Northeastern Isaan Thai restaurant
The Thai restaurant that sale the best duck larb in my opinion. The chef 👩🍳 bring northeastern style of Thai food to New York. Since she here I recommend you try her food and it authentic street Thai food. I love it so much try the duck larb and som tum so delicious. Watch out for the heat it spicy.🌶️
This restaurant is located in Woodside's Thai Town and offers traditional Thai cuisine. Compared to many Thai restaurants in Manhattan, their dishes are more traditional and flavorful, with some options not commonly found elsewhere.
For those wanting to experience authentic Thai food, this place is an excellent choice. Even if you order common Thai dishes that you often have at other Thai restaurants, you'll notice a distinct difference in the taste.
This Thai restaurant was absolutely magnificent! The food was off the charts—every dish bursting with authentic flavors. The Duck Larb and Pad See Ew were simply mind-blowing, perfectly cooked and beautifully balanced. The staff was incredible—knowledgeable, friendly, and full of great recommendations. The service was spotless from start to finish, making the whole experience seamless and enjoyable. Super recomendable, and I’m definitely coming back!
Zaab Zaab means Delicious Delicious and that is what this place is. Cuisine from northeast Thailand, this is not your typical NYC Thai fare with spices and sauces in combinations that sing. We had the Thai green ice tea - refreshing on a hot day and cooled off the legit Thai heat coming from our dishes:
Tom Hang: the tripe and spleen were cooked to perfection - just the right amount of chew and flavor was fresh. Loved the two sauces - one hot, one bitter
Nan Khao Tod: menu says croquettes but it's like the crispy rice at the bottom of a clay pot mixed with a fermented pork sausage. A flavor explosion. So good.
Surf and Turf skewers: tbh this had the last flavor but was cooked to perfection - not overdone at all - very fresh. The flavor and heat came from the dipping sauce.
The salt baked fish: chef's kiss. A must get - I have never had a whole fish cooked to perfection like this. Juicy, steaming, fresh. The herbs and noodles in a rice wrap with two sauces - one chili and peanuts, one tamarind and shallots.
Our servers were attentive and informative. No condescension and joyfully made recommendations.
Inside is bright and welcoming. There's one all-gender bathroom.
We will be back.
Usually never leave reviews but this meal was godly. I got the kee mow extra spicy and the extra spicy made it perfect although it was already delicious. For the drink I got the lychee thai iced tea. I forgot to take a picture of the mango sticky before we started devouring it but it was all 10/10. And to top it off the service was great. Thank you!
From the grill comes goong pow, two prawns as big as Italian sausages, their heads dripping with marigold-colored fat that I would happily spread on toast and eat for breakfast. They are served with a tart, herbaceous nam jim, one of many glittering, faceted gems in Mr. Khotsopa’s repertory of sauces. Nuer yang, the grilled steak dish known as crying tiger, is made with rib-eye and comes with two kinds of the dipping sauce jaew, one tart and slightly spicy, the other darker, with an espresso-like bitterness.
We had been planning to visit Zaab Zaab Elmhurst location for a while and finally got a chance last weekend. Their decor is cozy like home with limited tables but the wait wasn’t too bad.
We heard their Thai style grilled chicken is one of the recommendations from Bib Gourmand so we had Gai Yang Vichean which came with 2 different types of Som Tum, lettuce, sauce and rice to share.
The portion of the chicken was more than enough for 4. It’s a little dry but amazingly delicious to enjoy with unique sauces. It came with 2 different salads and I love the classical Som Tum Thai.
One of our favorites tonight was their Kau Lau Hotpot which the ingredients were various with great portion. The broth was sweet and the meat texture was braised soft.
You come here for the food. Period. It's spicy, sweet, bitter, fresh, but also delicious. The staff is pretty lovely but very small. While they say they have alcohol on the menu, they didn't have the harder alcohol when I went. That's fine. Everything was great and So tasty!
The space itself Could use a bit of an upgrade and sprucing up to make it feel more modern and maybe appear like there's a bit more space etc.
I haven't seen them super busy as a restaurant but expect some delay if they are busy.
The Zaab Zaab fries are my number one favorite! It's a surprise! Also, don't be afraid to try fried duck entrails in your lab. That's So delicious! Branch it' out and try everything.
Zaab Zaab is one of the best Thai restaurants in NYC. I love the larb ped udon, the kapow, the crab fried rice, the tom sum gai hot pot, the mieng pla pow fish. There's great spice and authenticity here. And the atmosphere is super cute and inviting. Best of all, the owners do so much for the community; they're heavily involved in local food relief efforts and are always giving back. It's a place you can feel good about supporting!
food was rlly good and had good customer service
If you want to get SICK, get LIED too and have HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. This is your restaurant. I don't know how they got a Michelin star.
DO NOT ORDER THE HOT POT. The clay pot was cracked on the bottom and a piece of clay was in the soup. Instead of apologizing, the manager decided to ignore us and make us pay 50% of the soup. The manager who decided to lie to us saying she is just a worker yelled at us and said she was calmly talking to us when she wasn't. She was rolling her eyes the whole entire time. Not only did she belittle us, she also LIED to us. She said a cracked clay pot has no health effect and that they just brought the clay pot. I didn't know the manager was also a scientist.
Absolutely delicious meal, as always.
Very nice food, out in 35 minutes..
I've eaten since they first opened, I come like once or twice a year. Always had a great meal. Don't mind the haters, you guys are doing an amazing job. Thank you for the great food!
This is my first time trying the place and I was surprised that there is a high quality thai restaurant near me. This is not going to be my last visit because of good food and good service. I would highly recommend!
This Thai restaurant was absolutely magnificent! The food was off the charts—every dish bursting with authentic flavors. A bit of a mix up on my take out order but they fixed it right up and the food was delicious.
Very authentic Isaan food. We had Tom Ka Gai soup which was spicy and delicious.. The rib eye beef is another must. Service is fast and the waiter was very nice. High recommend.
The place was almost empty. The waiter initially refused to let us sit at a 4 people table. After we ordered food and got our drinks, suddenly he offered to switch us to the bigger table. I didn’t move since we were already settled. As a result, we got served one dish at a time as the table couldn’t fit more plates.
The food is OK. The experience is ridiculous. There are better options in the neighborhood.
Really good 👍🏼
Do not get in an uber, train or bus to come here. The taste of the food is not worth it in any way. I would not even recommend it if you live in the neighborhood. Every thai restaurant likes to advertise itself as being unique or having a different menu because the owners are some different region of part of country, but whatever region the food from here is, they can just keep it to themselves. My partner and i had three dishes, and none of them stood out as amazing, particularly delicious or worth the treck to get here. It was a disappointing Friday night. Either the food has changed in recent years or the editor that wrote the NY Time article raving about this place was high on crack.
Save your money and time and go to a better restaurant. This one aint it.
From the grill comes goong pow, two prawns as big as Italian sausages, their heads dripping with marigold-colored fat that I would happily spread on toast and eat for breakfast. Great food, service, vibe. Steamed whole fish and shrimp appetizer were the stars and the larb was very tasty. Easy to see why this place was one of Pete Well’s favorites.
Ordered food for delivery. And the package is broken. Food was spilled all over. I called back to the restaurant and they didn’t take care. Their manager said it wasn’t their fault even they did it wrap their food properly. Spent over $80 for noting.
got the steak, salted fish, and crab fried rice. Ws about to get the chicken too but, half chicken for $28, yes half chicken.
The steak was cooked well done, I kind of wanted a little pink (med well). The bitter sauce was the most awful thing I've ever tasted but, they did warn that it's a bitter sauce. Fish was good, but a lot of work. No complaints about the crab fried rice.
Usually never leave reviews but this meal was godly. I got the kee mow extra spicy and the extra spicy made it perfect although it was already delicious. For the drink I got the lychee thai iced tea. so good - best Thai food i've ever had - way better than Fish Cheeks in Manhattan
Really nice staff! Love the fried fish and crying tiger.
This is my go to Thai place. The marinated shrimp is divine, you have to try it.
too spicy for me, but the food is great
Most unique and delicious Northeastern Thai food.
I've eaten lots of Thai food, and eas very pleasantly surprised by the unique food offerings they had at this restaurant.
Delicious! 😋

I used to adore zaab zaab and order many times. but lately, the quality has plummeted. The food just doesn't taste the same anymore. I wonder if they've switched up the kitchen team.
One of the best places to get Thai food in New York. Incredibly flavorful, fresh, and spicy! Bring some friends and share a bunch of food, you won’t regret it.
I love Crab fried rice and Tom yum Kung.
The best Thai food in NYC, and I’m NOT JOKING! Service is amazing, provided by servers who are upbeat and willing to make a conversation and advise. Food is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. Please do yourself a favor and order fish and som tum Thai! It is the best salad you’ll have, spicy and crispy ♥️🇹🇭 p.s. Thai tea is an absolute DREAM ✨
Was not greeted by worker. I finally sat down and waited 15min and never got checked on so me and my fiancé left.
Delicious food rude staff
The food was great. The service was ok. Myself and my friends are visiting from outside NY. And we tip based on extraordinary service. That's just us. However, that doesn't mean the employee should call us out on not tipping "enough."
Incredible meal. Totally unique. We had green curry, duck larb, and the half chicken. We’re still talking about it days later. Can’t wait to come back and try the crab curry.
Not a bad place. Food was okay but I've definitely had better. The drama queen waiter what super rude though

Michelin-Bib Zaab Zaab, a Thai restaurant in Elmhurst, has some of the best Isaan local dishes. Their staffs here serve you with a big smile with fantastic service that comes from the heart. Zaab Zaab has the best grilled chicken ever maybe that’s why there’s a beautiful chicken wallpaper on the ceiling, lots of chicken figurines, and delicious grilled chicken hanging through their open windows. Thai iced tea and coffee are both super strong with a perfect balance of milk. Not overpowering at all. The Tom Zaab is super deliciously spicy. The Gao Yang Vichean Buri combo is the amazingly taste grilled chicken which also comes with a papaya salad. Flavorful and tender chicken with a crispy skin paired with two different dipping sauces. Sounds delicious right? Go try and experience a different kind of grilled chicken.

Staff not very polite
Very delicious and flavorful food. I just wish they lowered their prices a bit. $20 for a laab gai? That's just too much in today's Economy. Some of these thai restaurant owners should make reasonable thai food that makes people full and gets the job done when it comes to hunger. Can honestly say the thai food scene in america is a far cry from that in thailand. Too much focus on making the food look fantasy for instagram or views and less on the flavor or portion sizes. Overall i like this place very much, my only issue is that the prices are unreasonable. Other then that everything I've tasted was delicious.
The service was ok. The food is not really impress. from the price you paid. I don’t like the way they made Papaya salad. There are other places that make better. Thai basil is really good. ( I mean you couldn’t go wrong with this dish) Hor mok is alright.
Overall is just ok but wouldn’t go back again.
FYI it is a street parking so we had to drove around and parked a few blocks away. Not an area to drive if you wanna eat here.
Love this restaurant and have been here many, many times! They are always so friendly and the food is exciting and interesting. They even were willing to accommodate an outdoor eating request in the rain. It was incredibly kind and we really appreciated it.
great selection of authentic food, plus their spicy is actually spicy and you can ask for thai spicy if you are brave enough 🙃
Truly delicious unique menú. Very nice and friendly service. I loved the fried whole fish selection.
Top-tier Isan Thai food in NYC!
Overall, the food was quite good - the duck larb was a highlight and the Kapow (Kra Pao) was good but not quite as special. Loved the fries as a snack/app. Prices were reasonable, service was good, and the ambiance was fantastic with the live Thai music (Friday and Sunday after 6:30!).
Worth a stop if you’re in the area, and worth a short trip if you’re not.
I used to love this place when they opened the business last year. But lately they have raised the price several times. And it gets incredibly expensive and overpriced. And the biggest problem for this place is when you order food from here, they won’t modify the spicy level or saltiness and sourness taste for you. Smh!!!
Excellent food, very friendly staff and a sweet atmosphere! My husband and I went there for our anniversary and the staff surprised us with a free dessert and sparkling candles! We had a great time and would definitely come back.
The food is exceptional- delicious, unique offerings and just out of this world flavorful. Even better than some restaurants I visited in Thailand!
The crab fried rice really bad what you pay for. Seriously for $24??? Try in Soothr thai and then compare . Way too expensive for the quality and taste. Never again.
La comida era rica pero luego nos percatamos que en la cocina habían muchas moscas. Fue muy desagradable ver eso mientras comíamos.
Great spot highly recommend you try it!
Everything about this place was fantastic. We walked in and it was very nicely decorated. The waiter was very friendly and explained the menu to us and how it differs a bit from most Thai food (more flavor and spice being the main thing). I can't remember the name of the dish I ordered unfortunately, but it was grilled whole tilapia with some rice and vegetables on the side. Absolutely delicious and perfect amount of spice for me. Legitimately the best fish I've had in my life. I will certainly be coming back next time I'm in NYC.
Cool place but honestly everything was over fish sauced by a lot.
I loved the spice but literally needed so much rice just to be able to eat the larb. Same for the papaya salad. Also the pickled bamboo shoots was the saltiest of all.
Was sad because I wanted to like it.
Fish also was very dry on one side. Not sure what happened there.
The only well executed dish for this meal was the crab fried rice.
Such a wonderful place. Went three times in a week. A symphony of grilled meat, chilies, and herbs. Gorgeous presentations. Best Thai food I have ever had—by a country mile.
First time trying Northeastern Isan-style Thai cooking and it was pretty good.
The server was quite informative and gave us recommendations. We had the Larb Ped Udon (minced duck breast, fried liver and duck skin), Som Tum Pla Ra (papaya salad with fermented fish sauce), Gai Yang (Rotisserie chicken).
This place is busy and fill up quickly, so come early if you want to dine indoor. It’s not a big place inside but there are plenty outdoor seatings.
Some of the best Thai in the city.
Order some chicken Gai yan and I have to say that this plate it’s just a waste of money.
1/4 of dry chicken few herbs on top and a ok sweet sauce
The rice was dry like paper no flavor no salt no oil . This plate was $21 and I would though that for $21 dollar you will get the rice. No the rice is extra $3 👎🏼
-the only good thing about this experience was the Tai ice tea.
-The service was good 9/10
-Place was nice but it had a weird smell.
7-10
-I have to say I didn’t like it and it was expensive for a chicken dish .Don’t think I’m coming back
Nuer yang order medium rare but i got overcooked and 5 orders sticky rice hard rock can’t even’t eat it . 2 orders papaya salad first bite i got rock sugars . Duck salad is was ok . Try to finish the food but I can’t even finish just throw away . Idk why so many good review here . I spend 156$ not worth at all. I do not recommend to anyone here for the price not worth at all
poor attention to detail when it comes to life threatening food allergies.
Ordered shrimp pad Thai and specified no peanuts due to an allergy, but they served with peanuts anyway and it made me sick.
Thankfully despite rumour to the contrary, the heat levels have not been lowered to suit a wider clientelle's tolerance. Som Tum refreshing as usual, the beef and duck larb both need a water refill to finish. Place is packed as usual since becoming popular on the 'gram and on JBA list. Service was a bit slow including getting menus, bill, dishes.
It was new year dinner with family.. it was amazing food.. I live a few blocks away.. there are many Thai restaurants to choose.. but I end up going there..
we got Pla Dook Yang ( marinated grilled catfish) the quality of fresh fish you can’t deny.
Mieng pls pow ( it could say that their signature dish..) too good to be real.. forgot to take photos..
don’t forget to order Tom Zaab.. you won’t regret.😉
Note / remind them ( less salt or spicy) it would be your the best experience Thai food.
Here I’m again updating my reviews…
I come here often coz my neighbour and love the food. 5/16 on Tuesday around 10pm.. it was only 2 tablets and 1 table outside not that busy hR .. I don’t aspect of the server was give us attitude that we come here for free food .
He missed our some of the orders.. also when we tried to order more..the attitude was unbelievably… I don’t think we deserved to treat that way….
I May think about to go back…
This place is amazing. Although you need to be cautious of what you order if you have a low spice tolerance . The food is really spicy. The fish is really fun too eat and it is delicious. The fries are seasoned so well.
Delicious but expensive
I’m a huge fan of Thai food and specially spicy 🌶 so the whole 5 stars go to Leng Zaab Zaab soup, it was soooo delicious and spicy I really loved it! Will definitely came back for this.
We did order also whole fried fish PLa Takrai - nothing special so I wouldn’t recommend it.
Will definitely come back for more soups and will try new dishes!
Service was a little too much, the server was checking on our tables way too many times.
Avoid to go the this restaurant. Go to Williamsburg.
Definitely not worth going with so many other Thai restaurants within the 2 blocks radius. Pad Thai is soggy and sweet like dessert. No flavor. Lard duck only tastes sour and salty. Grilled pork neck meat has no grill mark and tastes like braised pork neck.
Nicely decorated restaurant. Ive been to many thai restaurants and i would say that zaab zaab’s flavors is definitely different. We asked for mild spicy but its still really spicy for me. I wasn’t able to eat more of it due to the spice. If the spiciness was something that i can tolerate il prolly enjoy these dishes but still very good flavors.
PS: i included a picture of the spot where we almost slipped 3 times. Maybe consider taking a look at that spot as it tends to get cramp at that area if people are occupying the spaces around it. Better be safe than having an occupational hazard. Lastly there were a few flies flying around.
I went there on a Monday night at 9pm. One of the old looking server with white hair and a hat was totally not friendly at all. A server younger than him with glasses welcomed us first, he was patient explaining the menu. Later the old server would stare at us with a mad face and seems to talk behind our back because we ordered only one meal for two people. He just would stare at us from the bar wishing we all would leave early. When he came to give the check, he didn’t even say thank you. We said thank you when we left and he didn’t say anything at all back and just look at us mad. I don’t know what was his problem. Overall, the food there is decent but the price is a little bit on the pricy side and the menu need more pictures because I was totally lost only reading the menu. The servers need to be a lot more welcoming and friendly.
This place is beyond good. The food is unbelievable.
This place is awesome. The service and the food is definitely all great. We had pork larb, papaya salad (Som tum Thai), and Neur Yang (rib eye). Food came out fast, it was delicious. Larb was spicy just a warning ⚠️, still tasty. In and out in an hour. Highly recommend.
came in on a Friday night with no reservations and we were seated at this lone table next to the bar. the location was awkward but we rolled with it. after a little bit, the restaurant quickly filled up.
the menu seems a little different from what you'd typically find in other Thai restaurants, focusing mostly on northern Thai food. we got the following to try:
-som tum thai: crunchy and refreshing green papaya salad, a good palate cleanser.
-prawn pad thai: a tad too sweet for our taste (not even the lime could fix) and lacked the wok hei/char that you'd typically get. good portion size!
-grilled pork collar: very tender but somewhat fatty, the dipping sauce was delicious!
service was great and the staff checked in on us pretty frequently. our main grip is that the tables were too small. our plate were literally hanging off of the table and we had to do some creative re-arranging to fit everything in. i do think a lot of ppl eat family-style here, so bigger tables would be awesome! also, it is a little pricier but you do get big portions. i had enough leftovers to make two meals out of it. overall, a very solid spot and reservations are HIGHLY recommended.
OMG the food is so good here. Service is great as well. I will say it’s hard to pay $8 for a can of Singha, though.
The duck larb to me was one of the nastiest things I have ever eaten in my life. I order through Uber eats but prefer pio pio chicken to there’s. The flavor is there just don’t think it’s worth the price.
Very close to what I tasted in northern Thailand cuisine. Unfortunately, all the three dishes I ordered are super spicy, we couldn’t finish all. the spice taste is so typical thai spicy, like dried pepper chip with lime , spicy and sour. I will go back for their small bites and whole fish next time
Amazing food and service!!! Ordered the bamboo shoots and pork belly Hor Mok with a side of sticky rice, it was very fragrant and tasty! The salt encrusted whole fish was perfectly cooked and it came with great sauces and a mountain of fresh herbs to eat it with. I thought the spice level was perfect. I don’t usually do google reviews but this place deserves a much higher rating!!!
Its a very small restaurant and the food is great!
Delicious authentic Thai/Laos food. Definitely new favorite in the area!
Food is great, very authentic Northern Thai cuisine. Super spicy and flavorful. But why are the cocktails $19 and the draft beers $12? I go to amazing restaurants all over NYC and $15 - $16 for a nice cocktail is more the norm, and $19 is way too much.
Food is very spicy (for me - a white person) and I love it! The owner and staff are very friendly, highly recommend the Larb. Will definitely be coming back here!
First time I was there a couple of weeks ago with my wife. The Beef steak portion is so small especially after taking out so much fat that came with it. Literally nothing to eat.
The Thai salad is so so hot and salty that, again could not eat much.
We drove over an hour to get there but all in all, it's such a disappointment
I'll be real here and say we came here after seeing a Righteous Eats TikTok about this place, but I'm so glad we stopped by. Zaab Saab is an amazing place to get Isaan Thai food!
The service was quick and friendly, and our server even made recommendations when we asked. I am a spicy food fiend, so I adored the spicy levels of the food here even if it did make me cry just a little bit 😉. In any case, the Thai iced tea made a refreshing addition to our meal. Add the raw marinated black crab to your dish if you can! It really reminds me of Korean raw marinated crab, with an interesting punch to it.
I also really loved the decor. Interestingly, it's very chicken-centered in there, which gives it a funky and interesting vibe!
Went to this place for a dinner on weekend. I heard this is an authentic Thai Isan food in that area. The resturent got a good ambiance. I ordered fried rice, whole cat fish, pan Thai, and beef steak. The food tastes was quite okay (can be spicy depending on your level). I did not like the pad Thai that much, but the whole cat fish and fired rice really good.
Amazing unique flavors at this tiny Thai restaurant …we traveled from Manhattan and it was worthwhile. The combinations of spices are just sensational …the next door table order the whole fish and I wish we had a bigger appetite because it looked incredible. We loved the dishes we ordered, although it’s hard to repeat the names.
Everything is genuinely scrumptious, even after my tongue became numb from the spiciness of the dishes. The duck larb was terrific, and the fresh green papaya was elevated with fish sauce and pieces of fresh crab.
This place was worth the hype! Delicious food. We ordered the ribs hot pot, the pad Thai, crab fried rice, the grilled rib eye and pork belly. All were amazing and definitely not your average Thai place. The spiciest thing we had was definitely the hot pot but nothing we couldn’t handle, especially with a few sips of Thai iced tea in between bites. Would definitely come again.
Authentic and unique Isan Thai dining experience. Rather than the familiar classics like Pad Thai and Curries, Zaab Zaab features dishes such as papaya salad with fermented crab and laarb with offal. Be forewarned that while the flavors are excellent, this was one of the spiciest meals that I have eaten in awhile.
Excellent food. The authenticity and taste are impeccable.
Very good laab gai. Even tho it was very spicy I did enjoy it. Good portions for the price as well.
A lively and vibrant restaurant. Service was very attentive. We got the Tom Zaab and the crab fried rice. Both have excellent flavor. Beware of Tom Zaab at regular spice. It packs quite a punch. Large portions.
Space is a bit small, I recommend getting reservations. Bring a coat, the seats near the windows are chilly.
Not your typical place for pad Thai or green curry. Try their seafood. Will come back again.
Spicy duck salad was yummy
We’ve been meaning to come here ever since @consumingcouple recommended top Thai places to go to in their videos. Zaab Zaabs food strays away from the common Thai food we see around elmhurst and instead introduces a mix of flavors we’ve never even tried before.
•Moo Tod Pla Ra 8.5/10 (crispy poke belly oiliness balanced well with the vinegary fish sauce)
•Neur Yang 8.5/10 (juicy flavorful ribeye went well with the sweet tangy tamarind sauce)
•Gaeng Om 5/10 (acquired taste; I personally thought it was too much ginger flavor, too spicy, not enough curry which is what we initially asked for)
Not worthy, found a hair in the dish, not much service, minimum tip 20% & the tip is AFTER TAX.
Great Isaan food; the spicy-level on the larb is no joke. Get the fries to offset.
Small portions and mediocre to flavorless. Ridiculously overpriced!! What a waste of money!
I gave this place a try because of the great reviews which now I see so not true.
They should change their restaurant name to Salt Salt. It's just a Hype Place.
Chicken krapow was amazing!
Spice warning! You can’t adjust the level of spiciness. I only lasted 3 bites before waving the white flag and downing a Thai iced tea! My husband who has a higher spice tolerance made it through the meal barely. The flavor was good but would have enjoyed it more had I been able to eat more!
I heard about zaab zaab before and wanted to try before they open in Tangram mall in Flushing.
I ordered to go the Kapow (beef) and the Kao Pad Po (crab fried rice). I thought both were made well with a ton a flavor.
The Kapow was too salty for me and my husband though, so we couldnt finish the dish in one meal- but thats not always a bad thing! We can mix some more rice for leftovers the next day.
The Kao Pad Po was good. It reminded me of the chinese crab fried rice dish. Im not sure if i would order it from here next time. I feel like at the chinese restaurants, they provide much more crab meat than zaab zaab did.
Overall, the bill came out to ~$47 for the two entrees. Kind of on the pricier side but worth a try.
A great hip place for authentic Thai regional Isan food. We ordered a dish from almost every category (but not any seafood). Everything was quite spicy (especially the soup) so make sure to request and adjust the spice level according to your tolerance. I think if I were to come back I'd definitely go for the grilled steak and whole fish options!
We went for lunch and this is our first time here. I'm native Thai and I have to say, the food here tastes very authentic. This is the same you will experience in Thai-Esarn restaurant. Not only the taste but the presentation on dishes are also good. We ordered Gang OM - Beef (Spicy soup), Sup Normai (Spicy preserved bamboo shoot), Papaya Salad(Som Tum Thai), Larb Ped Udon, Grilled beef(Crying Tiger). For me everything tastes really good. But Larb Ped is outstanding and you will not find this menu regularly in any Thai Earn restaurant. I love their food that they serve with the side vegetables. The only down side for me is, you can't adjust the level of spiciness. You can only have regular spicy (which is the real spicy), super spicy and super duper spicy which means if you do not like the spicy or barely eat spicy food, you may not enjoy the food here except you order non spicy menu such as Gai Yang (Grilled chicken) or Nae Yang (Grill Beef). But if you love spicy food, you won't be disappointed coming here. The service is great. The restaurant is comfortable and clean.
That authentic Thai cuisine
Good place for spicy authentic Thai food. The larb was flavorful, but there was one herb on the side that's super bitter, would have appreciated if someone at the restaurant told us about it cus it's not a well known herb. The kapow is pretty good too, not as spicy and quite salty (but in a good way). The papaya salad (som tum) was very sour but i like that. Would return to try their zaab zaab spicy option because the base level of spice is already pretty spicy. Thai iced teas were a little too sweet for me but i guess that's the norm. Sticky rice was not warm enough
This is the second time we went to this restaurant, and it didn’t disappoint us. The food are fresh and well prepared. We tried their crying tiger dish (nuer yang), grilled catfish (pla dook yang), chargrilled pepper and chilli (nam prik noom) alongside 2 sticky rice and a jasmine rice. The beef was cooked just right, and the fish was very well seasoned. The nam prik noom was proper spicy. I’ll definitely go back to try other things on the menu.
Very good Food. Nice เสือร้องไห้
Highly recommended
Great food and incredible service. The owner was very helpful in helping us order. Recommend the ribeye crown tiger.
If you look for Thai-Isarn home cooking, here is the place.
Delicious food. Dishes can be very spicy. Ask for mild unless you like it VERY hot!
Unique Thai food and mostly spicy. Only tilapia and catfish for seafood? Although the catfish was good, never a fan of tilapia. The only thing that bothered me was we are being rushed when no one was waiting for a table.
Looking at the inconsistent reviews I guess these guys aren’t able to give consistently good food since the times blew them the fuq up. Prices are WAAAY overpriced. There’s 1 bathroom with watery hand soap in it 😷 They won’t check on your table. We had either mad salty or under seasoned food that took way too long. Never been to a Thai place that doesn’t say hi, bye or thank you. Too many amazing Thai restaurants to choose from for 1/2 the price 😂
