This Thai standard offers a changing menu of specials in a genteel spot close to local cinemas.
It is a good restaurant. Plenty of tables and space. It is in a second floor but elevator is available endurance accesibility. The presentation of the plates are cute, yet I would appreciate more flavor and protein on the pinnaple rice. The selection of dessert is interested, the Thai Tea Cremme Brule was delicious. Service was fast
Hey yall heyyyyy,
This is another place that does not disappoint!! From the server OHM, to the food was/is always on point. It's a secret gem I like to sneak off and visit when I'm in the area shopping.
Their drinks are always an experience with the flowers and presentation of the food. Sometimes I forget to take pics bc its soooo good! I had shrimp and crab dumplings and their awesome Duck rolls. I took a order of CRAB FRIED RICE to go. Another phenomenal dish!
Thank you guys!!!
This place deserves more than 5 stars. Friendly staff who greets you as soon as you walk in. Clean and relaxed atmosphere. The food was so delicious! I ordered fried rice with shrimp. The shrimp were huge and succulent. Rice was cooked perfect! Everything was so good! Mango sticky rice could have used more sauce but it was still so very good! They also give you great portions. I recommend this place to everyone!
I was here with family. 4 kids: 13 and under. The staff were nice to the kids. The food was very well seasoned with a good portion size. I got Massaman Curry with Tofu. I found an actual star anise in the sauce!! Actual spices were used and I could tell because the flavor was great.
We’ve tried multiple Thai at ___ restaurants around the DMV, and this one is our new favorite! The spice level and flavor is spot on. The service is quick and the staff is warm and welcoming. We had the spring rolls, street noodles and the pad ka pow with chicken, at a 3 and 4 spice level. Everything was delicious and the serving size left more for us to take home to enjoy again the next day.
If you’re a fan of drunken noodles, I recommend skipping the one at this place and suggest you order it from Charm instead. The drunken noodles were way too wet, it was sitting in a pool of sauce and completely drenched in it. That shouldn’t be the case at all. There should also be slightly charred pieces that gives this noodle dish a smoky flavor since it’s cooked in a wok. Charm has the best drunken noodles in downtown Silver Spring.
The service here could’ve been better, our waitress had zero people skills — if you want friendly customer service, go to Lamoon. The only saving grace of this place is their interior design, but the booth seats were so worn from wear and tear that it was incredibly scratchy (especially if you’re wearing shorts during the summer).
Overall, this place was just okay, nothing mind blowing by any means. The flavors are definitely catered towards Americans rather than Thais. They give you an option to choose how spicy you want your dish to be, on a scale of 1-5, 5 being the spiciest. We got a 4 and it was the most mild thing we’ve ever had. Everything was underwhelming in terms of flavor.
Delicious food, fast service. Simple

There are way better Thai locations to visit. The one in Columbia and laurel have this one beat by far! I’ve had the same Asian female waitress everytime I’m here and she’s terrible. I’m probably the only customer in here right now and the service is still terrible. I feel like the shrimp in my soup isn’t even cooked all the way….cocktails are also mid. Won’t be back after today
These ppl are races , they can't even greet you and talks about you in your face like you're invisible. Place a order to go and the lid was not even on tight so the some of the juice spilled out.

The food here is great and that's why I've gone back many times. However, note that your server may accost you after you settle the bill for not tipping up to the recommended percentages - and that I've found to be off putting. The minimum recommended tip is 18% of your total fyi.

If I can give 0 stars I would. This place is horrible. They instantly start their tips from 18% and they bully you to add it to the payment before swiping your card. I was really thrown off with that. The fish that I ate was very unseasoned. 2 entree and 1 drink, I paid almost $100 is ridiculous. No wonder the restaurant was half empty on a Friday night. Will never return.
I have eaten at this location several times. I was told dont come back if I don't leave a tip. I have left a tip every other visit except this one because I wasn't happy with the service and was questioned about it. And when I said I wouldn't return was told okay that's good. Again, have left. A tip every other time, even when it wasn't warranted. Another example of the abusive with the tipping industry. No consideration if I'm not able to do it financially this time or not just where is my tip.
I entered this restaurant wondering why there were so many empty seats during a peak dinner time. After 30 minutes, I got my answer.
I ordered the pineapple fried rice but was totally disappointed as it was virtually tasteless. No flavor whatsoever, which is a huge departure from my experience at other Thai restaurants. To make matters worse, the customer service left a lot to be desired, especially guy at the front desk. Thai at Silver Springs has certainly lost my business.
Great Thai food!
Good food but no AC, terribly hot, sticking to the chair
I've been coming to this restaurant for years. The food is always good and the service is great. They are fast and. friendly
came in over an hour before they closed. requested ice, got an attitude and still no ice. nasty attitudes for no reason and i was just hungry trying to get good food.
The food is good but very bad that they force you to pay the tip. I mean tip should be what you want to give right? They force you to select the options given by them viz. 18% , 20%, 22%. This is not right from their part.

The food here is usually really good. I tried to order a Grubhub, but I immediately got a call from the restaurant saying that I needed to tip the driver 15% on GrubHub and I said I usually tip about four or five dollars for delivery and I’ve never received this call before. The woman from the restaurant said, you have to pay 15% that’s how I pay my drivers and I said well aren’t you supposed to pay your drivers I tip what I tip? and she said no no that’s not how it works. I said I’ve never had this issue before when I’ve ordered on Grubhub from this restaurant or any others and I’m not sure why I have to as it must pay 15% or she will not go forward with my order. She said if I don’t pay 15% it depends on the driver and it’ll take two hours. I said well I see how it is if I don’t pay a 15% tip then my food will take two hours or more? I said I will put that in my review and she said no no no I will make sure it comes early let me call the driver and I said no please cancel the order because I was past the point of being happy with my order. So I asked her to cancel the order. She tried to insist that she can call the driver, but I insisted that she canceled the order. I’m really disappointed because the food is really good on delivery and in the restaurant.
Rude, and bad service.
Good food and good service
Love this place. Don’t know why I waited so long to try!
I always order food for delivery and I would say that I've never been disappointed. Food is delicious and very neatly packed. I would always recommend this Thai restaurant to anyone that's too lazy to dine in.
Good food, quiet, nice waitress.
My favorite Thai restaurant in downtown silver spring. The chicken fried rice & jacket shrimp never seem to disappoint me!

If you are Latino, or other ethnicity please don’t go to this restaurant for you good, the service was awful and I very upset because I go a couple times before and I can give them 5 star, but now the servers and the manager at the night are racist and they doesn’t care if are a lot people watching you she scream you. The history is me and someone who came from Colombia we going to the restaurant for eat and show silver spring to him, okay, he’s tourist, in Colombia and my country Venezuela our driver license are International for don’t bring with you the passport because are a really importante document and if you lose it you mess up, we we are speaking in Spanish when we walk in to the restaurant and the server I don’t know her name the only what I know she have glasses on, the server sit us in a table and we still speaking in Spanish, again he visit me from Colombia, I notice like the server doesn’t come on time she take care other tables and she take our table later, we order and we want to drink a beer, she ask for our ID’s well I’m show mine and my friend show his ID. She watch his ID and she start speaking in another language to the manager and she say I’m sorry we can accepted because the document are in Spanish obviously I get mad and I defend him and say I can translate for you and you only want to see the date (he’s 33 years old so he born in 1990) but she doesn’t want to see the license because is in Spanish we start argument with her and she’s doesn’t want to take his driver license i say you are racist for this and she doesn’t care about this (I’m taking to the manager btw, she’s small with glasses and she always have water in her hand)
A nice surprise. We were not expecting anything special, but our food was really good. All of us cleaned our plates.
My Pad Thai with shrimp was tasty. The location is convenient to the pedestrian shopping area in Silver Spring. This would be a nice low key spot to meet friends for dinner. And the staff was friendly and polite.
I love their food, it always makes me feel good.
Food, service, timing is always consistent & perfect. Me and my boyfriends favorite restaurant
Lots of interesting Thai dishes, and remixes to Thai dishes. Good service, great flavors.

The food was good, and the restaurant seemed clean!
The food is amazing.
My favorite Thai restaurant in the area. Everything is always delicious. Friendly staff.
Service and food was excellent 👌
Good food and reasonably priced. Great service.
Great disappointment. I ordered here last night for a take-out. Average Gyozas and spring rolls not yummy or tasty at all… ( perfumes? Lemongrass?). The thaï pad noodles was a real failure. The angel pasta was overcooked, dried, not enough sauce and we kept looking for 3 miserable slices of chicken. Really expensive and not worthy. This is not what we were expected for 40 dollars 💵. First and last time.
The food here is well prepared and the seasoning is as authentic as it gets. Nice decor and amiable service.
Delicious!
Was in town for business and met my cousin here for dinner. The Shrimp Pad Thai was the BEST I'VE EVER HAD! Clean place (including the kitchen..you know I had to look lol). Definitely will be back whenever I visit Silver Spring again.
Good food and goo service. Very nice people!
Everything here was wonderful! The food was great, the atmosphere and music were great, the staff was great. Highly recommended!
Wonderful food, great service and calm atmosphere. Thank you.
I was really looking forward to trying this spot because I’ve only heard good things but the customer service is pretty non existent. I have a gluten allergy and typically Thai is good because they don’t use a lot of gluten. I ordered a crispy duck (no indication that it had gluten from the menu). Upon taking the first bite, I noticed a light breading. I picked up the phone and called to confirm before I got sick. I was connected to what seemed like the manager. After verifying that it was indeed breaded with flour, I was told that “I should’ve known better”. This led to myself and the woman going back and forth because the menu did not say that it was breaded so I’m not too sure what I should be knowing better about. The interaction was disrespectful considering I had paid $30+ and had my health compromised. If this is how the establishment deals with customers then I’m good, Kin Da would never.
Update: Went back recently right before the dinner rush. Service was a worlds difference and the food was noteworthy, with large portions.
Food was phenomenal! Very fast service!
Love the phad thai and soups!
Best Thai restaurant in the dmv , always good for my lady n I . Presentation is the best and the food is always good.
Even though the overall rating, for this restaurant is a 4.3. I give it a 5, the establishment was warm and welcoming. The waitress was extremely helpful, thorough, and wasn’t bad looking at all. The food was delicious, drinks were good plus the Staff checked in on you throughout your dining in experience.
Honestly, my girlfriend and I didn't expect much when we came in desperate for food after running errands. Furthermore, I am VERY picky with Thai food. After living in New York City, it can be difficult to find Thai restaurants that live up to Brooklyn quality. I was amazed at how good our four appetizers were. The peanut sauce was the second best I have ever had and I found myself wanting much, much more of it. The tofu was nice and dry and cooked perfectly. My partner's mussels were in her words "the bomb dot com". The prices are a little high but the quality and large portions easily make up for that. Staff is nice and very helpful. Would come again and recommend to others. Ignore the one-star reviews on here. They're mostly incredibly entitled and ocassionally racist.
How about not having your waitresses telling paying customers how much they should be tipped ,that’s ridiculous. This girl I don’t even remember her name barely spoke much English had the audacity to tell me to tip her 23% tips after my bill was almost 130 for a group of 4 .like girl be soo for real .
This place was my last choice after reading the reviews. The service and the food are horrible. They add in their tip, by the way, 🎭 After a few trips to the restroom 🚹 and a day in bed 🛌 I was cleared of waste ☣️
Tasty food
The reason why I gave 1 star (supposedly no star at all) I pay cash when we dine-in then they didn't give me the change anymore. The waitress took my money more than how much is she pay for the tip SHE TOOK MORE THAN 20%. I'm not going back to this restaurant...EVER!!!!
Love it here! Always ample seating and great service. All your Thai favorites done amazingly well!
מסעדה תאילנדית טובה שרות אדיב ונעים אוכל טעים ולא יקר ממליץ בחום
The food was so delicious! I had the Jungle Lovers. It was spicy and aromatic, without being overpowering. The staff was very friendly, too.
I have to say that I am very disappointed because of my latest visit here tonight! Immediately after paying $40 for my meal and to-go order, and walking out of the establishment, one of the waitresses/hosts ran outside to me as I was about to walk down the big staircase in the town center and began frantically asking me if everything was okay because I opted to not leave a tip. Personally felt the service was okay since it was a slightly busy night with bigger parties currently seated and other patrons who walked in after me were waiting a while at the check-in desk to be acknowledged. I have definitely experienced better; but, the only reason I didn't tip was due to not having my main wallet; so, I didn't have enough cash and was using a pre-paid gift card. Despite her hawking me as I dug through my bag, I managed to find two dollars and gave it to her, and she had the nerve to ask me if I can put more on the card!
Safe to say in my almost 8 years of coming to this restaurant I have never felt so disrespected and disappointed in a restaurant's customer service in my life; and will definitely think really hard about ever coming here again! I work in customer service myself and have worked in restaurants and that experience tonight was absolutely unacceptable! Chasing a customer outside over a tip, especially considering I have been a longtime patron is beyond ridiculous no matter how though times are. I really didn't want to think it was a race thing but my goodness...
I'm only giving it 3 stars because the Pad See Ew & Spicy Breaded Shrimp has always been good.
Superior food, superior service!
been here many times, food is good but they are so rude. if you don't leave a tip they will chase you down and say "you forgot to tip!" like...? who does that. they don't say they have a minimum for delivery but i assumed it was probably $20 or something. they advertise free delivery for lunch. First i try to place an order on the phone for delivery and give the address and she asks how many miles away. i guesstimated 2-3 and she said no we don't deliver that's too far (what?) then i said that's crazy i'm so close, and she then asks someone who KNOWS and she comes back saying ok what do you want... I start ordering a gyoza to start and she interrupts me saying YOU KNOW THE MINIMUM IS 35$! and i said okay i'm not done ordering...my order was above that but it doesn't even say that on your website or menu? Since when? she starts laughing and says no i'm telling you it's $35 minimum now, to tell you. mind you i didn't even finish ordering, she kept talking over me and being rude. i've been coming here every saturday with my coworkers and i am NOT coming back ever.
always reliable thai. good sweet thai iced tea. dishes are tasty, unfortunately pineapple fried rice is no longer served in half pineapple shell. mango and sticky rice was delicious but a very small portion. spicy eggplant was smooth and just spicey enough.
I’ve been going to this restaurant just about every Monday for three years and it’s spectacular. I’ve tried almost every Thai restaurant in the area and this one is the best. The staff are friendly and the vibe is good. The food is spectacular while also being one of the more affordable ones in the area. Whenever I’m in Silver Spring, this is the place to go.
Love this place!
Delicious food
I really like the duck there and will be going back.
Food was good nice atmosphere
Great service wonderful food!!
The Pad See Ew was so delicious. The portions they give you are very big and the price is about right considering that you get quality food. The Fried Bananas and Coconut Ice Cream were excellent. There are crunchy pieces of coconut in the ice cream! The ambiance is very nice and relaxing. Overall this might be my new favorite Thai spot and would recommend others to come.
Lamb massaman is the best I have ever had. Location provides variety of great food options as well. Crunchy Springs rolls on point too.
It was great! The service was fantastic, the drinks were good. The food, better. We were originally going to eat at Masa Hibachi (unfortunately, they didn't open until 12:30 pm for lunch) and came across this space next door.
I'm so glad I did! The crispy duck was so yummy. My mentor enjoyed his chicken noodle soup (Thai style, of course). It was just a overall enjoyable experience. I highly recommend.
Such a great place to get authentic Thai food in downtown silver spring! I’m a huge fan of their pad thai, my family enjoys the drunken noodles, green curry. gyoza, and curry puffs (exquisite!). The staff is always so friendly and accommodating, and your food is ready with very little wait no matter if you dine in or pick up. Amazing quality, such great flavors, you have to try it!!
Good food, good company - who could ask for anything more?
I will NEVER return to this horrible restaurant. I’ve been a regular at this place for the past 5 years, especially because they have been vegetarian friendly. However, this past time, they added pork and shrimp to our rice when we clearly asked for vegetarian, and when we called them to exchange it or a refund, Kobey (the front desk person) was extremely disrespectful and rude and argued with us THE ENTIRE TIME. Not once an apology. I’m appalled at their customer service and have never been treated so badly by a restaurant employee. PS: the pork had fuzz on it, yuck!
One of, if not the best Thai restaurant in MoCo. The flavors are authentic, the food is fresh and the portions are huge. Prices are slowly creeping up but it's worth it. They care about their restaurant as it shows in their willingness to reinvest in renovations, something that is rarely done in Asian establishments. The service is top notch and food flies out of the kitchen. You never wait long, whether dining in or carrying out. Do yourself a favor and skip the Kiin Im, skip the Ruan, skip those "fancy" Thai chef Thai kitchen spots and give this place a go. It's worth it.
I tried some vegetarian dishes and added note to not have eggs, so they are vegan. For me, the portion of entree is big enough for two to three meals. Rolls and salads are regular size. I appreciate them calling when finished delivering the foods, even though it wasn't in my instruction. I also appreciate them separating curry and fried tofu as well as rice so they won't be soggy. Thank you!
The food was great! It was ready for pick up when they said it would be.
Hostess was friendly but very overwhelmed and the restaurant wasn't even full - at all. I ordered a drunken noodle with shrimp. I asked for it to be spicy and she said "how much we start at a no.2" So, I thought "ok, 3 shouldn't be fine." 1st, the drunken noodles were - very sober lacked flavor and sauce. They cut these red bell peppers and too big (looks sloppy). And the beef Pad Thai was also bland and very dry. They Definitely missed the mark.
My fav Thai place. Excellent service, great food and drinks, nice ambiance
I order Pad Thai Noodles over the phone for an order to go. By the time I arrive, the food was ready and I also ordered another 2 sides when I got there. I told the lady behind the register, “can I eat here instead of taking it home to go”, since I got hungry when I arrived. She immediately showed no sympathy by the tone of her voice with an attitude just to tell me that I can NOT eat here that I have to eat outside in 100-degree weather? WHY do I have to eat outside when you have customers eating inside? So, I’m assuming customers who dine in are TREATED differently than those who order through the phone to go? I mean HUH? 1 star for customer service and definitely won’t spend a dime in this place again!!!
Always great service and delicious food
Great food.
I've been here several times mostly because of co-workers or colleagues who preferred Thai At Silver Spring.
I enjoy their lunch specials. A much better deal than coming here for a regular dinner. The lunch specials include a generous entrée, your choice of appetizer and a soda. For Thai Iced Tea, you will be charged extra (an entire drink price, instead of the difference between a soda and Thai Tea which is what I would expect).
The food however is VERY inconsistent. While one visit may be a good day, some visits are drastically blander. I don't understand why this happens so often here. So I don't come here on my own, or else I will end up wasting my money.
I think the dinner prices aren't worth the quality of food. So again stick to lunch if you must!
Restaurant is on the second level and spacious.
Really liked the food and ambience here. We ordered fried rice, red and yellow curry. It was really delicious!! Kae was very nice and patient and even recommended her favorite dishes !! Would definitely recommend!!
Great service, excellent food.
The restaurant is great. Has plenty of seating, great food options. The staff are friendly and kind. They check in on you to make sure you are alright.
OMG! The worst Thai food experience. I ate there several times before and the food was ok, but last week it was bad. The food appeared to be precooked and sitting there m spring rolls were greasy ad if refried. Servers finger was in my curry as he was putting it on the table. All around bad.
Delicious. A bit pricey
Best pineapple fried rice I've tried. Food and service are excellent!
The food was great the host was amazing the environment was soothing calming.
Best Thai food in MD hands down!
This place is awesome! I’ve ordered several things multiple times now and the food is always delicious, especially the pad Thai and the dumplings. The drunken noodles and the street noodles are also good. The curry and catfish are excellent. The delivery service is usually faster than estimated time, and the delivery guys are always friendly. Also, I love that they have free delivery monday-Friday after 4:30 - even with the 30$ min order, I just order stuff for the next day too. Highly recommend!
Great food, good service, reasonable price.
Love their food, generous portions
Good food and friendly staff, one of the best Asian cuisine around in MD.
The experience was nice at first. The food was good and came at a reasonable time. After we left the lady followed us out demanding we leave a tip. After that we explained we hadn’t gotten paid yet and she said she was going to put 15% on my card so she could pay the man. After telling her that I don’t authorize it but she kept insisting it and got upset with us telling us we can’t eat there again.
Excelent food and service
Pineapple fried rice is tha bomb.
The customer service here is amazing. We got there 2 minutes before closing and just wanted boba, we didnt know if they would just tell us they were closed but gratefully that wasnt the case. They allowed us to order our boba to go and it was delicious. Great staff and great boba!
My Girlfriend, myself and a friend of hers came in and ordered bubble tea for two of us and a mixed drink for my girlfriend on her birthday. The lady serving us refused to serve my girlfriend who walks off beat due to a brain injury. I explained the brain injury and that none of us had any drinks yet. My girlfriend is embarrassed enough about her disability without being refused service and laughed at by a rude waitress. Needless to say we left and I will not be returning to a place that laughs at people with disabilities.
In light of the pandemic we are in, EVERYTHING was served in plastic ware. Even though the waitress showed me on the menu where it says $1 for honey, she didn't get the question of WHY? It defeats the purpose of having green tea. To me, it's like charging for salt...tacky and cheesy. The waitor continued to serve me across my face and not in front. I prefer not to smell body odor of my server before a meal. However, the food was good inspite of being served in plastic ware for a $45 dollar meal and no honey. I will try again, next season in hopes of better second chances.
I've been to Thai At Silver Spring many times over the years and it never disappoints. Today February 13, 2020 - I just finished a late lunch of very spicy Som Tam Papaya Salad and Pad Seauw. Followed by a delicious Thai Iced Tea. Absolutely excellent as usual. I love Thailand and Thai food. And since I won't be making the annual trip to Thailand this year - I'm glad Thai at Silver Spring is still here. Excellent.
Love the Thai food, the soups are excellent!
Great service and very fast! Great food....
I have been coming forever and have never been disappointed..
Had some great tofu pad thai here after the MD Brewer's Association event at the civic center nearby. The portion was huge and it made great leftovers the next day.
Decent Thai food! Good for a mini date good place to check out. But not the first place I would want to be brought to for a date.
