Established in 2003.
Since the beginning, Thai Spice has been a family owned establishment. Our family is very proud to serve Authentic Thai cuisine using only the freshest ingredients to create healthy and tasteful dish. We graciously thank you for embracing our food and culture.
Although Thai Spice is small, the decore shows enough attention to detail to help transport you somewhere more exotic.
And that care translates to the food. I had a Bangkok Chicken app (pictured) and the duck drunken noodle special. Both were delicious!
The thai iced tea and sticky rice with mango are highly recommended as well. Great meal Thai Spice, thanks!
I came in with my family after flying in. The food was delicious and cooked perfectly- the crispy wings had a delightful crunch and an amazing sauce, the curries were rich, and my Pad See Ew was properly spicy- to the point that I had tears in my eyes, which is a mark of great Thai food!
The space was small and cozy, with smooth jazz playing over the speakers. It was a little loud, but that's a minor gripe.
Also, our server was amazing and accommodating of our requests. She also managed to run the space as it got more and more busy. I'll have to come back before I leave to take some home!
I’m a huge Thai food enthusiast and regularly try restaurants across the country. Thai Spice is hands down my favorite in terms of the taste and quality of the food. I’ve been coming for 15 years. Best fresh spring rolls and basil chicken. Everything on the menu is delicious. The service is not what it used to be but for the food, I can overlook it. Great place and to go for a casual meal with friends and family.
Thai Spice is a family-owned restaurant that provides superb flavor and a welcoming environment at a great value. Dine-in to maximize the freshness of your experience. We had a great experience and will be coming back with friends and family!
We arrived at opening time to eat in for dinner and were seated immediately. The servers were courteous, cheerful, and attentive with water refills. The decor is warm and classic, and the dining area is kept clean. Prices are very reasonable. For appetizers, the curry puffs had a thin crispy wrapping with a delicious moist filling. Tofu satay had a great crispy edges and was wonderfully seasoned. The peanut sauce is flavorful, but not oily or thick like some other places. Everything was clearly cooked to order and brought to the table immediately. The yellow curry was rich, full of flavor, and came with a very generous portion of chicken. The seafood was also cooked perfectly. Dishes here are marked by deep delicious flavor. Dinner portions are healthy and filling. Order some of their delicious appetizers while you wait for your entree. Perhaps my only nitpick was that the door was left open and the dining room got quite warm without A/C. Two apps, one curry, and a seafood entree with two orders of steamed rice totalled around sixty dollars.
I want to preface this by saying I’ve been coming here for YEARS. I usually get the crab fried rice which is realllly good. However, today I wanted to try something different. I ordered drunken duck noodles togo. I was told 30min it’s, but it ended up being more like an hour :(. On top of that, I paid $18 for this meal, and just….just look at the picture. Idk if they were just rushing or cutting back, but I’m sad my food had so little duck. So many noodles. I guess I’ll be taking a break from this place for a bit :/

The food is so delicious! I have been out of the area for a number of years but about 10 years ago I had the pleasure of enjoying a few lunches here and had forgotten just how nice of an experience Thai Spice is. We ordered 3 different soups Tom ka ga, Tom ka tofu, chicken noodle and the Basil catfish. The Tom ka soups are a bit more authentic than the other 2 places in El Sob. It's really nice to have Galangal root in the soups (it is very good for health) & I love the flavor with the lemongrass etc. They cook catfish in at least 3 flavors & the Basil was light and fresh. Not overly heavy in the sauce department with delicate fresh flavors of onion, bell pepper & Basil etc. I really enjoyed the experience and look forward to further cuisine adventures here in the near future.

Stop by often for lunch. My favorite is #28: yellow red curry pumpkin see food.
Hands down the best pad Thai in the north east bay region. I had a pad Thai phase this month and ate it every day lol this lead me to try the pad Thai at every Thai spot place from rodeo down to el
Sobrante and Thai Spice takes the prize! Their service was always great, priced well, and tastes the best!!

The food was just ok. First time, probably won't go back, there are other, better thai food restaurants.
We have been long time customers. We placed an order for a vegan dish same order we have always placed. They made it wrong and then argued with us about it. We have never ordered anything else
We had a wonderful lunch here. The crab fried rice and egg noodles with duck were delicious! The average dish is $12-15. Located in a strip mall, the parking lot is shared with 5 other small businesses. It is a bit of a wait, but this is because everything is made fresh!
My 77 year old dad placed an order when he received the order he noticed the ribs were not what he expected and to much fat no meat on the ribs they are described more as baby riblets and I felt like my dad who has dementia was treated poorly and was taking advantage of he ask can he exchange the food for something else or a refund the owner was extremely rude and didn’t care about the customer wishes we were patient and respectful I had to call the police it was a disaster I would never recommend this place ever the food is disgusting as well police came did absolutely nothing no signs stating no refunds AT ALL ! Please trust me save your money they said no one can get a refund and lastly we are African American so you get it Discrimination totally ! By the the meat stink like dog shi… I swear they should check to see if it’s really ribs.

My first time here. The service and food was perfect. I had sliced chicken over spinach with peanut sauce ans savored every bite. I will definitely go back.
Great food!
Soups are delicious!
The food! omg, love their pescetarian-vegetarian options! service is great too!
This place has definitely improved over the years! The cook(s) are very good. The service is awesome. Best Thai restaurant in west Contra Costa county and Pinole!
I recommend the masamman beef, the green curry, pumpkin curry, angel wings, and their fresh spring rolls are the best I’ve had anywhere.
I highly recommend you give this place a visit if you enjoy Thai food
It was hard finding a Thai place in the upper East Bay I actually enjoyed. Their flavors are excellent, but dish sizes are smaller. I went during lunch time, but asked for a dinner size portion to share with 1 other person so they easily accommodated. The waiter was probably one of the best, most hospitable people I have come across in the restaurant industry.
Great food and great people
We ordered pork and got chicken instead. Also think it’s ridiculous that meals don’t come with the rice!
My Hercules family always takes me here for special occasions and simply just because. The food is that good! Service for dinner on a Saturday night Nov 4 was exceptional! Only waitress working on a full and busy Saturday night. Displayed grace, no stress and had it all under control. Bravo!
The red curry is our favorite. You can get it with chicken or beef. So yummy.
This place has great food and great customer service. I thought some of the foods might be too spicy for my family but it was just perfect. Will go back soon.
The food was delicious and the service was awesome
Order the special (real crab fried rice). It was good but not seasoned very well.
The workers were very friendly and the place was quick to make my food. With in 8 min for my 2 orders or soup and spring rolls and side of rice
The girl who served us today FORCED ME to give her a tip and i said no and she STILL FORCED TO CHARGE IT AUTOMATICALLY.Dont come here to eat unless u wanna be FORCED to pay a tip for a service that sucks.SHAME on this store.
Unbelievably good Thai food, Tea was delicious, food was so flavorful, service was kind and hard working!
My favorite Thai spot in Pinole. Consistently good since atleast 2008
Most friendly staff members, always cheerful.
The air conditioner was broke, and it was over 90 degrees inside, so I couldn't stay.
So many exquisite dishes it's hard to go wrong with this Tasty Thai gem of a restaurant. Everyone is always so nice and welcoming, simply beautiful ❤️ people. The woman who greeted me this evening with a "your tall" I'm fairly certain has been there over ten years and has not aged a day since I first met her. Anyway perhaps this food is the key to staying young???
Love the food
Super busy on Mother's Day. That's to be expected though with how scrumptious this food is. Got there at the original quoted time for my online order, but it wasn't ready. The front of house staff was very apologetic and communicative on how long before my order would be ready. I also got a complimentary Thai tea which was so good. I feel bad on how much work the staff had to endure, but they kept a positive attitude and handled orders that were coming in, doing with physical guests that wanted to dine in as well.
Nice local place that really shines. Even in times of added stress.
After you order your food, you get a little cup of porridge to eat. How nice.
My go to Thai restaurant! The food is so so good!!! Staff was friendly during my experiences :) Lunch prices are affordable!
The lady that works there had the nerve to tell me “ You came here twice and you don’t leave a tip” I responded with “I'm a struggling mom.” Me dining out is rare but a luxury from time to time. Not knowing my circumstances or those of others she expects to be tipped all the time. Very mean and unprofessional of her to say and in front of customers. Never giving them any service again or my hard earned money.
My fave Thai restaurant of all time!! I miss Cindy and Jack, they’re the best, don’t settle for less!
I was not really impressed. The other two people I was with really enjoyed their meals though.
Absolutely amazing food and service! been eating here for years and this place has left me satisfied every time.
Tasty meals
Great Thai food, really likes it
It was ok. Food was dry and sauces were served in little tablespoon size dishes.
I love this place. I don't eat here enough! So far everything thing that I have eaten, the flavor is on point!
Good Thai food.
Impressed with the fish cakes.
There are many dishes I still need to try.
I was taken there by friends and I need time to familiarize myself with the menu.
I will update my experience when I return from future visits.
Best Thai in the area!
Best in the bay basil catfish sauce would be good on a shoe.
The pad thai is one of the best I've had
Muy rica la comida, buen sabor
Absolutely the best Pad Thai ever! Amazing!
Ammmaaazzziiinnnngggg food😋😋😋 I will be coming back. I got the curry puff for an appetizer and for food I got the Pad Thai and the Red Pumpkin Curry both with chicken. If you're in the area and like the perfect combo of creamy with spice for the red curry it is seriously worth a shot its my new personal favorite😋😊
Tried the Green Curry Chicken. It was fantastic!
Kasoy is so rich in flavor. Angel stuffed wings and egg rolls are crispy and fresh. Chicken pho could be improved.
Always wonderful food.
Foods okay, but the customer service is horrible. Significantly worse when ordering through the door dash app. They must not know that some people picking up door dash are actually the customers so if you’re looking to eat here I’d stay away from online orders as they put no effort into completing them in a timely manner.
We've ordered from them before and love the food but I ABSOLUTELY HATE the ordering platform and will NOT be ordering from them again unless it changes. We used to be able to call up there and place our order.... now they have an answering service that takes their orders which was a horrible experience! They don't know the menu or the options, they had to keep putting me on hold to check and confirm menu items.... they were telling me i couldn't add tofu (which i do every other time I've ordered food). I finally hung up after it took over 20 minutes trying to place my order. I kept trying to find a direct number but it just kept giving me a busy signal.
I then decided to order on door dash for pick up..... NOTHING i ordered was correct!! Everything I wrote in the options category was completely ignored and we didn't even eat the food once we got it and I spent over $70 for the food! This was an absolutely horrible experience.... guess I gotta find a new Thai spot.
I hope they see my review and go back to answering the phone and taking the orders themselves
Great rolls, i loved the ambiance and the staff was awesome.
Really good pumpkin curry. Staff friendly.
Best yellow curry in town I cannot get enough of it always go here for my Curry
Need a Vax card to eat
Order took longer but caught them in their busy time food quality good as always
Best curry dishes, I've had in a very long time
Favorite Thai food in the area . Always good and fresh .
My very 1st visit I wanted to love this place so bad but customer service it EVERYTHING to me. I seen spring rolls on their site so I ordered them didn't know the difference between "fresh spring roll" or "regular fried spring roll " very confusing to a "new" customer and when I say new I mean new to eating Thai Food as well... The lady told me I ordered wrong and it was nothing she could do being I ordered it keep in mind I'm new to this... So here I am stuck with something I don't want and not going to eat (wasted money)she advised me to repurchase them and ask for fried... TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!
Not the quality it used to be . Maybe cook changed recently
Great food. Quick service. They were very busy the entire time we ate there, but the food didn't take long and the service was excellent
Great food, service, Definitely will return..
Waited 50 mins to get our food
Bad service walked in to order take out they ignored me. Stood there for over 10 minutes till they finally approached me. Ordered 2 items took more than half hour to prepare. No line when I arrived. Couple who walked in to dine in after me got served food ahead of me. I complained and said Im not coming here again. I dont recommend going there.
Delicious food. A lot of choices.Great service. They are take out only now, but when they re open they have nice decor in a cozy setting.
Always such good food. Best place for thai
Yum Woosen with shrimp is my favorite dish here. We have been dining here since 2010. This is probably the best Thai food in East Bay.
By far some of the best Thai food around. Yummy
I've been coming to Thai Spice forever. Some of the best Thai food in the area!
Staff is friendly and accommodating as well.
Sawasdee! If you are jonesing for some Thai food this joint is not going to fail you. We ordered a variety of dishes and they were all so delicious. I am a fan of their eggplant dish and papaya salad.
Love this place. Food is really good.
Spring rolls were amazing! (Not to mention the peanut sauce). Not a fan of the Pad Thai, too sweet for my taste. Nevertheless, tasty, elegant and well portioned. Enjoy!
Very good tasty food. They make it good and spicy if you request it. All the ingredients taste very fresh.
Best local Thai restaurant and so soooooo good. Family owned and you can taste the love in their food! Also best Thai Iced Tea!!!
We live this place! Especially the yellow curry!!
Besides mexican food, thai is my second favorite. This place is off the charts! Would recommend.
Lovely service, great food :)
Fantastic food as always!
We go here all the time. A great food option of few in Hercules. The duck options are very good. Broad menu with lots of vegetarian options as well.
Great food and Great service.
The dinner servings are not worth it. Go for lunch only if you want to try. Don't go for dinner. Don't order the duck, because it doesn't look like duck.
We enjoyed Thai Spice. The food was tasty and satisfying. For our family of 3, the portion size was just right when we ordered one Curry and one noodle dish and a portion of white rice.
Good food, fast and friendly service.
Nice small place for a quick date
Truly incredible Thai food. Consistently delicious!
Solid Thai food in the heart of Pinole Valley
I love Thai Spice!! Great food and great staff ♥️♥️
Good. Felt at home eating here
My food was very oily I had a take out order small Portions and I forgot my rice for my duck
Special pork ribs were tuff, green curry seemed old chicken was chewy and fresh spring rolls wrappers were not fresh. Had not been to this place in a couple of months now I remember WHY! Won't make that mistake again.
Best Thai restaurant in the east bay. Hand down
Great tasting food, nice portions.
Thai Spice is always good The Waitresses are always courteous and on time and they're very helpful with what to order
Good food great service.
The most fantastic food every time I come up here it's the only place I eat at
My favorite Thai place.
Good food, good service
Consistently great Thai cuisine.
Some of the most authentic Thai food I've ever had. I feel bad for not discovering it sooner!
Excellent service and food was delicious. If you're craving good thai food, check this place out. The combo appetizer plate is great!
Awesome service, with smiles....and DELICIOUS Thai food.
Delicious food!!
Great food. Great service
Good Thai food with excellent service.
All the dishes we tried during our dinner hit the mark. The pumpkin curry and the mushroom in pepper sauce (#65) we’re the right temperate, cook and spice. The dessert — fried banana with the coconut ice cream was delicious and a good end to the night. Unfortunately, the service was a little slow since it was busy with only one server. However, the ambiance and lighting made it a comfortable atmosphere during long wait times. Would definitely recommend going for the food!
Nice Thai food. Quick service.
Wonderful
Really great food and service with a smile!
Family-owned local business more than worth visit after visit! Nam kao is part of every order for me but their menu has so much goodness to experience, and the service - whether eating in or picking up to go - is great!
Good fresh food! 😊
