Colorful paintings of flowers adorn this cheerful eatery serving Thai soups, rolls & curries.
Cute and small Thai restaurant tucked away in a corner strip mall. We had driven passed it many times and finally stopped in for a, quick bite.
Food was pretty good. I would say above average for Thai restaurants. Prices may be considered high for some, but given how much rent is in places like Bellevue, Redmond, and Kirkland, i don't fault them for charging what they need to.
Service is very friendly, with a family vibe.
I love how small and cozy this place is. It was very inviting and the customer service was on point. It was my first time trying their food, and it was delicious. I do recommend their yellow curry fried rice. They do have meat options. I chose the pork. I also have to say I'm a sucker for Thai tea, too.
On the way in seeing the 'Okay' food safety rating on the window made me concerned. Even though the door dinged as we entered we waited multiple long minutes before we were acknowledged and waved to a table. The person taking our order seemed distracted and possibly hard of hearing since she made us repeat the order and was practically yelling when she spoke. The food itself was the only thing that wasn't a negative part of this experience. The food was tasty and hot. However we had ordered two thai teas that were never brought; and since nobody came to check on us i was unable to bring ut up until she came with the check. She did in fact charge us for them, and when i mentioned them she took my card and came back with a single tea. I had to again go up and ask for the second one. We saw others seated after us that got very similar disappointing treatment. Definitely do not recommend this place. We won't be returning. I don't know how it has such a good rating, maybe we just came on a off day?
I've been going to this restaurant since a little kid since we moved here, and it has always been a favorite, everything about this place is just so perfect. I personally really like ordering the fresh rolls as an appetizer and Mongolian beef as a main, and a coke to drink and with a side of jasmine rice. My parents and I also really enjoy the curry here. Such a welcoming and wonderful restaurant.
The Pad Thai was quite tasteless, the beef especially and I always ask for five stars on the spice level when that’s the maximum and I can’t taste any spice at all. Pad Thai is a hit or miss it seems but this time, unfortunately it was a miss for me. The staff was friendly and the interior of the building looked inviting, however mine was takeout so I can’t speak to that too much. Also, I’m not sure if this is common for the area, but no utensils or soy sauce was provided, however I checked the back and went back for soy sauce at least and had forks in the hotel from other takeout
I really loved eating here! The atmosphere was cozy and the service was very friendly and efficient! The veggie fried rice was delicious and very flavorful, and my husband's pad Thai was delicious too! Definitely recommend this place for a cozy romantic date with good food and nice people!
The best and most consistent Thai restaurant in the area. The staff is incredible and every item on the menu that I've tried is delicious every time. Also, very cute and calm inside.
Great food and fast service.
Underrated, not pretty inside but the food tastes amazing, the crispy duck is our fav, make sure to try it.
EDIT: Previously bad edit, wrong restaurant.

TL;DR - if you are the manager or the owner of this restaurant, you should know that your guy answering the call is incompetent and rude to customers.
——
ordered for delivery. no food arrived. no response from the driver. called the restaurant. the guy on the phone kept holding me on the line for 10 min while doing other business. finally, asked for re-delivery, but the guy kept refusing and blaming door dash. just hung up on me three times. called door dash to push through the re-delivery request. the same guy on the phone refused the re-order from door dash. called again to speak to the manager or the owner - hung up again. called again to ask for the guy’s name and hung up on me again.

Great food, Pat the cook is the best out there. Makes phenomenal food and their service is great! Couldn’t recommend more!
Cozy place. Amazing food!
Excellent quality food. Reasonably priced. Fast and well organized.
Server needed help today.
Best duck and great service!
Best Panang Curry on the eastside. One of my favorite date spots.

UPDATE:
We used to love coming to this restaurant, but the quality of food and the service has gone downhill. We ordered the Pad Kee Mao and Yellow Curry and both were subpar. The beef in the Pad Kee Mao was difficult to chew and tasted like it had just been sitting on a grill for a long time. The peppers in the Pad Kee Mao were cold somehow.
*** Review from 2019 ***
Definitely recommend the massaman curry and the mango sticky rice! The mango sticky rice portion was pretty large, so we were glad we split an entree and a dessert. The service was delightful and the decorations were quirky and fun. Will definitely be coming back. There were only 2 other table busy on a Saturday afternoon, but there was a steady stream of orders to go.
Food is great , a little expensive , downside is service : prepare for it to take longer than expected to serve anything

Amazing yellow curry! Great customer service and such a cute place. Would highly recommend!
Family style, excellent food. Anytime I am in Redmond I eat there.
Nice ambience and service. Got the Drunken Noodles and it was super sweet. Could hardly taste other flavors. No smokey flavor. No spice. Just soy sauce and sugar and basil. Otherwise had good ingredients. Please change your sauce.
Very respectful polite and sincere people. Family business... the food is high quality, fresh, local, and their secret recipe makes it different than a lot of copy cats. Mother amazing artist. Father is incredible chef. Theres a staff that works behind the scenes that is treated like family with honor and respect. The new owners can be trusted. They do tours of Southeast Asia as a side business. Ask for Kiki.
Very good option for enjoying Thai foods!

Our favorite Thai in all the eastside area. Highly recommend the crispy garlic chicken.
Everything tastes delicious and the food is always consistent.
Loved the food and the staff. Vegetarian friendly and are well versed in food allergies. Some of the best Thai food in the area.
Delicious! Wonderful, friendly, family owned business. We will be back :)
Too expensive now, used to be a great mom and pop shop I’d go to regularly
Good food. The five stars are spicy and they can make it Thai spicy. The chicken wasn't very moist, but the food was flavorful. The server/ owner was very friendly. I will eat here again. It is good enough. It should be 4.5 stars.. but there isn't any option to take away 0.5.
Food is delicious, hot and healthy. Service very friendly!
I placed a large takeout order here for a production team and it was a wonderful experience! The owner was super kind, the food was ready well on time, and it was delicious! I highly recommend checking this place out!
Decent food. Quick service.
Cozy Thai restaurant in Bellevue/Kirkland area. They serve really good Thai food and the service is attentive. It’s a small
place that gets crowded during dinner hours, so do reserve tables in advance. Great option for family dinners.
My husband and I love coming here. He always gets the pineapple curry and I get the crispy garlic chicken, we drink Vietnamese coffee and Thai tea. So good!
Fast authentic tasty. Allowed me to customize my order. Will go again.
Best in town
I’m a regular here. My favorites are the roasted duck and the curries. Fantastic place with a laid back atmosphere and very good food.
This place is the best, it smelled so good when I walked in I wanted to take a bite out of a wooden chair
Stellar service despite just one person running the front of house. I ordered the Khao noodle soup and it was a great disappointment. The noodles were soggy and not bouncy at all like egg noodles should be. I honestly think it was just wheat noodles w/ no egg. The chicken thigh in the soup was also gross as well as the broth. 🤢🤢🤢
Sorry but I definitely won’t come back.
With only one person managing all tables, one can expect poor to no service, lack of attention and much more. Do not recommend if you have dietary restrictions like me, inspite of clearly mentioning got the wrong order. Replacement was burnt. We were just two, and there were exactly 4 other tables with people, order took too long to arrive. Do not recommend for family with kids as the place is cramped and orders take too long. Had the order been correct or prepared delicious, I may have overlooked the delay and the mistake, well neither happened, overall terrible experience to say the least.
I ordered online, it said your order will be ready in 40 minutes. I come 45 minutes later. They say my order will be ready in 10 minutes. I come back 12 minutes later. He says 2 more minutes. What’s the point of ordering ahead for pickup? I’ve been waiting in the restaurant 30 minutes now just for a pickup order.
Do not come here. I don’t think the food will be worth this bad time management.
Edit: They said my order would be ready at 7:34, I got to the car with my food at 8:04 pm. I ate the food. My pad see ew was excessively greasy. $17 for below average food and bad service was so frustrating. Seattle needs to fix its restaurant scene
Delicious food; no qualms there. However, deducting two stars due to the inconspicuous default 15% gratuity added to the receipt for a party of 2, which, if overlooked, could lead to unintentional overtipping. We almost tipped 35% but discovered the default gratuity added when we felt something odd about the total amount.
Had hair in food. The apetizer sample was not good at all.
We had the chicken pad Thai and chicken pad see ew. Both were delicious! The sauces are very flavorful. We also had the Bangkok trio appetizer. It's a great option for a smaller group because each person gets to try a few different items.
The avocado curry is absolutely my favorite item on the menu. I used to live in this area and moved. When I'm back I will order it as many times as humanly possible. For a two week trip I ordered from here 4 times. I think about this meal for weeks after and sometimes even have dreams where it appears. HIGHLY recommend. My coworker for the pad thai and it was okay. The iced coffee here is also wonderful.
Great for a Thai takeout, they are quick and the food is really good. I now prefer takeout as they tend to be short staffed to provide quick, attentive, service for dine-in.
Green curry and Pad Thai are always good.
Service here is always bad. Every time I come here, the owner doesn’t care. It take her a very long time to seat us and a very long time to come take orders even she is not busy! I haven’t come here for years just today I am near. I will go to Kirkland next time, the same dish I wanted is $5 less and service is a lot better.
Our family had a wonderful dinner there celebrating a birthday. Seven people ordered a variety of food and drinks. Everyone was thrilled with the great food and service.
We have ordered takeout from this place 3 different times since moving to the area and it’s been exceptional every time. Like so mouthwatering that we wished we had ordered more.
Great food
Our favorite Thai restaurant in the area. Food is excellent, service is great.
The staff is super friendly, great food and service. Quiet atmosphere.
Started off by telling us they close in an hour while seating us, a major no no. We both ordered Khao-soi and there were no crunchy noodles on top. The server forgot our drinks. He forgot our dessert twice so we didn't even ask again. He was very rude. While eating I could see they were turning people away over and over because they close in an hour. At $19 a plate you would think they would have some respect for their customers and not treat them like cattle. We felt unwelcomed and rushed the whole time we were eating. I will never be back.
Had the tom yum noodle soup. Got food poisoning, it was terrible, vomiting and chills and diarrhea. However, there were a lot of takeout orders and people coming in later, so I assume food poisoning is rare here and I got unlucky. Also, when I came in the restaurant was mainly empty but the hostess sat me down at a small table back in the corner. Didn't make me feel like a valued customer. Cute decor but I won't be coming back.
My favorite Thai/Asian restaurant in Seattle area. I wish they were bigger. We have dined there for years and we look forward to eating there every time we go there.
Delicious Thai food! Super cute, clean restaurant.
Their roast duck dish is one of the most amazing dishes I have had. They usually serve crispy roasted duck with a coconut gravy on the side (like the masaman gravy) which absolutely goes amazingly well with the dish.
The reason I gave 2 stars is cause this time when we ordered the roast duck, they cut up the pieces of the duck and just put it in the gravy. This made the duck loose all its texture and there were barely any pieces.
I had always felt the price adapt for the roast duck but for this it felt cheated to be priced 23$. If I wanted it in a curry style, I could have just ordered a masaman curry for 18 bucks.
This restaurant lost my trust, don't think I will go back to buy more.
One of the best thai place
Start off with what you all want to know HUGE portions and extremely fast service. I am not one to usually go for Thai food but this is the best bang for the buck and is delicious. Chicken Fried rice is a must Even on busy nights our food is ready before we can get there to pick it up. Never had a wait longer than 20 min. So glad we are able to sit back in the restaurant!
I have been going here for many years and it is by far my favorite Thai restaurant in the area! A hidden gem that deserves more attention!
Super fast service and delicious food.
I went on a Sunday dinner without reservation but could get a table immediately. I had tom kha soup, Pad thai noodles and Cashew chicken. The quantity was huge and totally justified the price. Taste was good but found the tom kha soup to be average.
Service was amazingly fast.
It’s a small place with a cozy ambiance. Overall recommended.
Oh man, where do I start? This really is the best. I feel like I was transported back to my days in Bangkok!
We ordered tamarind prawns, pad Thai, green curry, and a Thai iced tea. The tamarind prawns were not memorable, tasted like coconut shrimp but w/ tamarind. However, even though the tamarind prawns were a skip, the rest of the dishes were bursting with flavor.
Love the ambiance and the service was exceptional! They are so friendly! They even gave us an extra spring roll for free with smiles. I probably could eat here everyday if I could! I highly highly recommend.
Amazing food!
Everything was yummy!
Crispy garlic chicken was overcooked. Tofu fried rice and crispy duck were good.
Their Pad Thai and green curry were good. The veggie stir fry was too saucy and wet for my tastes. The seasonal mango sticky rice was excellent.
Fast Service and portion size was good. Served family style so sharing entrees is easy! Very small restaurant with limited seating, so during busy hours it gets fill fast!
It was so sticky. Five stars.
It was so rice. Five stars.
Very delicious and well presented Thai food.
I’m so glad we have this in Redmond. Our go-to Thai, fresh and flavorful.
The food was pretty good, and the service was fast and nice.
What a cute little place! And the food was awesome and the service was super friendly. I had the Avocado Curry which had a creamy, yummy coconut sauce with perfectly ripe avocado and tender chicken.
We regularly order food from here. It is very delicious. However in the recent times the prices have gone up and the food quantity is reduced. I understand that it’s because of inflation but a order of mango sticky rice costs $15.
Ordered curry fried rice with tofu. The tofu had gone bad.
He was unapologetic and asked to bring back the food to get a refund. He could have just checked the tofu they already had in the kitchen.
Drove back 20 minutes. He verified and accepted it had gone bad and gave refund.
Not dining here ever again. Poor service.
This place is great! Everything I've had has been delicious.
One of mine and my wife's favorite places to eat in the Redmond area. The place is small, but the food is amazing, and the staff is very friendly.
Best Thai food in downtown Redmond. My girlfriend and I come here whenever we need good comfort food. Never disappoints.
I usually get the pad thai or pad see ew. Both are great.
LOVE this local gem. Our go-to place for Thai, whether dining in or taking out. Super cozy, welcoming and thoughtful decor creates an atmosphere that surpasses competitors. Friendly small business owners offering delicious food and attentive service. Our family favorites are the tom yum soup, pad Thai, swimming Rama, panang curry and chicken satay. We often bring our out of town guests here for lunch or dinner.
I ordered the shrimp pad thai and it was absolutely delicious. Lots of flavor and cooked perfectly. Will return again!
Take home food was top notch. Ordering online was easy. Would eat here again.
Amazing little place with good ambience and food tastes awesome here. They prepare fresh food and the service is quick. Best Thai food I ever had and this has become my regular 'go-to' place for lunch. Red chicken curry, fried tofu with peanut sauce are my regular orders.
Love this place!
I get Takeout or eat in there often! Quick service and delicious food.
Great place. Friendly stuff. Recommend to everyone!
Great food served in very less time - almost like magic. And very cozy atmosphere as well.
Good food
Very authentic Thai food, amazing take out time and quality dishes. A must try!!
Came in for lunch, no one was at the front. Several people behind the curtain less than 5 feet away totally ignored me, called out, rang the bell on the counter, just continued to ignore. Their phone also rang 3 times while I was there as well and they didn't answer it once or come to the front. Seems like a nice atmoshphere inside, don't know if the food is good, since I didn't get a chance to try it. Terrible customer service, or actually I guess, no customer service at all. Won't be coming back.
The best Thai food around Bellevue/Redmond area. VALUE for the money, they are not stingy like Bai Tong or Thai Ginger where the prices are the same but they provide far less tasty and quantity.
The Phad see ew was amazing! Highly recommended!
Never order take out! I ordered the Pad Thai and basically got a 1 lb of noodles and 3 pieces of chicken and nothing else. Unfortunately the flavor of the noodles are bland. This was my first time and last time ordering food here. I should have known from the fact that they didn't have an option for spicy. Strong don't recommend! Huge bummer especially because of all the five stars review.
Duck and curry. Very tasty. Fresh rolls. Would recommend.
Pretty good Thai food
Super Delicous food!! Great service and will come back! Definitely recommend, the flavor and textures are amazing 👏
Very delicious and well presented Thai food. Like other Thai food restaurants, they can also make a vegan version out of a lot of dishes on their menu. We thoroughly enjoyed the drunken noodles and yellow curry. The place is small but it has a nice and peaceful vibe of its own. The staff was very courteous and polite. Highly recommended.
Best food ever
First time at Bangkok Basil, what I really liked is the ambience. I ordered Pad Kee Mao with tofu which was over-fried and very chewy. Noodles had a very weird smell (never felt such smell elsewhere) and the second dish we ordered was Bangkok Basil with Chicken which was very hard. The worst experience, as I was leaving after paying the bill, the lady who served, called me from behind asking "you didn't leave any tip for me" I politely mentioned that the food was not good at all and surprising she was not bothered about it. All she cared about was the tip. We had a toddler with us, who was holding the salt bottle, she literally snatched it from his hand. Not a good experience at all.
We always loved getting takeout from here…. But today we had the worst customer service when the guy who answered the phone was rude, and said it was a waste of time to repeat the order and hung up!!!! Never going there again!!!!
I feel too spoiled by Ocha in Renton.
That being said, Bangkok Basil is good and a solid 8/10.
Amazing food! Great service. I would love to visit this restaurant again. Highly recommend.
Food is ok, but customer service is terrible. The waitress literally kicked me out mid meal. Never going here again.
The food at Bankok basil was really great. This was the first time I ordered Panang curry and it a really good choice. I also had mango with jasmine sticky rice which was delicious. Another amazing thing I had was noodles. What I didn't like about the place was ambience and the service. I felt the lady who was serving as waitress was bit arrogant. She could have used some politeness.
Crab fried rice is superb. One of the only Thai places I have seen with chicken satay that is not dried out. Choo chee Salmon and coconut shrimp also really good.
I'm absolutely obsessed with this place. The BEST crab rangoons I have ever had. The pad Thai is the best I've had as well. Super cute restaurant.
Food and service was just OK. A bit overpriced IMO.
Worst treatment. No respect and absolutely they don’t care about the customers. Will never go again to this restaurant.
My favorite Thai food in the PNW. Everything I've tried on the menu is great, but my particular favorites are Pad Kee Mao, Crispy Basil Chicken, and the Panang Curry.
Thai fried rice was superb!!
We ordered takeout from the restaurant and the food was ready in approximately 30 mins. One of the better Thai restaurants in the area, would definitely visit again in the future.
If you have food preferences like no meat, vegan, etc then avoid this place and save your time and karma!!! On multiple occasions, either the person taking the order screws up or the folks in the kitchen mess up. They don’t respect vegan and end up adding chicken or egg in the order. On multiple occasions, I had to drive all the way back from home to get it fixed. I have had it today and am done giving them the benefit of doubt every time! I am NEVER going back here!
Semi-cooked food that didn’t have the smell, taste and warmth of a fresh food served from stove. It tasted like food taken from fridge and microwaved somewhat. On top, veggies weren’t fully cooked. Wouldn’t go there again.
DON'T ORDER TO-GO
Was very upset at the note provided for the pick up order was ignored. Why bother having a "special requests" section if you aren't going to read it anyways?? Came home to realize my food was filled with an ingredient that I requested to be omitted.
After paying 40 for 2 items, I was not satisfied with the food or service. My stir-fry lacked flavor and I actually had to add soy sauce to it since the vegetables tasted like barely steamed veggies-- not what I except from a thai stirfry. Save your money and eat somewhere else.
W head a party of six. Everything we tried was delicious. Lots of flavors and depths.
I would give this place a 0 star if I could. The guy who took a to
-go order was extremely rude and when I requested for few silverware he threw them at me instead of handing over. It happened twice and I couldn’t even beleaguered what I saw when he did that.
Amazing food, one of the best Thai places in Redmond
Sooo expensive!! Just bought one dish, small pad Thai, bill was almost $20. This has gotten out of control. No wonder restaurants are struggling. Thank Biden for putting us into the worst inflation in 40+ years and it's destroying our economy. The rich are richer, the poor are poorer. Eating out is only for the rich and vaxx'ed.
