Thai & Malaysian cuisine, with some spicy options, served in a lush red & yellow space.
This was my very first time coming to this restaurant. What first caught my attention was the smell of the food aroma outside. The service was fast and the food was amazing. I had the calamari for an appetizer that came alongside with a spicy and sweet sauce and it was fantastic. For my entree, I ordered the Pad See U with chicken with mild spice level and it was very tasty. The portion size was a great size. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant.
I came to Atlanta to interpret for church service. Some friends and I went to this location for lunch after church, and LeeJinSu was our server. She was very friendly and engaging. One of my friends had the satay chicken skewers and the basil spring rolls, and she also had the tempura ice cream, which is kinda like a fried ice cream. She stated it was all delicious. Another friend had the pineapple fried rice and thai ice tea, and I had the ginger special with chicken and shrimp. It was amazing. The entreee portions are very huge, so unless you are just greedy and dying of hunger, you will be taking some home for a full meal later. Top Spice is always a favorite of mine, so yes, I will be back!.
The taste was good. The waiter explained they could make any where from 1-5 spice. I ask for a 3, I would say to me it was a 1. About same as putting dry pepper on your pizza. It was a 90% vegetable and I ask for chicken. Served with white rice. No leftover. These are one person dishes, and not if really hungery. On the pricy side, the vegetable dish start at $15.
With such few dependable Thai spots in my area, Top Spice is aptly named since it's one of my top choices for dining in and takeout/delivery, especially their flat noodle dishes. The pad see ew is always well seasoned, and the spicy flat noodle tofu dish is a beautiful rendition with the slightest kick.
I've come to know my favorites from the menu, but that wasn't without encountering a few misses along the way. A delivery order of beef rendang had a delicious curry sauce coating some of the toughest pieces of beef. Another tofu pad thai was overly sauced and salty, rendering it nearly inedible. My husband and I almost never send food back to the kitchen, but we made an exception that time.
Inside, the restaurant is more muted and serene than it looks from the outside. Service has always been polite and attentive when I've gone, though I've noticed how busy things can get around the busy mealtime hours when they're handling both takeout orders and customers dining in.
Worst experience! We have been coming to this location for years and today will be the last. We ordered a vegetable tofu fried rice and a pad see u chicken as always. When we got home we found the veggie tofu fried rice had absolutely no veggies. When we called back, the gentleman refused to listen and said that we didn’t order it with veggies just tofu. Again, we have been coming here for years and order the same exact thing every time. He argued with us and told us to bring it back. We live 20 min away so we can’t bring it back at 9:15pm. Then he says to bring it back the next day… so you’re telling me not to eat dinner today and instead bring it back tomorrow?? Worst experience ever and will never be going back.
I absolutely LOVE Top Spice! Everyone there is always so friendly and upbeat. The veggie fried rice is consistently cooked to perfection every single time I order it—and I order it often! It's my go-to spot for both lunch and dinner. Give it a try; you won’t be disappointed!
Awesome meal. Tasty, hot but not too hot.
Great service.
The food here is absolutely delicious and there always consistent.

I've been coming here for years!!! The food is delicious and the people are so nice
Excellent food and fantastic service. Highly recommend.
Top Spice gave me the best green curry I've ever had.
good food, very rude staff
Once someone served me, it was actually really good. Everyone has a off night, I suppose.
Great food and service.

Restaurante bonito, acogedor y ambiente agradable. Precio razonable.
Nice and quiet, food was good and spicey.
Extremely clean. Very calming and cozy. Pad Thai was delicious - my girlfriend is an expert in Pad Thai so she would know. Not expensive.
For lunch I ordered Pad See U with no meat (to go) as I always do. $11.95 according to the menu. I ordered two. My bill was $33.81.
I asked the guy why it was so much. He didn’t understand my question but said “yeah, lunch portion, Pad See U no shrimp”……… HUH??? Who said anything about shrimp??? Then I asked the lady taking my payment why it was so high. She said it was the dinner portion. Even still, Pad See U with no meat doesn’t cost that much. I’ve been coming here for 10 years now because it’s right by my job. Two weeks ago the same order was $25.83. I guess they’re charging veterans extra because it’s Veteran’s Day. Never again.
They have the best lunchtime specials
Food was really good, Service was fast. Authentic foood
Wow! Both the food and service were spectacular 👌
Top Spice is still one of the best local Thai restaurants around. Been this way for years. Comfortable and slightly elevated environments, friendly and attentive service and a wide, but not too wide, menu of very freshly prepared food to select from. If you're in the mood for Thai cuisine this is a great place to try.
Fruit flies buzzing around your food is never a good look.
The food was okay, however, the atmosphere was so weird. It seemed to be that therewas an argument going on between a manager and a hostess, I believe, and it took place around the bar. It seemed like the manager was reprimanding her over political beliefs, and it sounded like the manager was pushing his political ideologies on to her.
It was so sad to listen and look at. What made it sadder was that the rest of the workers didn't seem to support the situation at all, and they weren't trying to help or de-escalate the one sided argument that was going on, and it probably made the rest of the customers feel uncomfortable as well because I felt uncomfortable. Which is why I wouldn't recommend going to this Top Spice location, because I wouldn't want to be judged on based on my political beliefs or anything else. I just want my food :/.
I usually go to the one in Toco Hills, my daughter and I went to the cumberland one and they were so nice!
First time here and it was a 10/10 good customer service, food was hot, the food came out pretty quickly.
Told them we had a seafood allergy at the table and the rice came out with shrimp shell in it lol. They didn’t make accommodations for the accident which was disappointing however they did apologize.
Best Thai in Atlanta!!
Good food. Fast lunch service.
Amazing food and service. Waiter named David is the best waiter in the world. So kind and always knows what we need. I have been coming here for 17 years and the food is always amazing and so with the service.
The food is always good
Horrible customer service
Very good food. I had the pineapple fried rice. Nice atmosphere.
I was not busy at the time service was prompt and friendly
I placed an order in error and called immediately because it was done in error and they refused to refund it lying saying it was ready. I asked how is it ready in 2 minutes????? I will be disputing this with my bank and my money back so be greedy over $12…DO NOT EAT here!!!!
Nice place. Great food! Friendly service. A+

Delicious food and personable servers and staff.
Super unprofessional!! Never made my food that i ordered through uber eats, tried calling the restaurant to talk to the manager and he wouldn’t come by the phone and sent my uber driver away without giving her the food.
I used to come here all the time and decided to revisit after some years.... and it has gone DOWN bad. I came here for lunch and I had a male waiter who hardly acknowledged me and the food was horrible. I initially had the pad thai and it had a juice consistency instead of more of a paste like I'm used to seeing. I tasted it anyway and it was super bland, so I sent it back. The waiter just looked at me and took my plate like he had an attitude. I ordered massaman chicken instead and when it came out, it was super bland too..... almost as if they water down the food to cut corners or something. It was a super waste of money and I will not be coming back.
I had lunch with my mother on July 7, 2024 around 2 pm and the place was relatively empty. Mother had the white curry (peanut or cashew cream based) and I had the red curry (vegetable based). I tell you this because if there is a nut allergy that needs to be avoided, this is not your place to eat. Both dishes were excellent. My dish was a bit heavy on the anise. I'm not a fan of liquorish flavors. Mother's white curry chicken was very good. I'll have that next time. The wait staff was prompt and helpful. The atmosphere was quiet at 2 pm. Great place to grab some Thai food!
Food is good, but music is terrible If you dine in and and their kitchen closes at 9:15 be warned!
The service was Greta but unfortunately the food was bland and didn’t have much flavor.
Delicious food, the coconut soup is absolutely amazing!
Food is just OK. I prefer the Atlanta location. The menu options simply taste better.
Went in at 915 pm and their hours say Open til 1000pm. Turned away. Very disappointing.
Very good Thai food. I was impressed!
My go-to if i am craving South East Asian food. Owners have maintained the place, nice and clean, great food quality and taste. Very prompt service. Never disappoints.
I used to eat at the toco hills location (when I worked in that area), so when I found out they were at Akers mill I knew where to find my basil beef with no basil lol. I don't like basil, but I love Thai food, so it's really hard for me to find dishes I like at most places but Top Spice catered to my weird request and I am grateful for that!
My family and I visited the Akers Mill location in Smyrna. The service was on point (very polite and friendly; attentive, yet not invasive). Everyone in our large group enjoyed their entrée. Not only was it tasty, but the portion sizes were large. They were presented in nice large black ceramic bowls. I had the Masaman Curry Tofu. It was delicious! I appreciate how the restaurant will adjust your dish to your level of spice preference (no spice, mild, or medium).
I hope this helps! My husband and I have visited this restaurant several times pre-Pandemic and the food is still just as I remember. The food and service made it worth the visit!
Atmosphere? GOOD!, The service is very good. Although the restaurant was somewhat crowded, the waitresses were attentive and friendly. Their English proficiency is comparable to that of Americans and their food is excellent. This place deserves my high recommendation!!! Forget about all the bad reviews. Will forever be a loyal customer of this restaurant!!!😍😍 try it.
The pad Thai had too much sauce and was bland.
Broccoli, mushroom, Shrimp rice was excellent. You tip suggestion should be on the subtotal not the total.
Just okay food, service okay.
Super basic food, low flavor nothing really special or professional about it. I felt like I was eating at home and I cooked it myself. Also mosquitoes were biting my legs the whole time, makes you question the kitchen, waitress very unattentive, was looking for and she was just at a table texting on her phone, there are better options nearby.
Food was good til I pulled a long hair out of my meal. They apologized and offered to give me another meal but I was grossed out and good. Hate that happened. I really did like this place
The Mango curry was fantastic.
Love this place. I always order the salmon curry. Absolutely delicious
Ordered food from here. they did not put any veggies and eggs in my order. taste bad. i called them and they lied on my face that they did not recieved any order from me. Once they found out why i am calling they were very very rude to me and said why r u calling after an hour? and what do you want? first of all you are lying that i did not order and second you are rude. i will never order from here. will never go to any other locations, will not suggest either. Also please learn some basic english
I always like this location, however for quite sometime I met with servers who are always in hurry and want you quickly out of the restaurant. One server was in such a hurry that they brought the check even before we could finish our meal half way, we wanted to try deserts and when we asked about this rudeness they mockingly asked in my native English accent “sir, would you like to have some desert”? Thankful I did not see that server this time.
I need you to have salt packets to go (indulge me). Soy sauce adds another dimension that I didn't want.
Nice ambiance. Food was good. Portion size was reasonable
I have been coming here for years to get food to go. The last two times the food was totally different. The curry samosa appitizer was sub par, different formulation and just not good. I typically get masaman curry. Tonight it was soooo runny, and zero avocado. I also ordered the green curry, again sooo runny like the sauce was diluted. The flavor was also diluted and lacking. I’m done, will never be back.
This place was SO good! My dad and I met here for dinner. We had two of the appetizers, our entrees, and dessert. Every bit of food was delicious. The service was excellent as well. We tried the samosas, martabak, spicy veggie with chicken, mixed veggie with chicken, and the sticky rice with mango. Highly recommend!
The Malaysian was not good
THE WORST THAI FOOD EVER!!!! It’s Americanized and not authentic at all! It use to be back in the day but idk what happened. I use to order food from here often, and I was satisfied with this ordinary Thai food when I’m at work, on Friday march 22nd, I ordered delivery and i understand sometimes delivery lessens the foods taste. I don’t ever usually complain if it’s edible but I was working that day and me and my colleague were hungry, but we spent almost $100 for 4 items and the dishes we ordered were absolutely disgusting. I ordered the lad-na chicken, it tasted like ketchup and the color of the food was off, the noodles were clumped together and the sauce on one side of the bowl, the Thai spring rolls were disgusting, tasted like they were fried in OLD oil and came with unauthentic fake sweet and sour sauce when they promoted a sweet chili sauce, the spicy flat noodles was sweet and not at all spicy, it wasn’t even mild. Each vegetable inside this dish had a different taste as if it were prepared separately with different seasonings, And the roti murtabak was mid. Very mid. Way too oily but it was the only thing that was edible. I called and complained looking for a refund, but the manager wasn’t in and I had left my number with the hostess because she told me the manager would give me a call back. It’s now MONDAY March 22nd and he has yet to call. I called again recently and was told the manager was out. But since I told them I would personally go up to the restaurant myself, he is supposedly on a break will call back at 6pm today. I am waiting for 6pm.
Update. I called back because the manager didn’t want to call me. He was very rude and unprofessional. He did not want to help and said that he didn’t call back because he didn’t want to waste his time and it’s not his fault that I did not like the food. He told me to stop calling and he refuses to give my money back. Then he would not let me talk and then just hung up the phone
Always great from the service to the food!
We had a wonderful meal today. David was very attentive and made great suggestions.
The Pad See U and the Fresh Ginger Special with chicken were delicious!!
Food was amazing, the ambiance felt cozy and warm however the service was slow and we had to ask a few times to get everything we had ordered. But overall everyone was very nice. I highly recommend the beef pancakes as appetizers, the pad see u as an entrée and peanut crepe as dessert.
Great Thai food
This food was absolutely DISGUSTING ! The egg rolls were freezing cold and the shrimp rolls might as well have been frozen ! It’s so gross guys ! Don’t order here ! The Thai salad with peanut sauce should’ve also been FROZEN. The peanut sauce was completely lumped together but was warm ! It was warm as if it had been warmed and then added into a TOXIC PLASTIC CUP WITH A TOP ! Omg and tofu was in it as well . I’ll never eat here again let alone order from Uber eats . Don’t care it if was the last restaurant on the planet ! Save your money and your taste buds . Excuse while I go vomit up what I attempted to eat on the first nibble of undercooked food .
Eating dinner tonight and order a dish Spicy Tofu with a basil sauce that was supposed to be fried tofu with a basil sauce. I asked the waiter if there was a mistake with my order because I did not taste any basil in the sauce nor did I see any basil. The waiter argued with me for over 20 minutes due to me asking if I could have either some basil added to my dish or make some more sauce adding the basil. He blatantly refused to make my dish better and told me nothing could or would be corrected. I asked him was he the cook and he said no. I finally told him that I was not going to continue to argue with him…. And he walked away. 15 minutes later the waiter walks over to my table with a little saucer with basil on it. The service was horrible non attentive… springs rolls were cold but my sister and I noticed how other guests were being served on time and with the promptness! Need I say more as I can say it was not many African Americans guests in the restaurant tonight.
With such few dependable Thai spots in my area, Top Spice is aptly named since it's one of my top choices for dining in and takeout/delivery, especially their flat noodle dishes. We have had Family dinners here 5 times.
The food is prepared well and has good flavor.
The servers are attentive and listen to your requests when you order the food.
I recommend trying lunch or dinner here.
You will enjoy your meal.
The best Thai food in this area of Cumberland mall
My parents and I came here today and it was such a great experience. The customer service was great and the food was so good. Glad that my Dad recommended this place. I definitely recommend this place to everyone and you won't be disappointed. We will be back for sure when we drive through Atlanta .
Food is good! 👍🏿
Fresh
Food bland shrimp totally overcooked
Great food spot!
My go to local takeout place for Thai and Malaysian food. Great curry and sea food noodles.
Great place. Great food. Not bad price.
I have eaten Pad Thai to go a few times from this restaurant. The food is good. They really give you a huge portion of Pad Thai which is great. They are able to modify and offer a vegetarian Pad Thai. It is definitely enough to eat twice. The staff at the restaurant has always been abundantly nice whenever I have come to eat. The carry out orders have always been completed in time. I have always had a pleasant experience at this restaurant.
I love this place
Good food, chill ambiance, very nice for a date or lunch during lunch break.
While the ambiance was amazing, our table was barely served and we had to call the waiter for simple things like water, napkins, cutlery and so on. Also, the whole some of the food was amazing, the pad Thai was really bland and was just noddles as compared to what is advertised. I would highly recommend the Malay food though!
Best Pad Thai I've had in years. Will definitely be back.
Love it here. Very affordable. I take everyone there and they always find something awesome. Roti canai is a fav. Pad see u bomb ! I’ll take pics next time !
Got my order wrong. I finally got the Pad Thai, which was way too sweet!! The red curry was just okay. there was too much basil in it!! The waitress was super nice tho & the restaurant is nice.
First time and last. For one the food is overpriced for the amount that is served. Not to mention everything was greasy and tasted extremely bland. It was a big upset for something that’s supposed to be cultural dining.
I got a basil chicken stir fry to go. Horrible. Absolutely no taste. I’ve visited Thailand and often make my own Thai dishes; I know good Thai food and this meal wasn’t even average. It looked good but had no spices and the sauce was too red and there was too much of it. I’ll stick to my go-to Thai places when I don’t make my own.
Always love this place
Pretty good experience. No major complaints.
How this place isn't rated higher than it is, I don't understand. I guess this might directly tie to notable differences in locations, menus, dish selected, or day of week as much as experiences with this cuisine. Here's the short recap of my experience at the Akers Mill location: I came, I saw, I ate, and enjoyed - even the leftovers eaten cold the next day. I will be back. Now for more detail.
Impressions:
Decor and ambiance -
Aside from the fabric design choice for the backs of the booths, I loved the decor, from the entry doors and the design all through the place. And it smelled fantastic in the foyer.
It was a Monday evening so it was fairly quiet though not completely dead as far as diners present. (There was a steady flow of take-out/food delivery.) The ambuent music choice was interesting. It was all piano music, sounding like it came from the same or similar artist. But it was a mix of movie theme songs, the Disney theme song, some soft popular music, and hymns/classic Christian music standards. 🤔😅
The customer service was great and the presentation of the food was impeccable. The flavor did not disappoint, fully living up to the visual hype. The dish I had was the Buah Mango Tofu dish from the vegetarian side of the menu. This consists of tofu and mango spears sauteed with sliced bell peppers in a mildly spicy sweet and sour sauce set on a bed of a type of rice noodle and a halved mango.
It was different, I have never eaten Malaysian food until now!! The flavors are very good!! I would eat there again!!!
Food was awesome!
Very poor customer service
Decent place for thai food cravings.
Quality is always a concern when eating here. Found plastic in food once.
Thai tea is way too sweet. Pad thai is not made consistent. Service is slow. Atmosphere is gloomy.
Chicken skewers are good.
A bit expensive, but great food and great atmosphere!
A hidden gem, in all ways. Authentic food, consistently prepared and served. Comfortable quiet space. Beautiful and caring staff. GO!
Great Flavors, my favorite Thai place. Ive tried a lot of the menu.
Dishes I love:
The shrimp dumplings
Kasturi chicken
Pad See Ew Beef
Ok one of the best Seafood soups I have EVER eaten. All quality ingredients I can still remember the flavor 2 days later. Let's all make this known
The food and service were very good. I enjoyed listening to the classical music in the restaurant. It was super peaceful.
Most delicious Malaysian and Thai food! Friendly and quick service.
Such amazing service every time we go ! We are now obsessed ! I have two noisy little ones and they are always so kind to them and super quick to bring out the food ! My favorite place for Uber eats as well !
Really cool place. The Malaysian dishes are phenomenal. Just get ready for the heat.
They definitely spice it very appropriately for what it is!!!
The pad see U is great!
EXCELLENT! I celebrated my birthday there. Appetizers, soup and entree were phenomenal and bursting with flavors. :-)
This is my new favorite place to have lunch! I've only had one dish - shrimp fried rice - and couldn't stop thinking about it. So, I went back and had takeout! Top Spice did NOT disappoint. It was delicious and satisfying. I will probably be back tomorrow.
I RARELY, maybe never, give a restaurant 5's across the board, but Top Spice Thai has earned them all over the years.
The food is delicious. The portions are huge. The service makes you feel welcomed and appreciated. The price makes sense.
Trying to decide where to eat? Eat here.
Got visiting guests to Atlanta? Eat here.
Want to impress clients? Eat here.
Just feeling greedy? Eat here.
Eat here? Eat here!
Eclectic menu with some very nice dishes. Good spot for a date and as a bonus, very reasonably priced
Upon eating lunch with my friend there were several red flags upon our experience. When we seat down we were immediately given water that looked like it had been out not freshly prepared the water had ice that seemed to be melting already, secondly while finishing up my entree I ordered white rice and the ginger chicken. After I ate most of my food I noticed black specks in my rice, I added soy sauce to my rice in the beginning but thought it was strange that the specks were black so I picked out the specks from the little rice I had left and put it on the white napkin provided sure enough it was a bug(maybe a net which was humongous) but the sad part is I picked out 3 of these bugs from my small portion of rice left. This was absolutely disgusting I immediately ask for the waiter and her response was it’s the summertime. I asked for the manger only to find out there is no manger. I actually did not take any pictures which I hate but please be aware of the cleanliness and preparation of food for this restaurant. I truly had a horrible experience not to comment on the employees attitude and unprofessional careless response.
We go often during lunch and the food is great. Service is fast! The coconut soup in unreal!
GROSS! THE FOOD CONTAINS ONLY SUGAR! ABSOLUTELY NO SPICE.. I sent my food back they still charged me. Disgusting food.
Please read the 4 stars reviews they have mentioned the food is bad. I am not sure why they gave 4 star.
Got a lemon leaf throne in my red curry about inch long which poked my pallet but staff just gave me a lesson on what it was instead of apology, I lost my appetite after that 😔😔. Recommending not to order curry with lot of vegetables.
Ate here on a few occasions. The appetizer menu is delicious, especially the Martabak. I always get multiple orders of this. Great fusion with the Thai and Malaysian. Skip the Tom kha however, it's underwhelming. Great service and short wait times for food! Definitely worth a visit!
We really enjoy this place.
The atmosphere is nice and the severs are good but after Covid the service has gone down. The food is really good I love the Mango Sticky Rice
We definitely recommend this place!
Didn’t get a chance to try the food because I sat at the table for 30 mins before anyone said anything to us don’t come to this establishment to dine in. I also notice walking by people food it look horrible.
The food was good but the waitress was coughing and I am more than a 100% sure I got sick from dining at this establishment. Please be mindful not to serve customers food and drink if your staff are sick. I am very upset.
I called to complain and she's still working. Denies that she's sick even though she coughed all over the table and apologized when she did cough.
I just had an incredibly disappointing experience with Top Spice, and I feel compelled to share my dissatisfaction with their abysmal customer service. From the dry, flavorless pork to the complete lack of effort in rectifying their mistake, it was an evening of frustration and disappointment.
Firstly, the pork dish I ordered was beyond disappointing. It was so dry and tasteless that I could hardly distinguish it from chicken. The lack of flavor was truly disheartening, leaving me questioning the quality of their ingredients and the competence of their kitchen staff.
Hoping to find a solution and some form of compensation for the unpleasant food take-out experience, I decided to reach out to Top Spice via phone. Unfortunately, my interaction with their representative only added to my frustration. The person on the phone displayed zero willingness to go out of their way to make up for the error. Their dismissive attitude and lack of empathy were deeply off-putting.
What bothered me even more was the fact that there was not even an attempt made to help fix the issue this very night. I understand that mistakes happen, but a reputable establishment should be proactive in finding a resolution to ensure customer satisfaction. It was disheartening to encounter such indifference and a complete lack of effort on their part.
As a customer, I believe that it is not only fair but essential for businesses to take responsibility for their mistakes and make sincere efforts to rectify them. Sadly, Top Spice failed miserably in this regard. Their customer service left a sour taste in my mouth, overshadowing any redeeming qualities they may have had.
I highly discourage anyone from dining at Top Spice, especially if you value good customer service and quality food. The dry and tasteless pork coupled with the lack of effort to address the issue has left me deeply disappointed. There are plenty of other establishments in the area that offer better food and genuinely care about their customers' satisfaction.
In conclusion, Top Spice's poor customer service and the lack of effort to rectify their mistakes make it a place I cannot recommend. Save yourself the disappointment and frustration by choosing an alternative dining option that values its customers' experiences and strives for excellence.
I am soooooo impressed with their pad Thai and how they actually incorporated the spice level. The drunken noodles were very good as well. Service was excellent. Keep up the great food. Thank you 🙏🏼
One of our favorite spots north of Atlanta. Love the curries.
Great Thai and Malaysian offerings in the Cumberland/Galleria area. They have weekday lunch specials that include soup with the meal.
A great Thai restaurant with a nice vibe on the inside. Roti Cani was an amazing appetizer. Soft, delicious, flavorful roti with a tasty sauce. Pad see U was my entree and it was sweet and flavorful. Pineapple fried rice might be the best dish I’ve ever had. The raisins and curry powder elevate the dish to a fusion masterpiece. Finally, the mango sticky rice for desert put the Cherry on top for an amazing dinner. Would recommend if you’re in the mood for Thai
