I was recommended this restaurant by a friend, and it exceeded all my expectations. The food is outstanding, and the customer service is equally impressive. My favorite dish is the crispy rice salad—the perfect combination of crispy, savory, and sour flavors is simply amazing. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Food was insanely good and fresh. Super clean and fresh produce (lettuce, cucumbers, etc.), cool beer selection, large menu. I can’t wait to try everything. Service was fantastic, nice music, very clean establishment. Bathrooms were super clean. Lights were a bit bright but that’s okay. So grateful to have this Rockville. The wings were perfectly cooked. All our fried dishes were fried to perfection. Everything smelled so good like fish sauce. I can’t say enough good things about this place. The NA beverages were unique and delicious.
This is a cute place and great atmosphere and the staff were very friendly. I will say the food was amazing! Better that some other Laotian spot I’ve gone. The food was flavorful and spicy! We had the awr fry and the over the Mekong river. They did a nice job accommodating a veggie option for one of us but if you are a vegetarian there currently aren’t a lot of options just yet but they did say they will look to add an option. All in all the food was some of the best I’ve had!
Like all hidden gems, this one is behind a Duck Donuts but the delicious food still draws a crowd every night. From the owners of Kiin Imm Thai down the street, this Laos/SE Asian focused restaurant serves up tasty drinks and mouth-watering dishes ranging from Four Thousand Islands Curry (spice!) to Fried Whole Tilapia (get the Tilapia, it's amazing). The menu is full of food puns and the aesthetic is very pretty/Instagrammable. Our server was great at giving recommendations for non-spicy as well as steering us toward crowd-pleaser appetizers and drinks. My only caveat is be prepared to wait a while for your dish to be prepared, which is probably why an appetizer of Candy Pork or Purple Galaxy drink is good to have.
Yummy adventures await! At first, I was skeptical when reviewing the website because of the playful names on the menu, thinking it's a tourist trap. However, I am a believer after tasting the delicious, authentic food 😋; it is worth the one hour drive. I'm definitely looking to explore the rest of the menu.
Went for lunch on 11/21. Ordered the "Bermuda Triangle" (minced shrimp and chicken in lightly fried triangular spring roll wrappers) and Sunset on Mekong River which consists of chicken thighs with curry paste, coconut milk, basil, bell pepper, and pineapple over jasmine rice. (I might have preferred chicken breast to thighs, but I know that's an individual preference and that thighs are more moist.) My food was delicious, perfectly seasoned. Food choices were varied and interesting. Service was prompt and friendly. Prices were reasonable. Atmosphere was clean and modern, tastefully minimalist. Would look forward to returning.
Just tried this place tonight. To cut right to the chase, if you are reading this wondering if you should try this place, the answer is a
is a resounding yes!
To start with, the food was all incredibly good. All the meat in the 4,000 islands curry and baby monster soup was well seasoned, spiced, and cooked. I was worried at first that the pork in the soup would be difficult to eat given that it still had the bone and cartiledge, but everything just fell right off the bone/
cartiledge while eating and it was so tender. The Lao fried chicken was crisp on the exterior and juicy in the interior. The Bermuda triangle appetizer was nicely fried and great with its dipping sauce (but not over reliant on it as I could have just eaten it plain and it still
would have been seasoned well enough to taste good) . Lastly, the pandan creme brulee was just a great creme brulee with a nice addition of coconut.
Outside of the food, the restaurant looked really nice and well kept inside and our server was absolutely wonderful.
I will be back soon no doubt to try some more off this delicious menu and hopefully the beer Lao once they get the go ahead to sell it! Eat at this place, it deserves tons of support!:
Went here a week ago with an old friend. We made reservations but didn’t need them since it wasn’t busy when we arrived.
What We Ordered:
Food: Sinh Skirt Shrimp, Coconut Milk Soup w/ Chicken, Lao Udon Soup, Laotian Papaya Salad, and Doesn’t Ring a Quail
Dessert: Fried Me to the Moon
Drinks: Sweet Tiger Taro, Dirty Black Tea, and Nightfall
The portions? Massive. Perfect for sharing.
Ask for recommendations, they give solid ones.
nice ambience and relatively new deco. The food is great!!! full of Thai and Lao flavors. Good service. Will frequent this restaurant.
The food was incredible, the perfect amount of spicy for me. The place is clean and the service was outstanding. Highly recommend.
I hat the melting pot dish and the rice me up! :)
Delicious.

We ordered a delivery from GrubHub. The food arrived on time and was packed well. The food was good, except for the pork belly (Belly of the Beast), which was overcooked and dry. Otherwise, quality ingredients, generous portions and nice presentation. We will order again.
Really cool new place. Each dish is very well seasoned and the flavors are strong. I was pleasantly surprised by the unique preparations of the entrees. The creme brulee desert and the rice me up salad are must orders
Overall: 5/5
Food: 5/5 - We got the ribs in peace, 4000 islands curry and the melting pot and they all tasted great ! We both loved the ribs in peace the most but all the orders tasted great.
Value: 4/5 - Pretty standard for what you get but the taste and quality of the meal was great !
Service: 3/5 - Our server was slow and did not check up on our table but maybe it was just an off day. I would still come back maybe for take out.
Overall, all the food orders tasted great and although the service was slow, I would definitely come back for a take out order again.
Ordered food 07:15pm and food didn't come out until an hour later. Other tables were serviced before we even got our food. Then when paying for the food. Friend of mine was rudely asked for tip even after the poor service.
Food took legit took one hour to come out. Waiter very rude. Complained tip was too low. Wild.

The food is delicious. My wife and I loved the spare ribs and the creme brulee!

Really enjoyed trying Laotian food, which we've never tried before. It was a bit challenging for my son who is vegetarian but he had the roasted nuts, taro tempest and Herbal Orm without meat. The rest of us had curry puff, dandelion, Nem Nom Nom, fish tofu. The Dandelion was really unusual but very pretty with meatballs on sliced tangerine rounds. We also had pandan crème brûlée and Have Bean A Lao for dessert. Didn't expect HBAL to be savory. I enjoyed the sugar cane juice and the mocktail drinks were special too. Overall a nice dinner outing for us.

Based on the race reviews we heard about this place, we definitely wanted to check it out. They have sign saying: soft opening. So I think things may change in the future.
Modern cafeteria feel, with lots of space but cute. Sound level: must speak with slightly raised voice.
Service: Attentive and friendly.
Food: Each meal has a cute name with a description underneath. We had the Bermuda Triangle and Lao and Roll both were ok but bland. The Nem Nom Nom was tasty but dry with a side of pickled vegetables. The Spaghetti Pho was a huge bowl of soup that was hard to eat because of the pork spare rips in the soup (messy) it was spicy but filling.
The presentation was lovely for all meals.
The place has potential making changes to the food.
Great food here, not huge portion size but I am fine with that since the quality is good. A lot of fresh herbs and well cooked meat that tasted flavorful and fresh. I had the papaya salad, the viet-Thai sausage, the stewed beef with dill and sticky rice, and the vermicelli noodles with boiled egg. I would say none of it was very spicy at all except the papaya salad had a little heat. I might look for spicier dishes next time. The pandan crème brûlée was really good!
Great food. Nam Khao was the best. Interesting culinary twist on authentic lao dishes.
We started with the curry chicken puff as an appetizer. Was a little bit small but tasted good nevertheless.
The dirty black tea was very refreshing, and as a non-coffee drinker I really enjoyed it.
The nem nom nom had a huge portion and was very well seasoned, and the pickled vegetables along with it were very flavorful.
The baby monster soup was incredibly tender, spicy, and comforting. Along with the sticky rice was good as well.
The ambiance of the restaurant was great, lots of greenery inside and felt very welcoming. Overall would come again! Plenty of parking nearby as well

Everything we ordered was super flavorful, unique, good portion sizes, and spice levels on point. Appetizers: Lao & Roll, Bermuda Triangle and Sinh Skirt Shrimp (a favorite) - all not spicy and kid friendly. Main dishes: Rice Me Up (crispy curried rice, cured pork), Nem Nom Nom (fried pork spareribs), Doesn’t Ring a Quail (fried quail), 4,000 Islands Curry (stewed pork spareribs, masala curry paste - a favorite), Lao Udon Noodle Soup (a favorite). Dessert: Pandan Crème Brûlée, Have Bean a Lao. Will definitely be back!
Absolutely delicious and flavorful food!! The customer service is fantastic as well. Highly recommended.

We stopped by here on a whim and it was the best decision. The food, the service, the vibe - 10/10. It was very calm in there and the food came so fast. A great place for a quick lunch or a great dinner if you like flavor. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I plan on coming back often.
Tried this new Laotian restaurant on Rockville Pike with some friends and we were so happy with the food, service and vibes! Very authentic and waiter was very accommodating. We ordered an assortment of appetizers and entrees. The desserts (especially the pandan crème brûlée) were so good. I’ll definitely come back!
I love this place the food was amazing and big portions. I love fried whole tilapia they already separated the bone and meat for us which is reasonable price with 24$. The sauce on the side is very yummy! Love it!
The drink also amazing I love the Purple Galaxy and Milkyway! My boyfriend try the first glass and order a bucket of that one and share with me just 17$ for big one. Will definitely going back there!
Amazing
Food is so good!!!!
