We stumbled upon an absolute gem upon our recent visit to Hollywood. Our waitress was very kind and seemed pleased that we were going to enjoy lunch in her restaurant. We ordered the radish cakes and basil pork with rice. Both dishes were phenomenal, well-seasoned, fresh, and appropriate portions. Would highly recommend this establishment to anyone! Be sure to bring cash, as this is a cash-only restaurant as of the time I wrote this review. 10/10

Wow.. what a bad experience. The place has no ac, and the dining room was easily 90 degrees. They said they only took cash. The menu is strangely limited for a thai restaurant-- there's only about 10 things available. When they told me they don't do Pad Thai, that was the last straw. Also, the prices were really high. I don't think they want customers. There is a great Thai restaurant next door.

The best Thai beef stew noodle in the world! We just got back from Thailand, eating great food everywhere. Still no beef stew noodle made as well and with as much care as Rodded.also love eating ham hock w basil ka pow w crispy fried egg. The best Thai coffee anywhere ❤️💕❤️

Very friendly staff, simple menu, good food.

I’d repeat!

Diner Review №7

Cash only. Friendly staff and excellent pork drunken noodles.

Diner Review №8

The lady owner have just tricked us by taking our cash payment (which was 29$ exactly) and then coming back for us saying we paid just 9$ and that 20$ was missing.. we ended up paying 20$ more than we should have.
By the way, the spring rolls were horrible.. the fried rice was great though.

Diner Review №9

Duck kapow is the best!!

Food solo!!

A nice spot in thai town. You van throw a rock and probably hit a place that has delicious food in Thai town but this place is very tasty. One of, if not the best duck noodle soup in los angeles. (Sweet Rice in gardena might be better but they're different). The GA Pow with crispy pork was so good. Also, must get the thai iced coffee. Sep 23 it was 2 dollars. Unless it was a mistake it is quite possibly the best deal in America for a beverage. And it was very tasty.

Diner Review №13

I love the Daikon Cakes here. Soooo good and a rare find. Not anywhere else in LA as I’ve seen. Good soup too. Duck noodle and coconut Tom Kha are my favorites. The owner and his wife are super nice. Small spare, simple place. Not fancy but I like the owners a lot.

Diner Review №14

Their duck noodle soup is so good. We have Thai restaurants in SGV but none of them make the broth taste as good as they do here.

My hairdresser was born and raised in Bangkok and she also swears by it. I just wish they were a little closer to me!

Diner Review №15

Easily one of my favorite restaurants around LA, the duck noodle here is better than anywhere else I've tried. As a friend put it, the soup, "tastes like melted duck fat," but it's not too oily.
I do, however, find that I occasionally add my own sweat seasoning while eating the deliciously spicy noodles.

Other favorites include the fried shrimp balls & shrimp cakes (which are a little more greasy), and the weekends-only Hainan chicken rice.
If you're familiar with the traditional yellow-skinned, served-cold chicken rice, just know that this isn't it. Served hot, with white-skinned chicken, over a less fragrant chicken rice. The soup and chili sauce, as well as keeping in mind its not the traditional style, make it definitely worth a try in my opinion.

Of course, the beef noodles are also amazing.
I've found that dishes with stronger or more robust flavors, or with a heavier Chinese influence, tend to be better here - at least for my palate. I wasn't disappointed with the tom yum and other lighter fare, but I wasn't particularly impressed, either.

Definitely try the duck or beef noodles. Anything else on the side is up to you, but you *need* to try the duck noodles if you come here.

Another authentic Thai restaurant from a native Thai. I’ve dined at this restaurant for more than 20 years. Pork leg stew rice, ground pork with basil and duck noodle are my favorite. Problem is I don’t have enough space in my stomach!!

Diner Review №17

Place shows open but is locked up.

Diner Review №18

Another authentic Thai food in LA recommended by my local Thai friend. Try the stewed pork leg basil stirred fry. Definitely a place I want to visit again.

Little mom and pop. Parking can be difficult but I eventually found street parking.

Their duck noodle soup never disappoint! I am happy to see that they have survived the affects of the pandemic to the restaurant industry. This is a modest family-run that serve honest to goodness Thai dishes so please support them when you are in the area.

Diner Review №78

How can anyone take pics of their food at this place?! I looked down at my plate just moments after my amazing waitress put it down on the table and the food was gone! I hardly remember scarfing it down! Perfect prices, perfect portions, and the most authentic Thai restaurant I’ve ever been to in the states! I spent 3 months in Thailand and this place took me back there the moment I walked in. I’d the meal of the person who takes me to more authentic places like this one right here! 😬

If you're looking for a Thai restaurant that all Thai people in LA know, it would be Rodded. You know how when you get back to LAX after traveling outside CA, and you have your first meal at In-N-Out? Well, this is where Thais who live in LA go to. They are well known for the duck noodle soup. Try the stir fried ham hock with basil and chili over rice. The fried bananas are made to order and you can share it with the whole table! It's primarily a lunch/early dinner place, closed at 8pm usually and Wednesdays.

Full disclosure, my dad opened the restaurant in the 70s and my cousin owns the restaurant today. It is the oldest Thai restaurant in Los Angeles.

Diner Review №99

I love the leek cakes, fried and steamed. Their speciality is duck soup. I also get the fried wonton with noodles.

Diner Review №100

Maybe I ordered the wrong thing or maybe it just wasn't that good. Duck was flavorless. The rice was flavorless and the sauce was flavorless. The staff/owners were very nice unfortunately the food left me hungry and unfulfilled.

Diner Review №101

Give 5 if they open Wednesday

Diner Review №104

Conveniently located near Griffith Observatory & Mt Hollywood hiking, Rodded is a quick, fair-priced tasty, cash-only joint. More cozy than formal, they serve up all the standard Bangkok staples. Tom ka gai was a standout.

Diner Review №105

Günstig und authentische Thai Küche. Authentisch ist auch die Einrichtung.

Went here for the second time today. Got everything to go. Got the duck soup, fried leek cakes, spicy noodles, and chair iced tea. The server gave me water while I waited and was extremely pleasant. Food was out fast, packaged with care, and she went over everything I had ordered with me. Will be back again for a third time

Diner Review №110

I am pretty picky when it comes to food, however, this pleased me from start to finish

Diner Review №111

Get the duck soup. What else? No you are getting the duck soup.

Diner Review №112

Tom kha gai and Thai iced tea is amazing

Diner Review №113

Best Thai tea I ever had. Taste like real dark black tea. With cream and shaved ice in a cold thick glass handled beer mug.

Diner Review №114

Old school Thai food. Love their spring roll and Tom Yum. Great service, cash only.

Diner Review №115

Diner Review №117

Thai duck soup!!! Local comfort food, great hangover soup. Cash only. PS Its Thai spicy here. Meter parking.

Diner Review №118

Best uthenticThai in all L.A. being going for 20+ years. Beef on Chilli, thin slice beef fat noodle soup, crispy pork, & shrimp thai salad some favorites. All spicy.

Diner Review №119

I have been coming here for over 20 yrs for only one dish: sliced beef noodle soup. Yes they are known for their duck noodle soup, but I prefer beef. Broth is delicious! I get it with flat rice noodles and an order of Thai ice coffee.

Diner Review №120

Had the khao pat with pork. Only 7 bucks and huge serving and delicious!
