$17 for drunken noodles that's half filled just does not seem fair.

Diner Review №2

After sampling Thai cuisine in multiple cities, Charisa Thai easily ranks in my top 3. It’s authentic and super delicious.

Diner Review №3

We ordered take out and the food was pretty disappointing- chicken drunken noodles barely had any onions, peppers, basil/other veggies and was also sweet?? Wasn’t spicy like we ordered and the Chicken Madness wasn’t spicy at all either. The green beans were almost raw. The only thing I did like was the Tom Yum soup, which was flavorful, though it was very spicy. Overall, the spice level was pretty inconsistent though we ordered all Thai Hot and the food was just not worth it IMO

Diner Review №4

Food is great. I got takeout a bunch of times and they always get the order right and are attentive to vegan and gluten-free needs. But the service for dine-in is absolutely terrible. It's no wonder the place is always empty.

I came here during normal dinner hours and the place smelled like bleach and nobody came out to seat us or ask if we wanted to order takeout, so we left after standing there for a few minutes.

Then I came here today for lunch and it also took several minutes before they noticed us and finally told us to take seat. Then the last disappears behind the kitchen doors again and comes out several minutes later to give us menus. We waited forever and she didn't come back out so one of us went to get her. She comes out but instead of taking our order, she lets in another employee from the front door and returns to the kitchen. The employee who just came in our her stuff down and then finally took our order. The food came out relatively quickly but she got my order wrong (I asked for no cabbage but it had cabbage).

I unfortunately cannot recommend dining in. Takeout only.

12/07/2024 Update: The below review is no longer the case. I called in to try and order some extra spicy food and was told that five chilies is as high as they go. The food this time was just normal Thai food that I have had dozens of times from different places. It's still good but nothing special. The 2/5 is due to my overwhelming disappointment with the lower quality of service.

If you are just looking for a rating, 10/10 will order again. Below is my interaction with the restaurant.

I have a problem, and that is that most thai places won't make the food hot enough. I called and they said they could make it as hot as I wanted. I told them they couldn't make it too hot. When I picked up the food they said they went with 10 peppers hot (3 is normal hot for the dishes I ordered). I can report that I was not disappointed. This is the first food in years to make me sweat while eating it. I got the Chicken Madness and Thai Basil Fried Rice and in addition to being spicy they were both delicious!

For a normal order I suspect that I go with their chef hot, but I know now that there is a place that can satisfy my spicy food craving.

I will definitely be back again!

Diner Review №6

My favorite Thai restaurant. I love the Thai Boat Noodle Soup.

Diner Review №7

Diner Review №8

My favorite Thai in Ashburn. Our family comes here a lot ! Amazing food. Delicious and great portions. We love coming here to dine in or for takeout.

Highly recommend papaya salad, massaman curry, fried rice!

Diner Review №9

Awful tasting thai food. The spices they use are not authentic and the food tastes not fresh. Seriously disappointing.

Diner Review №10

We ordered Pad Thai Shrimp and Red Curry.
Pad Thai was way too sweet and charged 4.00 for 5 overcooked shrimp. The curry was tasty but super 🔥.
I have never eaten here before but doubt seriously if I will return.

Diner Review №11

Diner Review №12

Have gotten takeout twice. Best Thai food we have had in a long time. Appetizers are great, entrees are fresh and delicious. Reasonable prices. We will be back!

Diner Review №13

Was looking for a nice late-night Sunday dinner and this small Thai restaurant did the trick! Very quiet and comfortable restaurant with delicious Thai food and great service. On top of our needs and recommended a better dish for my picky 8 year old that was turning her nose up at everything I was recommending. Very nice meal and experience.

Diner Review №14

Delicious and fresh. Jumbo shrimp was fresh! I loved the spicy garlic shrimp. Service was great. Will definitely coming back!

Diner Review №15

Best Thai restaurant in the area, I love their food. Definitely come back

Diner Review №16

Food is always freshly made. I live around the area I always drive and order my food from this place. Drinks are awesome Thai tea & Thai coffee. Overall their food is good.

Diner Review №17

Diner Review №18

Nothing amazing, nothing horrible. We got the crispy basil duck, Thai garden, and spicy beef salad. Everything was just okay. One real complaint is that nothing seemed to have enough veggies, they didn't seem fresh. Maybe was expecting more based on the high reviews.

Diner Review №19

Slow service. Spice tray I was given was empty and when I asked for a replacement, it was also partially empty. There was slime on the spoon for the peppers in spice tray. Green curry was average at best.

Diner Review №20

The food and staff here were AMAZING. Absolutely blown away by the quality of the dishes. We had the crispy chicken, calamari, papaya salad with salted crab and the boat noodle soup. Worth the hour drive to this restaurant!!

Diner Review №21

I used to go to Thailand every year, and been missing the real authentic Thai food. This place is the best Thai restaurant in Loudoun county. Or NoVa. I haven’t explored fairfax yet. Lol Try their street food! It really reminds me of Thailand street cart food.

Diner Review №22

Food is flavor full and tasty. I wish tofu added in the food was done differently. That is why I am giving 4 for food. We went on a Friday evening on the last day of school. Not many people were there. Decent ambiance.

Diner Review №23

Diner Review №24

Moved to this area from a different part of the county and wished for a little taste of home. I've tried the panang curry from a lot of Thai restaurants in the area and to me, Charisa Thai does it the best. Great value for some delicious, authentic panang curry that tastes exactly like what I had growing up.

The chef hot panang curry is so spicy, the perfect texture, and very rich in flavor. I love having it with tofu. I also love the golden triangles, spring rolls, satay chicken, and the chicken fried rice is delicious! I wouldn't go anywhere else in the area for Thai food.

My wife had lunch right when it first opened and it was ok. Tonight we thought we would give dinner a try and it was fantastic.

Diner Review №28

Excellent food, love Thai iced tea

Diner Review №29

Food is really good we had beers with food. But beers are more pricey. Rest all good I would recommend to anyone

Diner Review №30

We stumbled upon this place while traveling for work. Food was unbelievably delicious and the service was top notch. This place is not to be missed.

Diner Review №31

Good food. A little expensive for lunch

Diner Review №32

Food was meh :( ...but the lady who waited tables had a great memory power with remembering the order as we visited with a big group of friends. The pad thai had so much fish sauce in it...drunken noodles was salty and the Thai basil fried rice did not even have the flavor of Basil :( was disappointed with th food .

Diner Review №33

Diner Review №34

Authentic Thai dishes, some of the best in the area. I had the crispy basil duck.

Diner Review №35

Thai cuisine is so vibrant and flavorful. One fantastic, Charisa Thai restaurant to try for ginger chicken might be. Their ginger chicken dish usually features tender chicken cooked with fresh ginger, garlic, and a mix of aromatic spices, creating a delightful balance of savory and aromatic flavors. The ginger adds a unique zing that complements the dish beautifully, creating a memorable culinary experience.

Diner Review №36

Crying tiger, doo dee soup, and drunken noodles were delicious!

Diner Review №37

Diner Review №38

Food was amazing. Great flavors, fresh.
We loved everything we ordered.
Tom Yum, Tom Kha, drunken noodles, pineapple fried rice and Basil fried rice were very tasty. Will come back.

Diner Review №39

Consistently good. One of the best Thai places I have been!

Diner Review №40

I was disappointed. Went due to the high reviews. Food was average to below average. My food was room temperature at best (I like my food steaming hot), onions in the stir fry were too rough and inedible. Rice was dry.
Prices aren’t cheap but reasonable given the overall food price hikes.
I wouldn’t go back.

Diner Review №41

Very nice place
Great food
The soups are amazing.

Drunken noodles — very nice and d perfect spice for our level
Veg fried rice - great
Pad Thai was good
Soups are one of best

Diner Review №42

The food here was wonderful, and my group enjoyed the atmosphere and service as well. We ordered crab rangoons, Thai fried rice, drunken noodles, and red curry which all came quickly and turned out so delicious, I’m glad we ate here! Would come again for sure. 🤤

Diner Review №43

The red curry and drunken noodles were so good!

Diner Review №44

This restaurant is very consistent and our go-to for weekly Asian food take-out. The pork fried rice (mild or medium) is amazing! We’ve also had their soups and drunken noodles and they taste great. Definitely try it out!

Diner Review №45

Wow, do NOT miss the crispy basil chicken, it's incredible. You can taste the high quality of the meats and veggies they use, everything is fresh, fragrant and well prepared. The tofu soup will be a new go to all winter long, such great flavor!

Such nice people and great service, I really hope to see more customers dine in, lots of take out so that's wonderful to see!

Diner Review №46

Alright, in hindsight....I should have taken pictures. The food was FANTASTIC! So glad I gave this restaurant a shot.
Looking forward to going back. I had the "fried Flounder." Perfection.

Diner Review №47

The food was not good y'all. It was tolerable.
Green curry was watery as hell. Color wasn't pretty either.
Thai tea was pretty yummy. Service was horrible due to just one person attending guests.

It's been open 6 months now and I feel like they should definitely have better food AND service.

Sadly- I would not go back.

Diner Review №48

We ordered delivery this evening and there was an issue with the 3rd party delivery company. After calling Charisa Thai, the were very accommodating and remade our food for pickup. Really great service and
,as always, the food was amazing.

Diner Review №49

Diner Review №50

Great food. Great prices. Not crowded and I can’t understand why. The Tom Yum and Tom Kha soups are fantastic. We have had most of their appetizers - great. The papaya salad can be ordered with blue crab. Standard dishes with meat options. Spice level goes from 1 to 5 (year your gut out hot). Great entrees. Haven’t tried noodles yet - still working through main entrees. Forgot to take pictures. Have empty plates at this point. Best Thai in Broadlands and Ashburn area.

Diner Review №51

Pad thai was one of the best i've had. Ka Pow was also good! We come here for lunch regularly!

Diner Review №52

Diner Review №53

Hidden gem in Ashburn. Everything was fresh, light and bursting with flavor. Will definitely return!

Diner Review №55

Diner Review №56

Really great food, we had the green curry, spicy eggplant, fried calamari and mango with sticky rice. Really tasty, we practically licked our plates. Friendly customer service. Nice atmosphere. We’ll be back!

Diner Review №57

Diner Review №58

Great place! Great service and our food came out quick. under $30 for 2 people

Diner Review №59

Best Pad Woon Sen we have had! We are now regulars. Staff very sweet.

Diner Review №60

Diner Review №61

the lady was super nice and the food was great too.
also, a few quotes from my friends that came with:
"this is probably the spiciest thing I've had" - a spice maniac
"this is really good" - that friend that just can't handle spice at all
"eating that pepper was a mistake" - me (in tears)

Diner Review №62

Quiet quaint place for a nice dinner, great food and great service. Overall great experience!

Diner Review №63

amazing food and service, but not a lot of people
they're missing out

Diner Review №64

Easy pass. Thought this place would be better than the last owner but quality of food low compared to other Thai spots in area. Decor is gloomy and the lady who greeted me didn’t seem too welcoming. Spring roll and sauce was flavorless. I had the pad Thai and ka prow dish. The ka prow was not good along with the dry rice. Pad Thai had flavor but noodles were drenched and a bit hard to eat. Quality of ingredients subpar. Another fail for the broadlands area

Diner Review №65

Great food. Really love the coconut ice cream. Definitely will come back and order again.

Diner Review №66

Extremely delicious dishes. Looking forward to returning to Charisa Thai Cuisine!

Diner Review №67

Great food. Good quantity.

Diner Review №68

This is a great Thai restaurant in Loudoun County to try! Food is fresh and the spices taste great. Cordial service, pleasant atmosphere. The dish I tried was my best in months. Thank you!

Diner Review №70

It's pretty damn good! I tried the crispy basil chicken and crab rangoons and loved it!

Diner Review №71

Best Thai in Ashburn! Some of the best drunken noodles & pad thai I've ever had

Diner Review №72

Best Thai food in the area. Great selection, and I have yet to find a bad dish. You can choose your spice level and they do not disappoint. Totally recommend.

Diner Review №73

Diner Review №74

Great food, good price. I'm a little far from this place, but I will definitely be going back when I am craving Thai food!

Diner Review №75

Great food, good service. Definitely be back soon.

Diner Review №76

Love the food, atmosphere and people. Very attentive and nice and the food is delicious.

Diner Review №78

Tried their Koi Soy & it was perfection!

Diner Review №79

Excellent food and wonderful cheerful service. The curry, papaya salad and drunken noodles were all delicious, fresh and portions were very generous. Excellent food, will be returning soon to try more delicious food!

Diner Review №80

Thai goes to the runner. I’m the runner

Diner Review №81

Great place! Great food! Warm people!

I loved the mango and sticky rice desert. The spicy eggplant was good. The green curry was amazing.

Diner Review №82

Delicious with a nice kick when you want it

Diner Review №83

Diner Review №84

Great taste and portions

Diner Review №85

Delicious food! Dumpling appetizer was fantastically flavorful, noodle salad with minced chicken was fresh and delicious.
My husband also loved his Garlic Lover pork. Definitely coming back😊

Diner Review №86

Authentic Thai food
Excellent quality with good portions
Reasonable prices

Diner Review №87

Placed a large order for a work lunch. Delivery was quick, food was delicious. We will definitely order again!

Diner Review №88

I would not recommend the pad Thai. Its flavors are bland with too much noodles and very meager protein. With the seafood pad Thai, there were very few portions of seafood but basically 4 servings of noodles. The Tom yum soup was also diluted.

Diner Review №89

Excellent duck noodle soup.
Very friendly staff.

Diner Review №90

We ate at Charisa Thai for the first time last night and had an incredible meal. We shared pad Thai, drunken noodles and this jasmine fried rice with basil and beef. So good. Large portions, outstanding flavor, and the staff was kind and attentive. We’re huge fans!!

Diner Review №91

Fantastic flavor and portions...A new favorite for our family!! Drunken Noodles were off-the-hook delicious!

Diner Review №92

Good taste, definitely it’s my favorite Thai place.

Diner Review №93

Great taste, very good portions. Super friendly staff.

Diner Review №94

Stopped in today to try the new restaurant and was very happy I did. My food, Panang curry, was absolutely delicious. The service was quick and friendly and the price was also very reasonable.

Diner Review №95

Tried the fried rice and drunken noodles .
They are very tasty.

Diner Review №96

Overall the curry was extremely good and was warm. It gave me a warm tummy feel that helped remember my childhood. The peppers of sweet and spicy variety were all working together in harmony. The blend of flavor was extremely lovely.

They restaurant as a whole was amazing. The staff were friendly and the lady that served me was very similar to my grandma.

Diner Review №97

Padraig was very good

Diner Review №98

We had beef kra pow and crispy fish. The food was excellent.
