It’s been a hot minute since I’ve been to Thai House Express. I’ve missed going there so we decided to have a quick dinner. I ordered chicken curry and boy was their serving hefty! Even the rice was a huge bowl and I truly appreciated it. It’s fresh, medium spicy just like I ordered it. My good friend had noodle soup which he was equally happy to have. Really attentive service which which means 4/5 stars! I’m glad they’re still thriving.

Diner Review №5

Everything was tasty but wayyy tooo spicy at Medium!
I'll recommend the garden rolls, panang curry and pad thai.

Ordered thru Uber eats. This was by far the best Thia food I've ever had. Egg rolls- best, Tom-ka fnawesome

Diner Review №9

I ordered chicken panang curry and jasmine rice and Thai iced tea. Using Door Dash there is no way to make special requests especially in regards to heat of food. Your manager or restaurant owner needs to fix this on Door Dash app particularly. Also there were different prices for each app, from Uber Eats, GrubHub and Door Dash. 🤔. Whoever filled the order for me did NOT include silverware 🍴 🥄 napkins nor chopsticks as requested so it is difficult to eat curry and rice at work without silverware!!!

I am extremely dissatisfied using Door Dash and this restaurant in particular and also with the the fact that none of my requests such as basic silverware and napkins AND wanting MILD instead of Extra spicy panang curry. Whoever packaged my food did not follow any of the order notes and I was unable to eat the curry without a spoon or rice without a spoon or chopsticks. Can you please contact me here as I would love to give your restaurant another chance to redeem yourself. The prices were the only reason I ordered with door dash. Last time I use them. Normally I use Uber Eats.

Diner Review №10

Good food, fresh and prepared with fresh ingredients. Took the green curry with chicken - I'd suggest to reduce the bamboo shoots inside this dish, that's the only thing I found too excessive in a green curry dish.

Diner Review №14

Delicious Thai food and great service. I thoroughly enjoyed the pineapple fried rice.

Diner Review №15

Great Thai restaurant and super fast service. Was so kind enough to change the food based on feedback and was so receptive.

Diner Review №16

Diner Review №17

Best to go for the lunch special, otherwise a bit pricey.

Diner Review №18

Diner Review №19

Really good service and good food

Diner Review №20

Serene, delicious and friendly. Beer came with ice cold glass and that’s how you know they like their customer. Thank you!

Diner Review №21

The food used to be good but not anymore.

Diner Review №22

Best Thai food in the city and the undisputed king of Thai style beef jerky! Great family friendly environment with super convenient take-out window during busy times. 1000/100

Diner Review №23

thai beef jerky is a must! we usually order the crispy tofu or money bags as well for appetizers. for mains, i recommend the salmon wrapped in banana leaves, crab pad thai, gra pow, and some steamed rice or thai house fried rice. The panang curry is my favorite curry here and don't skip on the mango sticky rice for dessert either!

i like the atmosphere at thai house better than other thai places in SF, it's more of a family feel when dining there for me. very comfortable inside, nice sunlight in the afternoons during lunch.

Diner Review №24

I love the food and staff! They call me Mr. Money Bags because I have to order it every time I dine there. Neighborhood staple that holds a special place in my 7x7 heart. Thank you Thai House! 🙏🏽

Diner Review №25

Best Thai restaurant in the city! Been coming here since the 90’s!

Diner Review №26

Love this place - Always a great meal!

Diner Review №27

Our go-to Thai restaurant in the city, whether we want take-out or quick friendly service. Everything is super flavorful and portions are generous. Love their crab pad thai and green curry. Lots of vegetarian options as well (their string beans are soooo yums). We’ve also done catering a few times and it’s always a hit!

Diner Review №28

Beef jerky, pad Thai, money bags.. you can't go wrong here. Shout out to the owner Por-Phol for delivering the best Thai food in SF for 20+ years!

Diner Review №29

Best Thai food in S.F.

Pad Thai, money bags and yellow chicken curry are my favorites.

Diner Review №30

DO NOT GO HERE. Very rude staff and bad food. Worst restaurant experience.

Diner Review №31

Diner Review №32

The food was very bad and it was not the real Thai food. If you tried Thai food before you would know it. I would not recommend this place.

Diner Review №33

Good som tum, but the shrimp were a little wilty

Diner Review №34

I love yellow curry chicken but it has spicy. I looked website and say not spicy.

Diner Review №35

Very clean place. I got exactly what I wanted, guys did outmost to serve me a soup with seafood, which was not on the menu. But they did it!

Diner Review №40

This is my typical order Thai food for delivery. Eat in on occasion. My fav panang curry in SF. Great corn fritters.

Diner Review №41

Food was soo good!!!

Diner Review №42

Diner Review №43

Very good food, service was fast, highly recommended!

Diner Review №44

So I'm a glutton for anything Peanut Sauce - when it comes to Thai ... anything - and the sauce was On Point here. The food was fantastic - service was great and the portion sizes were well worth the price. Know going in that even just an appetizer is almost a full portion entree size so order as You eat instead of beforehand unless You plan on taking things home with You! Though it's also good enough that one might just eat the entire plate!

Diner Review №45

DO NOT EAT HERE!!!! Yellow curry is supposed to have potatoes and there were ZERO... I asked for no mushrooms on ANYTHING and of course my curry is infested with tine mushrooms probably from their yards at home. When I called to see what they would do to make it right she argued with me and said I'd have to talk to somebody "tomorrow"

What a waste of $50!!!!!

DO NOT EAT HERE if you love Thai food!!!

Diner Review №46

Vegetarian pat Pat Thai was very good. Good portion. Enough for leftovers.

Diner Review №47

Outstanding food and great prices and great service

Diner Review №48

Great place for a date night with friends, Delicious Food, they have the best Sangria Ever!!Great Service. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Diner Review №49

We’ve ordered Lemongrass soup with prawns , green papaya salad and fried rice with pork. I had the soup and got food poisoning…
The salad that we’ve shared was so spicy that we barely could eat it.
Definitely won’t repeat.

Diner Review №50

Love going here the food is always good.

Diner Review №51

Light atmosphere with good service. The food was a let down though. Just not enough flavor and spices. Where’s the flavor, unexpected for Thai food.

Diner Review №52

I ordered pad thai (Thai spicy) for takeout. Good pad Thai. When they say Thai spicy, it’s really Thai spicy unlike other places where their spiciest level is barely spicy.

Diner Review №53

I had the Khao Soy, was a bit more salty than I would have liked and way too much crispy noodles on top, but still enjoy. Still not the same as in Thailand!

Diner Review №54

Diner Review №55

Diner Review №56

It’s the attitude and the super small portions. I don’t recommend this place. Expensive and low value.

Diner Review №57

Diner Review №58

Diner Review №59

Delicious 3 course lunch with soup, choice of appetizers and entrees. Looks like a bento box.

Diner Review №60

Diner Review №61

Update: still solid Thai food, but prices have gone over the edge. $65 lunch or 2 curries with rice and an appetizer.

Great Thai - their spice level is higher than most places - if you generally order spicy at most places ask for mild here and then add more To your liking.

Diner Review №62

Diner Review №63

Excellent vegetarian food. I got the 4-som appetizer sampler, and the food was excellent and well worth the price.

Diner Review №64

This place is very close and I want so badly for it to be good, but the food just isn’t. The service is good but the food seems to have absolutely no flavor. The pad see ew just seemed like noodles and chicken and broccoli were cooked with no sauce. The sweet and sour was very syrupy. I’m spoiled by Vegas Thai food which is incredible.

Diner Review №65

Great food and good service! Let's support Castro businesses ❤️

Diner Review №66

Just off Castro street on the corner. The food was good and nice portions. The food and staff are original Thailand.
Am not sure of the prices because my friend paid. Am assuming they are reasonable. Compared to Los Angeles Thai restaurants was a little smaller but that is probably because of being in San Francisco. Overall not bad

Diner Review №67

The best Thai food I love this Thai food

Diner Review №68

Best Thai in SF. Super friendly service.

Diner Review №69

Friendly staff and consistent good food.

Diner Review №70

Diner Review №71

Diner Review №72

Fantastic Thai food..

Diner Review №73

The food was very fresh and tasty. It was authentic and menu selections were very good. 😋 they don't have duck which I found odd! Ultimately the experience was tainted because they tried to give us cheap talipia and pass it off as catfish. So three stars for this place take it or leave it.

Diner Review №74

Superb appetizers, red curry with shrimp and drunken noodles. The tofu is amazingly well done and the dishes are nicely flavoured with basil

Diner Review №75

The food and service was the best. Paul ensured we were take care of, ask for him.

Diner Review №76

Best pad thai in the city.

Diner Review №77

Diner Review №78

Very good! This is the best Thai chicken curry I ever had, and that’s saying a lot because I’ve tried a lot of chicken curry. I come all the way to San Francisco just for the food here. 🤩👍

Diner Review №79

Best green curry I've ever had!

Got the Pad See-Ew MILD. It was way to spicy to eat - painfully spicy. I can't eat it. Waste of my money.

Diner Review №87

Great food. Great service.

Diner Review №88

Love this place. Great prices, generous portions, never any wait, and the food comes out fast. Interior is pretty worn, but I'm there for the food.

Diner Review №94

I enjoy the good quality of the offerings and the consistent cooking. Their lunch menu is a good value and is a set in a clean, bright setting.

Diner Review №95

Diner Review №96

Never disappointed when we come here. Great food and staff.

Diner Review №97

Lots of choices and mostly good, the stand out dishes are the chicken satay which was juicy and tasty, and the pad see ew was delicious, highly recommend these. I do not recommend moo krob, it's my favorite dish but this place deep fried the pork so much it was just hard crisps.

Overall, the venue was clean and servers were really friendly.

Diner Review №98

Diner Review №99

Good food , it wasn’t our original choice but that place was closed. I’m glad this place was down the street and opened.

Diner Review №100

This is a solid Thai restaurant with a friendly staff. There's a pickup window so you can bring the pooch when getting your order.

Diner Review №101

I LOVE, LOVE LOVE Thai House Express. Very tasty food albeit smallish portions. Parking can be a real challenge.

Diner Review №102

Order basil chicken with rice.

Diner Review №103

Diner Review №104

This restaurant needs to catch up with changing times. Back in 90s a loud mouth queen talk in Castro gave a feeling or power to others, and it felt good to be part of the times. Today, it feels quite the opposite, more like "sweetie...I am just here to eat and enjoy time with my friend. Have no mood to listen to your song". That is how it felt visiting this restaurant. First of all, this is California, if this restaurant only has boiled rice as the only signature vegan dish, maybe the owner needs to move this restaurant to a more appropriate state in US. Secondly, I have travelled extensively across Thailand and enjoyed delicious vegan food. The waiter's response to vegan options was "this is an authentic Thai restaurant, our delicious curries cannot be vegan" (Cannot verify the delicious part but the vegan part is factually false) And then he added, "if you are vegan you can go elsewhere"

Diner Review №105

Diner Review №106

I loved my Pad See-Ew, but I think the runaway winners were the Pan Fried Flat Rice Noodles with Yellow Curry and the Chicken Satay. The Rice Noodles were so rich and tasted slightly bbq'd, and with the mix of veggies & yellow curry, the dish was exceptional. I ate more of it than I think my friend had a chance to 😂

Diner Review №107

Muy buena atención.

Diner Review №108

Great thai food! One of the best in the Castro area. Super deep and savory green curry. If you make it for the lunch special it comes with a super delicious tom kha soup 🍲 will be back

Diner Review №109

Absolutely terrible service! Probably the worst I've experienced so far in San Francisco! And trust me that's saying a lot! I guessed it's customary for this restaurant to hang up on their customers when they simply asked if they can have their order curbside because I forgot to wear a shirt...I definitely remembered my maskBut no shirt,My fault. But whenThePerson taking my order takes my order all the way through until that point where I asked the question, then hangs up on me...I understand, I could be a prankster in her eyes.. weekday i won't EVER understand is that when i called OVER &OVER&OVER AGAIN, about 5 times I believe, abd then let's it right here 10-20 times, then hangs up on me adter being on the phone for over two minutes EACH TIME....?
That's when I just believe they are dumb and will not be getting my business...and I sincerely hope THEY DONT GET YOUR BUSINESS either!!

Diner Review №110

Friendly staff, amazing food, bright and clean environment :) highly recommend the Tom Kha soup!

About 10months ago I wrote a bad review saying the food was salty. Now I change my review because they changed their food. I really like your vermicelli salad. Thank you for making it spicy upon request. Its super spicy just the way I like it. Other dishes are just as good.

I went in for a late lunch around 3 pm. Service was quick and the staff were nice. I got the pad see ew with chicken and it was the worst pad see ew I've ever had. The chicken was hard and the noodles were bitter and salty. It was one of the few times I threw out the meal before I was halfway done with it.

Diner Review №120

Love the Koh Soi. Great neighborhood Thai joint

Diner Review №125

Amazing food and service I love there coconut soup.

Diner Review №126

Diner Review №127

I ordered the Tom Yum soup with chicken. First, there was a thick long hair in the soup that was mixed in and felt hard to pull out. I cautiously tried a bit of the soup and it tasted like tomato soup and the chicken was dry (how is that possible given that it’s in soup?). I also asked for “spicy” and it was not spicy. Really wanted to like this place but didn’t.

Diner Review №128

Diner Review №129

We love this place!!

Diner Review №130

I used to live right across the street from Thai House, and it became a staple of my diet when the lockdown began. The food is always great, the staff is so friendly, and no matter how busy they were, I never once saw them skimp on their safety measures like spraying cards with disinfectant before and after running them, on top of all the regular safety measures like masks, distancing, and disinfecting surfaces. I always felt safe ordering from them!

The two menu items I'd highlight are the chicken noodle soup and Thai iced tea. The soup is perfectly seasoned and comes with enough rice noodles, bean sprouts, and chicken to fill you up while being relatively inexpensive, and this is the only place I've ever been able to order a Thai iced tea with almond milk that actually tastes as good as a regular dairy version.

Diner Review №131

My most reliable local Thai place. I've eaten here at least 60 times over the past five years. It's not special or fancy, but the food is always pleasing and flavorful, and the price is right.

Strongest recommendation for the pork leg stew - it's so packed full of vegetable, protein, and flavor, I've never had anything quite like it. It's perfect to freeze and take on long trips to reheat and have the most amazing food.

Other strong recommendations for the curries - can't go wrong with any of them.

Diner Review №132

Not yummy, and the curries all have fish sauce even if there is no additional meat, so they aren’t vegetarian.

Diner Review №133

Diner Review №134

Love it

Diner Review №135

Diner Review №136

For the first time in my life, pasta came out of steamed rice. Moreover, the meal reached 2.5 hours after ordering. I think you sent the food from another restaurant. i never recommend!

Diner Review №137

My favorite restaurant for delivery! Best Thai food in the city!!

Diner Review №138

Online order of curry didn't include rice. This is a basic and made the food experience terrible. Basic mistake and really disappointing.

Diner Review №145

This Thai restaurant has excellent food at reasonable prices. Green curry chicken, cucumber salad, beef noodles with Chinese broccoli are really tasty. The quantity is good. The service is spotty. Some wait staff are very friendly, others have attitudes. No one wants a waiter with an attitude.

Diner Review №146

Diner Review №147

If like Thai food this is one of the best in San Francisco

Diner Review №148

It was coo

Diner Review №149

Diner Review №150

The thai red curry is delicious with jasmine rice. I ordered tofu in the curry and the pieces of tofu are in incredibly large and delicious as well.

Diner Review №151

This is still my favorite Thai spot in the city, I’ve been here countless times. The green curry is amazing, I love the thin sliced vegetables. I also tried the Thai styled beef jerky and OMG so delicious. The dipping sauces were the perfect touch. Love this place!

Diner Review №152

I get take out here frequently. They always are ready ahead of schedule and the food has always been great.

Diner Review №153

Diner Review №157

Diner Review №158

Excellent food

Diner Review №159

Diner Review №160

Prices in the menu outside and in Google are less than the real prices once you are inside. Bait and switch. $14 for chicken pad Thai before tax and tip? Ugh. If you came here because google lists it as “$” one dollar sign, aka inexpensive, you are in for a surprise. The food isn’t bad, but the prices and the deception make this a 1 star restaurant that I will not be trying a 2nd time.

Diner Review №161

Diner Review №162

My cousin and I had a late lunch here after walking around town.  They have a big menu, but we choose the lunch special: I had the shrimp rolls with Basil Tofu and my cousin had the veggie egg rolls and Basil Chicken.  The lunch comes with Soup, Salad and Rice.  Our server was friendly and nice.  We were so happy they were open since so many places close between 3pm and 5pm. I really liked this place.

Diner Review №163

Over all very good. It was slow but for the time of day it should. Large portions. Good Thai tea. Very clean pace.

Diner Review №164

Diner Review №165

Diner Review №166

Tasty, casual Thai dining. The pumpkin curry and pra ram are my favorites there. They have good deals for lunch as well.

Diner Review №167

We really like this place. Thai food is good and authentic. We had the pad see ew and the pork belly dish. Both were fresh and hot the spot. Plenty of Chinese broccoli which is a favorite of mine. Wasn't too busy for a Saturday night either but we got there a little early too.

Its a little pricey but an excellent nieghborhood establishment that cozy. A good daye night location.

Diner Review №176

Been on two dates here, super nice staff (although they might hit on you if you’re good looking lmao) and honestly this is probably the cheapest food in the Castro… probably even cheaper than if you bought all the ingredients at the local Mollie’s and made it yourself. 5/5 will visit again.

Great food. I took a little snack (money bags) and they were great. Came with a little cucumber salad/sauce that was fresh and worked well with the fried bags.

Diner Review №194

Reasonably priced; not too cheap. The food is very good, definitely worth visiting. It's a little outside of the Castro Central food area and is not super obvious a you walk past it

Solid Thai food, I think the best in the Castro. No lines, good service, and a quiet spot to eat and catch up with friends. I especially like the pad Thai (it's my favorite pad thai in SF) and the appetizer combo.
