The food is awesome. Excellent authentic taste. And fair amount for the cost. Waitress is nice. The restaurant is clean. Could be brighter....However, it's the location. Next to a run-downed, not so safe looking motel. None the less, it's worth coming back to. Again; and again; and again. It deserves a better location to match the food experience.
A Hidden Gem for Burmese Food in Buffalo
If you’re a fan of bold, spicy flavors, this hidden gem in Buffalo is a must-visit! From the moment you step in, the warm hospitality of the owner sets the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. Their recommendations were spot on, showcasing the authentic depth of Burmese cuisine.
The Shrimp Curry and Beef Curry were standouts, bursting with aromatic spices and perfectly balanced heat. Each dish felt like a labor of love, with layers of flavor that made every bite memorable. The spice level is not for the faint-hearted, but if you love a kick, you’ll be in heaven.
The cozy ambiance and personalized recommendations make this place feel like home, and the food will have you planning your next visit before you leave. Truly, if you’re in Buffalo and craving something unique, this is the spot to hit. A hidden gem indeed!
Went here last night with my boyfriend and I think this might be the best food I’ve ever eaten in my life! Not exaggerating! We’re both vegetarians and I was in the mood for Thai food and it all sounded so good I couldn’t decide what to get so we ordered an appetizer, soup, two entrees and a desert and shared everything. We got the crispy tofu as an appetizer and it was served with a delicious peanut sauce, we finished it so fast and were so hungry I forgot to take a picture. For our soup we got the Tom Yum Jay, there are no words I could use to describe how amazing it was, I wouldn’t be able to do it justice if I tried, it was so incredibly flavorful and a MUST TRY! Every time I try a new Thai restaurant I always get Thai Yellow Curry and Pad Thai, so that is what we ordered for our entrees. The curry was phenomenal, the perfect consistency and we got it vegetarian style so it was loaded with delicious veggies. 10/10 would try again. The noodles in the pad Thai were perfectly cooked, not mushy or hard, just right! (I would like to note that the Tofu Pad Thai is listed under vegetarian dishes but the description says it contains shrimp so we got it without shrimp or egg.) I got a Thai iced tea to drink with dinner and it was REALLY good, perfectly sweet and refreshing. Then we got the mango sticky rice for dessert, which they arranged in a heart shape on the plate, SO CUTE! I took one bite and said to my boyfriend, “I don’t know how to describe this other than eating this made me feel… SAFE?” Amazing. We took a few bites of everything and were full because we ordered so much food so took the rest home for later and ate it this morning, it was still delicious as leftovers! We will 100% be back and I can’t wait to try something new and enjoy more delicious food!
Also would like to add that our server was so sweet and helpful with accommodating our vegetarian requests. We didn’t get her name but thank you!!
This is the hidden gem of Buffalo's Thai and Burmese cuisine! You're sure to miss out if you judge this place by its location - it's inside the parking lot of a motel.
We walked in only to find that we were the only patrons in the establishment, but we were determined to give this place a chance, and we are so happy that we did. We ordered the chicken satay and shrimp tempura to start. For our mains, we had the shrimp curry and the pad prik phao. Both dishes impressed us so much that we ordered another round of them. We tried the beef curry and found that to be delicious as well.
The staff were very polite and the service was impeccable! We really enjoyed our dining experience at this place and highly recommend it to anyone who is craving some great Thai food or would like to experience some authentic Burmese cuisine.
Came here after a day at the falls and we had a wonderful experience. The food was amazing! We got the Seafood Tom Yum Soup (which my girlfriend loved and says that the seafood was very fresh) and the Goat Curry (was just a tad on the salty side but delicious).
ALSO the Thai Iced Tea was sooooo goooood!!
When we came in, it was pretty empty except for one table that was about to leave.
It is a family owned restaurant. Please come check this place out when you are in the area! I am so glad we stopped here for food and will be our go-to from here on out!

Great Authentic tasty food. Reasonable price.
Really good food-better than most Thai places in major cities. Family owned and run. So delicious
Food was good- ordered the Pad Kee Mao with Beef. The beef was mostly good except for a couple fatty pieces and the noodles were spot on. Would've like more veggies. The price you pay for the portion you get is just a bit lacking. Overall,a place I'd revisit
Amazing food! We were in Niagara Falls to celebrate July 04th and could not have asked for a better Thai food place. Very authentic and tasty. You should try their drunken noodles, pad Thai or basil fried rice. It was simply superb!
please don't go for vegan or Vegetarian food.
They don't know how to make it.
Owner is very very rude ,if you complain.
worst restaurant owner with zero star food rating.
Worst atmosphere.
Owner was extremely rude and shouted on me when i was talking very politely.
Also food was extremely poor and tasted pathetic.
Last but not least they have made Gratuity compulsory which is your choice but the did not agree to it.
Worst experience and I was TRAUMATISED my the owner.
Amazing food in a really unassuming spot. The food feels so homemade and made with love. Big glass of ice water is a plus.
We had the chicken wings, beef curry and seafood pad see ew.
Every thing was amazing. Would definitely go back
One of the best The best Thai food I have ever had, the Tom Yum soup, is so rich and flavorful.
The Tom yum soup was out of this world. Service and decor needs an update. This place should and can command more except the restaurant needs a makeover.
We ordered Burmese goat curry and it was AMAZING!!! We also ordered pad keema, red curry and mango sticky rice.. everything was great!
I don’t like service
A little hole-in-the-wall with really really delicious food. The prices aren't bad either. The green curry has a wonderfully complex flavor and it's spicy enough to be warming and flavorful without burning your face off. Very nice.
This Restaurant is a SCAM, the price on the bill doesn’t match with menu, and they have a mandatory 18% service fee added to the bill. WORST THAI RESTAURANT EVER. 👎👎👎
Went for dinner with my Mother last night. Got the Samosa, Shrimp Tempura, Tom Kha soup, and the chicken and pork belly Burmese curries. Everything was fantastic. The interior is tasteful and clean, and the service was great. Could be a good spot for a party. Im not sure but they might have a karaoke machine in there...
Fast and lasting food poisoning from the chicken Kong pao. Otherwise mediocre food and small portions for Thai food.
👍👍👍👍👍
👌
Awesomely great
Diamond in the rough. Attached to budget motel and nothing elegant, but the food was most excellent.
I was compelled to write my first review ever. My worst experience so far in the US. We told her that we are vegetarians and not to add any fish or oyster sauce. But still everything including soup, noodles and curry tasted like seafood. Also the lady was super rude. We went to Taco Bell after.
We had pad thai, pad kee mao, panang curry, fried tofu and the mango sticky rice. Everything is good and the pad thai is one of the best I’ve had!
Definitely one of the best restaurants I've been in! The food was very yummy! My family loved it,the noodle beef soup was definitely one of the best dishes I've eaten. The service was great! I would honestly go eat there again. Since I'm staying here to go to the Niagara falls so I would go eat there again. The noodle soup I ordered looked like it didn't have taste but it was great! That's why you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. It was great it has now become one of my favori restaurants/bars! Even though it's pretty far away from my house I love it! I know I've said that I love it alot of times but The food, service, drink and everything else was great!
Sende Soe was so nice. I would definitely recommend this place.
Environment is alright. There food is very very oily, extremely. Not diabetic friendly, nor kidney friendly if you have to watch your cholesterol or health . I swear they use way too much grease in there curry based dishes etc. We had there eggplant dish and goat curry with fried rice with shrimp and veg. The food was plenty but not much difference in flavor between the eggplant curry and goat curry mild to no flavor. I asked for very spicy or spicy and it was no where near spicy just very greasy. Spent too much there. price and food was not worth it. Would not really eat here again or recommend it. May try other things such as there Chinese dishes instead of the egg plant and goat curry. I feel they are not good with there own Burmese food but may be better with there Chinese dishes instead. As it looks more appealing in the reviews too (photo wise).
Food was bery delicious. Ordered the chicken pho, beef pho, Tom yum soup, and chicken fried rice. They were all so yummy. Very unassuming place from the outside but very nicely decorated and clean inside. The service was very nice. The young lady was friendly and patient while ordering.
Fresh great Thai! Food quality and taste overcomes and compensates the old atmosphere (it is very clean). Seems to be family ran, in a very good way!
Excellent thai food . Don't miss it if you are craving for Thai food around Niagara falls

This is not truly Burmese foods .Tastes are very salty & biryani color is so bad. After placing the order, it took over 1 hour to wait. I was so disappointed.Service is also bad .They are not control the customer.
It took them a whole hour to get our food ready. Cutlery and water refills were not provided on time either. Upon asking them, they told us that we have to wait since there were more tables ahead of us. Poor service. Would not recommend.
We were a party of 6 people and we were not informed that the food would take more than 40 minutes to be ready. We did not receive our food till almost a whole hour. We were not given water refills or any sort of cutlery either. I would not recommend for anyone to visit this place. If you do, please ask them if their timings would match with yours.
The food was very good and the service polite & direct.
Loved the Pork Belly Curry !
The food was great. We just waited a little long than we expected.
Super super super yum food
I would just say its finger licking
I tried goat curry and pad thai
Goat curry was extraordinary 🔥🔥🔥
Reminded my Indian flavours🤤😝
It has been 5 years since I've had fish curry.. and that was in India. On a whim I decided to try their fish curry.. we were on vacation so why not. The food was beyond amazing. Perfect flavors, absolutely fantastic. Very friendly staff. We did take out but the restaurant looked welcoming. Will definitely visit them again when we are in this area.
Me and my family went to the Mandalay Restaurant after a day at the Niagara Falls. The menu has an amazing choice of non-vegetarian and vegetarian food. We had the red curry, Pad Thai and eggplant curry as well as the glass noodle salad - all of it tasted amazing, very fresh, and good portion size. Service was also nice and friendly :-) Definitely recommend!
Best chicken pad Thai ever
My wife suggested it and it was a great choice, the Beriane was delicious. Loved the food
My boyfriend and I came here for lunch after a long day of shopping and we are so glad we found this spot! As we are both from Toronto, there are very limited restaurants that sell quality Pad Thai and Thai food in general. This restaurant exceeded my expectations and had one of the best pad thais and green curry I have ever had. When comparing this to high end restaurants in Toronto like Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai or Pai, the food here tastes even better. We can’t wait to come back and eat here again the next time we’re in Buffalo!
the best exotic restaurant in town
Came here after a day at the falls and we had a wonderful experience. The food was amazing! We got the Seafood Tom Yum Soup (which my girlfriend loved and says that the seafood was very fresh) and the Goat Curry (was just a tad on the salty side but delicious).
ALSO the Thai Iced Tea was sooooo goooood!!

What a gem in Niagara Falls. It's usually not too busy in Mandalay, so it's a nice place for a quiet meal. Reasonable prices, tasty Thai and Burmese food.
We ordered goat curry, pai Thai with chicken and shrimp, beef paka paw, pineapple boat. They were delicious. Highly recommended and will definitely go again very reasonable prices.
The food is outstanding. I have been going to Mandalay for a while now and have yet to receive a dish I didn't like.
The most delicious Asian food I’ve had in WNY
Love ❤️ 😍 💖 ❣️ fish curry & Patthai
On new year’s day
Customer service 0/5 the waitress doesn’t acknowledge when we say thank you or tell her to get something just remained quiet and walked away
Pad see ew 1/5 the meat was fresh but too salty
Spicy Tofu 0/5 spoiled tofu had food poisoning within minutes
Shrimp tempura 4/5 crispy but shrimp too soft
My husband and I visited after seeing this place on a top 10 places to eat in Niagara Falls. Mandalay did not disappoint. It was amazing! My husband got a spicy beef curry and I had pork biryani with a Thai iced tea. We had the ocean rolls to start with and they were deliciously fresh. Highly recommend Mandalay Restaurant!
Love the Burmese food here, you can’t go wrong with any of the curries & rice! They don’t use msg and everything tastes fresh. The mango on sticky rice is an excellent desert too. On our top 5 best of Buffalo list!
Family owned restaurant. Great food choices and reasonably priced. Tried the Pad kee mao(drunken noodles), chicken satay and basil fried rice. All good choices and would definitely recommend all three. Great place to eat, awesome service(respectful, patient and considerate) and good ambiance.
Delicious food, fresh ingredients, true seasonings of the culture. Ambiance is not the forte here but the food makes up for it. We nervously watched somebody cough with thick chest congestion over silverware as they wrapped the rolled pairs. Bugs in the curtains and windowsill we sat next to. Still can say the food tasted good and server was pleasant.
We got the pad Thai, chicken satay & pork spring rolls, they were delicious and had great sauce, the mango sticky rice is also amazing!
Food taste is very good…. Highly recommended for nearby people
Poor service from waitress, must be family owned business and the waitress must of been the owners kid. Food was good, a little pricey but not too bad.
We really loved the authentic Thai food and the great service
Papaya Salad!!
This restaurant was a great find in between all the fast food chains that line the roads in Niagara. Though the place looks a bit dated, the food is absolutely amazing - tastes just like it does in Thailand. They have a wide range of dishes too chose from, including plenty of vegetarian options - a rarity in these parts of the States. Prices are very reasonable too. If you are looking for a properly cooked meal in Niagara, look no further!
Food was ok
Amazing Thai food
Great experience. Loved the atmosphere, food, and the servers are super nice. Highly recommend especially to someone for a first time trying Burmese food.
Food is so good !! otherwise I would have given 3 stars for cleanliness!!
We visited this place for dinner. We ordered paratha, satay, a couple of soups and pad thai, All the dishes were fresh and flavorful. Would love to visit again when in the area.
Great place!! Very welcoming and well-decoeated, the food is very good too! I'm a pretty picky eater and they had lots of options and choices and everything was cooked very well. Would definitely come back :)
First time at Mandalay and enjoyed our meal and the iced coffee also.
We will definitely go back.
Great food. Usually quite quick with pick up times. Good portions..not huge but decent.
When you are in Niagara falls, you have to lower your expectations on food choices if you are from a big city. After having burgers and fries on our road trip. We were looking to have something flavourful.
When we got there we were the only people in the restaurant. That scared the hell out of me. It's a family run Burmese restaurant serves Thai and few Indian dishes. I usually don't like when restaurants try to serve few different cousins. Usually nothing comes out good. But surprisingly food was good. Friendly staff. MJ was very efficient. Food came out fast. But place is dark. Black table clothes makes it even darker. But you will leave there tummy full.
Great casual spot for Thai food. Vegetarian options were great.
I give 5 stars for the hospitality and most of for the taste of the food. My two friends and I ordered Crispy tofu, beef curry, chicken wings and seafood tom yum.
All are good, nothing failed. But, then again, I have some input for the chef :
1. Tom yum soup, should make it even hotter, like really hot when being served.
2. Beef curry, should make it more spicy, as I ask for spicy. But the chopped chillies help tho.
Overall, two thumbs up !!!
We went to Mandalay restaurant after our visit to the falls.
We tried their tea leaf salad, papaya salad and fish curry. All dishes tasted like homemade food that was prepared with lots of care. Our server told us that the fermented tea leaves (lahpet) were indeed made by their own auntie. It was a perfect combination of fresh, savoury and crunchy all in one plate.
Service was also great. The restaurant was run by what seems to be a small family, it was very cute.
I have had better
The atmosphere just isn't here
This place needs revamping to
Many restaurants have failed at this location don't think this one will make it either
Great food but when getting takeout, double check your order. We got pork instead of vegetable.
Liked the place, the good was good. Enjoyed my lunch. Has good options. The quality is also very good.
Awesome, appreciate something new every time i come and am never disappointed!
Great food served by great people. The chicken panang curry was so gnarly, I had to get seconds. Best Thai food I've had in awhile!
Friendly casual atmosphere but what impressed my friends and I was the quality of food. You would never know it was so good from there unassuming exterior. We ordered several dishes because we wanted leftovers. The tempura vegetables blew us away! 😋 Next time I will try the soup 🥣
The food and service was exceptional.Thank you.We will definitely be back.
Came for an early dinner at around 4, was met with hospitable service and promptly seated right away. First thing I have to mention is I started with the iced coffee, absolutely incredible. Deep and sweet, hit all the right notes. Awesome food too, teetering on 4.5 stars because of the price / portion size ratio. But the quality and freshness really makes up for it. Started with the Ocean Roll, a mix of crisp and chewy textures with seafood flavors that I really enjoyed thoroughly. My entree was the seafood Pad Kee Mao, the flavor of the fresh seafood and sear from the wok combined with the wide noodles was easily one of the best noodle dishes I've ever tried in the falls. Good to the point where I forgot about the world around me and entered a sort of noodle-nirvana, before I knew it my plate was empty and I was ordering desert. The mango sticky rice was fresh and a combination of flavors that I didn't even know I enjoyed together. The entire experience, while being slightly expensive; is highly recommendable.
Good food and friendly service.
We were looking for a Korean restaurant but was closed and so we decided to stop at Mandalay after seeing the good reviews. Glad we did! Food was amazing, service was excellent, place was clean. The lady even gave me a handful of guava candies when I requested only for one :)
I highly recommend. Would definitely go back there on my next visit to the US.
Food was awesome. Younger waitress seemed miserable, like any average teenager. However, the older woman who helped us at the beginning was pleasant.
Great food and nice staff.
Food was delicious
Food tastes really good without the extra thick sauce associated with Pad Thai. Iced Coffee tastes like Battambang Iced Coffee of my Cambodian grandmother. It’s been a long time since someone made this kind of Iced Coffee. I’m glad I found this place after visiting Niagra State Park.
Decided to give this restaurant a try based off of the 4 star reviews. Overall a decent experience, really nothing to brag about nor would I return. We were the only table in there for dinner on a Sunday. The service was provided by a younger female who just didn’t seem to want to bother to provide actual customer service. Probably daughter or granddaughter of owners. Set down the menus without saying anything. No greeting, didn’t ask for drink order, kept walking away while we were trying to order food. Food was done well but again, nothing spectacular. Portions were single portions instead of the traditional sharing-portions for Asian cuisine. Crispy pork was listed as a specialty but was cut small which caused it to dry out. Fish curry, the fish was moist and cooked well but curry sauce was underwhelming. Chicken satay was dry and tasteless unfortunately. If the service was better I would probably give other menu items a go, but unfortunately the service ruined the dining experience. I have worked in the restaurant industry for over 10 years and I will tell you that if you trained your workers better and taught them the important of service and hospitality, you will probably get more customers through the door.
I selected some typical dishes as a way to gauge the overall experience. In my opinion, the food is good. Nothing to spectacular to write home, but it does taste good and it is satisfying. However, the service is lacking. It feels like there is only one server trying toanage several tables at once. She has forgotten my drink order and did not note down the modification to a dish. Thankfully she was able to rectify the modded dish. If there was someone else to ease the burden, then that may have helped.
Overall, the food is good, but the service could be better.
Very good thai food!
The food was delicious!!
Quite authentic Burmese and Thai food - lots of flavors. If we lived closer, it would be one of our regular places
You would think this random side of the road spot would be a little frightening, you’ll be wrong. The food is incredibly well prepared. The services phenomenal and the people are the best
Stopped here while visiting Niagara Falls and it’s a welcome respite from all the tourist food near the falls. We had the papaya salad and the chicken curry with coconut rice. It was all good. The green papaya was fresh and crisp and the chicken falls off the bone.
The server didn’t ask us what to drink but give us the ice water. Then give us the chicken wings without plates:(
Not bad, would go back! Very caramely tasting Thai tea! Wasn't big on the Pattaya rice dish. Soups where outstanding.
Ordered takeout, was told it will be ready in 30 minutes, waited an hour and a half for the food at the restaurant
Only one waitress to service the entire place, so did not complain about waiting, thinking the food will be good
Drunken noodles were dry and uncooked, Panama curry had barely any salt, but was ok in taste
Overall experience was not good
We were finally seated after waiting for someone to come to the entrance 10 minutes and after another 30 minutes we left after not even having been offered water or seen a single server in the dining area. If they didn't have enough staff to serve people they should state that, rather than seating you and wasting 45 minutes of my family's time.
We came to this place strictly because of the other reviews and needless to say we were not let down. Started with with Chicken Satay with peanut sauce as a appetizer and for our main course I had the Seafood Drunkin Rice and my better half had the Curry Chicken and coconut rice!! All 3 were absolutely amazing!! If you’re in the Niagara Falls area… this is a gem you don’t want to miss!!! Only downfall was not a big bar selection but the food more than made up for it!!
Service is worst I would say. It was a pick up order. When We reached at our hotel and started having our dinner, we found out one order was Missing. Called them ...they asked us to get everything back so that they can check. Ordered Panang curry which had no taste and was not freshly made. I would never ever visit this place again.
Great!
Do not go here if you want vegetarian food. The food quality was worst and tasted like left overs and had no taste whatsoever. The service was horrible as well. The server was on the computer most of the times with head phones on and we had to go over and call her if we needed anything. If you have money to waste I would still not waste it at this place.
Under new management from a few years ago and is great now. Awesome food!
A great Kao Paoh Chicken. Probably need to clean the place up a little.
Bland food the Thai iced tea taste like a dessert instead of what it should be. Very greasey too
Everything is delicious. Restaurant has a somewhat wet odour. Pretty common for most buildings and houses in New York during Winter. Recommend eating here you will not be disappointed.
The food here was great! We tried as much as possible- from calamari and ocean rolls for appetizers to coconut soup and tofu pad tai for dinner. Everything was fresh and exceptional. We even tried a couple of desserts- sticky rice with mango. Yum! Be adventurous. It’s worth it. And don’t judge this restaurant based on the exterior hotel it’s attached to. It was upsetting to see it was not busier on a Saturday night. We are lucky to still have local restaurants like this and we need to start supporting them better!
Horrible chef behavior. I specifically mentioned to make my Pad thai vegetarian and not to add any meat or fish. It obviously smelled of fish and the restaurant didn’t replace my order, exchange for another dish or cancel that order. Instead, they charged me for it.
Also, quantity is served a little less to add to the situation.
In my bill its funny that they have written no shrimp for Pad thai, they still put in it and the chef completely ignored their mistake. I will never go again, and if all the restaurants are close and I have to go there, I will definitely not order the dish.
Was really surprised that this place wasn't busy when i went there. The name of the restaurant speaks for itself as the food is really authentic and delicious.
I'm determined to try everything on the menu. It's all been delicious so far! The Thai Ice tea is the best...Try one!
The dim lighting and quiet atmosphere were very nice for us to enjoy our meals, and the meals were excellent. We had an extra spicy papaya salad for our appetizer and it was delicious. I had Pattaya fried rice, and the egg wrapped around the dish was cooked perfectly and wrapped flawlessly. My gf had Pad Kee Mao and that was also delicious and cooked well. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone in the Niagara Area looking for good Thai food. We will definitely be going back to try the Burmese dishes asnwlel.
Their food is just amazing , i have tried their dynamite prawns, spring rolls, prawns spring rolls and fish cakes. Everything was well packed and delicious in taste. Must order from them as per your comfort in your area.
Always great food and reasonable prices. This food has way more flavor than takeout Asian restaurants. Friendly staff too.
This is the first time I have tried any Thai food and I am happy that it ended up to a good experience. I got a chance to order from a newly opened restaurant @mandalaythai and tried few of their dishes.
I tried:
Dynamite Prawns
Red Thai Curry
Vegetable Fried rice
Prawn Crackers
The taste was good enough to fulfill my asian taste buds and I would say dynamite prawns were the show stopper for me.
The food was freshly made which is highly recommended in seafood. The packaging was done properly to avoid any mess till the food is delivered.
If you are a Thai food lover or even like to try new cuisines then you should definitely give this place a try.
Overall Verdict: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thank you so much for the great Thai Food experience.
Loved that Mango Sticky Rice!!!
Always have thoroughly enjoyed the food! Highly recommend the tofu pad thai. A Niagara Falls gem.
Just stopped by for lunch, just like I did within the past week. (I'm a regular.) The "Open" sign is on and the hours are posted it should have been open for hours. Door is locked, lights are off, and calls go to a generic voicemail.
I guess they're out of business. I'll have to cross them off my list of restaurants to consider.
Great food, reasonable price
Absolutely loved the food! They have good quality food and good portions as well.
I 100% reccomend to get the mango rice
Didn't get to dine in but overall the restaurant is good. Customer service was great, food taste can be better and improvement on the sauce. The food is of decent price in relation to the quality. Will add more on a second visit but for now I would leave it at a 3star.
Great food! Plenty of options. Perfect portion size and by that I mean I still couldn't quite finish it all. Lovely staff.
