Originating from Northern Thailand, Khao Soi showcases a unique blend of spices and ingredients, creating a harmonious balance of savory and subtly sweet flavors. The beef shank is slowly braised until it becomes irresistibly tender, melt-in-your-mouth texture and depth of flavor that is truly satisfying.
I recently visited a newly opened Thai restaurant for the first time. Overall, I really appreciated that the food wasn’t overly salty, and every dish I ordered was delicious. The rice was blue, which caught my attention since blue-colored food is often associated with suppressing appetite. It made me curious about why they chose to serve blue rice. The restaurant itself was cozy and clean, but the seating was quite close to the entrance, so it felt a bit chilly.
Breezy outdoor sitting area was very nice. We had three traditional dishes, green curry with chicken, pad Thai and basil beef over rice. The blue rice was very aromatic and the dishes were tasty, but certain not near the top Thai places we’ve eaten thus far. All three were on the sweet side than what I would like. Some people may like it, but they were too sweet for me.
A hidden gem, we came for dinner on Saturday, arrived early enough to be seated right away. Service was quick including getting our food on the table. My daughter had the curry puff to start, which she absolutely loved. The lamb shank was delicious and the chicken pad see ew on point. We got both white rice and blue rice. The mango sticky rice and the mango & cream croffle for dessert hit the spot.
I haven’t been as adventurous with Thai food as I’d like, so I decided to dive in and ordered the khao soi. This curry noodle soup is a game-changer that I didn’t know I needed in my life! Naturally, I also had to try their pad Thai, and wow, it was the best I’ve ever had. The noodles were perfectly chewy and bursting with flavor. I’m definitely coming back. The food, the vibes, everything was top-notch. There’s both indoor and outdoor seating and free street parking if you’re lucky.
We got the cucumbet salad, pad see ew and drunken noodles 🍜 Did not dissapoint! We were looking for something authentic and when we arrived we were slightly confused because it looks americanized. We almost left, but we were starving so we said F it. Let's eat! Im so glad we did. The service was good, did great and were stuffed
I’ve been here twice. And both times the food hit the spot. It’s a family-owned restaurant with fresh ingredients, family recipes, and amazing ambience. The owners are also super nice and welcoming. They also provide catering. It’s about $14-23/person depending on what you order.
I highly recommend the Khao Soi beef noodle (basically Thai ramen). This dish was exceptional and hit the spot in every way: rich flavors, filling portions, tender beef, etc. Also recommend Pad See Ew and Drunken Noodles.
I will be coming back to try other stuff here, the dessert also sounds delicious. Really good food and service!
Great Thai food with a homemade feel and modern twists! Penh (not sure about spelling) was very friendly and warm. She told us that they just opened about two months ago at this location. The ambiance is clean and modern. A good amount of indoor seating and some outdoors as well. Street parking is best after 7 pm because that is when the meters are free (at least weekdays). The food was really tasty and made with care. The Butterfly Pea Lemonade was pretty with a nice zing. The Beef Khao Soi was super flavorful and delicious! Really eye catching too. We also got some Papaya Salad and Veggie Egg Rolls. The Papaya Salad was sweet with a nice heat and paired well with Pad See Ew. The Egg Rolls were nice and hot with a great crispy exterior and not soggy. The Pad See Ew was very flavorful and done well. A lot of chicken came with it too. We also got dessert including Mango Sticky Rice and Mango Croffle. The Mango Sticky Rice hit the spot! Creamy with crunchy bits from toasted coconut. The Mango Croffle was crunchy too with a nice homemade cream. Overall, great experience and would visit again!
Easily the best pad krapow I’ve had in a very long time. The egg was fried perfectly. Would return anytime
I really like this place!
Food was awesome. Had Larb, Papaya Salad, Pad Thai, Kao Soi. The owner/ server was very kind and thoughtful. I highly recommend this place!
I live in Raleigh, NC here for a LA trip. I wish this restaurant was in my town too so I could have this delicious meal every day!
Amazing food. Lovely service such a sweet lady. You can tell the food is family recipes. Would 10000% recommend
Me and a friend fool a day trip to Aurora bakery and decided to stop for lunch. Everything we tried was delicious and quality and the bill was very reasonable for two girls that order a bunch of appetizers lol. Definitely try them out if you’re in the area!

The best Thai restaurant in Hollywood!
Lamb shank curry was absolutely amazing
Food were very salty! What a disappointment!
This place was SO GOOD. I love Khao Soi and we tried both the chicken and beef. The meat was so tender and flavorful. We also ordered the cucumber salad which was very fresh and yummy. We got the mango sticky rice for desert and it was so good! Really everything was made so well and felt like I was eating home cooked food. I gotta come back and try more things on the menu!
The Beef Khao Soi at Mee Dee is one of my favorite dishes in all of LA. It's Michelin Star level. I'm not even usually a fan of beef, but the beef in their Khao Soi is so soft it literally melts in your mouth. I think it takes them like 5 or 6 hours to cook the beef so be warned they do run out, but the chicken Khao Soi is great as well. Also, the servers are extremely nice and they even remembered my name after only one visit.
One of the best Thai restaurants I've eaten at. My favorites are their krapow dish and tom yum fries.
Truly a delicious Thai restaurant with wonderful service and both standard and less common menu items. We had the pad se ew with crispy pork and the khao soi chicken, along with cream cheese wontons and papaya salad. All were fresh and well prepared with deep, dynamic flavor. If you are visiting, live in this neighborhood, or simply love thai, I highly recommend checking it out.
Owner is EXTREMELY RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL
Have been a long time fan, but now im advising all who read this to NOT go there ever. Terrible terrible woman in the front who claimed she was the owner.
Nope! Not it! No flavor! Just noodles! And Veggies! Thank you tho!
Amazing small place great selection of food every thing is costumed to your liking excellent food incredibly tasty
The food was perfect!!! Everybody was so kind and nice. Hot recommendation
A charming family restaurant, delicious, sensitive to diners' requests and authentic. We ate five people and enjoyed every dish. The only criticism was that some of the dishes felt a little too sweet. At the end of the meal we thought of making a reservation for the next day :-) That says it all...
This is THE BEST Thai food we have had, EVER! Not only in Los Angeles, but anywhere! We had veggie spring rolls, orange chicken wings, lamb shank, and beef shank in curry sauce with noodles. Even the rice that came with the lamb shank was unique, flavorful, with many health benefits! The owner, Pin, explained that the food is from her childhood and how happy she is to cook the things that she grew up on. You can really taste the love in the food! We highly recommend you coming and enjoying a meal here. The prices are reasonable, the ambience is relaxing, the restaurant itself is immaculate and clean and the food and flavor are heavenly! Definitely a new hidden gem we will always come back to! - Noelle & hubby Rian

This place is incredibly tasty and has both classic Thai dishes as well as some innovative takes on traditional Thai. Will definitely come back.

Incredibly friendly owner!
Best Thai food I had in my life, thanks for the delicious!
I had the chicken satay for an appetizer, and then chicken drunken noodles, and my girlfriend had the krapow moo krob, and all of it was amazing. This is better than my favorite thai place back in NY. I highly recommend it.
Lovely server, delicious papaya salad, cry baby noodles and crying tiger beef. Very light and flavorful.
I have lived in LA for 20 years, and I can say without a doubt, this is the best Thai food I have ever eaten. And there is delicious Thai food all over the city, so I realize this is a superlative review. I am celiac so I can only enjoy their gluten free options (of which there are many).
The first must have dish is the Tom Kha Gai, chicken coconut soup. The mix of flavors…the perfect blend of subtle sweetness and umami are transcendent. The chef uses fresh cut onions, mushrooms which give a balanced slightly crunchy texture (other restaurants might let these stew for a while making them less crunchy). The large portion is served in a large metal soup cauldron of sorts, kept warm by a sterno with a ladle for serving. It’s an experience. Again…I have eaten this soup 100s of times…and this is the best I’ve ever had.
The curries are exceptional and served with a blue rice (per the owner, the rice is cooked with butterfly pea flower, giving it a subtle blue color).
The restaurant is small and simple. The owners (who are also your servers and chefs) are warm, kind and attentive. The food is made with love and you can certainly taste it. FYI -They have no liquor license yet , but you can have a drink at the pub next door if you like.
If you are a somewhat jaded LA diner like myself, and looking for something special that won’t crush your dining out budget, definitely give it a try.
DO NOT GO HERE. One of the worst foods I have ever had. I literally had to spit the crispy chicken sandwich. It felt like I was chewing a gum. The food was cold and had absolutely no flavor. Same your time/money and taste buds. DO NOT GO HERE.
Nice neighborhood Thai spot with great service and indoor/outdoor seating.
What a delicious experience! Pin, your smile made our day, thank you. You helped us a lot and the food was delicious. During our LA visit, we were looking for a Thai Food and we are glad that we choose Mee Dee! The flavours was on top. Spice level is 10/10. Clean and nice tables. Don’t look another place to eat Thai Food.
The best yellow curry I have ever had!
The food was amazing but the hospitality and service were even better. We were in town visiting and will definitely come back. Highly recommend if you want authentic Thai food. The Tom Yum and Tom Kha soups were the best! The crab fried rice and the pad Thai were perfectly seasoned and savory.
This was our first time at Mee Dee Thai Kitchen. The service was great and servers friendly. The crab fried rice, pad Thai, Tom yum soup were great. Overall a wonderful experience.
Love the food. The owner is a kind person, my bf picked this out for date night and I’m so happy
The staff were very welcoming, but the pad thai was not as good as other Thai restaurants I've been to and the orange chicken was tough.
Truly deserves the 5.0 star it has —THE BEST Thai food I’ve ever had and I’ve had a lot in my life. They are also the sweetest, most wholesome people. Always the best place to go when you’re having a bad day!
Most delicious thai food and the family that runs the place is so sweet. We love coming back here!
Everything was perfect! The flavours and the service was all we could ask for and more. It was our first time eating Thai food. It was delicious!
Amazing service. Food was great. We ordered Basil Fried Rice and Curry noodle soup. Both were delicious.
There is a street parking but also free parking available in the basement.
It felt really nice to be taken care of like that. Thank you!!
Best thai food I’ve had in the us. Very good service and nice staff.
What a lovely find! This place has great reviews and it deserves it! Delicious meal from start to finish. We got the lamb shank and wagyu beef. WOW. SO GOOF. Great service too. Will definitely be coming back.
Deliciosisiisisimo todo!!
Fantastic Thai food, the best in recent memory and possible the best I’ve had in LA. Tom Yum soup was a standout, but the pad thai was excellent too. Portions are very generous. We will absolutely be making the drive here next time we want Thai food (which involves passing probably a dozen closer Thai restaurants). And it’s open until 11!
The fried rice was amazing, as well as the crispy pork. The owners were really nice and the atmosphere was well curated. There’s outdoor and indoor seating and it ls right across from a bar which plays good music.
All in all, 5/5. Fantastic food! Try the wings!

probably the best Thai food i’ve had in LA! i got the pad see ew and it was delicious, i got it spicy too :)
they have a cute outdoor patio in a courtyard, very nice chill vibes
exceptional food! 😍 i barely left the restaurante and can’t wait to come back
So amazing!! Really the best Thai food I’ve had in a long time. Service is fantastic, food is even better. Will be coming back soon!
This place was great! The food was delicious, and the owner was super friendly and helpful. There was great service and vegan options. Would recommend!
This place is worth the trip! The menu selections are inventive, refreshing and very tasty. I had the curry noodle soup with beef, and the spring rolls which were fried and delectable. Pin is a very friendly and patient owner and hostess.
I can really recommend this place, it was the best Thai food I have ever tasted in my entire life. The server and service in general was really great and they were all super nice. Please remember to tell them how spicy you want it, or it could end up being too spicy for you. Unfortunately this happened to me but it tasted so good I didn't want to stop eating and in the end the lady gave me some hot water, that really helped the spice. 10/10 can only recommend
So delicious. Good Thai food is hard to come by. We ordered Thai iced tea (the best I ever had in LA not exaggerating) spicy drunken noodles, spicy tom yum soup, non spicy fried rice with chicken for our toddler. Highly recommend!
Fresh authentic Thai food with excellent flavors. Ordered for pickup through DoorDash. Pad see eww, fried rice and veggie spring rolls were super good.
The rice is fire ( Really good ) 🔥👍
I didn’t expect too much from this place but since we were in the area and they have great reviews we have it a try. AMAZING! Food, service, and friendly owners were all excellent. We will definitely come back!
This place is super delicious, the food, the attention, the desserts, plus they don't make you wait and their food is fresh, my daughter and I loved it!.
I ordered beef pad see ew, shrimp tom yum, chicken panang curry with rice and everything was delicious. Hard to find great Thai food. Will be coming back!
Absolutely delicious food and amazing service. What more could you ask for?
The food was delicious, flavorful, and fresh! Loved the soup, spring rolls, and Penang curry. Our server was also incredibly sweet and warm. A new neighborhood gem we’ll be coming back to
This spot serves up the best pad Thai I've ever had! The noodles are super chewy, and the sauce is bursting with flavor. Tried the Khao soi beef shank too—it looks crazy spicy, but it's just right. The soup is insanely good; I wanna learn their recipe! It's a bummer they're not busier; this place is too good to close down. Gotta spread the word and keep it alive! 🍜❤️

Omg so delicious!!! I gave up on finding a perfect Thai place and then decided to give it a last try. Mee Dee is AMAZING!! Great great food, kind service and great vibe. I’m a new most loyal customer
This place is in walking distance to my place of work, it is very convenient and have been here several times. I have tried the large array of menu items from their soups, noodles, and everything else they offer. The food is always cooked to perfection, it is always fresh and it gives you an at home feeling. Love that they offer indoor and outdoor dining. 5/5 for me!
10 STARS!!!!

I've gone to all the best Thai places in LA! They know how to COOK!!!
A MUST!!!!
Absolutely loved this new gem. The staff is so friendly and caring. The lamb curry was out of this world. So much flavor and love cooked into it.
Best drunken noodles/pad Thai I’ve ever had, the owner was so friendly and personable. She told us all about the soybean noodles that they use instead of egg noodles and they were so incredible! Highly recommend pad Thai, drunken noodles, chicken satay, and mango sticky rice, the tofu was perfectly fried too!
I have been looking for the best Pad Thai for many years. Today, I found it.
This cute hole in the wall Thai place is going to be a crowd favorite, especially their Tom Yum fries and curry aioli. I also had their vegan curry puff (amazing) and their Drunken Noodle and was so impressed by how perfectly cooked and seasoned everything was. Amazing staff too, family owned and operated and you can tell how much they take pride in their food. Can’t wait to come back!
The best Thai food that I have ever had. Some wonderful fusion dishes on the menu in addition to the classics, which are executed at a level that puts most extremely expensive tie spots to shame.
I won't lie, I was conflicted about writing this because I wanted to keep this a secret, but the food is so amazing and the service is so wonderful and the people running the place are so lovely that I couldn't sleep soundly at night If I didn't tell everyone about this wonderful spot.
Tip: try the Tom yum fries with the green curry alioli. Your life will never be the same.
Delicious food😋 , beautiful presentation and excellent customer service!!!
Very tasty! Loved the curry puff and drunken noodles.
Great ambience service and food. Try the fried rice and pad Thai. Got good veggie options too.
Super tasty food and to add to it, a very friendly host. Loved the fried rice and the crispy rice with.
Would definitely recommend 👍🏻
Really great
