For some insane reason, Thai restaurants in the greater Boston area all seem to think that if you don't want meat in your pad Thai, you must actually want them to add a ton of leftover vegetables from other dishes, so that what you get is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from what you actually ordered!

I've lived in four other states, where every Thai place I visited simply offered fried tofu as one of the protein options for all their dishes. Seemed like an obvious menu option. But since moving here, I have discovered that Thai restaurants around Boston think "vegetarian" means you absolutely love any and all vegetables and want them all added to every meal!

In MA, I have to try my luck every time I order pad Thai, by requesting the chicken version then asking they substitute fried tofu in place of the chicken. It seems like a simple request, but only about half the time do they make it right. Well, last night Khao Hom Thai got it wrong for the last time.

Pictured are all the vegetables they decided, on their own, to mix in with my pad Thai. I had to spend several frustrating minutes digging these out of my food. Broccoli, cabbage, carrots... even green beans??? What dish is this even supposed to BE anymore? If I'd wanted this, I probably would have ordered lo mein from a Chinese restaurant. In what world does this look or TASTE like pad Thai?

I’m a very hard to please, picky eater. This has been our go to Thai place for about 4 years now.
We’ve tried almost all items on the menu and most of them are fantastic. I usually don’t leave reviews, but this place certainly deserves one.
I hope they stay in business for many years to come.

Always great food every visit. The woman that runs the front of the restaurant is extremely kind and always smiling. I've only had a few items on the menu, but say with confidence that the pad thai, crazy noodles, yellow curry and spring rolls are all fantastic. Also recommend trying the thai iced tea, it's a great addition to a meal or just a nice mid day treat. Can't say enough positive things about this small business, glad to see it's been able to survive the pandemic.

We get Khao Hom pretty regularly. We don't live in town and the drive is more than worth it to get carry out. The food is always piping hot and delicious. The veggies are so well cooked, never soggy. Tonight I got my usual order (pad see ew with ground chicken and extra veggies) and it was the best one yet. We also love the gaopao, spring rolls, and satay. The dinner portions are huge - it's always at least two meals for me. Thanks Khao Tom!

Excellent little hole in the wall Thai place. I'm sure it's meant more for takeout so that's why the atmosphere was lacking, but there are a couple tables to sit at if you need to. Food was top notch and service was quick and attentive!

From the appetizers to the soups and entrees, this place is fantastic.

The chicken satay, scallion pancakes, and spring rolls are amazing. All accompanying sauces are great.

The beef Pho is wonderful and quite a generous portion. Their curries offer easy choice of vegetables and protein. Their Pad See Ew is really good both fresh in the restaurant and after reheating as leftovers at home.

This is not a closeup of a small bowl of soup but a real shot of the Wonton Soup ($5.50) from @khaohom_thai_restaurant. "Shrimp and Pork marinated in house sauce wrapped in wonton wrapper." Remember those mini wontons with lots of loose wraps that you get in most Chinese restaurants? Not here! The wontons are the size of (Swedish) meatballs. The soup actually had a taste, and there were bits of fried garlic floating around. I was almost done after finishing off the delicious soup.

One of the best of not the best Thai places on the east coast! The kao soi is phenomenal and the classics Pad Thai and pad ki mao is so good! Don’t hesitate just order and you won’t regret it.

Food is fresh and delicious. Special requests are not a problem. Highly recommended.

Very good food and drink

Great Thai food! Drunken noodle, pineapple fried rice, and crispy basil pork are all winners. The basil pork was surprisingly not spicy but the drunken noodle was (pineapple fried rice is good to take the heat off for a bit). We always do takeout, everything is packed really well for the drive home. Love this place.

I don't usually do reviews...But this place is worth doing it for.The Best Thai food/Drunken Noodle within a 30 mile radius of Boston.It is excellent IF you like this type of food.Looking at the place from the outside at first you look and think its probably not that good..on the smaller side strip mall look....I was totally wrong about this place its amazing and the portions are consistently more than you can eat in one sitting and they deliver. The only Thai place in mass that I think is better was the Wondef Spice Cafe in Jamaica Plain...This place is a must try!!

Picked up takeout here last night and feasted! Apps, soup, curry, noodles, fried rice...all exceptional and will feed us for days. Friendly and fast, good covid protocols when you go in to pick up the food, miss eating there in person but will be back soon!

Easily some of the best Thai food I've ever had.

I have never ever ever left a review in my life. I just ordered the Soup Dumplings and the Chicken Wings appetizer. I CANNOT EVEN BELIEVE THAT I AM WRITING THIS. I have traveled around the world a lot. The Countries I visit I only eat in there Chinatown and Asian locations if they have them or are known to be famous for them. I do not eat Americanized Asian food that is in every town or city in America, I do not order a pu pu platter which people think is authentic Chinese food! Tonight I was totally blown away by their dumpling soup and chicken wings ( I would not usually order wings for the obvious reasons!) I can say that in my personal opinion that their dumpling soup and wings will rival or beat some of the most famous places that I have personally eaten at around the globe! I am happy but mad at myself that this gem is less than 3 miles from my house and I just discovered it now! I guess this is my silver lining of self quarantine during this epidemic!

pho is perfect

Disgusting pad thai way too sweet & had a red color to it , beef satay had a bad texture and taste, and fried chicken dumpling tasted like nothing and had a bad hard texture to it.. I had to trash my food. It was inedible. All the meat tasted like it was rotten before they cooked it. The food made me want to gag. Food had a bad after taste. Might have been an off day for them but the quality of food I received was unacceptable.

Their Pad Kee Mao is the best thing on the menu, and quite possibly the best thing I've ever tasted! DEFINITELY RECOMMED

I opted to have lunch here based on the excellent reviews and I was totally impressed. The food was flavorful, so delicious, service quick and courteous. I have been to so many Thai restaurants that it is hard to count but this stands out as one of the best places. Even Thai Iced tea was so tasty and not too sweet. This restaurant was amazing. I will be back during my next business trip!

One of the best Thai restaurants outside of the Boston area. Portions are huge and food is amazing. Folks are friendly as well. Popeye salad, eggplant curry, tom yum soup, and shrimp in a blanket are some of my favorites

We came in early (they open at 1130) and it was nice and quiet. Served promptly and the food was delicious. It is a bit out of the way for me but I would definitely make the trip again!

Love this place. Good food, quick delivery. The staff who answer the phone are friendly yet efficient. The guy who drives for them is happy and upbeat (even in a rain storm). We usually order a curry and one of the veggie stir fries. You can ask for as much or little spice as you want.

Looks on the outside are very deceiving...as another reviewer noted, this place is in a run-down plaza in Billerica. However, the food is really exceptional - especially for this area. There is an "authentic" taste to their pad Thai. Everything we order has always been excellent quality, fresh, and consistent. Their pho is great, pad kee mao and gapao with ground chicken also delicious. We LOVE this place. Also, they understand gluten free if that's a dietary need.

Love the food here. It's our new favorite place to get Thai food, especially in Billerica. We often order the same noodle dish, but I always get it spicy. They'll add as much as you want. Definitely worth a try if you have not been there.

Love the food but it's bad buisness when someone drives out of their way to go eat here when they are supposed to be open, the sign flashing saying open but the doors locked with no one inside.... Bad buisness and a definite loss of customer

If you love Thai food then you should check out Khao Hom. We came here for lunch one day and the place looks like more of a takeout joint but they have some tables. The people who worked there were really nice and we felt welcomed. Their pineapple fried rice and pad see ew were both outstanding. Very greasy but mm mm good. Huge portions and great value. I'm still recovering from the fried rice though. It was my first time ordering it and I gained 5 pounds in one day and still haven't lost it all. But would I do it again? You're damn right I would!

Outstanding Thai food! We have been ordering here about once or twice a month for a few months and every time we order we get consistently fresh and delicious food! We place large orders and they have always been perfect, as ordered and very well packaged. Our favorites are hot wings, spring rolls, scallion pancakes, vegetable pad thai, pineapple rice and pad se ew but everything we have ordered has been delicious. Very friendly ladies at the counter too! Perfect takeout Thai restaurant!

The food is great, way better that any other Thay place I visited recently. The personnel is polite and the order comes fast. They also deliver.

Very good, whole fresh ingredients like chunks of galangal. Happily the dishes are not sugared. Their coconut milk dishes -- all the curries, the Tom Kha soup, and one noodle dish - are delicious but basically all the same sauce.
