Modest Thai eatery serving familiar favorites plus fried avocado & inventive curries.
I've only ordered take-out, from here, so far. It has arrived hot, fresh and scrumptious both times. It is also neatly packaged, looking extremely appetizing. The Pad Thai is delicious!
Love this Thai place. The flavors and spices are well balanced and just delicious. Great vegan options. I’ve had the tofu pad Thai and crispy garlic tofu. Both really good.
First of all, as a person who has celiac, I appreciate the fact that they have tons of gluten-free options. My review only applies to Pad Thai as this is the only food I have ordered here twice. While the food is good and haven't got sick from eating their food, I gave this place a 3 star because they're very skimpy on the chicken. The 2 times I have ordered here, I had like 5 small piece of chicken and a lot of noodle. So disappointed as it's hard for me to find a celiac friendly restaurant. I'll order something else and see if this a pattern. Then from there, I'll decide if I'll be a regular customer.
The family fried rice is by far the best fried rice I've had from any place I've been! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for great quality and big portions for their money
They fell off as far as I'm concerned. No dine in anymore. I ordered chicken pad Thai with shrimp and extra chicken. That should be a nice heaping serving you would think. Nope! Got home opened up the box and it was about half what it usually should be with too many brussel sprouts on it and flavor was bland. The magic was gone. This tasted like some microwave stuff off the shelf. No love!! Disappointed me big time. I been eating here for years and they failed me tremendously. I also got deep fried tofu too. That was 36 dollars down the drain. I'm going to a new spot from now on!! I Pho in Lakewood. Much much better!!
The service here is consistently amazing! The owners are incredibly friendly and kind. The family fried rice is absolutely delicious—I could eat it every day and never get tired of it!
Used to love coming here for dine in. We live 30 minutes away and have a 2 year old though so we can’t just sit in our vehicle to eat. This is the only place I know of that didn’t eventually reopen after covid. The food was delicious too bad we can’t come anymore.

I got panang curry with seafood and to say that this food did not have taste at all whatsoever is to say nothing no salt no flavour nothing for $30!!!! Excuse me ? you can do a lot better for $30.
Food is great, portions could be bigger. One entree leaves me hungry. The quality is excellent, though.

All food are so yummy🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭 and great service
.I love this place.🍤🍤🍤

Love this Thai place. The flavors and spices are well balanced and just delicious. Great vegan options. I’ve had the tofu pad Thai and crispy garlic tofu. Both really good.
We have been going here for close to 20 years. The food is wonderful and consistent. Highly recommend. Chicken Noodles are my fav!!

The gluten free options are amazing. The food is great. I had the cashew chicken. It could've had a little more meat. But flavor was amazing. Waited in a cramped over full waiting room though.
We’ve been getting take away here for years. Super good fresh spring rolls, pad Thai, and more. When we want to make extra special we get the duck. Leftover fried rice for breakfast. And they work around our allergies, including GF! Great owners running it!
I’m giving it two stars because it’s editable. But when it comes how good it was, wasn’t very good in my opinion.
THE AVOCADO SPRING ROLLS ARE EVERYTHING. If you love avocado, thank me later.
I also got the pad Thai and pad see ewe and it was top notch. Fast service, ordered online, took about 10 minutes until it was ready!
I'm gluten free and love that there is a Thai place that has a largely gluten free menu, and is affordable. I've had both the pad Thai and the pad see ew, and they were wonderful.
To go orders only, very good fresh roll with peanut sauce and massaging curry had one of the best sauces. Just wanted to pour it over rice and keep eating.
This place deserves a shout out! This place is take-out only during the time of this review, but the food is excellent, great quality and value, I highly recommend coming here! They have gluten free menu items, i've never been sick here (from gluten), excellent food and service, this place deserves to be recognized and I highly recommend this place!
Always delicious most delicious food I’ve ever eaten
When we went a few days ago, it was mostly take out due to shortage of staff. The order time was relatively fast but there the waiting area was pretty crowded as there was quite a few waiting for their food. The menu is quite extensive and the food taste is good and on the same level as you would expect for a thai cuisine. I ordered a basil fried rice and chicken satay. The peanut sauce was very good. Nice place to grab a quick bite but a bummer because dine in was not possible.
When they had dine in years ago it was great. The fact they don’t have dine is a turn off:(
I don't know about the food because I tried to eat here and they are only Oien for take out.
Yummm
We attempted to dine in but upon arrival the owner stated very casual that they’re closed for dine in and can offer only takeout. In the approximately 3 minutes I was there at two other families showed up and was faced with the same situation. I informed the owner she could simply update her Google status to which she stated “well I should have called before coming”!
Been coming here for years. Their avocado curry is off the chain. Nicest owner runs the place and slings out high-quality food.
Yummy
They are only doing take out since the pandemic. But always great food!
I t thought the food was fabulous and I had a couple drinks there were good service was a little slow and I just didn't get a good feel the atmosphere that night it wasn't wasn't really what I was hoping for that night but maybe it was just my mood but overall I give it three stars
My wife is completely devoted to the mango fried rice at this restaurant. Due to a lack of wait personnel, the restaurant has been forced to close. Having said that, the dinner was served immediately, was piping hot, and tasted fantastic, as it always does. With the recent price hikes, a three-course meal now costs close to $20. The wife still considers this restaurant to be the best of its kind, therefore we'll be regulars.
I've been going here for many, many years, and it remains my favorite restaurant in Tacoma. The service is beyond spectacular, and the food is unforgettable.
Best Thai In Tacoma
Restaurant is take out only. Food is quite good. Pad thi sauce is perfect. Would order again.
They are still NOT opened for dinning in post COVID!!! Food is great, I just don’t want it delivered or have to go and pick it up and take it home. Please open your dinning room!
Excellent Thai food, and most of it is gluten free too. They are only doing carryout right now due to staffing shortages, but its well worth it to grab your food and go.
My wife won't go anywhere else but here to get her mango fried rice. The dining room has closed due to staffing shortages, hence the low atmosphere rating. With that said, the food came out hot, ready to go, and had great flavor as always. Prices have gone up so pricey meal at just under 20 bucks. STILL the wife's favorite in this category and will continue to roll here for the A grade meal!
I was never into pad thai.. lol . But my husband bought me pad thai from here and ever since I like it. And can't wait to try it even though it kinda pricey.
I have been eating here pretty much from their having opened up shop. I can tell you that in the Puget Sound region, for well over a decade, they have remained our absolute number one "go to" for quality, authentic Thai cuisine. Having been in Thailand for close to 3 years in all, I can tell you that what they do here is unmatched, and, it has absolutely stood the Test of Time. I am down below Joint Base Lewis McChord and yes, we have Chef Ron and his restaurants, but let me tell you, consistently, the quality, the dish authenticity and the price, is NUMBER ONE... each and every time. Never - have we been let down in any way from these folks. They have our love, our support, and our absolute following. I would rather, and do, drive the extra distance, knowing that what I am getting, costs much less than if I bought the same from Chef Ron's places down in Lacey, and, I know that what I will be enjoying, has come from the husband/wife Thai born and raised couple and owner of the restaurant. Authentic. Quality second-to-none. Has stood the Test of Time. You cannot go wrong with Peanut Sauce Thai Cuisine!
Peanut Sauce has been a favorite of ours for like 20 years. We’ve never been disappointed by a meal and the staff is lovely. We recommend it to everybody and can happily say now all our friends love it too. Our favorites include tofu spring rolls, Massaman curry, and crispy garlic tofu (but we’ve liked anything else we’ve tried too!)
only take out orders. But food is superb! most delicious Thai fried rice and pad Thai chicken I've ever had in tacoma.
The fried rice was delicious, and customer service was great. One of the best spots to eat at.
Dinning area closed due to staffing. Food was good just not the best lacking some flavor but it could have been worse so I'm glad it wasn't.
This is the best Thai spot in Tacoma. Nothing really compares even outside of Tacoma lol. My family and I have been coming here for years and honestly I’ve never had anything on the menu that wasn’t good.
The peanut sauce is bomb, accommodating for vegans, delicious
Ordered Pad thai to go and it was extremely fresh and flavorful. I will be back.
Consistently good food that is adequately spiced. Great vegan options. Good service. Take out only currently.
This place is extremely over priced! The food is good but for the price you pay and the amount you get makes absolutely no sense. And, this is for carry-out, not even dine in! WAY OVER PRICED! Mind you, I ordered off the "lunch" menu !
I love this place. Always so friendly and fast and accurate with orders and I’ve never had anything I didn’t love. This is my go to Thai place.
Adorable little restaurant lots of gluten free options. Must visit.
Best Thai food hands down:)
Best Thai food I’ve ever had!! I won’t get it anywhere else. They have the best vegetarian menu and even the carnivores in our family think hands down best Thai around.
Delicious 😋 I love when I can order a simple chicken pad Thai and the cook knows what their doing. Something so simple but if done right, blows you away with the flavors. 10/10 recommend. The customer service was great as well. They are only open for takeout right now. Hopefully soon they will open, because it was so beautiful in the inside.
I’ve gone to a few places here in Tacoma for Thai, and this place is the best I’ve found. Moving from West Seattle we had Buddha Ruksa which was FABULOUS!
The service at Peanut Sauce is great, plus the quality is on point. We’ve always had a great experience ordering take out. We had Chicken Pad Thai and Crab Fried Rice all ⭐️⭐️‘s. We will definitely be back, thanks for serving us all the yumminess! 😋
You can order ahead or show up and place a to-go order. Solid curry and noodles. Good spice level.
Are you tired of going to Thai places and being
limited to a single fried rice dish or a dubiously
"vegan" curry? Do you long to find a place that
can offer convincing versions of the non-vegan
classics like tom kha or green papaya salad?
Then get over to Peanut Sauce, stat! The last
several pages of their menu is dedicated to their
myriad vegetarian options (virtually all of which
are vegan or can be made vegan by ordering
without egg). It's basically a reiteration of the
non-veg portion of their menu. Fried and fresh
spring rolls; lots of fragrant curries; pages of
stir-frys, noodle dishes and fried rice; and the
most delicious tom kha you will ever eat in your
life. This place is so good! And it's inexpensive
to boot!
Pros: Tons of tasty vegan options, Affordable,
Wait staff knowledgeable about veganism
Cons: Closed Sundavs
My go-to for Thai food! Love their pad mama and my husband loves the cashew chicken!
Really authentic thai food!!! Everything they have is good.
Theyre not doing dine-in currently 😔
I was working in the area and I found this place on google maps there’s other food places near by but I made a great decisión the curry I got was amazing very flavorful and good size I’ll be back here sometime soon.
Yummy 😋
We ordered the Tom kha soup and fried rice and it was so good that we went back within a week! This is my new go-to Thai spot in Tacoma.
Might be the best Thai food in Tacoma! Seriously, so, so good. The Tom Kha soup is stellar.
I went here a few times while visiting in 2015and here is it 7 years later and I'm STILL thinking about how delicious the food was. Can't wait to return one day
A few items are very good. A few others are not authentic Thai.
No indoor seating as yet.
Always, always delicious! Quick, easy, friendly service. The specials are unique, fresh, so yummy! Wonderful, thank you.
One of the best restaurants in Tacoma. Never less than fantastic.
This is my favorite Thai place in Tacoma/Lakewood. The food is so fresh and every item on their menu is delicious. Excellent service and very friendly staff! They also have tons of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options.
This has been our go to Thai spot since before covid kicked in. Love the Penang curry and the cashew chicken. My wife usually orders the tom kha soup and spring rolls. They have vegan and vegetarian options for almost all of their dishes, and they're delicious. If you're looking for a vegetarian restaurant in Tacoma this is a great one. Since covid they're takeout only. They're fast and the food is usually ready for pickup a few minutes before they say it will be.
Good food new to the area so was trying to find a good Thai place. I would definitely go back.
The shrimp were like not shrimp. They were mush.
Good food. At your prices would it really hurt to include rice?
Staff is always kind.
Food is always great. It's toddler approved which I was surprised by but happy about.
Almost always busy but never too long to wait.
Currently no indoor seating during COVID-19
Pad Thai is amazing
Many gluten free options on the menu, probably around half can be made gluten free, and most other ingredients (although not each and every but the main ones are) clearly labeled. Good food too! We had the pad Thai and spring rolls and broccoli with beef. They also have an extensive vegetarian menu as well. So nice that they're able to accomodate dietary restrictions like that, and that they're even listed on the main menu. Not long of a wait! They're just doing to go orders right now which was what we wanted.
We usually love this restaurant, it was our favorite Thai food in Tacoma. However the last 3 visits have all had wrong orders, incomplete orders or undercooked poorly prepared food. We usually order the massamun curry and the Thai pad gaprau, but will be looking for a new Thai place.
I ordered 4 different items (pad Thai, pad see ewe, fried rice, and garlic prawns). All 3 dishes except the shrimp had beef that tasted weird, it was very hard and had a crust on it that looked like it was old. I asked for a level 4 (spicy) on the garlic prawns and it had no spice whatsoever. First and last time coming here.
The avocado curry is the best. This place is consistently great food and friendly service.
Prices are great too.
My favorite yellow curry, love this place.
Customer Service Sucks
One of the places I keep in the rotation when I take out. My goal is to try the whole menu! Everything is so good and so fresh. Been eating here for three years and I'm always pleased.
Garlic Fried Rice & Massamun Curry
First time and definitely impressed with the food selection😁
Literally this place is a 10/10. I’ve been looking for the most perfect pad Thai and this place HAS IT. I have never loved pad Thai more then from this restaurant. I go there all the time and they never let me down. OH and do yourself a favor and get it with a side of extra peanut sauce. SO DANG GOOD
Their food is absolutely amazing, I love their pad thai (:
My favorite restaurant in the Tacoma area. Vegan friendly, reasonable to large portions for the prices, and absolutely delicious. Favorite menu items were the basil friend tofu dish and the massamun curry.
This is the best Thai food I've found to date in Tacoma
Excellent curry and quick take out service!
Alot of Vegan and Vegetarian options, all delicious. Easy to use online ordering platform. Super friendly staff. Never a long wait and their time estimates are always spot on.
My absolute FAVORITE restaurant. Found this hidden gem on my “find me gluten free app,” and I have ZERO regrets. So many gluten free options that taste absolutely delicious. The Pad Thai is 10 stars out of 5 - there are days I dream about it and the peanut sauce. Always get EXTRA peanut sauce it’s so good you want to drink it alone and they give you giant side option servings. The curries don’t come with rice but it’s only $2.00 and definitely enough to for at least two people or four small children. The fresh rolls with the gf sauce are 7 out of 5 stars. The Pad Orange Sauce is 8 out of 5 stars (it has real orange slices!!). The Pas Graprau (Basil) is 8 out of 5 stars. The sweet sticky rice is 10 out of 5 stars. The only thing I’ve tried and didn’t like is the sweet sticky rice with mango because the mango when I tried it was too firm. Everything else is so amazing that whenever I’m in town I make it a point to come here. The prices are reasonable, the customer service is amazing, and they actually honor their spiciness levels which I appreciate (a 2 star spice level is ACTUALLY 2 stars and not a fiery hot 5 making you question how spicy you really can eat). Authentic and awesome - give it a try!
Seriously the best Thai food ever!!
We love there Gluten-Free options. The curry is so bomb! My kid loved the food.
It was good, but not much flavor
I had #31 - soy sauce chicken and spinach with peanut sauce. I also had thai tea. This is some of the best food I have had in a long time. I'm so impressed. They were also very fast.
We sure do love Thai food 🥘 and I especially love 🥜peanut sauce! You! 😎
Always delicious and fresh. Best Thai food I have ever eaten!!!
Tom yum soup was sweet... like VERY sweet. Not good.
Soup sucks, calamari was good, ribs were tender.
Soup is like tobasco, water, dry chicken and onions.
Most of the menu is gluten free and clearly marked. It takes a lot of the effort out of ordering food. There's little better as a foodie with allergies.
Health nuts and foodie friends UNITE! I have been to Thailand. This place just made me (in 8min 😮) a delicious and authentic tasting fried rice made with... QUINOA! Perfect blend of spicy, fresh, and smoked veggies and tofu. Flavors that pop. I have been searching for you my new Tacoma friend. I travel once weekly from Portland, and will definitely be returning. Great service also. Nice job.
Hidden gem. Lots of great options.
Good food
Super peanut flavor forward masaman curry
Ordered online for spring rolls (without chicken) and a papaya salad. The spring roll was filled with chicken. The papaya salad was alright but the serving was small. Would not recommend.
One of our favorite spots. Great specials and always quick and friendly.
The avocado curry us one of the best things I have ever eaten. Hidden Gem.
Good food
Very good, excellent value, great service.
Good service. Good food.
Delicious and worth the $$$ best thai in town
We eat here all the time, the Staff isn't overly friendly, but the food makes up for it,I get the chicken noodle I just love it and the Thai ice tea is to die for.Ive ate Thai all over, California, Oregon, Texas,LasVegas, and here in Washt at Peanut Sauce it's the best
Enjoyed great service and delicious garlic Brussel sprout lunch special! I will be dining here again soon.
The food was yummy. Way too expensive. The portions are small for the price. Service was also just ok. We will not go back. They charged us $12 for our 7 month old who sat in a high chair and ate baby food i brought.
Holy cowabunga yum yum food here. I literally ordered the same basil dish three times in a row. Today, I ordered an orange dish and soup. By the way everything tastes, I cant imagine anything here is going to be tasting bad. I eat spicy food all day and I don't go above a 2. 5 will make you sweaty and physically uncomfortable. 5 is Great for dieters.
Very tasty, recommended. 5 stars is really 5 stars, be careful!
Best gluten free Thai place in Tacoma. The peanut sauce is bomb.
The owner was very rude. Told me she didn’t want to Offer her service because I asked her to stop with her attitude . I would not recommend this place to anyone due to the service they offer .
I'm really astonished with the poor quality food I reviewed Ed for a takeout order this evening. I usually get takeout here atleast once every two weeks, but today the dishes we received included NONE of the vegetables that it was supposed to. We preferred Basil Fried Rice with Tofu and Red Curry with Tofu- the curry was just a few bamboo shoots and 3 pieces of tofu and the fried rice was essentially soft white rice with carrots and tofu.
I called the restaurant and they took a long time to find my order, speak with cooks and then eventually offer to remake the food but she seemed so uneasy about it, that I felt uncomfortable and said to forget it - unfortunately I won't be visiting peanut sauce again. Go to BT Thai down the road, much better value for the money.
Delicious food and great service. We been coming here since they opened.
Awesome!
The food and service are ALWAYS awesome!!
This place is great - the staff is very friendly and attentive and the food is delicious. I ordered pad woon sen noodles with mixed seafood and it was awesome and the seafood was perfectly cooked. The calamari appetizer is also very good. My boyfriend got the red curry with chicken and added in eggplant and he enjoyed it thoroughly. The food was ready super fast! The prices are also very reasonable - just wish we lived closer!
Update: have been here over 4 times now and I can't emphasize enough how good the food is. Every different dish we've ordered has been delicious and fresh every time. Their crab rangoon is made in-house and is amazing. If you like peanuts, their Massaman curry is not to be missed. Love eating here!!
Very delicious food, great atmosphere, and so many gluten free options. My best friend has celiac disease and she was able to enjoy a wonderful meal with almost no restrictions. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Just arrived at 825pm and was informed they would be closing at 9. My friend was still 5 minutes out. I was seated and provided water but no menu. A member of the staff came out and informed me I would have to order Togo, I said I was waiting on my friend still. I was informed that I needed to order right away or they would not serve me. I thanked them for their time and left the restaurant. I would normally never leave a bad review but they wouldn't give me the chance to leave a good one.
Judging by other reviews I almost feel I was in the wrong restaurant. It was cramped, loud and the service was slow and inexperienced. The food was average and not special enough to tolerate the atmosphere. Play some music to cover the clang of the kitchen and the cries of children. Approach seated tables asap and get drink order. Our server came to the table 15 min after we were sat and the drinks came after the food. We had to flag service down every step of the meal. Stick with takeout on these guys.
Good
Great service, quick, and tasty food. Best part of my work week is getting their takeout, best Thai cuisine I've ever had!
I like it a lot , good food!
Very good food! My usual choice for Thai in Tacoma. Enjoyed my pad see you, avocado curry and Thai coffee. Would go again!
Good food...fast service
Amazing place with a lot of vegan and gluten free options!
Best Pad Thai in Tacoma 💗💗 I love this place. Would give 10 stars if I could 🥰🍲🍜🥟
Great food, good prices and friendly staff. If you get 10/10 spicy, it's perfect for you spicy food people
