Cozy mainstay with a quaint interior dishing up familiar Thai specialties & happy hour cocktails.
Been looking for a great Thai spot due to the better half being picky. This was definitely a win! Tom kha soup was great, and full of flavor. Garlic Pepper chicken was good, pad Thai was a hit, and the satay was good. The food has plenty of meat which could be a mixture of enough or too much depending on your taste. I would definitely recommend it and I would go again.
The food and staff at this restaurant are absolutely outstanding, creating a dining experience that's hard to beat. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a delightful place to enjoy a meal. My child is particularly fond of the chicken fried rice; it's both flavorful and perfectly cooked, ensuring every bite is a delight! As for me, I can't get enough of the paradise pork belly—it’s incredibly tender with a rich, savory flavor that keeps me coming back for more. Don't miss out on the young coconut juice; it’s incredibly refreshing and pairs perfectly with the spicy dishes! This charming little spot has a unique character that sets it apart. If we find ourselves in Kemah again, we will definitely make it a point to return multiple times!
Nice restaurant with great service and food. We sat outside on the patio. The wine was also very good. The service was quick but not rushed. Spring rolls were fresh and the pad Thai was on point. Will return. We had already eaten 2 pieces of the spring roll when I took the pic 😅
We chanced upon this place searching for restaurants nearby, and overall, it was a nice place to try.
The food service was okay. The server did a nice job, and the wait time for food was about 10 minutes.
The calamari and the crab fried rice were very good, 7-8/10. The porkchops, however, did taste a little off, but we figured maybe it was due to the way it was made. Fast forward to about an hour back home, and I'm getting chills that led to fever, and the fiancee had a runny system. Safe to say we may have had contaminated food.
Other than the post experience, the staff, food, and restaurant were quite nice. Just wished we didn't get sick.
The food was delicious, with a wide range of authentic Thai dishes that cater to various tastes and spice levels. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who were knowledgeable about the menu. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it a great place for both romantic dinners and family outings. Whether you're a Thai cuisine enthusiast or a first-timer, Namthai is a great choice! As a bonus, it is convenient and close to the boardwalk!
Best thai in Houston area. If you like thai hot this is the place.
Beware!! CHEATERS!! SCAM!!
Four of us had lunch at this place on 01/05/2025, and the the atmosphere and food is between below average to average level. The waitress did not bring the check, instead she gave us a mobile payment system and after paying it gave a option to print the receipt, where it showed 20% of the bill as "TIP" because it's a large party and showed number of guests as 5. We are actually 4 members and they deliberately made number of guests as 5 and took 20% of bill as FORCED TIP.
Discourage these scamsters by avoiding going to this type of restaurants.
The food was decent, but the experience was ruined when we got our check and saw a $20 'large party' charge. We were a party of 4, so this didn’t make any sense. Upon further inspection, we realized the server had marked us as a party of 5. Not only was this inaccurate, but the server was rude and dismissive when we brought it up. We’ve never been considered a 'large party' at other restaurants for a group of 4. Disappointing service, and we won’t be back.
Absolutely best food ever and customer service will definitely be back.
not worth the money you spend .

Red curry was tasty and had a nice medium heat, good service and a nice atmosphere.

Need more spice on the drunken noodles. Too mild. Take out doesn't specify spice level. Otherwise really 👍 good!
After going there for almost 3 years and enjoying their food, I need to confess that the last time the food was horrible. Every single thing ordered was horrible. The Pad thai was inedible, the lime on the dish was cut a day before or was the leftovers of someone else's plate, the noodles was over cooked and was just a gluesh noodle ball impossible to separate them to eat. I asked spice number one and it was more like spice 7 to 9 super spice/hot. I am pretty sure I am not coming back. I thought it was weird seen the restaurant empty on Saturday at lunch time but after I tried the food, I understood that they really screwed up a good restaurant and now the clientes are gone and so do I.
Nice restaurant with great service and food. We sat outside on the patio. The wine was also very good. The service was quick but not rushed. Spring rolls were fresh and the pad Thai was on point. Will return. We had already eaten 2 pieces of the spring roll when I took the pic 😅
Love this restaurant. I am always pleased with the food, service and atmosphere. I live closer to the Houston area but always make the drive to eat here in Kemah.
The food was delicious! I deducted 2 stars for service because the dish I got didn't mention any meat and they ended up putting meat into the dish and charging extra for the meat even tho I mentioned I didn't ask for it.... I didn't eat it since I'm a vegetarian. I ended up fishing it out.
The sticky rice dessert was mad good! Totally recommend that!
Great Thai food and comfy atmo
Noodles good, chicken very dry old tasting, egg rolls good
Great food and definitely spicy if you want it that way. Real authentic Thai food 🙏
Poor service , the lady who takes the order is not attentive and will mess up the order. We we called her asking to fix the order her response with attitude was very rude. Not worth, go to other better Thai restaurant near by. Nasty place.
Beautiful place, infunstructure and fantastic food. My family and I loved very dearly!! Amazing waitress too! Thank you❤️
Great Pad Thai! It is our favorite restaurant n Kemah
Love coming here! Good food, always consistent. Mango sticky rice was awesome!
What a hidden gem this place is. The food was delicious. The best Tom Yum soup ever. The staff is friendly and the ambiance is welcoming with great background music. Nice bar area as well. I’ll be back very soon.
Exceptional service, great food, and atmosphere. Highly recommend. We'll be back!
The food was great. The service was nice. And the atmosphere was excellent.
We had pad kee mao, panang curry and pad cashew..
The food was awesome..
Came here for dinner after a day at the boardwalk. When we first walked in there was no one there so we waited a bit for someone to come out from the back and have us seated. The waiter was not friendly at all when she came out from the back room and we asked if we can sit outside on the patio since it was a nice day. The table that we were at was dusty and full of tiny leaves but the waiter did not even care to clean it for us so we were sitting at a dirty table for dinner. After we placed our orders, she became a little more friendly since we ordered a few dishes to try. The food was very good but the service was terrible. Probably won’t be dining in there again.
What a generous service of perfectly spiced yellow curry! Loved it! I tried many Thai restaurants that serve yellow curry, they are the same price as in here but the serving here is more generous, you would definitely order for more rice!!😊
Very pleased with this place. You have the option to eat outside in their patio and enjoy the beautiful view of inside it can either be upstairs or downstairs with very nice decorations. Our waiters name was Alin and she was very sweet and attentive definitely loved her. Food was excellent and exquisite definitely recommend the Tom Kha Soup it was out of this world with a little bit of powder chili and of course can't forget the Thai Ice tea on the side. Will be coming back to try something different and new in their menu.
Service was horrible but food was great. It is sad but I won’t go back.
Great food, great service. Will definitely be back since we are local.
Very cute restaurant.
The food was amazing and the service was great! The Panang curry was delicious🔥🔥
We'll absolutely be back!
Service was insanely slow, food was so so. Won't be coming back.
ร้านนี้รสชาติไทยที่สุดแล้ว ทำดี ทำถึง จึ้ง
Clean place, delicious food, and the most authentic Thai taste in this area. Good pricing too.
Love going to this place. Authentic food and the staff/owners are always so nice, always making sure you have enough rice with your curry, and your glass is topped off. They will ask you for a spice scale on 1 to 5 after you order, I prefer the 2 for a blend of flavor and bite.
I LOVE their fried tofu. It’s fried in house, but their homemade peanut sweet and sour sauce really is the star of the show.
Definitely a good place for a date or dinner.
Horrible customer service... Avoid at all cost...
Food is good
So delicious!!!
Horrible service. We were there on Saturday December 9...we waited 40 minutes and the server didn't even take our order. I understand if you are busy but at least come and take our order or acknowledge our presence or say you will get to us as soon as you can. I waved and the lady ignored us..We just left.
Food is very tasty

Lots of options to choose from. The Kee Mao (tofu) was delicious. Staff were attentive. Drinks were well made and strong too. Wish I lived nearby, so I could come every week!
Easy parking in the front or the beach public parking, great food and great value. Server is amazing polite ! Had papaya salad , pad tai noodle and spring rolls! All amazing ! Highly recommend stop by if you go nasa or the beach in the area.
My absolute favorite Thai restaurant. The panang curry is some of the best I've ever had. The restaurant is also beautiful.
worst worst customer service ever super rude that lady
Sorry to rate this a little harder, just bc I've been spoiled by really good thai near DC. The panang tasted watery at first and i couldn't really tell that there was much flavor. Then i tried some curry with rice and the flavor came out better. It did seem to have a little more emphasis on the spice than the flavor, but it was decent. The ginger taste was a little strong, but not a deal breaker. I enjoyed the rice shaped like a great e and the whole over all atmosphere. It's really nice in there. Maybe i should have tried a seafood dish since it's by the water, but... unless my niece wants to try it, i probably will just hit a seafood place next time.
Think it could’ve been better
Topically with larb they’ll give lettuce to wrap it in or something else to go with it but maybe they just do it differently here in Kemah. Still had good flavor although it did taste like they added a little too much fish sauce.
The mango sticky rice was way way overpriced at ten dollars per order of that dessert. Was a little bummed with what was presented vs what was payed. Thai tea was good.
Think I’ll go ahead and give them another shot whenever I visit the area again because the place looked nice and looked to have good customer service.
We have come here before and the food and service was great. We decided to come back and I ordered the same dish. During eating my food I seen an hair and knowing these things can happen I disregarded it, said nothing but as I looked again….. yet another hair. At this point I bring to waitresses attention who has another waitress come. She looks at the hair and then my hair and takes the plate. Comes back and offers me a 10 percent discount. No, I would like to not pay for food I didn’t eat. She then proceeded to tell me all cooks wear hair nets and no one has that color hair. Everyone in the establishment had that color hair. Then she takes the check and brings back, placing it harshly in front of me and it’s taken off the check. Our server was a great server and still polite after the incident but “the other server” manager maybe was not polite at all about the situation. Sadly we won’t return because of that. And we really loved the place.

Sadly, we didn't get a chance to try the food. Sat down right after another couple. They were presented with smiles and ice water. Our server gave us a scowl and menus and we never see her again. Three other groups came in after that and we decided to head someplace else to get served.
This is a great place! Really good food that always comes out hot!
I have yet to have something I don’t like from here.
I’d have to say my favorite so far is the beef jerky and the pork ribs.
It’s a little warm inside during the summer but there are plenty of fans around.
Service is very friendly and prompt.
My family and I always go here, super quiet restaurant with great food and amazing service.
This experience was awesome! I would highly recommend this restaurant if you truly love Thai food and Thai people. This is the real deal!
Another amazing lunch at Nam Chai Thai Restaurant...thanks Nui T! Nui T was very sweet and polite. The food is delicious.
We just left the restaurant. We set there over 40 minutes after we ordered our food. The people after us already had drinks and we didn’t have water yet . I’m just very disappointed.waitress of overwhelmed
By herself making drinks waiting tables
Typical problem these day not sure if we
Will another special trip to eat there .
Came here on the Saturday evening of memorial day weekend. Food was amazing. I had yellow curry, one of my favorites. We arrived at 8:45PM and got the best table in the house. Service was great, decorations were nice. The drink menu was diverse. The cocktails on the menu were definitely not Thai, but fit in perfectly with the Kemah atmosphere. Wonderful juxtaposition.
Best Phad Thai I have had in Texas. Been living here for 14 years and I have finally found the best Thai in Texas. The restaurant was short staffed but we are patient. The drinks were great, Long island ice tea was strong and flavorful. For groups larger than 4 people I would recommend calling and making a reservation.
So good, try the thai salad with ginger and peanut sauce.
Thom kha is 10/10 and I don’t understand how every time I come in this place isn’t busy!! It’s beautiful inside and the food is always absolutely delicious. Try the pork belly chef special!
Amazing place. The menu has a lot to choose from, and everything was delicious. I had some picky eaters in my party but they still complimented the food. Thai tea was very good, one of the best I’ve had. The service was also great. We came in around 9:30 and got our food pretty fast, even though the restaurant had 2 servers. Also, I saw a couple come in around 9:55 (close to closing time) and they didn’t refuse them service. They were still served even though they were about to be closed. Overall great place. The only negative was that someone in my party ordered spring rolls and asked for no shrimp, just vegetables but were charged the same price ($7.99). That didn’t make much sense to me but if that’s what keeps the business open then we’re happy to pay. Also fyi 18% gratuity added of parties 5 and up.
Deliciuos and fair price
Everyone was super kind the food came out piping hot =]
Have been to Namthai multiple times. The food is great and very tasty. Good veggie options.
We recently went with a couple of friends!! The food was amazing!! I had the yellow curry!!
Great food. But always closed. I have questions.
Fantastic!
The food is good.
I was not really very fond of Thai food..so when we decided to taste Thai for this day I was really skeptical. But the Food really amazed me. Most authentic Thai food I tested here. Not so expensive too within our budget. I will definitely go again if opportunity comes in my way.
The Food was above and beyond excellent and the ladies that work there are so friendly and polite exceptional service and food
Table with a view, a lovely waitstaff and oil soaked calamari, left a film in my mouth.
We thoroughly enjoyed it. Nice atmosphere and good food.
I've become a regular here, me and one of my good friends which would mean this is obviously in at least my top 5 favourite places to eat. Highly recommend the Jerky beef appetizer.
Very expensive food for no apparent reason.
The restaurant is in a very cool building, the exterior, interior, and all the ambiance is a 10/10.
The disappointment came with the service and the food. I’d say that both the service and the food gave me mixed emotions. What I mean is that the service and the food was both good and bad. If they were consistent with delivering good service and food, this rating would have been a five star.
Just because of the location and the ambiance, I wouldn’t mind paying the price I paid, but because the service and food wasn’t on point, out experience here gets Namthai Restaurant only 2 stars.
We ordered Egg rolls, Chicken Satay, Veg Tom-Yum Noodle soup and a Chicken Pad Thai.
The egg rolls and chicken satay were very average, it wasn’t bad but not tasty at all. The same with Pad Thai, as it didn’t have enough meat on it for the price we paid, the taste was okay-ish, not bad but not that tasty probably 5/10.
Now the good part was the Tom-Yum Noodle soup. It was actually pretty tasty. I’d give it a sold 8/10.
The worst disappointment was the blue drink which cost us almost $10 and was filled mostly with ice. It wasn’t strong enough, in terms of alcohol and was completely filled with ice which made the review on the negative side. The picture was taken after drinking the drink but you can still see how much ice is in the drink, when it isn’t supposed to have any ice(just need to shake and stir).
We asked for things such as Siracha and waited the whole time but the server never got back.
I probably will never be back again.
Food is fresh and spicy! The tofu is well-cooked. I generally go down a level in spiciness because they use fresh hot peppers
Located in a beautiful location near the boardwalk, this was a good find! Ordered takeout and the service was speedy and the food was still hot by the time we got home. The young woman who took my order over the phone and greeted me in the restaurant was also super friendly. I ordered both of our dishes at a spice level 2 however one dish was significantly hotter than the other (in the future we’ll be ordering a level 1 even though we have moderate spice tolerances, just to be safe). The chicken was a bit dry but overall both dishes were very yummy and reasonably priced!
Great Thai place in Kemah. Skip some of the restaurants on the boardwalk and you'll get much better food here. I've had Pad Thai and curries here and both were delicious. My wife got drunken noodles and really enjoyed it as well. I've stopped in to get lunch to go and they were quick as well.
Great service and great food. The only downside is the parking. You might have to park at the large lot nearby, which does cost.
Food is so good! They just changed ownership a few months ago and I can tell that the Food is made with more love than before. Staff is very sweet. Be patient as they are in need of more staff. Food is prepared as you order so it is definitely not a place to go if you are in a hurry. Recommend the pork Jerky for appetizer!
Was a random stop , Definitely wasn’t disappointed … The energy and vibe was cool and the food was AMAZING ….
Great food. Quick service!
The best red curry that I have ever had. Polite staff, fast service.
This place is perfect.
Evening dinner
I didn’t like that I couldn’t substitute the white rice for another style. The waitressing service could be better. The pork belly ok. The shrimp wrap a no for me. One of em wasn’t deveined all the way n it tasted too raw. Lemon/vinegar wash would have fixed that. I may or may not return. Thanks
Delicious food, well prepared, specially the fish! Love it! Good customer service as well.
This is my “go to” for Thai food. Everything I’ve ordered here is delicious. The yellow curry is perfect. Large servings too!
Had lunch with my buddies, best Thai food i have had in a long time.Kat was very cordial and friendly and attended to us patiently. Loved the sauce they gave the appetizer, enjoyed and savored Veg noodles ,shrimp fried rice.Panag chicken curry was the Best.Thx for such great tasty food.Cheers!!Oh i forgot the only draw back was they didnt have any dinner plates, their plates were snack plates.
Pork/Beef jerky and Kai Jeow (Thai style omelette) are great to go with the drinks. Tom Yam soup is just average tho. Been here a couple of times and never had a big disappointment with any order or with the staff. They're super friendly and seem to have regular customers around the bar all the time.
Awesome best Thai restaurant in the area far surpasses all other Thai restaurant in the Area
Very good food and atmosphere. Dined there twice in past week.
Food looked so good service was great. Unfortunately had to leave early. 😥
Food was great, mood was great also, and not too crowd. They god rid of Thai flavors from the food, so it is not traditional Thai. I would call it Tex Thai, Americanized Thai, or something like that. Service was not awful but the waiter did not provide some important information about patment, instead he talked about useless things sometimes. I will visit there again, the only reason I don't give them 5 stars is the waiter's small mistake. (I paid 9 more dollars without noticed.)
The Duck was like jerky, I was told that's how it is. Paid full price for a meal I did not touch.
First thing first, I will write this is a beautiful Thai restaurant located on Kemah broadwalk. The inside and outside is really nice so if you are looking for something that is Asian plus a nice sitting area then this place maybe for you.
As far as the food, it's okay. It's not the worst Thai restaurant I've tried but it's not the best either (maybe around the Kemah area but not around Houston). We ordered the kid fried rice, pad khing, massamum curry, and eggplant basil. Overall out of all the dishes I think the pad khing was the best out of all since the taste was the most balance. The eggplant was fresh and I loved the basil but it was a bit on the greasy and oily side. The massamum was spicy but was more on the sweeter side.
I would say the service is attentive but not out of this world. The menu is all traditional Thai cuisine and it's set up very nicely - the only criticism I had was that I wasn't sure if they did ice tea (not Thai ice tea) and how much it was. I ended up just having water but that's not really a huge deal breaker for me.
I believe this restaurant is better for people who may not be so used to Thai food or if you rather have Asian vs seafood.
Best Thai food I've had in a long time. Awesome Thai beer. Awesome service
No comparison. No worry, any curry or the Thai noodle soup-you just can’t go wrong here. Ask for the spices to make it your own. We ❤️ Nam Thai. Take-away or dine in, with pets or without, large groups and small, live music or cooking shows-they accommodate all.
Recently ate at this restaurant during Memorial Day weekend. Waited forever for food. Service was terrible. If you ask for anything, you either get ignored or worse, the female worker hits you with incredibly nasty attitude. First time ever I left NO tip. It’s vacation and no one should have to put up with nastiness and unprofessionalism like hers. There are sooo many restaurants in Kemah. Go anywhere else but the attitude palace!!!
We had a female server that has the most arrogant attitude I have ever encountered. We didn’t get served for the first 30 minutes after we were seated, not even water. In the meantime, the couple came after us had their drink, appetizer and the entree, When we finally voiced our concern, the female server got defensive, cancelled our drink without our consent. We all know the service team either make a restaurant or break it, unfortunately the service we get at this restaurant is seriously subpar.
The food is amazing. Great staff, very friendly and welcoming. Atmosphere is awesome!
Incredible service, food, and ambiance. We got crab rangoon, veggie pad Thai, and red curry. It was the best red curry I’ve ever had! The restaurant was clean, and the service was friendly. Will return.
First time for my family of 5 dining here for dinner. The restaurant is pretty. Customer service was good. The area was beautiful. First time in Kemah city too! Everything we order was good. Especially the duck curry was very very delicious. We was impressed. We are big foodies and very picky about our foods especially Thai foods. We’ve been searching high and low near our neighborhood for a really good authentic Thai restaurant and so glad we found one and in the perfect location too! The only reason why I give it a 4 stars is because they didn’t have the spicy option and when I asked for hot chili oil sauce they only have siracha or regular hot Sauce which is lame and weird for a Thai place not to have a spicy option. Most place would ask you how spicy of the level you want for each dish and they didn’t have it. We love our Thai food to be spicy. So I just used the siracha they gave me. Which wasn’t great would’ve been so much better with hot chili oil sauce. And the second reason why I only gave it a 4 stars is that the womens bathroom didn’t have a changing station aka changing table for me to change my baby’s diaper on. Very inconvenient and not considerate at all. So if it they fixed those two things Than it can be a 5 star.
Crab fried rice was terrific. The bar hostess was also very attractive.
Delicious food. Very nice services. Really like a beautiful waitress there who was struggling with english but was great at her job and smiling all the time. She was the highlight of our visit.
This is an exceptional restaurant tucked away in Kemah with wonderful staff and a beautifully decorated interior.
The bar was a temptation too close and the cocktails very well made. We had calamari and tod man pla appetizers and then moved on to curries, pad Thai seafood, and a kee mao rice dish that were all delicious.
Food was delicious
Absolutely amazing. My husband and I came for dinner in a cold Saturday night and we are both forever customers now. Everything was fresh. Great service. The best Thai curry I've ever had. Egg rolls were amazing. Mango sticky rice for desert. Thai tea was spot on. You really can't go wrong here. Worth the price and worth the time to wait because it's literally made to order.
Did not like the service. Food was okay, however after the server delivered the food on the table he never came back, wanted some lime and order additional food for the table. End up catching her on the way to the kitchen and asked for the receipt.
I got the squirts after eating their fried pork!
Don't waste your money there!
Delicious Thai food.
This place was great. The atmosphere was pretty romantic and casual at the same time, along with great food and service.
I got the clay pot seafood dish and my wife got the beef noodles. Will come again
A great Thai place with excellent food. Very reasonably priced too!
Great food and service!
This restaurant has a great atmosphere and is possibly the best Thai food I have ever had!
Great food, great service.
Tried a lot of dishes here that are so tasty, except their pad Thai. Not a fan, but outside of that. Mmmmm yes. The seafood hot pot is so delicious, the pad see ew yum y. Any curry dish is great. The appetizers are good. Love the atmosphere of the building as well. The staff is always friendly although I’ve seen a lot come and go, but even the new faces are always friendly. The singha and chang beer is delightful to wish down with some hot sake. Wish they would get some bigger carafes, you get about 2.5 small cups. Out of the small ones, but paying what other like business charge for a large. But still love th place. We done here often also since it’s local for us and near the boardwalk.
Excellent food, nice atmosphere, great service!
Service and food was not so good, we visited on 31st December
Food was great with such a decent price tag.
It is located right inside Kemah area, which was a plus.
Nice atmosphere. Great service. Delicious food!
I love their food
This place has a particular smell which I don't like. I don't like the chicken pad thai. I probably won't visit it again
Not very impressed, food was sweet! Some was delicious but definitely not the fried rice! The fried rice was very plain!
Decent food and priced
Really great food and service. Authentic thai!
Absolutely hands down our favorite Thai restaurant in Texas. Stopped here after an afternoon on the boardwalk and the food was exceedingly over expectations. I went for the Pad See Ew and my husband chose the Pad Thai and both dishes had on point flavor profiles. It was one of those times where every bite you’re commenting on how good the food is. The service was top notch and the beautiful atmosphere really added to the experience. There’s so much obvious attention to detail here which we highly appreciated. We definitely recommend Nam Thai and are already talking about what we’re going to have when we return.
We had mixed experience at this place. The to go food was wonderful when we had to go but came back with larger group for family dinner, food was not great and tasty. Also waited a long time for dinner served even though there weren't that many customers
... Jesus.
