I was in the neighborhood and decided to have a late lunch with my sister. This is a nice little restaurant that definitely gave the feeling of a “home” vibe.

I had the red curry with chicken and my sister had the Thai fried rice with chicken. Both were a decent size portion, might I say even shareable. Both dishes were flavorful.

My favorite item was the butterfly blue iced tea. Sweet, refreshing with a strong after taste of tree bark. Try it, I promise you will enjoy it as much as I did.

First time. The red curry with chicken was spicy enough for me but why is the rice small? A meal that price should have the large rice. That amount of rice only goes for half of the chicken red curry. Please give more rice. And how about offering chicken flavored rice?

Little expensive but very good

This is our new Thai Restaurant! We ordered the Shrimp pad Thai and The Drunken Noodles.. We asked for the food to be mildly spicy and that is precisely how our Oder was made. The women who took our order was super friendly and Recommended the Curry Puffs .. My Wife and I were eyeing the last one like hungry unfed lions.. 😂 My wife ended up having the last one. Highly Recommend this place.

Makin Thai is a new restaurant that just opened few weeks ago ,the food is excellent,chef Oh and his staff prepare the most authentic Thai food and homemade ice cream for all customers.staff are very friendly and professional,atmosphere is great to have friends and family for lunch and dinner.would recommend this place.

This place is fantastic!! My family and my partner and I have often gotten Tasty Thai on Myrtle for Thai food. MA KIN IS SO MUCH BETTER!! Curry puffs, couldn’t stop eating them. Rose Rangoon and shrimp rolls? Oh my god. The noodle dishes? Packed with flavor, the noodles aren’t overly chewy or gummy, just perfect. Best Thai Iced Tea I’ve had (and I’ve had a lot of Thai iced tea), and their Butterfly Tea was also amazing! Their desserts?! I’m not a fan of coconut or even pudding, but their coconut puddings were tasty treats I’ll definitely get again, their cheesecake tasted like real cheesecake, and I am a die-hard fan for lava cake. They NAILED that. If you’re looking for the best Thai food in all of Queens, this is it!

Ma Kin has been under new management for two months and there food is excellent. Their Pad Kee Mao is great and I also love the appetizer rose rangoon. The service is really good and the workers are very friendly. If you want to find a good Thai spot then Ma Kin is definitely it. I recommend it.

I used to order from this place for a dew years but since this place change the ownership its more expensive and the food portions are ridiculous I called the lady to complain about it but she wasn't respectful and she just hung up the phone. 👎

The most delicious Thai cuisine, in my opinion. We've only ordered delivery service so I can't speak on the atmosphere. Delivery is always prompt and the food arrives hot. Two times they were out of a drink I ordered and I received a phone call to either choose a replacement or get a refund. That is great customer service. We have tried many of the dishes and loved them all. Massaman curry is our favorite go-to meal but everything is delicious and fresh.

I had an amazing dining experience. I ordered the Chicken Dumplings, Thai Iced Tea, and fried chicken . The food was exceptionally delicious!

It makes me sad to say the quality of this restaurant has gone down. I’ve been coming here for years and have not had any big issues till now. I have to assume it’s because of change in managements. Today I discovered a bug in my food once I was almost done eating, as gross as it sounds. The staff was very accommodating and understanding though. Very disappointing and I hope they start making improvements.

My friend and I just went on for a quick lunch. They serve food very quickly. Food is authentic Thai dishes. I like the green curry more than the Tom Yum Soup (a bit too sweet to me).

The restaurant is small but cozy. Three little tables for max no more than 15 customers. This is my second time going in the mid-day. I don't see crowds in the restaurant. The waitress is nice.

I order a Pad see ew and I got an over cooked chicken, over cooked flat rice noodle. It was not what I was expecting.

I ordered sesame chicken and I paid over $14 for a very small amount. There is not enough sauce and more broccoli from water than chicken. And a lot of rice. Newer going to order again.

This place is darling. It is cozy and comfortable. The food was incredible! The service was superb. The young man taking care of our table was the gentlest kindest soul! We got the massaman potato bread, fried tofu, eggplant tofu, mixed seafood entree, Thai iced tea, mango juice, lychee juice, and Mango Sticky Rice! Wow. All the flavors were wonderful! So delicious :) The mango sticky rice was EXCEPTIONAL and so fresh!!! All of the sauces were so falvofyl and amazing too. Everything was cooked really well and plating is thoughtful + artistic 🎨 Mmm. Just mmm :)

I called in an order and when I went to pick up I asked the front desk lady if I can sit and eat my food. Then the lady proceeded to ask me if I have cash to Tip her even though I already left tip when I ordered online. I just left and went I work and ate my food there. Food is decent staff is inconsiderate. You don’t ask someone to tip you before they even sit or try the food. If she wouldn’t have asked me if I had cash after I ate I would have left some money for her.

Ma Kin translates means “Come Eat” and I would never go eat if they continued to serve me old noodles for “Rad Nah”. Growing up eating Rad Nah in the west coast I was applaud that in NYC the do not offer Crushed Peanuts, Dry Peppers or Jalapeños with my “”traditional Thai dish “ idk who is on that kitchen but I’ve worked many Thai kitchens in nyc and by far this is one of the top WORST . Literally saddened by the lack of flavor . I hope some one had a bad day but the sauce itself is lacking flavor . Throw this batch of mixture away. The noodles are not soft
At all . After re hearing the sauce and sauté it still is soft . Looks someone messed up an prior order and used this for my order. WASNT GIVEN UTENTILS I guess I’m supposed to with my hands? This was the worst 🙁 There was zero flavor. The chicken was just boiled. There was no curry flavor. There was no coconut flavor. It was bland. Bland. Flavorless. Void of taste. The curry was like water.
It was like the chef never made Thai food before. All the key ingredients were missing. The delivery made me sad. It was an absolute WASTE of time and money. I really tried to like it. I don’t normally leave bad reviews but this was just so epically disappointing. I mean, I would never offer this food to anyone. I threw out most of it. It was just the worst “Thai” food I’ve ever had. Figured I’d spare you the mistake I made.

I love Thai coffee and try to get it as often as I can, I decided to give this place a try and there was an insect in there. Please be clean when preparing the food/drinks. This is not okay and cleanliness should always come first when preparing the products!

Order one red curry and one green curry, to be honest, I can say that I’ve had much better Thai curry from other restaurants. Their curry was more like water, neither had thickness nor flavor :) also so much oil in curry. This was my personal opinion, however my girl thought it was really yummy!

Came here just to try something new. If you are to come here order your normal popular thai dishes. We ordered pad kee mao with crispy pork, was pretty good and tasty. The Thai basil eggplant didn't really have much eggplant mostly onions, sting beans and pork. The soft shell crab did not taste fresh and was super sweet and came with mostly vegetables.

So, myself and my daughter Sophia came to eat here at MaKin not too long ago(weekday night) and thought id share my experience. The food was very small portions, she got the Shrimp Pad Thai it has like max two shrimps, and I got Peanut Sauce Rama with vegetables no meat. Girl at front desk, was not very attentive was on her phone until we ask her for more water and utensils and water. I would return in the future but, customer service needs to improve and little more portion and highly suggest you get a kids menu! Xo, Vivan and Sophia.

We must agree with what everyone else is saying, Ma Kin serves up delicious curries, eggplant, fried rice and very interesting and creative appetizers including one shrimp, pork and mushroom dumpling which the chef offered us a sample of. Thank you! They were delicious and looked as good as they tasted. Next time we are in the area we'd love to sit and explore more of the great looking menu, and confidently venture from curry and fried rice with the guidance of the friendly and skilled staff at Ma Kin.

I ordered from here three times and each time I wasn't disappointed well, the 3rd time I was a little disappointed because they were being cheap with the mangos 🥭 for the mango sticky rice which is delicious. Came here for the first time 2 weeks ago with my cousin. Ma Kin Thai is the best thai place in the area! I ordered cashew nut with pork, while my cousin ordered red curry with crispy duck (it wasnt really spicy). Both meals were really good! Ma Kin Thai also has butterfly pea tea (which we also tried and it was delicious)! The portions for the price are amazing!

Fast forward to now, I ordered delivery through Uber Eats 2 days ago. I got red curry with duck because it looked really good when my cousin ordered it! Then my dad got Thai fried rice with beef. We also got Thai iced tea to drink. I wish Ma Kin Thai had butterfly pea tea on delivery apps! When I had dine in the restaurant was also very clean and had hand sanitizers on every table!

Did a pickup order here and man was it delicious. Curry puffs, spicy basil beef, pad Thai - all excellent. Authentic flavors and so fresh - with high end ingredients. Not to be missed.

I ordered takeout from this place and I’ll never order from here again. My Pad See Ew was FULL of eggshells. It was disgusting. I pulled out more than 10 pieces of broken eggshells. Completely unacceptable. See the picture below for only some of the eggshell pieces I pulled out, there were plenty more. Gross.

I was visiting NYC with a couple of friends from Singapore and we were craving for some Thai food. What made Ma Kin so extraordinary is the attention that they pay to the dishes they prepare. Every dish is so yummy and truly authentic. All the dishes are excellent and my personal fav would be the Nam Tok Soup with Pork. The Pad Thai is amazing as well. Great service, good food. I don't normally leave reviews after trying something for the first time but this was really good. Ordered the chicken pad Thai and Thai tea (basic, I know) and was initially disappointed when I saw I had ordered rice instead of noodles. But once I tried it, I couldn't stop eating. It was so good, I'd 100% recommend it. Only thing to keep in mind is that they are a bit over priced and do not use as much peanut sauce as other places. But the taste and freshness of the food makes it completely worth it in my opinion.

Surprisingly good Thai for the area. Enjoyed the roti with massaman curry which isn’t found at many Thai places. They also have a blue tea which tastes like Chrysanthemum tea. Refreshing and delicious on a summer night.

Ordered the Mixed Seafood Drunken Noodles after seeing someone highly recommended it, and it still exceeded my expectations. It was excellent.

It’s hard to find a place that cooks seafood well. Every type of seafood in the dish was cooked perfectly! I say this as someone who grew up fishing & crabbing. The scallops in particular were incredible.

For dessert we tried the fried ice cream & coconut pudding, both were great. The coco pudding was actually hot/cooked- a total surprise for me, but damn, it was good! Teas and juices were also great, as were the staff.

I had mix seafood Thai fried rice. The Seafood was a little too under cooked and i wasn't going to risk getting sick. Also they were sold out of their salmon which was my first choice. The only plus side about this place was the waitress. she was really nice so i gave her a good tip.

I’ve gotten their noodle soups, pad see ew, and other savory dishes and desserts and I’ve never been disappointed! Their lunch specials are a steal and they give you a decent amount for the price! They have vegetarian options as well! Definitely worth a try!

Some of the BEST food in NYC the service was fantastic they were super nice and the outdoor dining was absolutely great! The portions are terrific, it’s absolutely worth the trip!

ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!!!! The spicy basil with chicken was 👏🏾GOBSMACKING👏🏾. The service is 100% and they’re super friendly and efficient. The price is also a plus especially for the big sized portions you receive. Can’t wait till there’s a Brooklyn store so I don’t have to go all the way to Queens to spend all my money.🤩

They have indoor and outdoor dining! We got the prik khing and the pad kee Mao, as well as a large Thai iced tea and a taro pudding and it was all super good. The waitresses are very nice and I'm definitely coming back one day! 😋

This is LITERALLY the best Thai place ever!!! The prices are reasonable, quick wait time, and the server was very kind and knowledgeable about the food. The large Thai iced tea was so big and we had to get two!!!

A true mom and pop Thai restaurant with an impressive authentic menu for Northern Thai food! Food is delicious you'll want to order the whole menu. Small and intimate dinning experience made it all the more a VIP experience.

I'm not sure if obsessed is the right word but it's what comes to mind with Ma Kin Thai. Their food is delicious. My go to is drunken noodles.. Try it. Their spring rolls and curry puffs are also addicting. Amazing customer service and well worth every penny. And, now I'm hungry..❤

I have an update: the Khao soi noodle soup is one of the best dishes I’ve had ever. Ingredients are extremely fresh and the flavor is out of this world!

Ordered for delivery today. Fried rice was too much dry and can hardly find any chicken or shrimp inside. Asked to provide hot sauce but none given. Charged $5 for delivery and deliveryman was still looking for more tips.

Food is amazing. Portions are so generous. A true gem and welcome addition to Middle Village. Food is so fresh.

Best Thai food around! Some restaurants have lost their touch during the pandemic but Ma Kin only gets better! From service, quality, and taste, this establishment is a gem to Metropolitan!

Hands down the best Thai food in town! They use the freshest ingredients and the taste is amazingly authentic. I can’t wait to try every single item on their menu. It’s my new go-to place for excellent homemade tasting Thai food!!

When I ordered this through seamless, the site did not give me any warnings that it was too far away and even Yelp said from my location it was 1.7 miles away... When our delivery guy showed up he was a bit miffed that he had to ride his manual bicycle for almost 3 miles to deliver. First off dude, you're delivering in Queens, who doesn't have a scooter or car these days to deliver?!

Regardless, our food came hot and well packaged. I appreciated that the store owner called and let us know that one of the items we had placed an order for was not available because they sold out for the day, yay, so he suggested a few items that we could switch it out for. I totally appreciate it the customer service!

Because of the COVID-19 quarantine, delivery was our only option :/ still the portions were huge and the price comparable to what I received. Curry puffs, chicken pad Thai, beef red curry, beef pad see ew, and the cheese and crab wontons all hit the right spot for this hungry crew. We will visit you in person soon!

Updated 10/22/20: I've been ordering thai food from here and exploring different menu items. One thing for sure is that the lunch special is not worth it. For around $10, you get 2/3s the portion, one egg roll, soda or salad. The roti was extremely oily. Lesson learned.

Great Authentic Thai food finally comes to Middle Village.
Spoiler alert: even tho the taste is good, the portion is quite small.
I ordered Crispy Pork Spicy Basil with extra meat ordered.
It turned out to be the same exact portion without the extra meat added for $5,-

The best Thai food in the neighborhood. Yes they have the standards (pad thai, pad see ew are all good bets), but you can also find authentic dishes from the northern regions of Thailand for a really unique experience. The crispy duck was next level, the papaya salad was delish. The restaurant itself is small, but the outdoor seating they built makes for a great date night experience. You can really tell how passionate the owners are; from the love they put into the food, to the attentive service and customer engagement - they have a real love for the community. I can't recommend this place enough.

Finally, authentic Thailand's cuisine in the middle of middle village. Absolutely great food! highly recommended

I usually don’t leave comment but I had too . I was working and I passed by this place saw the menu and order green curry chicken for my wife and I ordered Talapia fish lunch special . No words to describe how amazing that was . The spice and the sauce was just extraordinary amazing . Me and wife really enjoyed our food and I would definitely will recommend everyone to try from it . We usually eat out everyday in the afternoon . But this was special . Thank you so much .

Great food!

I’ve given the place about 3 chances and they truly disappointed me. Today I ordered 2 pad Thai and both were very wet/soupy and not tasty....must be a different chef on a Sunday. The first pad Thai I ordered on a weekday was very good. Last time I ordered the calamari and they were in Italian breading, not crispy and tasteless. The pad Kee maw noodles were super mushy and was not good. Thai fried rice was also under seasoned, really missed the mark. No more for me. Very pricey and appetizer portions are on the very small side.

Just got some curry puffs from here and they were good but very small and you only get 3 for $7....I was expecting at least 4 for that price especially given that their puffs are mostly potato. So definitely Manhattan prices (actually I've gotten 5 for $6 in Chelsea so idk why their prices are so high.) Good for 2 people but not larger groups, its a small place and kind of pricey for the portions.

Excellent hidden gem in Middle Village.
The food is flavorful and fresh. We had crispy cream cheese,crab meat fried rice,spicy century eggs with crispy basil and Ma kin Kanoom Jeen Nam Ngiaw.It is pretty nice,cozy and clean place.The service is great. Definitely will be going back!

I am very picky when it comes to Thai Food... and I’m not one to usually leave reviews but this place does it right! Very authentic taste, friendly service, great addition to the neighborhood. To those who know the best spots in NYC for Thai food, add this one to your list. Ma Kin is on the same level as my other favorite Thai spots in Elmhurst and Manhattan.

Absolutely fantastic. I'm a foodie. It's not just authentic. It's fresh, focused and careful. Oak is the Chef. Worth traveling to Middle Village. Who would have thought? I was working for a client. Had lunch at their soft opening last week. I've been back 3 times. It's exciting. Food with love.

OMG!!, why have i not left a review for this place before now? My husband and i just had the most amazing meal here. We shared the Calamari, Crab Rangoon, Nam Ngeaw, Stir fried Preserved eggs with crispy basil. The flavor was absolutely delicious. The Calamari was cooked just right and the Nam Ngeaw was the most perfect compliment to it. The crispy basil was not too spicy and so god damn good it should be illegel!!!

The best food this place

I have been here about 4-5 times since opening and let me tell you: the food NEVER DISSAPOINTS!!!! I’ve tried different things every single time I’ve been here and everything is so delicious and fresh! The staff is sweet and friendly! If this place closes, I dont know what I would do. I could eat this food every day! Highly recommend!
