Casual eatery serving a mix of sushi & familiar Thai cuisine in a low-key strip-mall setting.
Ordered takeout on Christmas Eve. They were about ready to close and we were able to get one last order put in. Order was ready on time for carry out.
My chicken pad Thai was okay. The chicken tasted off to me. We had two orders of this. Could have been just a bit more spicy so I’d ask for some additional flavor next time.
We also ordered Drunken Noodles, and Sweet & Sour Chicken. Everyone enjoyed those. Cheese rangoons as well. They were just okay. We did not enjoy the sushi rolls. Would not order again.
Would try it again for a sit down experience to see if the quality of food was a bit better. I was just very appreciative we had an order last minute Christmas Eve, so maybe it was a bit rushed for them right before closing.
Due to the weather, I was in need of some Red Curry. It was hot and fresh. It didn't have a heavy presence of Cocunut milk which i like but it definitely did the job. The hot n sour soup was good along with the Pot stickers. It came with a tasty brown sauce. Definitely going back to try other dishes.
Amazing Thai food. The yellow curry was phenomenal, the salmon salad was great, and the spring rolls were perfectly fried. Where this place lacks is service. Our take out order took about 54 minutes which included waiting in person about 25 minutes after they said it would be ready. The restaurant on the inside looks a bit tired and there didn’t seem to be a consistent uniform among the staff. But again, phenomenal food.
Came here trying to find a new Thai place. It wasn’t too crowded when we came on a weekend. The portions are very large, and it was nice to get a free soup right when we sat down. The hot and sour soup was not spicy and was good overall, but I wouldn’t pay for it if it wasn’t free. The veggies tempura appetizer was absolutely amazing. The pile was high, and if I had finished them, I wouldn’t have been able to eat any of my meal. The sauce it came with was very good. We got yellow curry, which was very flavorful, and I got mine with no meat and just veggies. It was very watery and not spicy, even though I asked for medium spice. The rice was very yummy and did help thicken the curry a little. I think they mixed up mine and my boyfriend’s curries, because he asked for the lowest spice, I tried his, and it was spicier than mine. He wasn’t able to really eat or enjoy his because it was too spicy for him. He did enjoy the chicken in his curry. Overall, good place, but we have had better curries if that is what you are looking for.
Stopped on by to try some Thai and oh my lemme tell u my guy it was bussing no fussing inside there was no cussing the drunken noodles smacked. The curry was like having blended creamy buttery coconut with pineapple and just a hint of spice just was magical with the jasmine to perfection it gave me an ........ something I wasn't expecting .... delicioso... came in hungry and left full so that's just dandy my wife is feeling randy to it's about time to jam out .
The atmosphere was nice not crazy fancy.
Overall, the dishes we ordered were flavorful and enjoyable. However, the Mango Sticky Rice did not meet our expectations. On the other hand, I highly recommend the Chicken Satay and the Thai Basil Fried Rice, both of which were excellent.
We came to the bistro for dinner with friends. The food appears to be very Thai original. The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice and the decorations make you feel like you traveled to far away land. The sushi rolls menu is extensive and they’re delicious. Most likely you will find a flavor that appeals to your taste. There’s also a full menu of appetizer and main entrées with all the Thailand style. We have visited this place a several times, and most likely will come back soon. Don’t forget to order a hot green tea which is very soothing and delicious.
Great quality Thai food.
Pleasantly surprised by this gem. It was a busy night, but service was good and food was amazing. My favorite dish is massaman and it's hard to find a thai restaurant that prepares it in San Antonio. Hot, fresh and absolutely delish! The tea bar is also a cute addition with a large menu!
Absolutely delicious! We had the salmon and the yellow curry. Excellent service on the phone and in person. I highly recommend this place.
I ordered the hot and sour soup and the thai basil eggplant with beef. The hot and sour soup was good but I ordered the thai basil eggplant on the spicer side. Unfortunately, it still came out a bit weak for me. The flavor was good though, so I can't be too upset about it.
I’ve been coming for years, still great food and great survive!
Overall, the dishes we ordered were flavorful and enjoyable. However, the Mango Sticky Rice did not meet our expectations. On the other hand, I highly recommend the Chicken Satay and the Thai Basil Fried Rice, both of which were excellent.
Generous portions. Great flavor
Regular customer and never disappointed!!! Love their food and service.

Service & flavor! Staff is so nice!
Edit #2, the kids in the front are great haven't had any issues since that one girl left.
Edit: The girl who was hanging up has not been there the last few times so I've updated my review. Will update again if things stay the same . Be careful when calling in to place an order during lunch, they will put you on hold then pick up the line and HANG UP on you! This has happened multiple times! Walked in to verify if there was a phone issue but the person had the phone in their back pocket!!!
One the best thai places in town. Massam curry chicken spice lvl 3 is my favorite for 15+ years
Due to the weather, I was in need of some Red Curry. It was hot and fresh. It didn't have a heavy presence of Cocunut milk which i like but it definitely did the job. The hot n sour soup was good along with the Pot stickers. It came with a tasty brown sauce. Definitely going back to try other dishes.
This place is consistently good. Noodles, stir fry, fried rice, spring rolls… just amazing. Highly recommended!
True authentic Thai food! It's one of my new favorites!
We ordered several hot dishes, plus 2 mango sticky rice desserts.
The hot item containers were placed with the cold mango sticky rice desserts. The desserts were ruined. The milky dessert was hot and runny. Just a big mess. We placed in the refrigerator, but this didn’t help. We had to throw both desserts in the trash. What a waste!
Always good food and service.
Consistency is key. We order here often and are very satisfied with the wait staff and the food is always fresh! This is my go to place whenever I am craving Thai food.
This place never disappoints. The Tom Kha soup with chicken is delicious, best I’ve had in San Antonio. The drunken noodle combo is also a great dish.
GREAT THAI FOOD! Worth a visit. Low key place in a strip mall, very simple dining & tables, but GREAT service & excellent food!
I'm so happy I found this place! 🎉 I ordered to go and loved it! I had the summer rolls with tofu and Tom Kha Soup with tofu (came fried). I order this at all Thai restaurants and my vote is for Thai Bistro!!
Went for lunch. Food was so fresh and delicious. Service was excellent, our server had some great suggestions. Highly recommend this place. Also got Boba to take home, wish had I had gotten 2!!
Our first time here: we had the lemon grass chicken medium spice asking with the triple crown medium spice and some cheese puffs. They actually had crab in them and not just cream cheese . This place is a must try. Hoping to go back soon to try other dishes. Price is a bit high but defiantly worth the quality
We've been coming here for years! Not going to lie, there is a difference in the food post pandemic, but still great nonetheless! We were just spoiled in that they had the best sweet and sour soup back in the day, but it's still delicious! The staff is sweet and attentive.
Yellow Curry is super good, the only thing I wanted was more rice to dip in my yellow curry 😂😍
All good. Food is good.
A long review overdue, great food. I buy it for my co-worker on break.
I tried this spot during my lunch break and funny story is I was actually having a hard time that day, but the food here definitely brightened my day. I got a couple of things on the menu and enjoyed everything I got. Will definitely be returning soon!
Favorite Thai restaurant in San Antonio...
I highly recommend this restaurant for its great Thai cuisine at an affordable price with fast, friendly professional service. The Pad Thai is phenomenal.
One of my absolute favorite spots. Great service. Stellar sushi.
Best Thai in San Antonio, super authentic!
Such a large variety of dishes. I had the pad Thai hot and it was so good. If you want sushi this is also the place to go! Great wait staff.
Great service! Food delicious! I have eaten there several times this year and the food and service are consistent.
Always good food & great service!
One of the best Thai restaurants in town, Fried rice, chicken wings are very good.
This place is a hidden gem. Yea it is in the of a dive, but is it delicious dive! I had the pad Thai with barbecue pork and the complementary hot and sour soup. I typically don’t like hot and sour soup. This must’ve been authentic hot and sour soup because it was delicious. It was spicy with a good tang. The pad Thai was delectable. Everything was fresh. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the barbecue was delicious. Service was very polite and very punctual. That was there for lunch and in and out, in no time at all. I am absolutely going back and taking the family with me this time.
Absolutely delicious
Very popular place to get the Thai food for the reasonable price. Lot of vegetarian options.
Update:
I think we must have caught them on an off-day previously. Had Thai tea, Massaman and Panang Curry, and everything was quite good. Solid Thai food, worth coming back to.
————————-OLD REVIEW————————
Thai Tea - 2/5 - something weird with it. Tastes off in a way I can’t put my finger on. It’s not as creamy and the Thai tea seems almost watered down
Satay - 3.5/5 - good - classic flavor. Nothing special but certainly tasty
Spring Roll - 4/5 - Great - crispy, flavorful, well balanced. Classic spring rolls. Personally prefer more glass noodles and wood ear mushrooms in my spring rolls, but that’s a personal preference.
Drunken Noodles - 3.5/5 - Good - nice, chewy noodles, seasoned well, tender meat. Nothing extraordinary about the flavors.
Pa nang Curry - 3.5/5 - Good - classic pa năng curry, the flavor was good in the curry broth, the veggies and meat could have been cooked a little better.
Total - $51.79
Classic Thai cuisine. Nothing spectacular but they remain consistent in their offerings.
Went with some coworkers for lunch. Great menu selections.
I bought food was so greasy and old they highly recommend it but it wasn't all that on top of it being old never going back
The food was delicious.
The wait staff attentive & nice.
My only complaint… entry door was dirty, so were all the windows.
Best food and employees!!!! We've been going there for over 10 years, our go to THAI FOOD restaurant definitely.
Great service, good food, and can order Boba! Yay!
So good! Had a app, had a roll, had a soup, had a stir fry and oh my goodness, yum! 10/10
The food is awesome. We’ve ordered half the menu at this point and we haven’t been disappointed. We definitely have made it a weekly stop and would definitely recommend
Service is great! The food, not so much… inconsistent quality. I’ve had some nights when it’s fantastic! But the flavor of every dish ordered this last time had an underlying burned flavor to it. In my opinion, its flavor and quality are too inconsistent and they charge too much… enough to say I won’t be ordering here again.
Moved here and tried at least 10 restaurants looking for my new favorite Thai place. Get the take out regularly! the spring rolls and pad Thai are my favorite. The sushi is also good haven’t been disappointed! They also have a cute boba shop attached to the restaurant and have a really good Thai tea. The restaurant is big and lots of tables would be easy for large parties. Online ordering is available and the staff is always really friendly.
There were limited vegan options, but I was pleased that the young lady helping me took the time to walk me through the entire menu. The basil rice was okay - and portion sizes were decent.
I enjoyed my Mongolian beef. I particularly liked how they allow you to choose the level of hot/spicy. Service was good.
My wife and I love this place! They are our favorite Thai restaurant in all of SATX. the food is delicious but also they have a speedy take out service. We often order takeout pork and chicken pad Thai and their golden California rolls are SO good.
Quite literally my favorite spot in all of SA! If friends come from out of town I take them here service is superior Ouladj (sorry if I spelled it wrong) does his best to always take care of you. I would have a melt down if this place ever closed. Hot and sour soup is a must try I always take extra home and their sashimi is fresh as can be.
Food is on point every time!!!
The service is brilliant and consistent. Same can be said for food and cleanliness.
I keep coming back for the lunch specials great deals on excellent food.
Amazing good and service.
Always a good time here. Good prices, quality, and portions. We love their pad Thai and fried rice.
Local family-owned spot that's always delicious. Friendly staff, especially if you start coming regularly
Love the Curry Noodle.
Pad Thai was ok rather bland . Summer Roll for a disappointment .
All I can say is delicious!!!
Delicious and tasty. Great choices and will definitely return.
I've been going here off and on for the last three years. This last time was the first time in almost a year. The place has been updated and expanded but service is still on point and so is the food.
Really like the food
Great food! Very clean! Great service!
Food is very good. Always a hard choice between sushi, curry, and noodles.
Best chicken pad thai in the city!
I asked for extra brown sauce and get zero sauce and then I tell the 2nd waitress and she just walks away & doesn’t bring me any. Is this REALLY a complicated request or that difficult to understand??? I left $0 tip, maybe that sent a message, I will NOT be back!!
A bit dated but food and service were good.
My wife and I have been going to Thai Bistro and Sushi for years, but i am no longer impressed with the food. In fact, I am disappointed. The restaurant's ambiance is nothing to write home about. The nicest area is a little area next to the cashier/to go orders. Nice seating, fresh Orchids, pretty cool. The rest of the restaurant is tables and a couple of seat sushi bar. This place needs renovation/updating. When it gets crowded, it feels crowded. The sushi bar definitely needs updating. Small cramped. enough. Now for the food. We ordered the summer rolls for an appetizer. They are a full 1/3 smaller than pre -pandemic. 2 little pieces of cooked shrimp and the rest veggies in a rice noodle-like wrapper. Usually comes with a Peanut sauce, but I am allergic to peanuts, so asked for and received sweet chili sauce. The wrapper was fine, but the rolls overall were nothing special, but better with the sauce. My wife's to-go entrée was Massaman Curry with chicken and extra veggies, cooked well, and my wife said, "it tasted good." I had the combination Pad Thai with Char Siu Pork, Beef, and Mussels. It was supposed to be 4-pepper spicy; no way. In fact, they just gave a small container of red pepper flakes; big deal, I have a large container at home. The noodles were dry, chopped up and too chewy. Just did not taste fresh. The pork was good but a bit too dry. The mussels were out of the bag/box New Zealand Green Mussels and were the best part of the dish. The beef was so chewy that I just took it out of the dish completely. The overall flavor of the Pad Thai was pretty good. Thankfully, as requested, no peanuts in this dish. I have been disappointed the last several times, I've purchased to-go food from Thai Bistro. We have eaten there in person and the food and sushi was much fresher and tastier. Bright spot, the young man who took my order was very professional and amiable. Not wasy to find in this day and age.
Good
So first of all this was my first time trying out this restaurant. I ordered take-out food. I wanted to try all 3 of their spicy sauces but I only could get one free one. So that was a Debbie downer. Next my tofu looked like it was made yesterday(yesterday's leftovers). I don't like egg in my food and the girl that took my ordered failed to tell me about that. Also I had asked her if you get a side with the entrée and she said no. So I had to order fried rice as an extra. She failed to tell me 2 plates came withwhite rice. Everything came out to like $50 for 3 adult people. So to me I will not get food from here again. It totally wasn't worth it. A friend of mine recommended this place highly.
I was totally disappointed. To you all thr truth don't waste your hard earned money here. It's not worth it.
Pad Thai is so good!
Long time customer here. Food and service will not disappoint. My family has tried a lot of the menu and have enjoyed each dish. I recommend you start with their noodle dishes if you're a first time costumer, can't go wrong with poor man noodles! They also have other asian dishes besides thai if that's your preference. They also have a boba (bubble tea) store inside the restaurant that I also highly recommend. Almost forgot, the staff is super friendly, respectful and attentive. Just note that they have dine in and take out but no delivery. Love this place!
Drunken noodle is amazing
Service was fantastic and the chef deserves a raise, no matter what they are already making.
Everything was amazing. Fast. Fresh and Good people.
Best Thai food and boba around ❤️. I had a wonderful experience with Zen as my server. Owner Randall came by and he is the sweetest guy. I highly recommend the drunken noodles dish there! Entire staff was amazing and welcoming but special shout out to Randall!!! Will be back.
The food is great but the service can be lacking. Was there for lunch during work and waited nearly 15 minutes for our drink order (water) to come out and then waited another 10 minutes to have our order taken. After 15 more minutes, we had to leave to go back to work so all we had was water and a couple of spoonfuls of hot and sour soup.
So, we have tried a bunch of dishes. All of the roe dishes.. as well as the crab and eel nigiri. The eel was absolutely phenomenal! The crab was smooth and buttery and absolutely delicious! I will be coming back next week! I love this place now!
Friendly and welcoming food is delicious!
Is just an ok restaurant to eat Thai food!
Rude staffs!! Sitting there 15 minutes no one came! Everyone walks by like I’m invisible to them. Never come here again.
We have ordered pho, sesame chicken, sushi, green curry, pad woon sen, and their hot and sour soup. Everything was delicious! I recommend adding hot and sour soup with whatever you order! It’s so good. Looks clean. The service is okay. Maybe they are short handed right now but overall rating- just go! It’s amazing! 9/10
Excellent sushi!
Eat there! Good stuff! Nice folks!!!
The food was soooooo good. Our waiter was super!
It was...ok.
We got a cup of sweet and hot soup when we were seated which was very nice. I guess I just don't like the soup tho, and this was my first time trying it, but someone I ate with will specifically order it when we go to Thai places, and they said it was good. The service was nothing special or to remember. The food wasn't either. I got poor man's noodles I think it was called? And it was just FLAVORLESS and full of oil. The pad Thai was a little better but still not much flavor. I tasted the yellow curry that my friend got and that was pretty good, definitely thinner than India curry like a soup, as it should be. They got it at level 3 spicy of 4 and it wasn't as unbearable as I would think (I can handle jalapenos very well and up to a habaneros worth of spice).
I decided to get my usual taro boba with regular pearls and it was just not worth it. I think I remember it being grainy but worse was the boba which was not soft, and they took a loooong time to get it to me.
They have a whole lot on their menu so I feel like maybe some of it is going to be good but some won't. I don't think I'll go back for anything but maybe to try the curry at a lower spice level 🥵
Ive been to this restaurant so many times, and it was one of my favorites. I was so disappointed and quite frankly disgusted when we found a roach in our fried rice. The fried rice was being fed to a toddler, when the disgusting roach was found. It did take a while for the manager to come out, and we were not charged for the meals (that we did not even start eating).
I absolutely love this place, I’ve been twice and the second time I got drunken noodles and wonton soup. My mom got this curry soup theres lots of curry options I tried it and it was very good, they said it’s made with coconut milk. so enjoyable, and I love the boba place combined. Our waiter was okay… service wasn’t impressive
Fantastic.
Always love the food and boba I get.
Always a great experience with awesome food and service. The Pad Thai is perfect and they have great variety in their menu. Best hot and sour soup in the city as well.
11/10 will go again and order level 4 spicy pad Thai.
We were visiting San Antonio for new years and wanted to grab some dinner on new year's eve. Thai bistro served us with delicious food and great customer service.
Definitely will be coming back soon when we visit San Antonio again.
We ( husband and i) come in at least 3x a month. 100% best thai/ sushi combo from here till 1604 corridor. The sushi is equivalent to sushihana and better than sushi zushi or kin or yummi. The thai is great and they are receptive to spice level. Its not a fancy place but the staff is always attentive and on it. We looove thai bistro!
Recommended dishes: chicken laab
Pad see you
Drunken noodle
Wild tuna roll
Pad-Thai used to be my favorite from this restaurant but had it recently and was very soupy and noodles very soft and overcooked. Our waitress (God bless her) was pretty much absent, but another waiter took over and apologized and he was great. The restaurant decor is dated and attached to what looks like a Boba Tea shop. Was a little disappointed with our visit this time and overall experience was below the great experience we've had in the past.
The food is always great and prepared quickly.
First time there staff we kind and efficient, all of them had a smile on their face. The food was great
Came here trying to find a new Thai place. Overall, good place, but we have had better curries if that is what you are looking for.
Fantastic food for a great price.
The year was 2011. My girlfriend moved away to UTSA and I came to visit. With my influence to try new things and strong liking to Thai cuisine, we ended up here, being recommended by the owner, (or owner's very good friend, an older, very polite asain man), to try the Curry Noodles -which is at the halfway point between a noodle dish and a noodle soup. It was so good that the girlfriend and I were romantically fighting over who gets the next bite as we were eating in her bed. The rest was history, and so was my relationship with the girlfriend, because it turned out she was meant for the streets. 2 years later, she ended up getting pretty fat and hasn't lost the weight to this day, 12 years later.
Amazing food, fast service, calm atmosphere. 10/10
Really delicious pad thai and hot-and-sour soup. I come for lunch a couple of times per month.
Came here on a whim and it's AMAZING! Loved everything we ate. My friend and I are from out of town and are willing to come back just to eat there! 10/10 Amazing
The food here is always delicious and the service is fast
Fave new thai place for Pad wun sen... Beef, Delicious and juicy meat-not over cooked, Yum!!! Late afternoon, early evening weekday, quiet and nice. Gotta come back with friends.
Amazing!! Will most definitely be coming back here for my Thai food fix! The tom kha soup was one of the best I’ve ever had!
Best boba tea in town. Most affordable and most delicious. Tons of add ons. We go so often! I am also in love with the PINEAPPLE CURRY- omg. Once you have it it’s hard to eat any other curry. My son eats their spicy dragon roll and the hot and sour soup beforehand is spicy & DELICIOUS!
