Down-to-earth place furnishing curries, crab rangoon & other familiar Thai fare.
A nice Thai restaurant with some unique local dishes. The curry here are excellent and recommend the Arizona heat. We had a larger party and they were able to reserve off a few tables for us. Really excellent service. There is a good amount of people doing takeout so sometimes can get a little backed up, but they still manage to deliver food pretty quickly.
I checked the menu before we went so I was happy it was not different when we arrived. I had the Jungle Fried Tofu lever 2 spice with Jasmin Rice and Tai Tea. My daughter had Pad Sew with chicken level 1.
The dishes were so good that we already were deciding for our next visit.
This was our first time trying this restaurant, and unfortunately, it will likely be our last. We ordered takeout, so I can’t comment on the atmosphere, but the experience from start to finish was disappointing.
When I called to place the order, I was “put on hold” for nearly 10 minutes—not with hold music, but by someone simply setting the phone down. I could hear how busy they were, including the staff repeatedly apologizing to customers for the long wait. I should have taken this as a sign and hung up, but being new to the area, we wanted to give it a try.
When someone finally picked up, they took our order and quoted a 20-minute wait time. We arrived at the restaurant on time, only to encounter a chaotic scene. Several customers were visibly upset about delays. One person, who had already paid, said they’d been waiting so long they were ready to leave. After another 20 minutes of waiting, we finally received our food.
Unfortunately, the food itself was a disaster. We ordered two Pad See Ew dishes, a Pad Thai, and orange chicken. The noodles in both Pad See Ew dishes were undercooked, dry, and almost flavorless. The orange chicken tasted like it had been breaded, fried, and then doused in straight orange juice—nothing like the dish should taste. The Pad Thai was overly sweet, with overcooked chicken.
I might have overlooked the long wait as an off day—it’s tough to staff restaurants these days—but the food quality was horrendous, especially for a $60 meal. I can’t recommend this place based on our experience.
The portion sizes were HUGE! We were not expecting that.
And one of the curries - I think the green curry that we got was super spicy that my husband couldn't even eat.
The red curry was really really good.
And I really appreciate that they got coconut milk for us to mix in the spicy curry. It really helped.
Decent ambience and decent place. Wish we knew about the portion sizes, we would've ordered only one curry for 2 people if we knew it was going to be huge!
Nice atmosphere. Relaxing meal for lunch. Very attentive and polite staff. Phad Thai was good.
This place is amazing. Hidden gem in the anthem area. The Panang is exceptional. The flavor is amazing, I often compare to other locations around the country and still haven’t found one I like better. Awesome spot, fried rice is great as well! Highly recommend giving this place a try!

Very good but just expensive
This is the best Thai in the valley.
Our family loves the food here. They are consistently great!
Place has already closed after a month.
The ginger chicken is very good. The sweet and sour chicken is waaaay to sweet. They have Thai beer which is a very good lager for hot days

The food was good, very well priced also.
Food was amazing , service was wonderful , our waitress was so kind . We really enjoyed this little restaurant

My husband and I spent 2 weeks in Thailand back in November and were really missing the food from our trip. We’ve struggled to find a place that is as good as when we were abroad, and Nara’s Thai Cafe took us right back. We will be regular customers to satisfy our Thai cravings! Highly recommend if you’ve visited Thailand and are looking for high quality Thai food!
Outside of Asia this is my favorite Thai place
Ordered take out and the woman on the phone said it would be fifteen minutes. I arrive about 30 minutes later and no one greets me or makes eye contact. Then 20 minutes later they finally ask about my order. Got home and their was egg shell in the pad thai.
Great little Thai restaurant. Consistent food quality and service.
We had a great family dinner. My step kids had never had Thai food before, now they are hooked!
Best fresh food in the valley, family owned and run. Fresh, fresh and homemade. Amazing, I shouldn't share so it doesn't get packed, lol. But it's a hidden gem.
Excellent pad Thai and green curry. We ordered takeout on UberEATS and it was very fast and convenient.
Amazing place, amazingly good food too
Incredible food at an affordable price. Good and quaint atmosphere despite the smaller dining area. Food came out quick and hot. Got the yellow curry with chicken and rice at the #1 spice level. Extremely flavorful and delicious and included some spice too. Ate it quickly and filled me up. Already planning on when I can come back and enjoy again.
No ac working. Left to go elsewhere.
The staff and owners were really friendly and helpful. It looked like they do a good job maintaining a clean environment. Their curries are really tasty too.
Everything we ordered was delicious. We enjoyed the orange chicken so much we ordered another to go. Compared to other Thai restaurants the menu was slim, we were hoping to have some Larb, but everything we tried was very good.
We moved out of state years ago and still talk about and crave Nara Thai's Arizona Heatwave red curry (I like two peppers heat level, enough to feel it but not enough to cause problems). I usually get the chicken as the protein but kind of wish I'd tried shrimp. Visited after a few years and it was just as delicious as I remember. Definitely check this place out!
Great food, friendly service and a nice atmosphere!
The worst phad thai I’ve ever had. It was bland and sweet. Phad Thai is not supposed to be sweet! I told them I didn’t want any ketchup in it and the waitress swore they didn’t do that. It tasted like they had ketchup in it(the cheap way to make it). After eating there a short while ago, I do not feel well and I’m going to bed- at 8:00 on Saturday night! Ugh!
Great food and friendly staff.
The food is fresh and delicious and the service was great!! We will definitely be back to try more from their menu.
Best food in the area. Nice lunch specials
美味😋,份量充足,一人份每次都吃不完~
Yellow curry with chicken, #2 spice, that's my jam. It was pretty darn good. Beats cooking at home!
Orange chicken was good. Curry was way too thin.
I Love these people, an food is very very very good an I DON'T EAT OUT. Haven't 36ys just there
Good Tom Yum soup
Loved it!! Such a cute little place to eat and the food was absolutely amazing
I have been having appetite issues as of late and most things have taken effort for me to eat. This was the first thing I’ve eaten for a while (ordered the pad see ew) that this wasn’t the case! It was actually good even with my appetite struggles, which is saying something! It actually really brightened my day to eat something that actually tasted good to me :) Thank you guys!
Ordered a seafood dish take out and while it was tasty, It was supposed to have shrimp, fish, scallops, and squid. I requested no squid. I got 8 shrimp with veges and 1 tiny scallop. The rice container had a few tablespoons of rice in it. No way in hec they would have served this in person. I did call the restaurant to say this was unacceptable. They apologized and said the cost of rice went up so that’s why I only received 3 Tablespoons of rice. Lol. Asked them to please not rip off future customers. Please do not get take out or delivery from this place.
Great service good food
Potions are generous and food is tasty. The service is solid and they do a good job accommodating when I let them know of a food allergy.
A family owned restaurant with consistent high quality food. Love the Pad Thai, Curry, spring rolls, etc.
One of my favorite spots. :)
Service was great, but the food was bland and had no taste. Since the new owners took over, the place has quickly declined.
Delicious! We will definitely return.
One of out standard go-to's for the Pad Thai Chicken and the Yellow Curry Chicken
Absolutely delicious, super fresh, we needed a quick lunch stop on our way through town ... superb!
If you like Thai, then try this place. Limited seating. May have to wait, but well worth it
I’ve been eating here for 6 years now and every time, it’s so freaking good!
just got back from picking up an order "to go" ordered the fried veggie rolls.... didn't get them. ordered and paid for extra peanuts.... didn't get them. I even reminded the young man at the counter before I paid $50.00 for an order I didn't even completely receive. thanks alot. I will just order from "Thai Chili To Go" next time.
From the service to the food was Great!
Cashew chicken was awesome
This is the best Thai food I have had in North Phx. Had a Red Chicken Curry that was great we took remaining sauce to use in a dish at home
Is one of the BEST places to eat at Anthem, period.
Not sure if this place is under new ownership or what but this place used to be our go to for Thai food near anthem but as of the last few times the food isn’t the same, customer service is awful, orders messed up and instead of making it right they try and blame you. Definitely going to be looking for a new Thai place
The chicken pad Thai and yellow curry are amazing. The service is great and they do make cocktails.
They were very quick with the food, but their dishes did not taste the same as other Thai restaurants. Also, they were really lacking veggies, which was weird. Good service, but I wouldn’t go twice.
To be honest and im not sure if i came in on a bad night but famous wok in the outlet mall is better and cheaper..i was bummed too because i had heard good things about their orange chicken but it was a let down 🥺
Great food. But Why are your bomb chicken nuggets been hit or miss lately. Either delicious, or I take a bite and throw away. Waste of money. All grizzle with tons of breading. Someone does it right. Then someone else up in there is doing it totally wrong. Be really cool if you could figure out that little issue so I can start getting these again. Thanks again.
Sincerely, bummed out happy loyal customer.
So delicious!
Good solid food, nice spiciness, and reasonable prices
Delicious! Food arrives in a timely manner and portions are generous. Curry is amazing here!
Absolutely delicious!! They are, by far, our family’s favorite Thai restaurant. The orange chicken is out of this world and so uniquely delicious- the pad Thai is always outstanding and always on the order. Recommend to anyone!
Food was delicious! Surprised they didn't have more dine-in seating. Were barely able to seat our group of 9. Table service was a bit lacking. Clearly a place designed for take-out.
Daisy is the best 😊 I only eat fish so it's hard to find quality food 😋 I can trust Nara Thai food I encourage everyone to try the shrimp curry extra spicy (Mexican spicy) I suggested lol thank you Daisy
I should’ve known better going to anthem for Thai. This is equivalent to Panda Express but more expensive in regards to the quality and flavor of the food. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone lookin for good Thai.
Very tasty. Not great but good Thai food for Phoenix area.
The food is consistently great and always an enjoyable experience.
I love there food. It is a very nice place to visit. Fast and friendly service.
There are better Thai places out there.
The place for Thai food in the greater Anthem area. Nice variety, tasty dishes - with spicy levels 1-5 - and a friendly staff. Dining room is comfortable and the experience always pleasant.
I love it, great service
Wow! Great food. Friendly service. Small place and busy for lunch.
Amazing food and service. The coconut milk/chicken/mushroom soup is divine! Something for everyone, made spicy or not. The name change doesn't seem to have changed the menu, etc.
Such a gem! We love this place the staff the food everything! You have to try it.
Dara Thai set a standard of flavor that nara can't live up to.
The place was busy but, the waitress made me feel special. My lunch was delicious and the price was very reasonable. My curry was one of the best I have had and I eat it frequently. I go up to Anthem 3 times a week and will definitely make this a weekly stop.
Great authentic food. I have lived in Thailand. Wonderful service!
We have picked up food here many times, everything we have had is delish!
Great lunch specials and portions at an affordable price. Waitress/ cashier is friendly and knowledgeable of menu and great at recommendations on those indecisive days. I look forward to trying all their dishes.
This place is awesome. They have very good high quality food. The food is very spicy and good. We will make sure to recommend this to others!
This sadly is not the same - Pad Thai was oil bath with no flavor or heat. Not the same quality Peter served.
Great Thai place. Inexpensive, good service and the food is top notch. The roast duck red curry is incredible!!
We enjoyed our lunch.
Very good food and service!
Awesome food, clean restaurant and fast/efficient/friendly servers
Very good and good servoce
Love Nara Thai! We eat here about once every week or two, and it’s always fresh. It’s well cooked, authentic, and the employees are always really friendly and personable.
I eat here frequently. The curry dishes are delicious. Yummmmmmmmmm!!
I am Thai and I think this restaurant is not an authentic Thai food and flavor. I have to give a one start for lack of authenticity and complex flavor that Thai cuisine is famous for. The chicken and vegetables were cut really thick, the taste was really bland. If you want real Thai food, find somewhere else.
I was excited to try this restaurant after reading the reviews but wow.... it’s just not good. It’s super inauthentic and quite bland. Very disappointing and a huge waste of money.
I ordered take out and the dinner was awsome reminded me of food I ate while serving in vietnam
Tonight was our first time here. I had the 82 and my wife had number 77 with brown rice and a 1 on the hot scale. These were excellent dishes. We will definitely be going back. The staff is very friendly and courteous. I noticed lots of take out customers were picking up their order when we were eating. I recommend try this place.
Update 6/12/2020
We have now been here ten times at least. It is some of the best Thai food we have had. Definitely worth the drive to Anthem for Thai food.
This is my first time ordering from here and it was EXCELLENT!!! I have been craving good Thai food since I moved here from NY and I found it! The person that took my order over the phone was very nice and when my husband went inside to pick up my food he said it was clean and great customer service. I ordered the Pad Thai and Veggie Egg Rolls. Everything was delicious!!!!! You satisfied a pregnant lady’s craving very well! Thank you! I will be back!
I have never found a curry that I like. Seriously I’ve tried many and they’ve always tasted gross or been to hot, I don’t like anything really spicy. Anyway we finally went to try it, with another couple, and OH MY GOSH!!! We ordered 3 different dishes and shared them. The curry was the best but the other 2 dishes we got were delicious as well but the yellow curry was by far the favorite between all 4 of us. I would highly recommend it as I’m sure my husband and friends would as well.
Poor customer service. Will not be going back.
Food is alway so good and the people who own it are always so nice our favorite spot here in anthem. Our favorites are pad Thai and arizona heat and of course yellow curry.
Great authentic Thai food.
Order the Tom Ka Gai soup, you will not be disappointed.
Good food, good service, fair prices
Good prices, excellent menu & variety. Friendly caring staff. All round great dinning experience! ♥️👍
I love everything especially the Pad Thai and Thai nuggets!!! Say hello to extra peanut sauce. You guys are the best❤️❤️❤️
Everything I have ever ordered here is so good. And the service is quick. Always a great experience.
Great food and accommodating!
Good food and good prices and good service the seating is a little bit tight but it's a good place to eat.
This is a small cozy atmosphere type restaurant with a friendly staff. We ordered the sampler for our appetizer. The items in the sampler were very tasty especially the chicken nuggets! I enjoyed how the batter was lighter but very crispy. The only reason for the lower star ratting is due to the pad Thai. I always get pad Thai when I try a new place, as a staple I think that it should be a top dish. To me it was average at best, the flavor was watered down and just kinda bland. Also I didn’t like how they used a bunch of cabbage as a filler, I want more noodles and meat! I would go back just for their fried chicken though, that stuff was on point.
Really good Thai food. One of my favourite places to get Pad Thai. They also have a really fair spicy scale from 0-5. I'm also leary of seafood at places like this, but the seafood is good here too. They also have good lunch specials at fair prices.
Good food and good people
It's a little small but the food was amazing!
I had the chicken Pad See Ew and it was amazing, wish it had a little more sauce but still great. The chicken fried rice looked incredibly underwhelming but proved me wrong, it was also great. My mom ordered chicken curry and fried tofu with the peanut sauce and both were also amazing. Only complaint is we got some of the thai tea and it was super good but they didnt fill them up all the way (like a good inch below). We did order to go so maybe it was their portion size but who knows. New favorite thai place.
Excellent food, excellent service!!! Thank you for a wonderful dinner!
This place became my favorite restaurant in anthem and thai food became my favorite the food is so delicious and its always so big so i always have leftovers which is my favorite and the staff is so nice and helpful and honestly the best staff ive ever had in a restaurant and seriously everything they make is so delicious and its one of my favorite restaurants of all time 5 stars no question
I'm addicted to yellow curry and this is my supplier. 👍
Honestly, some of the best Pad Thai I've ever had... I was surprised to find it up in Anthem! But when my brother recommended it (he's a foodie) I had to try it. Didn't disappoint! There are different spice levels (1-5), so there's a spice for everyone. If you're decent with spice, I'd recommend the 4. It has wonderful flavor but isn't too strong to overpower everything else.
The service there is really good too. They're fast but not pushy like others places I've been. If you're looking for some good Pad Thai, your search is over 😋
I thought the food was outstanding and service was great. Highly recommend to everyone!
My food was pretty terrible. The cuts of beef in my pad gra had a ton of gristle, bone and was incredibly chewey. You'd think that for the tiny amount of beef they'd put in there it would at least be well prepped. Nope. Additionally I asked for it to be spicy, and they couldn't even manage to add any chili paste to their tasteless sauce.
Then they seriously charged me two dollars for soda water. Yes. Carbonated water. When asked about this they just said yep.
Not sure how this place is so highly rated. WASPs don't know good Thai I guess. Go to wild thaiger in downtown Phoenix if you want good Thai.
Always good food
Great food!
Great food and good menu. Not expensive.
The food was fresh authentic and delicious. The staff are just so awesome and friendly. The service is fast and efficient. Will highly recommend this place.
Healthy option, great service. Feel good after eating there. Not a big place but good enough when you don't want to cook at home.
Authentic food with great prices good for a date or something different
Delicious curry. Spicer than I wanted for my kids. But I love spicy foods. Happy dad here.
Ordered their duck and was perfectly cooked with nice spice. Family owned restaurant that shows a lot of heart and love in their food and service. Highly recommend as a date night experience and love their pick your spice level from 1 to 5.
Food is consistently good. Service is good. What more could you wish?
Soooo good! The drunken noodles and the yellow curry were killer. My kids and I were fighting over the last bites. Will drive an hour again to come eat here
Best Thai food ever
The last time I ate at this place is when I saw a roach run across the floor, haven't went back in a 1+ year. Now that its received a D on health inspection it proves my point further.
Updated! Much cleaner and health rating of A now.
We LOVE the Anthem AZ location. Food is awesome. I love the cury. We eat here frequently
Great take out. Medium spice was just right for me.
The absolute definition of YUMMMM
From Portland, OR, place was fantastic, cozy and food was amazing. Service was great as well!
The food was excellent but I told him I could not have mushrooms do you to an allergy. The meal came out had mushrooms on it I sent it back I was told it was being remade. Halfway through eating it I found mushrooms!!!! The owner/or Cook was only concerned that wasn’t going to pay for the meal. Which I had planned on doing. As soon as my mother in law said we were paying he walked away. He never said he was sorry or anything.
Such a nice, clean and friendly place. The food is always so good, I love the design and decor in the restaurant and the staff is always so nice.
We eat here regularly. This is, by far, the best food in Anthem! Dara Thai is always clean, the staff is prompt and friendly, and the food is delicious! I just wish they were open on Sundays. =)
I ate here and almost instinctively had the stomach flu. Food was plain with zero spice for some untrusting 1-5 scale. Personally I’m a chef, and based on the food alone it was plain. Restaurant has maybe 10 individual tables, and a large underperforming menu. Absolutely feel sick, literally.
Great place. I love the food. Great service as well
Excellent food but limited seating.
Food was delicious. Dining room is very small, and busy, but food arrived quickly. Would like more vegetarian options. Highly recommended.
Pretty good, no mudbutt
Good Food and good service.
Love this place! Hawaiian delight and pad Thai are amazing.
