What a wonderful addition to the OB dining scene. We experienced Social Thai Kitchen in their dining room for dinner service (there is a good amount of patio seating if you like to enjoy the weather). Staff was extremely welcoming and friendly, and they were very attentive throughout our meal. We ordered a green tea and Thai iced coffee for beverages and for meals ordered pra ram with tofu & white rice as well as some sweet sausage fried rice. The pra ram was made to order in terms of level of spiciness and was served with a rich and flavorful peanut sauce and just the right amount of broccoli, carrots, and spinach. The sweet sausage fried rice was just how you'd get it in southeast asia. Sweet, spicy, and rich in flavor. Ambiance and decor is very calm and soothing. Overall we had a great experience dining and will be back in the future.

We had a great experience visiting sunset cliff with this amazing delicious Thai food. We ordered yellow curry, tomyun soup, orange chicken, chicken wings etc. everything is good. And very nice servers.

This Thai restaurant changed owners not long ago and the place is much improved. I still found the dishes to be a bit dry and not spectacular.

Amazing food and super nice staff highly recommend. Also they were able to make my noodle soup gluten free which was awesome so great gluten free options.

The food is so disappointing here. I was really hoping that when they opened it would be really good so I didn’t have to drive to the other side of town to Pure Thai for good Thai food. The fresh spring rolls are stuffed with giant pieces of Romain lettuce and little to NO protein and no rice noodles at all, and they give you one tiny side of peanut sauce not nearly enough to eat oversized and unappealing globs of lettuce with nothing. The cream cheese triangles and or Rangoon’s, didn’t even know those could be so bland and disappointing. They really need to try better….. I doubt this place lasts long unless they focus on making better food.

Very good food but they need a lunch special.

This was a little of a hard one to write. The food was good, the atmosphere was good, and the price was good. The waitress was friendly but a little lazy. She didn't want to split our bill so it created chaos with the group. It seemed as though she may have been more concerned about her convenience. When they say they can't it isn't accurate and somewhat dishonest. Anyone can print those out separately. They may not want to but they can! Overall positive experience and I would come back again.

This place is one of my favorite Thai spots. We keep coming back. Highly recommended!

We have been to Thai Social now twice, and the food is delishious, the first time we had beef drunken noodles and mixed yellow curry and shrimp wrapped in wrapper these were simple and nice size shrimp very tender and succulent with a chili dipping sauce, this is a very nice appitizer all where very good, the second time we had the pad Thai chicken and it to was very good, we also had the won ton soup, the soup was delishious except the won ton wrapper was a little pasty I think they made the wrapper with flour? Instead of corn starch, this won ton soup is delishious full of Won ton's and vegtables, peppers we got 6-7 and it was nice and spicy its a meal in its self! The wrapper of the won ton is just weird, staff are very nice, and attentive the resturant it self is very clean, very nicely decorated and cozy, not a loud resturant, it's warm and cozy, I am very happy we can walk to this Thai restaurant. We will be back

SO GOOD! I switched from another local Thai spot and fell in love with Social Thai. Really good noodles and curries, love the chicken satay and egg rolls as well.

We tried the Moon puffs, summer rolls, and Pad Thai with chicken. All very good quality Thai.

I've finally found a local restaurant that truly hits the spot!

The chicken summer rolls were refreshing, with vegetables and chicken, paired with peanut sauce.

The chicken Pad See Ew was a standout, with its flat noodles, chicken and fresh vegetables, all coated in a deliciously sauce. My wife and I fought over who would get the bigger portion.

The Thai fried rice was another highlight, offering seasoned rice, chicken and vegetables.

Then the yellow curry. Its rich sauce and potatoes, were exactly what I wanted it to be.

Social Thai will be a go-to spot for my Thai fix. I'm happy to have found such a gem in the neighborhood. The food is consistently excellent.

This is my neighbors restaurant! And it is delicious!

We noticed they have a separate entrance for take out which is very smart. It allows for more traffic to flow through the restaurant. The patrons are not bottlenecking that the front of the restaurant.

Best Crab Rangoons I’ve ever had! FULL OF FILLING. YUM!

The waiter was really nice and the food was great! Really recommend the mango sticky rice and the chicken satay, the sauces were really good. Thai tea is also one of my favorites.

The waitress brought our food out at different times. I was the last one to receive my food after my friends had been eating for about 10 minutes. Very strange. I sat and watched my friends eat while waiting for my food. Won’t go back.

My new favorite Thai spot. Panang curry 6/10 level spicy on point. Right amount of sweetness. Price is average if not less than. Rice was great. Nice counter girl who offered utensils. Definitely coming back

Great place, very clean. Good service. I lived in Thailand for 8 years and the food here was as authentic as you can get in the States. Delicious, with a good presentation.

Was walking by seen the restaurant & was excited to try it before even going in the worker there didn't look like she was even happy to be there very mopey but thought well maybe she's having a bad day so we walked in anyways sat down started off with a Thai tea it was terrible not very flavorful like ones I'm used to back home we had eaten dinner earlier and basically just stopped in to eat dessert because we like mango and sticky rice the plate came out as eating it mangoes very bitter sauce on it was extremely runny & nasty I was choking it down to be nice at every bite I felt like I was going to vomit so had to bury it with a napkin everybody seem pleasant but one lady I always say running a business even when you're having a bad day you should always keep a smile on your face. For myself and working for the health department I would say try to be a little bit more friendly and please take a better look at your food before serving it.

During my vacation here in Oceanside we have had amazing visits. But this. We weren’t greeted in a kind manner. The lady with a bob haircut called “ patty “ was very cold shouldered and distanced. I ordered an app and a drink because we have been restaurant hopping apparently to her standard was not enough food. When it came time to pay I handed her a card to which she gave a raised eye brow snarky comment. Save your self the energy and money.

Thai tea was unsweet just like patty. My crab puff was okay I guess. My husband got mango and sticky rice which was salty again like patty.

To sum it up very poor experience.

I am huge thai food fan, and a huge fan of this restaurant. I couldn’t be happier that they opened up in Ocean Beach. I will add another review with photos but it was so good I forgot to snap a few. I ordered the panang curry, pad thai, crab Rangoon and the spicy fried. Everything was excellent, best pad thai I have had in a long time. The portions are great and the service is on point and was ready within 15 mins of ordering. They renovated inside, so it’s really clean and well put together. I’ve ordered from them every weekend and keep trying new dishes. Haven’t been dissapointed yet. I love the panang, eggplant entree, their soups are fire and the mango sticky rice was to die for. Very very very impressed with this place!

Beautiful new restaurant. Atmosphere very quiet at a Wednesday lunch. Maybe some background music would be good. The service was impeccable and the food was absolutely fantastic. We were a group of six and we all loved our food. I had drunken noodles with shrimp, delicious. Thank you.

Nice place, clean, nice people

We ordered social Thai for takeout for the first time recently. We were blown away by the quality and taste of everything we ordered. We will definitely be heading there to try their dine in service soon.

At 830 pm I poked my head inside and asked if the dining room was still open. I was told yes. Upon learning that I would be dining alone, they quickly changed their minds and told me I could only get take out. I wouldn't recommend patronizing this establishment during their last hour of operation, and honestly I won't be patronizing it ever. It was very offensive and rude behavior.

This is solid Thai food but beware of spice level! I’ve been here a few times and have gotten the pad Thai, pad see ew, panang, and wontons. I usually get medium at other places. The mild here is sometimes a medium level or more. Spice levels are not consistent nor typical but good food.

Thai food that needs salt and a side of chilli, not good. I've been twice since it opened second time in hope the first time was a blip..nope.. Avocado curry was next to not heat at 5/10 and needed salt and chilli and then green curry at 7/10 was also bland and tasteless..need an authentic thai chef..service ok..took far to long for standard curry and satay sticks..nice decore inside..kind of doesn't match the cuisine..sorry won't be back..

Food was great, but very expensive. Hard to justify spending $19 on chicken pad thai.

The service is outstanding, the restaurant is clean and beautiful. The food was fantastic, especially the mango sticky rice, which is my favorite dessert and is prepared exceptionally well at this establishment! I'll definitely return since it's conveniently located next to my house.

Here, I have had several entrées: tom kha, vegetable delight, green curry, yellow curry and brown rice; I am thoroughly impressed with each to say the least. I would recommend this restaurant to my closest friends.

Food and service is amazing. The decor is very classy. Highly recommend the pad Thai. This might be my favorite Thai restaurant in SD.
