Authentic Laotion, Thai, Vietnamese food
I was very pleasantly surprised to find a true “traditional” Lao food offering in Fort Myers Florida. I am a Lao food junkie but outside of the west coast it is such a rare cuisine to find. I am happy to say the owners of Lan Xang are doing it right and authentic. Spice levels and flavors were extremely on point! As a chef myself I have a huge respect for anyone who can provide food at this quality. I will definitely be back again before I fly out of town!!
This was my first visit at Lan Xang and will certainly be my last! The first thing I noticed was the impressive amount of giant gnats that were buzzing around our table from the moment we sat down. We continued to have to swat them away throughout dining experience. Our food was HORRIBLE! Not limited to, but the Fire Dragon roll. I have never tasted OR smelled fish so rancid and rotten! I tried two pieces of the roll and was running to the bathroom within 10 min. We informed our server who said he would inform manager. The manager walked over to sushi bar and started picking up and sniffing the fish, looked over at our table and gave a dirty look. I obviously didn’t eat and more of it, and 10 minutes later as we were trying to leave had the server drop a “fresh”piece of salmon sashimi at the table. This “fresh” piece was actually orange in color unlike the brownish one that was on my roll. Never came over to talk to us, no apology, didn’t take off the bill!! This fish was brown, STUNK, and tasted like battery acid. You are going to kill someone. I am writing this as I am periodically vomiting from passenger side of vehicle on way home. Your going to kill someone. I will be calling Health Department next.
*Tuna and Salmon are NEVER this color!
Lovely atmosphere with the walls opened up and the breeze blowing on such a gorgeous day! The lunch Pad Thai came with soup and two spring rolls (no pic of those) which is a pretty decent deal at $14. My friends Tom Kha soup was delicious...I would order that next time! I didn't like the chicken laab at all. Still a great lunch with excellent service!
Food was great! Service was eh ok. Water seemed to want to lurk in the corner more than help. Sushi sat on counter for a long while before we got it. Atmosphere was pleasant but clean up the koi pond outside! Lol trash all in it. Maybe have the bar open! Would love to have an Asian themed bar to go to!
We had a great referral from a friend Stumbo! So glad this is not a secret place anymore. The food was authentic and cooked to perfection. The service was stellar. The atmosphere is perfect with live music gently playing. To top it all off the owner goes around to each table to make sure everybody is happy. Who does that anymore? This place will be on our frequent flyer list
This is the best Thai food I've ever had. I got the Tom kha soup (level 1 spice) and pad cashew (level 2), both with tofu. Everything was perfectly cooked, the tofu was fried differently than I've had it elsewhere (in a good way!), the spice level was exactly in line with what I would expect on a scale that goes 1-10. The soup was packed with vegetables and there was plenty of rice. It was awesome.
I forgot to take pictures unfortunately. The service was extremely slow, they were short staffed. There was a host and one waitress on duty. Both were very nice and accommodating but we waited almost an hour to be served, and waited 45 minutes for drinks which ended up to be water since they were out of the drinks we ordered. The food was presented nicely but was mediocre. I ordered sushi and needed to request soy sauce and chopsticks which should be provided. The bathroom floors were sticky. The waitress explained that they were in the process of changing locations. I wanted to love this restaurant but I have definitely had better sushi elsewhere.
Discovered this place while on a business trip. I ordered Thai Red Curry. It tasted absolutely delicious. Shrimp egg rolls had minced shrimp, hardly there for a hefty price. Boba tea tasted good. My reviews are honest and i do this for free to help out other businesses. The prices are very high for appetizers to dinners here. The food taste good I am definitely coming back. I will try other dishes at lunches. The servers needs to be more friendly.
Great food, great service and fantastic people
A nice selection of food. Anything you could want! Just watch out for those liquor prices. They say $6, but they aren't.
Too expensive and it's not Authentic Laos

This is my first time trying junk and noodles. My daughter had told me last week she wanted me to try some and I like OK so she surprised me with some today.
We got lunch and it was mediocre. Laap was dry but the chicken wings were good. Tried to charge me full price for lunch special and happy hour but was settled in a professional manner. Very nice hostess and server.

Love love love it here. everything i’ve tried is amazing & all the employees are lovely. sometimes they’ll have live music in the evening and it’s lovely.
I had wonderful service from my server Anthony, who was such a gentleman and very friendly. I had the small sliced beef pho and chicken spring rolls (eggrolls), which was the best around here! The pho was exactly the wholesome flavor I have been looking for and the spring rolls had the perfect amount of filling (not thin like most others). The small sized pho was a perfect portion, but I forced myself to save some for the next day, which tasted even better. This is the only place I will be going back to for pho!
Loved the location. Beautiful seating. Wonderful service. Enjoyed drunken noodle and a Boba tea. All was yummy.
I will be back.
Went for a baby shower. It was splendid.
This is the best Thai restaurant in town. The food is excellent, and the restaurant has a great ambiance and very nice location. 100% recommended!

the food and atmosphere is top tier. i had my birthday dinner here and they were very nice and accommodating despite our large group of people. the food is awesome and they have great vegan options
Best Pho in Fort Myers!
Edited…I left a horrible comment in 2021. I take it all back. My wife & I have been back many times for great dining. I forgot about my original review which was about a bad experience with an online take out snafu. Their food & service have always been excellent
Good food.
Hidden gem in Fort Myers
Is very bad we come to the restaurant for the first time look the menu very interesting but when we oder the food very bad no test lemonade drink like the water beef dry out very hard no tender we not eat at all the owners come to ask ? We tell her and by the way my boy friend can not eat anny thinks but she not to say nothings and we pay hold bill very disappointed never come Back again is so bad busnic
One of the best places to eat Thai and sushi. Everyone is so friendly, and the karaoke is a blast.
This place has excellent Asian food.
The Fresh Spring Rolls are Delicious!
If you want the best Thai, Vietnamese, Dimsum in Ft Myers look no further than Alan Xang. The food is scratch and cooked with love. I don’t meet many restaurant owners that care about the guest experience as much as Lavina and Rafael do. Delicious food, mouth popping boba drinks, awesome sushi and vegetables that are always cooked just right. Crunch but not raw. Any kind of noodle you want. Vegan or gluten free. Many meat protein options. GO check ‘em out.
I had the best red curry with red snapper and fried rice. Definitely recommend.
The Thai food is always so good!! Friendly wait staff
Such amazing authentic food. I love the diverse menu and I am never disappointed with what I order. It’s a weekly staple

This place is such a gem! I do not recall any visit I have made here where the food was not delicious.
I came out here for the first time the store and my attendant Diego served me an excellent meal. Everything was cooked to how I wanted. Everything was cooked to how I wanted it and every customization I made was also made well. the server did very well in serving up my food. His name is Diego very very good attendant, I haven’t been treated like this in another restaurant for a very long time. I came here with my girlfriend, and it was very pleasant. I would’ve loved to talk to manager for this amazing time but I was short on time, amazing stay I would recommend!
I can sum this place up in just three words.
" Simply the Best "
This restaurant will be losing it's space in this building in the future, and I pray they post and put signs up telling us where they will be moving to.
We love Lanxang! Best sushi and the Thai Basil & green curry are our favorites.
I live this place! The food is delicious and homemade!
I dine here or order take out quite often, however I tried to dine in last Friday. I stood at the hostess stand at 8:29 PM on the dot and the hotess refused to seat us because the kitchen closed at 9:00 PM. I spent many years in the restaurant industry and yes, when guests arrive 5 minutes before closing time, it is quite frustrating - however 31 minutes prior is unheard of to me. If you want to dine here, I don't recommend going at the ghastly late hour of 8:30 PM. You've lost my family's business.
This actually started as a negative review and they were very quick to respond, apologize, and actually address and fix the problem.Very rare these days and very much appreciated. Have been back at least a dozen times and haven't had another issue. And if you do have one, let them know, they actually care enough to do something about it. 🙏🏻🙏🏻 Thank you.
All of the food we ordered was delicious, beautifully presented and good portion sizes. Pad Thai is usually a hit or miss wherever I go and their pad Thai was great. Everyone there was very friendly and the atmosphere was very nice as well. Can't wait to go back!
the food was great and even better service. exceeded all expectations! diego was attentive and friendly as usual
We were here to get sushi and ended up staying for the after hour karaoke party. The Owners Raf and Lavina were great hosts and we’d definitely be back here. 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND
This is really a hidden gem!!!! The food is yummy and it's family owned. It's a nice place to relax and have dinner. And it's big so not a problem with seating.
Lovely atmosphere with the walls opened up and the breeze blowing on such a gorgeous day! Great food and service!!!
This restaurant serves amazing curry dishes. I usually order the green curry with avocado and my son orders the red curry. Both are spectacular! I do caution you that you should go easy on the hotness level that you order. I LOVE hot and spicey food and I find that level 3 is quite hot ... I can't imagine a 4 or a 5. Just know that they aren't playin' when it comes to heat. I also love their Laab. So good. We've had their Pad Thai, the Pho, and the Tom Yum soup. Everything is good .. but the curry and the Laab are special.
First let me preferace this review with the fact that I have traveled extensively to Thailand for the past 25 years. I know what good Thai food tastes like. We have scoured the Ft Myers/ Cape Coral area for a good Thai restaurant. After trying 5-6 restaurants we finally found great traditional Thai food at Lan Xang. They make the traditional Tom Yom Goong (shrimp) that tastes just like what you expect in Bangkok. The rest of our meal was just as excellent. If you like Thai food, I would highly recommend Lang Xang if you want Thai food that comes as close as you can get outside of Thailand.
We were really disappointed in this place, the service was incredible and the atmosphere is beautiful however some of the food came out overcooked and falling apart and some came out undercooked. We ended up getting extremely sick after! 😖
Great 👍 no
Expectations but was a good delivery
Lavina was a wonderful host and Preston was an attentive server. The food was great!
Good food and service was nice. Went for lunch. Only thing I’d say is the menus don’t have the prices on them for the lunch menu, it just saws starting at… so ask before ordering if you don’t want a surprise at the end. Portions are good size and food is fresh.
Lunch and or dinner, we love the food ! Whether it’s sushi and or Thai food we recommend this family owned restaurant. Chicken Pad Tai level 3 or 4 spice level is 🔥🔥🔥, spring rolls all tuna rolls. My wife usually gets chicken curry and loves it. Highly wand enjoy a relaxed chill restaurant.
Such good food! Big portions and competitive prices. I've tried many items and I've never been disappointed but I definitely have my favorites that I go back to time and again like the Lao sausage and the papaya salad.
this is the most amazing authentic food in all of fort myers. amazing staff and flavor bursting food. you must eat here!!! 💙
We went to Lan Xang for the first time tonight. We absolutely loved it and had a very memorable experience. The appetizers, Tom Kha Gai soup (best we ever had), and the sushi & sashimi were all wonderful. We had Sunny make custom rolls and sashimi for the table, it was amazing with exceptionally fresh fish. Sunnys rolls are always as tasty as they are beautiful works of art. We were celebrating a birthday and out came a fried banana dessert that was more than enough for the table and yummy. We love to support locally owned restaurants, this one really impressed us. Great food, outstanding service, and wonderful atmosphere. We look forward to going back.
I got delivery twice now and both times the soup and salad rolls are just so excellent. I ordered the same thing. The salad rolls are stuffed with vegetables really good peanut sauce. I got the tofu soup and you can choose how hot you want it which I really liked that aspect since I like mine pretty hot. Just absolutely highly recommend really good food!
Huge portions! My and my family have loved everything we've ordered there!
Laos sausage, crab rangoons, pad ped, pad see ew, Tom kha soup!
I rarely write bad reviews, but this curry is the worst curry I have ever eaten. Watery green liquid with five small shrimps and vegetables in vivid green color and awful smell. This mix of green liquid is not curry. Sushi has way to much rice! I don't recommend it!!
Even though it’s tucked away…, EXCELLENT pho, sushi & everything else. 👍🏻👍🏻
Great lunch with friends yesterday. The Happy Lunch menu is great value.
Love the soup!
Lots of vegetarian options.
There simply are not enough words to describe how out of this world magnificent the food from this place is. Truly. Vietnamise and Thai are some of my all time favorite cuisines. I come from California, where we get some of the best Thai and Vietnamese restaurants— this place is simply a gift from the food Gods themselves. Ever since I discovered it, I’ve been eating from there 4 times a week. I don’t even order the same meal… they have so many phenomenal dishes that I get something new every time and every single time it just exceeds my expectations over and over again. What a true gem this place is!!!
Atmosphere was meh. Server was relatively clueless as to what was going on the entire time we were there. Food was pretty good, but not good enough to return anytime soon. Chicken soup was very salty and contained little chicken. Sushi quality and taste varied greatly from piece to piece. Fried rice didn't have any flavor. Nothing else really stuck out as a "must try" or a "stay away". It was fairly average all around. It'd be a tough sell to come back.
Ok 1st time there. Waiter dario was 5 stars. I give 3 stars for 2 reasons. 1. The prices is a bit much. Husband and I are used to going out to eat. We know whats a fair price. We ordered 2 fried rices, 5pc chicken wings, 2 appetizers one of them was $19 for an appetizer? and 2 boba teas. Our bill was $93 once we added tip $111. Sorry but even pf changs which is 5stars we pay a lot less or ginger bistro or Maks Asian grill which is also 5stars.
2. the fried rice was too moist and mushy to be called fried rice. The crispy cauliflour rice lettuce wraps was amazing and the crispy beef jerky but not for $19. 😳 PS. the boba drinks were yummy. So in conclusion, food was not worth the amount spent but i think its worth going for boba and appetizers since i saw the sushi was fairly priced.
*PHO* = NOT GREAT!
Will NOT be coming back for more. No amount of fixings will change the fact that it's not great broth and meat quality from the start.
Sushi+apps were decent. Waitress was new and clueless about most things, as if she had ZERO training.
Oh boy.... "Maybe" might come back around in a while? But plenty of other better, newer places to consider in the immediate area.
Restaurant situated in a OLD [not cute, historic type old...] run down, strip mall.
Lee County Homeless Coalition in the same plaza. ALOT of back packers moving thru. Better make sure to hide your stuff and lock your car kind of vibes.
Best Thai in FM
Great flavor and to get to a high end cost people would pay, start with not using Publix frozen peas and carrots…easy fix.
Words cannot express how fantastic the food is at Lan Xang. I have not been this happy at a restaurant in a very long time.
Our waitress was knowledgeable about the food options, and shared her own favorites. She confirmed that the owners and cooks are all Laotian and Thai. They cook authentic, delicious food that I haven't stopped thinking about since.
The Tom Kha soup was the perfect amount of sour, sweet and savory, and it was chock full of veggies and fresh herbs.
The Laos Crispy Rice Wraps - my heart, these were unforgettable! I got them with tofu. The texture and taste were such that I couldn't stop eating them long after I felt full. They serve them with fresh strips of galangal (Thai ginger) that are crunchy & spicy, and crisp fresh lettuce.
My husband loved his Drunken Noodle dish. His lychee juice was a unique offering you don't find at all Thai/Laos restaurants.
I wish we lived in the area as we would go back again and again!
Amazing food and authentic. They offer a lot of Lao and Thai dishes that you cannot find other places.
Second time ordering takeout from Lan Xang today and was very happy we tried it again. The first time we ordered most of our dishes 2 or 3 star which ended up being incredibly spicy. I usually order this way at other Thai restaurants in town and find the dishes much milder so beware if you don't like spicy food. But once we found our perfect level of spice, we were super happy with the flavorful food we had. The pad Thai, pad se ew and summer rolls were some of the best I've had in town. I did use the recommended app to order and did not find the bubble tea on it, which I ordered last time, so hope to see that added in the future as it was also quite good!!
Fantastic food! My grandkids ordered their meals 1 star and they were too spicy for me. I ordered the mild chicken noodle soup and it was very flavorful.
Great restaurant with plenty of incredible food choices. One warning: the food is a little spicy. I like spicy so I took medium but it was hot as hell. Everything was great including service.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Lan Xang and I must say it blew my taste buds away. It was hands down the best Thai food I've ever had!
From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the authentic Thai atmosphere. But it was the food that stole the show. The menu offered a wide variety of traditional dishes and creative twists.
The service was top-notch. The staff was knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food they served.
Overall, this Thai restaurant is a must-visit if you love Thai cuisine or want to try something new. It's the best Thai food I've ever had, and if your ever in the Fort myers area it is a must go to. I honestly can't wait to go back.
Very good food. The server we had was great. Soft spoken and very accommodating. Such a sweet soul.
Shrimp summer rolls were good the only thing negative, I got a bit of shrimp tail in one. Which is not terribly bad I just ate around it.
Thai tea was very good. Flavor was on point.
I myself had the shrimp pho. Which was very good. There was a plentiful amount of shrimp in the large order (which next time, I’ll be getting a small.)
My partner got, pad teriyaki with beef and chicken wings, which were priced really well for the amount. I honestly liked his more than mine just because the flavor was so amazing with the teriyaki and the wings were that old school style Asian wings. Super crispy and Huge.
This was a very decent experience. And a very good place to eat.
Excellent food and service, they recently hosted a Yelp event and it was my first time there and we tried a bit of everything and it was all excellent.
The service is great, so attentive and really help explain the menu for me since I am not as versed in Thai cuisine.
It is a little hard to find, but well worth the trip.
Love this place.
Food is actually delicious this used to be one of my fave Asian food spots in Lee county. But I have decided to no longer eat here anymore because of the manager. Although I have bought food from here before and I am always in the plaza even if I’m not eating here, I have never visited this location and seen a packed house. They have outside tables that are always empty. With that being said I was sitting at one of their always empty tables waiting for a really bad rainstorm to pass and the manager had a server come out and inform me I cannot sit there because I was not a paying customer. The funniest part about this is while I was sitting there waiting for the storm to pass I was contemplating getting some food to go but I immediately changed my mind after that and will not be buying from here again. It was rude and inconsiderate. Just a tip to the manager the people you’re kicking out of your ALWAYS empty tables are your customers and or potential customers. I am not a problematic person and completely understand if they were busy and they needed the table I would have no problem moving some where else what’s rude is the fact that you barely have any customers and feel the need to push the few that you do have away.
Excellent food excellent service! It's worth a stop!
This place is amazing but has gotten pricey. Super friendly staff, plenty of outdoor seating, and the food is phenomenal. They have a wide variety of dishes for any palate, are happy to work with vegetarian and vegan requests, and the meals are always hot and delicious with very generous portions. EXCELLENT local business!
Traditional on a few different levels Vietnamese, Chinese ,Thai and Japanese cuisine . Service was outstanding. Sushi Chef definitely knows his Craft. I'll definitely be eating here again soon.
Such a good restaurant!
This is the most authentic Asian cuisine in the area, hands down 🤌😎
I have eaten at Lan Xang a number of times but what has inspired a review this time is I'm just incredibly impressed. I believe Lan Xang is owned by Lao owners but they do it all- Lao, Thai, Japanese, and Vietnamese. Typically this is a big red flag for me for any Asian restaurant because it's really difficult to be a master of all things and you lose quality on the individual dishes. I decided to gamble today and try their pad thai because I was really, REALLY craving some and so glad I tried it because it is amazing. Tangy sauce(not peanutbuttery) loaded with veggies and a generous heaping of tofu(most places aren't as generous) I can safely order it again and know I won't be disappointed. There are a ton of dishes on their menu I would like to still try but some of the ones I've tried that have been standouts include: Tofu Laab- it is herbaceous, texture experience and if you are wanting to try something new and Lao I think it's a great introductory dish. The cozy noodle soup instantly makes me feel better every time I order it. Thick, slurpy udon noodles in a warming broth is great if you want something filling but not heavy. Their lettuce wraps were delicious too! The tangy sauce and crunchy rice mixture with the protein is really delicious! I would say the veggie pho was just okay but I'm not convinced that some of their other Vietnamese dishes aren't spectacular. Their boba is always on point and I think usually freshly made( to the point they will make it fresh if they don't have it ready so be patient.) I am told(I don't eat meat typically) their sushi is great and they have a lot unusual roll combinations. Usually a safe bet time wise if you are order online I just did Uber eats and had it under an hour so it was still nice and hot. The restaurant has a nice ambience as well and really good vibe I think it's a great date spot. Ultimately you should try Lan Xang because it's not your run of the mill hibachi or just a bunch stir fried dishes asian restaurant. You can really try something new and they prepare the old favorites incredibly too! Their food is always fresh and prepared with quality and I will continue to patron them! Keep making yummy food!
Everything was absolutely delicious! The food was amazing and flavorful and my family had an amazing experience all around. Atmosphere was calm and quiet and our server, Patrick, was wonderful and kind. The manager, Kiana, was super sweet and lovely to talk to as she also came to greet us and check on us! We will definitely be back soon for more!
Had a great experience here. Staff was great and our waitress Karmen made us feel like we've been dining here for years. Our group has had Thai/Lao food in many different places throughout our travels and Lan Xang is at the top of the list. The flavors and fresh ingredients you cant beat. Recommend to anyone and will return in the future. Thanks!
We drove from the Cape to try this place and it did not disappoint. We had surprise curry, beef pad see ew and summer rolls with peanut sauce. Wonderful food and service. We'll definitely be back. Oh and the chicken laab was outstanding!
Very yummy. Good service. It’s nice inside. Nothing not to love here
Really cute place for dinner! Yummy food and quick polite service only made it better!
Absolutely love Lang Xang. One of the best restaurants around. The food is always fresh and delicious. The staff are always amazing, and the environment of the restaurant overall is great very homey feeling love the ambient low key lighting. Pad Thai and chicken pho and crab rangoons are amazing.:)
I actually absolutely love the food and service here! It's top of the line...
With that said, they recently really cut back on their portions. For what I paid, I expect to not be hungry when I'm done eating...
If they fix this, their score will be a five in my book!
I just went here for lunch today 3/21/2023. I walked in and the hostess was chatting with friends and totally ignored us. Another server came out and seated us. the restaurant was dark and dingy. We were seated in a darker corner by the bathroom even though the restaurant was virtually empty. We were given the menu's and the greeter left. Our server then came up and I ordered an app and a coke. My co worker had gone to the restroom and when she returned we ordered out food. My co worker has a food allergy and asked the server what was in a roll she wanted. The server said shrimp and crab. My co worker then said she did not want row on the rolls so the server went to the kitchen to be sure there was no row on the rolls. We then ordered our food. When the rolls came out it had cream cheese in it that she can not eat. She told the server that she could not eat it as it had cheese in it. The server very rudely told her will you still have to pay for it! She said but I asked you what was in it before I ordered it and you said nothing about cheese. The server said but I did not really know. So she asked for the manager who came out and told us that the customer is not always right and she would have to pay for the roll even though she could not eat it. The manager was hostile and rude. My co worker told her she works part time as a server and understands the frustration but that she did ask about what was in the roll before ordering it. She was told that she server is not expected to know every item on the menu. So the service was horrendous. Our server was rude from the beginning to the end. Now about the food. I ordered a shrimp spring roll. It was not horrible but I would not order it again. The vegetable soup was terrible I did not eat it. The regular spring roll that came with my dish was good. The pad tai was terrible wait it was TERRIBLE! it was mushy noodles with no taste and rubber shrimp. I would have to say do not waste you time or money going to this restaurant. The atmosphere is dark and dingy. The service is incredibly rude. I have never been to a restaurant where the customer was treated to rudely. I would strongly advise to go anywhere else.
The food was good, the service was really bad. We ordered two glasses of Cabernet, two glasses of water and two beers. The server brought beer and wine, no water. The wine was bad, we didn’t like it (they don’t have a brand on the menu) but our server was not coming, so we asked the bartender if he can give us a different brand of Cabernet. They didn’t have it so we asked for different red wine, we picked Pinot Noir and asked for a sample, just to make sure we will like it, so the bartender gave us a sample and we said yes. But apparently bartender in that restaurant is not eligible to serve drinks, so he had to go to “consult” it with our server (as the manager, who we didn’t ask for, later explained to us) They were “consulting” it about 15 minutes and then our server came with two glasses of white wine. We said we didn’t order it, that we don’t drink white wine and we want what we agreed on with the bartender.
We had appetizers, my husband was ready for a second beer, but still didn't have wine nor water. Then the manager came. A young lady, she apologized, she said the wine is on her, she said there was a miscommunication between the bartender and a server, she tried to explain unexplainable, because we talked directly to the bartender, he knew what we wanted, he gave us a sample, he just didn’t give us what we wanted, because he had to consult it with our server and after that he got lost somehow.. so my husband said that she should check if the bartender is ok, because he might be high, or drunk, because the whole situation is very unusual and something is not right. Her answer was that she would appreciate if we don’t insult her staff. With that she just escalated the whole situation. We were ok with two young confused boys, we were not rude, or arrogant, we didn’t boss them around, we were still trying to be nice. So the whole feedback is for you – young lady manager. Our server was probably busy - we would be ok with that, the bartender- I don’t know what to say, very incompetent, to you I can only say- very bad job. And if you will continue to be a bad manager, then the service in the restaurant will never get better. It’s your job to make it work, not to attack dissatisfied customers back, because from dissatisfied you made us angry.
And we stayed only because we had a 100 dollar gift card, which you were not able to process so we left with leaving you a gift card and a cash, because it was impossible even to check out, for another 20 minutes.
-We didn’t have our drinks after almost 30 minutes in
-We didn’t get one of our appetizers (we got it with our main course, when we asked about it)
-The glasses were filthy
-You were not able to serve 4 people’s main course at once
Updating for a new visit:
Well..back to Lan Xang Fort Myers..another great meal in the books, live music this time ..barely made it to happy hour (so at least , got one Cosmo for $6 ; )). Steamed dim sum was amazing (to the point I drove to Leaf Asian market and bought a bamboo steamer), cosmos are always delish (even better when they r on happy hour), Bobalicious roll was a delight (made w fresh salmon instead of tuna)..yum. Service was lovely 😊..after the dinner ..took a stroll 🚶♀️ through Royal palm square ..all this vegetation , fountains, water views did wonders on my tired soul. Can’t wait to go back to Lan Xang for some more dim sum 🥟 and sushi 🍣. — at Lan Xang Fort Myers.
Lovely first experience at Lan Xang. I saw some pics in their FB page and decided to give it a try this Sunday. Chef courteously made the item that wasn’t on the menu-trip of hand rolls, spicy salmon, tuna and yellow tail..it was a freaking amazing , after that I could only eat half of their Kan Xang roll w tempura lobster..what a treat but could def be eaten alone as entree ..my plate was full…happy hr on Sunday? Heck yes..I had a cosmopolitan for $6 as well as great quality Long Island for the same price ! I shall return to such a fine establishment . Surroundings were sweet and worth of exploring: )
Bad
Love every thing on the menu. Very accommodating to dietary needs and heat level. Unique sushi, too! Live music, indoor or outdoor, and a private party room.
I've been here twice and the first time the food was good so we decided to come again and the experience was nothing like the first time. We were asking the waitress questions about ordering options with food and after being told 5 times no I said I'm hoping we can eventually get a yes. My wife asked about spices when ordering and the waitress said you can't change spices on small orders only on large orders then asked about getting less roasted rice with order and she said that's the only way it comes. My wife asked for medium spice and the waitress wrote it down but failed to explain the levels of spices 1-5 I then said something and said their level 3 is really hot and not medium. The waitress then started to correct us like we were little children who didn't understand what we were talking about. When the food came it literally had no spice. The food was okay this time but the waitress kinda ruined our dining experience. They had the doors open and we had to keep swatting flies away while eating.
Lan Xang is a hidden gem in Fort Myers… We moved from a big city with a few downtown upscale Vietnamese/ Laotian restaurants that required reservations at least a month in advance. The food at Lan Xang surpasses all of them. The food is fresh and authentic. They will make recommendations based on your tolerance to spice as well. Definitely in the top 3 of Ft. Myers restaurants and we are very picky.
Horrible experience last night. And they messed up my order and they didn’t wanna fix it and And they messed up my order and they didn’t wanna fix it and they were very rude and I had to go back. Not impressed with customer service at all. Been going there for a couple years and I will never go back.
I got home and I told him about my order and they made me bring the entire order back and they didn’t comp anything and had no apology for the breakdown. I asked to talk to a manager, but she was hiding somewhere in the back and never came out so I left sad, but I am not giving them my business cover by the way Bangkok Thai so much better.
Our family had the most delightful appetizers and dinner at this restaurant. The burst of flavors in everything that we tried was amazing and delicious. The chef came out to talk to us and our server answered so many questions. We cannot wait to come back another time hello
There was only a few tables full and the service was horrible. They forgot our drinks and we didn’t even say anything negative when they came out finally after the food. Then ordered a horrible desert with rotten fruit on it. Sent it back and the manager actually said “they don’t take food back”. They told me to take it home to a family member instead… rotten food! I was speechless. The owner/manager clearly needs some courses on customer service and how to properly keep food from spoiling.
best Tom Ka in the state!
1/2023 use to be great, it was my favorite and I ordered at least 3 times a week. Now its water with a splash of coconut milk...not edible. I've tried it several times in the last few months, absolutely awful.
The only good pho I've found. Really nice outside dining.
Great food, great value.
The chicken pad Thai is SO good. It’s flavorful with just the right amount of sauce. Ordered it with level 1 spice and it was pretty spicy but not unbearable. Also the salad rolls and peanut sauce are delicious. 10/10!
Amazing atmosphere and food! Curry soup was delicious.
We come here all the time, we love the variety of the menu and the new sushi is great! We always get appetizers, entrees, and boba! The only thing is, the service from the wait staff is always pretty bad. The food is great so we keep coming back, but honestly, as often as we come, I can’t remember a time where we had good service. My husband and I both have worked in the service industry so we give a lot of slack. Just a few tips: be more attentive and try to be better at anticipating guests needs (drink refills, chop sticks, napkins, check, etc) Often times we come in and there are only a few other tables so it looks really bad when we can’t get a single refill or have to ask the sushi chef for a Togo box or something else. Anyway, that being said, we will always return for more of that delicious food just wish there was improvement with wait staff.
Sooo Amazing Sooo Delicious!!!! Tastes brings me back to some of the best memories!!! 10/22/22 I actually was able to go and eat at the restaurant today! The food was AMAZING!!! Our waitress katelynn was Awesome !!! The Resturant is kept super clean especially the restrooms!!! If I could I would be giving 10 ⭐️S!!! Love love this restaurant 🙏
Clean. Great service and food. My Royal Palm roll was to die for and the dumplings were amazing!
The food was amazing and the service was great. I can't wait to return and try everything on the menu.
WOW! One of my new favorite places. I finally got around to trying it and I loved everything we ordered. The service is amazing and the food tastes so fresh. I recommend getting a milk tea with your meal as well :) this place is a gem.
Lovely place. As soon I enter the restaurant I was greeted by beautiful faces and excellent service. I had the sushi rolls and they were made to perfection very! The Pho broth was very rich and tasty and some of the best I’ve tasted along the East Coast! This place is definitely a treat!
We had tried this place through a friend who frequents here. Was amazing!!! So ordered the same thing for a special dinner and ordered spring rolls and asked for hot mustard- we didn’t know that hot mustard was not a Thai thing and certainly meant no disrespect. We received this message on the box which we thought might have been a cute way to educate us- until we tasted the pad Thai- we asked for level three bc that was what we had had twice before at my fiends place, but when we received it was too hot to eat. We wondered if this restaurant was very angry at us asking for hot mustard. Even my friend said it was never that spicey before. We ordered vegetable fried rice and totally get there was a misunderstanding- we wanted it the way they make it- we picked for extra veggies option on the dash app and asked if the extra veg could be onions and eggs(I know that eggs aren’t veg But there was not button for that. We got all 13$ of fried rice with big onions and egg only. Totally get that that was an obvious misunderstanding bc the app says extra veg but if you clarify what extra veg it gets confusing. It was the whole thing. We didn’t mean to insult anyone with the spicy mustard request. We thank you for the education on spicy mustard and spring rolls are not of your culture. The last two times we had your pad Thai was the best thing ever. Don’t know if this restaurant was really angry at us bc of the result of the rest of the food. We may try again in hopes of the first two times. It was amazing. Just please know- do not order hot mustard with the spring rolls. We certainly won’t make that mistake again. But will continue to try all kinds of cultures for food.
We love eating here! Not sure why this place is never full but it is a hidden treasure. One of the best Asian foods we've had in Fort Myers. Everything is always so yummy and prices are amazing!
We've been looking for good Thai in Ft Myers and are so happy to have found this. I've always seen it when at Ft Myers school of music and wondered. I'm always in search of good pad Thai and Lan Xang didn't disappoint. It's the first good pad Thai I've found since we moved here. Also had the Krab rolls. Very tasty. We'll be back for sure!
One of the best places in town try the curry dishes
Took the family here because of good reviews... Big mistake! All the foods were very salty, from the egg rolls to the Pho, fried rice, and pad thai. Very salty so we ate less than half the foods we ordered. Filled our stomachs up with water. Never again.
The pho was hard the papaya wasn’t Spicy they charged us money to make the noodles softer
Pho was luke warm, the meat was chewy and tasted old. I ordered boba milk tea which was great but the jelly was hard I ordered 4 additional bobas out of all 5 only 2 were good. The other milk teas had boba, that was really soft and runny like consistency. The waitress was nice but took 15 minutes to come to the table to bring drinks, came by for a refill one time in the hour I was there. I will not be coming back.
If you want authentic Lao food this is it. I wish I had a longer stay to try a lot of the food but I had to leave.
Many menu items to choose from. Nice courteous staff. Food is great. I've been going here for a few years and staff had always been great with customer service and food is delicious
The best! Love the food, staff and owners. Such great variety, flavors and Yummy-ness.
Always great food with the best flavors! I drive from Cape to eat here. Try the papaya salad with level 2 spice. Yum 🤤
LOVE IT THERE! The chicken wings are very good, the beef jerky there is also good especially with that sauce, also I dont like pho but my mom does and she loves it, and their chicken fried rice is very good!
Awesome place we went for a bday party and had a blast great atmosphere, karaoke and drinks are great 👍 👍
The staff was very friendly and everything was very clean.
Our group tried 2 appetizers and 4 seperate entrées and everything was delicious and full of flavor! My only regret was that I was too full for dessert. Will have to make it a point to return and remedy that in the future 😊
Worst food ever, we understand that they were short staff and so do everyone but it’s about the Food. We were placing order they said they need to charge $1.00 extra as there is shortage of chickens in country LOL. We ordered chicken satay and it came dry as bone. Such a waste of time and money.
If it was me I wouldn't give any start at all, i don't understand how people are giving good reviews unless they are fake reviews and make it seem like is real. Food was NOT good at all, customer service wasn't good either. Waitress didn’t came to refill our drink until the end. I WOULDN'T recommend this place, very disappointed
Excellent food snd service. Highly recommend.
The mango curry was delicious!!!
Second time going. Excellent service and the food is the best Thai around. They will make it how you desire! Love this place
Delicious. Definitely try the frozen boba teas.
Great food for a great price. Definitely top Thai and Vietnamese restaurant in fort myers. Everything I’ve ordered has been consistent.
We love the food here and the staff is very friendly!
My husband and I are big fans of Thai food and ordered pick-up from Lan Xang yesterday. We were surprised when we got there that the actual prices were $3-4 dollars higher than they advertise on their website's menu. For example, we thought we were ordering Drunken Noodle for $9.99 and ending up paying $12.95. Same thing with Krab Rangoon, Salad Rolls, Red Curry, and Tom Kha. Overall, the staff should responsibility for the website menu's false advertising and offer discounts when things aren't right.
Expected flavorful Thai cuisine. It was merely Thai. The rice had the smell of plumbing pipes. The decor was cheap/depressing and the prices suggested otherwise.
Really great food at a great price. They were able to modify for food aversion. I was super impressed with the coconut rice. So good. Was pretty slow so didn't need a reservation
There aren't a lot of Asian restaurants in Fort Myers so we decided to try this one. Service is great, food is super yummy.
This was truly extraordinary food, Best we’ve had outside of Thailand. The salmon and banana leaf was quite unusual as well as incredibly delicious, we also loved the drunken noodles, the curry, the coconut soup with tofu, A delicious dish with a green vegetable that was pretty plain can’t remember the name and we also got a Vietnamese dish that was lemon grass from a chili and a papaya salad everything was outstanding.
So delicious! We loved it! Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese are our absolute favorite and this restaurant does not disappoint. Highly recommend!
staff here is amazing ! And I will definitely be coming back the food was great!
I order the cozy noodle soup almost every month on DoorDash from these angels. The BEST SOUP EVER!!!! Literally taste like pure authentic udon noodle soup your grandma wish she could make. Actually looking forward to leaving work today to order this for dinner with my friend. Better than any PHO you’ve had, better than any chicken noodle soup you have EVER had. This is a taste you’ll never forget and everything is fresh, carefully crafted and you will finish it wanting it every weekend or every rough workday. Do not slack on ordering food from here. Pure delish and such a rare find for Lee county! Love you guys!
Curry is very good, i like it
Had two major, major issues with the food this most recent sunday (I wont post the photos but, lets just say it was health-related). The extra star is only because the two servers were quick to rectify the situation. But that kitchen and the management needs to do some serious changes to their work habits. Would have been a potentially good meal if it was safe to eat.
(Edit: If any management is reading this, please do not punish the kitchen staff in a way that affects their income. I've worked in restaurants for a long time and it equally falls on you guys too. I just really think you guys need to enforce stricter safety standards because one of us could have been seriously hurt.)
All I can say is WOW! We ordered with Uber because I had an uber coupon and I’m so chose we chose this restaurant.
We ordered Tom Kha, Curry noodle soup, pad lemongrass and homemade lau sausages
Everything is Fabulous!!!! A lot of vegan dishes for me and my husband enjoyed the sausages and we look forward to eventually trying everything on the menu !
Highly recommend!
It’s not often that our tastebuds crave Asian food. Maybe it’s cause my wife’s Korean and she makes all of the Korean dishes for me BUT when we want authentic Asian food, whether it’s Indian, Korean, Japanese or Thai, there are a select few that we would recommend, often times helping friends pick through the proverbial weeds of bad restaurants.
This, LAN Xang is such a place. Everything seems authentic, cared for, effort put into and the dishes are delicious. It’s not run of the mill, pour MSG and soy sauce and call it a day. Or have prepackaged sauces you just pour into the woks. We honestly feel this is a hidden gem in SWFL and don’t just listen to me, look at the photos! (Mine by the way)
Great food! Every time we visit Naples we make sure to eat here. Worth it every time. Reasonable prices too.
Always a great time ordering take out! Haven’t dinned in but the food for takeout is always amazing regardless of its lunch or dinner! Staff is always friendly whenever I go pick up food! Overall 10/10 would order takeout again!
Very very very good, Katelynn was awesome
Food was killer
I saw it on a delivery app and had to try some menu items. The pho broth is tasty, wish the meat portions and sizes were bigger though. It doesn't have all the typical stuff in there like tendon, tripe, cooked and uncooked beef :( I grew up eating giant portions of pho full of goodies. Can't compain with taste though. The drunken noodles were fantastic! I love spicy food but level 4 made me cry, it was so spicy! Level 3 might be my level. Price and portion size are great. Will definitely try other items in the future.
Pho was alright. Jalapeños and bean sprouts weren't fresh. Shriveled and discoloration turned me off from putting them in. I may give it another shot
