Was my first time going to this Thai restaurant. Was very delicious. Portions were very generous, and the prices were as well. Tried the Padd Pedd Roasted Duck with bamboo medium spicy. It was very flavorful and the duck was very delicious as well. Will definitely come back again to try other plates.
The food was amazing. Came here with my husband and two children and we tasted a little bit of everything and ended our meal with the most delicious mango sticky rice and leftovers to bring home! We will be back!
The buffet was a nice change from what I've had at typical thai restaurants. There were a good number of people to eat it. I want to say personally the pad thai, curry, etc. were all on the overly sweet side which was not something I'm personally crazy about. But I will say it's nice to try 3 different curries, some meat dishes and salad. I am sad I couldn't get their buffet this week as they didn't offer it, but maybe I'll luck out next week and get it 😅.
The atmosphere is a bit dimly lit inside and old a tad dingy atmosphere, the water is tap which is a bummer. Overall the food isn't bad, I'd get take out or eat in again.
Went here for my Dad's Bday. He loves yum salad cause of how spicy it is. We went there around 11 am. They have a small buffet open. I will say, I have a gluten allergy. But they use rice noodles. And the food with sauce have no soy sauce in it originally. Making it safe to eat. They had wings, salad, and like three different kinds of noodle dish I could eat. I don't remember the names except pad Tai. I could also eat theor spring rolls. Made in rice paper and cooked in oil. The oil doesn't get flower dunked in, making the wings and spring rolls safe for those like me. I recommend the place for those who have the same allergy. The food also had great flavors that made me grab 3 more plates. Mom paid so I can't say much about price. I didn't see the receipt. But I'm sure it was worth it! I didn't get a refill on drink. Tea and water does. Soda, they give a cup with ice and a can. So don't expect much with drinks. Place is small. Definitely a small mom and pop shop or family business. Nothing eye catching, but can get busy during lunch rush. We beat the crowd at 11 but as soon as 12 hit military personnel and other started filling tables. The staff are willing to answer questions and concerns if about how food is cooked. Good place! Plan to go again some day.
Enjoyed authentic Thai cuisine on my Europe trip and came to Texas, this restaurant has not disappointed me… Great customer service especially if you know what you want ( used to Thai food menu) and the food comes out incredible. We eat there once a week and there are always leftovers for the next day
I've had phenomenal Thai food in Thailand, excellent Thai food in Queens, NY and really good Thai in Toronto, Ontario Canada however today, I had mind blowing, super nasty-bad Thai in Harker Heights, TX!
I entered Grandma's with a friend hoping to have a taste similar if not as good as what I've had in the past only to have my pallet assaulted!
I explained to the staffer who serviced my table that I would like to have a spicy prawn soup, steamed dumplings and chicken satay with a peanut sauce on the side.
What came first was a over deep fried skewer of chicken with a peanut butter flavored thick textured sauce that tasted so nasty!!
I took only one bite because I don't generally like to self punish. Next came the rest of the order. The soup as you can see in the provided images looked nice. We where dooped! This soup I tell you was sickening and sour. Tomatoes as many people are aware can be acidic, the tomatoes in this soup where not cooked. The tomatoes where simply blanched from the heat and gave a very strong flavor that was unpleasant. Their was no potato in the soup, only a pinch of vegetables and large shrimp but, the shrimp where over cooked, thus a bit hard.
The dumplings where strange so, we didn't finish those as well. We ordered one additional item, Crab Rangoon and this was the only palletable item.
Crab Rangoon $6.95
Satay Chicken $7.95
Thom Yum w/ Shrimp $11.95 x2
Plus tax we paid $42.- total because the staff at this place didn't have the decency to remove the chicken satay from the bill when we sent it back because it was over cooked.
At the end of this horrid culinary disaster, the wait staffer had the audacity to ask if we wanted to go packaging for all the horrible food that he saw that we where not eating!!
This was truly the worst Thai food that I've to date encountered. Just to be clear incase I haven't been already, when we left there we had a strong sour taste gripping our throats so, we headed to Freddie's to get vanilla custard with chocolate sauce to help cleanse our pallets however, even after having finished the custard;.the sour taste remained... It took a long while for that disgusting sour taste to dissipate.
Try it for the first time it was delicious 😋
The food was amazing. Came here with my husband and two children and we tasted a little bit of everything and ended our meal with the most delicious mango sticky rice and leftovers to bring home! We will be back!
Thai food was fresh and tasty. Place is a little run down but comfortable. Adequate serving portions. Could use more sauce.

Food always tastes great and is brought out fast
I like this place
You Get good food at a Reasonable prices!
I simply asked if the pad Thai was made with soy sauce and if it had wheat/ gluten in it, and was met with a blank stare. The waiter had no idea what's in the food, how is prepared, and is apparently too scared of the cooks to go ask! Terrible, TERRIBLE customer service. We left.
This is a mostly takeout joint but the food is great and the staff is friendly. The roast duck curry is the best.
Delicious pad thai. Will have to ho back and do lunch buffet
Best place to eat thai food! Buffet is worth what you pay for. Highly recommend this place 😁🤙🏼
We have lived in Harker Heights for a couple years, have eaten from Grandma's Thai cuisine several times, and not once have we had a meal disappoint. Fantastic food for a good price.
Clean , customer service was great.
We were sat right away and we got our order in, appetizers and drinks fairly quickly so I'll give them that. Myself and my daughter got the pad thai, my son got the chicken fried rice, and my husband got the curry. The following were out issues. 1) pad thai was way too sweet. I've had pad thai in plenty of places but this was sweet to the point of being inedible. 2) we were never checked on the entire time we were there. We had to get up to get our own soy sauce and Sriracha. Not the end of the world but when you're paying for a sit down restaurant and expected to tip, the table side service is why you tip. 3) The waiter passes us by over and over with only two other people in the small restaurant, we had to have the cook get the waiters attention. We needed one to go container for my husband's food because we were NOT going to eat the pad thai later. 4) Knowing that we were ready to go since we asked for to go containers, the waiter simply sat down at the table behind us to start eating. My husband finally had to get up and tell him to go get our check. 5) The waiter/cashier never asked how anything was and when my husband tried to explain that the pad thai was inedible he simply said that pad thai is sweet and didn't offer any type of price adjustment. Four meals (pad thai basically not eaten), 4 drinks and an appetizer -$75. Save your money, the food is basic at best (with the exception of the pad thai which is just inedible) and the service is non-existent.
Always delicious and the shrimp rolls are the best!
Home cooked and very flavorful
The service was awful. Not welcoming. The bathroom is by a freezer and bags of rice. The egg rolls were awful. The pad Thai had a good flavor but was very sweet. The sweet tea was like syrup. I'm torn because the pad Thai itself was kind of good but not enough to go back for that service.
Really good food. Slowly trying different things on the menu.
Love the Thai coffee...lol
Enjoyed authentic Thai cuisine on my Europe trip and came to Texas, this restaurant has not disappointed me… Great customer service especially if you know what you want ( used to Thai food menu) and the food comes out incredible. We eat there once a week and there are always leftovers for the next day
We always make it a point to come see Grandma’s every time we are in Philly. The food is exceptional and the service is great. Our waiter, Hunter, helped us pick the right items and he was spot on!
Awesome authentic food.
The Chicken Pad Thai is terrific
A hole in the wall- but food is superb!!!! Very authentic!!!
Food tasted sour, like no other Thai food I've eaten
A great find - randomly picked from a "restaurants near me" search in a city I don't know well, and turned out to be the best Thai food I've had in years. The red curry has amazing flavour, the seafood in it was perfectly cooked, and the portion was generous.
Service was wonderfully attentive and cheerful, too. I'll definitely be back.
My mistake for expecting a lot from this place (as seen per aforementioned reviews) I ordered my fave thai dish which was chicken Drunken noodles medium spicy for pickup. No problem with service, they were fast, we got it quickly. But omg this was the worst (not even exaggerating) drunken noodles I ever had, there was no spice at all, not even a kick lol. I dont know why they added so much vinegar(?)but it was very sour. And its also very sweet. Barely had any chicken added to it, probably 4 tiny pieces. I could not finish the whole thing, it was trashed. What a waste of my time and money. I guess my search for a new Thai place continues….
Very disappointing. Tried after "Little Thai" closed down next door. Do not recommend.
I'd been hearing about this spot from co workers. Took my wife and daughter here for dinner and it did not disappoint. Food was fresh and hot when brought out. Waiter was a little slow and m.i.a at times. I assumed this was because he was the only one working the dining area. It wasnt a bad experience at all. We all enjoyed our food, so we will definitely be eating here regularly.
Best Thai food in Killeen or Harker Heights. Medium spice I'd still fairly spicy, even as someone who can tolerate pretty spicy food.
Glass noodle soup was very hot and yummy
Food was DIVINE!!!! Authentic Thai, delicious Thai Tea, awesome menu with so many great choices. Great prices too! I have found my new favorite Thai spot. If you want an wonderful and affordable meal Grandma's has you covered 💙
One of my favorite restaurants. It’s family owned, & the food is delicious & spicy. You can choose your level of spice. Warning- the thai spicy is very spicy & is similar to Wing Stop atomic sauce or Pluckers fire in the hole.
The best authentic thai cuisine I have ever had.
Yammy foods
Best Hidden Gem for Thai Food!!! Ordered Thom Kha & Thom Yum soups- both delicious! I am NOT a fan of Pad Thai, but Grandma's dish was good! Finally, the Green Curry was my favorite. All of the dishes are full of flavor without the Atomic Spicy Heat I've experienced at other places. I brought my parents along to try Grandma's for the first time & they were very impressed considering they're picky diners. I live out of town- this place is definitely worth the drive for Great Thai Food!!
Food is always good!!! It says it in the name. Idk if Grandma is still back there cooking or not but someone is getting it done the right way!!
Gooooo Johnny! Go! Go!
Inch!!
สวัสดีคุณเป็นอย่างไรฉันคิดถึงคุณจริงๆและฉันคิดถึงอาหารของคุณฉันหวังว่าคุณจะทําได้ดี
Everything about this place is wonderful: the food, the atmosphere, and especially the people. You will never go wrong having a meal here.
Great Thai food...there are many, many Thai restaurants in Killeen, but this one is my favorite - and it's not even the closest one to my house! They put lots of veggies in the Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles), which I appreciate. The people who work here are very friendly, and the buffet (I finally got in there at the right time to get it) is THE BOMB. Highly recommend.
Just found out they have a buffet, so I'll post an update. I enjoy their food and good sized portions.
Good Thai food at a decent price
Excellent meal! Many meals I have had say they are spicy but lack any real flavor. The owner explained and then recommended a spice level that was just right! There was enough food for two meals, and if I had just the Stir Fry Vegetables without Shrimp, it would have been just as good! I will be going back!
I finally got up the courage to try the Thai Spicy for the Mixed Vegetables with Shrimp 🍤! It was spicy! Either they toned the spiciness down for me, or my tolerance for spicy food is growing.
Menu items are good. I would NOT recommend the buffet.
Best thai food I've eaten. Pa krapow is my favorite, but everything else I've tried is great, too! I'm definitely returning more and more.
Food is so delicious and satisfying!
Great service
The food Is Always on point here ! Authentic!
Great Steak.
Nice place for evening place to dine in. Order take out Easy menu loved the seating and parking available the drinks and food were ordered and done very good they are delicious recommend doing the sea food plates with fried rice. Nice service great Thai food
I completely understand mom & pop restaurants that boast their specialty. This restaurant is close to falling in the "Waste of Money" restaurant. There is only ONE guy running phones, taking orders, running food out, and sadly can't keep up with it all. The food is missing that ingredient called love.. they love what they serve and care about their QUALITY. That is NOT THERE. There are better Thai restaurants in the Bell county area. Until they figure out how to flow better & provide quality food, I say Nothing To See Here.
Best of luck to Grandma's Thai.
Food is always fresh and hot and good
We definitely enjoy eating at Grandma's Thai Cuisine. I love the curry, Rangoon's and Pad Thai. It's not the best Thai food we've tasted but it's way up there with #1.
Very delicious! High quality, authentic. Very friendly staff. Loved the drunken noodle (pad khee mao) and the panang
Best Thai food I've had in a long time. We got massaman curry and pad Thai, spring rolls and fritters. Huge portion sizes enough for 2 meals. Had delivered food was still hot and fresh. Give them a try! Won't disappoint 🙌 😌
I saw Grandma in the kitchen and the food tasted like a very experienced Grandma made it, staff is very nice.
Excellent customer service, food taste authentic. The noddles were excellent, beef salad, papaya, sticky rice and sauteed chicken on the stick. I would rate this a 10⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The best Thai food we’ve had - the Crab Rangoon’s and Curry Dishes are a must try! Excellent food and service every time.
There are few Thai restaurants in Killeen. This one is on my favorites list. I’ve been satisfied with the taste of the food on every occasion. I usually order vegetable egg rolls and pad thai. The price point is reasonable and I love their Thai tea!
We had lunch buffet and all food was yummy.
I love this place!
I got the spicy duck curry with white/jasmine rice and it was delicious. Perfectly spiced, lots of curry sauce, could’ve been more duck but it was tender and juicy, not dry at all.
The cheese puffs are always crispy as well and so tasty.
Great customer service and delicious food!
Maybe best to dine in. I tried to call in an order and I guess I wasn’t ordering the way the person wanted me to and they just kept correcting me while I was trying to make sure we where talking about the same thing. I ended up just not ordering and am unlikely to dine in now.
Edit*
I was trying to order Thai noodle soup with chicken and the man kept repeating “so you want chicken noodle soup” “chicken noodle soup” “chicken noodle soup”. Living in the USA I wanted to make sure I wasn’t ordering what chicken noodle soup is here and ordering the Thai noodle soup. As I have had confusion at many places.
One of the best Thai restaurant in Killeen. You get that authentic taste with each food and the service was excellent. What more can you ask for? Check them out and you will not he disappointed!
Grandma's Thai is my wife and I's favorite Thai restaurant in all of Central Texas. There was a time when we visited this restaurant every Friday, while we may not visit as frequently, this is the place we go when we want good Thai food. restaurant. My wife enjoys the coconut soup and the Thai salad along with the fresh spring rolls. I love the combination fried rice, the Pad Thai, the egg rolls, and the Thai Tea. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for good Thai food.
This was my first time trying thai and i was not disappointed. The food was so delicious and filling. Great portions for what you pay for. The older lady that works there was very helpful in helping me find what i wanted, and even asked what spice level i wanted. The service was quick as well. Definitely will not be my last time coming here.
S/n: if you’re a crab rangoon lover, try her’s. It has a surprising twist to it.
the food was absolutely amazing !! just dont get the thai spicy,if you think your ready!
Best Thai in town. Thank y’all for the great food for all these years. Beef pad Thai is the best!
Great food
Amazing food definitely would go there
First time eating here and fell in love. The guy taking my order was so cool and I appreciate his hospitality 💖 yes I will be coming back! And yes I highly recommend eating here if you love thia or just want to try something new! This is the place to go!
It was worth the wait. The food was delicious!
Food was very delicious and full of flavor.
Best Green Curry Ever. Very Delicious and Authentic.
My daughter found Grandmas on google and I was pleasantly surprised the service and the food were wonderful! The food came out quick and the woman who served us was very friendly. I have not been very impressed by a lot of restaurants in the area, this place was a gem. Thank you!
Love the food.
Fresh made, authentic thai food
Atmosphere to match.
Place is amazing grandma cooks it up!
The food is really good. The buffet is closed so when you dine in the server was slow
Great food. They could improve on the look and feel inside the restaurant. There is a sense that furniture is old and antiquated and looks cluttered. However, the taste of the food is amazing! For those reasons, they get a 4!
อาหารอร่อย
The food is always top notch here! Good prices reflective of the portion sizes. They're always so helpful and accommodating for spice levels.
Food is great but service is Terrible. Waited 1.5 hours for to go food. This was 30 minutes as they said and once I arrived another 45 minutes. No updates and checked on people who had arrived after me and had there food done before mine. I just recommend calling again before going to make sure your food is ready and completely done before you arrive.
We absolutely love this place. It is very small but the women who work here are hard working and so friendly. It's a hole in the wall place so you know they have some REALLY good food. The wait can be long and that's because they are so popular and only one cook. If you want good Thai food and have a comfortable ending to eat in then this is the place for you.
This was the best Tai food restaurant ever! I took my kids there and they loved it because they made them a special meal since they didn't have white rice spicy with chicken. Truly amazing 🤩
Their Thai food was amazing.
We love Grandma's food, always tasty.
Only THEE best on this side of town. I say that because I haven't eaten at ALL the ones in Killeen but heights YES. Never ever done me wrong. Flavor be on point!!! and I hope yall never leave. So of anyone in heights looking for a delicious local Thai food spot look no further. In my terminator voice "I'll be back"
Very authentic food. We went medium as far as levels go and it had some kick. Great for sinus conjestion! The lunch buffet is temporarily not available. We normally get the Red Curry Chicken however, we ventured out to stir-fry (Pad Cha) and were extremely happy. The service was pretty quick (15 minutes) and the meal was worth it.
Tasty dishes, less attentive staff
This is probably the best Thai food I’ve ever had. It’s always busy so don’t expect it in a hurry but the staff is kind & the food is delicious! Yum yum yum!
Delicious Thai food, great menu, and friendly staff.
Friendly. Priced well.
And spicy means spicy, so order accordingly!
Delicious food, kind proprietors. Very spicy. I would order one level down from your usual spice level.
Food is really really good and every time I get it I love it. Never had any problems and the people there are nice. Bit of a weird vibe when you walk in so I usually get it to go but other than that it's a really good place to get some awesome Pad Thai.
Delicious Thai food, authentic flavors, great variety, and friendly staff.
I love this place the food is always hot and fresh with such flavor. And the staff is very nice !
Always delicious
Favorite place to go. Only buffet in the area that won't give you an upset digestive tract. I love the food. The buffet is small, but everything is excellent. I wish they would get a fountain drink machine, but I can see that those are expensive. I'm hoping that they keep doing what they do.
Always good food. Great people.
Awesome place, tasty Thai dishes.
I'm not sure of the gentleman that was their today at the register answering phone calls and serving food in the restaurant and also taking togo orders the hole time I was their but he was awesome!!! Very kind and not even stressed out doing these tasks and doing a great job!!! I wish I new his name! The service was grate! Even though I was just placing an order for an Uber delivery.... My experience that I had their for that short time was 🙂 nice!!!! I would love to try the food someday. Hopefully I can 🙂
Excellent food quality, authentic Thai dishes.
Service was amazing 👏, food was good small but friendly locaction..
The Gentleman there is very nice and the Yellow Curry Seafood was awesome.
This place has some of the best Thai food in Killeen!
The food was amazing!
My favorite place to eat !! Once a week a must
This is by far the best Thai food I've had in years. I ordered yellow chicken curry and asked for it spicy, and that is exactly what I got. The chicken was so tender it nearly fell apart when I touched it with my spoon, and the vegetables were also as tender as could be. I don't live here, but I'm certain I will be there again before I leave.
I've been in Killeen my whole life, so I'm kind of biased towards Taiwan Dragon's fried rice. I took my wife here for lunch ordered myself some eggrolls and the combo fried rice and lost my damn mind.😱😱😱 My new go to spot......I only wish she really was y Grandma.
I discovered this little gem close to my workplace and the food here is amazing! My favorite dish is Laab beef and it’s absolutely delicious here. The young man who works at the front was also very kind and nice to talk to. Glad I found this place!
Great food
The BEST Thai Restaurant in TX!!!
Great portions and fabulous taste, very authentic.
The staff is extremely friendly!
Grandma's thai is my go-to thai restaurant! The food is always amazing and the staff is friendly. I have never had a bad experience there
Good service! Great food! Been going there for years! Will not be disappointed.
Fantastic food, fair prices, slightly long waits but good service and it's super worth it for the food!!
Great food . The employees are very friendly
Love love love Grandma's! They haven't let us down for the past several years. From their shrimp in a blanket to thai spicy pepper steak my family loves this place.
Every time, all the time it hits the spot. Comes out in a timely manner and is always delicious.
Best Thai in area! Love their basil Thai rice with tofu!
Staff was friendly, service was fast, good was delicious.
