The origins of Thai cuisine can be traced to the ancient ‘Silk Road’. Thailand was a frequent stop between India and China, and the curries and stir-fried foods in Thai cooking are reminders of this past. But Thai cuisine’s true uniqueness results from combining these influences with indigenous aromatic herbs and pungent spices such as lemongrass, holy basil, and Thai chilies.
We endeavor to bring you the true cuisine of Thailand. As in Thailand, our menu items are served a-la-carte to be shared by everyone at the table. Each item is prepared individually using fresh ingredients and our own homemade sauces.
Little bit off the normal tourist route but if your in the mood for some Thai food this is the place to be. This was the best Thai I have had for as long as I can remember. We literally had 4 entrees and no leftovers, even got dessert. This place is easily in my top 3 for food in NOLA. Loved it.
Well it worked out for us to immediately enjoy the great food here after mardi gras parade. Enjoyed everything. Roti with the yellow curry started off for us on a great note. I loved the drunken fried though i should have asked for spicier than medium. Chili Oil here is spicy and a great substitute to spice up. My wife loved the hotpot. We’ve had better Mango sticky rice, Mango is not sweet which could be why we were disappointed.
Amazing food! I wish we had found the restaurant earlier in our trip! The restaurant is beautiful, the food is authentic, and it was hands down the best meal my friend and I had on our trip to NOLA. I wasn't thrilled with our reception at the hostess stand, our server ignored us for a long portion of the night, and I'm pretty sure he forgot to put in our dessert order because we waited 15 min for mango sticky rice. Thankfully, it was well worth the wait! Highly recommend going for great food.
The service really stood out and that's saying a lot for new Orleans. Our waitress made sure we got what we needed but her personality made the experience special. To top it off, the food was great. We had the drunken noodles and pineapple curry- both were exceptional. I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area.
Our Airbnb host recommended we tried SukhoThai and we are so happy we did! For appetizer we had the popcorn chicken, it was lightly breaded chicken thighs bites perfectly crispy and it was amazing! My partner has the sukho drunken fried rice with shrimp and he loved it! I had the crispy tamarind noodles with seafood combination and I was mind blown how good it was! It was the perfect blend of sweet, sour, and salty. Its now one of my favorite dishes of all time! For dessert we had the mango sticky rice which was absolutely delicious!
Our waitress was very pleasant and serviced us with respect. She refilled our water on a timely manner and checked up on us while we were eating. I got the veggie dip and sukiyaki which are different from the usual plates I ordered. They were savory but just not my palate. My friend gor the pineapple fried rice and was very satisfied. Overall great experience and I would come again.
I loveeee Tom Kha soup and this place nailed it. Super delicious and authentic! Good vibes inside and kind staff. The Panang curry and spring rolls were also on point!
✔️💙💙💙💙✔️
I had dinner there last night. The food was pretty good and my server was very nice. However, I ordered the tamarind whole fish. On the menu the price is stated and says that the fish is market price. The owner's wife took my order and never explained to me that the price of the fish would be a separate charge that you pay in addition to the price of the dish. Nor does it state that on the menu. When I got the bill I was shocked to see two different charges that read like I was paying for two entrées instead of one. I literally paid the full entrée price for the sides that came with the fish Then paid a separate price which was even more than the entrée itself for the fish. When I showed the owner's wife she said no, this isn't right, don't worry I will fix it. But she then spoke to her husband who came and explained that even though it isn't specified on the menu and his wife should have explained when she took my order, it was the price and they wouldn't change it. I've never experienced or heard of anything so absurd. I felt completely robbed! Thankfully the waiter was kind enough to give me a discount even though the owner wouldn't. I will never go there again.

Great place for Thai! Panang curry and Kee Mao noodles were very good!
Really nice Thai spot, a bit upscale but the fresh ingredients, innovative cocktails, and true Thai flavor make it worth the extra spend.
Amazing food, such a great place to experience
Everything was very good. Food was incredibly full of flavor.
Highlight for me would be that they have black rice pudding on the menu! Such a simple dessert very similar to mango sticky rice without the mango.
The meal was very good.
Yellow chicken curry is my fav
One of the best thai places I've ever been to. Great pad thai and soup and green papaya salad! Ambiance is nice. So good, we went back the next day
The curries we had were incredible, flavorful, and induced mmmm sounds from everyone. We had Panang & Pineapple. The Sake specials were great, make sure you have lots of people if you get the 24oz portion!
Unfortunately our mussel appetizer was not good at all. We didn't say anything because we didn't want to ruin the vibe, but eek.
Our waiter was kinda rude and seemed like we inconvenienced him. The other waitress with dark curly hair and freckles checked on us and was super kind. (We'll request her next time!)
One of the owners also came by the table. He was very friendly.
We'll definitely be back!

Excellent Thai cuisine, reasonably priced. Angela was a great waitress.
Excellent food and great portions. I had an amazing time.
One of the best Thai place, the taste, service and atmosphere was way tooooooo good and for Food, it was mind blowing. I would definitely come back here. Hidden gem, easy parking, cozy, nice staff. Loved it
Meh..
Loved the food, delicious dessert.
The pineapple fried noodles ARE MY NEW FAVORITE THING!! The spice blend is amazing, the seafood is cooked perfectly and the noodle texture is delectable.
I have loved this place for many years and when I try something new I am never disappointed.
Excellent food, friendly staff and good pricing.
Food is absolutely delicious! Service is very personable. Atmosphere is very calm and relaxing. And parking is a breeze! Thanks. Sukho!
Bigger portions or lower prices needed
My grand daughter and I had a beautiful dining & bonding experience. We can't wait to experience it all over again!!!
Great food! One of the most flavorful thai I've ever had. Ya can't go wrong with any dish.
Great experience with our big group ! Wonderful restaurant, great food and outstanding service. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening there. Keep it up. Cheers

Most fantastic food, great service
Never had anything off this menu that wasn't amazing. Prices are a little steep.
Ordered SukhoThai online via UberEats, where the prices were already higher than the in-person pricing.
I was given no utensils, even though I had marked that I would like utensils. Upon closer examination, it looks like the restaurant wants to charge $0.10 if i wanted a plastic fork with my meal. I spent over $50 on meals and they want to nickel and dime over a plastic fork?
That’s bad business.
Most bland and not authentic Thai food in the city or surrounding areas. Go anywhere else if you want real authentic and flavorful Thai food.
Excelente place! 1000% recommended.
Went during Southern Decadence with a group of 8. The service was amazing, and the food was so good. One of our group needed special assistance to get into restaurant. They were so helpful! Look forward to going back soon!!
We will definitely be back!

#1 Thai restaurant for foodie 2. She has been requesting it and not disappointed.
No authenticity in employ or building...but food..very good.
Great food and service! Server Tasheika C. was very friendly and professional!
I ABSOLUTELY loves this place. All the food was delicious, and the Dargon Puffs is probably my new favorite desert!!!!
Delicious food, coconut ice cream 🍨 dessert and good service.
Good Thai place and amazing Thai food, look no further, everything we’ve ordered here has been amazing .....The staff is amazing as well!
Absolutely wonderful! Food was delicious and Ryan and Ashton are the bomb!!
The food was fantastic! Especially for what we ordered, the price was very reasonable, and the service was great! We'll definitely be eating here again!
The vegan soup was delicious - wow. Exactly what I needed after a long day. Highly recommend!
Delicious Thai food!!!! A lot of vegan options! The drunken noodle was so good, we got it twice!
Ordered pineapple chicken curry , # 3 spice level. Great food, good value. We will be back.
I was not expecting to find the best vegan pad thai here in NOLA, the noodles and sauce alone had so much flavor nevermind the veggies and tofu. I will definitely be back anytime I'm visiting!
Tasty fresh and spicy!! The crunch of the tofu was amazing. Superb lychee martinis too!
Spectacular meal and service! Highly recommend this restaurant. I have a shellfish allergy and felt completely safe enjoying my meal.
Great vegan options!
Love this place. Great food, great service.
Quite a bit understaffed, but we had a wonderful waitress (wearing black cat ears). Definitely recommend... the best Thai food I've ever eaten!
Amazing food, great service, and the perfect music selection!
The vegan pad thai was delicious. My friend loved her green curry. The atmosphere was lovelly. Would go back in a heartbeat...
Terrible service, forgot to bring us water, despite being half empty it took 25 minutes for the waitress to come get our orders. Additionally the ran out of wide rice noodles and had to make substitutions. Overall underwhelming.
Great vegan menu! Thank you!
Delicious thai, great atmosphere. I will return here. 1 personal note: there are 5 levels of spice. I chose 1 level above mild and it was still a bit much for me. If you can't handle much pepper/spice, be sure to order "mild" or it could ruin your experience.
Good taste, quantity is average. I had two dishes and both had little amounts of chicken. Pay for extra chicken and a side of vegetables if you like more.
Really good Thai food. Great for vegans since they have a separate vegan menu. Highly recommend. Great Thai food.
This was my 2020 staple and is still my favorite comfort food to this day
Great vegan options. The food was amazing and catered well to the spice level. Recommended trying out the yellow curry and the coconut ice cream for dessert.
We are from New York and have mamy great Thai restaurants. We were definitely a bit skeptical about trying Thai food in New Orleans. This place did not disappoint. In fact, I wish we could fly back and have it again. It was that good. Dueing our trip we were visiting different restsurants recommened by the locals so we didn't want to fill up on food, therefore we inly tried the Pad Thai. Again it was excellent. The service was also excellent. Michelle was so sweet and we had great conversation with her. She even made us this little sample hot sause tray for our Pad Thai. With our meal we had this tea from Japan called Sencha recommened by Michelle. It was a.great flavored tea. Better than yhe usual green tea. We will definitely returned here on our next visit and Michelle we will bring you that NY pizza you requested. 😀
Everything I order here is always good!! Customer service is great as well.
Had an amazing time with the girls on Mardi Gras highly recommend
The absolutely BEST Thai food in the state of Louisiana! I loooove Thai and I have tried various restaurants and not one has come close to the level of satisfaction I feel every single time I visit this establishment. No matter which location I visit I am always pleased with the service, cleanliness, staff interaction and the amount of flavor that each dish provides. On this visit we were charmed by Michelle who we’ve met in the past at the Magazine location. She is always so welcoming and gives the best recommendations when I decide to deter from my usual entree. The Thai tea is always fresh and delicious. On this visit we had the shrimp in a pouch, roti with yellow curry sauce, the house salad with peanut sauce, Drunken fried rice with shrimp and a wok served with white rice called, “I love you my sweetheart” it had eggplant, zucchini, bell pepper, mushroom and onion, with ground chicken, three soy sauces and sesame oil served in a hotpot.
EXCELLENT CHEFS KISS!!!!
Great experience dining at SukhoThai. Walked over from my hotel to try it out, and I was pleasantly surprised. I don't eat Thai hardly ever, so my server was helpful in making recommendations, and I was very impressed with everything I had. Staff was friendly, food came quickly and was delicious. Awesome place!
This place is great, always fresh, and always friendly. Get the Green Curry 😍 also, the staff are real stars for putting up with all the old men who come in just to chat them up 🙄 oY
A Culinary Gem in NOLA!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My recent visit to SukhoThai in New Orleans left me utterly impressed! From the moment we stepped in, Angie's warm welcome set the tone for a fantastic dining experience.
Ash, the Manager, proved to be a culinary guide extraordinaire, effortlessly guiding us through the menu with flavorful descriptions and thoughtful suggestions. Expertise not only extended to the delectable vegan options but also showcased a deep understanding of the entire menu.
Our server, Ross, delivered a dining experience that exceeded expectations. Our dinner was a symphony of flavors that left us craving more. The vegan options were a delightful surprise, satisfying both our vegan preferences and the non-vegan guests in our party.
Charles, with his friendly demeanor, ensured our table was impeccably cleared, all while engaging in delightful conversation. The seamless teamwork and genuine hospitality demonstrated by the entire staff truly elevated our evening.
The comprehensive beverage menu was expertly navigated with Ash's insightful recommendations, enhancing the overall dining experience.
As a restaurateur myself, In summary, SukhoThai is a culinary haven where passion for food meets exceptional service. Whether you're vegan or not, this establishment is a must-visit. We left with full hearts and satisfied palates, eager to return for another memorable meal. Kudos to the entire team for creating a dining oasis in NOLA! 🌟🌿🍜
Food is always very good here. One of the best places for Thai in the French Quarter! The only downside is service is so so. Some days excellent some days not so excellent. Sadly that’s kinda to be expected in NOLA these days. Just go with low expectations to customer service and you’ll have a great experience!
Delicious food and great service. 3rd time here and it's always great.
The food was amazing. A must try in NOLA.
Waited 45 mins for Uber eats just to get it cancelled and to find out you aren’t open. The heavenly beef is good so 2 stars instead of one for ruining my dinner.
Nice food and friendly but inefficient staff: most of the food is spicy but we had to waive our waitress down to get water refills and inquire about desert.
Drunken noodles were good, Thai fried rice was okay. Service was slow.
Best Thai food I’ve had in years!
Sukho Thai in New Orleans offers a delightful culinary experience with authentic Thai flavors and a welcoming ambiance.
Sipping my first sake's drink was a unique and enjoyable experience, with its distinct rice wine taste leaving a lasting impression.
Our meal at Sukho Thai was a culinary journey highlighted by the flavorful Herbal Mussels, delightful Drunken Noodles, and the aromatic Seafood Tom Yum Noodle Soup. The Sukiyaki Noodle Soup added a perfect touch, but the Drunken Noodles stood out as simply awesome. The Thai coffee was a delightful ending to our Thai experience, adding a touch of richness to the meal. Overall, I highly recommend this place for Thai cuisine lovers.
Great options and an amazing atmosphere. We got some red curry and drunken noodles and both were tasty! We also had some chicken satay and they were perfectly done - tender and not dry. As someone who loves Thai food, this place is in my top 5 Thai restaurants.
Beautiful neighborhood spot in the French Quarter. Amazing food, staff and owners
Great Thai, reasonable prices. The HVAC was blasting and we moved to another table.
We had our rehearsal dinner for about 25 people here and it was fantastic! The staff and management were super accommodating and went above and beyond for us. Food was superb and our guests had a wonderful time.
Absolutely delicious food and great service!
Sukho Thai on Royal St is a hidden gem. We stopped by in November 2023 on our third day in New Orleans after trying most of local cuisine dishes.
The food was absolutely delicious! Perhaps the best Thai food we ever tasted. Flavorful, rich, perfectly done, with heat level exactly as ordered on a scale of 1 to 5.
The menu was so big that we had hard time choosing as many dishes looked equally appealing. We settled on Tom Kha Gai soup and Ahi Katsu for appetizers and Salmon Pineapple Curry and Green Curry with Scallops for mains. The soup was one of the best Tom Khas we had and both mains were amazing like out of this world.
The service was top notch as well. Our server Tasheika was very friendly, attentive, and helpful choosing dishes and the heat level of the food. We felt warm, comfortable and really enjoyed our dinner. Thank you!
We highly recommend Sukho Thai on Royal St if you like Thai cuisine and you are in the area! They are just one block away from famous Frenchmen St.
Food was really tasty and fresh. Nice ambience.
Wonderful Thai food served in a spacious location by friendly, professional staff. I'll definitely go back next time I'm in town.
Service is not good. Waited to be seated for 20 mins and had to keep reminding of our food order a couple of times. The service takes forever to respond and get food to the table.
Worst service
My wonderful retreat. 😊
I eat lunch here about four times a week. I’ve been eating here for 25 years.
They make you feel like family. 😊
The main reason I like Sukho Thai is because of the food. The sauces are sublime. Really exquisite. The lunch specials are reasonably priced.
The ambiance is relaxed and casual.
The wait staff really takes care of you. They are fantastic. The food comes out quickly. An “expediter” brings it to your table the minute it’s ready. This system really works well. You are never waiting very long for your food.
The staff is just so friendly, attentive and efficient. I see them all the time. They’re super. From manager Ashton to Tasheika, Maria, Ryan, Angie— all super efficient- very service-oriented. I highly recommend Sukho Thai, and we send our B&B guests here all the time. They love it too!!
Great food, excellent service.
Nothing negative to say! Great place to have dinner 😁
My absolute favorite Thai restaurant. I recently treated my son and I to lunch at the Marigny location for my birthday. My son enjoyed the Madras curry marinated Chicken Satay and sticky rice (he’s two) and he devoured it. I enjoyed the Tom Kha Thai Hot and the Char-Grill Waterfall Beef. First and foremost the food is executed and plated beautifully. The balance of flavors and freshness of ingredients is what sets SukhoThai apart from the others when it comes to classical Thai cuisine. The thai chilis impart a delicious heat that expounds upon the flavors of each dish without overpowering.
The ambiance and service at the Marigny location provides an elevated yet relaxed dining experience. The space itself is beautiful and quintessentially New Orleans. I’ve been coming here for four years and have yet to find a better Thai restaurant. The staff is kind, affable, and informed. They genuinely seem to enjoy what they do, and they do it so well.
Perfect portion for lunch! I ordered the lunch chicken Thai fried rice (no spice), and it was delicious. Friendly staff, very warm and welcoming. Ashton was great.
Large menu with special diet friendly items. The flavors were strong and balanced. They were able to turn up the heat. Service was excellent. Wow.
They accommodated our 11 top table easily, the lunch was delicious. Service was great.
Small portions for mediocre food at exorbitant prices for the quality.
I got delivery, and though I believe I ate at the restaurant a few years ago with a positive experience, I wouldn’t return based on this instance. I got a small portion of drunken noodles, and an order of fresh veggie rolls. I would recommend to the restaurant that they don’t cut their fresh rolls into pieces for take out - they were a mess and not worth 10 bucks!
Delivery - WoW OK Y'all. I don't normally have issues with your food, especially since I order the same thing most of the time. But, today I ordered the Pad Kee Mao and I am incredibly disappointed. My vegetables are not cooked at all...like no attempt to stir-fry was even initiated. I feel like I'm eating a hot salad. Even the thinly sliced carrots and green onions are still crunchy. Also, it seems my order was confused for a lunch portion yet still charged for a full order. It's whateves...I don't want a refund or any other entitled nonsense. Just do better, because I am incredibly unsatisfied this time around. As I write this I am recooking my food.
[Vegan friendly] this restaurant has a separate menu for vegan and vegetarian dishes. The menu features a variety of classic Thai dishes, such as pad thai, curry, and stir-fries, all of which are made with vegan ingredients. We also ordered a few cocktails, and they were all very good. The Lychee Martini was my favorite.
The restaurant is located in a charming neighborhood. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, making it a great place to enjoy a casual meal with friends.
Plenty of delicious vegan options. The garden soup was perfect.
Great food. Great price. Great service.
Large vegan menu. Loved the vegan pad Thai and the serving was plentiful. Our waiter was excellent and food was served quickly. I will definitely come back. It's a great option for vegans or vegetarians who are at the far end of the French Quarter or Marigny and looking for a delicious and filling meal.
Always a great meal!
I ordered nearly $50 worth of food for delivery. When I received the food, there were NO UTENSILS in the bag!!! None. When I called to inquire I was told you have to opt for utensils. Seriously?!? Why would you have to opt for utensils on a delivery order?!? Times are not that hard. Give your customers utensils with their orders. Jesus. Luckily I was able to find some plastics so my friend and I could actually eat the food. The food was very good though! Just needed utensils to eat it.
Second time we have had dinner here. It was delicious again.
The pad thai is the best in the city.
The red curry was underwhelming and the thai tea was disgusting. For $32 on Uber Eats, I am left unsatisfied.
This is definitely the most authentic Thai restaurant I've been to. Coming from Birmingham, AL there aren't a lot of options but this is definitely the best food overall I've ever had. If I was staying in New Orleans longer I would come here every day to eat. Everyone is super nice and the food is incredible. I got the Tom Yum Noodle soup with the Seafood Combo and it's absolutely incredible.
I love Thai food and this place did not disappoint. Good food, strong drinks, beautiful location and great service. I had a lychee martini and the drunken noodles w/ veggie rolls as an appetizer. Highly recommend!
My favorite spot for authentic Thai. They have consistently GOOD tasty food, it's not overpriced, decent portions, and fabulous waitstaff. This is my go-to spot, highly recommend. ❤️🤘
Best Thai food I have ever had and my wife who loves Thai couldn't stop talking about it. With all the restaurants in New Orleans who would have imagined this gem would exist just past Frenchman Street. Was so cool to see regulars walk in and the staff call them by name but someone on their first visit was treated just the same.
The food is really really good. I had the Tom Yum Chicken bowl and grilled beef salad. They both were very delicious 😋 I definitely will be ordering from them again. They are on Uber Eats....
Definitely not bad Thai.
had the red curry with beignets for desert curry had good flavor at a lvl 3 spice
Ashton was THE BEST. Completely knowledgeable about the city, the food, and the drinks. I will definitely go back!
Pineapple fried rice with chicken. That’s it. That’s all I need to say. Amazing food. Anything you order will be amazing.
We like to try a new Thai restaurant everywhere we go and this is by far our favorite! There is a whole page of vegan options and even though I’m not vegan I would have never known my partner’s dish was vegan it was so delicious. Everything was pure perfection including the service. Our server even gave us suggestions of vegetarian friendly places in the area for our next day of touring the city. Pictured is the vegan pineapple fried rice and drunken noodles with duck.
Attractive little restaurant, quite elegant. We had a large party, and they were very accommodating! Very friendly, good prices, the food was delicious too! Will be back.
Came here for my bachelorette party and it was so good. Everyone in my party had nothing but good things to say. I had the Tamarind Noodles and they were delicious. Will definitely be back
We went there very late in the evening around 9.30. The AC was a bit too strong.
Food was nice, but the portion was very small, even for a small person / in European standards. I wasn't satisfied after having my drunken noodle dish. The flavour was good but too salty to my liking - maybe because there weren't enough rice noodles. For this reason, I think it didn't appear to have good value.
The scallops in the noodles were nice. Prawns nice. Calamari was a bit overcooked.
I tried a bit of the vegetable red curry of my partner's, and the flavour was good.
The questions is, will I return when next in New orleans? Hum, probably not, unless the portion size is greatly improved.
Good flavor, tasty drinks 4 years ago today may 2023 a little disappointed in the server was inattentive, food was cold and drinks were blah
The most delicious Thai food that I have ever had
I'm definitely going back
Aston, our server was very pleasant and nice sense of humor
Very good food. Very poor service. Slow and inattentive. Would not come back. But, give them a go for the food.
Drunken noodles with pork belly is the best Thai dish I have ever had!!
Quick service and nice tastes
