My husband's family has been exclusively dining here for Thai cuisine for the last 30 years. The food is always good at a very reasonable price. This is my go-to for Thai food in Chicago. If you don't know what to try, you can't go wrong with their Papaya Salad and Pork Larb. So delicious!

I have been eating at this restaurant for almost 34 years and have never had a bad dish! I love the staff and the food. Everyone that works there is wonderful. I highly recommend especially the Garlic Chicken, the Pad Woon Sen, and the Pad See Ewe.

This place is so good That i rode my bike 5 miles from Old Town to Buena park with a negative 2 degree wind chill so that I could eat their basil duck and have a thai coffee. Worth it!

Everything was delicious. The portions were generous. Service was very good. Reasonable price. There’s a parking lot for free parking. I would definitely come back again.

Diner Review №16

A quick, affordable, and delicious Thai restaurant. It’s one of my favorite spots in buena park. Take out is usually ready within 20 minutes, dine in is similar.

Diner Review №17

Be careful, you'd better not come here. You can get to the hospital

Diner Review №18

This is one of the best Thai places in Chicago! I have been here 6+ times and the food is always consistent without fail. It always has the right balance of savory, umami, sweetness and acidity as well as fresh herbs and crunchy texture like peanuts to round out the experience.

I love the pad thai, panang curry, green curry, and Tom kha Kai! You name it, they have it! Highly recommend!

One of my favorite Thai restaurants in town. They serve causal home style authentic Thai foods. And the dishes we ordered are all very flavorful. The bamboo salad was fermented and tasted so special. Botha the rice dishes tasted very good also. Loved this place!

My favorite Thai place in Chicago. Affordable, good portions, great flavor, gluten-free accommodations, and best thing is they have a system that remembers your order as a regular! I always get the Pad See Ewe with tofu. I love the service!

Diner Review №39

We have been coming to Siam for years. This is one of the best Thai restaurants in all of Chicago based on taste, quality portion and the price of their dishes. This is a Northern style Thai restaurant so some of their dishes aren’t the same as other Thai restaurants; nonetheless, they are all very flavorful and very well done. One of their best dishes is the Pek Kee Mao (drunken noodle) with beef. This is the dish I always get and highly recommend to you if you happen to visit and haven’t decided on what to order. This dish combines, a variety of stir fried vegetables including bean sprouts, broccoli, bell peppers and green leaves that is truly unique to this restaurant and of course your choice of protein and their aprecia sauce. This dish isn’t too spicy and you may ask for additional garlic chili sauce (don’t use the siracha on this) if you wish for it to be spicer. This restaurant is popular you may want any to RSVP if you don’t want to wait or have a bigger party 4+. This restaurant is also BYOB which is great as they don’t charge you a bottle fee. Their Thai coffee is very sweet and I personally don’t prefer sugary drinks. Other dishes I recommend is the green curry and the Rama Curry with chicken. The chicken basil is very tasty as well. I highly recommend for you to visit if you enjoy Thai cuisines.

Diner Review №40

I think I've been spoiled by thai food on the Southside of chicago. Opart Thai and Blue frog are my go to's. Siam smells great but falls short. The panang curry is tasty but not as rich as I would have liked. The pad thai is a big fail for me. Does not contain peanuts and was red..I'm used to northern pad thai and this was a lacking for me. It was not bad, but not cravable. I will not be craving that pad thai ever. Finally, the crab rangoon had a another generic flair to it. It aired on the empanada side more so than rangoon.

Diner Review №41

First time trying this place out. The food was excellent. The dumplings were perfect texture not too soggy, great flavor. The noodle dishes same thing. I cannot stand when noodles are overcooked and break easily, these noodles were perfectly cooked. The veggies tasted fresh and the meat had good flavor. The staff were there just to do their jobs, they were not very friendly. Other than that I would highly recommend this place.

Incredible Thai for an unbeatable price. This is our default place to visit if we can't think of anything or don't have time in the day. Red Curry is my favorite, but they have other great dishes. Fried bananas are a sleeper hit as well.

I love a good mom and pop's restaurant. I was craving Thai food and this place hit the spot. The crab rangoon was cute and tasty, with a sweet chili sauce. The cucumber salad was refreshing. I appreciate a Pad Thai that's not dry, and it came with fresh carrots, cabbage, and lime. The mixed meat fried rice had fresh bean sprouts, nicely cooked scrambled egg, chicken, pork, squid, and beef. The staff was friendly, and the service was good. This was my first time there, and I am definitely coming back. I'm actually upset that I did not try this place sooner!

(Also, it's in a plaza, so you can park for free, or find nearby residential parking for free.)

Diner Review №57

Decent thai food. It is a good neighborhood option!

Diner Review №58

Diner Review №59

I like the food. Pretty authentic Thai food. I've been here a few times. I've been to Thailand before and can say this food is pretty authentic. With that said be careful with spice levels because when you ask for medium hot it comes "Thai medium", not "American medium". I like their basil chicken and also number 2 on chef specialities.

Prices are alright, especially considering they have a parking lot in a busy area with limited street parkjng. Great place to visit.

Pretty small place.

Diner Review №60

Good quality Thai food for a reasonable price

Diner Review №62

Most authentic Thai restaurant in Chicago no doubt.

BEST THAI FOOD IN TOWN ! I’ve tried a lot of Thai places and even went to Thailand and let me just say this place made me crave Thai food ! Me and my bf come here at least once a week . Our order is usually beef Pad See Ew , crab Rangoon and basil beef over rice ! U never can go wrong with Pad see ew it’s literally so good if u dont know what to eat get this . Dont even get me started on the Coconut ice cream with sticky rice ❤️ Also the owner and the waiter guy all are so friendly and funny .

Diner Review №65

Always amazing!

Diner Review №66

Disgusting food. In-edible, super oily, and it tasted very smoky, almost like pork for a vegetarian dish.

Diner Review №67

I'm pretty much always craving their beef fried rice. Also the Rama Chicken. Fantastic, authentic Thai food at a family-owned and operated place. They are friendly and knowledgeable - and they're happy to give advice if they have an idea of what you might like most. So many can't miss dishes here.

Diner Review №68

I get takeout from here usually around once/week. It is my favorite thai restaurant in the city. I love their baby egg rolls and panang curry with white rice. They do a great job accommodating any dietary restrictions, and the food is so good. I have tried many dishes and never had one I didn't like. The spice level is legit on their spicy dishes if that's your thing. Min is who I interact with the most, and she is so kind. I couldn't recommend this place more.

Diner Review №69

Absolutely delicious and authentic Thai.

Diner Review №70

Diner Review №71

This place is a classic! Their pad kee mao is the absolute best. They can make the pad Thai both vegan and gluten free upon request. We love it here

Diner Review №72

Amazing food, great staff - efficient, friendly. Easy to get to.

Diner Review №73

The service was great and the atmosphere was so welcoming! The food was served quickly and was delicious.

Diner Review №74

Too bad I didn’t take a picture of the plate, i ordered basil duck, family style without rice since I try to limit the carb intake. The plate was mostly bare skin rather than meat. I am a small size girl, not eating a huge amount of food but i left hungry and needed a snack after the “meat” portion. The two stars are solely for the nice people and cleanness.
Also did I get scammed on the price? although in their menu the it is 9-12$ my check was 17.66$… it’s hard to reason the quality or the price. 17$ for a plate of duck meat- sure, but the way it was, it is a shameful. It was nothing like the picture I’ve checked on other reviews. Whether it was a one time thing or not… I am not sure I want to repeat the experience to find out. Was happy to find a place on days spent studying at nearby library but I think I will not give it another try.

Diner Review №75

Nice chill clean restaurant. Fast and friendly service. Delicious food- had the chicken pad Thai, pad see ewe, cucumber salad and vegetable mini egg rolls. We left full and have a whole take home container. Great prices too!

Diner Review №76

Fantastic authentic Thai cuisines. They also serve some additional south Asian dishes including an Indian fried rice. The Thai green curry was one of the best I have had in Chicago and highly recommended. The quality of the beef was okayish but shrimps and chicken dishes tried were really good. Came for lunch and was not too crowded. Total value for money if you are not looking for a fancy ambience. Highly recommended to check out if interested in Thai cuisine.

Reading the reviews on google, we had high hopes on the Thai restaurant.
I’m surprised how they have such a good rating on google, as I was very disappointed with the taste and quality of the food.
We have stayed in Thailand for almost 6 years and understand how Authentic Pad Thai and Khao Pad is made but this place has not even closer to what authentic Thai Food.
I don’t recommend this place if you are looking for authentic Thai food.

Chicken quality in Pad thai was

Diner Review №91

My 1sy stop in Chicago and last stop before I go back to Indiana always.

Diner Review №92

But we had a lovely dinner. Authentic Thai food. (Sorry, no photos with this post. ) We especially loved the Pad See Ew and the Papaya salad. They don't have a liquor license, but there's a good liquor store a block north of here, to it's easy to pick out a bottle and take it back to the restaurant. (That ends up being a lot cheaper, too!) Enjoy!

Diner Review №93

Siam has become my absolute fav Thai restaurant in the city. I love coming here for both takeout and dine-in. The servers are always friendly and the food is just amazing. Nothing pretentious and just tasty fresh Thai dishes. My fav dishes: basil duck, pad see ew, fried dried beef, basil fried rice.

Diner Review №104

Was recommended this place and had high expectations. Went for a pad Thai, garlic pork and curry. Sadly the Pad Thai was not authentic- couldn’t taste the tamarind paste at all. It was towards the sweet side (tomato sauce?), without chives and peanuts.
Garlic pork was good but it was just pork and garlic without any vegetables in it (I’m not sure if it should be done this way).
Curry was a little too salty and meat/potato portion wasn’t very generous. Tasted like a normal curry. Nothing special.
Was kind of disappointed for our first visit. It wasn’t bad or anything but geared towards the local tastebuds I guess.
Might look somewhere else for the authentic Thai taste.

This place is honestly some of the best Thai food on the North side. The service is always friendly and the food is top tier for standard Thai (southern). I’ve had Pad See Ew & Green Curry to name a few, but realistically everything here I’ve had in the past is very tasty.

They are also BYOB which makes this place a no brainer for a dinner with friends or a significant other.

I will absolutely patronage this place as an Uptown resident and tell all of my friends and acquaintances to come here!

Some of the best Thai food is in this hidden gem. 😋 Very tasty and well seasoned and prepared. I colleague told me about this place and shared some food. Oh boy...so good 👍🏼 👏 They have this garlic soy sauce that they make that's sooo good. It really adds a special flavor to your meal. Take out is busy but I stopped by after work and the place was packed. My favorite dish, steamed chicken, was all sold out for the day! Lots of other things on the menu that seem tasty.

Diner Review №129

No frills Thai restaurant serving up warm and delicious Thai food. Staff was friendly and got me what I needed. Serving was a little slow despite not much crowd. My Pad Phed was a reliable plate of spicy chicken on jasmine white rice - lean slices of chicken and lots of vegetables. Wished there could be more flavors to make it perfect!

Diner Review №134

Diner Review №135

The best Thai food in the city. I have not had good Thai in awhile. Everything was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The egg rolls were crisp and delicious. The pad Thai was great. The chicken satay and peanut sauce were my fave. I will be back soon.

Diner Review №136

Disappointing. Horrible service.
I ordered a pad see ew with chicken, a panang with beef, and an order of egg rolls. The server (a middle aged guy) brought us a vegetarian pad see ew and a panang with chicken instead of beef. Our order was completely wrong, and the guy didn’t even say sorry, didn’t change our order, and the egg rolls never came! He said, “the kitchen is almost closed. No egg rolls.” He then brought us ANOTHER pad see ew with chicken and charged us for it although we didn’t ask for it. EGG ROOLS WERE STILL ON THE CHECK!
I mean, c’mon. They gave us whatever they had in their kitchen, no apologies, and charged us for it. So rude and weird.

Diner Review №144

As soon as you enter here you know this is some authentic stuff. We tried the fried chicken, pad thai with duck and pad see ew with shrimp. I loved the pad thai but found the pork a little on the bland-ish side. The pad see ew was great as well. The fried chicken was absolutely crispy and hot. We also got a thai iced tea with cream but it was too sweet for my taste, might take it as dessert next time though.

After having a terrible meal at a neighboring restaurant, my wife and I were still hungry so we opted to walk over to Siam. Completely different experience!

Atmosphere: nicely air conditioned, roomy restaurant that had the kitchen towards the back. Based on who was working there, we thought that the place might be a family business. We were excited :).

My food: I ordered my usual panang curry with fried tofu and it was spicy, flavorful, and nutty. This one had no veggies in it which was ok with me.

I also got a Thai iced tea that was sweet and refreshing.

My wife’s food: a Thai basil noodle dish with tamarind sauce that was sweet and spicy.

Our server was kind and attentive. When we asked about recommendations she asked about our preferences and told us some favorites.

Overall an affordable, laid back, delicious gem of a restaurant. Will definitely return.

Diner Review №161

Had ordered the Panang curry and made it vegan. The curry was alright overall, a little too watery. The tofu texture was too chewy. Thr flavors were decent. Very friendly family. Overall the food was not something I'd look forward to having regularly, but eager to try other dishes here.

Diner Review №162

Diner Review №163

Diner Review №164

Diner Review №165

Not happy—I ordered chow mein, not egg noodle soup. This chow mein is drowning in salty broth; it should be sticky and not submerged. These cheap egg noodles don't meet my expectations. What happened to the real chow mein noodles? I can make a far superior chow mein myself. The second order is equally disappointing. The chicken is overly dry and overwhelmed by an excessive amount of cilantro. Overall, it's a lackluster experience and definitely not worth the $45 meal. I'm removing this place from my list.

Diner Review №166

Delicious!! The veggie egg rolls and pad kee mao were some of the best I’ve had in the city. The basil fried rice was excellent as well. Everything had a perfect balance of ingredients which is always nice. Definitely will be back!

The items on the menu I constantly eat is:

Pad Thai
Dry fried beef (please try it!)
Larb (meaty)

I honestly don't think you can go wrong if you order any of these three things. Very unique dishes and are extremely flavorsome! I've tried ordering these same dishes in many other cities and it never compares to here.
