Eating here today. The food and drinks are truly top notch. Inventive, tasty, reasonably priced. Service is great too. Love this place. Can’t recommend it enough.

Diner Review №11

I’ve been to kin dee over 30 times. This review is solely based on my last experience.

The food lacked substance and taste. I could tell immediately by the color of the Tom Yum and Drunken Noodles. A very disappointing experience.

The crab fried rice is my favorite

Diner Review №14

Beautiful restaurant, but unfortunately my food was not up to par. I have come here many times, and would not have expected the food I received on New Years Day and do not believe that it’s the standard, unless it’s changed that drastically in the last few months.

We came in to eat, but due to too many smells (I’m pregnant) we opted to get our order to go.

My Thai rice was mushy and completely lacked in flavor. Some of my shrimp also weren’t fully cleaned properly which was disappointing. My husband said his pad Thai also wasn’t hot (in temperature).

I want to believe this was a one-off bad experience, but it was sadly a very expensive mistake and not how we planned to spend the first day of the New Year.

We tried to call to follow-up, but couldn’t get anyone on the phone. I know it’s super busy there, so that’s understandable, but also still upsetting.

Service is good but just overpriced mediocre Thai food. There were 5 shrimp in the panang curry.

Amazing! So nice of them to pack the ice cream ( in the mango sticky rice) in a separate iced bag! And the food really tastes good. Happy Thanksgiving!

The atmosphere was great with live music but it was too loud to enjoy the music though. They had good cocktail options however hardly could taste the alcohol in most of the drinks. Tasted like fruit juice rather. They had happy hour so that was an added bonus. The food was great especially the Thai dumpling. Pad Thai noodles was good as well. The Thai tea crème brûlée was decent but was not impressed with Pandan cake though. Service was excellent. Overall a good experience.

Diner Review №25

I REALLY want to give this place a 4.5 star on the food. I understand one of the LARGEST challenges for Thai food is accessing proper ingredients to create an authentic experence. I felt overall the food was great, the value was also good, and the service and venue/space was a 5/5. Iwould be coming back. Lots of left overs! :)

Diner Review №26

I loved this place! I order here all the time. However, I just ordered food and it honesty came cold and what looks like molded. Now I feel like I can’t go back here 🥲

First visit but will return. Chicken satay was delicious and loved the cucumber relish and the peanut sauces. Server was very nice & took excellent care of us. She even brought my husband extra spicy dips for his food! Server was also helpful with one of our group who must eat gluten free.

Diner Review №29

Our server Tracy was awesome and the manager was fantastic. We had a minor issue where it took awhile for us to be matched with a server once seated and they rectified it quickly and even comped our apps. The food was delicious. Will be back!

Don’t waste your time or your money. Unless you like a rude and disagreeable manager handling your service! I will never come back. I have never had such a terrible dining experience in my life. The wait staff who served our drinks are the only reason im giving one star for service, because they were clearly embarrassed by their managers deplorable behavior.

Diner Review №32

I had a frustrating experience at Kin Dee that I would like to share for others consideration. Our group of 7 from my work place had organized a farewell lunch for a team member's last day. We called ahead to request placing our orders in advance so that we could dine in quickly during our tight lunch window.

When we arrived to dine in, we were met with an extremely rude, unwelcoming, and dismissive manager. It seemed that the staff member who took our order over the phone misunderstood that we were looking to dine in. This staff member took our payments for our dishes ALONG WITH a tip from the moment we walked through the doors and BEFORE we were seated.

Instead of trying to resolve the issue or showing any empathy, Cody (the manager) walked up to our table and in an immensely rude and dismissive tone said, “I will not be taking the food out of the boxes and you will not be eating in my restaurant out of boxes.”

One of our team members tried to explain that there had probably been a misunderstanding on their staff’s behalf, however, Cody cut her off and kept repeating “I’m not going to do that. The food is in boxes and I won’t be taking it out for you to eat here. I won’t be doing that.” In that moment, it felt like we were being treated as an inconvenience rather than valued customers. My team and I was completely okay with eating from the to go boxes as mistakes occur. Despite it being lunch hour, our group of seven and 4 other diners were the only ones in the restaurant. Therefore, his refusal to serve us after a misunderstanding on his staff's part was completely unjustified.

The way the situation was handled was not only unprofessional but also left us feeling unwelcome. Kin Dee’s atmosphere was nice, but the lack of courtesy from the manager, left a bad taste. This lunch was meant to be an enjoyable last Houston experience for our coworker, but Cody's attitude made it anything but that. I seriously hope they address this issue, as it really detracts from what could be a great restaurant. I am positive that Kin Dee will never be an option for me, the rest of our team, our friends or family for future meals ever again thanks to Cody.

Diner Review №33

Not coming back…

Diner Review №34

I came as part of a party of 7 from our office to have lunch at the restaurant. This was intended to be a small going away lunch for one of our team members who was here for her last day at the office. We called ahead of time to very clearly let the restaurant know that we wanted to place our orders ahead of time to DINE IN at the restaurant, as some of us had a tight lunch window and we wanted to be able to sit and eat quickly. If this was not possible, the staff member who picked up the phone should have communicated as such, but they did not.

When we arrived, and after we paid, we were told that our order had been boxed to go. Again, this was the restaurant's mistake. The manager - Cody - was extremely rude and turned a very easily fixed situation into a bad experience. He refused to allow us to eat in the restaurant - his exact words were: 1."I am not going to take this food out of the boxes and serve it to you." and 2. "I am not going to let you eat boxed food inside my restaurant." His tone was extremely condescending and rude.

The restaurant was not busy at all. There were four patrons total when we walked in, and only two by the time this entire situation concluded. I understand the concern about having patrons eat food from plastic boxes in the restaurant, but this was the establishment's mistake. If Cody had the common sense to offer us outdoor seating (lovely 83 degree weather in Houston today) and apologized for the miscommunication, this would have been a non-story. We did not ask for anything to be comped. We did not ask for coupons or an apology. We were all taken aback by Cody's aggressive and rude demeanor. I asked Cody very politely if there was anything he could do in terms of allowing us to eat in the restaurant, given the situation - again, I received a rude and curt response. I asked Cody if it would be fine if we ate at the tables outside. He said we could do that.

If he did not have a problem with us eating outside, that should have been the first solution he offered to make up for the miscommunication. We all would have been fine with that. His immediate response was to jump to rudeness. This situation could go in two different ways at very little personal inconvenience to Cody, and he chose the worse of the two options.

We had already paid and tipped in advance for the meal by the time this unfolded. Nobody likes to eat food where they are made to feel unwelcome, and Cody did his absolute best to make us certain that we were unwelcome at your establishment. This is the second time a team from our office has come to this restaurant on my recommendation as I have frequented this restaurant with my family before. I feel extremely disappointed that our teammate had this negative experience as one of her last memories of Houston. Needless to say, I doubt that anyone from my office will return here for any lunch, whether that is a client lunch or a team lunch, nor will I be coming back here with family.

Diner Review №35

Thai food is my favorite and this place creates a whole new experience! Do not miss the purple dumplings! The drinks are gorgeous and delicious. Do not miss out on this place. Well done, Kin Dee!

Diner Review №36

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant that I feel compelled to share. I called in advance to place an order for my coworkers and me, as it was my farewell lunch and we had limited time. I clearly outlined each person's order and specified that we wanted to dine in, hoping this would streamline our visit.

When we arrived, the manager, Cody McMichael, informed us that our food was packed to go. We explained that we were okay eating from the to-go boxes inside the restaurant, but he flatly refused and stated he would not serve us. His tone was not only dismissive but also incredibly rude, which was shocking given that the mistake was theirs for not processing the order correctly.

It’s disappointing to see such a lack of customer service, especially during a significant occasion for us. Because of this experience, we will not be returning. I hope the management can address this issue, as it reflects poorly on the restaurant.

Diner Review №37

We placed our orders ahead for a quick lunch and specified that we wanted to eat at the restaurant. We got there and paid ahead and tipped only for the manager, Cody McMichael, to kick us out of the restaurant. Completely unacceptable. He said he already boxed up the orders and would not let us eat inside. He was VERY rude about it.

Diner Review №38

Food was great and customer service was on point! I loved all my appetizers and my main course which was the northern curry!!

Diner Review №39

our waitress had trouble clearing our table on her toast system, and very nicely asked her colleague to help. The Hispanic waitress that works here with circular glasses is incredibly rude to customers and her own fellow waitress.

She tried to patronize us and explain why our tab had to be voided when it was an issue issue with their own Toast system .

Extremely unprofessional and rude

Diner Review №44

This is my second time here for dinner, it was a really bad experience with the service, a young girl served my table with an unwelcoming attitude, I had to wait for my food for a long time but I understand every place is busy on a saturday night but the waitress didn't care about my table even though I just wanted to order more food, my family seemed disappointed about this, then the manager came and took care of me by letting me know my food was coming and asking if I had any other requests, I really like this manager because they know how to take care of their customers, but my disappointment didn't stop there, my waitress came back to serve me with even more disrespect, when I hadn't finished my meal she kept asking me if I wanted to clear the table and pay right away, while I looked at my watch it was only 8:30pm, I think the restaurant wasn't even closing yet, everything that happened made me feel like I was being kicked out of there, so this will be my last time going to this restaurant although my first experience here was good, thanks to the manager for taking care of us today and the food was really good!

Diner Review №45

Tracy was an amazing server and accommodated to all of our needs! very kind soul, she made our experience a 5/5. Food was okay but have had better thai.

Diner Review №46

I have been a happy customer of Kin Dee for several years now. I absolutely love their Crunchy Salad, and my favorites dish is the Tom Yum Soup. My second favorite dish is the Crab Meat Fried Rice. If you are looking for flavorful food, this Thai restaurant does a great job.

Diner Review №47

ordered dumplings, pork skewers and chicken wings for apps, with the dumplings being the best by far.
for main course we had the drunken noodles, pad see ew and crab fried rice - drunken noodles were amazing and crab fried rice was solid. personally would not get the pad see ew again, but wasn’t horrible. food overall was just average but prices were reasonable and good location - definitely better thai places in houston.

Diner Review №48

This was a cute casual Thai restaurant located in the Houston Heights. It’s also in a small shopping center if you wanted to look at a couple spots. The service was quick and the food was decent! We went during restaurant week and the selection was good.

Great restaurant! The service is friendly, the atmosphere is fun, and the food is absolutely delicious. I had the Houston restaurant week special. The crunchy salad was fresh with a perfect mix of citrus and ginger. The glass noodles had a well balanced flavor with high quality ingredients. The pandan cake and mango sticky rice are really yummy, and the perfect way to finish off the meal. Absolutely recommend :)

My friends and I went for Houston Restaurant week and we loved it! All our food was fresh and hot! I had the “Money Bag” app, Drunken noodles with Chicken 10/10) and the Mango sticky rice! I did try the Asia-Tini but I personally wasn’t a fan of it but one of my friends liked it! I will be back for sure!

Diner Review №53

Have been going here for the past couple of years and it's been great Everytime. They have ample parking space and indoor seating. The service is very good, once they accommodated us during their closing time and the food was uncompromised.
Definitely recommend their Thai flower dumplings - they look very pretty and tastes good. The money bags are a good try too. I like their Tom Kha soup - the portion size is huge. The Drunken noodles, panang curry, pad see ew are very safe options.
Definitely worth the money for good food, pleasant ambience and friendly service.

I normally love the restaurant but Manager Cody was rude, insolent and insulting. I am lactose intolerant and asked that my Thai Tea be made with coconut milk. My server, Jasmine was great. I asked her to get the manager. According to her, he was too busy to come to the table. And he told her he would not allowvmy Thai Tea to be made with coconut milk. Cody never came to the table as a courtesy to explain. The restaurant is not busy and there was no reason to deny my request. I have met the owner in the past and have even purchased items from the restaurants flatware. I am a great customer but today I have been mistreated by Cody, the manager and just wanted everyone to know. Cody, as a manager SUCKS......

As someone with medical dietary restrictions that make me gluten free and dairy sensitive, it’s always a challenge to find a restaurant that is actually safe for me to eat at, and not to mention that has safe food that actually tastes good. However, Kin Dee has made our gluten free date night dinners both delicious and worry-free. I thoroughly enjoyed both the food and experiences we’ve had at Kin Dee and can’t wait to come back!

The food we ordered was so good that I questioned if it was actually gluten and dairy free at first! My favorite dish that I ordered was the Panang curry with shrimp (GF & DF), which came with a delicious, mild coconut curry with white rice. My partner ordered the Kin Dee Pad Thai (DF), which came with traditional pad thai noodles, toppings, and peanut sauce which was all wrapped in a thai omelette.

It’s rare to find establishments that take such care with food allergies and understand cross contamination/cross contact procedures, but Kin Dee is on top of it. Kin Dee’s servers were knowledgeable and helpful, plus their menu is already 99% dairy free with a large amount of gluten free options!

Kin Dee will always be at the top of my gluten free restaurant recommendation list. I’ve been back many times with different people and every experience has been wonderful.

Diner Review №64

Came here due to decent reviews, however started off bad when I walked in without a reservation. Girl at front said, "sorry, we have no spots for you until two hours later". She gave her facts, but wasn't even pleasant when greeting us. Prior to getting there I checked the reservation lists and it showed open for the time I arrived up until the next few hours. I told her this, but she had no answer nor wanted to even inquire about it. I told her ok, walked outside and listed myself on the reservation list. Walked in and she knew right away what I did and gave me a smirk and said , "we have a table for you". Nice one hostess!

Waitress and her service was good. Food was just average. I understand it's supposed to be a modern style of Thai food, but the flavors was just ok. Had the purple dumplings which were good, pork belly was good, wings were just ok and the curry with what seemed like a whole chicken (1/4 leg) seemed a bit odd at first and the curry flavor was a bit bland. Decor was nice along with DJ playing chill vibes.

Diner Review №65

Thank you Kin Dee for taking the time to explain what items had allergens in them and accommodating my familiy’s needs. Your food is always delicious.

Diner Review №67

I’m rarely if ever pleasantly surprised by restaurants in Houston as a New York transplant, I can honestly say the food scene here is nothing but aesthetics however, this evening I decided to order some Thai and found this place with pretty decent reviews, not expecting it to exceed any expectations. First of all the food arrived packaged to perfection. I ordered the mango sticky rice and they were kind enough to wrap the ice cream in a bag of ice, which was a really beautiful touch To ensure the integrity of the dish upon arrival.

Everything looked wonderful, and as soon as I opened my curry, I was enveloped in the most wonderful aroma. I sat down to enjoy the curry and noodles and could not stop eating Until the last bite was gone. This dish was perfectly flavorful. The only comment I will make is that there mild spicy is actually not spicy at all, and I was playing it safe because I know Thai places tend to get very spicy. I will definitely go for the medium other than that the perfection.

Next up was the mango sticky rice. I can honestly say the mango was so perfectly ripe. The coconut ice cream was so fresh and delicious and the whole dish came together so beautifully for the perfect ending to this takeout order. 11 out of 10 recommend this place will definitely be stopping in in person.

Diner Review №68

I liked this place a lot! Delicious food, great ambience and excellent service.

Diner Review №69

I recently visited Kin Dee Thai Cuisine for my girlfriend’s monthly foodie meet-up, and I was pleasantly surprised by the options, serving sizes, and quality of the food. We tried several dishes, and my favorites were the drunken noodles and the crab fried rice.

Kin Dee Thai Cuisine offers a truly authentic representation of Thailand through its unique flavors and ingredients. The focus on made-from-scratch, authentic, and detail-oriented cooking procedures ensures that the cuisine is just like what you would find in the owner’s hometown in Thailand. Highly recommend for anyone seeking genuine Thai food!

Diner Review №71

I am blown away at the service at this restaurant. I called to make a reservation for my wife’s 30th birthday for a group of 20 people. I failed to mention this on the call. Upon arrival the floor manager, OJ, did a fantastic job of making us feel welcome and ensured we had enough space for our large party. When I told her we’re here for my wife’s birthday she went above and beyond and brought out these happy birthday letters for the table. There was live music there and she even asked the singer to sing happy birthday to my wife. All things I never asked for she just did. OJ should be recognized for her excellent customer service. She made our experience amazing. I’d definitely recommend hosting a party here if OJ is around!

Diner Review №72

Food was average. Not as good as the small authentic Thai restaurant in houston. Like aroy thai! Zaab der! Thai cottage. The curry was not that great. Loved the money bag dumplings tho. This restaurant has been recommended by a friend of mine who went to Thailand and wanted to get some Thai food closest to authentic Thai food and he wasn’t disappointed… well so am I! Their papaya salad is yummy! If you’re not sensitive to spice this spot is a go-to. Conveniently located in the heights, easy parking was a top bonus. I went there on a Saturday in between showing homes to for my clients and the service was fast. I love trying new spots and local businesses that I can recommend to my clients, as I am a Real Estate Agent in the Houston Metro Area and this one is now on my list of recommendations.

Diner Review №78

The only good thing at this restaurant is the service and Thai tea, don’t be fooled by the reviews this food smells weird and tastes bad.

Diner Review №79

The food was lower quality than other similar places. The chicken was very hard, almost like reheated. The curry was not very tasty. The Thai flower dumplings had a great taste and texture. We didn’t like the money bags, mostly due to the poor quality of the protein inside. The server was nice. The spicy passion fruit cocktail was great. They have live music on Sundays. Overall experience was average.

Diner Review №80

Diner Review №81

Thai flower dumplings were delicious! Loved the different textures inside. They were especially good with the Thai chili sauce. The main courses were delicious, especially the ground chicken dish. The mango sticky rice was delicious and had beautiful presentation, but I wish there was more mango.

Diner Review №84

Mango sticky rice with ice cream is divine! Rice is even pale green for some reason, mango so fresh and sweet! Purple flower dumpling just looks too cute to pass up.

Diner Review №85

My wife and I went for our anniversary dinner and I must say…the food, the service, the drinks, and the atmosphere were amazing! The food was phenomenal and reminded me of when I was stationed overseas. The drinks were delicious and not overly strong. I had the pineapple drink that came in an actual pineapple…OMG…if I didn’t have to drive home, I would have ordered 5 more! My wife had a lavender tea cocktail, and then a second one. She loved it! The waitress was absolutely perfect! She gave my wife advice on what to order and essentially hit a home run with her recommendation. The mango and sticky rice ice cream dessert that she recommended was on point, too! We’re definitely adding this restaurant to our regular “date night” rotation.

Diner Review №88

My wife, son (3 year old) and I went here for dinner and we were not impressed with the food. We had the panang curry and the pad see ew, while they were not completely inedible they were both lacking in flavor big time. We definitely would not rank this to be one of the higher ranking Thai food establishments. We also had a strawberry limeade that my son and I shared it was extremely small and expensive at $7 and it was 90% ice, definitely not worth the price. The kicker for me was the mango and sticky rice. Mango and sticky rice is hands down one of my top 3 when it comes to desserts, unfortunately this one was the worst I have had. The rice was bitter, overall not very sweet and they had ice cream on it, which was a first for me and the ice cream was freezer burnt because it was full of ice crystals. I am still giving this place 2 stars instead of 1 because the service was good and the food came out quickly also, my son did enjoy his grilled pork skewers and rice (which was the most flavorful out of the 3 dishes we ordered).

10 out of 10. Have been here several time. Earth is hands down the best and a large part of the reason we go back aside from the food. He’s so pleasant and elevates the experience.

Diner Review №92

I can say a lot about this place. Went during lunch. Staff was very kind. The place was CLEAN. Beautiful decorations.

Food.

Food was so fresh & hot & the flavor was just perfect. Literally the only thing my coworker & I noticed was that although the style of the forks are beautiful (long gold) they made our hands hurt. So, don't hold the fork towards the end like you would with a regular fork & you'll probably be fine. This is a place I've been wanting to return to ever since.

Diner Review №93

I always come here if I'm craving thai food I would say it's one of the top places in Houston for thai food and there are SEVERAL places in houston for thai.

I really enjoy their Tom Kha soup (big dish), their panang curry, and their pad thai.

On the weekends they have some live music so it is a livelier restaurant when compared to others!

Diner Review №94

Crab fried rice was real good

The food and drinks are phenomenal and unique. We had the flower dumplings and it was such a unique blend of nutty and savory and spicy in one beautiful bite. You might not believe it, but I have a pretty long list of places I want to visit. Sometimes it's because I saw a picture of one of their dishes and my reaction was, "GREAT GOOGILY MOOGILY! THAT LOOKS AWESOME! I NEED TO GO EAT THAT!"

And that is exactly how I came to have lunch at Kin Dee Thai Cuisine the other day. Maybe a year ago I saw a picture of their purple lotus flower vegetable dumplings and had my 'great googily' moment. I actually made two previous attempts to get over to the Heights to eat them, but got distracted on the way both times. But I am happy to report I finally made it!

Dontcha just hate it when something looks so beautiful and then you eat it and you realize they put all their effort into the visuals and said "it's so pretty ain't no one gonna care what it tastes like"? Me too. That's why I am delighted to report this is not the case at Kin Dee. Not only are the dumplings absolutely gorgeous, they are absolutely delishes to boot! Woohoo! Actually all of the food was fantastic. We had the aforementioned dumplings, the Papaya salad and the grilled pork belly skewers to start. The pork belly was cooked perfectly and the Papaya salad had a nice kick to it.

We followed that up with the Southern Style Green Curry with Chicken and the Drunken Noodles with Shrimp and Pork. The Curry had an excellent depth of flavor. It comes with rice noodles and I wished I woulda subbed them for Jasmine rice, but that's just cuz I love rice soaked in coconut curry. My only complaint is that I asked for the Drunken Noodles to be as hot as possible and they were just mildly spicy. My farts didn't even burn later.
(*Sad trombone*)

So if you find yourself near 16th and Durham definitely stop in and treat yourself. It's a good looking restaurant with GREAT GOOGILY MOOGILY beautiful food.

Diner Review №101

The food was very flavorful, we love spicy food and chose dishes that we could adjust the heat levels to.

Our waitress was excellent with understanding our preferences and helping us pick dishes we could add more heat to.

The Thai Flower Dumplings weren’t only pretty but oh so good! Our entire meal was excellent start to finish.

It was very quiet during lunch and we were able to sit and enjoy each others company and have a delightful conversation.

Diner Review №102

Diner Review №103

The menu has selected option which I find it good because I dont want to lose myself in more than 100 dishes to choose. We ordered papaya salad (mild spicy), drunken noodles (medium spicy), tomyum (medium spicy), Panang curry, and coconut icecream. Our favorite in order: Panang curry, drunken noodles, and coconut ice-cream. Panang curry has strong coconut cream flavor which I love; drunken noodles has strong flavor of basil - again, I love it; coconut icecream with palm and coconut jelly. Papaya salad is pretty spicy with fresh chili, we can tolerate with that, hehe, but for people who are not familiar with spicy, even mild level, it could be harsh for you. Double check all spicy level with the restaurant before jumping into it.

Diner Review №104

Very underwhelming. The music was good however the food was not.

Diner Review №105

Went here on Friday evening for a date night and had the best experience! Our server, Tracy was very gracious and gave us some great food recommendations. She was so sweet and really added to the experience. We tried the Pork Skewers, Money Bags, Flower Dumplings, Drunken Noodles (Shrimp) and Chicken Thai Basil and every dish was so unique and delicious. The Pork Skewers and Chicken Thai Basil were exceptional and definitely our favourites, although the Thai Basil can be pretty spicy. They also had live music which was very good and everyone was really enjoying the atmosphere! I unfortunately only took photos of the dumplings but I highly recommend the other dishes (we were too busy eating to take photos)

Stopped in to Kin Dee for my birthday, we tried 3 dishes and some appetizers. Everything was very tasty. My favorite dish was the pad see ew. It also happened to be the night they had the dragon dance for the lunar new hear. We will be coming back to try other dishes soon. I highly recommend doing reservations as this place is very packed, we lucked out and didn't have to wait to long. Out waiter was very attentive and always was around asking if we needed anything, she also recommended the sticky rice mago dessert which didn't disappoint. Coming from living in Katy where there are a handful of great Thai restaurants I was pleasantly surprised, seems I found my new place in the heights.

Diner Review №108

It's ok. Used to be a lot better and maybe I had an off night. Waiter seemed very inattentive, but friendly; expensive and weak drink; food was tasty but almost cold and portion wasn't very large. I wanted appetizers but at the speed to get a drink and then finish it before waiter returned to take our order made me decide against it. Same with dessert - skipped it because the vibe wasn't right for the price. Advice? Skip the cocktails unless you have money to burn or don't actually want an alcoholic drink, maybe order takeout and skip the inflated tip suggestion (min 18%) for mediocre service in a loud environment. I wanted it to be better because the food tastes good, even if it was room temp.

I ordered online to-go but was impressed with the atmosphere and the live one-woman singer they had playing while I waited. Once I got home and tucked into my food I was really happy how well prepared it all was. So delicious. Most definitely will return and recommend.

Diner Review №110

We love Chicken Cashew and Drunken Noodle dish a lot. Other food that we ordered was great too. We enjoy eating there and the staff are so kind and nice. Recommend !!!

Diner Review №111

Delicious food and cocktails

Diner Review №112

Update: Despite them saying that they sent this to their upper management for review, we never heard from them. While we were there we DID approach the TWO managers on the floor to politely let them know that we received TERRIBLE service. They truly did not care about our experience. They just told us to come back.

This was a birthday lunch and was completely below standard. The waitress even argued with me about the drink she forgot (I just asked her if she could bring it out) and then eventually “remembered.” No…we still never got it but it was on the receipt.

Original Review: We were never checked on during our meal despite there being 2 assistant managers on the floor, plus our drink was forgotten. Would never go back here again.

Diner Review №113

Great dinner! Food was very good, great flavors and yet very light. Pork belly was delicious, but hard to go wrong with this one. Flower dumplings were the happy surprise: they look beautiful and taste just the same. House drinks were also very interesting. Great and quick service!

This was my first time at Kin Dee and it was awesome! I loved every thing I ate! Great service and such a cool place. Super comfortable place to take your time and enjoy your meal. Can’t wait to go back!

Food is prepared with high quality ingredients. Perfect portions.

Diner Review №116

Outstanding restaurant. The khao soi and crab fried rice was phenomenal and service and atmosphere were impeccable. Really nice to have an opportunity to eat upscale Thai food, beautiful plating and dishware but the prices were so fair for how generous the portions are. I loved our server Gracie, she was so sweet and attentive and great to talk to as well! Can’t wait to come back here

Great Thai place! Difficult to get a table in the weekend - reserve upfront. Had northern style curry (bone-in chicken!) and pan fried glass noodles with pork. The option of bone-in chicken in the curry made all the difference in terms of taste and flavor. It was delicious! Also pretty good cocktail served in a pineapple (Phuket). Can recommend everything.
Nice Thai-style interior and plenty of parking too

ive had thai from so many different spots and in my opinion this marked the very last of my list. The service is quick and friendly, very attentive from all staff. The food on the other hand failed my expectations. We ordered Panang Curry, which had very little flavor to it. The chicken itself was cooked perfectly. We also ordered the Pad See Ew. This was decent. We were offered an additional side which contained Palm Sugar, Spice, and Serrano In vinegar. Personally i would have preferred spice be cooked into the noodles instead of on the side. If you prefer mild to minimal spices, this place is perfect. If youre looking for more authentic thai, i would go elsewhere.

Diner Review №129

The atmosphere and service was good. However the food was very lacking. I ordered the drunken noodles, medium spice level. I hardly felt any spice so I had to ask for additional spice. However the biggest issue wasn't the spice level. It was bland. I've had drunken noodles at various Thai restaurants but I've never had one as flavorless as this one. My wife had the papaya salad which was also bland and a friend ordered the curry which she said was watery. I suppose for the heights this is "authentic" Thai food but if you really want Thai flavors you would be better off elsewhere.

Diner Review №130

First sorry to give bad rating. You cannot tell this food . It's called frozen food . This restaurant is not for vegan/vegetarian people . Only soup was hot served. Rest food are served cold. Once order takes 30 minutes to get food and so cold like frozen product taken out from freezer. Also restaurant is expensive never go back.

Diner Review №131

Saturday errands and Thai go together like babies and pacifiers, says an urban poet. Well, not really...but you know what I mean.

Enough of that...let's talk about the food and the experience. From the entrance, we came through, there is a small waiting area and we were guided to a table in what seems to be on of maybe 15-20 high-tops and regular tables. There is also outside seating, however, the day was a little too blustery.

There were only about 5 other tables occupied at the time we were there, which was great so we could get the best service and food speed. Our server was pleasant and attentive. We immediately ordered drinks (Stella/$7 and dirty martini/$14 with Tito's) and put in our app order for the chicken wings. They arrived within a decent amount of time. There were six wings in the order and it was served with a side of tamarind sauce. My husband noted that the chicken had little flavor, but I dedicated a hint of salt and the sauce added a good flavor. The only problem is that there was not enough of that sauce. No joke - there was about a full two teaspoons worth of sauce. Kin Dee can solve this problem with a light drizzle over the wings, before they are shuttled off to the table.

We ordered our mains (combo drunk noodles and chicken pad thai) which were around $20 bucks, each. We ordered them mild and there was still a slight kick - experienced Thai diners know to go milder at first, until you learn the establishment's affinity for spice. The pad thai was served wrapped in an egg crepe. Not only did it keep the heat in, it keep the noodles moist. The drunk noodles were also slathered (in a good way) with the delectable sauce. The pad thai was served with a "platter" of add-ons: chile, peanuts, etc. Unfortunately, it was just not enough - no joke, a tablespoon of each. For the cost, give me more peanuts. sheesh.

Decor: Very cool black and white decor with modern scaffolding of plants and chic lighting; chairs were fabric and very cool looking; table height and chair height was spot-on (doesn't always happen)

Ambience: I was attracted to the live music/singer - she showed at about 1:30pm and she added to the overall experience

Convenience: Tight restroom area because of display case (see next note); there is a dedicated parking lot for the shopping center but I can see at peak times that it would not be sufficient (there is construction on the side streets bordering the center); about 5-10 minutes into the Heights from the freeway

Dishware: We ate family style and we only had about 4-inch sized saucers; it would be nice to have a larger plate, especially when trying to serve noodles (as a matter of fact, the hall to the restroom has a case where flatware and dishware is sold, that you eat on, in the restaurant)

Prices: With tip, we paid about $85 for lunch (two drinks, two mains, one starter) - a little steep

Verdict: Overall, the owners of Kin Dee have done an amazing job: great food taste, inventive presentation, great flatware/dishes/flatware and cool ambience - I get it, prices have to be higher b/c of area and cool factor - if I was in the neighborhood, I would definitely go again but it would not be appointment dining because of where I live and the price point is a bit high - kudos! Definitely a 4.5 rating. (I'll give it a 4 here)

Parking: It was tight at lunch so plan accordingly for busier times

Kid-friendliness: The tables are tight - noisy children might be a concern

Diner Review №132

The BEST Thai restaurant in all of Houston, as well as most authentic. All of their dishes are traditional and tasty with just the right amount of spice. The restaurant is extremely clean and all of their staff are all professional, knowledgeable, attentive, and kind. The atmosphere is lovely, lively and chic. A definite go to if you’re in Houston looking for great food and great service

Diner Review №133

This review is based on a takeout order. I ordered the Pad Thai and Panang Curry, and when I picked up the order, the staff was friendly and brought my order quickly.

After opening the order, I was surprised at how little food there was based on $18 orders for each. The flavors were fairly bland, especially the curry. The pad thai was disappointing as well, and neither order had any vegetables in it to add to the textures.

Maybe the experience is better in person, but I’m not sure we will be back.

Diner Review №134

Great place to hand a good drinks. The appetizers are awesome, the curry could use some spice. Just my preference. Worth a try!

Diner Review №135

Great place with good food and lively atmosphere :)

Diner Review №136

So we came here expecting some of the best Thai food in houston. Couldn't be further from the truth, but it's a mixed bag of a review so buckle up. We ordered the appetizer platter and we were really happy. Chicken satay was great, pork skewers were solid, and the shrimp tempura and chicken wrap was great. The entree was where the entire dinner fell through.

My wife got the panang curry and I got the Northern curry. The panang curry was so incredibly bland that it didn't taste like anything. My wife, who hates spice, wanted more spiciness or anything to make to taste good but it was so bland that nothing could be done. My northern curry was good, but nothing to act happy about. Was decent and nothing more. I asked for medium spice and it wasn't spicy at all. Could have been fed to a baby it was so mild.

Overall, tons of hype and the curry didn't hold up. Appetizers are good and drinks are fine but over priced, but what's new with any semi fancy restaurant.

Overall, the wife was so disappointed that we didn't get a dessert. Not sure if we'll be back.

Diner Review №143

Oh, Kin Dee Thai Cuisine, how you never fail to impress! Located in the awesome heights area, this Thai food haven is a real treat. Every visit feels like a new culinary adventure, and it's hands down one of the best Thai spots in the city.

This time around, my wife, parents decided to dive into their Chicken Panang Curry, and let me tell you, it was a hit. My dad, who's usually pretty tough to please when it comes to food, declared it the best he's ever had. That's high praise coming from him!

As for me, I couldn't resist my all-time favorite – the Chicken Pad Thai. But this isn't your average Pad Thai; it's served in an omelette, wrapping the noodles in a cozy, eggy blanket. Every bite is a delightful mix of textures and flavors, making it a dish I'd recommend to anyone visiting Kin Dee.

We ended our meal with their Sticky Rice dessert, and it was as amazing as always. It's a beautiful presentation, with mango cut into a flower shape, served on a bed of sticky rice and topped with ice cream. It's the kind of dessert that's not just a treat for your taste buds but also a feast for your eyes.

Kin Dee Thai Cuisine is a gem, a place that keeps drawing you back with its consistently delicious food and warm, inviting atmosphere. If you're in Houston and craving some authentic Thai food, this is the place to be. Trust me; your taste buds will thank you!

Diner Review №144

Almost all tables were free but they would only seat us at the bar. The drinks and food are average but pricey.

Diner Review №145

The Cashew chicken is excellent! However, the side portion of rice is WAY too small. If the portion of rice were a touch larger, this meal would be perfection.

Diner Review №146

Will be back. Reasonable prices. Hot tea wasnt on the menu, but available and enjoyable. I got the Tom yum soup, sub chicken for shrimp with glass noodles and delicious. Generous portion. The purple flower dumpling appetizers I have got in the past and are something worth trying for sure. I'll continue to come back.

Diner Review №147

The flower dumplings were really special and delicious!

Diner Review №150

Good food but my wife and daughter both Thai, said food is good but definitely catered towards non Thais as not very spicy at all but still good.

Diner Review №151

They have very few vegetarian options. 3 to be exact which is rare for a Thai restaurant. The dumplings were amazing and raised our expectations for the main course.
The Pad thai and glass noodles tasted below average.
I loved the ambience and the live music though.

We had a perfect evening on Kin Dee’s secluded patio, with attentive service, an intimate atmosphere and the best thai food I have ever experienced!

Diner Review №158

Food is very tasty, a small selection of main dishes. Portions are good however for the prices could be bigger. Service is very good and it has a very nice vibe.

Diner Review №159

Great atmosphere, good food, and friendly servers! <3

Diner Review №160

There was a signer performing in the center of restaurants. There are two outdoor patios. Emmy was very friendly and suggested great dishes. Great first impression of this restaurant.

Diner Review №161

Service was fast and efficient. Food came out quickly. Large lunch portions easily fed us with leftovers. We had 2 young kids, and there is no kids menu. Ordered the fried chicken for the 3 yr old, and she had plenty to eat. It was mild enough for her to like it.

Great flavors! The curry was flavorful and can be ordered with the spice level desired.

The drinks are a bit expensive given how much ice is in the glass. The Margherita was tasty, but in a small glass with mostly ice.

Diner Review №162

Sophia L is a terrible waitress.

I brought my client from out of town because his favorite cuisine is Thai food. I’ve visited this place many times and I believe it is one of the best Thai places in the city.

Sophia had a terrible attitude and was very condescending to the both of us, which created an awkward dinner. I’m not sure why management would hire her if she hates her job so much. She should rethink her career instead of taking it out on innocent repeat clients. I’ll never visit again due to the embarrassment and lack of hospitality.

Diner Review №163

First timer. Had lunch. Wanted to experience the food before "experimenting". Pad Thai chicken was presented in a unique way - fried egg umbrella-ed the noodles. The other dish was Thai Minced Chicken salad. Both dishes taste good-to-great. Lots of indoor table and vibrant outside patio with plenty of tables. Great service. One disappointment was there was no single serving of Tom Yum soup, only large size.

Diner Review №164

I visited this restaurant for lunch on a Saturday, and I was surprised by the lack of crowds. I must say, I was thoroughly impressed with my dining experience. Every dish we ordered was outstanding, and our server, Gem, deserves special mention for her excellent guidance in selecting our meal and instructing us on how everything should be eaten.

The Phuket and mango mai tai cocktails were both delightful. While the dumplings were smaller than expected, they were both beautiful and a fantastic, flavorful twist from the basic dumplings that I’m accustomed to. The Thai basil chicken stir fry and the drunken noodles were bursting with flavor and left me craving more. The medium level of spice was just right, and it's worth noting that they offer condiments to kick up the heat if desired.

In summary, I can confidently call this dining experience a home run. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to everyone, and I eagerly anticipate returning for many more visits in the future. My only complaint is that it is on the more expensive side for Thai.

Diner Review №168

Kin Dee is a nice place! The service was fantastic and the food tasty. We went as a group of 3, shared 2 appetizers and had an entre each. The Thai Flower Dumplings and Money Bags were delicious, but a little on the expensive side for appetizers. For the main dish I had the Pad See Ew with chicken. I asked about spice level and they only serve their dishes with the spice on the side so you can customize the heat level yourself. It was a good dish with lots of flavor, but I did end up using a lot of chili powder and chili flakes to get it up to my desired heat level. At almost $40/person at lunch, Kin Dee will have to be a spot for special occasions. I definitely look forward to the next visit!

Diner Review №169

I am so disappointed with the food!!! The noodle came cold and soggy, seems like it as been ore cooked and sitting some where before they were served to us. The food is very very average, I would not go back.

Diner Review №171

I loved experiencing this place. The food is excellent. The service is great, friendly, and accommodating. For appetizers, we tried the Kin Dee Chicken Wings, absolutely delicious chicken, with a great sweet but savory sauce and the Crunchy Salad which was so surprisingly refreshing and packed with flavor! For our main course we shared the Drunken Noodles - it was sooooo yummy, I didn’t want to stop eating it. For dessert we had the Mango Sticky Rice and it is such an interesting dessert! The flavors work so well together, the warmth of the sticky rice, with the coldness of the ice cream, topped off with the sweet, but tart mango slices! Wow. Just wow. This place is a must try, you can tell they put a lot of thought into their menu!

Diner Review №172

Great food and cocktails. Service was excellent, I will be back soon!

Diner Review №173

One of my favorite restaurants in Heights, Houston, is Kin Dee. Coming back to Houston after a few months of being away for a work assignment, I just had to come back here for my pre-birthday celebration dinner. Since it was towards the end of the month of Restaurant Week, my friends and I had to do this menu before the great deal was over.

I came here last night with my friends and had a fantastic time! I forgot it was Friday last night, and the early night crowd was super busy--great for people-watching time, too.

There are plenty of parking spots near the establishment, and you can easily make reservations for big parties there.

Diner Review №174

Wednesday nights are amazing, live music and good food.

Diner Review №175

Kin Dee’s food and service shines in everything they do. It is slightly pricier than other Thai restaurants, but you get back more than what you pay for. I’ve tried so many appetizers and dishes and have never been disappointed - it is authentic Thai. From the vibrant and trendy atmosphere, to the friendly staff, the live music and the exquisite food - you get the full culinary and entertainment experience at Kin Dee.

Diner Review №176

Great Thai food and cocktails. The service hasn't been the greatest the 2 times I've been there with slow drinks from bar and hard to track down waitresses. High top tables are better then booth along wall as the tables are very close to each other there. Every dish I've tried has been great from the skewers, crunchy salad, dumplings, tom kha, drunken noodles etc. Just need to get the service experience a bit better and it will be even better.

Diner Review №177

I love this place, my favorite dessert is the mango sticky rice, and butterfly pea flower tea.

Diner Review №178

My party of 5 ordered the flower dumpling, crispy omelette with crab meat, Pad Thai, and Panang curry with shrimp. I enjoyed all the dishes, but the party favorites were the Panang curry and crispy omelette. I was actually surprised by how much I enjoyed the texture of the omelette. Warning though, they seem to use a bit more tamirand (which I loved) for their Pad Thai but not everyone in my group enjoyed the sourness to the dish.

Overall delicious dishes. It’s on the pricier side, but they do use quality ingredients!

I must say, the Thai food at this place is absolutely amazing! It has become my go-to spot for Thai cuisine in Houston. Not only is the food delicious, but the service is also top-notch. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always ready to accommodate any special requests.

Diner Review №182

Kin Dee is my favorite Thai place in Houston. Their Thai Flower Dumplings is very unique, a good mix of sweet and savory unlike the normal Chinese dumplings you often try. Their curry is served on a plate instead of a bowl like you would expect, similar to Indian curry but still has the sweet taste of coconut milk. My friend and I had a great time here and wouldn’t definitely go back again.

Diner Review №183

We went here as part of Houston Restaurant month. The set menu had a fantastic delicious Crispy Salad that was so fresh and tasty. The main was a green curry with noodles, and was another big hit. This is some of the freshest and best tasting food I’ve had in a long time. I will be back for sure.

Diner Review №184

Been here twice now, absolutely love the food! It’s both aesthetically pleasing and also tastes very authentic!! The service is almost always amazing and we’ve never had an issue.
They sometimes have live music or a DJ which is very interesting for a restaurant. I welcome it, it was a little non traditional and a lot of fun.
Get the peanut flower dumplings! Drinks are somewhat pricey but very strong so I think you get your moneys worth to be honest. Looking forward to the next time I’ll be here, KinDee has quickly become a regular spot for me!

Diner Review №185

Our waiter, Earth, attended us on Earth day. It was an excellent earthling experience in every way.

Diner Review №186

They have live music on the weekends l. Portions are definitely sharable!

Diner Review №187

Ordered pick up and was really excited. Was first disappointed the drunken noodles aren’t offered with beef. And the second strike was how bland the food was. At least the Thai tea was good but I shouldn’t have to take my own seasonings out to made the food taste better. Will stick to my other Thai spots.

Diner Review №188

Great place, they could do without the live music

Diner Review №189

Very 😞 disappointed with this place! First of all, it took a while to have a server come to the table, because they were discussing who did not want to come to our table. The girl that did come with the long hair was nice.We got there past 9:30p.m., and there were between 5-7customers dinning, so it was not packed. Then we had to leave, so I asked our waitress to make our order 'to-go' and it took a while to get. We got home and my partner took two bites and hated his 'pad thai'(he did not finish it); moreover, I was not satisfied with my 'cashews' tofu dish ( I had to ask if they could make it with tofu since I did not see anything vegetarian on the menu) it had two cashews, it was a minimal portion, and it did not taste good. The only good thing was that the "Pandan 🍰 slice" it was delicious (the frosting tasted like it was made with 🥥 cream), my butterfly 🦋 blue tea was exquisite, and our Thai tea was good.

Diner Review №190

All I can say is “ Parents approved dinner place”. It was our first time here in Houston, and while looking for aesthetic yet delicious Thai food, we came across Kin Dee. We sat outdoors and enjoyed their service. The server was really patient and attentive and knew we were with our parents and answered all of questions effectively. All of their drinks were exceptional- from presentation to the taste, it hit the right mark. When it comes to food, we enjoyed the appetizers - shrimp in a blanket, money bag and then my favorite Pappaya salad. For entree, we ordered fried rice, drunken noodles. Both were very flavorful. And last but not the least, so try their mango sticky rice and coconut ice cream. I highly recommend this restaurant you are in Houston next time *_*

I came last minute they still accept until 9.45 pm on Monday they have building parking lorts that share with other business in the building

Every dish here is have a good quality I ordered the Kun tok that’s available on Monday and Tuesday , Pad thai and coconut ice cream with toppings

My favorite is Pork skewers that taste really good , authentic little sweet and have smoky smell and Flowers dumplings that’s come in the Kun Tok set

For the Pad Thai Shrimp it have too strong of fish sauce smell not too salty that’s not right!same with the pork dipping that’s have too strong of fish sauce smell

For the curry dish i only taste coconut milk lightly curry either Penang or green if you like the mild taste of curry you might like it but i’m not

It’s good overall server is great for attention and information. It’s beautiful inside and they have a full bar

I will definitely come back

Diner Review №193

Our meal was hit and miss. The chicken wings were deliciously crispy and moist but its sauce too sweet. The dumpling filling was flavorful but the dumpling itself thick and gummy. The side veggies were swimming in a salty sauce. The Pad Thai was average and it would have been tastier if the actual Pad Thai elements (peanuts, chili, lime, cilantro) came mixed in the dish instead of on the side for the customer to put the flavor together themselves. The butterfly pea margarita was spot on; not too sweet. Our server was great.

Diner Review №194

I had an incredible experience at this Thai restaurant! The vibe was fantastic with live music playing, creating a wonderful atmosphere.

Food was great, albeit on the sweeter side for the papaya salad and the pad see ew, but the portions were great.
Tracy, our waitress, was an absolute gem - she made our day with her friendly and attentive service. To top it off, they went above and beyond to make my friends birthday extra special with a sparkler. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for delicious food and a memorable dining experience! 🎉

Diner Review №195

I loved having our dinner here! Tracy N was our server and she was the FRIENDLIEST and SWEETEST lady ever! Our friends had come before and enjoyed it, but this time, they said Tracy elevated the experience by explaining the dishes and how to best consume each dish. She even told us some health facts about the Butterfly Pea Tea I got! 😁 She has that genuine mother energy that I love!! I think a must try is the Mango Sticky Rice! The sticky rice has Pandan flavor in it!! I haven’t seen that anywhere else. Definitely will be retuning!!!

Diner Review №196

Really loved the live music here especially fridays and weekends. Amazingly fresh salads and good flavors. The cocktails and desserts were a balanced sweetness. What made my night was my waitress Tracy N! She was so kind and caring and had lots of good recommendations.
Would definitely come back!

Diner Review №197

Loved the papaya salad and cocktail with Thai chili (Tom Yum)

Diner Review №198

I like the look of the restaurant and the service was great. As for the food I have mixed feelings. What I did like:
1. Flower dumplings are familiar to me and reminiscent of what I grew up eating. It’s quite tasty.
2. Money bags are just wontons repackaged differently. They’re also good.
What I thought was just okay:
1. Northern style curry. The soup only taste better if you add lime juice. However I would advise you eat all the noodles right away. If you don’t, the noodles will absorb most of the seasonings in the soup and leave it bland. That’s what happen with me.
2. Tom Yum Soup. They offer you noodles but I chose not to for the same reason as the Norther Style Curry. They didn’t skimp on the shrimp. They were large and cooked just right. The only problem was the they were bland so I have no idea we’re these shrimp originated from. The soup was lacking the sharp tartness I’ve come to expect. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great.
One last thing about spice level: it’s definitely not Thai spice. I asked for medium in all my dishes and didn’t feel a burn.

Diner Review №199

I’ve been here like 4 times and my experience is a 10/10 every single time. The customer service, the food, the free ample parking, the ambiance. Each time I bring my friends they love it too.

The ingredients are fresh and full of flavor. This is definitely one of my favorite restaurant’s here in Houston!
