Traditional Thai restaurant with Asian style decor serving standard curry, rice & noodle dishes.
This was my first time at this location. The customer service was good. I ordered the yellow curry chicken and spring rolls. The curry was good but it had more carrots and potatoes than chicken. The rolls were delicious. It was a bit pricey to not have more chicken than vegetables in my curry and to only get two spring rolls. I do not recommend the yellow curry chicken. I do recommend the spring rolls.
This review is based solely on the cleanliness of the restaurant. Because of the great reviews we drove 30 minutes over to try it.
I really didn’t want to sit down due to the cushions on the seat being deeply stained. We tried to change seats but realized every cushion was like that. They brought the waters in very clearly greasy dirty glasses and mine had actual dirt floating in it.
I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and the bathroom itself was just atrocious- I didn’t even want to use it so I didn’t. When I sat back down I turned to look at the wall right next to me - there was dried food all over it. The tables and floors were extremely dirty and likely hadn’t been cleaned in some time.
If they are comfortable with the outward public areas looking like that; I really can’t imagine the private kitchen area. I understand some cleanliness issues in most restaurants exist but this was absolutely over the top. I’ve never left a restaurant due to dirtiness but we opted not to stay. They truly need a professional cleaning crew to come in for deep cleaning and they should not be operating under the current conditions.
If you’re looking for insanely mouthwatering Thai food, this place is it!! My friend got the Pad Thai and I got the Red Curry with Chicken. The portion size is great and you’ll have plenty for leftovers though it’s tempting to just finish it all in one sitting. The spice level was just right for what I was looking for and the flavors were just bursting💥The crab puffs and the Fried Banana with Ice cream were also really good👌🏽Customer Service is great too.
Ordered appetizer sample plates and the fresh spring roll has no shrimp inside, only veggies. Pad see eww shrimp was raw!!! I took a bite and the shrimp was cold! Now I’m afraid of salmonella 🤢The only thing I think it’s decent is the curry. Sorry but we won’t come back again!
Super yummy, I lived in Thailand for 2 years and love how good their food was and resembled authentic Thai food. Got right in on a Friday night. Service was super quick. Food was really really good. My wife loved the cucumber water served with the meals.
My go-to spot for tai food. They have a location on 24th st and Broadway but this place accommodates for 4+ seating. I got the Hawaiian Chicken and let me tell you. It was amazing. Came out hot and fresh. I still can’t feel my tongue but that didn’t keep my taste buds from being blessed. Highly recommend if you are looking for a Thai spot that never misses. Comes with a complementary icecream when you finish your food.
Potstickers!!! Crunchy and delicious
Food was amazing! I had chicken satay and the sauce was awesome…. Spiced Chicken Basil Fried Rice was excellent!
Great service and delicious food!
Great Thai food consistently! Great service and atmosphere as well!
I wish I could give this 0 stars. I have no idea how this place has such a good rating. DO NOT GO THERE. It’s dirty, the staff is rude and the food is inedible. The amount of reviews I’ve seen about people getting ill after eating here is also wildly concerning. We waited forever to get our food and then the waitress just forgot about us, never to be seen again. We had to go up and pay because she’d just disappeared. I regret ever stepping foot in this place. NEVER AGAIN!!

Me and my wife always stop by here whenever we visit the Valley! Delicious pad thai.
Food is delicious and the people there are very friendly and kind...my kids Love the Food...I drive from an hour away to eat here and order to go for my Family.
One of my favorite place

Very good food! Some of the best Thai food we have had in Phoenix. Would give 4.5/5
The food is always great as well as the service everything is always made fresh daily

The pad see ew is amazing. Always hits ❤️
This restaurant hands down is the best Thai restaurant in AZ. We have been coming here for almost 3 years.
Service is excellent.
If you like very spicy food, this is your place.
Vegetable servings can be improved. I think we had a few mushrooms in 1 soup. 1 carrot in another soup. A few vegetables in the curry.
Their hot soups hit the spot, amazing. We also love their avocado curry.
This place is fantastic! Welcoming and the food is fantastic! We're in town visiting so glad we came upon this spot.
We got take out here and we’re pretty satisfied. The fried gyoza and mango sticky rice were really delicious! We got tofu chow mein and pineapple fried rice but they were both somewhat bland and lacked flavor. The portions were big and good for the price point.
Curry was too thick. Bathroom was horrible and kills your appetite. Do not use their bathroom.
Best garlic chicken I've ever had. Flavors for all of our dishes were on point.
RThis was an absolutely horrifying experience. My friends and I went to this restaurant for lunch. We each ordered our own dish without sharing. One of my friends ordered a dish with pork belly, but it was so greasy that he barely touched it and only ate the green beans.
Within two hours of leaving, he began experiencing severe discomfort, constant belching and a sudden fever. Over the next three days, he developed intense gastrointestinal symptoms and relentless fevers, which completely ruined his Christmas. Our family doctor suspects it was either toxins from undercooked green beans or norovirus. To this day, he remains bedridden, weak, and in pain.
What makes this ordeal even worse is how the restaurant responded. When we called to inform them of the situation, they were rude and dismissive, showing zero care or responsibility.
This is a serious warning to anyone considering eating here. Food safety and customer care are clearly not priorities for this restaurant. If you value your health, think twice before dining here.
My friend ordered the Pork Belly with Green Beans and became violently ill with a stomach flu and fever that he is still experiencing several days after visiting this God-forsaken establishment. When I called to ask for a refund for his meal, they proceeded to ask why I didn't call back sooner and were extremely rude. The attitude from the manager and the staff was as bad as the food they serve. My friend reported them to the Arizona Department of Health. Based on how sick he got, this place has no business serving food!
Food was mediocre. Service was good
Any meal I get there with shrimp is delicious.
I love this place. Best Thai place in the area. I don’t eat out often, but I come here almost every month.
Fantastic food. Great service.
Great service and great food! We were served a tasty vegetable soup upon sitting down for lunch. Their lunch specials were priced reasonably and came with a crispy egg roll. We had the Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mow, and Drunken Noodles, all very tasty! At the end we were given some soft serve. The workers were attentive and friendly; thanks for having us!
The pad thai was too sweet for my liking. The thai iced tea was my favourite. Ordered the papaya salad and I didn’t like it much. Didn’t feel as authentic as I was expecting.
There also isn’t AC in the resto. Sorry, I was quite disappointed. I did enjoy the soup and the ice cream they gave. Thank you!
Tons of MSG in every dish. We ordered a chicken salad. 90% is chicken and they chopped it to a little pieces (looks like as chop sui). They put lots of MSG into the salad dish. If you are a MSG lover, you can try this restaurant.
Food quality was bad and served in stylophone take out containers. Drunken noodles were oily, overly sweet and 90% noodles and onions. Other dish contains: over fried tofu, bitter cabbage and flavorless. Overall very unhappy with the food.
Tastes just like in Thailand!🇹🇭
Was surprised they gave us complementary soup and sherbet. The large Thai tea came in a pint glass. Great service! Delicious food! Will be coming back to try their desserts.
Yes. Stop here the reviews are accurate. Fancy cucumber water. Prices are great. They use fresh herbs like basil. Lots of protein in dishes vs other places that have a few pieces. Nice & Great service
It was our first time there and it was probably one of the best Thai food we had in a while.
Ordered spicy basil stir fry and fried rolls. Thai spice level :4 for the stir fry. It was on point. The taste of the stir fry was very good. The sauce was rightly balanced !! Fried rolls were very good too.
Excellent food, wide selection, solid portion sizes, great service, fair prices.
So good. Very tender meat and flavorful noodles. The red curry was sweet, spicy and creamy - I enjoyed it. Great prices, amazing service!
Cute little place with delicious food and welcoming service! The yellow curry with chicken or beef is AMAZING, and comes with sides, dipping sauce, vegetable soup, and usually some sort of ice cream dessert!!! Very reasonable price too. Love it!!!!
Food and service was excellent!
Oh my word this was an experience I am so grateful for the people were wonderful I don't remember our drinks even getting below the ice and yet I don't remember them being filled they had Smiles on their faces the food was amazing very authentic they were pleasant to talk to after the meal it was reasonably priced it was a wonderful atmosphere I might be repeating myself but I just love this place we will be back
Phenomenal Food, been a few times
Always tasty food, always amazing staff. I go in once every 3 months or so and people always are super welcoming they asked me how I'm doing, I once wore a sriracha shirt and they still to this day laugh about it and ask me if I want my food extra spices, and the answer is yes. Give it a shot if you're thinking about it, or recommend it to others if you enjoy it. Little spots like this keep corporate rot away and that's something we need more of!!!!
Server couldn't rush me through my order fast enough and did not respond to a question about spice, except to hurry me further. Curry came with much too small portion of rice. Disappointed.
This is my go-to place every year for lunch and dinner when I'm in Phoenix! Probably next year again for Hip Hop Championships
It’s always such an amazing experience. Amazing taste and such caring staff. Very soothing environment . What more could you ask!
The food at this Thai restaurant is served in a simple, family-style manner, but the taste was impressive. I ordered curry and fried rice, choosing a spice level of 2 out of 5, which was perfect for me. However, I wouldn't recommend the mango sticky rice for dessert, as the mango wasn't sweet and the sticky rice was slightly overcooked. On the plus side, the prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is pleasant.
If you like Thai this place will not disappoint.
A local gem
My go-to spot for tai food. They have a location on 24th st and Broadway but this place accommodates for 4+ seating. I got the Hawaiian Chicken and let me tell you. It was amazing. Great food, good service. Love this place
Stir fry was excellent
The food is always delicious and cooked to perfection. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The place is clean. I love going here. They always get my crazy spice levels right.
Very yummy. I had pad thai
Place is great.
Best Thai food in town. The only place better is their Phoenix location
Pad Thai was delicious (one of the best I have eaten) and the soup also. Service was fast (lunch). Portions were adequate but not generously large, probably because we were ordering from lunch menu. I do recommend visiting the place.
This is hands down one of the best Thai restaurants in Phoenix. I’m definitely a foodie so I always try new places but keep coming back here regularly. The food and the service are nothing short of spectacular! Definitely recommend for anyone looking for great Thai food.
Got the ribs to take home, Soooo disappointing
Went in after lunch rush. Floors were dirty with food. Seats most uncomfortable. Food was great.
Just ok when compared with original Thai food......went with two thai friends, and they don't really like it!
Really good after you microwave it. taste so much better
Menu price is same for all BUT FAIR skins are treated way better than dark skins.
Please check your plates and utensils before you put the food in your mouth. It's really dirty.
Taste is okay and nothing special.
Server took order and nowhere to be found after. Horrible service that I have ever experienced 😪
this might be my favorite restaurant ever. Food is always so good and the lunch combo comes with soup and ice cream. Never been disappointed here
Food is outstanding. Service feels a little rushed, but to be expected seeing how busy they are at times.
Strip-mall find! One of the best places in the immediate neighborhood.
First time eating here. Excellent food and service. Will be back again.
I don't know, this Thai restaurant was pretty average for us. It could be that my stomach wasn't feeling great.
I had the pad thai. It was saucier than any pad thai I've had before, with a sweet tangy flavor that was unexpected. The portion size was quite monstrous- if I had been feeling better I think I would have struggled to finish it.
We always enjoy the curry dishes.
Oh man. I didn't know the glorious food I was going to get when I stepped inside. I drove from Chandler on a risk, and it was worth it.
Green curry was sublime. Drunken noodles were perfect. The pad thai was solidly good, if a little on the sweet side. Spring rolls were perfection, and so good that our 7yo stole them after I got in a bite. Tom kha coconut soup was lovely. All in all, so very worth it for our family of 4, with leftovers.
This place is just great!!!! Inexpensive, comfortable, fast, and most of all, consistently delicious!!!! Highly recommended!!!!
My boyfriend and I have been traveling for 11 days, trying food all over the state. We were passing through Phoenix, craving Thai , on an Easter Sunday. This little joint did not disappoint! I got pineapple fried rice and he had green curry. Both were fantastic!
The restaurant was super packed, and it looked like there were only three people serving, running, and cooking. There had to be at least 30 diners and take out orders on top of that. Still, everyone was kind and helpful, and they even gave us a little orange ice cream at the end. The food came out fast, fresh, and hot. Honestly, this was probably my favorite dinner I had over the course of our entire trip.
The tom-kha soup and drunken noodles were very tasty. The number of servers should definitely be increased. The the lighting and the air made it a little stuffy

The sign says they close at 9:00 but at 8:45 they wouldn't take a Togo order. They said their kitchen was closed, oh well.
Crab puffs(rangoons) worst I've had, dry with a bad after taste. Mango sticky rice also the worst I've had, rice has hard and mango was sour(not ripe). Panang curry was ok i guess.
A real favorite when we're in PHX
not once did anyone come to the table and ask how our food was or if we needed anything, we also had to get up and get any condiments and to go boxes that we needed ourselves (bc literally no one would come to check on tables) while they all sat around. upon paying there was still no questioned asked about how everything tasted & handed me the bill it was $37 for mediocre “thai” food… the rice was mushy.. the food was served warm but not hot.. or spicy considering its thai….. we ordered level 3 spice (1-4 levels) it tasted like mall fast food. For the record there are plenty of great authentic thai restaurants in the Phoenix/Awhatukee area!
Best Thai in Phoenix area.
Spice level was great and the food is delicious
The curry puffs are a must try.
Zero Stars this place steals your money. I would not recommend it. The
customer service is the worst. I
ordered over $70. 00 worth of
food and one item I didn't get. I
had two employees state they put
the item in. I assured them I didn't.
I'm not a paid actress to be upset
that they are saying they gave it
to me. This place steals your
money by charging you items you
don't get. Be aware!! The worst
customer service ever. I have
never been so disrespected with
my own hard earned money. The
Worst!!
Thai Basil is the best in town.
Truly amazing Thai food!! Will definitely come here again!!
Always great service and food. Really enjoy coming here!
Best Thai in Arizona. I don't live in Phoenix but every time I go through Phoenix I make sure to stop and eat here.
My family of four came here with my sister and we really enjoyed the food and the portions. They serve orange sherbet after the meal. Very good meal for the price!
Soooooo good! Lotsa shrimp in the Tom Yum soup. Pad Thai was spicy and meaty. Curry was sooo tasty and potatoes just melted in my mouth. Cucumber water was plentiful in the big mugs and oh so yummy! And you even get ice cream on the house for dessert! Not a surprise that the restaurant is packed so be sure to get there early if you don’t want to wait!
One of the best Thai places in phoenix. Great food and phenomenal service. Water is served with cucumbers too 🔥
If I could give them 6 stars I would. Friendly, warm service and incredible authentic Thai. Their soups are top notch— we had the Tom Kha which matched anything I’ve had in Thailand. We also started with the mixed appetizers and my boyfriend had the Spicy Crispy Chicken as his entree. He thought the 4/5 spice level was perfect and his portion was massive. Add in the complimentary ice cream to finish, and a little parting chili crisp to take with our to go food, and we were sold. Will absolutely be back and look forward to working our way through the menu!
Loved this place. Had the pad thai (level 4 spice) and it was absolutely delicious and the heat was perfection.
My favorite I love the chicken with shrimp pad Thai. Service is always great
I ordered the chicken pad Thai no shrimp with chicken, extra egg, extra spicy and the fried dumplings to go. Super delicious I will eat here again for sure! I had a brief interaction with the staff, but their customer service was great. Keep in mind it wasn’t busy when I was there but I can see them getting very busy. The food was that good!
Extremely rude and poor service. There are plenty of Thai restaurants nearby, I am more than certain that there is a far better restaurant nearby.
While Chanpen was hopping at lunch time on a weekday, it's hard to understand why. I've been around Thailand and I've eaten Thai all over the US. Chanpen is less than mediocre. We were given a vegetable soup when we sat down, which is a great idea. However, while full of nice cabbage and carrots, it was inedibly salty. We soon realized this would be a theme.
We had roasted duck in red, pineapple curry. Like our other dishes there was barely any protein (very little duck), and the coconut cream in the curry was over-powering, it was too thick and rich (and salty). We hadixed vegetable stir fry, with squid. It was again almost inedibly salty. This one was the only one with a reasonable amount of protein.
We had papaya salad with shrimp. Well, it had exactly two shrimp in it. At least it wasn't terribly salty, but it wasn't very good anyway.
Finally, we had the pad see ew with shrimp. It was both too salty and too sweet. It had five shrimp in it, which isn't offensively few, but definitely skimpy.
The wait staff were very nice and the service was pretty fast.
We wanted to like it, but we would advise to go elsewhere.
Good food,
Nice little hidden treasure with great food.
Must try their avocado curry!!
Great food overall
Excellent Place for Thai Food
Great food
Sabor único original
My experience with carryout was disappointing. The lady who took my order on the phone was very rude. However, the pad Thai and fresh spring roll was good. The tiny lady at the front desk was very pleasant and friendly to deal with.
The best Thai food I’ve ever had 😍
别来!难吃,啃排骨像是在吃塑料丝。好几只苍蝇一直围着桌子转,卫生很差,灯光暗得看不清菜单,并且不开油烟机,整个餐厅都是油烟。
Always excellent. Our go to spot for Thai food. Pretty much the only Thai my kids will eat. They ask to go at least once a week.
Everytime we are in Phx, we HAVE to go eat here, we've been in other thai restaurants across the country, and this is one of the best we've tried so far, we love their food!! Tom kha is my favorite here, although everything we have ordered is really good!! My family and I totally recommend this place!
Fantastic all the way around 👏
Great food fresh taste amazing experience
Really good food. Some things in restaurant could be cleaner and tidier.
I have never been disappointed here. The owner has always been kind to us. Food is so good!
Always great food and owner is awesome.
Outstanding, friendly service and incredible food is only the beginning here. Every single time I eat here, I'm left completely happy and satisfied. There is never a bad dish nor experience. Any dish must be eaten to be believed. Do not sleep on Champen Thai. It's the best! Thank you.
Ordered carry out, pad Thai and Tom yum. The pad Thai was missing scallions, bean sprouts, peanuts and egg. But the soup was one of the best Tom Yums I’ve ever had!
Good service and decent food. Not good as East coast Thai.
Plates have white power on the surface, not like quite clean. The waitress messed up the spicy level and made my son cannot eat his food at all.
Amazing thai food! I either get the pad see ew or panang curry when I go and it’s always delicious. Staff is always friendly too.
Try the curry pumpkin
