Brought our secret recipes sharing to tables, serving Thai, Sushi and (Tiki) drinks
Would give six stars if I could. My partner and I split a deep fried sushi roll (can’t remember the name) plus spicy pad Thai (add crispy chicken and shrimp) and drunken noodles. Everything was exceptional, but the pad Thai stole the show. PHENOMENAL flavor - best pad Thai I have ever had. Service was amazing.
The restaurant name intrigued me - I mean, how could it not? I placed my order due to the positive reviews on Google Maps of its vegan options. My order consisted of the Massaman Curry with soy vegan nuggets (with Thai basil and bean sprouts at medium spice level), Avocado Kyūri and Tom Kha Tom Kha Soup (with mixed vegetables). While I wish there were more bean sprouts considering the extra charge, everything has been delicious!
I was particularly appreciative when I called in, mentioned that I could not find parking but will try to figure out, and then they called back offering to bring my order out to me a little ways down the block where I was illegally parked. Initially, the woman said that their staff was all very busy and could not come out so this tiny gesture made a huge impact.
Thank you to the Keg & Kraken team for a delicious dinner after a 4+ hour drive to Portland! I will be coming back for sure!
Ordered a honeydew bubble tea, was disappointed. The boba pearls themselves taste weird and have a strange texture, and there seems to be absolutely no milk in this tea. I was warned by the person putting the food together that "honeydew and boba pearls do not go together" which confused me, as I know it to be a popular pairing. But I guess not the way they prepare it here. I've attached a Google image search of "honeydew bubble tea" to make the point in case anyone orders this expecting something else.
The best Thai place in Portland. The service is fantastic every time. They are incredibly friendly and welcoming. There is the natural brick and rafters which they have accented with modern black light fixtures, unique wall art, and an iconic large clock. The tables often have fresh flowers, candles, and fun centerpieces. The drinks are also garnished with flowers and are tropical and vibrant. It makes me feel as though I’m on vacation. All the food is delicious, hot and fresh. The freshest beef I may have ever eaten was the beef skewers from Keg and Kraken. I’m from Nebraska; I’ve had Omaha steak in Omaha, I have no idea how Keg and Kraken got fresher cuts than that, but the beef was amazing and tender. Both their curry and sushi are excellent choices. I’ve never had a bad meal or experience there.
Went there Friday night for dinner, ordered 5 rolls.
Seated immediately, provided with waters and menus as expected however there were two sets of menus that we had to request the sushi menu.
We waited about an hour for the rolls to be delivered as they were completed. The quality of the sushi was mediocre. The construction was poor as the rolls were falling apart and the flavor was lacking.
All in all it was almost 100 dollars for these rolls with 1 drink. While the service wasn’t terrible the food and cost were the most disappointing. I do recognize this is not an actual sushi spot but they do advertise sushi and if that’s something that you’re interested when dining here please choose another place.
Additionally I want to mention that I noted the microwave being used several times throughout our 1+ hour dining experience.
This is very very off putting when wanting quality food at a dining establishment.
Best sushi in Maine! And one of my favorite places to get food in the state as well! Never had a bad meal and even when I want to try a new dish I am never unsatisfied. I personally like the amount of things to choose from.

The fried chicken pad Thai was really good and so was the duck ragoons
Orange chicken to die for!
I got take out but had to sit and wait 30 minutes later than when they told me to pick it up so I might as well have dined in. No apology for wasting 30 minutes of my time, just the standard "we got busy" excuse. The atmosphere is too compact for me. People are basically sitting on tip.of each other. The dumplings were stale and not very good. The sushi was pretty good but everything is a bit overpriced. I'd stick to Yosaku or Benkay for sushi.
The food is delicious and the service is excellent!! The spicy pad Thai is a must! The owner even hooked us up with free apps a couple months ago to show us their appreciation! Thanks Keg and Kraken!

Asian fusion and really nice staff. I've been there a few times, I'm sure I'll go again soon!
DELICIOUS! The sushi was so fresh and the atmosphere was inviting. The service was lovely, I will definitely be back soon!
This is a staple in my and my boyfriend’s restaurant rotation. It is so consistent and always delicious. The staff is super friendly and happy to help make dishes plant based. I recommend the red curry with steamed tofu, it’s incredible! We will continue to come back!

Food is decent! Pad Thai is very sweet but the crispy chicken is nice.
Definitely a good place to go and get great food, even vegan friendly. Went twice during our week long stay. People are awesome, allowing us to accommodate 10 guests on very short notice where others didn't. Made our party very happy! 😊
I had gone several times but what was once a solid great dish changed flavor dramatically and was way overly salty, to the point of intolerable. I left and went somewhere else, very disappointed. I don't see myself going there and repeating the experience so won't return sadly
Was doing a show at Geno's down the road and swung in for a bite to eat. Boy was I glad I did. I had the Pad Thai bento and it was one of the best Pad Thai I've ever had. Everything from the miso to the side salad and app sampler included were delicious. My friend for some sushi and was VERY impressed. Service was prompt and ideally attentive. The atmosphere was cute. I'm in RI and I'm already looking for excuses to return to Portland just to go back!
Unbelievable how good the food is!!! Highly recommend the orange chicken (crispy and fresh orange flavor). The pad Thai was the best too! Great atmosphere and service to top it off!
Awesome restaurant with a beautiful atmosphere, very friendly staff, delicious cuisine (like my mama used to make!!!)
Don't leave before you eat the mango sticky rice!!!
I have been to Thai restaurants all over the US and the far East…this is one of the best Thai restaurants I’ve ever eaten at…the Thai tea is to die for…. sushi was fresh and full of flavor. Nissan and Natasha are fabulous together. The meal wasn’t just a meal, it was an experience. We will be back…..
I really like this place, the food is very good and they treat their customers very well.
I feel at home
Crab Rangoon and spicy pad Thai were both 10s across the board!
Food was so Amazing! Great Service also. We will be back again for sure! ! !
I’ve always been interested in meeting new cultures, however I’ve never been in Thailand before but through this restaurant I feel no different from Thailand…
Big thanks go to the team same as Natasha as a role model for her kindness, skills and motivation by turning this restaurant into a flexible place of interaction and comfort.
Thank you
Nice gluten free options, friendly service
The best Thai food in Portland and even the world. The service is impeccable. The owner makes sure all dishes are made to your liking and special requests are graciously accepted on the main menu. Dishes are delicious and filling. Lucky you will probably have leftovers for your next days lunch. Thank you for a wonderful di I g experience and meal.
Great pad thai and khao soi. Super nice with my baby, patient and accommodating. Food a bit pricey but loved the service.
Great food, cooked to order, staff very friendly, helpful.
Got delivery. The mango sticky rice and the crab Rangoon sushi roll were INCREDIBLE
The sushi and mango sticky rice were life-changing
Really beautiful interior, incredibly friendly staff, and amazing food! Their menu has plenty of vegetarian options, which isn’t always guaranteed. The curry and pad Thai were so good, but the tom kha blew me away! Some of the best I’ve ever had and I’ve had it a million Thai restaurants. You can’t go wrong with this place!

Ordered a pad Thai bento box which was absolutely amazing. I shared a wonderful tasting drink with a very good friend called the missionary downfall. I would order this drink in a heartbeat again! I will be going back to this place. It was a nice way to celebrate my birthday.
I was at a wedding where they catered the event. The food was spectacular! The smoked duck appetizer was unbelievable. Do not miss an opportunity to give this place a try. Lisa seemed to be the chef in charge. A lovely soul.
Ordered takeout from here. Food was decent. But we ordered an alcoholic drink which wasn't included. Not a big deal, we called the restaurant and said we would get a refund. Except instead of a refund they gave us store credit. We live 2 hours away and we were just in Portland for the weekend, a store credit is useless and not the same as a refund.
The food was good, which is the unfortunate part.
Great food, good drinks, and the location is awesome. Walking distance to anything you want in downtown Portland.
Keg and Kraken is an excellent restaurant in Portland. My husband and I really enjoyed our meal. The Tom Yum soup is flavorful and perfect. The orange chicken phenomenal! I highly recommend this restaurant.
Very wonderful experience every time I visit the food is delicious everyone is so nice just go and enjoy
We took my 12 year old son for his birthday to have his first Thai food experience and this place did not disappoint! We tried sushi and dumplings and pad thai, udon noodles. We got a plate of all different tastes. Fried ice cream at the end topped us off. Super cute inside and the staff were so nice. We will absolutely go again and want to bring other friends and family
This is my first to try Thai restaurant in Portland, ME, and this one is my favorite right now. First impressions are perfectly satisfied, the quality of the food, service, and atmosphere are so good. Even though I’m thai, the food makes me feel like my hometown. You will never be disappointed by the restaurant; I can guarantee.
I love this place! The food is delicious and the family who owns it is very kind. When I asked my server for gluten-free soy sauce, she alerted me to the fact that I had accidentally ordered a dish with wheat in it, remaking it for me immediately. I really appreciated her help with my dietary restrictions. It’s sometimes hard to find asian food that’s gluten-free, but this place has a lot of options and it’s very good! I had the pad Thai and tuna sushi
Delicious food, friendly service, fair prices - we will be back!
Fantastic food, great service, good time
Cute little restaurant, with a wonderful mishmash of cultural influences. The interesting name brought us in, but the quality brought us back. The prices are good, and the food is even better. We had a lovely waiter named Natasha who made our night with her hospitality.
We had a romantic and delicious Valentine’s Day dinner❤️
Our excellent waitress Natasha recommended the Kow Soi and we loved it. It reminded us of dinners in Bangkok👏🏻💕 Definitely 5 ⭐️s
Unassuming place on Congress. Great service, simple atmosphere. Delicious food. Honey ginger tea, Chicken Krapow, alligator and crunchy spicy tuna roll. Will be back!
The name might seem odd for a Thai spot but please, please do yourself a favor and come here. This is probably the best Thai I’ve ever had, me and my friend were both stopping every few bites to go “this is unbelievable”.
Add to that: the service was exceptional, so friendly, so welcoming, and the prices/portions are really solid. Highest recommendation.
I was a customer of the previous restaurant at this location, and since it's become Keg and Kraken I've been even more. They have a great menu of drinks, tasty sushi and their appetizers and entrees are so delicious. Favorites of mine are the shumai, yellow curry and sweet potato rolls. Their sushi is freshly made and the service is fantastic. Highly recommend!
Service was fantastic and the food slapped. Also very great interior aesthetic. Recommend the spicy eggplant 😊
By far, the best and most authentic Thai food and great drinks! Natasha makes the atmosphere so inviting and the service is unmatched. I dare you to compare it to your favorite Thai place. You won't regret it.
Delicious. Will definitely be back.
Excellent ramen and sushi
Great first impression! Food and service are terrific!
Think this is an upgraded Thai/sushi from what used to be in this location. Solid and tasty.
This is my first time for Thai food in Maine and will be a gem for sure. Incredible experience. Food (Pad Thai, Khao soi, sushi rool) was so delicious. Great taste on the entrees and beautiful presentation. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Servers was wonderful and lovely. Don’t miss the dessert (Fried Dough and Mango sticky rice) were awesome!!!!
Food & Service was exceptional!!
Great place! Loved it
Hands down one of the best and most surprising dining experiences I've had in a long time! I was blown away, and I highly recommend!
We went following the recommendation of one of our friends, and prior to this I honestly didn't know about this restaurant or that it had recently opened. I had been to the space before it changed businesses, and I remember feeling it was cold and uninviting. I wasn't sure what to expect of this new restaurant. I was immediately impressed as soon as we walked in, and the entire experience was nothing short of exceptional. We were greeted by Natasha, who was also our server. She was incredible! I've never had a server so friendly and enthusiastic. I could tell she's very passionate about what she does. The space was warm and inviting, and very clean and well-kept. It was perfect for a cold and rainy Friday evening in December. The food was incredible. Everything was just perfect! I'm so glad our friend recommended Keg and Kraken, and we're already looking forward to visiting again in the future!
We stopped in after art walk today and everything was fantastic! Immediately we got the warmest energy, and Natasha greeted us in Thai. She is the sweetest person. The rest of the staff were awesome. We forgot to take pictures of our food, but suffice to say that everything was great! We ordered the Tom Kha with chicken, shumai, some sushi rolls, cream cheese rangoon, green papaya salad (we're snobs about this one, and they win the lottery!), and the crispy chicken volcano... yes we know how to eat well. Keg and Kraken are within walking distance from where we live, so I'm glad it's only a short walk away, a plus for us! We'll see you again, soon!
Great food and incredible service!
I came in for dinner celebrating our brothers birthday and had a wonderful experience! I order the Thai tea boa, super tasty, a miso soup and the sweet potato roll. It was al very delicious, id recommend the Thai tea as it was my favorite! They were also so lovely working with my husband's fish allergy, thank you so much! I definitely recommend this place!
The place looked absolutely charming and warm and inviting, the staff were WONDERFUL - my server was just marvelous, so friendly and courteous - as were the other staff I interacted with. And most importantly the food was incredibly delicious. (I had the chicken Khao Soi.) Will definitely be returning and would recommend to all.
Stopped here before a show at State. The service was great and the staff was very friendly. Our drinks and food were served pretty quickly and everything tasted pretty good. As a group we tried a couple appetizers, some sushi and the Spicy Pad Thai which was the highlight for sure. I think we all had food envy after trying it. The “super spicy” roll was a bit of a disappointment. It tasted good enough but wasn’t even close to as spicy as the Pad Thai. Pretty sure the raw jalapeño slice was the only thing giving it any semblance of spice. Overall 4 stars. I’d definitely go back to try more of the Thai menu.
Staff was friendly, food was delicious and fast. Great atmosphere. Should be better known as Portland premise sushi spot plus they offer sake bombs!!
We made a reservation for 13 people for a birthday. They happily accommodated our party and provided a great service for the whole group. Service was timely, staff was very polite and provided sake bombs for the crew with great energy! Food was amazing and servers were very attentive. Such an underrated place in portland!
Absolutely tasty food . The fried calamari is the best I’ve had in Portland. Definitely my new spot
Friendly staff and quick service. We order the this drink that came in a whole pineapple and it was the best!
The atmosphere was great. Staff were quick to seat us and get us our menus. Highly recommend and will be coming back.
Absolutely love Keg and Kraken! Mouthwatering food, friendly staff, and impeccable service. It's a must-try for any Thai food enthusiast!
Keg and Kraken is a great place to go out with friends. Delicious food and welcoming, cozy atmosphere. Natasha made us feel at home as soon as we walked in. She noticed we were celebrating a birthday and she and her crew went out of their way to make our friend feel special.
Lots of vegan, gluten free and drink options for everyone in our party.
I'm so glad we finally stopped in, and I can't wait to go back!
Food was delicious and prompt service was excellent !
I feel so special when getting service from Nathasha and Annatasia
Very good restaurant! Friendly staff and wonderful food!
Lots of gluten free options. I loved the spicy pad Thai- spicy but not overpowering. So fresh and full of veggies!
Delicious food, great service, busy but not noisy.
This place is so comfortable and the food is delicious. The atmosphere is laid back and very welcoming. Keep up the good work. Try this place you won't be disappointed.
Best service and Thai food!!!!! 10/10
Great, friendly service. The curry and pad Thai were both very tasty
Also go for the mango sticky rice
Quite possibly the best Thai food in Portland! They do sushi as well but we'll try that next time.
The waiter was wonderful and made good recommendations. We ended up ordering a load of apps and a couple entrees. I always get a pad Thai my first time at a Thai place and it was delicious.
Great place. Food and service. Loved it.
Loved Keg and Kraken! Such friendly service and great food. Happened upon it when looking at Google maps along Congress, and so happy we chose it! Don't live in the area but if back in Portland would definitely return. We had 2 sushi rolls-the spicy (or crunchy?) salmon and another...I think the crunchy shrimp. Both were very yummy. We also had the spicy Pad Thai which was excellent!!
So the only reason I did 3 stars for atmosphere and service is because I ordered online through 2Dine-in and therefore have no clue what it looks like inside or how their service is.
I can say their food is really good, and they package it really well for delivery. Will happily try dining in next time.
Always amazing food and great service. Seriously the best pad thai I’ve ever had. 10/10 every time!
The best experience ever and I've been to other restaurants but this one I love and will be back every time I come to Portland
The service was friendly and attentive, the food came out quickly and was delicious. This is going on my list of places to consider when I'm in Portland.
The vibe and atmosphere is great. It was a great experience and I am pleased to come again.
Very poor service as though they did not want serve me and my wife. Hey black people have money too. Will not go back.
So. My wife and I come up to Portland every year from Long Island because we know what a little treasure this town is, shhhhhhhhhh 🤫. Keg and Kraken is another treasure in a city where the competition must be fierce because almost every eatery is top notch quality and ingredients. Everything we had was delicious! We'll be back next year.
Amazing veggies curry puff .
We had the best service ever (thanks Boom!), and the chef was so kind. Such a beautiful space and welcoming environment.
Absolutely amazing. Cannot wait to come back.
First time eating here. Everything was above our expectations. My wife and I shared a wonderful food journey here. Started with an appetizer plate with crispy rolls, fried duck wontons, cream cheese Rangoon, and money bags. Then we shared a sushi roll with tuna that melted in your mouth. The sauces were amazing. Then our journey continued with our paths going in separate directions. I had the spicy pad Thai which was a heat experience I loved. My wife had regular pad Thai with shrimp and could not say enough about it. Then we enjoyed a dish of crispy chicken fried rice which had melt in your mouth chicken and the fried rice it sat on was so flavorful. The meal ended with a dessert drink that was a cup of purple delight. I can’t forget about the Cucumber Tini my wife had with the meal as she could not stop saying how refreshing it was. Not only will we be back we will be regulars here. I highly recommend it.
Came in and had a glass of sake and got takeout. Very friendly and attentive service. I got spicy pad Thai….. amazing. Will definitely be back!
The sushi and pad Thai were amazing! Also got some chicken scewers and Thai iced tea, yum. What made my experience so enjoyable was my waitress, Boom! She was very helpful when it came to knowing and double checking which items were gluten free and safe for me to eat. The menu has lots of gluten free options. Thank you keg and kracken!!
The place is very cozy and the service is good and the food is amazing. Best Thai food in Portland.
Love the variety of vegan options. They're actually so many that I always over order, which is fine because then there's still some left when my husband comes home from his quilting class.
The curry puffs are really awesome.
The owner Boom is very sweet and accommodating, and the rest of the staff is very friendly. I highly recommend the red curry.
Went for dinner and drinks pre-show. Did not disappoint. Food top notch. The tiki faithful would be impressed with the cocktails. Crispy duck wonton is out of this world. We’re not local, but we’d be regulars if we were.
Well I gotta say, Portland really surprised me. I'm not big on cities, but every restaurant I've gone to was amazing, the people I've met - albeit briefly, have been for the majority, nice and down to earth, including this place. The drinks here are phenomenal, and a few got put away. Scorpion bowl and Missionary are huge, so bring a friend to share, or if you're like me, don't. Very impressive, very tasty, sushi was out of this world, grill skewers were great, too! Waitstaff very quick and attentive without being overbearing. Good job guys, for real!
Ordered through doordash, everything in my bag was correct and tasted delicious. I got the chicken salad 5* spice, shu mai, and mango bubble tea. The mango was a little sour but the pearls were soft and chewy.
Truth be told, when I saw the name of this restaurant, I thought it was a pirate bar. It is not.
It is, however, fantastic! I ordered take away the other night and everything was super delish- spicy pad thai was to die for, the crab rangoons and gyoza were awesome, and the raw tuna salad is the stuff dreams are made of.
Definitely recommend!
Fantastic all around, everything was perfect and the pork skewers stole the show. The owner is the nicest person and told us about her inspiration for her food from her childhood. Will be going back very soon!
I was at another bar and local kitchen dude was like “you want scorpion bowls and the best dumplings? Go to keg and kraken” we were hesistant and decided to just go and boy was he right… omg amazing. They have a fried duck rangoon which is to die for.
Amazing all around experience! Great atmosphere, authentic food, friendly staff. Definitely a must to visit, one of the best experiences in a long time!
Fantastic! The staff is awesome, and they have the best orange chicken I have ever tried!!!
Phenomenal
Great food, staff, drinks and price!
Food was amazing. Great service. Highly recommend
I have nothing but positive things to say about this newly opened restaurant located in the heart of Downtown Portland. My partner and I went for dinner and we both left so happy!
Dozens (or what felt like hundreds at one point) of Thai classics and other Asian dishes -- including sushi -- filled up their extensive food menu, while the drinks menu provided everything from beers to shareable bowls and tiki drinks. We had the Sugary Mai Tai Bowl and it was delicious. It was indeed sugary, but totally doable if you split it with someone.
The spicy Chicken Pad Thai was packed with so many flavors and it definitely had a spicy kick to it. The Massaman Curry was simply amazing -- the rice was cooked to perfection, the chicken was tender, and the different aromas were prevalent. I could go a month just eating those two dishes.
We also had crab rangoons (some of the best I've ever had) and tuna rolls with plenty of spicy mayo.
A meal for two, with the gigantic drink bowl, one app, two sushi rolls, and two BIG entrees came out to around $100 after 20% gratuity.
Service was also great, even though they were quite busy on a Friday night.
Amazing food! Definitely a hidden gem. I live in the apartment building no more than 5 feet to the left of it and I never knew it opened but is now my new favorite spot!
This place 10/10 has the best Thai food in all of southern Maine. It is run by a very small staff who cares deeply for the quality of their food—so remember to be patient! It will be worth it!!! All of their ingredients are clearly fresh and the flavor combinations are to die for. They are also open late which is a huge plus with most other restaurants closing at 9 in Portland.
Favorite app: money bags
Favorite salad: papaya salad
Favorite entree: spicy pad Thai!!!!!!!! (Massaman curry is a close runner up)
Favorite dessert: mango sticky rice
I was pleasantly surprised when I first walked in to see a bar for rolling sushi, and then saw that the menu also had a lot of the normal Thai food that you’d expect.
The food was about a 4.5 if not 5/5, however the literal delivery of the food missed the mark. We had ordered Tom Kha Gai and some egg rolls as an appetizer and for them to come out first. While overall it took quite some time to get any food, the soup came out first, and about 10 minutes later, the egg rolls. Normally I’d expect both of the appetizers to come out together.
After waiting for a while, after devouring our delicious apps, the first main dish gets delivered. And after about 10-15 minutes, the second dish was delivered. By the time they the second dish was delivered, the first meal would have been cold if we didn’t share it right off the bat.
Overall, the food and quality was quite good, but ultimately I feel like they missed the mark on just delivering the food at the time that it would come out in a normal dinner setting, which was quite frustrating.
If you order takeout, do yourself a favor and show up an hour later than they tell you. And when you get there, be prepared to be ignored for another 20mins or so. Otherwise you will waste a lot of time. Such a disappointing experience.
Well, that experience is going to make every other restaurant in the area look bad by comparison. Ok. Here it goes:
Food: "Money Bags" for appetizers, they are delicious wontons with corn, edamame and something else, who cares. Volcano Chicken... I think... basically spicy crispy honey chicken, perfect. Pad Thai, only my aunt makes it better... that's the highest I can award any Pad Thai.
Service was wonderful, everyone was friendly, we were the only customers in at the time, so I won't include that wonderful bit in the review. But the staff really make you feel welcome.
The atmosphere is multitudes above any place I've ever gotten Pad Thai from. Someone took a lot of time to make this place feel young and new, while still a part of historic Portland. Very clean.
Service is amazing and the food is even better! Nisa is a delight and will work with all your dietary needs, I can’t wait to come back
Food was excellent! We had an early dinner for a larger group and everyone enjoyed their food. The curry was amazing!
Service was fantastic and best sashimi we’ve had in a long time.
We saw some photos in social media and thought we should stop in. I was super impressed! The staff were SO nice that I wanted to stay and chat all night. We had a warm sake which was yummy, and edamame and veggie gyoza to start. Both of the apps were delicious and only lightly salted which was great for my partner who has cardiovascular disease, so sodium is important. He had the spicy pad Thai which I tasted - it was really good, with well rounded, but punchy flavors. I had a few sushi rolls, mostly vegetarian and one soft shell crab. All were a great size and tasted delicious. I have to say that I look for sushi/sashimi spots with lots of vegetarian options because I really don’t love meat, Keg and Kraken had lots of veggie special rolls which was amazing!
We finished up with the ice creams and the sticky rice - the sticky rice was my favorite, and the green tea ice cream. My photography partner loved the coconut ice cream! We took a few bubble teas home for our daughter and they were well packaged for travel and tasted amazing.
We will definitely be back!
Great atmosphere, great food and even better drinks!!Excellent service and extremely attractive.
The food was amazing!!!
Highly recommend, definitely a gem in this area.
Wonderful staff, great atmosphere with the homies
Super cool atmosphere, and the food was so good I cried. the taro milk tea was absolutely nuts and I would inject it into my veins.
I had the pleasure of eating at Keg and Kraken on their soft opening night. Some
of the best sushi I’ve had in Maine. Just had the spicy tuna roll, and the texture and consistency of the rice was perfect, great flavor and super fresh. I also ate their HUGE portion of shumai and the Tom Yum Gai, both of which were awesome. The soup had the balance of full flavor while not being overpowering in either the sweet or spicy category. Really loved it and excited it’s opening up!
Good prices for hand rolls
Super fresh food, amazing variety and beyond attentive staff made my first visit with a friend a great experience! Got the pad Thai and some crispy wings as we were catching a movie right after, but the small plates and sushi options bear further investigation when I have more time!
The food is amazing, service is amazing. Definitely try the rangoons and their sushi!!! Very high quality, you will not regret it
Best boba I’ve ever had. Went with my girl friend and we both loved it. Definitely try the salmon and tom kha soup!
Absolutely delicious! We had sushi,
spring rolls, pad thai shrimp and Mai Thai everything was so good!
Friend staff and excellent service.Clean and organized.
Will be visiting again.
Overall, this place was Amazing and definitely a place to consider while in Portland.
I have a 5-topic, 10 point breakdown.
Food: The variety and flavor was stunning. I am very particular and my sushi and this sushi was great! They also had amazing noodles that were honestly one of the best I've had. Overall I think food is an easy 9/10. Keep in mind a 10 is a perfect score.
Atmosphere: Keg and Kraken has a very cozy.and soothing vibe and I would go here just to wind down. 8.5/10
Decor: Great theme! Gives you things to interact with and look at, it's an experience and I enjoyed it! 7.5/10 considering that some restaurants are extreme.
Cleanliness: honestly this was great!
Floor: practically spotless! 9.5/10
Cutlery: Not a single bit of anything! 10/10!
Other: I am not kidding you when I say I saw nothing! 10/10
Cleanliness score: If I average it would be so close to a ten so 10/10
Service: To me this is really important, it's one of those things that can either ruin somebody experience or make it 100X better! I have to say this, but the service was the tiniest but slow it ended up being fi e though. Other than that it was a really personal experience, and what I mean by that is they were very friendly and wanted YOU to have the best experience possible! I have an allergy to milk and wanted a bubble tea so they made one without and I liked it so they gave me a free one as we were leaving! Overall this place had amazing service 9.5/10
Overview: I went here 3 days after they opened and it was amazing, truly one of the best restaurants I've been to.
Averaging every thing give you a score of around 9 and dividing that by 2 gives you 4.5 and they just opened so I am going to give it a grand score of.........5!!!!
Amazing food, friendly staff.
