Everything was super fresh and delicious. I ordered take out and everything was packed well as to not spill and it was super fast. I got the chicken fried rice and green curry dumplings and both were incredible! I also asked for some extra spice on the fried rice and they added the perfect amount. Great serving sizes too. I’ll definitely be back!
I ordered the drunken noodles today and they were amazing. This was my first time trying drunken noodles and I can say that I'll be getting them again for sure. I ordered togo online and it said that with the lunch special you get an egg roll and a salad included with each entree. When I picked my food up and came home to eat it I did not recieve the egg roll or salad. I was a little confused as to if this is exclusive to dine in, however the menu does not specify. Overall the experience was good and my food was enjoyable, I was just slightly disappointed about not getting the additional items.
Oh my freak’n word! Get the Khao Soi. The curry is to die for and I would drink it as a soup any day.
This is a quaint and small local Thai restaurant but that doesn’t take way from the food.
We also had the egg rolls, and the Bamee Moo, and the Garlic Egg Noodles with tiger prawns. The curry was the best my far.
There was one waiter working his tail off but you should take your time and enjoy the atmosphere.
Parking is limited.
We went for a weekday dinner here. While we liked some items, others were not that good.
What I liked was drunken noodles and the garlic noodles with prawns.
The green and yellow curries were okay and in fact green color was borderline white and lacked taste.
Service is prompt.
I’ve tried the Pad See Ew here and I loved it. I find that it’s harder to find a Thai restaurant that does Pad See Ew really well but Ekamai did a great job. The sauce was rich in flavor, the beef was cooked well, and the greens were still crunchy in the best way possible.
I also had the chicken and fried rice and I was a little underwhelmed with this dish. It didn’t feel as authentic as far as Thai food goes and there were huge chunks/slices of onion throughout the dish and I didn’t love that.
The spring rolls we had as an appetizer were average, nothing to scream or brag about.
The service was good and for a Friday night, we didn’t have to wait.
Super yummy and the staff were so kind!
Great food and great people.
The food is delicious
The kitchen and front house staff are all very kind and I highly recommend everyone give it a try!
Delicious, fresh, crafted ingredients and dishes. Service was friendly and professional and patient. Highly recommend, we’ll be going back for sure.

I really used to love to come here, I probably did once a week before they shut down for the renovation. But they changed the Khao Soi recipe and it’s not nearly as good :/
Ordered through Door Dash, but they made my dasher wait for 45 minutes. So frustrating. It is not busy and does not take that long ti make drunken noodles. Will never order from them again.
This is my favorite Thai restaurant ever! Since they have been temporarily closed I have been forced to try other places but none of them even come close to ekamai! I jog by everyday hoping they will be open again… does anyone know when they will reopen?? Warm Thai food is a winter necessity!
Ekamai Thai is hands down my favorite Thai food in Salt Lake City! The Khao Soi is my favorite dish of all time and I really hope they open again soon❤️ I miss you guys
Ekamai is by far my favorite Thai place in all of Utah! I really hope they open back up soon!!!! 💗
This place shows open on Google but actually closed for renovation. Wasted trip to this restaurant. 🤦🏿
It's a small place but the food is delicious and the services is super fast.
Great staff and great food! Pad see ew is my favorite!
boyfriend works here, such cute restaurant, nice employees, YUMMYYY food. 10/10🌟🌟⭐️🥟😊😊😊😊
Wonderful pad thai!
Feels very authentic!
Great music playing throughout!
Such a lovely family owned business with excellent food and service. The green curry was wonderful, the best I've had in SLC.
Outdoor patio seating was nice, great deal for lunch!
Pork was not edible but they said that’s how it’s supposed to be when we asked.
YUM love this place and their vegan drunken noodles. YUM.
This is one of my favorite spots! So quick and so delicious, the staff is super kind, the restaurant is comfortable and clean. I always order vegetarian, they have several options that are all very tasty. Highly recommend!
The food is always good!
Super delicious thank you
We love Ekamai. Very friendly for gluten-free eating - we love that they are so fluent in this and can make almost anything on the menu gf. In addition, the staff is friendly, the service is great, the food is good, the portions and prices are very good. It's casual - nothing fancy, but a nice place to eat. In addition there is an outdoor patio & they even let our dog sit with us during dinner on the patio one evening. We're pretty loyal to Ekamai for Thai food in Salt Lake.
We called in an order and picked it up. Nothing we ordered was good. In particular, the fish cakes were disgustingly chewy and greasy. The teriyaki chicken tasted like a cheap rotisserie chicken that had been shredded and left to dry out, and then soaked in an overly sweet bottled teriyaki sauce. The spring rolls were mediocre - didn’t see any shrimp in them. The only thing that was remotely nice was the peanut sauce. This place is overly expensive, especially considering the poor quality of the food. We have had better meals from Panda Express. Never again!
The spring rolls are my favorite
Great service, great food, easy parking, and a chill vibe. Have visited here several times and never been disappointed.
Everything is good but the Thai fried rice is superb.
Delicious red curry. Cozy place.
My favorite Thai food in salt lake!
The service was fast, the food was wonderful, and our server was great to let us know what was and wasn’t in season on the menu! Highly recommend this place! I got the masaman curry and the crispy chicken fried rice.
Oh my freak’n word! Get the Khao Soi. The curry is to die for and I would drink it as a soup any day.

First time here last night and the service was quick! The food was amazing! We are going again tomorrow
Ekamai is my new favorite Thai restaurant. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. It's my go-to for work lunches.
Comida exelente y la atención también
Food is always amazing. This is one of my two go to places. This one has the best pad Thai! It had a lot of flavor and isn’t dry like some. They are always friendly even if it’s almost closing. Love the curries as well.
Everything was super fresh and delicious. I ordered take out and everything was packed well as to not spill and it was super fast. I got the chicken fried rice and green curry dumplings and both were incredible! I also asked for some extra spice on the fried rice and they added the perfect amount. Great serving sizes too. We ordered food for my Dad's birthday. It was a big order. Everything we ordered was fantastic. Everyone loved the food. They supplied everything we needed and there was more than enough food to feed everyone.
They were very friendly. And helpful. We will definitely be ordering from here again. Side note. We have some gluten free people and there were plenty of options for us to choose from.
It is very good food and everyone is very nice.
one of my fav places to frequent! their thai ice tea is my favorite. i always go for the spicy fried rice and it’s always so good!
great customer service! the restaurant itself has a cool interior and the food is always delicious. highly recommend! 5 stars!
Ordered spice level 3/5 I swear that no spices were ever introduced to our entrees.
Too pricey for what it is.
Super chill place with nice, friendly staff. Food is great! Im coming back
We enjoyed this small restaurant in an intimate setting. They have street parking. The Pad Thai was made very fresh as was the mango and sticky rice dessert. The service was good and friendly. Next time, I will try the thai tea.
Very good food in a quiet and pleasant atmosphere for a very good price.
We loved the food! We got take out so I can't comment on the service and atmosphere. But we asked for everything to be made vegan, and it was not a problem. Will be coming back!
Their spicy fried rice is the best fried rice I've ever tasted!!
Very good! Came in with a friend for dinner. I had the massaman curry with Steamed tofu, and she the river beef plate. The beef wasn't great. Very chewy, unfortunately. :-/ But my curry was fantastic, so maybe stick to the classics 😅. Service was a little slow, but they may have been down a person. I'm unsure. Either way, go for the curry. Recommended!
Five stars for sure but I thought the Mango sticky rice sauce was a little salty which I wasn't expecting. We will be back to try more soon. Loved it!
I love Thai Food and I am often experimenting with what's around. First time in, I tried the drunken noodles from the lunch menu. It was fantastic! I noticed that they have (REAL) crab fried rice on their menu which is rare and got it TOGO the very next day. Hands down one of the best Crab Fried Rice I have ever had. Everything about it was perfect - softness of the rice, flavor, the egg, the crab meat and the presentation! Kiruthika, the waitress offers a very warm service!
Absolutely delicious!
So disappointing. This is some of the most uninteresting, bland, and boring Thai food I've ever had. The Tom kha was coconut milk, entire giant quarters of unripe tomato, and standard white mushrooms. Nothing more. The other dishes were similarly uninspired. I don't know what happened to this place.
Adding this to my solid go-tos, very flavorful and very comforting. Khao soi is my new favorite dish.
The food was really good! I recommend it to people who love spicy food. It’s very flavorful.
Great Thai food in SLC! Did not dine in, but this authentic family spot is delicious! Looking forward to going back and trying more.
Very rude and Horrible customer service. Hung up on me twice, while trying to place an order.
Incredible food and they were so kind when I goofed up on what time I was picking up my order. Good flavor, and mild is legitimately mild, and they can spice it up too. Will absolutely come again.
Authentic Thai food. Very recommended to all who seeks real thai flavour. You will not be disappointed. I am Thai who travel from Colorado to Utah. I could say this is one of the best Thai food I ever had in a long time. ❤️
Very nice. Friendly service and the food was excellent!
I’ve lived in SLC for almost 4 years now. Moved from the Vegas area where the Thai food is phenomenal. I tried 3 different Thai restaurants when I first moved here and all of them were okay - they lacked the strong Thai flavors that I was used to so I gave up. I finally decided to give Ekemai a try and ooooooooh my goodness, so glad I did! Their Drunken Noodle tasted like the Thai I’d grown to love in LV - strong umami flavor with a hint of sweetness, rice noodles cooked to perfection, tofu fried just right so it was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Absolutely wonderful - and the best part is that their entree options can be made vegan/vegetarian (I got this vegan)! Bonus that the service was prompt and friendly, and the ambience was cozy. Definitely give this place a try next time you’re craving Thai!
We ate here for dinner and started with the cream cheese wontons which were delicious! I also ordered a Thai tea which I loved :) my husband and I then ordered & split the cashew nut wok and the pineapple curry. We didn’t love the cashew meal. We finished it but it wasn’t our favorite. And pineapple curry was def worth ordering again though! Especially with the basil in there. We loved the whole meal. Will definitely be back!
Lady on the phone wouldn’t deliver 5.4 miles away gimme a break
Amazing food. Red curry with tofu is delicious.
Absolutely phenomenal massaman curry and cream cheese wontons. Hands down my favorite place to eat.
Great food and quick service! Had the drunken noodle and tom kha and both were excellent.
One of my favorite Thai restaurants in Salt Lake City! I’ve dined in and ordered takeout from Ekamai countless times. The service is always wonderful, the food is delicious, and portions are large. They have a great selection on their menu, we’ve tried a variety of items and they’ve all been amazing!
Wife and I moved to SLC a few years ago and tried several different highly rated Thai restaurants in the area; we were repeatedly disappointed to the extent that we just gave up on Thai food in Salt Lake. We stopped eating it altogether for a couple years. We tried to get Italian tonight and after going to three different Italian restaurants, each having an hour wait, we gave up on that and tried Ekamai since we hadn’t been there yet and it had been so long since we had good Thai food. We were both very happy to finally find a good Thai restaurant in SLC! Both the food and service were great. We’ll be back! Thai food is finally back in our rotation in SLC.
Yummy food and friendly people. I love this place. They open early on Saturdays unlike many other Thai restaurants in town
Drunken noodles was bland. Ordered it spicy and had no spice. Portion was great. Will definitely give it another shot and order other things on their menu. Usually when I crave Thai food I want the real Thai SPICE, so that was really the only disappointing thing.
Was so good. Got the chicken fried rice off the lunch menu. Came with a salad that was delicious. You can also add other options, I chose three potstickers for $3. Can’t wait to go back!
I have been loyal to ekamai for years now as a born and raised Utahn, but i’m really disappointed in them. The quality has slowly gone down down down and I’ve given them chances but this is the final straw. On the left is one order or yellow curry from about three months ago, on the right is the portion I got tonight. On top of that the thai iced teas were all ice with a tiny bit of drink and not even filled to the top. While their yellow curry is delicious, it’s ridiculously overpriced and it’s obvious they are trying to skimp out on you.
We went for a weekday dinner here. While we liked some items, others were not that good.
What I liked was drunken noodles and the garlic noodles with prawns.
The green and yellow curries were okay and in fact green color was borderline white and lacked taste.
Service is prompt.
Good food, great red curry!
Wonderful funky little place with amazing aromas, exquisite food, and remarkable patient and knowledgeable and patient servers.
There is no doubt this restaurant is fantastic, I enjoy the best food and attention provided.
My husband and I are regular customers here and we have loved every single dish! Even the rice is wonderful. I love that they have such good brown rice and feel like I can still eat healthy while eating out. Also, they are always so sweet in their service and kind. You will never be disappointed 🥰
Great food, however, we got there before closing time (25 min before or so) and they would not let us sit, but only get takeout. A little strange for a restaurant.
The food was good. They got our order right. Just not kid friendly.
Best Thia in SLC. ❤️❤️
My favorite Thai place in Utah!
I can’t rate 6 stars. Best curry I’ve had in my life. 🤤🤤
Smelled weird upon entry.
Fantastic place with drunken noodles. One bad thing though the stairs to the restaurant need safety railings.
Lovely place with great food! Made for a very pleasant night out. I HIGHLY recommend the Khao Soi!
This place is bad from A to Z , bad smell like inside very dirty all over add to it food which was no words can explain , tom kha or whatever you call was nothing more than grey sugar sweet liquid with cheap and most likely old chicken with tomato just cut on four and thrown alongside with mushrooms and I can continue ,but it’s pointless because if owners can’t see it nothing will help .
We love their Tom kha soup! Super convenient after a stroll/run through Sugarhouse Park.
always tasty and friendly! One of my favorites in town.
Picked up an order and the service was fast and friendly. Love the food, location and price. Def a place to check out!
Cute spot with friendly staff! The food was good, yet lacked some flavor. I'll go back and try the drunken noodles and thai tea, accidentally ordered thai coffee. Take out order of pad thai had a hearty portion, but the yellow curry did not come with enough rice.
The service was great, but I have had better Thai food. Flavors weren't very good, underwhelmed. I am not eager to go back, but food was alright.
Awesome Thai food. You won't be disappointed. Curry to die for!
Used to have great food but this last time it was not good. We ordered the Pad Thai and it tasted like lightly flavored noodles. Not spicy and very very little flavor if any at all. So disappointed and unlikely to go here again until they’ve stopped skimping on the ingredients. We ended up throwing over half of it away because it was honestly mostly noodles that tasted like nothing.
Great food!
My favorite Thai restaurant. The food is so good!!
Great food, always love coming here for lunch. The Drunken Noodles have always been on point, as well as the curry! Service has always been great as well, can't complain. Will continue going whenever the hankering for Thai happens.
Couldn’t believe this place was empty. The food was fabulous. My hubby had spicy fried rice and I had red curry. Loved it and felt great after.
Flavorless
Take out service was good.
I haven't been there in about 3 or 4 years - since before the pandemic. And boy has it gone down hill. I should have known given the fact there were only 2 other people in the restaurant at lunch time in a busy area.
I ordered the Tom Kha soup with chicken and Pad Kring lunch special which comes with a salad.
The salad was barely 6 bites of iceberg lettuce on a tiny plate drowned in sesame dressing. But it tasted good so I ate it. Just shook off some of the dressing onto the plate.
The soup: the sliced mushrooms were obviously old. You know how they get brown and the edges get shriveled after a few days of being cut? Like REALLY brown and hard edges? Yeah - even being in hot soup couldn't soften the edges. I tried the chicken and it tasted "off". Tried one more bite to be sure and yeah, it was not tasting right. So I didn't eat it. When the waitress brought my main dish I told her that the mushrooms were old and the chicken was off. She took it away and said she would have a new one made.
I began to eat my Pra Kring - I don't know if that chicken was off because it was so spicy it covered any taste, but I like spicy and the flavor was good so I ate it.
She came back with a new bowl of soup while I was eating. Same mushrooms as before but the chicken tasted OK this time. I ate it because the broth tasted good, just left the mushrooms in the bowl.
About 1/2 hour later my stomach started feeling not right. I felt queasy for the next 3 or 4 hours - skipped dinner because of it. I never actually got sick, but I was fighting it for sure. Never ate anything else that night actually - my stomach started turning even thinking of eating anything.
I won't be back. There's so much GOOD Thai in the valley, I'm really disappointed - they used to be one of those good places.
P.S. I will say, she gave me 15% off because of the soup being bad - and it wasn't her fault so I tipped her well - but I won't be back.
For the current ratings and a large city like SLC I expected more... my Thai place back home is way better. I had the Pad Thai, it was dry, just warm and not very tasty. If most of these reviews are local I get it, but for most "out of towners" this place will likely be a disappointment
Delicious Thai food. Great service. Good prices.
What a wonderful experience. The service was phenomenal. Friendly and polite staff. The puff pastry with curry was delicious and the yellow curry with shrimp was by far the best I've ever had. The shrimp had so thoughrouhgly smoked up the curry flavor that I was beyond impressed. Hopefully they get their alcohol license soon, either way I'll definitely be back.
Another great Thai place!! Will be back next time we’re in the area!!
Excellent food, good service.
Found a SCREW on my pad thai that almost broke my tooth and still had to pay for the bill. Plus, the shrimp spring roll was poorly wrapped, very loose.
We loved our first experience at Ekamai a few months ago with one of our sons. Last night we went again excited for a delicious meal. We ordered the Thai puffs we had been looking forward to trying but when they came, they were hot on the outside but still frozen on the inside. Our waitress then brought our main course which was the Drunken Noodles and Yellow Curry and took the plate of appetizers to have done over. In the meantime we ran out of rice because they only give you a small scoop with the yellow curry and you definitely need 2 to 3 scoops. When we were more than half way finished with dinner and it was cooling, she brought more rice along with the appetizers. I wish we had just canceled them because an appetizer should be enjoyed before the main course, not when you’re almost finished eating!
When we received our bill, not only had the appetizers not been comped, which I believe should have been, we had also been charged $2.00 for the extra scoop of rice, which is complimentary and part of the curry meal. Crazy. Our waitresses were very nice but the common sense management and customer service is lacking. It was also too busy to bring up these issues which is why we didn’t.
Not sure if we’ll go again which is sad because we love the food but at those prices there are plenty of other Thai options.
I’ve never went out of my way to review a restaurant and I have compassion for maybe loosing that “spark” during the pandemic but my spare ribs in the Massamun were absolutely Disgusting!! Rarely do I get the opportunity to splurge on $20 curry and I can’t believe the over cooked, dry & hard the meat they sent! It’s uneatable and I have some low standards for food.
This dish was my absolute FAVORITE 5+ years ago, shame.
Delicious!!!
Awesome spot for thai cuisine!Great specials for a quick lunch or sit and enjoy the views from the patio.. Whether Vegetarian or omnivore you will love this place!
Delicious Thai food! My boyfriend and I each had an entree and we were so full we got dessert (sticky rice and mango) to go. Highly recommend.
Best Thai in the area for Gluten Free and just in general. The people running and working this restaurant are so nice, very accommodating, and just generally a pleasure to interact with. Picked up food many times from Ekamai and I've only had great experiences.
The Khao Soi is my all time favorite curry dish! I crave it weekly. Tried the Curry Dumplings for the first time and they are fantastic. I will definitely be ordering them again.
Ordered takeout here tonight. I don't know if they got a new cook or changed their recipes compared to prior posts but this was by far the worst thai food I've ever had. Got some noodle stir fry dishes and they didn't taste like anything- just mildly like sugar. Pictures from other posts look significantly different than what I ate. Just a pale pile of noodles with barely any sauce.
Ten people ordered a large lunch menu order, was missing an entire lunch box. When I called the restaurant to tell them, they spent fifteen minutes telling me that they counted them and there should be the right amount. Will never go there again, one for the terrible service and two for the terrible food. I've never tasted a massaman curry that only tasted of coconut milk, with huge chunks of potatoes that weren't cooked enough and chunks of silken tofu that didn't appear to be cooked. Yuck. If I could put zero stars I would.
Best Thai food I’ve ever had in Utah. Are they still in business? I thought I saw the downtown location closed 🤔
The food is ok but the customer service is lacking! They got our order wrong, despite reading it back, and made us bring everything back. I didn’t mind bringing back so much, since I definitely wasn’t going to eat it, but they just gave us back the same rice. So our rice is cold and hard and has been touched by who knows how many people! Um no!!!
Best Thai I've had. Food was literally bursting with flavor. We had the coconut shrimp, cream cheese wontons, and three different curries and they were all unbelievably flavorful. My favorite was the Maassaman but alone any of them could have been the best thing I'd eaten in a long time. Well definitely be back!
I highly recommend this place. It is easy to order online for pickup, and ANY entrée can be made vegan. NO WHERE else in Salt Lake has this many vegan options. I am a loyal customer. They take my dietary restrictions very seriously. Would highly recommend.
I've never had curry as consistent and tasty as this place. I love getting it to-go and eating it at sugar house park while I buy Doge coins and $GME.
Best curry in SLC. I like the pumpkin curry with steamed tofu.
The pumpkin curry is a revelation!!! So freaking good and close to home.
I love Ekamai. I get their curry every time. Specifically, their green curry. They put TONS of veggies in it and their brown rice makes me feel like it’s a little healthier option. Not to mention the taste! Delicious! I haven’t branched out of their curries, so can’t speak to the other dishes but they have a huge variety!
Amazing Thai food. Everything here is delicious. Great takeout system during COVID!
I ordered takeout this evening and it was terrible! Maybe the dining in produced better food, but what was delivered to me at home was bad. I ordered Curry Dumplings, Drunken Noodles and Pad Thai. The dumplings were falling to pieces, and the Pad Thai seemed drenched in stale paprika. I would not recommend.
Overall it was a good experience. We ordered takeout and it took about 30 min before it was ready. We ordered the drunken noodles and green curry. Green curry was amazing, but the drunken noodles had really mushy/overcooked noodles. Tasted great, but noodles were a big downside. Definitely want to try more from Ekamai!
My favorite, we love their food.
Only take out.. food was delicious
Their curry was good until i found what looked like a blonde pubic hair in my food. Needless to say, I'll never go back.
I've missed the Drunken Noodles at their SLCC Taylorsville location and had to make a special trip to get it today in Sugar House since they are so good!
Great Thai food in the Sugar house area of SLC. Great view of the park from the outdoor seating.
Cozy place with yummy food.
I will definitely be coming back, really good food and great service .
I had the pumpkin Curry. I am normaly not a fan of pumpkin flavored stuff but I took a chance and it paid off. It was excellent! The rest of my group was very happy with everything they ordered.
Great food had one of the noodle dishes. They were able to make it GF.
Asked my girlfriend where do you want to get dinner and she actually said " ekamai thai".... just think about that, this place is that good!
