Seafood & Southern Thai Restaurant
Had a chance to have lunch at Jitlada. They have an extensive menu. We were very happy with the food that we ordered. We had the Pad Thai Tamarind Sauce with Mixed Seafood. It was the best Pad Thai we've tasted. Their Garlic Red Snapper is so flavorful. The Garlic Soft Shell Crabs has a nice crunch. Service was very good. We will be back to try their other dishes.
The food is excellent! The service is mixed. The prices are high. Our server initially chastised us for not having everyone present, though the last person was parking the car or front. She pushed hard on the ordering. After that, she disappeared for a full hour.
Besides the service issue from only one person, the other staff was good.
Each dish was stupendously nuanced, and quintessentially Thai with sweet, sour, texture and heat.
The standout was the salad, deepfried - unusual, and the chicken curry.
Jitlada is my new favorite Thai restaurant in town! Yes, it is a bit on the pricey side, but the taste is worth it - and a lot of people seem to agree with that based on the huge popularity. On Thursday around 6pm had to wait about 30 minutes to get a seat, and when I was done, there were even more people waiting in line. The yellow curry with prawn and morning glory was the best, crabmeat fried rice, oxtail soup, and the fried fish were outstanding. Parking is extremely limited, and the serving staff could be more organized, but overall it was worth the wait. Would definitely visit again.
Tasty food. I ordered two entree dishes and specifically asked Thai spicy for both. It was a little disappointing that both came out mild. However, there's a reason why this restaurant has a line out the door as the flavors are bold and the overall atmosphere + service is great. Would definitely return and request for a spicier dish.
I haven’t had a lot of Thai food before so my review can only really be based on how much I enjoyed the dishes subjectively. The crisp morning glory salad very much, minus how it was a little too salty. Despite that it was a little watery, the curry was very enjoyable (especially the vegetarian version). The crying tiger, with its simplicity, was probably the best dish.
I had been wanting to try this place for a while now, so my partner and I went here this evening for my birthday dinner and it did not disappoint. At first glance, it looks like any other Thai restaurant in a strip mall, but the inside is very cozy, charming, and bustling as it was busy for a Sunday (maybe it always is, but we were there on the earlier side so a bit surprised).
We were seated right away despite being busy and were brought lemon water to begin with, and were approached by our server to place an order relatively quickly. Between my partner, and I, we ordered the fresh rolls to start, as well as the papaya salad, and also the curried potato wontons. All three starters were absolutely delicious, and both the papaya salad, and the fresh rolls were indeed fresh, and you could tell were just made moments prior behind us in the kitchen.
The real treat of the night was the massaman curry and the khao soi noodles that my partner and I got for our mains. Both were so unbelievably flavorful and rich that it was hard to choose which was best! The massaman curry was hearty while the khao soi was both nutty and a bit tangy and spicy, creating a rich flavor not like I had tasted before with other Khao Soi dishes elsewhere!
All in all, this was a wonderful experience and the food is absolutely worth it, I will definitely be coming back here and bringing more people and I can’t wait to try other dishes on the menu. Thank you very much, Jitlada!
Went here on a late Thursday afternoon and ordered a Pad see ew noodles and stir fry basil chicken. The stir fry was worthy of all 5 stars, however, the noodles was just meh. It had a weird smell and taste, and the soy sauce was a bit much. We didn’t eat much and left it as is. The mango sticky rice was done really well. All in all two out of three dishes were amazing!
Okay, first off, when you arrive sign in on the clipboard by the restaurant's entrance. Unless you have a large party, there is no need to go in.
Once you sign in, wait. It can be long. Eventually, someone will come out, call names--make sure your whole party is there, and bring people in.
The service was slow. At one point, the owner of the restaurant came around to tables to check in and answer questions. We were so excited because we wanted to ask about some dishes. However, she went to every table around us but ours. That was disappointing.
So, the service was slow. How about the food you ask? It was Delicious! I love good Thai food and have been to Thailand. This ranks with the best food I've had there and my one favorite place in Las Vegas. It was well worth the trip. Authentic, flavorful, and amazing food. Did I mention they had Leo beer to go with this delicious food? Yes they did. I haven't had a Leo since Thailand.
Unbelievable food selection! This place serves up historical charm and flavorful dishes!
delicious food but rude and aggressive cashier
You already know, this place is the bomb!
Excellent Thai food. Extensive menu. Spice levels are serious. Do not underestimate.
Cashier was unwelcoming and indifferent—no greetings
Nice place to have authentic Thai food.
We came here for the first time this evening, and wow- the food and service is excellent! It is a small restaurant so there can be a wait. The parking lot is small and parking in the neighborhood or on sunset can be a challenge. Some highlights from our meal include: Pad Thai, green papaya salad, tom yum gai, pineapple fried rice, spicy red snapper, and pineapple curry with giant prawns. We also had spicy lamb and eggplant; the lamb was melt in your mouth tender. I was extremely impressed with how tender and perfectly cooked all the meats were. Highly recommend trying this spot.
Ok
I have ordered food from Jitlada twice, and both times I felt as though the portion sizes were too small for the price. Additionally, the food was not flavorful. There are much better Thai places to choose from in LA.
I was so delighted to have the best green curry and glass mint noodles!! Soo good!! Loved the vibe and service too.
The food is wonderful, and so is the menu. Crowded for a reason. It’s fun to see what other people order.
Food portions were small for the price. Ordered a garlic pepper soft shell crab and it wasnt even 1 soft shell crab for $22, mostly batter (rice was extra). Flavor was okay but too heavily salted. We also got a pad thai, which for some reason came out like 15 minutes after the crab? It was overcooked and watery.
An old man who was there behind the counter was picking his nose and blowing it right next to our table. Not very appetizing.
Place was full of white people and huge families. This place is not it.
I would highly recommend to visit this restaurant once at least in lifetime when you are at Los Angeles !! The food was excellent and the taste is still rolling on my tongue.. No food can beat Jitlada..having travelled and tasted many cuisine of different cultures, the southern taste beats the rest.. the hospitality and staff as well as the service was excellent beyond par, the main chef who appeared on food network came personally and asked about the food taste.. a very humble and friendly person..though we were the last to leave beyond 11pm, they patiently awaited us.. if I could rate it would be 1000% rating.. ❤️❤️love and thanks to all the staff !! Btw if the owner can remember we were the Indian family visiting on 29/December 2024..!!
This was the best Thai that I have ever had in my life. The coconut soup really stood out. But we had a sampling of dishes and they were all outstanding. We had to wait in line for about an hour, but it was worth it. Doesn't look like much on the outside, but man the food is spectacular.
Delicious, Cozy, Authentic, Welcoming Staff, great fun, a must

I think we may have had an off night or ordered a bit funny. The mussels in lemongrass broth were fantastic, but both the fried morning glory salad and mint noodles felt like they needed an extra chili or something to balance them out, the salad especially wasn't quite spicy enough for how sweet it was. I'd give them another shot though based on the strength of reputation
Incredibly overpriced. Wow. Portion sizes are seriously underwhelming for the money you pay. Unique menu, yes. Great-tasting food, yes. But I cannot justify coming back if the value is so low.
Most amazing thai food in America basically tasts like you are in Thailand without the $2,000 plane ticket
Buena comida
Let me start by saying this review is based on how my food was delivered to me via Uber Eats and the experience I had with the staff at the restaurant as a result.
That being said, last night we were excited to order from Jitlada for dinner. The bill was $101.15 for 4 items; expensive for 2 people but we thought it would be worth it. The food came completely destroyed! Nothing was in its bag. Everything was soggy/wet. It wasn’t raining, I suppose there was a leak, or, perhaps the driver didn’t secure it well enough. Whatever the case, it was when I called the restaurant that was upsetting. I told them politely the experience and asked if, perhaps they could use a cardboard box, or something more secure when putting multiple heavy items with liquids and sauces in a cheal, fragile paper bag. They took absolutely Zero accountability. I just spent (for me) a lot of money on a meal, the least they could do was see to it that when it leaves their restaurant, it’s secure enough to make it to its destination. The rudeness and failure to take any accountability was off putting. It seemed as though with all their (much deserved) praise and positive reviews, they act untouchable.

Actually I don’t need to review 1 star for you. But the thing that happened with me about services it’s badly ever that I met.
A perennial LA favorite, loved by former LA Times food critic Jonathan Gold's. We visited after a year, and I felt that the taste was not as good as before. Maybe Jazz (the chef/owner) is not cooking anymore?
Anyway, I would not make the trek through LA traffic to eat there, as there are so many good Thai restaurants nearby.
Excellent food. Amazing portions. Wish I had two stomach as the food is that good!
Had a chance to have lunch at Jitlada. They have an extensive menu. We were very happy with the food that we ordered. We had the Pad Thai Tamarind Sauce with Mixed Seafood. Dope
4th time there and no more. twice (last 2 times) we have had to wait on food for over 45 minutes while subsequent guests have been served. Tonight we ordered 2 fried rice and pepper chicken. Waited 45 minutes and chicken came out. another 30 and one rice, then 15 minutes second rice dish came. Both rice dishes had so much salt they were uneatable and had to be returned. Taste is average and service was just terrible. Lots of Thai restaurants, try another.
The food is excellent! The service is mixed. The prices are high. Our server initially chastised us for not having everyone present, though the last person was parking the car or front. She pushed hard on the ordering. After that, she disappeared for a full hour.

I wanted to like this place so bad because it's touted to be very authentic and has a very long history with an incredibly extensive menu. But alas, I didn't like the food. The soup had too much salt. The curry had an odd aftertaste and the beef texture while really tender was not what I was expecting from a sauteed dish. Sadness.
Went here on a late Thursday afternoon and ordered a Pad see ew noodles and stir fry basil chicken. The stir fry was worthy of all 5 stars, however, the noodles was just meh. Closed for many years
The best Thai in town.
Best meal of my life. Worth the wait!
the SALADS and the specials are always the way to go

An extensive menu of fantastic food at reasonable prices.
Wow very very good
Very good, well executed Thai cuisine. Very large menu you can get lost. Steamed mussels are a must.
Some of the most authentic thai I’ve had since Thailand. Truly up there with the best in every way. Thai food made the thai way for the right price. Portion sizes are great and they have plenty of options for people who are gluten free and vegan. Been loving getting takeout from here as well.
It took us one hour to get our fried rice and there’s even a hair on it. Worst experience ever.
Great sushi, excellent service 👍
A great restaurant that is equally unassuming as it is a stand out. Nestled amongst what seems to be a typical strip mall in LA, is some of the best Thai food I’ve had. The restaurant is no-frills and the walls are covered with articles praising the restaurant. I recommend the fried crab. Bring your appetite!
Lord, how do I start this review off?? So it was my birthday weekend here in LA so thai food was on my list for this day. I had 3 options so I decided on this restaurant. We arrived and it was hella packed! no parking, filled inside, and line outside of people waiting for their name to be called. So naturally, your thinking like omg I made an amazing choice and I'm about to inhale all this food right?! I went inside to go use the bathroom and I ran into the owner and I said omg aren't you the owner of this restaurant you were on jeannie mai youtube channel!? Jeannie mai had posted a video back in 2020 of her favorite thai restaurant in LA and it so happened that it was this one! So we waited outside for like 15 mins and we went inside to our table. The menu is huge with too many options. Honestly we were all overwhelmed and asked the waiter to tell us what she recommended and we went with almost all of them.
First we had appetizers, which were the crying tiger and the crispy duck rolls. Lord have mercy, the crying tiger was dry and so was the crispy duck rolls. I even asked the waiter why these 2 were so dry and she said its crispy and thats how it is and also you might be used to the slices of steak at other restaurants. Im thinking inside my head like there is a difference between crispy and dry. Like im not stupid -.-
Ok now onto the dishes. The BBQ squid came first then the green chicken curry, followed by the crab meat noodles and lastly was the morning glory.
Lord here we go. The BBQ squid was sweet, the green chicken curry was not bad but I asked for a not so spicy curry and this one was like burning my mouth spicy. The crab meat noodles were sweet as well. Then the morning glory was also sweet. We were all sitting there eating and saying did the chef confused the jar of salt with the jar of sugar?!?! Every single dish of the appetizers and dishes were all so damn sweet! Then it started to all make sense. The people that were dining there was mainly white people, a touch of indian and a touch of asians. Im like oh this is "one of those spots". Where its hella busy but the food doesn't taste good at all. My total for the bill was $144.21 and I even tipped 20% because its rude to not tip but it was not worth $172 at all!!
My suggestion to Mama Jazz would be to sit down with your whole team. Close the doors either before work or after work. Cook these dishes normally how you would with the normal chef that you use. Sit down all together at the table and EAT IT! There is no way every single person that is working there doesn't taste the sugar! Its like eating diabetes! Please fix this!
In the end, just don't bother going here is all I'm going to tell you.
We were so looking forward to eating here, we’ve come before and things were fine. But this time we were very disappointed.
We placed our order with someone who seemed to be in charge (said she was a manager, green nails she said her visiting niece did for her, they were gorge), but then she took our order and we never saw her again. We waited and watched every table around us get their food before us, even tables that were groups and had ordered way after we did. We didn’t see the manager person who took our order for 30 minutes, then we finally got the nerve to go up and ask about our order. They left to check, (it was obvious we’d been forgotten) 20 minutes later our food came out. No sorry, no acknowledgment of the time. We were hoping the food would make up for it…
But it was the most bland pad see ew I’ve ever had, and I expected more from Jitlada. I will say the crispy duck rolls were incredible, and the massamun curry was good (but not exceptional)- but for the time we waited (and for all the acclaim of Jitlada) would have expected a better food experience.
Eggplant/Salmon curry 10/10
Mango Sticky rice 10/10
Truly a meal I won’t forget
The wait to be seated is endless despite wide open tables sitting vacant. Plan to put your name down and wait because of poor service. I used to eat here years ago when the service and food was fantastic. The food was average and has gone down hill for sure. Not sure if all the great chefs left giving them a much better rating and experience. We sat for hours and hours as only one dish came out at a time among four people who ordered 6 dishes.
Had a delicious curry with salmon and eggplant. A little pricey but at least portions aren't tiny. Servers were fast and attentive. Got the early to avoid the crowds and they definitely came quickly after opening. Only complaint was I was seated at a table next to the window and there was a constant buzz from a neon light. Fix for that of course is to not sit against the window but the rest of the space is kind of dark.
Every employee seemed very sad… no smiles , no friendliness.. no thank yous..practice better customer service skills.
Average quality. Small amount in a dish.
this is the best thai food on the east side of the city.
Yum. Yum yum yum. And also had leftovers, which also promise to have a yummy tomorrow!
OVERHYPED / OVERPRICED
Ordered for Delivery
Not any better than the Chinese or Thai food we get from our local spots. Was expecting something elevated based on all the hype and the $8-12 premium per item.
Garlic and pepper crispy pork - the pork fat was not rendered properly and was gelatinous, and the meat was chewy, not crispy.
Mongolian beef was basic, and the few pieces of beef we could find under the bamboo forest were gray, lacking any appetizing color, and there was no kick in the flavor whatsoever.
Tamarind Pad Thai again lacking in protein (meh chunks of chicken) and without any of that special tamarind punch.
Aside from the Pad Thai, serving sizes were comically small for the price. We paid extra for the crispy pork and there were 5 pieces in the box.
Heard so much hype for this place, was excited to order, and ultimately was supremely disappointed.
found on all the best restaurant lists, jitlada has made a name for itself in los angeles and rightfully so. even with all the hype, the place remains a humble establishment just serving authentic thai dishes in a no-frills environment. looking through their massive menu, you’ll be sure to find something you’ll like. just be warned, it is spicy! overall, would come back and rank this similarly to luv2eat.
crying tiger: really flavorful and loved the crispy texture. slightly spicy flavor balanced with sweet dip. small portion though.
papaya salad: no-frills dish, spicy! nice refreshing appetizer
catfish curry: perfect on a cold day, catfish was plentiful and loved the tangy+spicy flavor in the curry
pad see ew: pleasantly surprised. typically not wow’d by this standard noodle dish but this was a sleeper hit with the tofu!
I had an incredibly disappointing experience here. From the moment we walked in, we were completely ignored. We waited for 20 minutes at our table, and not a single staff member bothered to take our order. After another half-hour passed with no sign of our food, I had to get up and ask about our order. Even then, the staff showed no interest in our experience and didn’t check if everything was okay.
Throughout the entire time, the service was extremely rude and unwelcoming. This was, without a doubt, one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a pleasant or even decent dining experience.
Stopped by Jitlada for lunch after a hike. We ordered the fresh rolls, the Jitlada fried rice (sadly not pictured), and Pad See Ew with beef. Everything was fantastic! The Jitlada fried rice was like nothing I've ever tasted before. The portion size was perfect for lunch. The service was quick and friendly. The price for the food wasn't cheap but it wasn't terribly expensive either. I would say it's worth checking out, if you're in the mood for Thai. I might go back to Jitlada on my next trip to L.A.
This was on my list of restaurants to go to when I visited LA and it has absolutely amazing food! Interior can get a little cramped but totally worth it. Definitely will visit again next time I'm in the area
Food tastes delicious and unique; but the portions are small without much protein ( we ordered crying tiger and green bean curry). For this amount of food, meals are expensive. The curry meal was soup like; I would expect it to be more viscous.
Also, menu has more than 500 items.
It’s overwhelming to order from such a large menu. I recommend having a signature dish menu for those who come to the restaurant for the first time.
super bad service!!! Not worth to try at all. Don’t believe any reviews!!!!
Best curry I've ever had. No question. Menu has great variety. You are sure to find something for everyone.
This is a small stuffy restaurant. We chose it because we were in the area and usually Thai is a very safe choice for taste and nutrition. This place is Michelin and also featured in Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.
My husband ordered Salmon curry and I ordered mullet-fish with curry and taro roots.
Salmon curry was prepared in a reasonable time as the restaurant was filling. We were asked if we want white rice. I asked for the options and got brown and didn't know that was extra till I saw the bill. Large beer is $12 and Thai tea is $6.
15 minutes after my husband's dish has come and consumed by the two of us, we barely could catch the waitress who never checked on us to ask if they forgot the other dish. She quickly told us, it is coming and dismissed us.
Later on that dish came and now it ruined my "Never had Thai food I didn't like" streak forever. The pungent sauce and the thick thick fish taste (I eat fish only and all the time, this was really very thick taste like old and freezer burned) really disappointed me.
Never will be back and more than half of the dish I took home is not going to be consumed because as my husband put it, it smells like bad BO like 100 gym lockers put into one soup :(
Funky atmosphere, subpar service and wrong tasting food with overcharges ...
Phenomenal food. The hype is real. It's the best Thai food you'll find. We ordered the Stuffed Chicken Wings, Jungle Curry Pork (spicy) and the Beef Massaman Curry.
Stuffed chicken wings are something to behold, deboned and stuffed with meat and noodles served with a nice dipping sauce.
Jungle curry was hot, nicely cooked pork, fresh peppercorns and bright vegetables. Served on a flame, it keeps warm throughout the meal.
Massaman was more of a "traditional" flavor, coconut creamy, a little sweet, and quite mild heat level.
The staff were great, friendly and passionate. A younger waitress told us all about the process of making the stuffed chicken wings - really, they are a feat of Thai cuisine.
A strong recommendation, but do plan to wait if you go on a weekend. We went on a Tuesday night and still waited 10 minutes.
There is parking, but it's limited.
The food is absolutely delicious, but a word to the wise: call ahead if you have a gift card. I was really excited to get to have a more extravagant meal than usually ever can afford to have, and when it came time to pay, I was told that they couldn't accept the gift card because the manager / owner wasn't there.
I was obviously pretty upset but we just paid our very expensive bill and left because I guess there was nothing to be done about it. Bummer.
Southern style Thai food that brings the heat! If you don't like or can't handle spicy don't worry, they have an entire section of the menu that isn't spicy.
Overall the prices are reasonable, the food is amazing and the dishes are truly authentic. Vegetarian friendly too if that's your thing.
Will visit every time I'm in LA.
Most dishes very good, a few outstanding, some just ok.
Best around, go deep on the menu so so much great food!
HUGE menu, you could come here for a year and eat something different daily. Best thai food I've had. The only place so far to beat Glai Baan in Phoenix.
Pomelo salad was refreshing and savory, I can have this every day in LA. #107 in special curry and the crying tiger beef were also amazing
This was my first time here and the food is very tasty and from what I can tell, very authentic. We ordered Jungle curry crispy pork (no eggplant no bell pepper), Taepo duck curry, Green curry, Spicy seafood salad, Thai Spring rolls and Spring roll, I had everything except the spring rolls and everything I had tasted great.
Keeping in mind that we came here on a Friday around 8pm… From the time we got seated until the waiter came to our table for the first time to ask us for our orders it took about 10 mins. From then until the time we got the first order to our table took about 25 minutes and it wasn’t everything. The next round of deliveries came about 35 minutes after we ordered and still everything was not out. After 43 minutes we got all our food, finally! The service was very slow but the place was full and the food was worth the wait.
Our favorite item we ordered was the Jungle curry crispy pork, the pork was pork belly which I love but I mean everything tasted so good, this just happened to be our favorite.
This place has a huge menu, pretty much go through the menu beforehand and don’t go in there blind. I don’t think I have ever been to a more authentic Thai food spot, ever. They also have food from 2 regions, which contributes to the thoroughness of the menu.
The restaurant is very popular and quite small, every seat was full and there was a wait list, but we got there at 7:50pm on a Friday and only waited 10 minutes to be seated.
Parking is pretty bad, little parking lot up front which I can’t see a world where it’s not completely full, there’s street parking which is also packed but we found a spot and it’s free after 8pm apparently.
Also this is quintessential LA, don’t be surprised if you see stereotypical LA things.
My fav Kao Soi and Wings in LA
Came in with a party of 3 and the restaurant was slow to medium busy. Got seated right away and asked about appetizers. Once we ordered appetizers we were not approached by our waitress again for another 30 minutes. 2 entrees came out in about 30 minutes and the other one came out after an hour. Multiple parties that were sat after us got all of their entrees before us. When we asked to get the dish taken off the bill because an hour wait is unacceptable, we were met with rudeness and were dismissed. I asked a waiter to see the manager and they ignored us. When I was finally able to flag down the manager myself I was met with rudeness again and they doubled down that the meal can’t be taken off the bill. We finally were able to get 50% of the meal after a little back and forth. This place was highly recommended and we all left disappointed. I would skip and go somewhere else. And my Pad See Ew noodles were too salty
Best Thai food in town. Maybe even the best I’ve ever had. I am a huge Thai food fan and this place left me dancing from the deliciousness of their food. I had their green curry, their pineapple rice and their mango sticky rice for dessert. The staff is lovely and fast. The food of the highest quality, I didn’t feel heavy afterwards and I ate so so much. The place has such a cute and authentic vibe. Highly recommend you guys come down here sooner than later!!! P.S. four of us are there and shared a bunch of things and the bill was only $100 ! 🥰
They got my order completely wrong. Were a bit rude to me over the phone and not cooperating until i had to show up to the restaurant. They did end up helping me change my order in the end but it was a big ordeal and honestly didn’t have to be. They told a member of my party “sorry you couldn’t tolerate the spice” not a very professional way to respond when you got their our wrong. Overall i won’t be eating here again but if you can go in person the food is good. Just make sure they don’t get your order wrong, they aren’t easy to cooperate with.
I ordered $200 worth of food
We all ordered medium spicy and all dishes were marked spicy and four of us could not
even eat our dinner. When I called to ask what we could do about our dinner being wrong - they told me that they didn’t make pad Thai spicy. They were so rude and told me that they didn’t make the pad Thai spicy then the woman I spoke with told me that the spicy chilis were on top! Which one is it??? Our pad Thai was inedible!!! The picture below clearly was marked spicy.
After 50 years of great food and service what a sad experience.
They yelled at me and said that they would call me back cause they other customers they were helping. Wow.
We ordered medium spicy, we have evidence on the receipt. The food came and the box was labeled spicy and was too hot to eat. The issue wasn’t as bad as it should have been however when we called the people were extremely disrespectful, arguing with us and even hanging up. Very disappointed with the rudeness of the employees. Practically yelling as they won’t let us talk and doesn’t want to help us to solve the situation. I am still in shock with how rudely not 1 but 2 of them handled the issue.
We ordered dinner for 6 people and when it was delivered 4 of the 6 dishes were wrong. When we called to let them know about the mistakes they were extremely rude and disrespectful. They never once apologized or tried to make things right.
With all the nearby options and the ridiculously high prices we will never eat there again. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE
I am from out of town - wanted some authentic Thai foods - saw some great reviews - we had a large group of 8 people .. when we walked in - we didn’t feel welcoming ! One of the guy ask if we needed help - well of course - he wasn’t pleasant at all !! Told us to wait and came back and told us to go to table near the wall that was prepare for us - didn’t point where to go - but sure what his problem was !! When he came to take our orders - he was rushing us - there were so many dishes we wanted to try - but wanted to kinda ask about certain dishes !! Even with all that we did order what we knew and still spent over $300 !!! I would only recommend this place if the service was better !!! I won’t be returning here when we are here to visit and we come often !!!
Amazing "hidden" Thai restaurant. Local friends took us for dinner and absolutely loved. Huge menu with lots of great options from where to choose, and real original Thai dishes and flavor. Will come back to try more dishes surely. Eel and crab noodles were delicious! And sticky mango rice was absolutely incredible
The food was too good and unique as well. It's not your regular Thai restaurant. The crying tiger pork and the steamed mussels were the winners for me. All those with a spicy tongue should definitely try their spicy tamarind drink. The crispy morning glory salad tastes too good to be a salad. If you still want to try a Thai curry but are bored of the usual red or green curries, try their southern spice curry.
Tasteless food and very expensive for what they offer
Pretty good Thai spot. Got the shrimp pad see ew, honey duck, and crying tiger. Smaller portion sizes than I’m used to, but the taste was really good.
We came to Jitlada after it was recommended by my sister who spent the summer doing an internship in Los Angeles , and saw how popular it was. We got to the restaurant right at 5 which is the ideal time because once we were sitting for a bit there was a line out the door. They brought us waters which had no ice, and never took our drink order. We were still looking at the menu when the waitress came because it is massive and she took 5 + minutes to come back plus she wouldn’t look in our direction which was annoying. They took a while to bring the food and completely forgot about my dish. We had to tell the waitress and she acted like she forgot about it. The food was really good though, we got the traditional coconut curry with white rice, the prawn glass noodles and the spicy lamb rack with fried rice. We also got the mango sticky rice for dessert, which was yummy. The atmosphere was nothing special, and we just had a bad experience with the service. But we recommend the restaurant and would go back
BEST Thai restaurant!!! At Jitlada, you're family, with food cooked to order using great care, love and made from the heart! Every dish has its own distinct flavor that complements the entire meal and awakens the senses! We always look forward to seeing the staff! Truly one of my favorites!
The food is “just ok” but prices are VERY high for what you get. For $21 we got a tiny bowl of curry that was mostly sauce with a few piece of chicken and some bamboo shoots floating around in there. $2 for the plain steamed rice that is included when you buy a meal at every other restaurant I have been to. $75 dollar bill and we went home hungry. After I saw the content of the entrees I gave up and didn’t want to order more food. The restaurant is terrible to sit in - cramped tables, no A/C, miserable acoustics. On a busy night you feel like you’re sitting inside a drum set someone is playing. It’s hot, loud and you have no space to sit. Parking is also a nightmare even on less busy days and times. The food used to be pretty great and the portions were reasonable as were prices. Was very disappointed on this last visit and don’t plan to be back.
Amazing cozy restaurant with too many enticing options to just go once. Absolutely loved everything we tried and it was cool to see the owner helping out with customers. (Also a lovely friendly woman to chat with!) I'll definitely be dragging everyone I know to Jitlada so I can eat my way through the menu :)
Geweldig gegeten bij deze thai in Los Angeles. Zeker de moeite waard om dit restaurant te bezoeken. Prijzen zijn eveneens oké. Top.
Ordered mango sticky rice with coconut ice cream to go and my wife passed by to pick it up.
When I opened the bag the rice was still warm and had a nice presentation. Ice cream was inside a container inside a bag with ice, not melted!
Thanks for going above and beyond to ensure the ice cream stayed frozen longer.
12/8/22: Huge menu of close to 400 items. Had the Crispy Morning Salad (4.75*), Coco Blue Crab soup (4.5*), Crying Tiger Beef (4.5*), Celebrity Chicken 4.25*), and the Mango Sticky Rice (4.5*).
1/14/23: Had the Khao Yum rice salad (kind of boring, though it was my friend's favorite, 4.0*), Southern Mussel Curry (4.4*), and the Pad See Ew (well prepared but I can never get that excited about Thai noodles, 4.0*).
2/3/23: Had #189 "Soft Shell Crab Noodles." Battered fried soft shell crab with wide flat noodles (very good, 4.5*)
2/22/23: Had #38 "Spicy Crab Meat Soup"
5/25/24: Had the Jazz burger. It's a burger with Thai chilies inside and sweet sauce and no bun. It was decent but I wouldn't order again considering the much better other dishes here.
I love the place and the dynamite challenge is to die for. The food is delicious and painful. I finished the whole plate and I'm sorry with the amount of napkins i used. I feel sorry for their toilet my toilet.
Excellent Thai food and service by Jazz and all the team. The Garlic Red Snapper was super tasty, I might suggest to add a little bit of more quantity to the dish tho. The mango sticky rice for dessert is a must.... Thanks!
delicious food.
One of the best Thai places I’ve been too. They also have southern Thai cuisine which I haven’t seen elsewhere. Be sure to get there early as they don’t take reservations, so the wait can become a long later on.
The spicy brown fried rice is amazing especially if you enjoy the flavour of massaman curry. The khua kling phat lung was a nice curry with a heavy flavour of turmeric, which I hadn’t tried before. The southern curry also is great and can get real spicy. The spring rolls are nice but nothing extraordinary about them.
AWFUL CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE 5/11!!!!
Very disappointing and will not come back. My wife and I ordered three dishes (crying tiger, soft shell crab curry, and Thai fried rice). Each dish was served 30 mins after each other. First dish received was crying tiger(4/5), 25-30 mins later the curry(3/5), and another 30 mins later FINALLLY the fried rice(3/5) came by then the curry was cold.
IT TOOK AN HOUR for fried rice and it was served last??? I almost wanted to just cancel the fried rice because it took so long. To top it off the portion sizes were very small for the price.
I would not recommend this place
Been coming to jitlada for 15 years now and it never disappoints! My go to dishes are the southern curry (jitlada spicy) soft shell crab (garlic or curry) and the spicy salmon rolls! I've also had other staples like pad kee mao , pad thai , glass noodles w prawn in a clay pot..jungle noodles, kua Kling etc. Everything is just divine. The food can be Hella spicy so be cautious of ordering off the southern Thai menu. I would describe it as heaven and hell on a plate. In the true thai style the food is made fresh and comes out as its made, so there may be a bit of a wait and the dishes may come out in random order. So just breathe, chill out and enjoy!
Came here because of Bobby Flay. Ridiculously large menu (over 400 dishes).
Half of it on green paper, other half printed on white. I was later told it separates the northern Thai from the southern Thai dishes. Both sides could probably use some editing.
Despite the clearly intimidating menu for the uninitiated, the waitstaff seemed unnecessarily aggressive, expecting us to know what we wanted moments after being seated. I imagine this was because we were seated 30 minutes before their afternoon 90 minute closure. And we were reminded of that when the bill came. But if you wanted everyone to be gone by the time of your posted closing then you should probably only take to go orders the last 60 minutes of service.
Regardless, we chose poorly for the appetizer (fried shrimp covered in a tamarind sauce) but the entree's were great. We'd love to come back, there are so many options, though service has to be better.
I challenge all not to get pad Thai or whatever your usually Thai go to is...
Service is fast. Big menu with loads of options. We loved what we ordered and vowed to come back to try some of their other stuff.
Not your ordinary Thai restaurant. Best Thai restaurant (in Thai town) that specializes southern Thai cuisine. They have ordinary Thai dishes too, but order their specialties dishes, they blow away mediocre Thai😍😋😋😋
Came here because of the place's reputation, EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED in their service. It took an HOUR for any of my party of 3 to get our food. Absolutely insane and unacceptable wait for a restaurant of this size. Also, despite telling the waitress that we were disappointed with how long it took for the food to come and that we saw other parties that came after us get their order before us, all she said was "oh." No care, no consolation, nothing. If you visit this place for the reputation like we did, arrived with a generously opened mind because it is definitely NOT what we expected.
Food was AMAZING... We actually wanted to stay and order more food and dessert. But the waiting staff was horrific in their services. They didn't bring our food out together... nor the tables around us. Our dishes were practically locked clean the food was good.. but our dirty dishes sat in front of us for nearly 30 minutes before anyone ever checked on us. They never refilled any kf our drinks. Might come back for the food one day but this was quite the buzz kill for our experience here.
best thai in town. extensive menu with chef specials and interesting southern thai options, cool protein choices like oxtail and mixed seafood, a very fun homey yet hip vibe, great lighting and great atmosphere. kao soi with pork and oxtail curry were my favorites. i went for my bday w/ 15ppl and they were super accommodating. be warned that it is walk-in only and they will not seat you until your entire party has arrived.
Food is good
We are big Food Network fans, so had to pay a visit to local celebrity chef Jazz (featured with Guy Fieri and Bobby Flay).
The menu is HUGE, but you can order some of the "starred items" which was helpful. I recommend sticking with the "Southern Thai" page of the menu if you want to try something new outside of your usual Thai staples..
The Crying Tiger dish was my favorite!
We went with medium spice level which was perfect for a bit of heat but not overwhelming.
Food came out very quickly and service was friendly.
Jazz even goes around greeting all guests and is super sweet.
A very unique Thai restaurant that’s a cut above most others. Had the Jazz burger, which was originally made by the owner as an American-Thai dish for her children. It was very good and quite the experience. Would definitely come back again to try out more items on their massive menu.
Memories of my girlfriend Sherry and some of the spiciest and most wonderful Thai Curry in the city. If you get a chance, it's worth the trip.
But be prepared to open your wallet!
Haven't actually gone inside just Cruised by ? Looks friendly hmm you tell me ?
They had many gluten free options.
We got the Pumpkin Red Snapper ($24.95) and the Green Tiger Prawns ($33.95), and asked for less spicy. The sauces were a little spicy for me, but I was still able to eat it. The pumpkin red snapper was tasty, although it seemed like it had a lot of batter. There wasn’t a lot of fish pieces. The green tiger prawns come with 5 pieces, and it was super tender. I also enjoyed this curry because it was slightly sweet. The menu is very extensive here, so lots of options. Overall enjoyed the dishes, but they were quite pricey for the size.
Maybe I came on an unfortunate night, but I was less than impressed with Jitlada.
We ordered four entrees for four people, family style, with two sides of rice. The eggplant and salmon curry was good. The padthai arrived half an hour after all the other dishes, and was definitely sub par, and the Crying Tiger pork was to cry for because of the scarcity of the portion (also the lack of spices, it clearly didn’t take much to make that tiger cry).
Overall the food was not impressive and the quantity was something short of satisfactory. After four entrees we were all still pretty hungry. I would not call the place expensive, but the value for money was still very low.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Jitlada Restaurant and it was an experience I won't soon forget. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that set the tone for the evening.
The Pad Thai Tamarind (Vegetarian) customized with fried tofu (without egg), was an absolute delight. Each bite was bursting with flavor, showcasing the chef's skill and attention to detail. The Vegetable Fried Rice (without egg) was equally impressive, with its vibrant colors and fresh ingredients tantalizing my taste buds with every forkful.
My husband couldn't resist trying the Koong Pear (Shrimp) and it's easy to see why it's one of the restaurant's most popular dishes. The crispy exterior gave way to succulent shrimp, enveloped in a delicious coconut and basil coating that left us craving more.
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the owner, Jazz Singsanong, for creating such a welcoming and delicious dining experience. Her passion for her restaurant and dedication to providing top-notch cuisine was evident in every aspect of our visit. Jazz is truly a wonderful lady and her presence adds an extra layer of warmth and hospitality to an already exceptional dining establishment.
Overall, our experience at Jitlada was nothing short of outstanding. I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu offerings. Highly recommended for anyone looking for delicious food and genuine hospitality.

Simply excellent, but seriously consider whether you can handle an authentic level of spice. Eating was a masochistic delight, but I hazard there wasn't a stomach from our table that went home happy that night.
Food is just so great
