Pinto Thai Kitchen was founded by Jamaree Raj in 2018. It was sold to Fang T. in 2022.
Pinto (pin-toh) is a Thai word for a portable food container – like a lunch box. When we were little, Mom prepared delightful food for us that we carried every day to school in a Pin-Toh.
There is seating inside and a patio in front.
Free parking is available behind the restaurant. A traffic light at the intersection of Central Ave and Woolard Ave allows for easy access and exit from all directions. GRUB HUB DELIVERY IS AVAILABLE.
Look at how bouncy and succulent the noodles are. Pad see ew was really tasty! I ordered a spicy level 2 and I would say that’s plenty of heat. This place feels very homestyle and familial. Basically had the whole place to myself when I dine-in. Staff was very attentive. Would come again with a smaller group.
Papaya salad was yummy. Ton kha shrimp seemed overpriced with several shrimps and little veggie, but flavorer at the right level. Drunken noodle was mediocre. Red curry was the best among what we ordered, not over seasoned or being too creamy. Pla pad cha (tilapia) was good, but different than what we imagined from menu description.
Phenomenal Thai food! We were visiting NY from TX and found this place on the map. Best decision ever. The Drunken Noodles were the best I’ve EVER had and I get it at every Thai restaurant I go to. My husband’s Pad See Ew was amazing as well! We got both with chicken and spicy level 3. I will say…it was VERY spicy. Still worth it!
Decent Thai restaurant, spring rolls were 5/5, Gyoza were 3/5, beef noodle soup was 3/5. Noodle soup was bland, beef pieces were cut too thick and very chewy. Spring rolls were among the best I have eaten, dumplings were deep fried and had a odd flavor which I didn't really enjoy. Service was excellent and the restaurant itself, though small, is nice.
I've waited for over a year to have Chef Chai's cooking again. Today I had the Pad See Ew. The noodles had a nice Char flavor, the chicken was tender and the dish was not greasy. A Thai iced tea was very much appreciated on a warm October day.
The restaurant has about 9 tables and seats about 26 customers. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable. The menu is very large with both Thai and Korean dishes. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. It's a great place for both lunch and dinner. Parking and entrance are available behind the restaurant off Woolard Ave.
Pinto has a problem...they make others look mediocre. Stunning food! Great service. Lovely atmosphere.

Great food! Excellent service! Polite an fast. Took it to go. But you can eat there.

This was my first time and the last time ordering from here. I ordered eggplant with shrimp and beef drunken noodles. The eggplant was not cooked at all and the noodles were over cooked therefore was not even edible. I was very disappointed!!!!!!
Pretty good thai place. The portions are large and I recommend the higher spice levels.
This place does the best Pad See Ew I have been able to find in the capital region, and I have (so far) tried and re-tried 6 separate Thai Restaurants.
It’s magical - a little smokey, a little sweet, always delicious. They do these paper thin slices of carrot that are cooked perfectly and use stir fried Chinese broccoli that adds an excellent flavor. The rice noodles are always chewy and so so so satisfying.
I try to only get it once a week, but I definitely want it more often. You should get it too. It’s great.
Amazing pad Thai

Food is great staff is friendly
One of the best Thai restaurants I have gone to! Was in Albany for 3 days and went back all three days to try different dishes - did not disappoint me even once. So yum I had to take some dishes back to my family in NYC 😀!!
Best Thai food in the capital region and the staff are very polite and accommodating…I’d give them 6 stars if I could.
Great desserts!
Very clean restaurant! The owner is really nice, she had the food ready even before the pick-up time. The food is absolutely delicious and in big servings too. Shrimp pad thai is my favorite. Will 100% come back here. Off street parking is behind the restaurant.
Great food with quick and friendly service
I arrived for my pickup just before closing. The place smelled amazing Not from Thai food but from being cleaned before closing. I loved that. Once I opened my food it was hot, delicious, and nothing short of amazing. I had Chicken Satay with peanut sauce & Thai fried rice. Definitely. A 10 . A must visit
I love dining in and ordering take out from here. Their lunch specials are great for the price and portion size. Dinner portions are even bigger and only a few more dollars. This is our local Thai place and we love regularly ordering from here.
Will definitely come back. Pad Thai was a very plentiful serving and tasted delicious. Chicken gyoza and sauce was also very good.
Without a question the best Thai food in the area. Food is delicious and generous both dine-in and delivery. Never know what to order because all the options are so good. And the staff are best especially Fang who is always there. Love this place so much
Food was ok. I had the red curry with chicken and salad lunch special. All white-meat chicken was flavorless, the sauce a bit bland for my taste and a bit chalky. Prices were very good. Staff was very good and helpful.
I'll give them another shot. Hopefully this curry wasn't a good example of their offerings.
Atmosphere reminds me if an old cafeteria; bright lights and formica tables.
This cute little hole in the wall has the freshest Thai food of anywhere I’ve eaten in the United States! Family owned, nice atmosphere, and they will tailor make your dishes as needed. We come here every time in Albany can’t say enough good things about this place!
Tasty
Our group of five visited Pinto on our way from Sheboygan, WI to Boston. Easy access from I-90 and parking next to rear entrance. We are Thai experienced diners (in addition to beer and brats) and were unanimous in giving five stars. The food was delicious, portions generous and service friendly and competent. The dining room was clean and well lit. Bathroom clean and homey. The two vegetarians in our group found their dishes flavorful and veggies fresh and perfectly cooked. Our only concern is their need for larger signage. We highly recommend Pinto Thai!
I am so happy that I found this Thai gem. I went in hoping that the food would be good and authentic. I was not disappointed! In addition to the tasty food, the service was great! An awesome representation of the land of smiles.. I will definitely be back!
First time eating here, but it won't be the last. Food and service were excellent. The Pong Karee Noodle lunch special was great, spiced just like I requested.
Great food!
What a great find! In town for work and found this gem. 100% yummy and friendly...cute interior and outside seating. Will definitely be back!
Food had great flavors/spice/temp, and portions were a good size. It's a great place to grab a casual lunch.
Worst Thai food ever! Not at all recommended. Green curry was green water only and Penang curry was red water, thats it.
I really like Thai food, especially curries. Pinto has about 5 or so different Curries. Tonight I had the Yellow, last visit it eas Green. Both were .fabulous! The deph of flavor they achieve in their curries will Not disappoint. Hats off to the chef!! The pad Thai is excellent as well. Thai iced coffee and Iced green tea are refreshing and delicious. If you like Thai food, you'll love Pinto!!
Just made another trip to Pinto. I ordered the fried rice with yellow curry a d chicken. I also got an order of fried chicken wings which were really tasty. Always a great experience at Pinto.
Burnt food
Delicious
Delicious
Delicious!
The food was fantastic and spring rolls also. I had Thai tea 🍵 which I never had was good. The staff and place is fantastic cozy. Loved it I recommend it. This wasn't my first time been here few times before ❤️❤️
Best Thai food in Cap Region!
Every single menu use the same ingredients and fried rice is wet . Really hard to make bad asian food. Very disappointing.
What a nice little hidden gem. I had one of the best drunken noodle there. It was a large portion for lunch and had a lot of all the ingredients for the price. The service was nice and friendly. I would definitely go back when I'm in that area.
The server was polite and quick. I ordered the Pad Mixed Vegetables with Beef and the Miso soup. Everything was fresh and delicious. The Thai tea was refreshing, as well.
The Chicken Pad Thai was the best I had ever had - it tasted so fresh with an abundance of flavor! The garlic and pepper chicken was also extremely delicious! Overall the service was quick, food was delicious, and staff was friendly and personal!
Fantastic food, lovely people, and the lunch special is a great deal! Try the homemade coconut ice cream Thai style; it’s delicious!
The food at Pinto is unexpectedly delicious. You can tell whoever is cooking puts a lot of love into the dishes. Pad see ew, spring rolls, spicy duck salad, Tom yum with shrimp ALL highly recommended. Thank you Pinto Thai
This place is Amazing, the spring rolls are Amazing I Love this Place
Great fresh meal. Excellent price. Best service.
I got the Hoi tod and the pad Thai. Both were miles better than other Thai restaurants I’ve tried in the area. It is always a good sign when they give you the right sauces and those sauces are also homemade.
Check out our pics! Food is awesome ❤️❤️❤️
Summer roll and Pad Thai (tofu and shrimp) were excellent.
This is based on my order from November 9, 2021 (prior to owner change). I ordered their lunch special Pad Thai (with tofu). It came with a fresh salad with a delicious dressing! The Pad Thai was delicious and it was a generous portion considering it was for lunch! They arranged it so nicely in my takeout container too! I finished the whole thing and will definitely return again to try their other dishes.
Parking is in the back. And easy to access.
Local Thai food restaurant. Service was great, food was just ok. Might give them another try, not sure yet..
This unassuming place serves delicious food! My husband and I stopped at Pinto Thai after a long day skiing. Service was speedy and our assortment of dishes (seaweed salad, dumplings, veggie spring rolls, and drunken noodles) were all fresh and tasty. Highly recommend!
I am a regular Parton of this wonderful restaurant. I frequented it while under the old management and fell in love with their menu. After the transition to new management and onboarding of a new chef, they are even better than before.
I highly recommend the N4, Pong Karee noodle with chicken and a spice level of 3 if you like a pungent kick of curry and spice. Level 2 if you like some spice, and a 1 if you want a hint of spice but not too much.
They are friendly and polite. The food is cost effective and the portions are generous.
I highly recommend calling and placing an order or visit and dine in.
They are closed Monday’s but open every day after that.
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and I love making the chef smile by saying:
A-roy, mac mac!
(Very tasty!)
New chef is great. Food is much better.
This is the best Thai in Albany. This is the closest thing I’ve found to the Thai I used to get while living in NYC. I always get the pad see ew and it was perfect, the wide noodle and Chinese broccoli is what the other spots are missing. I have found my new go to spot. Highly recommend!
Coming home from vacation, through Albany, I found this delicious Thai restaurant. The shrimp fresh rolls were yummy, and you could taste the Thai basil! We also got a veggie fried rice, with some heat, and a pineapple curry, not too sweet. The service was great and the food was better! I’ll be back!
New owner. The yellow curry was tasty and had the right level of kick for my palate. I finished my bowl.
Love pinto Thai! My favorite place in the capital region for Thai food. Great portions and extremely friendly staff. They really took care of us and before ordering the mango sticky rice, she went out of her way to cut us a piece to see if it was too sour (it’s currently not mango season). That gesture was very kind. I recommend the yellow curry and drunken noodles!!
Pad kee mao (drunken) just fair X spicy was not too many noodles & meat barely any vegetables
I ordered a curry chicken dish and it was more like a curry chicken soup. Was very delicious but 80% of it was liquid.
I can’t believe people say that this is good Thai. Clearly they don’t know any better. Worse green curry I’ve ever had. It was a soupy curry with old chicken.
I just moved to the area from NYC. I have had a lot of thai food and this place is one of my favorites! I will definitely be coming back. Portions are generous!
Ordered drunken noodles and beef fried rice with spice level 1 and it was waaaay too spicy. Could not eat it. Very disappointed.
I used to go frequently, but after they switched management/cooks, it just went down in quality. What I ordered before is not at all the same. I got the pad thai and vegetable gyoza, the pad thai had a literal layer of bean sprouts and the noodles were mushy. It was super disappointing because this is one of the only Thai places in the area.
Best Thai I've had in upstate NY
What a disappointment!!! I was looking for a good noodle soup place and found Pinto Thai Kitchen. Unfortunately, the good reviews were from past management.
I was so dissatisfied with the beef noodle soup. They packed the noodles and the soup together in one container. By the time I bought it home which is 15 minutes away, the noodles sucked up most of the soup and the noodles broke into little pieces. It was not enjoyable. Every noodle place I ordered take out, they separate the noodles and the soup into 2 different containers. I will never order from Pinto Thai Kitchen ever again.
Delicious.
New ownership. They’ve slashed the old menu in half. This is not the Pinto you know and love…at all.
I love this place but this is the last time I will order from them. They messed up my order and refused to fix it. The lady on the phone apologized but said it wasn’t a big deal and wouldn’t fix it.
Edit: My friend came over and wanted to order from here and I said fine if he picks it up. The lady on the phone remembered me and told my friend she made sure my order was the way I wanted it. Their food is really good. Besides that one time I’ve never had a bad experience with them so I’m changing my review.
Just tried Pinto Thai Kitchen for the first time. Got kimchibokkumbop. And it was outstanding! Lived in S Korea for a decade and this was authentic Korean food. Portions are great and price is fair. Will go again and again.
Closed during posted hours, looked almost shut down or on pause.
They only do takeout, no dining in. At least for the moment. Our food was tasty and hot when picked up. It was our second visit and we will order again.
The best Thai and Korean food I’ve ever had. We ordered the spring rolls, pad Thai and Kimchi Bokkeumbap. Portions were large and very fairly priced. I cannot wait to go back!
The best Thai food that I've ever had. I order the spicy wings and shumai. Excellent!!!
Excellent food, friendly staff
I absolutely love this place, the food is excellent, service is great. Such a great hidden gem.
Highly recommend, great Thai food. Always an office favorite for lunch takeout.
Simply the best! Amazing food and excellent service! Would highly recommend!!!
Polite and courteous.
Ordered a lot of different foods. All tasted good. Each has different ingredients and flavors. Compare that to your usual take out place. No matter what your order, broccoli, a few tiny pieces of "Chinese" vegetables and that yucky brown goo sauce.
This places is way better.
The best Thai in Albany! Everything is delicious, authentic, and so reasonably priced. Their pad thai is especially good, and the lunch portion is more than enough to keep you full till dinner, especially with the side salad. Cannot recommend them enough!
Upon order-takers suggestion I ordered Key Lime Shrimp. So delicious! All the food, pad thai, springs rolls were excellent! And the staff is sweet too!
I cannot say enough about the food at Pinto. My wife and I have gotten two takeout orders from there, recently, and are hooked on their food. We have tried the Key Lime Shrimp which is surprisingly delicious, the Fried Calamari, very good also, but where we were really blown away was with the authenticity of their Thai dishes. I have had the Nam Khao Tod salad twice now - spicy and fresh flavors to die for. The Tom Yum Pla soup is clean tasting and complex with a balanced heat. They also serve the best beef Bul Go Gi that either of us has ever had. Both the radish and cabbage Kimchi are the best we have eaten (and we are never without kimchi in our fridge). Pairing all this with their gracious service, Pinto has become one of our favorite restaurants. Looking forward to taking a deeper dive into their menu in 2022. What a gem!
Wow... just wow! Didn't know what to expect from a Thai kitchen in Albany but this place just blew us away. Best meal of our vacation. It's not often that you can order Thai and Korean at the same restaurant and have both dishes come out incredibly flavorful and longing for more. We ordered the Pad Thai with chicken and the Je Yuk Bokkeum (Spicy Pork). Amazeballs! Thank you thank you.
Nice food. Ordering process is smooth and faster than normal. I recommend others to eat here.
The website says it's open we got there it was closed. People have to pay attention to their web presence.
Not cool wasting other people's time
Food was delicious and service was great. Made fast .
Spicy means spicy! Delicious food, good service. Would definitely recommend.
Pinto has become my go-to spot whenever I drive down for grocery runs nearby. Awesome Thai food! Lunch special is such a bargain!
Excellent Pad see ew takeout, will be back!
Extremely accommodating staff. The food was freshly prepared. The menu is diverse enough for the whole family, including vegan choices.
Excellent! Service is so polite, very clean restaurant, and food is so fresh and delicious!
best drunken noodle in the area.
Love this restaurant and so does my whole family. Pad Se Ew is my son's favorite meal. Not everything has been a hit but we have our favorites that we order on a regular. This is my favorite Thai restaurant in Albany so far! I say it competes with my favorites in other cities such as Chicago and Cleveland.
Drunken noodles are my favorite 😋
Fresh food good prices good portions we are always happy with them. We would definitely recommend Pinto. Keep up the great work! Thanks
Got a wonderful pad spicy basil lunch dish today with vegetables. So fresh and flavorful! It came with a lovely and crunchy side salad with creamy sesame dressing. All for less than $10. Definitely a great way to have a cheap, delicious lunch and also feel good about eating my vegetables.
Delicious and delightful Asian cuisine. Expect to be going back again and again. Try the roast duck and veggie fried rice. Very nicely done.
The Sweet and sour lacked sweet and sour. And any flavor.
One of my other meals was not supposed to contain animal products according to the menu description but did.
Was not impressed
Thank you, you guys are great you deserve it. I love your customer service please keep up the amazing work
Pinto Thai has the best food in Capital Region. My husband and I order from here every other week. We have never been disappointed and we always find new things to try on the menu. The portions are huge, the prices are very reasonable. Their menu has a huge variety, there's something for everyone. I have tried every Thai restaurant in the Albany area and this is hands down the best. Every time we eat here we talk about how amazing it is. The customer service is excellent. Thank you Pinto!! You are the best.
The BEST pad see ew I’ve been able to find! Such a great Thai place
This is fantastic Thai food and I've been to a bunch of Thai places all over the country. I was in town for the holidays and ordered here a bunch of times and got to try many different dishes. Everything tasted unique and even the basic pad thai or drunken noodles were really distinct. This will be my go to place in Albany from now on!
Excellent stir fry. Fresh, crunchy vegetables and chicken cooked perfectly!
Order takeout for lunch a few times per month. Food always fresh and tasty. Cashew nut pad is amazing!!
The best food ever. delicious.flavorful. I will keep buying your food. I hope you will get more customers and wish you will get over this difficult time.
Similar to the food I ate in Thailand and South Korea. We are lucky to have such a place in our neck of the woods. Please support this local business! You'll understand after you taste their drunken noodles.
Love the food!!
This place is great! I can walk here. Wonderful menu and always fresh. Even our grandbaby who dislikes a lot..will eat here. Definitely cant go wrong if you like Thai
I am so glad I made the last minute decision to order take out from Pinto Thai Kitchen. The food was delicious, particularly the salmon mango curry. Wait time was short and the employees were incredibly friendly. I can’t wait to go back!
Spice level 5 is VERY hot. Food is excellent.
This place is hands-down one of the best restaurants in the area. Not just Thai restaurants, any restaurant. The staff is courteous and pleasant. Everything is made hot and fresh.
Favorites:
Drunken Noodles
Pad See Ew
Pad Prik Khing
The kimchi is the best I've had anywhere
Please consider supporting them during this time with a takeout order!
I am looking forward to dining in when we are allowed to.
Very good food. Very good service. The Tom Yum soup and the duck salad are fantastic. I went here for lunch three days in a row after trying it for the first time. Love it.
Consistently excellent.
Also, this place is pretty close to Trader Joe's. I love Trader Joe's.
Best Thai food in the neighborhood
Decent Thai food in the area
Today me and my manager/buddy decided to try pinto Thai food and omg it was delicious and amazing. Definitely our new lunch spot. Very tasty and satisfying. I’ll recommend anyone looking for Thai food to come here, customer service was splendid.
One of the best Thai places I ever ate at. Had the red curry. Was amazing! Can not wait to come back!
What an amazing surprise! We were in the area and found this local hidden gem. The food was amazingly fresh. Absolute best spring roll appetizer! Great selection of currey. The salmon teriyaki was excellent.
The service was really special. Our waitress was the kindest person.
Ambiance is simple and quaint. Customers were happy and generous in the small dining room.
Loved it! Loved absolutely everything!
Excellent
So far the best Thai food I've had in Albany area
Really good food, decent portion sizes, and friendly workers.
Great food! Phenomenal tofu of the Pong Karee, and drunken noodles.
Excellent food and friendly / great service. Overall, love this place and couldn't be happier that my new office is down the street.
Delicious food. Excellent service. Will be back!!
The food and the presentation was just okay,
Very friendly staff and good customer service although I found the food to be bland and not what I think of for Thai food. I did not try the Korean food on the menu though so that may be the specialty here.
Fantastic! Always great food! We've been going to these owners for years! Highly recommend
My girlfriend and I went for the first time a couple of months ago and went back three weekends in a row. Absolutely delicious and the service is very friendly and attentive!
Had a lovely dinner. Loved the ambience and service.
Great Great food. You must try their cuisine!
Favorite Thai place in the area. We have eaten here multiple times and have never had a bad meal. On the contrary, I’ve had the best dumplings and drunken noodle I’ve ever had at pinto kitchen. Even though there are closer thai restaurants to us, we always drive to pinto. The staff is also super friendly. Highly recommend!
Crazy good food.
Delicious Thai place. I've ordered takeout a few times and I've been impressed every time. Seems like a nice place to eat in too. Would recommend
