The food is really wonderful. I lived in Thailand for 2 years and think the taste is pretty legit, plus there were Thai people eating there as well! Lots of flavor and the spice is not watered down for Americans. Medium spicy is actually Thai style medium! 🙌🏼 portions are American size or family style size depending on where you are from in the world. My husband and I could share one entree. They have bubble tea and it also is legit. Servers were friendly. We loved this place so much we ate twice during our hotel stay across the street!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. The atmosphere is always pleasant and welcoming, the service is very nice and always ready to assist if you have questions about any of their dishes. If you have a huge group, I would call in advance!

My new favorite dish: Tom Yum Talay (Thai seafood soup). I take the broth home to add steamed seafood to it for later!

The food tasted fine but I ordered Thai spicy and it had ZERO heat. If you don't make spicy food tell your customers when they ask for spicy food!! I will not be returning.

Adequate parking lot

Have ordered delivery from Thai Cafe for years. Finally got a chance to visit in person and they did not disappoint. Their Som Tom Papaya Salad is the best in the area, and the special Ka Prow with fried egg on top is super.

Arrived 30 minutes before closing and they refused to let us eat there. The kitchen and they were still taking orders but they wouldn't seat us and really didn't care.

I rarely write negative reviews. I understand times are hard and everyone is struggling. I was in the area visiting friends. I decided to stop and grab some food. Some wings. Another appetizer and some bubble tea.
It was all HORRIBLE in its own right. Horrible and EXPENSIVE!!!!
Firstly, the wings that I ordered were it would seem made for children. They were perhaps the smallest wings that I have ever had. To compound on that. I was given only FIVE wings. Five tiny little horrible tasting wings. I literally threw them away. They were bland. I am talking no salt, pepper, sauce, or any other seasoning for that matter. Just literal wings with bland bland white rice fresh out of some rice cooker.
The bubble was the only thing that tasted decent. The problem was. They filled the to go cup with some much ice. I took 2 and a half. Perhaps 3 drinks from the straw and the drink was gone. Literally 2/3 of the cup was ice. I feel like a Karen writing this but it was this bad 👎🏽 The straw that they gave me for the bubble tea did not proportionally fit the bubbles in my tea. So any time I drank from my straw. The bubbles would get stuck in the straw. The first time this happend to me. When I took the straw out to see what happened. The tea spilled out from the straw all over the floor and my shoes. I only write this review because I was in the area again and passed by this place and reminded myself to write this review. All in all, I rate this place 3/10 stars. The only reason it is not 2 is because even though they cheat you out of a decent size of bubble tea. Atleast it tasted normal. Go to another asian restaurant. I genuinely don't know how it has the decent reviews it currently has...

Since moving closer to downtown this place has become my favorite sitdown spot for Thai food.

The food is delicious, from much-loved basics for americans like me like super spicy (on request, but you better mean it when you order super spicy) drunken noodles, to the more specialized streetfood style appetizers and limited time seasonal items.

Service is great, the staff is very kind and attentive, going beyond to make sure your dining experience is a wonderful time and that the food is to your liking. The atmosphere is very chill (I always stare up close at all the artwork) :3 and they make you feel like a welcomed family member there.

Prices are very reasonable as well, would highly recommend dropping by in person to sit and have a relaxing meal with work colleagues or afterwork friends.

The food was so good that I forgot to take pictures of everything they kept bringing. I had the opportunity to meet the original owner’s daughter and she did a phenomenal job at helping us pick out what to order. My table ordered family style and I’m so glad we did because it gave me the opportunity to try a lot. I am still thinking about my favorite dish - papaya salad made at medium heat. My goodness, I could eat that every day !! The server was so nice and attentive. They constantly checked up on us. Definitely will stop here again for lunch!

I’ve eaten from here a few times prior and food has tasted good. I don’t know what happened today but the drunken noodles were awful. It had no taste. I requested mild spice - which always tends to have some taste anyways. The beef just didn’t look right- it was pale and had some weird red coloring in certain spots. I ate it because I paid $15 and was hungry. I hope that it doesn’t make me ill. It looked less appealing and the portion was pretty small compared to before. It looked smaller than a lunch portion and this was dinner time. Won’t come back again.

Thai Cafe is a casual/wonderful Thai restaurant. Excellent service, cheerful staff, fantastic food. Love their smokey-flavored Grilled Squid (we think it is a healthier, tastier alternative to fried calamari), love their Chicken Kapow with just-right level of spice plus lots of herbs. Husband always orders their sweet Thai Coffee. Dipping sauces for appetizers are very good, so don't forget a first course. This is our favorite Thai restaurant. Highly recommend.

This is my second time ordering here and I couldn’t eat any of my $54 worth of food except for the crab Rangoon. The sun-dried pork was all fat.. the talay pad cha was sooo spicy it was not edible., and I eat very spicy food. The actual taste of the food was great!!

I think this is my favorite Thai restaurant in the area. I stumbled upon this place last year and have ordered a few times. My go to is the pad see ew with chicken and the thai dumplings. Everytime, the noodles are cooked perfectly. Everything is seasoned well. The restaurant is clean, nothing fancy, more than suitable for dining in. I'm only giving 4 stars because they mixed regular broccoli with chinese broccoli in my pad see ew

This is my favorite Thai place in the area. The food is always hot & delicious. The spring rolls are crispy & aren’t oil soaked. The waiters are friendly & the food always comes out quick. I recently tried the lychee boba tea & loved it! I’ve tried many items on the menu & can say I haven’t been disappointed so far. I recommend anyone coming here & will definitely be coming back

This is not a place you go to for a really nice atmosphere, because it's geared more towards takeout. There are places to sit but for this restaurant I don't believe that's the point. The food is phenomenal! I would highly recommend it for anyone that's looking for a good Thai experience! Add to top it all off, the staff couldn't be sweeter. Well done!

I had an amazing experience here this evening. I ordered on my way home from work over the phone and the lady, Dream, was so kind. When I went in the store to pay, she asked me if it was my first time ordering and I told her yes. She then proceeded to walk me through the menu of other things that I might like based on what I ordered. Once I got home, I was extremely satisfied with how good the food was. I will definitely be returning soon!

Great Thai flavors but altogether too much oil for fresh, healthy Thai meals. Fried rice is also very oily and has little flavor.
i’d love to see same flavor with a fresh less saturated veggie style.

We have been loyal Thai Cafe customers for years and the food has always been exceptional. Today the food was not good. The drunken noodles came with the noodles separate from the dish so never incorporated the flavors. The lard na was mostly liquid and didn’t come with rice. I hope today was an anomaly.

This is the worst Thai place I’ve ever been. I ordered spicy fried rice which was tasteless and uncooked. Some of the rice were cold and uncooked. Beef was white old looking weird looking which didn’t taste good at all.

I love Thai food and have eaten at probably a dozen Thai restaurants in NoVA. Thai cafe has by far the best pad Thai I’ve had in YEARS! Bright and flavorful, full of the complex and interesting flavors that make it such a popular dish. Bonus points for the super crispy and fresh bean sprouts. My husband had the Krapow fried rice and that was also delicious- just beware their 3 pepper spicy scale skews quite hot- he usually gets hot and 2 peppers was almost too much for him. This little tucked away place doesn’t have the most attractive entrance, but it was clean and comfortable and the staff was very attentive.

Their steamed dumplings are so good. Packed with lots of filling. There lunch specials are a great deal. Good service.

Excellent calamari! Fried and seasoned to perfection. The spring rolls were overfried, so I probably wouldn't order those again, but I would get the calamari again. The cashier was very nice.

The Assorted seafood Special was loaded and tasty; BUT beware! Super SPICY! Learned the hard way, but through the watering eyes and nostrils, I survived it with much water and wine that you can order it with ONE PEPPER, not all 3. I will go back and do so. 👍👍👍👍

This place never disappoint. The food is plentiful and flavorful! Never busy which is shocking but good for me as I never have to wait to be seated. My sister and I love Thai food. We were in the area and decided to give this place a try. The restaurant only had 2 sets of customers but we figured it was a slow Tuesday night. We ordered the spring rolls, Drunken Thai noodles and the Birds Nest. Every thing tasted, spoiled, freezer burnt, or stale. We literally took a bite of each item and could not digest the food. I was really hungry but I couldn't do that to myself. We spoke to the wait staff who were reasonable and apologetic as we were as well. When the manager came out and was very aggressive and accused us of wasting her food, and alleged that we do this often at other restaurants. Although she continuously spewed insults at us we left the server a 25% tip. It wasn't his fault that the food was utterly disgusting. This was at 7:00 pm. Needless to say we didn't feel like going anywhere else after that experience. We went home, had some tea and much needed rest.

Great place for authentic homemade and delicious Thai food with great selections to choose from. We've been going here for the past eight years and we have not been disappointed at all. Also, the service is always amazing and kind. Try their Wonton soup and Kanom Jeep.

I had the beef drunken noodles, and loved it. My wife had the massaman chicken and loved it. There are 4 levels of heat, 1-4 and we both got level 2. My wife would go level 3 or 4 next time, but I’ll stay at 2. The Siam Beef as an appetizer was terrific. Prices run about $14 for dinner and $10 for lunch. Check out this place, worth the visit. Post Script: Get the fried banana ice cream! Dreamy Good!!

I have been eating my lunches here for over 20 years and I must say that you will rarely find a better combination of value and quality in a Thai restaurant. There is a complimentary appetizer with your meal and the portions are very generous.

The staff is friendly and always remembers my favorite dish and are willing to accommodate specific changes to the dishes I have ordered.

This small restaurant was nearly filled when we arrived. Wine and beer are both available as well as tea, soft drinks and Thai coffee. The Musselman curry was tasty, the appetizers we selected chicken satay, curry puffs, were delicious. Enjoyed the mango sticky rice.

I love this Thai place and I dine there at least once every two weeks. I would usually rate it 5 stars, however, the last time I dined I’m for dinner, our sever, a young Asian American looking gentlemen circled ⭕️ The gratuity section at the bottom of the check as if we didn’t see it and don’t usually leave a generous tip. It was very uncalled for but other than that the food was 👍🏾 Great.

The flavor of the dishes were a bit different then I am accustomed to when eating Thai. Regardless, this difference created a new and unique flavor. The staff was outstanding as they replaced one of our dishes that we were not satisfied with. They also helped us celebrate a birthday by putting a candle on top of their appetizing mango sticky rice.
