Delicious Thai Food
New owner, New management
Open everyday 11:00am-9:30pm
Came in today after church and I wanted something for lunch. When I walked in I was greeted with a smile on my front desk women, she was welcoming, love the food. I got the Fried rice and Thai ice tea with the suprint roll, it was delicious. I would rate the meal a 10/10 and the customer service and atmosphere an also 10/10. Definitely recommend coming
The new owners in this longtime former Thai Lemongrass spot have done an amazing job renovating the space. It’s bright and modern and welcoming, like the staff. It’s cozy and invites you to come for a tea or coffee, not just a meal.
But the food is fantastic, and reflects more regional diversity than most Thai spots in the area with a mix of northern and southern dishes, including the usual favorites but also specialty items like sun-dried beef with stick rice, which is like a tender beef jerky, and a wider range of noodle dishes than most.
The larb gai has plenty herbs and roasted rice, and is served with a cool, crisp, tender wedge of green cabbage just like I’ve had so many times when traveling there. The fried rice has a nice smokiness and a little funk that is unique to Thai fried rice. Thai tea isn’t overly sweet, which is refreshing.
We miss our friends from Lemongrass, but we’re thrilled to make new ones here at Thai Lemon. A wonderful addition to the area!
Traveled over to Van Dorn area today to try new Thai Restaurant. It was a cold November day so immediately I knew I wanted Thom Ka Gai. As someone who's worked in the industry and made this soup in restaurants and at home, I was blown away with how flavorful it was. My girlfriend wanted to try their curry called Kanom Jeen to warm her up. This was a dish she had never tried before and it was very flavorful. Most Thai curries in the DMV area that we have tried are sweeter. However Thai Lemon's was not which was perfect. We get curries a lot so were used to it coming with a side of rice, their Kanoom Jeen was served with steamed noodles which we enjoyed! The other dish I ordered was Kua Kling, a ground pork spicy dish. They were very accommodating to adjust to my spice level. Even my girlfriend who doesn't typically eat pork tried it and loved when she paired it with her curry, "it was spectacular." For desert we devoured the mango sticky rice. It was out of this world, and the rice even had a green flare to it which I have never seen and sticks out.
Their atmosphere is very homey. I like the neon logo sign on the wall which is a perfect spot for photos. Theres plenty of cozy and cute decorations on the walls. The server was very attentive.
If you are in the area definitely check out Thai Lemon for a memorable meal.
Thai Lemon is an excellent restaurant for those who miss the authentic taste of Thai cuisine. Not only is the food delicious, but it also gives you the feeling of being back home. It's highly recommended for people in the DMV area who want to experience true Thai flavors. You should definitely give it a try!
Good food and generally great service over the years. Satay is excellent as is s the cashew chicken. This has been my go to for a decade.

The food is literally beautiful, and delicious.
Delicious food I recommend
I am so happy to have found a quality Thai restaurant. This restaurant has been remodeled. The atmosphere is welcoming & very clean. The service is friendly & attentive. Our dinner was excellent. I love spring rolls, Tom Kha Gai & Pad Thai. Shrimp special was very good too. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Everything about this new (three month old) restaurant is wonderful. The food, based on Chef New's mother's recipes, the excellent service, and the cheerful atmosphere, reflect loving attention to every detail. My friend and I both got the $14.95 lunch specials, adding $3 for Thai Tea and Bangkok Coffee. We both got Tom Kha Soup and shared Drunken Noodles with Chicken and Pork Kra Prow. Portions were very generous. Don't be confused. This is a new restaurant and not Thai Lemongrass, which was formerly at this location. The lunch special is available every day. Located in Van Dorn Station, there's lots of parking and a bus stop nearby.
Great food!
The Garlic Beef and Massaman Curry were excellent.
Food was delicious and the owner is so kind. I recommend
Great food. Great service great atmosphere. The coconut milk soup was perfect on a cold day.
This restaurant delivered an exceptional dining experience that exceeded my expectations. Food was delicious, staff's attentiveness and warmth elevated the meal, providing top-tier service that made me feel genuinely welcomed. From the first bite to the last, every moment was a delight that I won't soon forget. Keep shining guys✨✨✨
The Tom Ka !!!! YUM so delicious I wish they served larger bowls because that is all I wanted and it was amazing! Also the Mango Sticky Rice was amazing!
We've lived in the area but never came to the restaurant that was here before the new owner took over.
Love this place and their new owners, a young couple with tons of energy and flair.
I came with a family of 12, they served us all with patience and great food and ambiance.
You have a to visit this new gem!
My new favorite Thai Restaurant. Delicious.
We just ate here for the first time. We had drunken noodles and kra prow. Sticky rice and kluay roti (bananas and condensed milk) for dessert. The food was great. So was the service. Cute place The owners are young and just getting started. We're rooting for them. We will be back!
They recently renovated the restaurant. Ambience is awesome. And yea, food is still great!

Service is excellent, the food delicious and well prepared very authentic flavors. The tea was great green tea and ginger with honey! Served in gorgeous glass cups with a full tea pot. The deco is fresh, clean, positive notes everywhere!! The music just mellow and a very good vibe!
I will recommend it to anybody that wants to eat well and spend a delightful time!!
The food is delicious! Authentic Thai food! The staff are very kind and friendly. The place is beautiful and sparkling clean. A real gem 💎! Strongly recommended!
This is a hidden gem! We stumbled upon Thai Lemon unexpectedly and were blown away. The ambiance is wonderful. It is clean and very beautifully decorated. The food was also presented beautifully. The wait staff was excellent. Highly recommend!!
The food was fresh and flavorful, and the waitstaff provided incredible service. We ordered the Tom Ka soup, Panang curry, and the mango sticky rice for dessert. All three were wonderful.
Beautiful Restaurant, Abundant menu offerings, Awesome food & Service! All of staff there makes you feel at home, valued and appreciated. Fantastic prices and portions are Great, come hungry you will be Happy you did!!! 5 Stars and Thanks to Every one for a Perfect experience Every time!
I really enjoyed the stores calm ambiance and new decor. Once inside I was greeted with a warm welcome and smile. As someone who has worked in customer service, I can appreciate whenever I am given truly amazing customer service. I was able to meet the gentleman behind the bar who was also very welcoming. After trying their food, I highly recommend giving them a try! The food was delicious and the ingredients they used seemed fresh. Total random side note; I love the bowls they give you for takeout they are perfect for meal prepping! They also were very kind to offer a free coffee as well, I really appreciate it. Thank you Vicky! I rarely post reviews but these guys absolutely deserve it :)

Delicious food, friendly staff, clean and relaxing environment. I will go back!
The food at this newly-owned, beloved-for-years Thai restaurant is incredible, the best Pad Thai I’ve ever had. The owner and chef, New, is masterful in the kitchen, weaving delicious, beautifully – plated creations. The new renovations make this place also very light, airy, fun, and welcoming. Go immediately to dine in or carry out. it’s a new business, so please support it.
I forget take picture but foods very good 💯😊. Crabmeat fried rice 🍚 number 👍

Just ate here after a long time and it was much improved. The service was great and the food was hot and fresh. The drunken noodles were delicious and made spicy as per my request. The Thai iced tea was so good and served nicely in a mason jar mug. We were given a wonderful complementary desert of banana sauteed in roti. I would go back for that alone. The place was clean and well decorated. Definitely would return.
Food was very good, came with my friends from work and we all enjoyed our food and service ❤️
Amazing pad Thai and fresh Thai iced tea lemonade!
I love this place! If you want to try something new and never be disappointed. Try this place!
The only positive thing about Thai Lemon Grass is their delicious spring rolls and the friendly waitress. Unfortunately, my main dish, the Panang Curry, was bland, flavorless, and not spicy at all. The portion size was disappointingly small for the price, and I had to pay extra for more rice and tofu. I’ve had much better experiences at other Thai restaurants in the area and will stick to my go-to spots from now on.
I SHOULD VE READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE GOING TO THIS RESTAURANT...SPEND 23 ON A MEAL FOR LUNCH THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A COMBINATION OF SEAFOOD... BELIEVE IT OR NOT...THEY PUT 1 TINY PIECE OF SHRIMP IN IT...THE SMALLEST SMALLEST SCALLOP U EVER SEEN IN UR LIFE AND A ALL BUNCH OF VEGETABLE AND BROTH WITH NO FLAVOR...NO WONDER THE PLACE WAS SO EMPTY...FOR 30MNS I WAS THERE ...NOT EVEN 1 PERSON ENTERED THE PLACE...WILL NOT GO BACK NEITHER RECOMMEND IT..... DON'T GET FOOLED BY THE BEAUTIFUL FOOD PICS ON THEIR WEBSITE...YOU WON'T GET UR MONEY WORTHY ....SMHHHH
Food was pretty good. Wasn't spicy like other Thai restaurants.
Since Covid lock down, we've only had delivery and very rare mistakes or something forgotten. BUT... they are professional and get great food, either with pickup or delivery.
Prior to Covid this was my go-to place for Thai food. The restaurant itself no longer exists, boxes of supplies take up where the seats once were and the quality of the food has taken a nose dive.
Unfortunately this is the worst thai ive ever had. Absolutely zero flavor, for both appetizers and main. Ordered a stirfry that was full of onion, carrots and 2 chunks of a tomato? WTH. Who puts tomato in a stirfry? Where are the rest of the vegetables ie greens/ peppers ? For the price of $18 or so for a single dish i did not get my moneys worth. No customers which is usually an indicator of a not so good restaurant. Lesson learned.
First time doing pickup here. We had quit coming here more than a few years ago, when there was a chef change. Either the old one came back, or he trained someone else and sent them here, because the food is great again. Prad kaprow sauce isn't thin and oily like most other places, my wife finally had panang curry she liked, and the larb is simultaneously flaming hot and full of flavor.
Im very honest in my reviews and will not be coming back unfortunately. I ordered pad see ew with shrimp. It cost me 18.90 which would be fine if it was tasty or had a lot of food. It was only 6 shrimp that were very small and wildly over cooked and all noodles. Barley any veggies. I have no problem if you’re going to cook without passion but don’t serve poor street food quality at high end prices. The lady was very nice so I don’t want to give them one star but I will be looking for other Thai restaurants in the future
Takeout only.
Not sure I’ll recommend this place to anyone. The lady seems nice but the food was terrible. No flavor whatsoever. This is my first time ever writing a food review. I usually let it slide but this was bad I had to say something. I spent $50 and I had to give the food away to someone else. The assorted fried rice was the worst.
Ordered the Tom yum chicken. Medium spice. It was water with chicken and no flavour. The beef salad was bland as well. I’m from south Florida and have never had such awful food.
I asked for the Pad thai to be medium spicy and it was the BEST Pad thai I've ever had and I have had it all across the US. I will definitely be going back!
We wanted to like the food because the people seemed nice. Sadly, the food was quite bad. Totally off the mark. The Tom Kha Gai (Chicken Soup in Coconut Milk) was missing a few let ingredients like the galangal and bay leaves. The Pad Kra Pao (Stir Fried Pork with Basil Leaves) should've been made with ground pork. Instead of was sliced pork and it had bamboo shoots and hardly any basil leaves! Never had it with bamboo shoots anywhere in Thailand! It was a very, very disappointing experience!!
Food is good but ability to contact restaurant or order for delivery is increasingly inconsistent.
Food is great, Pad Thai is my go to. Unfortunately they NEVER open on time! Several times I've called to place an order and they never answer the phone. Never!!!! They advertise opening at 12 however that's rarely the case.
They definately have THE BEST Tom Yum lemongrass seafood soup!! Out of all Thai restaurants i ordered this soup from - theirs is totally the best!! They put this authentic mushrooms in it that are my favorite!! The only reason for 4 starts is that i tried several other dishes from the restaurant - all good but nothing special, average taste. Definitely recommend to try their soup thought!
Good service
They are my go to for the last 9 years Denita ❤ 😍 💖 this place
They have the best Thai food in the Alexandria area. It’s not a flashy place but the chicken pad Thai is on point. I moved to the Alexandria area about a year ago and I have tried many many Thai restaurants somewhere OK and some not so good. This is the first one but I think it’s truly amazing.
Food is always great & I appreciate the kitchen’s staff efforts to deliver consistent quality.. but customer service? I’d give a zero star if it were possible. Staff is so rude on the phone and in person you would think you are in a prank tv show. True nightmare. I hope they consider reviewing their mannerisms in dealing with customers.
They offer carry out. I always order pad thai which is really good
Great thai food the thai red curry is my favorite! And i like the calamari get it every time.
Got the red curry and drunken noodles. A lot of people said they enjoyed the drunken noodles but I found both dishes rather bland. A lot better thai restaurants in the area
Got food to go, our 1st time
Got 2 softshell crabs that were tiny and deep fried in burnt oil for $22. Also ordered Tom yum soup that was inferior to other places in Old Town. Disappointed on quality for price...not returning.
We ordered here by mistake. Meant to try another Thai place that was recommended by some friends. Great mistake. We will be coming back. Everything was fantastic. We ordered drunken noodles, pad thai, panang, pad see ew, lemon grass soup and another shrimp curry we had never tried. It was all great. Also some of the best spring rolls we have had.
Pad thai w/ thai tea 😍🔥🔥
Food is good, better tasting that a lot of other Thai restaurants in the area but I wish they wouldn't use styrofoam. We always end up going somewhere else when we remember they put their take away food in styrofoam.
My girlfriend and I know we can share the pad thai... we still order 2 every time.
I get their spicy drunken noodles and fried rice regularly and they never disappoint! I am so glad they’ve been able to stay open!!! Everything from here is amazing!!!!
Reliable. Tasty. Spicy! If you want spicy, it will be spicy. Pad Thai with chicken and tofu is a new favorite. Drunken noodles with beef or chicken also very good. And the basil fried rice is scrumptious. Nice portions. I’ve only dined in a couple times. Usually do delivery or carry out and quality is consistent.
Horrible pad thai an very over priced....won't ever go again.... Tom yum in Vienna or Busara in tysons corner the best....people who think this place is great hasn't tried really good thai food!!!!!
The food tasted very good. The portion sizes of their entrees are larger than most Thai restaurants in the DC area. Their D-Day seafood fried rice was delicious.
Awesome food and service. Great local place!!!
Food was wrong, then it was mediocre. Servers were overrun, and the service suffered terribly for it. Appears to be family run or similar, so I am happily patient, but when we left, we weren't impressed. Probably won't come back, lots of other places to try around here.
The WORST quality food I EVER had. My stomach hurts after having their Pad Thai Shrimp and I called the restaurant to let them know and they couldn’t care less. I paid around $40 for dinner with some sides and I’ve never been so angry on wasting $40. THERES so many other restaurants in the area, please go elsewhere.
40 minute wait for food. Take out people came and went while we sat. Absurd.
The service is always good and the food I enjoy we've been going to this restaurant for 25 years delicious I recommend it highly the lemongrass soup is delish
great food great prices great service
My Basil fried rice with chicken was really good. The portion was large!👌🏽
Always a great meal!
Very good restaurant, I tried Pepper Steak, that dish was so delicious, I totally recommend it.
Everything's delish
The pad Thai noodles were too aldente and cold. The Yam wood sen was not what I expected at all.
Delicious
Estubo muy bonito el paseo
Very impressed with the food. Best drunken noodles around and I am in delivery range. The Panang curry chicken was fantastic, I got medium spice and it was perfect and enough for 3 of us. The drunken noodles were so flavorful and again, enough for 3 of us. Great spring rolls too. Can't wait to try the crispy duck and many other selections.
The best thing is, wonderful customer service.
Big portions great service
A bit pricey compared to the 10 thousand Thai place around but, the food was good.
My family and I have been attending this restaurant for many, many years. The customer service of amazing, the food is always great. They have yet to disappoint.
The food was great, this is a weekly lunch spot.
Very pleasantly surprised by the food. An unassuming place in the middle of a strip mall, did not have high expectations but left extremely satisfied with the taste and level of spiciness (they didn't dull it down like many places do).
Delicious meals in a local proximity.
Great food, like to eat there !
By far the BEST Drunken Noodles I have EVER eaten!
Best Pad Thai ever. Cannot find it as good anywhere!!
Yum!
Good food and service
Food is always hot and spicy
Great food, staff and friendly and always provide amazing service. Must try Drunken noodles and Pad Thai!
Mediocre food
This Thai Lemon Gras is good.
Such a nice place
Been on the hunt for crispy duck for a good while. Thai Lemon Grass has some of the most amazing Thai food I've had in a very long time. Highly recommend this spot.
Highly recommend the pad Thai. Great prices, food, and staff
My favorite place to get Thai when I visit Alexandria. Cute. In a shopping plaza with several other food restaurants. Fast service.
Not thai food!! It's overpriced Chinese food. I have never had thai food that tasted so bad. Very disappointed!
Solid Thai food and generous portions.
Changing my review from 5 to 2 stars. Used to really like this place, and the service is still awesome. Our server was great, polite, kept the water full, prompt, etc. The food, however, took a dive and was bland. We ended up using salt and such to make it have any flavor. I overheard someone talking about the owner being in the store, and forcing the cooks to be stingy with the spices. Well, instead of losing a dollar of spices, you lost a few customers.
Great authentic food. Good service. Fair price.
Excellent service, really good food. The crispy curry duck with pineapple is delicious. Good portion size.
Shrimp was not fresh, rancid
It’s okay. Not the most authentic Thai food.
Great food, friendly staff, reasonable prices. The food is fresh and we'll flavored. You can order anything on the extensive menu very hot, medium or very mild. Full bar with a cozy atmosphere. Our "go to" that never fails us. We love it!!
Love their food. My wife is very picky re Thai food and she would not enter most Thai restaurants more than once. However she would go to Lemongrass any time we get in the area. The staff is great. Ask them for customization and/or directions even if you are well acquainted with the meal you order. They may suggest some stuff and, if you take their advice, you have to admit that it was the right thing to do.
Horrible service. I asked the waitress for more sweet and sour sauce and was told it didn’t come with my meal. I was given 2 little packets and wanted more. I was told it cost 1$ for more sauce
Slow service. Asked for sweet and sour sauce to eat with a meal and was told one was complimentary and if we wanted more we would have to pay because it’s not customary to eat it with the meal we ordered. Ketchup shouldn’t be on eggs but who am I to judge how people eat! Not returning after being a long standing customer. This is what the owner said to the wait staff. Plus dealing with the public while holding a baby is also unacceptable.
Great food. Pad Thai Shrimp was delicious. Service is fantastic and quick!
This was my all time favorite Thai Restaurant in the area for the past 17 years until recently I've noticed more and more how Dry and Bland their dishes have become. Change in management? Closing shop? The past several weeks I would get a take out during peak hours and the place is almost completely empty.
So sad....my all time favorite No More:(((
Very disappointed with this place. Its unfortunate because the food is amazing. Just moved to the area and I'm a thai fanatic. My first night here ordered pad noodles and the basil shrimp fried rice. My delivery was quick and I'm a firm believer in tipping so I gave the guy 6.00 on a 30.00 delivery. My pad noodles were Lad Na which to me are gross.
The very next day I decided to dine in to check out the place that would be my spot. Horrible service the shrimp wrapped apps were not that good but the green curry and my beef and broccoli was great. I asked for a can of sapporo she brought a bottle and said no cans after she opened it so I said why not.
My issue is that .....i ordered 2 entrees and they gave me a small little cup of steamed rice. I asked for another cup of rice because I only got 1. I packed up my leftovers for the road got my bill left a 9.00 tip only to realize that I was charged 3.00 for that rice. I've eaten Thai food all over the world. I've never been charged 3.00 or any cost for a portion of rice that costs pennies. By no means do I want nor ask for anything for free but that's ridiculous. And that why you will not receive a single dollar from me ever again.
We waited long to get a server. The server was slow and didn't listen to what we ordered. She gave us our check without asking if we wanted anything else. Could have been her bad day. Some people said they liked that place. The food was just ok. Nothing to say bad about it.
One of my neighborhood "go-to" places. One of the first Thai restaurants in this part of Northern Virginia: I've been going there since 1990 when they opened. Good, cheap eats, cheerful, friendly staff.
Very good food and pleasant atmosphere. Pricey though.
Good food and quick service.
I grew up in Hawaii & ate spicy thai food all the time. This is delicious thai & everyone is so nice. I have used for catering for business appointments as well; great option. I eat here so much that when I call for carryout they greet me by name & already know my order:) My personal favorite is the Basil Thai Style Chicken extra spicy & spring rolls ; they're delicious!
Delicious meal every time
Quiet and calm atmosphere & the food is always delicious! The employees are nice.
