Full service restaurant, food, beers, beverages and desserts
After visiting Da Vien for Vietnamese style teas and coffee our appetite was stirring for some Thai food.
We wanted to go to another Thai Restaurant down Garden Grove Blvd, however the spot was too small and too packed. We took a little drive further down and found Thai Avenue.
The restaurant looked pretty inviting even during lunch hour on a Sunday.
Ordered their fish cake appetizer for starters and they were absolutely delicious even though Mom didn't think they would be good for the first try.
Next 2 orders of Pad Thai, Pah Kee Mao, and I got the Khao Kai which was amazing to my taste buds and palate. My first try of this amazing flat rice noodle dish and I will get this again for sure.
Pah Kee Mao (aka drunken noodles) was also a hit here and if you enjoy this Thai dish, you won't go wrong here.
The Pad Thai was a bit too sweet to be honest, I understand different cooks, different locations. I have had so many different styles of Pad Thai and a hint or a dab more of some tamarind and less sugar would have made it.
Mom and daughter both didn't like it either.
So all in all with the exception of their Pad Thai being too sweet, the Thai Cuisine was a 4 out of 5 stars.
Restaurant is clean, organized, friendly & accommodating service.
They did a great job here, thank you Thai Avenue.
Thai restaurant with a very authentic flavor flavor. The level of spice is off the chart and we love it.
Prices are a little higher, while portions were on the small side. The staffs are all helpful and attentive. FYI, they automatically add the tip for party of six or greater.
Authentic Thai food and a friendly staff
Flavor!! Mmmmmmmm!!!! Get desert. Beef soup was packed with flavor. Dip the meat in the Thai ground chiles😭
Average Thai food
The noodles soups here… omg… A1, top of the line, full of blasting flavor, well balanced, top notch, possibly even better than Thailand or equal. Definitely so far my go to Thai noodle soup spot!
First time trying, getting take out, service great, food delicious and deals are great like the fried rice. Hope to experience this place more.

Best Thai food I’ve ever had. It’s better than Thai food in Thailand. And I’ve been there many times. There’s only 2 restaurants in Thailand that rival the flavor and quality of this place. It’s like eating at a Michelin without the price and the difficulties associated with it. Can’t recommend enough. Food is spicy so make sure you can handle it or order everything mild spicy.
The food is incredible. I cannot recommend this place enough if you want Thai.
Pork shoulder. Papaya salad. Tom Yum. Fish in lemon sauce. These are my favorite.
Great Thai food and frienly services.
Great first experience here and Nikki was amazing with service, kindness, and a tantalizing array of Thai cuisines for all!
The food was good but it was very sour.
Some of the best yellow curry and sticky rice I have had in years. The staff are also very polite.
Good food, good portion sizes.
Not only top quality food but the way they cook is amazing. Panang Curry & Shrimp Fried Rice were our choice.
Some of the best Thai food in OC.
very spicy but also very good
3 ***1/2* average Thai restaurant.. it was a nice cleanliness friendly services thru out the entire visit.. Foods were Average 3***1/2 - 4**** prepared n tasted2.. *also, a little **PRICY on ALL their courses..
I am very disappointing of a business hours is close at work hours I was really looking forward for dinner here
Food is delicious and price is fair. I will go back again
Feels a little expensive, but taste and service is right on point , good service and good ambiance. Will definitely go back and there traditional dishes are best.
Real thai taste 😋. Everything was so good.
Yoi have to get their Crying Tiger, Grilled Prawn Pad Thai, and Soft Shell Crab. It’s my go-to combo
This place is so good. Never disappoints. Pad see ew is my go to. I've never had papaya salad and although this had a kick that I don't normally like, the flavor was really, really good. I recommend this restaurant.
Everything bland and tasteless

Siempre que vengo aqui a recoger ordenes aparte de mala atencion como se tardan agarre una orde. 10 minutos antes y ya llevo esperando 20 y nada
The food and the service are phenomenal!! We had the fried squid, spicy thai beef salad and the soft shell crab. The fried squid was the best we have ever had from coast to coast. The soft shell crab was so delicately fried. When we were all done we ordered another order of the fried squid 🐙. Thus place is an hour drive for us and we will be back.
LUNCH; Excellent crispy fried squid appetizer (clean fryer oil), Very good Pad Thai. Quick friendly and service, everything came out of the kitchen hot, and delicious. A bit pricy for the neighborhood but the quality and flavour are well worth a repeat visit. I highly recommend Thai Ave!!!
It is so delicious! The waiter is so nice and kind!
It was pretty good. Nice small place. Somewhat authentic.. Would go again to try other dishes. Nice clean place.
Best spicy catfish
Today, Friday, 3/11/2022, 3 of us dined in and ordered Tom yum seafood soup, pineapple fried rice, pad thai, chicken sate, and mango sticky rice for dessert. We finished all of them because every single dish is so delicious. BEST one.
Best Coconut soup o have had. Definitely will be back
Staff was very friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious! Definitely one of my favorite places to eat in Garden Grove
Excellent Thai food there and very good service.
Excellent food, and service.
Pretty tasty, I ordered the spicy basil fried rice with chicken. Unfortunately, they mixed up our order and I received mild. They gave me some red pepper flakes to put on it which made it a little spicier. The waitress was polite and attentive the establishment was clean also.
Amazing food and service. Super authentic as well.
This is a local whole in the wall. Its an authentic Thai restaurant with amazing staff and delicious food. I've come here twice in a week because I'm so hooked on how great the food is. They have outdoor and indoor dining as well as take out.I highly recommend coming here.
Compared to Banana Bay in Rowland Heights, the city of Bangkok, the famous thai restaurant in San Fran, and the many Thai places I've been to, I would say this place is a local gem. It's worth it, come give it a try.
This place produced the first dish that my wife stole from me and even sipped the remaining soup after I took it back and finished it.
This dish was the Boat Noodle. Simply delicious with tender beef sunken in an opaque sweet and sour soup.
The chicken sate was moist and tender as well. Just piling the sauce and the pickled vegetables onto the the chicken was a challenge, yet satisfying.
My wife loved her soft shell crab curry but I know she was eyeing my boat noodle.
I tried the Nam Tok but I'm a weaksauce to the pepper paste in this dish, so I couldn't enjoy it as much as a Thai would be able to.
First time visitor. Taking an order to a friend today
Delicious food.
Food was good.Service was bad.
Flavor is on point for the tom yum dish. Other dish we got were Tom koong fried rice and Pad Thai. The seasoning is good on the Pad Thai. The fried rice is kinda lump together but i guess that how this dish is. Worth a try and may come back for the tomyum
I wonder why this place is underated. We came in without any expectations because we were too hungry to care for an option. After finishing ALL of the dishes we ordered, all we can say is that Thai Avenue is extraordinary restaurant. I am sure you will be satisfied by anything you order in here. The staff is too friendly to be true. Will comeback for more of Thai food soon! Thank you Thai Avenue 😁
Good food, great service! Best time to come here for the best prices are during lunch time on weekdays and happy hours.
Very friendly and clean. Even food looks very neat and clean. Delicious green curry
Service was good. Food was good. But place is not that big, so it's not good for a huge group of 6+. Price is decent. The crying tiger dish came in small portion, in my opinion and so i'd say it's not worth the price it was. Not good for large groups to share. Good enough for 2 only.
Good food and good service
Had the freshwater shrimp tom yum. Very good. Papaya salad laos style was very salty. Pad thai with freshwater shrimp was too dry, not enough sauce. Overall food was decent. Got an extra star for the amazing service. The waitress/proprietress was by herself, but was helpful, friendly, and quick.
So delicious! Staff is always so helpful and friendly. Their food is very filling and doesn't feel heavy.
Very good recomend the pad thai
Great food
Amazing pad thai. Seriously the best I've ever had. I've had a good share of pad thais over the years. This is my favorite. Now, why not a 5 star?
The big prawn is nice, but a bit gimmicky, all made up by the amazing sauce they give you to go along with. But still, gimmicky.
The other reason that it didn't get a 5 star was because we ordered 2 additional items that left us with some, how shall I say, eyebrow raising concerns. One, the fried rice (beef) was pretty bland, like big time.
And the chicken wings, which turned out to be tiny wings because they cut the 2-bone wings into 2 separate pieces. So you think you're getting wings, when instead you're getting "wings." They were pretty good, but that split the wing in 2 just seemed odd.
Yummy foods.. love the tum yum soup with lemon grass!!!!
Good com.fried rice clean and nice sevice great food just go and see for yourself.thanks you
Food was good
Bad Experience
So surprised & disappointed by Yelp reviewers.
I hope not because of the complementary Thai tea!!!!
The questions is " Have you guys really try the foods???"
Pros:
Good location
Nice & cozy place
Staffs were friendly & helpful
Nice complementary Thai tea if you check-in with Yelp
Cons:
Hard find parking
The Egg rolls were horrible
Crying Tiger (1 tiny slices of beef - unflavored, touch & chewy
(Please go try out other restaurants & learn from it) - $10
redicuous price
Boat beef noodle (lack of seasoning with 2 meat balls) - Terrible
Red Curry (beef) - big disappointment
Pad See Ew (chicken & shrimp) - 2 shrimps & 8 pieces of chicken
(under seasoning, dry & horrible tastes)
Would never recommend to anyone & never come back there again!
Good Thai foods. The portion is generous. The restaurant is clean and nice.
Great delicious authentic Thai food! Wonderful service and friendly staffs. Stopped there 3 days in a row during the visit in the area.
Ordered to following dishes;
-Grill Baby Octupus (ordered every meal; authentic Thai street snack. Goes well with spicy lime juice sauce (Seafood sauce) on the side.
-Papaya Salad Loas style with salted crab, Medium Spicy: very authentic and delicious, with fresh green papaya, perfect amount of spicy level and ingredients.
-Pad Thai shrimp: perfectly cooked Pad Thai noodle and flavor as the close to the ones in Thailand. Would have gone for a second.
-Crab fried rice: generous amount of crab meat, perfectly cooked fried rice and amazing taste. This is exactly how I expected.
-Crying Tiger: amazing grilled marinated ribeye that melted in my mouth.
-Pad Pak Bung: stir fried Chinese watercress perfectly cooked and flavored. (Ordered this twice).
Definitely on my place to stop the next time I’m ever in the area again.
Great tasting food at an even better price. I recommend the boat noodle soup and the mango sticky rice, but so far everything I have had from this restaurant is amazing
average
food is good. portion s decent. Service is great.
Fresh very tasty..good proportions
The Thai sausage appetizer was worth the trip all by themselves! That said the broccoli with crispy pork and the soft shell crab were worth it as well.
Amazing food. Super clean place and friendly service.
