The puffs contain a mashed potato mix and were delicious ... kind of a combination of a French pastry and samosa with the typical sweetness found in Thai food. Prices were reasonable. Free parking if available behind the restaurant.

We are so stoked that Sara Thai now has a location in Sugarhouse. Everything on the menu is fantastic and after we tried the whole crispy fish we can’t eat here without ordering it. You’ll want to lick the sauce that it comes with off your fingers, it’s so good. We get extra sticky rice to soak it up.

We’ve found our Thai place!

Awesome appetizer! Flavorful food that isn’t too spicy, but definitely ask for the chili globe like thing to add to your food- it adds a layer of flavor that makes it spectacular! Sometimes you find a sauce at a place that makes you return, just because the sauce is so uniquely delicious- this is the sauce, this is the place.

Eli was a fantastic server, we let her know it’s our first time, and yeah we’ll be back- count on us to be on the monthly team rotation of eating out-thanks.

Mango sticky rice dessert is not worth sharing, just get your own:)

I’ve been to many Thai restaurants, and this place is the clear winner! Here’s a list of the things I’d like to share:

1. Clean and pleasant environment.
2. Friendly and smiley servers.
3. Beautiful plating.
4. Great presentation of food.
5. Everything was cooked to perfection. My wife and I had Pad Thai and Tom Yum Fried Rice, and both dishes were perfectly balanced in terms of flavor and the amount of ingredients. Even the egg in the Pad Thai tasted amazing. The Tom Yum Fried Rice was great too! The rice was perfectly cooked, with noticeable browning and charring all over. The portions were great. I almost forgot but their Thai Tea was great too!
6. Reasonable prices.
7. Enough parking spaces behind the building given its size and the location.

I’ll definitely return to Sara Thai Kitchen to try other dishes that aren’t stir-fried. Based on what I had, I’m confident they’re excellent at stir-fries, and this makes me eager to explore other foods with different cooking methods, like soups, salads, and curries, and desserts.

One thing I would like to say is, "Please maintain this overall quality!"

First visit was for lunch on a Friday. Very clean and bright atmosphere. Food was INCREDIBLE. Service was top notch too. Family run. They take great pride in their food and it shows. Shared the chicken satay, Penang curry with chicken, and shrimp pad Thai. Quite literally the best Thai I’ve ever had. Will absolutely be back.

I am new to Thai and told the server what I was looking for and they recommended i try Khao Soi! It was a noodle dish with a yummy type of yellow curry sauce! It’s the best thing I’ve ate all year. Our food was delicious and the service was amazing and personable!

I was excited to try this place. Unfortunately, it was a big letdown. Beef in stir fry was not fresh, veggies were ok but borderline rancid beef makes me never want to go back.

Server clearly didn't want to be working there. At least pretend you are interested in your job.

OMG the food at this family run place is tasty! Eli at the front of house is one of the best hosts you'll ever encounter. And half of the patrons seemed to be repeat customers who were greeted with "welcome back!" We were guests of repeat diners and that's how we were greeted. Everyone is treated like family.

This is a place to dine-in! We did take-out and the food is yummy, but the portion sizes were very small compared to other Thai restaurants, and compared to the price. However, great service and they were super fast!

The restaurant has potential. However, there was a few basic issues. 1) the food was drenched in oil. Most Thai places use too much oil. This place beat them all. 2) no spicey numbering system. Food was a bit bland as far as spiceyness goes because there was no choice of spicey level 3) too much soy sauce in the drunken noodles. It was too salty. 4) the beef was overcooked in the drunken noodle dish as well. Most Thai restaurants over cook the thinly sliced beef, but not all of them. 5) other than Thai tea, there was no beverages available other than nasty American soda from a fountain. I just don’t get this. A nice Thai restaurant with only soda fountain drinks. The water is very good however.

The waitress was wonderful. The dishes might have been more flavorful if there was less oil.

Best Thai food restaurant

I’m not sure if today was an off day or what, but we ordered a medium spice green curry and a medium spice pad Thai for takeout. The dishes were NOT medium. Normally I’m medium kind of girl, but this was worse than the Hot Ones Challenge. The pad thai had good flavors, but after the first bite, the spice just kept coming, and if you got a bite with the tiny red chile pepper it was excruciating. The green curry not only had a disappointing curry to rice ratio, but it was almost impossible to eat. After the heat cleared all my sinuses I’d had enough and I just threw the curry in the trash. Good flavors were there, but the spice was too much for a medium.

I can't praise Sara Thai Kitchen enough! Recently, after an exhausting day of travel, I was craving their delicious food. I was devastated to learn they were about to close, but the kind staff offered to deliver my order to my apartment. This level of care and compassion is truly remarkable.

Their food is equally impressive. The chicken skewers are tender and flavorful, the pad Thai is a perfect balance of sweet, savory, and spicy, and the mango sticky rice is a heavenly dessert. Every bite is a pure delight.

This place is incredible! We were greeted immediately. Our server, Ely (sp?) was the best I've seen in years!! She's adorable and exceptional, to say the least. We will be making the drive from Stansnury Park frequently to enjoy this awesome place.

We hired Sara Thai Kitchen to cater a medium sized wedding event held in Murray, and they performed flawlessly. We had large pans of food delivered, and they arrived on time. We ordered multiple different dishes like Yellow & Massaman Curry, Cashew Nuts, beef and chicken, and each dish was perfectly prepared – nothing was overcooked or undercooked – it was spot on. The vegetables were super fresh. Our guests went back for 2nds and they continuously commented on how great the food was and they wanted to know who was the caterer. The wedding day was stressful enough, but it was an immense relief to know we chose the right caterer.

My wife and I come here whenever we are craving Thai food. Every city we’ve traveled to, we always try some Thai restaurant and we have always had great Thai food since we’re originally from NYC. However, this is hands down one of the best, if not the best Thai restaurant we’ve ever had. Everything from their curries, to their soups, to their fried rices and even their Thai iced tea. IT’S SO GOOD! You won’t regret coming here and they are super attentive with their service. Come here for Thai cravings!

The customer service is FANTASTIC! I absolutely adore Eli. Eli uses sign language to communicate with me (I’m deaf). Always so sweet and welcoming when I come in to pick up the order.

The place is absolutely adorable. The decors are cute. The humidifier (or diffuser?) is a great add! I haven’t had a chance to dine in yet but I definitely will when I’m not too busy!

The food - I have tried and tried to find many different Thai places. Sure… most places have a good meal. Good curry. You can’t mess that up. But it just never hits me. I never felt “fulfilled” with a bite. This restaurant was the only one that was open pretty late when I needed a last minute take out. I ordered Massaman Curry and Thai Spring Rolls.

Holy moly. They both… you can tell they were cooked with LOVE. The curry was absolutely tasty. Incredibly delicious. It definitely hits the spot. I finally found my permanent “go to” for Thai food. Thai Spring Rolls is fantastic! I’m super picky with egg rolls and spring rolls in general. So many places in Utah does a “meh” job with egg rolls and spring rolls. But this one is really delicious. Perfect crunch. Perfect texture. I loved every bite of it.

You will NOT regret this place. Not only you will love the food but you will love their customer services and the atmosphere.

Was looking for a late lunch and Sara Thai Kitchen was recommended, almost in stereo, by two Dancing Crane employees.

I was overwhelmed by the menu due to the selections. So many good-looking options with vibrant pictures. No way the food could really look like this. I had the catfish salad and the angel wings.

Eli let me sit outside so that I could enjoy a beautifully sunny but not too sunny SLC day. Let's talk about Eli---it was like visiting a friend. Totally chill conversation, hospitality skills are top-notch and suggestions and explanations straight forward. The catfish salad is like a gastro dining dish! They make a fluffy....concoction---that is delicious and serve it with papaya, mango (?) green apple and other veggies in a delightfully bright and zesty dressing atop two lettuce leaves. For reasons I will not discuss, I only had one good hand and was able to make the lettuce leaves serve as a wrap. It was DELICIOUS if I didn't mention that above. A dance between all of the good that land and rivers can bring to the table. The Angel Wings were, well, angelic. Perfectly crisped and then drizzled in a flavorful sauce and topped with cilantro. Crisp and juicy and way too filling because they had to ride home with me.

I've had Thai food before but Sara's Thai Kitchen has elevated all of the usual fare and made it a moment for dining. I will be coming back because now I'm intrigued to learn about everything else that is on the menu.

The food was amazing and the customer service was fantastic!!! The server we got was Ben, and he was the nicest server I have ever had!!! The ambiance felt really good and it had a very Thai environment. At the end of our meal, we went outside to get in the car and my brother picked up an empty sparkler box to throw it away, and one of there employees was emptying the restaurant trash in to the dumpster when he saw my brother and gave us a hole bunch of sparklers and fireworks!!! The whole visit was unbelievable and epic!!!!!!!

Everything was tasty, but it was a tad pricey. The curry puffs were amazing, but personally we expected them to be bigger and have more because of the picture that was shown. There were 4 roughly palm sized pastries. The chili oil wasn't spicy and complemented it well.

Sara is traditionally decorated and very welcoming. I was craving for Tom kha and Sara Thai kitchen didn’t disappoint me one bit. I enjoy my hot soup til the last drop and I was very satisfied with it. Thanks to Eli and the whole kitchen crew for catering to my craving that day. It was our first time trying Thai food. My husband has a serious hate on for currey so we were skeptical. This is what we ordered:

Tom Yum Soup -- spice level yellow mustard. The flavor of this broth is AMAZING. Full of big mushrooms and veggies, we ordered ours with chicken. I could have stopped here and been great. DON'T EAT THE GINGER STALKS.

Pad Kee Mao -- spice level canned chili. Flat noodle dish with lots of veggies. We ordered this with chicken. Great flavor, a little heat but not much for a white girl. The sauce has a bit of a nutty flavor but I was advised it wasn't a peanut sauce. Something to double check if you have nut allergies.

Stir Fried Mixed Vegetables -- spice level yellow mustard. Lots of flavor, no heat. Sauce had a nutty flavor but was told it wasn't a peanut sauce.

Mochi ice cream -- mango -- this was really nice! Light, clean flavor!

We also had two bowls of chilies...one oil with a little heat and one with diced chilies (very hot) to turn up the heat of we wanted.

I would definitely recommend Sara Thai if you are making the foray into trying Thai food.

Yeah, this place is the best, no contest. We showed up within an hour of closing (I know, I know, I felt bad) and ordered two curry bowls. The kitchen was closing which obviously meant our curry took some time to get to the table, and we decided we would ask for it to-go since we were planning on catching a movie. Right as we decided to ask for it to go, our server came out with everything all dressed up on plates, and we felt SO bad asking for them to make it to-go. Instead of a flustered, frustrated (and well-warranted) reaction, a nice woman came over to help us pay while they put everything in containers, and asked us what we were leaving for. When we told her we were headed to a drive-in movie, she got so excited for us and went to get us extra plates, napkins, and silverware so we could enjoy our meal much easier. 11/10 service, and the curry was FANTASTIC. I’ll be going back any time I’m craving Thai!!!

Started off good, got our appetizers and the chicken was bloody. The waitress never checked on us once so we had to find her in the restaurant to tell her we wanted the check, she asked how everything was and we said “thanks for finally asking, the chicken was bloody and we’ve been out of water since our appetizers” and the waitresses response was “we will take $3.00 off.”

Really great food and friendly staff! Only Thai place I’ve had in Salt Lake City that I can order the highest spiciness level (level 5) and don’t have to add a ton of extra pepper flakes. Plus they are always generous and give me extra pepper flakes when I ask.

This place just jumped to the top of my list of best Thai restaurants! Everything we had was delicious. I especially recommend the chicken lollipops and the Thai beef noodles. The staff were all very friendly and the service was great. I highly recommend it.

Such good Thai food and attentive service. I had the Thai fried Rice and it was just the right amount of flavor and the serving sizes were huge. The pork pot stickers were the best I ever had. and Mango sticky rice was delicious as well.

Such a cute spot!! We had a work lunch here today on the patio and it was such a vibe. Order the Thai iced tea! 10/10 would recommend.

Yummy Food

Amazing thai food! I tried the crab rangoon and the tom yum soup with chicken and it was delicious. The atmosphere is great and the staff is so welcoming. Definitely will be back!

Hubby and I LOVED our server. The food was really good. The sticky mango rice was SO good. We enjoyed our first dinner outside of the year here. Sitting outside was enjoyable.♥️

This is a great Thai restaurant!!! The dinning area is very cute and the wait staff were so friendly! Vee (I believe was my waitress’ name) was so kind, she gave me extra Thai iced coffee to-go, free of charge! There’s lots of variety on the menu and the food is very tasty! 10/10 would recommend!

Service and atmosphere were good. However, I got Thai boat noddles and it was too salty, I was able to eat not even a half of the food. I am not sure if I will be back

My waitress asked me how spicy I'd like my dish, which every Thai restraunt does, however Sara's kitchen actually listened when I asked to make it spicy. I really enjoyed my dish and I look forward to my next visit

I will not be ordering from here again. The food was not good. Crispy wontons we’re doughy and cold. The yellow curry was pure liquid- might as well have been water. There was 0 consistency. The “Tom Kha” had no flavor and was essentially JUST coconut milk. The spices completely missed the mark, this was not Thai food. The only saving grace is that the portions were generous, but at $80 for 2 entrees and a soup it better be…

Wow- spent $80 for take-out for two people and the amount of food received looked like $40 worth. Can't speak for portion size if doing dine-in, but I hope it's a lot more. As far as taste and temperature of food, we felt it was mediocre at best. Which is a bummer, because we used to order from Sara Thai at their old location and our experiences there was 5-star in both price and taste.

Ordered many items and got home to find one of the appetizers missing. Called them back and they accuse me of lying. Very insulting. Ordered over $130 worth of food but they accuse me lying over an appetizer. Food was decent but would not return because of how I was treated.

I was absolutely blown away by this restaurant! Our server, Veronica, was the most lovely and sweet lady. She was very accommodating, very attentive and very charming. The food was to die for and she even brought out some extra spice for us to add if it wasn’t spicy enough (we love spicy food). 10/10, above and beyond! Will return again!!

I love Sarah Thai Kitchen on State Street. Now that they have one in Sugar House. I love them even more. It's closer! Food is great. I usually get the egg plants stir fry. That's my go-to meal when I am in a Thai restaurant. It's our default Thai restaurant if my one of us doesn't feel like cooking.

This place is a total gem! First off it is ABSOLUTELY IMMACULATELY CLEAN. It is so rare to be handed a condiment carrier and it is sparkling and spotless. And the food was so fresh and deliciously seasoned. I ordered at heat level 3 and loved its rather ferocious bite. I ordered the Masaman curry and the flavor is so rich and luxuriant with surprises of Raisins and chestnuts. You can even order brown rice. A total win with their ultra luxuriant fried tofu. I also ordered the green papaya salad and it was super cool and refreshing but at 3 spice it had a pleasant numbing heat that kept me going back for more. I even added some of the fresh peppers in oil from the condiment trolley to really test my heat limits. I finished with a mango sticky rice which is 100% dependant on the ripeness and quality of mango. It was so soft and fragrant...totally sublime over the dense chewy sticky rice drizzled with coconut milk. Helpful hint, order this dessert to be served with the meal, it is a nice reprieve to quench the fire. Sara Thai...you NAILED it and my lips are still pink. Even the garnishes were elegantly rendered and beautifully plated.

Excellent lunch at Sara Thai today! Restaurant is light and cheery, very clean. Best Thai food I have had in SLC. Large portions, lots of vegetables and beautiful shrimp in the dishes we chose. I will definitely return, hopefully soon!

Let me by saying that The service here was above and beyond. That's to say nothing of the incredible food. Chicken Massaman was outstanding. Chicken lollipops are incredible. Please eat these. First time eating here based on reviews and didn't disappoint. Will be back again and again.

Throughout my life, I have had a very bland palate. I tried Sara Thai Kitchen for the first time on Sunday 3/30/24 and I LOVED IT!!! I had sweet and sour vegetables and they were so fresh and delicious. For dessert we had Mango Sticky Rice and it is now my favourite treat ever. I went back yesterday already!
The staff is excellent, I spoke with the Chef for a moment and he was very friendly! Highly recommend!!

Sara Thai is AMAZING! I love the people that work here so much… They are so kind and authentic in every interaction. The food is beyond amazing and the ambience will have you feeling like you’re in Thailand! I highly recommend it here. Everything is so affordable. The food was some of the best Thai I’ve ever had!! If you like Thai you need to try this place. The lollipops and mango sticky rice were my favorite!

Dined in with a group of friends - first time here for all of us, and we loved it. We ordered the fried tofu, Thai curry puffs, and chicken lollipops as appetizers. Everything was great.

Entree highlights were the pad kee mao, pad thai, massaman curry, and the Tom kha soup.

Also have to say that the service was amazing! Our group had some dietary restrictions (vegetarian and gluten-free), and the server checked with the cooks about the ingredients for each dish we asked about ordering. They even offered to change the recipe (when possible) to accommodate our diet. We were very appreciative!

Wife and I went here for lunch and everything was absolutely delicious. Genuinely the type of meal where you were going “man, this is so good” between every bite. I drove up from Provo just for the food and would drive twice as far.

Every dish we ordered was beyond delicious and so wonderfully done. Meals are family sized. The staff is so kind and friendly. We fell in love with their hospitality. They have vegan options that I am excited to try the next time - this time around, I found the papaya salad and mango sticky rice delightful.

Their Thai spring rolls are beautifully light and crisp. The fresh ginger appetizer with pork is brilliant. Love, love, love the papaya salad - we ordered the medium spicy version. The crab fried rice is fancy and pretty, and so generous in its quantity and chunks of crab. Their homemade chili oil makes everything delightful - it actually took the extra edge off the medium spicy papaya salad. The Tom Kha Gai soup is a whole tableside experience that ends with beautiful soup. The mango sticky rice with coconut cream and a whole mango sliced atop it is so beautiful, and a perfect way to finish any meal.

The place is ADA friendly - the lights are not at all painfully bright - just right, the tables were reasonably filled at lunch, and it was not noisy. The wheelchair entrance is on the street side and accessible from the parking lot and street. The parking lot side entrance has a step as you enter, so that's not the entrance to use with a wheelchair.

This place is a gem, and I am so happy we chose to go to lunch here today - one of the highlights of my week!
