He loves spicy food and ate the entire serving on the spot. I really liked my calamari, especially the crispy batter and overall texture. Great food and a nice spot for a casual meal!

I'm from Oxnard and have been trying to find a good Thai restaurant for awhile now, although I haven't found a good one in Oxnard this location is already my favorite in the area. We were originally going to by Mama but the wait line was ridiculous and there was no one to take our name down so we came to this one that wasn't busy. Pad Thai was great but the drunken noodles, they were beyond DELICIOUS! The orange chicken was also very good, not the biggest portion though. We also had the fried banana with coconut ice cream and it was divine. Sure, they weren't super attentive in regards to the service but honestly, I liked it better that way, I don't like having people asking me if everything's okay every 5 minutes. Will definitely be coming here again!

SO glad we found this place. Literally all of the food was incredibly delicious, and with the Yelp check-in discount, surprisingly affordable. Highly recommend trying this place, and the spicy green bean chicken while you're at it.

Not a place I would visit again. The seafood tom yum soup had just mushrooms and very few pieces of seafood(2 prawns, 5 squid rings and 1 mussel for 18-20$ per bowl). They filled the bowl will just mushrooms and served. Forgot our green curry chicken order and then when we asked again, we were served with a yellow curry that was not green curry chicken at all! Definitely not authentic thai food!

Great food, great server. Atmosphere was okay because a server at the neighboring restaurant was complaining about other servers and F bombing every other word for at least an hour. Other than that, sitting on the porch area was relaxing. I highly recommend ordering the Pad Thai dish and the Special Yellow Curry bowl.

Some of the best Thai food in Ventura. It is genuinelly difficult to choose something you would not like from their menu. Everything is so delicious.

My go to is Massaman curry with red rice. It hits the spot everytime.

Not sure what's happened but the service and wait time has become terrible. The last 4 times we've waited over an hour to receive our food, we're not coming at peak times. The wait staff seems overwhelmed and often ignores you, almost as if not making eye contact or by quickly walking by they can pretend you're not there. The food has always been 5 star, no doubt, except this visit. I'm now seeing the food quality slip, the food is why we kept coming back despite the weak service and long wait times. I'm sorry to say that I probably won't be going back. Such a pity to see this happening to one of my favorite spots.

This is wonderfully authentic Thai food. We had the avocado curry and Pud Ka Pao. Both meals were good portions and service can’t be beat. We also appreciate the reasonable pricing. Go for it!

I use to eat here, but won’t anymore. I’m tired of their attitude toward delivery drivers. They do our orders last and make us wait a long time to get our food. This is like the 10th time I’ve Had to wait half an hour for a simple curry and they weren’t even busy.

The customer already paid and is waiting just like any other person. Make the food in order at least, you’re costing drivers money when you make our food last and making our/your customers wait longer.

It is incredibly unprofessional and rude to us drivers who are on your team. By making us drivers wait longer you are actually costing us money.

And I know they don’t care about any of this, so that is why I won’t be eating here again and will be recommending to others not to too.

Seriously why you treat drivers like this? We kept you guys going during the pandemic, shame.

Highly recommended - Try the special Curries, you may not find it anywhere else. May have to order the rice separately. Regular curries are good too. You can find a fresh Coconut water here.

Great flavors in all their food and always good service. Lately, for me, their quality is lacking a little. The curry has been very watery, like soup. I'd prefer to wait a little longer for my food and enjoy it creamy the way they used to serve it. Nevertheless, flavors are on point.

After going in to check out there menu menu venue to see if we would like lunch or perhaps dinner here, I asked to use the bathroom whilst my wife checked out the menu. After I came back and asked her what she thought of it and if anything on the menu looks good, she told me she'd like to eat here later for dinner, that was until a woman working there started verily abusing us and twlling us she spends 1000 9n water and her bathroom is only for customers and we're liars, I calmly told her we have friends joining us kater for dinner here and we wanted to perhaps have lunch here also, after her trying to barracde the door so we couldn't leave still verbally abusing us! I told her her we definitely won't be coming for this service and after living many years in Thailand would never expect to be spoken to or treated like this in a Thai restaurant. I wouldn't even give this place a chance after being completely verbally abused by the woman who works there. It was her staff member that said I could use the bathroom while we made a decision,so I am completely appalled and shocked that this is the way they treat customers.
They made my wife feel extremely uncomfortable whilst she was deciding on what she would order later that evening that there is no way we are bringing 6 more people with us here tonight. SHAME ON THIS BUSINESS. They have the worst etiquette and if they don't want people using the bathroom then they shouldn't have told me I could use it. Felt very setup and like this woman just wanted to scream at someone. After working in the hospitality Industry for many years I can surely say this was the most unnecessary and rude treatment I've ever encountered. Ridiculous

I always get the Thai ice tea and a noodle dish I can't remember the name of but they have pics for most of the menu items which makes ordering pretty easy. There isn't a bad dish on the menu anyway.

The crispy pepper chicken was ok but not as we expected. We were expecting a spicy and dry dish but it turned out to be sweet and saucy. But will not take away any stars for that as the food was good.

Best Thai food

First time ordering from this local Thai place and experienced the worst customer service. I placed an order online with a pickup time an hour from my order placement. I showed up at the restaurant to pick up my order at the scheduled time and was told it would be "a minute." Almost 20 minutes later, they send me off with my order. Except that it wasn't my order. One of the staff, a young guy, came after me to exclaim they had given me someone else's order. When I expressed my frustration at this clear lack of service, he said "well if you don't like it, you can order from somewhere else." He then mentioned something about prep time. How do you need an hour+ of prep time? This wasn't a walk up order. If your restaurant gets busy and you can't meet the deadlines then alert your client. I would have gladly waited at home vs waiting there. What's the point of having an app to order online if this is how they're going to use it?

I had to wait another 5-7 minutes before they finally brought me the correct order and all he said was "have a good night." I even tip on takeout orders these days bc of Covid, and this was the worst. Larb was pretty bland. It tasted like stir fry with very little flavor -- if you've ever had good larb, you know it's super flavorful. Soup was ok. Would have been better off just making it at home. The lack of decent Thai food in Ventura is disappointing.

I don't leave review. It's just not me. But after having dinner at Rice I had to leave a glowing review. It was three of us and we ordered 2 appetizers: Roti and the Fresh roll and 2 dishes: Green Curry and drunken noodles both with seafood. Mama came to our table several times through the meal with this bright smile. It's true that Thai people are some of the most smiley and friendly people in the world. I told her that her food was some of the best Thai I have had in my life and I've been to Thailand! It's true too. The proteins were well cooked, the sauce was delicious, the noodles and rice were cooked perfectly. The roti (originally an Indian food but adopted by Thai) stole the show. It's like a puff pastry with a curry sauce on the side. We ended up getting a second order. Between the service, decor, and food we had a great dinner. When I visit Ventura I will make an effort to come here again.

I drive 60 miles to eat here. Been eating here for a few years. Simply the best!

The pumpkin curry is to die for! I dont want kids but I would carry a child to full term and birth it just so I could feed it to the curry gods in thanks of making such a great dish. Highly recommend, cant wait to come back

Been going for 3 to 4 years. Never been disappointed with food or service. I like it better than Rice by Mama few doors down because this place is much less crowded. So faster/better service. And food is just as good if not better.

I dont recommend it. Not up to par. Pad Thai much too sweet (?) And not one veggie to be found. I like Charn's in Camarillo much better. As we left the restaurant and walked a couple of doors down, we spied "Rice by Mama". People hanging out the door waiting to get in. I'll try that one next time.

We continue to be amazed at how delicious the food is here - the very best - as well as how welcoming! Wattanarat ("Dee") is as caring, charming, and accommodating a host as one could hope for. There is a wonderful variety of dishes, with almost everything made in house, many things modified to order. If I had my way, we would return at least once a week, some times for lunch, other times for dinner. We have visited as a couple as well as part of a large family group, now going on three years! Everyone has always been more than satisfied with the food and the service. My recommendation for this restaurant is the strongest possible!

This place has horrible service. The waitress didn't even make eyecontact with us when we ordered it took 30 minutes if not longer unless we spoke up, she took two orders of people who we came before. Horrible service go to rice by mama. Twice as good better service.

This place you'd think would be very similar to the other Rice but its not. The service is terrible. I went here for lunch and it took 50 minutes to get our food and then it was not what we ordered. To top it all off they weren't accepting debit or credit so they made everyone go out and get cash. There's so many awesome options for Thai on Main st including Rice by Mama but this is not one of them.

Don't go to the other rice. The one by momma. This is the original and is authentic. Definitely better. I've had both. The drunken noodles are amazing. So is the soup. I'm not a big fan of the coconut soup tho. Definitely my favorite Thai food spot.
