Pretty decent food but nothing like some reviews claiming it to be the best Thai restaurant in Washington. I definitely agree that the food tastes great but it comes with lots of oil. I really loved the chowmein. One of the best tasting chowmein I ever had. But on the other hand fried rice was pretty average. All starters were tasty but oily. I really liked the panang curry though.

This is- by far- the best Asian restaurant on the island that I've experienced. Excellent atmosphere, decor, cleanliness and of course, the food! I love the staff here also, it is quite evident that they love their jobs which is so refreshing to find in restaurants these days.

I was a server at a pan-Asian cuisine restaurant on the south end which had the BEST fried rice I've ever had. Until I took a bite of Mai Thai's fried rice, I had forgotten how much better it is than the average fried rice in most Asian restaurants. I live about an hour away from the restaurant, but any time that I am in Oak Harbor I stop and try something new here.

Mai Thai Restaurant is a fantastic spot! After living in Washington for over three years, we can say their drunken noodles are the best we’ve had in the state. The flavors were spot on, with just the right level of spice and great texture in the noodles.

Atmosphere is nothing fancy. It's obvious this place is popular. Lots of people. Both dine in and take out. Had the garlic stir fry with shrimp ( about a dozen shrimp) kung poa with chicken and Thai fried rice with chicken. Everything was a #2 on the spice scale and it all had a kick. Took about 20 min to get food, so assuming they make everything fresh. Food was excellent. Good size platters. Total was $55. Full and going home with 3/4 of the rice. We'll be back

One of the best thai food that I had lately- wide rice noodles with chicken and veggies.

The food was good but the tofu was spongy/chewy. I didn't like them.

Pho was delicious, if you don't like spicy then I recommend mild spice to add a bit of flavor. The pad thai wasn't great, too much mediocre sauce. Otherwise, I recommend and I will go back and try other dishes + the pho.

I came in and I got pad Thai and I only got two pieces of shrimp in my pad Thai, this place is known for their portions. If I were you I wouldn't even bother.. servers were also passive-aggressive and impatient.. I'll take my service elsewhere.

This place was mid, wouldn't go back. We both got curries and found them to be bland with overcooked meat.

Me and a friend went to order food here and the manager told us to leave after my friends previous experience and leaving a honest and truthful review. Unprofessionally handled, you would think they would want to make up for our last experience there.

My family and I went here for Mother’s Day, and we decided that we will be going again and again. Food was excellent (we had the pho), and the service was so great. All of the people working were so helpful and had service in mind all the way. Rylee was our server and was so friendly and sweet! We left feeling happy. Highly recommend.

My wife and kids came here for lunch on 5/13/24. I had the Pho with beef and it was fantastic. However, the service is what will bring us back. Scarlett was courteous, friendly, and attentive extremely helpful. Will recommend and definitely eat here again.

Steam Pork Filled Dumplings served with Our Homemade Soy Sauce that is delicious. You can have them fried if you like.

Tom Yum Soup
Clear broth soup, galangal,lemon grass, onions, lime leaves, tomatoes, and mushrooms. Served with rice. Always one of my favorites.

Phad See Ew
Wide rice noodles served with broccoli, egg, and mushrooms, this was really good.

I've tried a couple of things from here but I usually only stick to the Singapore noodles spice lvl 5 very fantastic would recommend to anyone. A little on the expensive side and portions aren't consistent is the only down side to this place.

The food is delicious! I always order the drunken noodles, Thai fried rice, pho, and sticky rice for dessert. They are typically busy. I recommend ordering online. It takes 30-50 minutes to be ready for pick up.

Been hearing great reviews about Mai Thai so decided to check them out. I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai with spice level 3 and a side of white rice. Received a decent portion and when I added the rice into the pad Thai it nearly doubled the serving size without compromising flavor. Will definitely come back and try the rest of their menu.

Best Thai food on the island. They are on my speed dial. Sit down or take out. They have a nice sit down area with some nice decor. Not really what I would call a romantic setting but nice. My favorite dishes are the chicken Pad Thai, and the chicken pineapple curry #3 spicy which is just enough to make me sweat a tiny bit but not be overbearing.

Don't waste your time going here. Used to come here often with my kids and me and my husband really enjoyed our food. The last two times that I've ordered I found pieces of hair in my food which obviously wasn't mine. and over the last year the quality has sufficiently decreased. Servers used to be nice but now they seem stressed and intimidating...as I go through Mai Thais reviews, I noticed that the majority of them are bots to raise the reviews score. There's many other Thai options on the island my family doesn't regret exploring those options, and you and your loved ones won't as well.

BEST pho i have ever tasted everytime i go there i ask for pho because the flavor is so good even without spice or hoisin every place i have tried pho the broth was bland and tasteless but this restaurants is delicious and i also love that they ask u what spixe level you would like because in most restaurants they dont ask u and i love spice so i have to add a ton of siricha and it just overpowers the broth flavor in other places i have been to and it gives the broth a bright red unatural color that makes it almost un enjoyable but here they ask you what level of spice you would like and it makes it even better me and my neice and sister agree they serve the best pho here and even the beef slices make it better its much better and it stays hot for long also best crab rangoons ive tasted as well definently reccomend eating here i dont get all the hate comments i think its haters or karens who are just rude becuase everyone i have reccomended this place to loved it and always goes back for more and the staff is also great they are so helpful it makes the visit even MORE enjoyable so i rate this 10/10 WILL be going back for more and the atmosphere.is also great also makes the visit better as well

Took 40 minutes just to get our appetizer, wasn't even busy. Appetizer came out somewhat cold, while other tables waited about 15 minutes! Server had attitude when asked a simple question. Food came out cold, no steam coming off of it as if it was sitting around. Fried tofu was stale like it was prepped days before... super tough to chew through. Wanted to give this place one more chance but it's going downhill..

I got takeout from here, yellow and red curry both mild, and it had the most delicious flavor. ai couldn’t pick a favorite. They were both the best curries I’ve had so far. I will be back for sure.

I live on the Olympic Peninsula, and frequently travel to Bellingham. This is my stopping point for delicious fresh Thai food. The customer service is great, they make my dishes specifically to my request, delicious and delectable every time! I confess, I also have an emotional attachment to this building, which used to be a florist shop many many many years ago, where my beloved mother-in-law worked. To everyone who works there, keep up the excellent and delicious work!

Thai is not my favorite food type but it is good for a change. Most of the venues here in Whidbey are set up for take out only. Mai Thai, local chain, seems to do both well.

The ambiance is locals meaning nice, clean and basic. Comfortable atmosphere for dining with friends. The staff is the differentiator. They are amazing and the reason this will be my place for Thai.

The four of us ordered appetizers and 5 meals to share family style. All were great, according to friends, but I can’t really judge. I am more of a Chinese food guy and like the sauces better. I also make my own sources from various sauces available at those restaurants but are not available e at Thai places.

Final thought, I can’t get spicy food here in the PNW and Mai Thai is no exception. C I ordered a level 5 spice 😒
Barely a black pepper sensation. Oh well. It is a great place to eat and enjoy a meal with friends.

I am so sad to be writing this. This was a go to place for me and my husband at least once a week while we have been stationed here. Today that all changed. We ordered our usual, Thai Basil chicken, and while eating our food we came across the NAIL in our food with the hook on it!!! I'm so disgusted and can't even eat Mai Thai ever again. I can't believe this. I'm sick to my stomach and can't fathom how this happened. Mai Thai do better for many reasons. This is not okay and absolutely unsanitary and disgusting!!! So not okay and up to food standards. The sad part is the manager Scarlet confirmed it was a Nail from their shelf where the utensils are held. I can’t believe it. All they’re doing is refunding me and giving me a door dash credit haha. Wow. We will not be dinning here again. Ever.

Pad Thai is super sweet and wet (The basic Thai dish). 1 star. Service great, friendly, clean, quick with taking orders, and fast preparation. The place is clean and organized. I'm not sure to try or invest my lunch and dinner. I hope 🙏 they revise the sugar content and ingredients to be more healthy.

I went here for the first time ever on Tuesday the 8th of August 2023 around 2:30pm, in a group of 4. The staff was very friendly and helpful when ordering, making sure we got our order right. The prices on the food were surprisingly low when we compared to places we had been before here. When we got our food it was delicious, and the staff checked on us often to see if we needed something, and provided us extra plates, napkins, and straws so we could share our meals among us.

We absolutely loved the entire experience and will certainly return!

Only docking a star because there is no chicken satay, but every dish has been great. Been there twice. Had to leave a great review for service - even though they messed up my to go order (forgot two of my dishes) they fixed the situation by delivering out to Coupeville for me! They really felt bad. Mistakes happen and it was how they fixed it (going above and beyond) that truly impressed me!

Favorite on the islands and one of my favorites in my travels around the country. Staff is always friendly, food is great, and they are always very accommodating to small modifications ( if possible). Nearly everything I've had had been great (the lemongrass stir fry needs more lemongrass). They also have a few dishes I've not seen at other Thai restaurants : tamarind stir fry, dry curry

Food is quite delish. Service is up front self order at counter but they'll serve you the food to your table. The atmosphere is just okay pretty spartan looking but it is clean and neat. Bathroom is very clean not your typical Chinese dirty and smelly toilets.
