We ordered the Pad Thai, and Basil Fried rice. We opted for pork versions of both.

The fried rice was great and aromatic. The pieces of pork seemed over sized and could be smaller to better facilitate a smoother over all mouth feel. Sometimes it felt as if you had to choose between solely eating a piece of pork or enjoying the fried rice.

The Pad Thai was to saucy for my taste. I prefer a traditional drier Pad Thai. The dish was good though, although I wouldn’t order it again.

Very good service, and food was delicious. Appetizers were great, I am not a big fan of tofu, but the fried tofu was from another world, I would definitely ask for the same appetizer next time. I think there is room for improvement when it comes to the atmosphere, either they make it cozier or more elegant.

The food came out in a reasonable amount of time, and the staff were friendly. One last observation I had was that the mild spice here is practically no spice, so order accordingly.

It was my first time eating at this establishment and it was very good! The servers were very friendly at first walk-in. The restaurant is very cute and cozy feeling. Very clean as well. Their food is piping hot and served fresh. Did not disappoint! Their sample platter was a tad expensive for how much was actually on there but I can’t complain! ᵕ̈ overall I’d recommend!

Two visits and have had great food and service both times.

My wife and I really enjoyed the Khai Soi although we also had the roasted duck curry and Pad See Ew.

Service is top notch - friendly, helpful and attentative without being overbearing.

Do not order carry out through menufy. I selected 7pm for a pick up time and had to wait 20 minutes past the selected time for my food. All I was given for my wasted time was a few simple sorrys. Bad business.

Most of the food was okay except for the Khao Soi (Curry Noodle.) The chicken was somehow overcooked and dry while the skin was rubbery.

I think I will choose to drive 20 minutes further round trip rather than order here and wait.

My husband and I just had dinner here. We are so happy and satisfied with our experience! Their Rangoon dipping sauce is the best I’ve ever had. We also got the orange chicken, beef soup (pho), and honey ginger wings and they were all very good. Service staff were all nice and professional.

Too sweet and small portions

Posting after my third visit, and I've been happy every time. I've tried pork kra pow, chicken pad thai, and kha soi -- all delicious. I've tried a couple of bites of my wife's orange chicken and a curry dish. I'm pretty sure everything is good here.

Yesterday we were there at the busiest time on Friday evening, and although the service was outstanding, the ambient noise was a bit louder than I'd hoped based on previous weeknight visits. Small dining room, lots of happy people. Slight minus, but still five stars.

I ordered an appetizer for takeout and arrived at the restaurant 25 mins later. I immediately went to the counter to let them know I was there. I proceeded to wait an additional 25 mins while at least 10 other take out orders got sent out. When I asked for my order again, 50 mins after ordering, the lady didn't see my order and asked for proof of my order. Suddenly, it was found, and it was not fresh when I got home 2 mins away. Won't be coming back. It sucks because their food is great fresh.

We were seated immediately on a Saturday evening and the service was outstanding. Food was pretty good as well. Fried rice was a bit bland, but was a great addition to the AMAZING chicken lettuce wraps. I enjoyed the Thai iced tea as well. Glad we discovered this little place, and can't wait to go back and try some of their other menu items!

Found this surprisingly elegent gem in a strip mall in OP. The atmosphere is quite nice and very relaxing. The service was very good and food was outstanding. The crispy egg rolls were delicious, the Tom Kha Soup was vibrant and the Pho was also very good. We will be back to try the duck and other dishes.

We love this place. The atmosphere is great, they have fun lounge versions of songs you probably know. The Thai pho is amazing, it's a more full-bodied broth than Vietnamese pho. They also have a range of spiciness for their dishes so you can customize for your preference. They are always the friendliest people but not overbearing at all. Drinks are good, my favorite is the cucumber vodka lime basil cocktail. We have been here many times and have never been disappointed. They also have a rewards program that can give you money back to use on your next visit. Definitely give them a try!

Best Thai food in KC along with their parent company Bamboo Pennys. I’m usually here on a weekly basis. The service is the best. The food is as authentic as you’ll find. I order the spring rolls on a regular basis. They are fresh and have a nice crunch to them. I rotate entrees as I enjoy all of the different textures and flavors. One of my go to’s is the Grapow. And I order it hot 🌶️🌶️. Check them out!

My partner and I tried this restaurant for the first time yesterday evening and it was so good. We got the Pad Kee Mao and the Pad Thai and it was exceptionally good (they even offered to make the Pad Kee Mao gluten free for my partner so we could share). I also got the Mai Thai which was delicious. Our server was so positive and friendly I could have talked with her for hours but the other servers also went out of their way to be friendly and accommodating to the other guests. I will me coming back!

Ordered to-go tofu fried rice and crab rangoons. However, I don’t feel like the fried rice looked like “fried” rice - so I had to soy sauce it up myself. Lots of woody broccoli cuts sprinkled throughout, so I’m not too impressed. AND, to top it all off, those 2 things cost me $30+.

Amazing food and highly recommend Thai Paloma!

I love their service and atmosphere but the food is not worth what I got. Yesterday, I ordered pork belly with no bell pepper and to add eggplant, I got charged for $4 and I only got a few thin slides of eggplants. I paid about $26 after tax for my food, I think it's too pricy for only a few pieces of eggplants for $4.

I have been coming here for about 2 years now and I have not had a bad experience. The food is delicious and the servers are very personable.

I have not (yet) sampled the cuisine at KC Thai, but I need to commend the service and honesty of the staff. I searched for Thai carry out and ordered online, but I neglected to check the location. (a senior moment) KC Thai is located in Overland Park, Kansas. I live in Vancouver, Washington. I realized my error after paying when I went to my local Thai restaurant (Keo Thai) to pick up the order. They looked at me like I was crazy or confused - which was true. While I waited for my order at Keo, I call KC Thai and explained my error and that driving 1,800 miles was not an option. The person I talked with chuckled and said they would refund my payment, which they did. The next time I find myself in the Kansas City area I’m making a special trip to KC Thai.

I would say that I am a Thai food snob, after having very authentic Thai food in Texas. Waldo Thai has been the best I have found until now!! I had Basil chicken and the flavor explosion in the dish was fantastic.
Not only is the food divine, but the restaurant is clean and inviting, and the staff was great. Would recommend 1000% percent!

The more I fall into the Thai food rabbit hole, the more I appreciate the variety of Thai food they have on the menu beyond the “essentials”. Boat noodles, Crispy Rice Salad, Hoi Jor, Khao Soi… the lot! And that does not already include the delicious Crispy Pork Belly Stir Fry, Pad Krapow, Pad Krapow Fried Rice, or Crispy Pork Belly Pad Krapow! 😋😋

This is one of the very few Thai restaurants in KC that was bold to put more uncommon Thai dishes on the menu. Let me present you this: why go to steakhouse and just have A1 to go with it, when you can come here and have “Tiger Cry Ribeye” and have a good steak with a spicy, umami, and refreshingly tangy dipping sauce? Just look at it!!

A fantastic restaurant within walking distance from our sons house. Anytime we fly to Kansas to visit him we always go here to eat. Fantastic food and drinks with a great selection on their menu. Service is always good with helpful and smiling staff. Very affordable place for either a family or just a tasty midweek treat. I personally love their Yellow Curry with Chicken.

Great atmosphere and food. Really enjoyed our servers. I say servers, because they do a collaborative approach to serving tables. It works really well, and you don't have to spend part of your dinner scanning for "your" server for something. Just ask, and they bring the item with a smile.

The BEST THAI FOOD we've ever had! Hands down. Bonus points...the staff are amazing, down to earth and enjoyable to be around, plus the whole atmosphere of the place is lovely. Had a drink while we waited for the food to be made. Lots of orders going out the door. This place is a hot spot for good eats. We ordered the Pad Thai, Pho, Treasure Bags, and more. KC Thai has become our secret go-to, but it’s no secret because we are telling all of our friends to head that way. Their curries are unbelievable, the appetizers (crab rangoons and vegetable spring rolls) are probably delicious and sizable enough to call a meal, the service is exceptional, even down to the music. It’s never crowded, the staff recognizes you after a visit, and you want to relax and extend your stay as soon as you walk in. (The non-meat options are amazing, too).

Bamboo Penny’s has a long reach now over to the Southside, so find a reason to beat feet to KC Thai (coming back from high school athletics at dinner is our number one rationale!). You’ll be bummed only that you haven’t been here sooner. You’ll love the vibe here as we do!

I come here for the food, which is excellent, but I also come here for the service, especially from your male server - I don't know his name, but if you've ever been here, you know who I mean. He is spectacular. He treats all customers as friends. He goes above and beyond, whether it's helping someone decide on what to order, or anticipating customer needs before they even happen. Not to mention, he's SO MUCH FUN. I hope KC Thai knows what a gem they have in this server. Oh, and I recommend the Vietnamese soft spring rolls here - they're the best I've ever had anywhere in the KC Metro.

This is my new favorite Thai spot! From the moment I entered, the place looked clean and beautifully decorated. Our waiter Shawn was everything...full of personality. My friend & I order the Freestyle fried fish with sweet & sour sauce & spicy green bean stir fry. It was AMAZING! Beware! The medium spice for the green bean dish is a little hotter than you would expect. Great flavor and the portion sizes for dinner were plentiful. It was enough for us to share. I will certainly return.

I went to KC Thai after winning a giveaway on social media. The bartender greeted me and walked me through how to use the gift card. He also gave me great suggestions for the menu. I ended up getting crispy wings, spring rolls, beef noodle and pineapple fried rice. The food was really good. It was super fresh, tasty and flavorful. I’ve been looking for good Thai food here in KC and this is the best I’ve tried so far.

Our first visit & I had the Pad Thai with Beef at Medium. I like the Heat so next time it will be Hot, but it was Very Good. The smallish Rangoon’s are also really good. We’ll be back & soon!

I absolutely love the food here. It reminds me of my mothers cooking. I have ordered food from here more than a hundred times over the last year and wish I could eat here every day.

Unfortunately I wont be eating here any longer. Lately the food portions have been decreasing and while that would normally not really bother me because its not to a large degree. The PRICES are going up as well. Five dollars over the last year is a bit excessive. The latest increase was a whopping $2. I do not feel its worth while to pay more for less. Regrets.

Everything was wonderful with our first visit to this lovely little restaurant. The decor was very nice and comfortable, service was on point, and food delicious. We've frequented many Thai places and this one ranks highly with us. We'll be back!

I love their Pad Thai and Crab Fried Rice! Their Thai Milk Iced Tea and Iced Coffee is not super sweet.

This is now one of our favorite Thai restaurants. The prices are good. The food is exceptional. The service is excellent. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing. They play relaxing music in the dining area. We only have one complaint about our first experience here. The restroom didn't have a functioning toilet.
