Authentic Thai Cuisine, Noodle & Pasta
I've been coming here for some years now and I always order the same meal for my spouse and I.
Even though we order the same appetizers and entrées the food always comes out different (in a good way, like sometimes it will come with cucumber slices or lettuce leaves). Food came out hot and tasted very good, I was a bit skeptical coming to eat here because we arrived at around an hour before closing and thought the food was probably going to be reheated or cold but I was wrong it was fresh and fulfilling.
I highly suggest the Pad Rad Na with shrimp or chicken with potstickers and dumplings for the appetizers.
Service was very attentive and friendly.
Will definitely continue frequenting this establishment.
The photo I uploaded was the Pad Rad Na with shrimp and the other is with chicken with some of the food already eaten.
Returned to eat here again...see newer photos with full plates.
The owner is amazing! It was my girlfriend's first time here and first time even trying Thai food. And he made her feel welcome.and even suggested a dish for her to try and she absolutely loved it! We will be visiting again very soon! Definitely a hidden gem. Don't pass this place up!
Walked in and the inside looked nice. We were greeted and seated right away. We ordered soft rolls as an appetizer. We also ordered curry and pad Thai. After the soft rolls came out and we had a sample. Not sure why but the soft rolls tasted odd and the texture was also not right. The rolls were smothered in peanut sauce and over all was not what I was expecting. After the main dishes came out I was expecting the same but was surprised how good the curry and pad Thai was. Overall I give this place a thumbs up but take note on the soft rolls appetizer, this may not be as good as the rest of your order.
The Good - the fried rice was the best I’ve had in a really long time. The chicken satay was yummy, and the Thai iced tea was 🤤
The Bad - the pad Thai tasted really… unique. Not like any pad Thai I’ve ever had. Didn’t really like it. Our server was obviously having a bad day, and took it out on our table. Also he brought our appetizer to someone else, and brought us theirs. When he realized they already ate ours, they gave theirs to them too, for free. Didn’t even offer it to us. We sat there hungry and shocked. He didn’t apologize or comp anything for us to make it up to us….felt it was really bad customer service.
The Ugly - The Thai wrap (pictured) was pretty yummy, but I had to post a pic of the very questionable lettuce in case I get some weird disease from it. It was also super wet and made the sauce all watery. The pictures don’t do this place justice, the interior decorating is giving 80’s ops massage parlor front with sketchy spy plants. 😮💨😅
I came from Weslaco to dine in for lunch at Thai Red Chili's and I absolutely loved it. The food is ready in a jiffy and the service is absolutely wonderful. I dined in alone and there was not very many people inside but they were getting quite a few to go orders. The prices are fair and the portion size is just right. I ordered the L5 on the lunch menu which is around 9 dollars but I added an additional protein for an extra 2 bucks. I took a breather to write this review to commend the staff on their great work. Keep it up and I cannot wait to be back again.
No flavor at all, was told the red curry comes exactly as I see it (had no sauce at all), Tom Kha Soup had no flavor at all and tastes like water. Was told that everyone’s tastebuds are different and that they were sorry I was disappointed. Owner is at a Nursing Conference and won’t be back for another week so I can email and they will get back to me when they can. I asked for them to credit me for those two dishes or to offer me something else but was told they couldn’t do that. I wouldn’t waste your money here. This Thai food is flavorless.
Fantastic food, you should try it!

“Me encantó. Cada bocado me recordó mi último viaje a Tailandia. Los sabores son auténticos y realmente transportan. ¡Qué bueno tener un lugar así cerca!”
Great visit! Staff was extremely welcoming and the food was FANTASTIC! Definitely recommend to anyone wanting to try it out!

Best and only true Thai restaurant in Rio Grande Valley. We are happy to drive the 20+ miles from home because the food is consistently great. The menu is comparable to a good Thai restaurant found in a metropolitan area. Thai Red Chili's serve a tasty variety of soups, rolls, appetizers, and entree's. They also serve a green papaya salad that my friend, Somboon, first introduced me to when I lived in Philly. Since that first green papaya salad I have been pretty much addicted. And the Thai Red Chili's green papaya salad never disappoints. My late hubby always enjoyed this venue as much as I. I love the Tom Kha, as well as the Pad Thai and everything I have eaten at Thai Red Chili's. All good.
Love the food! It’s very authentic Thai food. Will definitely come again.
Closed through December 2024 per sign on door
The best Thai food restaurant in the Valley! The food is delicious.
I like it all 😁.
Real authentic Thai food and made extra spicy -just how the way I requested and how I like it. No fast food taste here. Prompt and courteous service.
Food was excellent. Plate is about 10-15 per person. My take out was made quickly while I had a beer. Food was made in about 15 minutes for me to go. Had sticky rice with the caramel, pad Thai and soft rolls. I enjoyed all of the items and would recommend them.
Loved it!
De lo mejor en todos los sentidos sin duda alguna 😎👍
Unbelievably delicious, if I were a rich man I'd genuinely eat here every day. Im not religious but the sweet tea, fried calamari with the sweet almond sauce and the yellow curry with beef as a meal is proof that god exists
The food, whether we take out or dine in, is always spectacular. Today, we dined in as a family, and everyone was so kind and took such great care of us. Mana (if I remember his name correctly) was our server and he was wonderful. We even got to meet and talk to the chef, Du, who was awesome! Thank you for always being such a great staple for our Thai cravings! Please eat here and enjoy this delicious food!!
I had the Pad Thai. I make it better. That's Thailands national dish.
Very authentic Thai cuisine! Everything I have had has not disappointed me at all.
We ordered our food with medium spice, but was a little too spicy. Our Diet Cokes were also expired. Service needs to be ALOT better. Food is a little pricey and service was not there, twice in a row.
I loved this spot, my husband and I came in about 12 pm for lunch and it was delicious. I ordered pad thai and order the curry. The heat level was 1-4 both my husband and I ordered a three. My husband is more inclined to spiciness so he finished his curry like a champ. I was tearing up trying to finish my pad thai it was still delicious. I had also bought in my baby in, the bathroom to my surprise had a changing station and I had appreciated that. I give this restaurant 5 stars 🌟 🤩 amazing!
Deliciosos me encantó todo
Pad Thai servings too small compared to other places I’ve been to for the price. Unfortunately my pad Thai was flavorless.
Wontons were soaked in oil, very unpleasant. Unfortunate there are not many other options for this cuisine.
this is the best place for thai food ever!!!!!!
Great lunch menu! Spring rolls are crispy, soup was delicious and the curry was just spicy enough for my taste, but if you want more heat, they can provide it! Great service and a great atmosphere as well.
Great place very tasty meals
Best Authentic Thai food in the RGV
When we walked in we weren’t greeted I had to ask if we just sit down. The food is decent not very close to authentic Thai as I have tried Thai all over the country I would know. Most disappointed about the bill. We ordered a kids meal that was 6.99 and ask for Pad Thai Tofu and they said they don’t really add anything to the kids meal as far as meat or tofu but server said they would figure it out well they charged it as 6.99 Fried Tofu entree and didn’t tell me until after the bill came and even when I addressed it the server said the back kitchen was being difficult and thats all. So they really stuck us the bill. Cost $55 dollar to have dinner so ridiculous. Would come back if they didn’t pull that. Thats how you lose customers! Also forgot to place our order for the Tom Kha Tofu but probably would have been $100 dollars anyways so good thing he forgot.
Me and my wife really enjoyed the food and service here. Even though they had a huge birthday party going on , we attended to without any problems. The food was great, and I definitely recommend eating here.
We were at the birthday party yesterday there and the food was plain and disappointing. Most guest were Thai origin so we know how the Thai food is cooked and tastes. The food was cooked ahead of the event and was without any flavors or typical Thai ingredients. I guess the owners were trying to save money. One of the lights was ready to go off and was flashing like a stroboscope. Most of the guests that we talk to didn’t like the food. Unfortunately RGV does not have a good Thai restaurant and we don’t recommend red Chili’s as well.
I order pad thai and some fried rice. it was really good,
Lived in McAllen a few years back and this was my go to Thai restaurant. I always get cashew nut chicken. Unfortunately they have changed their recipe for this dish and it is not as good as it used to be. Still a decent place to go.
The food is always so amazing.
Loved it!!!!! Again!!!!
Absolutely the best Thai food around.
I usually get my food to go. I've dined here a few times, food is always great never a disappointment.
First time here and both of the waiters are not pleasant or friendly. They seems very overwhelmed, did not have a pleasant time here. I'm hoping the food would be good to take up for his bad attitude. Food took too long to bring.
Absolutely love this place! Pad Thai level 4 spicy is king. The service was amazing and the atmosphere is very relaxing. 5 stars all the way.
The food is more than excellent, every delicious plate take you to origen of Thailand food. Nothing is compare to the great food you can eat there
No flavor at all, was told the red curry comes exactly as I see it (had no sauce at all), Tom Kha Soup had no flavor at all and tastes like water. Was told that everyone’s tastebuds are different and that they were sorry I was disappointed. Came here a Friday evening for dinner. Ordered the chicken satay as an appetizer. Came with a peanut and a cucumber sauce. Had great flavor. For the main course I ordered the red curry. Thai red curry paste, coconut milk, bamboo shoots, chilies. Green peas, and basil. Had great flavor, just waterier than usual Thai Curries I have eaten. Service was great. Only other drawback was the sweet tea had a weird flavor. Like it was sweetened with something other than sugar. Not a deal breaker.
Walked in and the inside looked nice. We were greeted and seated right away. We ordered soft rolls as an appetizer. We also ordered curry and pad Thai. After the soft rolls came out and we had a sample. Not sure why but the soft rolls tasted odd and the texture was also not right. Overall I give this place a thumbs up but take note on the soft rolls appetizer, this may not be as good as the rest of your order.
Good noodles
This has to be my favorite restaurant in the entire RGV! The food is amazing, the staff are always so kind and I always enjoy going. I have been going to this restaurant since 2016, the staff always go above and beyond to demonstrate their kindness and dedication in making the customers have a great experience. My favorite order is: chicken pad Thai with Thai iced tea. Their spring rolls are amazing too! I definitely recommend this place!
I've been to this place many times and they aren't known for serving the orders quickly BUT today was the worst ever. We literally had to wave the waitress down to ask for the waters we ordered an hour earlier. Two of my coworkers and I dined in for lunch, but we ended up going back to work late. They finally served 1 plate after the hour. There were other customers being served when they had arrived after us. Yet others were complaining for not getting their food either. My friend had to cancel her order well after 1 hour of waiting with NO apologies nor offering to give her the meal, until I mentioned how unprofessional they were and I couldn't believe my friend was going to have to go back to work on an empty stomach. They seemed to be terribly understaffed, but they need to learn how to apologize for their carelessness in being so disorganized and rude to their customers.
Great food and service. The pad Thai noodles are amazing and all the appetizers we’ve tried are yummy.
Food and service were excellent
great food poor customer service
Never closes on posted time. Every time I come here they are closed usually around 1:30 but their sign and website states they close at 2:30. What the the heck?? Are they on eastern time!
One of the best in the Valley! Love the Panang curry here with chicken!
I love shrimp fried rice and usually that is what I order when I visit any Thai restaurant.
I have enjoyed that dish at many locations throughout the U.S.
I must say, no restaurant makes it better than Thai Red Chili's in McAllen, Texas.
My compliments to the Chef for making the very best Shrimp Fried Rice found anywhere!!
Simply outstanding!!!!
Thank you, I'll eat there as often as possible.
Very good service and very good food
One thing to make clear...I am no Thai food expert, so it's hard for me to critique the food on quality however, this is still my experience.
I took my wife here...they seem to close really early, like mid-afternoon early. We got there right at closing time however they still took our orders, so kudos to them. My wife and I really weren't too sure on the food so we asked the waitress and we ordered based off her recommendations.
We both ordered noodle based dishes...did they taste how they're supposed to? Honestly not sure... however the cook on the pasta was perfect. The noodles didn't taste bland and they had good consistency. The beef that accompanied the noodles was nicely seasoned.
The shining star on the menu which deserves 5 stars on its own was the fried banana. My wife had an urge for a dessert...and we decided to try out the fried banana...DYNAMITE. It was paired with ice cream...it was a perfect combination of sweet with some tartness, not to mention the contrast between the hot and cold of the ice cream with the banana. I told my wife I would come back just to have dessert any day of the week...
If you haven't eaten Thai before but want to try it...this place is a definite must...right along with their fried banana dessert. Enjoy!
My pad thai had no flavor. The noodles looked white as if there was no sauce on them. I stopped somewhere to call them back and asked where was the sauce. The waitress said she could give me a side to go. I drove back to pick it up. I called back n asked her if she could give it to me and that my car was at the door. She declined yet it's like 6 steps from the counter to the door n the unhappy customer had to drive back to get some flavor on the food. Not authentic at all. The sauce they game me is a liquid watery sweet sauce that looked like it came from a bottle. Almost $13 for noodles w vegetables. If you think we don't know better at the valley what real Pad thai looks n tastes like you are wrong.
Ordered to go of pad thai first time and it was terrible.
This time around I order red curry, soft roll, and tum yum soup.
Let's start with the tum yum soup, it came in like 8oz for 3.99... seriously. There wasn't even much soup in it.
I don't even know how to put it in words of what I got for main dish... red curry was straight up watered down so much that it was water. The chicken was so tough it was like eating rubber.
Won't recommend again, twice was enough.
Green curry was only coco milk and had old spoiled bamboo shoots. Pad Thai used regular fetuchini pasta, it did however have mid flavor. Server was very good and attentive but owner was very defensive when I asked about the curry. She explained to me that they use pre made curry paste that comes in a bag. The portions where small for the price point.
NOT authentic Thai food.
WOW!!! VERY GOOD FOOD. VERY FRIENDLY STAFF. I WAS MISSING AUTHENTIC THAI FOOD, AND THIS PLACE PROVIDES. EVERYONE SHOULD COME AND EAT AT THIS PLACE.
The staff is very friendly and the place is nice and relaxing but the food is what will have you coming back. It is delicious! I ordered the Chicken Cashew dish and it was tasty and so well put together. I also tried their dessert and it was wonderful. They have many vegetarian and vegan options.
The service and food are great with an authentic feel. I also love the decor and ambiance. This is a hidden gem.
I had the Thai curry and devoured it. The Thai green milk tea was also delicious.
Great food and excellent service…. Two thumbs Up!!
Excellent authentic Thai food
Loved it!! 💛💛💛 Great tasting food, great portions and great service. So clean, quiet and calm. Definitely be back...
The best Thai Restaurant in McAllen!
Delicious!!
Food is delicious. I got the Thai Fried Rice with chicken. I was also able to try the Yellow Curry and Panang Curry. All the food was delicious! The Thai Tea is great as well. Highly recommend.
Great food!
The best Thai food I have tasted in the valley.
We didn't like the food
Great Great Food
Genuine Thai, lovely ambience, delicious food. Love the spicy pad thai. My vegan daughter requests tofu pad thai, (no egg) and the tofu is delicious!
My go-to spot for Thai cuisine in the RGV. The food is awesome and the ambience is definitely relaxed and welcoming. The staff are also very kind and helpful. 100% recommended.
Not authentic at all. First off, the portions were really small for to-go. The tom ka chicken soup was too lemon-grassy and the small is like a tiny cup, like so small you take 3 sips and it's gone. The pad thai was pretty bland compared to other thai food we have had in Houston and San Antonio. The yellow curry was bland and the chicken in it was dry. Curry should be flavorful and rich and this one was not. Really disappointed because we really love Thai food, but this place was just sad. Do not recommend.
They are very skimpy on their portions and only 5 shrimp in the Thai Pad for 3 dollars making me think it's all about the almighty dollar and not customer satisfaction
Had the pad thai, hoy jor and calamari 👌
I had their take-out during lunch and it was absolutely delicious! I can't wait to be back!
So I just moved back to McAllen from California, and I was craving Thai food. I saw this place nearby and ordered the drunken noodles. I was so disappointed by the mild flavor, over cooked noodles, and lack of vegetables, no red bell peppers or tomatoes in drunken noodles?? What is that? Overall flavor and texture were lacking, and the portions were small. I wanted to like this place, I really did. Living now in the RGV, I'll just have to learn how to make Thai food myself. This region is lacking in quality Thai cuisine.
Best duck I've had in a long time
I'm assuming this is a valley thing because I have never been to a Thai restaurant who served such small portions for the price. (I ordered to go) My pad se lew had about an ounce of chicken in it and 2 pieces of broccoli. The sticky rice with mango had a kid's size portion of rice. (I was really looking forward to feasting on dessert) It's probably because there aren't many Thai restaurants to compete but I rather save my money and eat Thai food outside of the valley. I feel so sad that it has to be this way.
The portions are tiny! I really mean it. I thought I would try for a second time hoping that maybe it was just an off day. These are at best small lunch portions. They are so tiny I was laughing when I saw the sticky rice and mango dessert. It was about a tablespoon of sticky rice and four mango slices. I have eaten Thai food all over the country and this is really a shame. I will not return. Also the soup I ordered was also tiny. Hopefully something else opens up around here otherwise it will have to wait until I travel.
Authentic thai food. Cant beat it. Been going for the past 15 years.
so yum. i just wanna take home a big container of the egg roll sauce 🤤
Best ever!
Best Thai food in the Valley. We stop by every time we're in town.
Great food and great staff!

The meal it was very good
Friendly and courteous staff. Good food at a good price.
Great place everything is so good starting with the soups the Tom Yum and Tom Kha very delicious. also the pineapple rice with veggies great taste. The pastas had a great taste as well. Milk teas were very good too. I really do recomend this place!!!!!
Excellent food. Busy but worth the wait. Prices: reasonable.
Food and service are always great.
I always forget to go here and I really need to add this place to my regular list of amazing food! Pad Thai is amazing, their Thai Tea is so refreshing, and recently we tried their special: Pineapple Fried Rice, so good!!! And don't forget the Fried Ice Cream for dessert. Well worth every penny.
Pretty pricey. Tom Kha is what I go for, but the soup barely has any vegetable. And they charge extra for a small cup of brocolli and carrots. So ur paying like $15 for a bowl of soup for 2.
My wife enjoys the pad thai with either chicken or shrimp. I tried pineapple rice with shrimp. We both were very pleased with our meals and service
Amazing food. Only thing missing on my pad thai was bean sprouts.
Really great Thai. Exceptional curry. Would be 5 stars but they need more waitresses. Poor girl was alone running around like crazy.
The Tom Kha, is legit and the Pad Thai is delicious, finish off with Thai Custard.
Springs roll wraps are on point.
Spoil yourself with Thai tea!
Excellent food and service! We love the Pad Thai and the curry is also pretty good. The service is very good. We'll continue eating here!
The food was amazing. The server was great at making recommendations
Finally! A restaurant that has hot tea AND HONEY!!! Loved the food !!!
Bad quality
Low quantity
Horrible food
Delicious food excellent service but sometimes I wish that they put a little more on the plate :-)
So good.
Super good
They used to have wonderful food here. I was not impressed by my order today. I got a to go order and I was pressed for time. They gave me red curry instead of green and had to remake my order. I ordered extra curry sauce on the side. It's a good thing that I did because there was hardly any sauce in the dish. Half of the extra sauce had meat and veggies in it, so I didn't get a lot of sauce in there either. I ordered extra rice to go with my extra sauce. Since I didn't have enough sauce, the rice went to waste. So, I paid extra on both for nothing. Also, the chicken was way overcooked. I also ordered a beef fried rice, and the meat was overcooked on that as well. Not sure I will be going back here anytime soon.
I was in the McAllen area and decided to look up Thai restaurants in the area. After reading the reviews of Pad Thai noodles I thought I'd give it a try. As expensive as it was, You would think that they would at least serve a big portion. Food was served in one portion of Styrofoam plate. Chopstix serves their pad thai filling up the whole plate and with lots of flavor. This order had zero flavor. Very disappointed.
Good food, they had one waitress and she was a little slow. Not mentally but physically.
Amazing Thai food! I love the massaman curry and pad kee mao
My family and I absolutely love the Tofu and Chicken Pad Thai, Yellow Chicken Curry, and their Chai Tea. The food comes in generous portions and the service is impeccable. Compliments to the chef! 😋
Food is always great here! Service is also wonderful. All around, 5 stars.
GREAT Thai food in McAllen and GREAT service, very kind. Must try!
This our favorite restaurant in the McAllen area. They treat our kids so well. This is the restaurant they ask for more than any other. The chef goes out of his way to make the food just right for them and they love it. Flexible and delicious. The owners are from Thailand, so this is better than other supposed Thai restaurants.
Great service, good food
Everything we had was excellent. Yellow curry, Pad Thai, wontons. Try the peanut dressing on your salad.
Best thai food in the valley!
Real thai food, loved the thai tea
Go it's one of the culinary jewls the valley has
Quite Place. Good Service
Food was delicious and freshly made.
Anything in the menu is good. For appetizers, I recommend the fried calamari and the potstickers as both are wondeful with the accompanying sauces. The Pad Thai and the Pad Se Iew are both traditional Thai staples that have very balanced flavor and a heat level can be ordered or doctored with the schiracha sauce or peppers, which accompany the entree. Don't let the appearance of the dark duck appearance fool you: you are in for a culinary orgasm as you indulge on the duck crisp (skin). Overlall the food is authentic, fresh and full of flavor. It is always worth the 68 mile drive from Brownsville.
Had the yellow curry and it was fantastic! The server was friendly and attentive.
Excellent food and service
味道不錯,但是涼拌青木瓜不推
泰式奶茶很好喝
Best food
Didn’t have a good experience the pad Thai smelled like rotten eggs we send it back right away and the fried ice cream was fried with the wrapping paper.
The server removed the charge.
Never going back
I have eaten at this place 4 out of the 5 times i was in the area. The one time i didn't was Labor Day and they were closed. And, I'm gonna eat there today, too. And so should you.
Awesome!
