Strip-mall eatery with Thai specialties, intricate Siamese art on the walls & outdoor seating.
The fresh spring rolls with shrimp from here are great!!! The cilantro is a wonderful flavor addition. A couple of weeks ago, I ate chicken fresh spring rolls with chicken from a *different* Thai place and they were nothing compared to these (only had lettuce, chicken and carrots). The only thing I would add to the spring rolls with shrimp is more shrimp!!!
The curry puffs are good but fried a little too long for my liking. My husband's spicy chicken fried rice with shrimp was great but again, need more shrimp (there were only 3, so you may want to ask for extra if you order this add-on). His food container was filled to the top like it should be (and is what we're used to receiving), but mine wasn't, so I was a little disappointed about that.
Last but not least, my garlic chicken was good, but didn't have as much garlic flavor as what I'm used to from similar restaurants. The vegetables were definitely fresh tasting and not overcooked, so I was pleased.
The restaurant is in a small shopping strip; not a lot of parking out front but perhaps there's more parking in the back. Also, they have a nice patio area for those who want to eat outside.
Stopped for lunch. Had soup and pad thai. The dishes were good. Not busy.
Thai Noy is my favorite Thai restaurant in the DMV. The dishes I've tried are flavorful and spicy. I often have the green curry, which is excellent! For call-in or website take-out orders, I've found the service fast -- often only a 15-minute wait time. When dining in the service is great.
The lunchtime prices are very good as well.
Rude treatment of customer by the manager. I will never return!
I have dined at our local Westover neighbirhood, Thai Noy for many years. I have enjoyed a fish dish served over Bok Choy and vegetables. Last nigh I found the salmon to be of poor quality. When I asked to send it back, the manager insisted that I pay for it. Usually a restaurant woukd replace the dish.
I ate just the vegetables. When I asked for extra rice, she insisted on charging me for that, as well, instead of doing anything to try to make up for the fact that I could not eat the terrible salmon.
There was no attempt to try to accommodate me in any way.
They should not have charged me for the salmon. They should have replaced the dish for free. Yet, all I asked for was to have the rice removed from the bill. She would not. She argued with me.
So, for the price of a tiny bowl of rice, they have lost me, my family and my friends as a long term customers. Poor business decision.

We love coming here! The dishes are all fresh, great service, and prices are reasonable.
Discovered this Thai restaurant after a year of living here, because it’s buried in a quaint little neighborhood area. I’m so glad I stopped to check it out, because it is amazing, and the food is great. The family has been running the restaurant for 25 years, and the recipes reflect it. Very worth it.

Have been eating here for years. Mekong Chicken and fresh spring rolls are my favorites.

The best Thai restaurant in DC! I’ve been going here for over 10 years and nothing beats it!
La meilleure cuisine thaïlandaise en dehors de la Thaïlande ! Les plats sont riches en saveurs, et la carte offre une grande diversité. Le Pad thaï était incroyable. Un coup de cœur absolu !
The drunken noodle is spicy and delicious.

friendly home cooking! highly recommend trying this restaurant!
Their Laotian Mekong Chicken is loved by all. Similar to Panang Chicken but sweet and less spicy.
Delicious food reminds me of my time in Bangkok. Excellent, friendly service and an *unrushed* meal.

Seems my review was recently removed to keep the ratings up… There were a few duck dishes I was considering and I asked the owner if she thought any of them were crispy. She indicated the Duck Kapao was the crispiest, so I ordered it. Sadly, it was gooey, and so fatty I couldn’t eat it. I asked the owner if she could exchange that dish for something else and she said no problem. Then when she brought me my bill, she charged me full price for both dishes which I thought might have been a billing error. So I politely asked if she could adjust the bill and she indicated that the ‘kitchen could not pay for the meal, and neither could she.’ I found her response quite shocking. I won’t be back due to the lack of the quality of Thai Noy’s food, BUT also left this review due to the lack of customer service I encountered. Most thai restaurants in the area offer better food and service.

My go to for takeout.
Very high quality Thai food in the Westover/Dominion Hills area of Arlington. It's our go to Thai place and we have eaten Thai all over the world. Always great food which is well prepared.
vegetarian pad thai - to die for!
I have had oh so many Thai dishes over the years… I ordered the pepper steak from Thai Noy tonight after eating hospital food for the last 2 days. I have never been so disappointed - to the point of disgust - as I am with Thai Noy at this moment.
My wife and I were so excited to have real flavor again after bland hospital food while we welcomed our third child into this world…
The Pepper steak was bland, had no life to it, the meat was grey, not brown, or any pink, or anything remotely appetizing… it was grey and tough. The sauce was brown and oozy with zero flavor, the vegetables were mushy and had no life - let alone any flavor to them.
I cannot express how bad this dish was. If I could give a lower score, I would. Give me hospital food 10/10 over this trash.
Solidly fine but no need to return. I'm on quest for a new Thai place now that Rabieng closed and this is a miss.
All of the curries were uninspired (emerald curry, not at all spicy despite warning, panang, and massaman). The drunken noodles mostly tasted of soy sauce. The som tam was fine but missing something and the tom kha gai only tasted of lime, with occasional hints of galangal. Veggies in things seemed fresh and nice but overall, missing a lot of flavor.
What a delicious food, the chicken was amazing.
Their beef panang curry is the most similar to what I've had in Bangkok. Very tasty, fresh and the green beans actualy work in the dish. I can't wait to try their other curries!
We ordered takeout via the phone and they were very attentive and nice!
These people do not like Indians.
It's okay. Feels like a mom and pop, which is nice. The food was a little bland, and most main dishes (including curries from what I gather) do not come with rice. Had the Pad Thai and the Spring Rolls, do not recommend either. I prefer other Thai establishments in the area.
Great neighborhood spot with fresh food.
Great food and staff. Stayed open later for us when they were going to close.
Delicious food at a family business!! We got the shrimp dumplings, the green curry (chicken) and the vegetarian curry (red curry) and the curries were AMAZING. Great portions for the price. The Sing Ha thai beer was also lovely. Looking forward to returning here.
Very enjoyable meal .... well looked after

Good portions and flavor, moist chx and pork compared with others. Ordering online and selecting between the three levels of spice is occasionally inconsistent. The highest can be perfect or bring tears. The middle can be bland or perfect. Easily fixed, I usually like more heat than most Americans but only tears-hot once in a while. Just be consistent.
I had a wonderful experience dining at Thai Noy tonight. I have had take out from here many times and have never been disappointed. After pandemic and with the current inflation, the prices here are very reasonable, the service was on point, and the food was amazing. I will continue to support this business for as long as I live in the area. 5 stars no question.
Food is ok!
Drastic change in quality. We used to come here once a month before the pandemic when we lived in Falls Church City. Food was magnificent. We moved to Alexandria and would still make the drive. We came on Father’s Day for the first time in almost 2 1/2 years, post pandemic. They weren’t very busy — 2 servers, patio about 75% full and only one table indoors. Every dish was terrible and I hate to say that because I voted for them for Taste of Arlington. Dramatic change since the pandemic. Coconut soup: far too much lime and the chicken was extremely dry. Satay: Chicken — grill burn marks in a few places, literally burnt chicken. Needless to say it was over cooked and also extremely dry. I brought a friend with me to celebrate a major accomplishment in her life. Thai food is her favorite and I told her we would be well-served to come here. I was so embarrassed. I hoped the entrees would be better. Unfortunately they weren’t. Chicken fried rice had three ingredients: chicken, rice & onions garnished with cilantro. No carrots, no egg, no scallions. Not even the cucumber decoration. I ordered the Crispy Fish with Chili Sauce, a market price dish. It used to be whole flounder and was amazing. Flounder is too expensive right now, they said, so they served with tilapia. I said okay. I was expecting whole tilapia in place of whole flounder. Instead they used fillets and they were so overcooked I couldn’t chew the meat. It looked and tasted like they’d been fried that morning and had been sitting before being reheated prior to pouring bottle chili sauce over them. I usually manage but it was so bad I sent it back. I decided not to order another dish. The mango sticky rice was decent. Mango was perfectly ripe. The rice was undercooked and the sauce was scarce.
They made it through COVID, and I’m so happy for them. I hope they’re able to return to their previous quality. Right now they’re limping along. Bad food for a restaurant not even busy in a major holiday. I drove 35 mins from DC to eat here, picking up my friend in Alexandria who was another 20 mins away. I may give them another shot if I’m in the area. I doubt I’ll make the drive again just to come here. $90 with Thai tea. Of course I still tipped the sever well. Very disappointing meal though.
Go to Thai
Crying Tiger and Chicken Drunken Noodles were great! Fresh meats and perfect amount of sauce and seasonings on everything. Curious to try more offerings here.
This is my go to Thai restaurant in Arlington
The last few times that we have had dinner at Thai Noy, it's been a nightmare. The service is lacking and the food is never consistent. We have tried to continue to support this local business, but we just can't anymore. Sadly.
so yummy anything you order will taste amazing!!!
Smells amazing. Inviting from the moment hit the door. Incredible spring rolls, tasty peanut sauce goes with satay, pad Thai rocks. Huge portions!!!
Spotless clean, easy parking, best Thai in town. One portion and spring rolls enough for two. Yummy. I tried another Thai restaurant on Fairfax closer to Ballston but ugh, food was terrible and service nonexistent so I learned my lesson no one is as good as Thai Noy so don't even try.
My family has been dining at (or more lately from due to the pandemic) Thai Noy for 20 years. We like the food and the staff has always been friendly to us. Their Pad Thai has definitely improved. The Pad se Ew has been relatively consistent- not 100% but close. The kids love it with chicken. My wife and I especially like the fried fresh fish dishes. The place is a neighborhood treasure. I’ll always recommend giving it a try!
Had the chicken Pad Thai and it was absolutely phenomenal. Great friendly service as well as a beautiful atmosphere.
Great atmosphere, super friendly and helpful staff, and delicious food. The peanut sauce is amazing! Highly recommended and I will definitely be back.
Finally managed to get something other than just sushi
Me and my boyfriend just tried out their meal pretty good my boyfriend likes it. My taste is kinda different but will try another time another food. Thank you
Food was great. Service was good even with us being the last table I didn't feel rushed. The Red Currys are top notch 👌
Great authentic Thai, nice ambiance and friendly servers.
Great food. Pleasant atmosphere
Amazing food and people
Awesome food. Had the drunken noodles, fried rice, and dumplings. Best Thai in dc. You won’t be disappointed.
If I could give 0 stars I would. First time in the area and was treated horribly. Will soon be living in the area but from the minute we were looking at the menu was treated like an intruder. Then the food came out and when opened was shrimp instead of beef which we can’t eat shrimp. It was dripping out of the bag. When we called to resolve the issue they made it seem like it was our fault and told us to drive 30 minutes or they wouldn’t do anything. Not only will I not be going here again but I’ll be telling everyone I know not to either and you should too. God bless you and them!
I went into this place and said I want a cup of coffee can you help me he said sure will have to brew a pot I said I want one of those really strong Asian style coffees So he said good I have what you want I will make it Vietnamese style The man at the At the Thai restaurant made me Vietnamese coffee you gotta love it I did and I will be back
Delicious Thai food!!
One of my favorite Thai restaurants! We always get the panang curry, drunken noodles, and the crying tiger. The staff is friendly and service is fast.
Best Thai food in the area! I haven’t gotten a chance to actually sit down and eat inside the restaurant but their takeout is so delicious, fresh, and flavorful!! So glad I found this hidden gem!
I lived in Thailand for over two years and this is the only Thai restaurant I’ll ever eat at in the DMV area. Please support your local businesses.
Oh my Gosh . This place is so good. Taste Authentic & HomeLike . Spring rolls a must ! I got the Tom Yum Talay . So yummy
Excellent Thai food! I have eaten here 3 times and each time it was exactly as before, which is delightful! Their socially-distanced take out was perfect, they were very kind and thoughtful
Delicious. Had socially distanced take-out on their patio. Great food, decently quiet neighborhood with shade on patio after 5pm.
Delicious food and Thai sweet tea. We ate outside on their patio with umbrellas for shade.
Best Thai food hands down. Panag curry is on point and love the larb!! Eat here!!!
Solid Isan/northern Thai food. Laab mu is very good, served on lettuce leaves. Get sticky rice to sop up the juice. Pork w basil is good not great. Spring/(garden?) rolls w shrimp are light and good. Good people work here. Very friendly and professional.
Food quality and service are consistent and never disappointing. I have tried many Thai restaurants in the area and this has been always my go to place. I take out of town guests to this place all the time. Definitely recommend BBQ chicken and fried whole fish among many other items
Amazing food and ambiance did not expect it at all but seems like a hidden gem. I'll definitely want to try more food! Friendly staff as well
Consistently good food, just the right degree of spiciness and no grease. Friendly service, too.
Tried their Beef Red Curry dish. It is one of my new favorite dishes, at Thai Noy Restaurant. The Mekong chicken peanut sauce is still #1 for me.
Not so great this time
The food is always delicious, the staff are super friendly, and the service is quick! Thai Noy is one of my favorite places to eat, definitely a hidden gem!
EXCELLENT food and Incredible customer service.
Awesome food and quick Service
Consistently good Thai food. Smidge pricier than some spots, but classier as well. Great for take out. There soups are very, very good. The Larb Gai is a favorite dish.
Drunken Noodles is full of tablesugar!
Food is always Excellent. My favorite thai restaurant.
Consistantly the best Thai food! Warm, friendly environment with excellent service and exceptional cuisine.
Thai Noy is a great spot for a quick bite of Thai food any time. We stopped by for lunch, and had Tom khai ga soup, crispy crab rolls, and shared an order of Pad Thai and a ginger ale. The server was prompt and friendly and the food was ready fast. The check was a nice surprise, as our total was less than $40! Under $50 including the tip. We'll definitely be back here often.
Wasn't bad, but nothing stood out either. My spicy fried rice was ordered Thai hot and was barely spicy at all, even by 'murican standards. My wife liked her pad thai. Prices were reasonable. Service was pretty quick.
One of my favorite places. Good food and friendly staff!
Quaintblittle Thai spot, authentic food and to the best of my knowledge, not very Americanized.
Just the BEST Thai restaurant in North Arlington, and probably one of the best in the area. Friendly service. Been eating there for almost twenty years and have never, ever had anything but a very good meal.
It can take a few minutes to find a parking spot on a weekend evening, but never a major problem. Highly recommended.
Fresh, very tasty Thai food & generous portions.
Great thai food and service. Reasonable prices.
My family has held our Christmas Eve dinner here every year for the last 10+ years. The food is always outstanding and the service is both impeccable and personable. Try the Crying Tiger!
Good food,
One of the top Thai restaurants in the DC area. Kind of a hidden gem.
Food is incredible, the staff personable and attentive, and owner Kot wonderful.
I am quite particular as I used to be in the food business. We live in the Westover neighborhood where Thai Noy is located, and it is our go-to restaurant. I even take my real estate clients there!
Excellent in every aspect
A lovely local restaurant. Wonderful food, friendly owner and staff, and for when we can't make it out it's ready for pickup in 20 minutes. The curries and drunken noodles are favorites but also try some of their signature dishes!
Great Thai food. Came for Spicy Pork Pad Thai and it was on point. Would visit again.
Best. Thai. I've ever had in the US!!! Must go there
Lovely neighborhood Thai restaurant
Consistently excellent Thai food always prepared with the freshest Ingredients.
Solid go-to Thai in my hood. Outdoor deck is nice even though it overlooks the parking lot - for some reason it works. Dishes are good; they recently bumped up the prices a bit.
Best Thai food in Arlington
June 9th 2018, my wife ordered a take away menu from this restaurant, We were having this food inside our car, just parked outside the restaurant. Since we have 2 kids and one of them just 6 months old , we did not bother to eat in. While we were eating the food we found a cockroach was floating our sea food item. I showed them , the person who was in charge on that time made argue with me just because the food was taken outside the restaurant. I replied him they have take away service and they can't ignore my complain. He asked me to go back of the restaurant with him and offered me $50 as compensation. I asked him to give my money back for the food and I said I will report it to the health department. The guy went out and captured picture for my car while my wife and kids were waiting inside my car. He came back and gave my money back and asked me to leave the restaurant.
Good food. Friendly service
Delicious, and beautiful presentation of the food. Waitress very polite.
Very good food. I was impressed with the quality, and I'll definitely be back. The dumpling appetizer is particularly good; perfectly al dente and the filling was tasty
Best Thai I've ever had!
Average Thai and Laotian taste. A bit pricier than most Thai restaurants. Friendly service.
Their pad thai is delicious, also their drunken noodles and the fresh rolls
One of my favorite Thai restaurants in the area. Pork with Basil is graet!
Great server, great food, great experience. Been living in MD for a year now and this is by far the best thai/lao restaurant.
I always enjoy the food and experience here. Very tasty and consistent.
This is a favorite -- I really like their pine nut chicken (I substitute tofu). It is full of vegetables and very flavorful and fresh tasting. The staff are wonderful and recognize you if you come with any frequency at all. I also highly recommend their ginger icecream. I'm not a fan of deserts and particularly not of ice cream - but this had real chunks of ginger in it and it was refreshing and delicious! Friends have had the pad thai here and were disappointed with the flavors/sauce, finding it too sweet, almost ketchup-y. But, that is the only miss we've ever had. It may have been an off night. Everything else has always been delicious.
We’ve been eating here since 1998 and the food and service have been just awesome every time. Great place!
Tiny neighborhood restaurant with delicious food and surprisingly sophisticated presentation.
Friends and I went here after a backpacking trip and we were tired and hungry for some hot food. So Thai Noy was already at an advantage. The food we got however was still bad enough that we didn't eat most of the main entrees. The appetizers should have been a sign -- I ordered the chive dumplings. These had a lot of chives in them, but I couldn't taste anything but oil because it was just soaked in it. Not complaining about just "oily" or greasy food - I could not taste any of the chives in each dumpling. We decided to wait for the entrees and we realized it was the same story. One of our entrees had cold tofu and both entrees were way more spicy than they should be (the owner even acknowledged this). All of us are used to heat in our food but this was just an unreasonable amount - to the point where it's no longer spicy but just burning our mouths. Apart from this, the food itself wasn't good. The Emerald Curry barely had any curry in it (this was the one with the cold tofu). I've had cheapo Thai and expensive Thai, but I've never had Thai this bad. And to top this all off, this place is not a cheap hole in the wall or anything. Entrees were $14-16. We told the manager/owner(?) who said "we'll fix it" - came back with the dishes and quite literally said "the drunken noodles are now *edible*, trust me, I know what you were talking about". Arlington may have good food. But this place is does not have it. Do NOT recommend.
Nice little neighborhood Thai place. Service is good and staff is friendly. Atmosphere is very nice as well. Many will find it very tasty and very good. Only reason for three stars instead of four is because the flavor is designed to play it safe with customers who are new to Thai food.
Fast, no-fuss Thai
Flew into Dulles and stopped here on our way into DC. Great stop. Fast service and great food. The shrimp in the pad thai was fresh.
Always fresh and delicious! Generous portions and friendly service whether eating in or taking out! This is our go-to Thai restaurant!
This is our favorite Thai restaurant in Northern Virginia. Everything we have tried was delicious.
Tonight we enjoyed Drunken noodles with shrimp and Halibut with shrimp and vegetables.
Arrived just before the crowds, inside and out.
Highly recommended.
Consistently good food. Very friendly. The outdoor patio is nice when the weather permits.
