About Us

Opened in 1955, Jimmy Wong’s Golden Dragon Asian Bistro has became the premier Asian cuisine in San Diego. Continuing it’s long tradition of serving quality Asian Cuisine we have recently remodeled the interior for the 21st century and we’ve kept our historic golden dragon neon sign to guide all who seek us. We offer a classic Thai , Asian fusion inspired menu along with draft beers, wine, sake, and desserts. Perhaps most importantly, we’re open late seven days a week and even later on weekends. If you’re looking for something more interesting than the usual fare late at night, look no further.

Very nice and pleasant staff.
Excellent spring rolls with peanut sauce, pad se eu, and basil chicken dish. Accommodating to my food allergies. Generous portions.

Diner Review №2

Pretty good Asian food at an unassuming place.
Would recommend the fried rice, the tofu drunken noodles were alright.
Spring rolls were good too!

Diner Review №3

Open super late, and food is fantastic. I eat here all the time, especially after a night out. Great vegetarian options.

Diner Review №4

A small thai restaurant with plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. My family had the best time here during our New Year’s Eve trip. Service is awesome. I ordered the vegan chicken pad thai and hands down the best I’ve tried.

Lisa c. took our order and got it very wrong. I'm a vegetarian and ordered Panang curry with mock duck, and they brought out the curry with a big chunk of real roasted duck. I took a small bite and immediately knew, and she took it back. My friend ordered ginger soup with veggies and and no spice, they first brought out a soup with no veggies, we sent it back, then they brought out another very spicy one, then they got it right on the third try (but still no lime, as requested). When we got the check, we asked for a discount, as I was served meat and her order was wrong twice. She sent another guy, and he tried to argue that they remade it. I explained that I took a bite of meat, and im vegetarian. He agreed to do 50% off mine, and then brought out my friend's check full price. She explained her order was also wrong twice, then he also took 50% off hers. He then spoke to us about how he spoke to the server Lisa, and made it clear she said we were in the wrong. Aka, she lied to her boss about what we ordered. He then tried to tell us that next time we should be more clear about what we're ordering, and it confirm it with her. I told him it's not our job to make sure she's doing her job right; if she's not sure what we said, she should ask us to repeat or read the order back. She clearly was new & didn't even come back to the table when we asked for boxes twice. It was clear that she knew she messed up and was trying to cover her ass. Big yikes

Diner Review №7

Was truly disappointed with the Terriyaki chicken. It was bland, tasted like it was boiled. The orange chicken and egg drop soup were good. Made up for the boiled chicken.

Diner Review №8

Had Christmas dinner with the family and we had stumbled here as backup because Dumplings and more had a waiting time for over an hour. The service was fast and great and the green curry was delicious and by far my favorite I ordered the level 5 spice and it met expectations to my taste bud. Will definitely come back and try out their other dishes but mainly the other curry’s 🤤

Diner Review №9

The meals were pretty salty. We got the drunken noodles, pad thai, and green curry.

Diner Review №10

Every time i come here i have a spiritual experience. The food is ridiculously good. And the atmosphere! 🤌🏾🙏

Diner Review №11

Beware of the spicy, but otherwise wonderful little food and drink place. The roasted duck noodle is fantastic, the spicy basil fried rice is also grand happy hour has some decent options though they're not really deeply discounted but still wonderful best egg noodles in town

Staff wasn't very friendly. Food was great, though.

Diner Review №16

This place is eh the appetizers were a NO for me the salad was drenched in sauce that tasted salty and same with the sausage also salty. The entrees were okay but I feel like another Thai place could do it much better.
The place is cute and the service was nice.

Diner Review №17

Always hits the spot! We usually get their Tom Kha with steamed tofu, Pad See Ew with mock duck, & the Panang curry with fried tofu or mock chicken. Their cocktails are pretty good too. All reasonable prices with large portions, & so easy to make everything vegan. Service is great & they're open late every night. What a gem!

Diner Review №18

Do not bother coming, very uncomfortable, weird energy, They expect you to tip them after they make you run to your apartment down the street to grab cash , because their internet was down.

Diner Review №19

Food was great but service was terrible. We never got our cutlery even after our food had arrived. We actually had to take it from the table next to us. We ordered dessert, and they took away the plates but not the cutlery. So we ate the desserts with the new cutlery that they put it with, next to the dirty cutlery from before. At the start menu was tossed on our table and finally when we asked for receipts, it was like they didn’t hear it. The servers clearly doesn’t want to be there, but the food is good. Don’t dine in just get takeout or delivery. Again DON’T DINE IN.

Diner Review №20

I recently had dinner at Asian Bistro in San Diego, and I’ve got to say, it was incredible! The mock duck and sticky rice were absolute standouts—seriously, you have to try them. The mock duck had this perfect texture and flavor, and the sticky rice was just the right amount of sweet and sticky.

The vibe of the place is super chill, and the staff was friendly and helpful without hovering, which I really appreciated. It’s the kind of spot where you can just relax and enjoy some really good food. Definitely adding this place to my regular rotation. Highly recommend!

This should capture the casual, authentic feel you’re going for!

Diner Review №21

Came in for a quick bite around 1130 but it was pretty slammed which is usually a good sign.

Service wasn’t super quick but they were super friendly, gave a free appetizer and were really apologetic about the issues they had with internet.

Management is amazing, def recommend this place the food was bomb.

Got a few appetizers like the wontons and the egg drop soup.
10/10 recommend

Diner Review №22

The old menu with the old owner was a lot better. The food quality has gone down.

Diner Review №23

Told us to wait until table was clean just to come back and say only take out only. We entered an hour before close…

Diner Review №24

Everyone at the table loved their food. However, when it comes to bill time, they only split 3 ways and automatically add a large party gratuity onto the tab. If you’re like me with a busy group and having to pay, you’d miss that the tip was already factored into the bill.. the server was great, but now got 40% tip. I won’t be going there with large groups again. We could have just separated the tables a bit and pretended not to be a group.. to pay the bill took over 20 minutes. Food was really great though.

Diner Review №25

Food was good. But they shorted me on my rice. I don't care what time of night it was. Its no excuse. Maybe I should've checked. Doesn't matter anyway. They didn't care. I even gave a tip. Which meant nothing to them . They're entitled!!!!! Never coming back here again!!!!!!

Diner Review №26

The flash dryer green beans are amazing. A nice crunch and great flavor. I've tried several dishes and they've all been good. I usually get takeout. I've tried other Thai in this area and Asian bistro is the best of the options.

Diner Review №27

Fried rice! It's plentiful and delicious but not much difference between flavors. Thai Basil wasn't as "basil" as it could be but was decent. It's in the heart of Hillcrest so good luck with parking but it's a local favorite and good for take out too.

Diner Review №28

Somehow I always wind up here late night when I'm in the neighborhood. It's my go-to spot when I want to impress my friends with search high quality food and service when everything else is closed. Always top notch these guys work hard to bring you a unique experience and delicious food so tip them well!

Food was great. Found this on a whim during our San Diego vacation. Was pleasantly surprised! Some of the best food we had in SD. Service was very lacking though. Think they were understaffed on the night we went. Ordered to-go and waited about 45min for 2 entrees. The person who took our order was too busy with seated tables and kind of forgot about us. Luckily another staff member noticed we had been waiting awhile and helped get is our order.

Would return though! Was delicious. Hopefully they can get and retain more staff!

Diner Review №32

I had a deeply troubling experience with this restaurant. The customer service was not only unprofessional but also exhibited blatant racism. I was treated with disrespect and hostility, which was both shocking and unacceptable. It’s disheartening to see such behavior in this day and age. I strongly advise against using their services until they address these serious issues. We were waiting for 15 mins at the door and they are taking others inside and we weren't asked to get in. We saw the tables are unoccupied and they are just passing time to leave us apart. Not acceptable at all. Finally, the ladies at the restaurant has behaved as if they are giving us free food.

Diner Review №33

Food is awesome! Some pork gyozas, then a delicious tom kah a Thai basil fried rice and some drunken noodles. 🤤
Best meal ever!

Diner Review №34

amazing food

Diner Review №35

I had the worst experience with the staff (costumer service workers) a couple of weeks ago! First, I called to place an order to-go before meeting some friends for dinner. The manager took my order on the phone and was very rude when explaining that there's a policy about paying $5 "service charge" for eating some of a to-go order at the restaurant. I pushed back obviously because I was literally going to have 2 pieces of satay and take the rest home anyway. I thought I'd save them the trouble of wasting a plate.
I get there, pay for my food while the server and manager are giving me weird looks. I sit down with friends at the table, open my bag and begin taking a couple bites before the server comes to again rudely remind me of the policy. I told her I explained to the manager on phone that I would only eat a bit and take the rest, which she said was fine. The server insisted on me paying the $5 service fee and wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise to question or explain anything.
Then she was extremely chummy with everyone else at our table while taking their orders after how terrible she spoke to me. I made a comment about that, and she went OFF on me. She starts talking to me in super unprofessional language and didn't care when I reminded her that I'm a paying customer and she's a server. I told her she was speaking in a ghetto manor, because she was! At this point she's literally yelling loudly in the restaurant and calling me racist. I'm Mexican and so is she...
The manager finally checks on what's happening but doesn't ask me what the problem is. Instead she pulls the server aside calmly and only gets her side of the story and comes back to tell me to leave. She barely apologized for the servers behavior, in a very condescending way, like she wasn't sorry at all. This place is so corrupt and idk who lets these people get away with this behavior. 0/10 would not recommend ever.

Diner Review №36

Best drunken noodles ever!! Yummy tom young soup. Fast n friendly service. My friends office orders delivery from here every week but he has never been here. He loves your fried sausage. He enjoyed coming here.

Diner Review №37

Service was solid. I think I messed up my order 3x and the waiter didn’t give any signs of attitude shoutout her 🙏🏽 the food was great and the paintings were a cool plus.

Diner Review №38

I almost don’t want to post this because I don’t want this place to become too popular. So good! So much to say: the food. We started with the spicy green beans. Yes! Not over cooked, not over seasoned- perfect. The crab wontons - highly recommend! The tangerine chicken- fresh not greasy- so good. (Quick sidebar -This is a really cute area in San Diego- lots of tattoo places around the corner) the druken noodles- yes. Camomile tea- yes peppermint tea- yes. We wanted the tea drinks but it was late and we’d just jumped off a flight - found this place by accident-
We were looking for a Walgreens for sinus medicine. Lol - For dessert- I had fried ice cream. I hate that I couldn’t finish it! I tried. My colleague had fried bananas with ice cream. We cannot wait to go back!!!! When you go - just say Thanks Nicole you were right!

Diner Review №39

It is a very busy and was short staffed when we visited, but the experience was good nonetheless. The staff were friendly and tried really hard to be attentive despite them being packed. I've had a fair share of Tom Yum, but this place might be my favorite thus far. The papaya salad was very fresh and crisp and delicious - if your palate cannot take spicy make sure to request a level 1 because the red peppers are chopped up very small and embedded and one bite could send your tongue burning.
Most Thai places I've visited before did not offer roasted duck so got it with the pad see eu and boy was that the right choice~ it was absolutely fantastic! My friend got a shrimp lo mein and despite us being full, kept eating everything was so delicious. Definitely worth a try if in the Hillcrest area!

Amazing late night food and drinks spot! Tons of options for all, the curries and noodles dishes were all very tasty. The ginger rice soup was delicious and very spicy at 4/5 heat level, just the way I like it. Excellent for large groups and super friendly staff. Will be 100% back!

*Update, I have been back dozens of times, both in dine in and delivery. I can't get enough of their soups!*

This review is literally so painful for me to write but what the hell happened to this place? I’ve been a loyal customer for 8+ years and the last few orders i’ve had have been really, really poor. I figured I’d stick with them still and hope it was a rough patch but today my chicken pad thai was somehow burnt. The noodles were insanely gummy and only the top layer of the order was edible. The underneath layers were a deep gray, almost black. Not to mention my
last few orders have been neon orange and they never used to be?

I called and I do so appreciate that they refunded me, but as I tried to salvage the top layer I found multiple hairs embedded in the noodles. I’m genuinely depressed. RIP to my go to spot.

The food, service and atmosphere were great. We came with a large party and had almost every plate the ones that stood out where the salmon spicy soup, the tom kah soup, the papaya salad, the drunken noodles, and the mango sticky rice. Try the ice teas with coconut milk (Thai and green) very tasty.

Diner Review №49

Basically no service and the food was so poorly executed, we could barely eat it. All plates were left almost full and it wasn’t even questioned.

Diner Review №50

A mixed experience at The Asian Bistro. While the Tom Kha stood out with its exceptional taste, the service left much to be desired. A prolonged wait for the wonton noodle soup, unfulfilled promises of a discount, and a generally lackluster service overshadowed the decent quality of the food. Not sure I would come back given that we got this level of service while only having a few people in.

Sadly we will never have a dining experience at this restaurant. We arrived at 530 and waited to be seated. When we asked to be accommodated at certain tables we were told no and offered only the tables at the very front of the restaurant. It was astonishing that there was no attempt to meet our needs. There was no attempt to make us feel welcome or comfortable. We left and won’t be back. Business must be really good.

Would I return??? Definitely!

I would order curry to go from time to time and have average service. Showed up on a weekend before going out and ordered crispy egg rolls. The brought out spring rolls. I told the waiter I didnt want them. They refused to take them off and charged me for both egg rolls and spring rolls. Even gave me a box for spring rolls o didn't want. Terrible service. I understand not wanting a comp as a server but I'll never be back.

Okay I rarely write reviews cause I figure it’s never that serious. But than a friend told me sometimes you have to in order for business to grow and people to learn. I walked in here at 11pm and 4 other guest was there at one table I waited at the door no one seated me so I walked in and sat down at a empty table by the register. No one greeted me so I got up to order my food instead the cashier as very nice and sweet but the server I don’t know what his problem was he was already talking nasty to one of his staff.. I sat down to wait for my food. A Asian couple walks in gets seated and he services them and 10 mins later they get they food before me… I only order fried fish and they got full entrees before me. Fine that’s cool than as I’m waiting my food comes out.. I begin to open it and he says “you can’t eat in here I’m about to start closing up” mind you it’s 1145 and they close at 1230 I look around and see the 4 people that was here before me hanging out and the Asian couple seated accross from me enjoying they meal. So I look over at them than look at him and he says “well you ordered take out so if you want I can surcharge you or you can eat outside” I said “ but it’s cold outside” he says “sorry but we are closing up” so he gives me my food and I asked for something else he gives me attitude than gives it to me. I walk outside to eat my food. I than began to see him at the register and talking for 20 mins as I begin to start eating my food OUTSIDE. What happened to your urgent need to clean?! And food … it’s not even great not exactly what I asked for but fine.. I go back in and ask the other server or assistant I guess and she’s sweet I ask for water as soon as she starts talking he cuts her off and says “just give him the to go cup” so I take my water and leave say good night get home safe and head to my car

Diner Review №81

My first time here Terrible customer service by Natalie.

Diner Review №82

They have some of the best pad thai I’ve had outside of Thailand (it’s a textural thing/the way they make the noodles). A lot of American Thai restaurants really mess up pad thai, this place does not. I’m also obsessed with their hot&sour soup. Everything I’ve had here is amazing. The service is also super friendly and they’re open late!!! I just skip their mock chicken. I prefer the mock chicken at Plumeria.

Diner Review №83

My go-to late night meal in Hillcrest. The curries are good but tonight I tried the salmon on a "bed of broccoli and carrot" plate. As you can see from the photo, it included about one piece of broccoli and maybe a third of a carrot diced up for $17. Pretty disappointing meal. Stick with the curries or soups.

Diner Review №84

💥 Excellent Service
💥 Super chill spot before 10pm

Me and my wife came here for dinner around 8:00pm and the place was almost empty. We were seated quickly and the price of food will not hurt your wallet. Checking into yelp will give you a free drink so make sure you do that when arriving! Our server Andrea was very attentive to our needs and answered our questions without hesitation. The place was great for date night. After 10pm the place can be a bit crowded and the noise level gets much higher. On the weekends this place is open until 2:00AM and they get a lot of delivery orders so my best suggestion, get there early! If you haven’t checked this place out, do it!

The waitress, Cristina, (other than addressing an older woman, as “Hon”), I thought was excellent! She was attentive, personable & paid great attention to my request for no msg (it gives me migraines) nor gluten (i have celiac).
My reason for the very low rating on the food is because when my stir fry veggies with golden tofu was served within approximately 4 mins, i was very suspicious and told Cristina so. Truth be told, it looked like it had been sitting awhile. I was assured that there had been a large order so extra have been cooked which is why it came out so fast. Approximately two minutes later. Cristina came back out and said “Don’t take a bite”, it’s not gluten free. (of which i had taken exactly one bite). A new plate was brought. I wish i would have taken s picture of it because, for $17.00, you get a huge amount of rice noodles, and a rather small dinner entrée. The flavor was not bad, I’d give it a 5, on a 1-10. But what prompted me to write a review is that i was awakened with a headache. The only time i get headaches, is when i either consume gluten, or msg. I am certain my entrée had one or the other, so was pretty upset. As it was, i was not planning on going back because you don’t get much value for your money. Matter of fact, i had told Cristina i was still hungry afterward. (And im a small woman weighing only 102lbs). I surely hope Asian Bistro changes their ways. Thank you.

Diner Review №104

Chubby Hispanic girl with glasses very rude. I am an Uber Eats driver and always approach with a positive attitude. She aggressively told me to wait behind the table, said "thank you very much" in a condescending manner and then when she brought the customers food she saw I reached my hand out to grab the bag, yet she put it down on the table instead of handing it to me. I know it sounds like a misunderstanding or "didn't mean it", but if you were there and experienced what I did, you would see that she did it intentionally to be rude. Wish everyone the best, but customer service is key

Diner Review №106

We ordered the cream cheese wontons, hot sour soup, and the minced pork krah pow. Everything was very tasty and freshly made. We ordered spice level two out of five and it was very spicy but still enjoyable. So just a warning to order a lower spice level such as one or two or zero if you do not like spicy food. Overall portions were generous and fresh tasty food. Definitely a restaurant that we will come back to again.

When I say, this is an experience! We came, unknowing what was in stored! The ambiance and customer service was superb! Instantly greeted when we walked in, before the door could close. We were tended to every step of our dining experience by both Shae and Christina! They were both very very kind, attentive to detailed, helpful in recommendation, and overly accommodating! Never saw the bottom of my cup; and finished dishes cleared immediately! And the kitchen!!! Dishes were full of flavor! Wonderful portions! We tried the recommendations of Crispy Rolls, Krah Prow and Joy Lucky Club (pulled Duck). I felt like they were trying to win us over effortlessly! The team at this establishment are really passionate about what they do, and it shows! Thank you all for your love and this experience! You are on our list for the next time we come to San Diego! Definitely do not recommend it! The food was ok but the service was atrocious. The chubby lady that served us was rude, angry and tired.

We asked simple questions about the menu and she got confrontational, took 15 minutes to bring our drinks with only 4 tables in the entire place e another server.

This person is clueless and should not be serving tables if she dislikes that much.

Congratulations, you ruined our dinner!

Diner Review №142

The food is fantastic, great portions, and they are open so late which is amazing for when we get out of work or shows late! A TON of vegan options! Their edamame appetizer has the best sauce

Diner Review №143

My first time. Excellent food, and so excited that they have vegan options. Love that they are open late. Will definitely be returning.

I phoned in an order to be delivered . After a while I checked my phone and there was a text from a “grub hub” driver saying he had delivered my food . Hung up and looked outside -no food. Called him back after I checked with the front house to see if it was delivered there. Owner said no food there . Called the driver back again he said “yes I left it by the fence and there was a big dog”. I looked next door there was a big dog . We walked over and asked the owner if someone left some food there , he said yes they heard the dog barking and outside the fence was a bag of food. I thanked him , went back to my place. Food all over the bag and ice tea missing . I went next door and asked if there was an ice tea? He went back to the fence and yes there was a cup of ice , tea had spilled . I tried contacting grub hub and Asian Bistro in San Diego and no response !! Terrible experience . After that I made sure I ate dinner before going home .

Diner Review №150

Seems understaffed and things were moving pretty slowly. Normally I would overlook it as long as the food is good. But, it makes more of a difference when you only have 1 hour parking. As I'm typing this I have less than twenty minutes until my parking expires and I havent gotten my order.

Edit: Food was good though.

Diner Review №151

The food was delicious! The customer service was ok, they were a little rude. However, we loved the food and would eat there again.

Diner Review №152

Bad experience

Diner Review №153

Bomb! Definitely coming back to try more menu items. I love how diverse the menu is. There are even vegan and gluten free options! I gave this place 4 stars because of the service. It was a little aggressive but I got my food to go. I will definitely be back… probably tomorrow lol.

Diner Review №154

Good service and great food. Definitely recommend this place.

Diner Review №156

Great service, great food.

Diner Review №157

Very flavorful. The spring rolls are really good and come with hot fresh peanut sauce. Their soups are delicious… a little spicy normally I get a level 5 but here I get a level 3. I wish they would play more asian music that old alt rock lol

Diner Review №158

Diner Review №159

Not bad but there is better. If I was drinking near by, this spot would be amazing to grab a bite. The tangerine chicken could use some work, breaded well but the sauce was too thin and needed more flavor. The green curry at the highest spicy level was delicious. The chicken wings were super crispy. The drunken noodles needed some more veggies and was missing something that made them only good instead of great. Fried rice was meh. The kra pow was too salty. The Thai bbq chicken was not worth getting.

Diner Review №160

Best place to get wonton noodle soup!! Our favorite place, love that they close late at night. Never disappoints

Food was great and staff was so friendly and helpful

Diner Review №162

Nice place, the service was slow at first, but once you put the order in, everything comes really quickly. Everything was good, but the Best tasting soup ever.

Diner Review №164

Very nice restaurant.

Great food, open until mid night. Decent ambience.

Slow service, but over all great experience.

Diner Review №165

Good food and service. First time dining in, usually ordered from grubhub. We ordered joy luck club and egg noodle shrimp wonton.

Joy luck club has a misleading info. From their menu it is a crispy roasted half duck tossed with house garlic sauce and served on a bed of spinach, when it came to our table it is shredded duck but still tasted good. We also had our usual dessert, the banana caramel cheesecake egg roll with coconut and vanilla ice cream which was very delicious. All in all, we enjoyed our visit.

Diner Review №166

Comfort food and friendly staff.

Diner Review №168

Very poor service!

Diner Review №169

Good was decent but thet definitely need a staff change. One lady (with a cap on) was fast but the others were not. They has us waiting for 10 minutes just to bring the bill.

Diner Review №170

Very delicious options and very friendly service!

Diner Review №171

My favorite place in town for my go to dinners, great service, good price and portions. Get anything duck

Diner Review №174

Called in a quick order for pick up. First time enjoying this gem since it was midnight. Food was AMAZING!!! Didn't have time to post my food cause I ate it so fast.‍Well since this will not be the last time I eat here, I will share photos next time. Don't slip on this place if your looking for a late night spot for good eats.

Diner Review №175

Stop picking up late night fast food! The Asian Bistro in hillcrest has got the greatest selection of Asian flavors in the area; and they're open late! Has been a go to spot of mine for years, it's refreshing to find a spot that's open late and still provides quality food! With vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options available; there's something for everyone here. They also have the best Thai Tea I have ever had on one of the most extensive drink menu I've ever seen. The customer service has always been outstanding. They go above and beyond to make sure everyone that eats here is satisfied. So the next time you're looking for a great late night spot, be sure to give The Asian Bistro a try!

Diner Review №176

Wow. Is all I have to say. This is authentic and the most flavorful and complete Asian cuisine I have ever eaten in my life. You can tell how good a restaurant is when even the most simple dishes taste fantastic. The fried rice and egg drop soup were excellent and the honey walnut shrimp are amazing.

Chicken tastes like plastic

Diner Review №179

Okay food. Long wait to be seated. Very slow service time in general. Could be much better with some attention to details and instruction from management.

Diner Review №180

My wife and i love thai food this place has a bit of a fusion menu but the flavors really came through kudos to the chef. Our server Kat was very friendly and attentive. We will definitely go back.

Diner Review №181

Tasty food nice server.

Diner Review №182

Nothing is holding me back to say that this is the best Asian/Thai/Chinese restaurant not just San Diego but is also in my top 5 in the US. They have great vegetarian options in Appetizers, soups, Main course and desserts. I love the Cheesy Wontons, Gyoza and the Choco lava cake with Vanilla Ice cream and I do recommend trying them. The employees are warm and welcoming, and are really good at there job.
There can be difficulty finding parking at rush hours.

Diner Review №183

The food is beyond amazing. You cant go wrong with anything you order

Diner Review №184

Definitely worth a visit. Everything I tried was great

Diner Review №185

We did a full 3 courses all under recommendation by our Excellent server. The garlic edamame had a great sauce, our soups were great. We both had soups with roasted duck (mine was an addition) and you could still taste the flavor in it despite it being in broth. Dessert, tea, thai iced tea. It was all great and glad it was open late when so many things closed at 8 or 9. HIGHLY recommend for anyone wanting late night food, a date, or go by yourself and enjoy the menu. When in doubt you can trust their recommendations.

Diner Review №187

I love this restaurant because they have delicious food! They also have plenty of vegan and gluten free options which is great. My only problem with this place is that the estimations for when order will be ready is frequently inaccurate. I write this review as I wait for my order 35 mins after the estimated ready time…

Diner Review №188

The food was fantastic, and so flavorful! Chill environment too.

Diner Review №189

Although service was slow theyve updated their menu to include more veg options and they're delicious.

Diner Review №190

Slowest service ever

Diner Review №197

Being very hungry after 11.30pm in San Diego seems like survival quest. Was happy to find The Asian Bistro, which according to GoogleMaps and Yelp open till late, gave a call to double check, drove there 10 mins to only find out that in-room dining is closed, only possible to order take out. I teared up but ordered, been told the wait would be up to 20 mins, which started the longest wait for takeout food in my life. 45 minutes. I don't even wait for tables in a restaurants for so long. But the saddest thing of it all, Tom Kha Soup wasn't even good, not flavorful, not deliscious at all, how hard is it to make good Tom Kha? I cook it at home from the scratch, it is mindblowing, I'm not a chef. If your soup was yummy, I would probably forgive the unexplainable wait, but two strikes in one makes it worth to notice and address.
