I'm not from around here but I was looking for something to eat after visiting UCLA. Found this Thai food place as I was walking around looking for a sports bar for the UFC fights..

This is authentic Thai food! The price is great. I ordered Chicken Pad Thai and Yum Thum Seafood soup. The Chicken Pad Thai portion is very large. I was pleasantly surprised. I always finish my plate but this portion is very generous. I highly recommend it. Come hungry!

I went out to lunch here with a friend and it was honestly pretty amazing. A gem of the neighborhood / west LA area for sure. If you’ve ever been skeptical of Thai food or haven’t tried it before this is the best place to try! The pad Thai was beyond delicious and flavorful, 100% would recommend!! The owner was so kind as well and the prices were not bad at all and large portion sizes

Tai tea had a different taste from other places. It was not like I was hoping it to taste. I think it can be better. The food was ok.

Delivery was quick and ordering was near effortless. My order was delivered spot-on--no problems here. I can say that the crispy spring rolls which they call "egg roll" were very nice but achieving such a feat is not difficult to do. The drunken noodle with chicken came with an ample amount of vegetables. I enjoy this and many Thai restaurants will not include this. However, as a whole the dish was bland, lacking flavor and lacking the heat I asked for in my order. Servings are large.

Best thai food in LA. Been to thailand. Go here. It's delicious.

I went there and ordered a Lunch Special. The menus in the restaurant and on their site have them priced cheaper than the price the owner charged me. When I pointed this out to him, he told me the price changed. I don't know why they still advertise the old price (unless he's charging me a different price than everyone else, which is even more concerning).

This is the best Thai restaurant on west side you can’t be centricity the food, the portions and hardly ever fool with people in the diner. You can enjoy a nice peaceful evening with your significant other or by yourself it’s very comfortable. This is the only place I go to get Thai food on the west side.

Best ribs I’ve had in my life

Ordered take out for my first time here as I was in the area looking for Thai food. I got the chow mein with tofu, the fried tofu and an iced coffee. All was delicious and I’ll be able to get two meals out of it! The iced coffee is perfectly not too sweet. The inside of the restaurant looked clean and I’ll definitely order from here again!

Lugar limpio y comida muy buena. La porción fue enorme y comimos dos. El café helado es una joya refrescante para después de la comida. El menú está muy bien explicado en cuanto a los ingredientes y resulta fácil para mi que no soy experta en Thai food. Los sabores singulares fueron agradables de descubrir y los precios son muy accesibles.

I never rate/comment on restaurants, but I felt the need to for Talay Thai. They have always been friendly with me, and they have some of the best Thai food I've tried in the city! I would give them 6 stars if I could. Their pad Thai and egg rolls are both amazing, and I've never had a disappointing meal there. Additionally, they both have some of the lowest prices in the city, but also some of the biggest portions! Don't be fooled by the fact that it's not flashy - this place is a hole in the wall for sure.

Love this place. Have been coming here for 15 years now, and the quality and taste have been maintained. Try the Tom Yum Kai soup, steamed shrimp dumplings, Thai red curry, deep fried tilapia ... Try anything, it is all amazing.

I love this place so much. The portions are generous, the prices are worth exactly what you get, all is so great. I've been eating here for 4+ years now since I've moved here for college. I tried many Thai restaurants when searching for a spot I'd go to often and this is the one. Dining in, picking up, or having it delivered, all the options are viable ways to enjoy. They're fast too with the food, but if they're ever slow, be patient because it is worth it in the end. Couldn't recommend it more. (Get the Thai iced coffee)

I had a good experience

We happened upon Talay Thai after navigating the wonky holiday traffic in Santa Monica. The food was delicious and the care was even better.

The beach was crowded...we were hungry and happened upon this spot. So glad we did. Amazing flavor.

The food was really delicious and not expensive.

Cat fish Supreme is a must have
I take it with order of egg rolls don't forget to ask for hot sauce

I placed an order online through beyondmenu.com and my order never arrived. I placed the order at 11:30am and have it delivered at 12:30. My order never arrived and I was charged 25.00. I tried calling the restaurant multiple times but it rings once and goes to voicemail. DON'T EVER ORDER FROM HERE!!!!

Food is good here. You get a lot of Pad Thai. Trust me. Used to be 260 pounds. I know a big portion.

it would of been an okay experience but the service made it very irritating , the server sits behind the counter, I had to call him 2 times (which he didn’t even hear me) shows you how much attention they even pay to the new customers walking in; finally The third attempt I walked to the counter to ask to get our order taken , also had to get up for spices and get up and ask for the check. Very irritating couldn’t enjoy dining at a restaurant ! Pad Thai was great , seafood hot or spicy (can’t remember exact name ) but soup was too sweet . Won’t be coming back here!

Yesterday, was the only customer in the restaurant and beside the server took my order and bring the food, he never come to my table to check or ask if everything was ok. In the middle of my meal I was thinking to have a second glass of wine but he never came to my table. What is more, I had to stand and go to the cashier to pay my bill cuz he never delivered. Salty food , bad service ... I would never come back.

I like this place. Crab noodles are yummy. It's so priced right and easy to get to for me. Staff is very nice.

Not sure why all the other reviewers have the food here such high marks. The food was good, not great. I've had better, and MUCH better in West LA. The chicken satay looked like it was coated in some florescent chemical. The chicken was just ok, kind of thin, and a little stringy and tough. The peanut sauce had been sitting out long enough that it developed a dry "skin" on top of it. The cucumber/onion vinegar sauce was pretty good but again, I've had better.

The Tom Yum Kai again was just ok. The chicken in it tasted kinda weird. The mushrooms were good, but the broth itself was not as complex as that soup can be at good Thai restaurants.

Lastly, we had the Pad Woon Sen with chicken. This was probably the best of the three. Probably because it's normally not that spiced of a dish. It had an ok mix of vegetables. What got me was the mini corns. I'm guessing they came from a can. I shudder to think that other vegetables we were served might have also been from a can instead of fresh.

Foods was not good. It took so long for the foods to be ready. There was no service at all. At 5PM there was only 1 guy who receives, serves, answers phone calls.

Sat down for about 7 minutes with no water or greeting, then proceeded to wait another 5 with menus stacked ready to order and nothing... There were four employees standing there a couple of whom were on the phone taking orders. Would not recommend ever.

I have been looking for a good thai restaurant and found one - Talay Thai was awesome with large portions and actually going back today!

The food here is pretty darn great, but I have to give it a 3.5 because the customer service and delivery experiences have not been very good for me.

I have ordered several times from here for lunch and they have repeatedly been so late that I miss my lunch. To make it worse, I have even tried to order 1.5 hours early and their have still been late...

If their pad see ew (with shrimp), wonton soup with veggies (which is THE CURE for any cold), chicken and salads weren't so darn good I would not order from here ever again. Unfortunately it is, and i continue to remain hooked for that very reason.

Fried rice sucks honestly; no taste nor flavor.

Great food

Talay Thai hits the spot for Thai food! The drunken noodle has a good flavor and is very satisfying. The red curry is rich and creamy with a nice spice. Service is friendly, and the joint looks pretty clean for eating in, too. Oh, and they have $7.50 lunch specials from 11 - 3. Can't go wrong! I'll definitely be going back to try their Chinese.

I only come here for one dish: Talay Thai Noodle soup

This is a clear broth noodle soup with flat rice noodles. Includes bbq pork, chicken, shrimp (1piece). The broth is soooo good and soothes me when I'm sick (much more filling than Pho, for the same price!)

I knocked off 2 stars because all other dishes are standard taste/quality for Westside Thai restaurants (caters to farang taste).
