Traditional & modern Thai food is served in a cozy, turquoise-hued space with an upbeat vibe.
Our dine-in experience at Oceanic was pleasant and refreshing. The food tasted fresh and was flavorful. The only concern is the portion size, the amount of food and meat could be more for the price. We ordered egg rolls/spring rolls, which was crispy and delicious. The crab meat fried rice is worth trying. The crispy friend chicken with garlic fried rice was good. The chicken Panang curry was a bit watery & has less meat but tasted good. Finally the coconut lychee ice cream was unique and presented well. The service was quick and the place was clean. Would definitely recommend giving this place a try.
We love this restaurant! The atmosphere is great, the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. Most importantly, the food is AMAZING. I love the red Thai curry - the spice is perfect and the ratio of meat/rice/vegetables was just right. I've now tried a few different things (egg rolls were perfection as well) and can't wait to come back. Quality.
Tried the tom yum soup, green papaya salad, and the pad see ew for lunch. The soup was very flavorful and was one of the better ones in the area. The see ew came with an egg roll and the dish was good overall. The stale peanuts unfortunately took away from the otherwise fresh and tasty papaya salad.
The service was very attentive and the portion/price were very reasonable.
Tried this restaurant for the first time. The “Crispy chicken with garlic fried rice” was super delicious. The smooth and mellow garlic flavored rice with well cooked crispy chicken tasted yummy. Also, the iced “Thai Tea” was one of the best I tried in a while.
Good service and great food!
I have been going to this place for years and they are consistently delicious! Cute interior and hot food with large portions. I was surprised that the coconut ice cream tasted salty which I didn’t particularly like, but my partner loved it, so I think it just depends on your taste!
Lunch on the weekdays also comes with a free egg roll.
Recommended so we stopped in and everything was incredible: yellow curry, bang bang shrimp, seafood avocado fried rice and a special that had ribeye with over fried rice and a delicious and spicy vinaigrette. Food was beautiful. Service was excellent. I was already planning my next visit mid meal.
The food is always amazing, this is by far my favorite restaurant! I am here every Friday as long as I’m not traveling 😁
The service is always great as well. The basil chicken wraps are a great appetizer and the sauce is wonderful. This is the only restaurant whose rice I will eat. It is sooooo good! The Basil fried rice is my favorite. All of their noodle dishes are also very good. The inside has just been redone and it looks great!
We had the Tom Yum soup, coconut noodle soup, and drunken noodles—everything was absolutely delicious! We loved every bite, and even my 5-year-old enjoyed the food, which says a lot. I’m so glad we found this place; it’s definitely our new go-to spot. The service was excellent as well. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience! 😊😊
Never. Coming. Back. One single entree of Drunken Noodles with NO meat was $18.00 with tax. That's nearly $20.00 for a small entree of rice noodles, GMO vegetables, and inorganic, cheap eggs. Why take the risk of eating that crap? They are poor quality rice noodles, Google to learn how unhealthy rice noodles are, in fact. There are far better restaurants in the area to enjoy. I don't mind spending money on good, quality food. I just don't like cheap ingredients with high prices. Absurd. Be smart with your money, folks!
Oceanic Thai Kitchen in Plano is a hidden gem with incredible flavors and warm hospitality. The Pad Thai and Green Curry are must-tries, bursting with authentic taste. The cozy ambiance and friendly staff make dining here a pleasure. A perfect spot for a delicious, satisfying Thai meal. Highly recommended!

Delicious. Friendly staff. Easy ordering. Thank you
I really can’t say enough good things about this place. Food is incredible every single time and we have been eating here weekly for 4 or 5 years. I have tried nearly every single Thai place in Plano and this one is the best. It has become that restaurant that I take friends and family to that they ask to come back to over and over again.
Our favorites are the peanut chicken, the pineapple fried rice, tiger fried rice, yellow curry, avocado curry and the sea bass.
Cute little restaurant with great service!
The food is very good. One of the best Thai places in the city. Always hot and spices are delicious. Definitely recommend.
This was our first time here, and we were pleasantly surprised. It's a nice little restaurant with great tasting food. The service was perfect. Highly recommend, and we will be back.
Came in at 8:55pm…. Restaurant says you close at 9:30pm and you serve very quickly. Turned away on 12/24. Disappointing.

Tom kha soup was delicious. I like the type of pork they use. I also inhaled the turmeric noodles in record-breaking speed. this is one of the better Thai restaurants in DFW.
Really loved the garlic rice with chicken but pad Thai was mehhh.
Discovered this gem during Covid and now it's my go-to for Thai take-out! The green curry or pad Thai are my favorite dishes but their entire appetizers list is also great. Food is always consistent, delicious, hot, and quick.
We dine out a lot, and this Thai food was fabulous. It was fresh. The broth was delicious. The mushrooms were crisp and delicious everything about it was good.
The larb gai was also fabulous, but the Tom Kai soup was perfect
Small restaurant in a strip mall. Restaurant is clean as are the restrooms. Food was good and the quantity was fair for the price. Service was fast even though the place was busy. Staff was pleasant and attentive. Recommend.
Update, service was excellent and so was the food. Highly recommend.

Our whole family went got dinner tonight and had a great experience. The food was all delicious. The service was great. Very quick and very clean. Highly recommend!
The staff forced us to give her a tip.
Extremely unprofessional of her.
A tip is voluntary not mandatory
THE YELLOW CURRY IS AMAZING!! They have definitely renovated over the last few years. It has elevated the atmosphere. The service was EXCELLENT AND SPEEDY even after coming in 30 minutes before their lunch break. Ordered, got food, and finished eating by 2:45. I get yellow curry everywhere that I try and this place has the BEST yellow curry that I’ve ever had. It is very clean and the price is not bad for how great it is.

Good service and great food!
Egg rolls were soggy, tasted like they were microwaved. Fried rice was chewy and bland.
I have been going to this place for years and they are consistently delicious! Cute interior and hot food with large portions. I was surprised that the coconut ice cream tasted salty which I didn’t particularly like, but my partner loved it, so I think it just depends on your taste!

This Thai restaurant offers an impressive range of vegetarian and vegan options, with the kitchen being very accommodating to special requests. The food, while flavorful, is milder than you'd expect from authentic Thai cuisine. Service, though friendly, can be a bit amateurish. On the plus side, the bathrooms are clean and well-maintained. Prices are reasonable, making it a good value overall, especially for those seeking plant-based options.
We love this restaurant! The atmosphere is great, the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. Most importantly, the food is AMAZING. Years ago I ordered the Pad See Ew with shrimp, which is my go to Thai dish, and felt that there was a very fishy aftertaste to the whole dish.
Decided to try it again recently and this time got Pad Thai with shrimp. Unfortunately it wasn’t exactly what I had hoped it would be. There was way too much tamarind paste/sauce and it was overwhelming. And again, I kept tasting a fishy aftertaste with the shrimp. But I ended things on a sweet note with the Coconut ice cream, which was delicious! I only wished the coconut shell hadn’t been frozen so I could enjoy chunks of coconut with it.
Not sure if I’ll be back. But the service was excellent!
I love the food here. It's my go to when I am craving Thai food. I usually order the Basil Chicken Wrapped or the Crispy Calamari as an appetizer. Then depending on what I am craving, I will order one of the curries, noodles, or one of the fried rices. I like them all! The soup is really good too. The service has always been superb as well.
Wonderful find! Fresh and great tasting food, amazing menu, clean and friendly service.
Probably the best Thai place I've been to in the area. We got the turmeric noodles and the panang curry. Both were delicious. Dine in and takeout services are both quick.
Excellent flavor and quality. The level 3 was spicy, but it was a good burn. Definitely on the list foot another visit.
Cute place, quick service, and delicious massaman curry with good spice.
I order to go often. Food is SO good
We were excited to try some of the specials like the shrimp curry in coconut or duck curry but unfortunately they don't have those anymore. We ended up getting the papaya salad, massaman curry, and khao soi.
It was pretty solid. The papaya salad tasted very fresh. The curry was flavorful but the beef was chewy and they do upcharge for it. The khao soi was a little disappointing. The noodles were overcooked, chicken was dry, and the red curry soup was more on the watery side and lacking flavor. The soup didn't really stick to the noodles so not as flavorful as I would've liked.
Beautiful interior but I'll probably wait until they have some other specials that are appeal to me before returning.
The food is always amazing, this is by far my favorite restaurant! I am here every Friday as long as I’m not traveling 😁

The Basil fried rice is my favorite. All of their noodle dishes are also very good. The inside has just been redone and it looks great!
Tried this place for lunch one day. They offer a lunch special which is an egg roll with an order of an entree. I got the green curry as I like to try green curry at every Thai place I try. The curry was okay, on the sweeter side. I don't like places that make their dishes noticeably sweet.
The portion was a lot for me. The restaurant was nice and service was great food came out quick.
My rating is mainly due to the food not being my preference/taste, but I would encourage anyone to check it out if you prefer Thai food on the sweet end.
Great food and service!
Delicious
Very friendly service. Was pleased to see itmes on the menu different from other Thai restaurants. The food was beautiful and full of flavor.
Always professional and quick with to-go orders! Food is tasty.
Friday evening date night with the wife. Very clean, the menus are extremely easy to understand and very well crafted. She had the pad Thai, I had the pad Si Ew with beef. Would definitely go back try a few more the appetizers in the future. She really liked the curry puffs. The bang bang shrimp was interesting. Crispy thin noodles fried and wrapped around a shrimp.
Restaurant is atmosphere was nice and a place I would go for a nice date. Service was good, but they forgot my sticky rice add-on, as well as brought out the wrong dish. The Thai beef jerky appetizer was delicious. The basil chicken was flavorful. The chicken larb was not as flavorful and balanced. The sticky rice and mango was delicious and the mango was ripe.
Love this place!! Great food. Love the staff and atmosphere!!! Love coming here!!
I ordered basil rice to go. It was delicious! Best I've ever had.
Absolutely amazing food, atmosphere, and service. I can’t wait to come back. I 10/10 recommend this place and will be telling all my friends and family!!
Recently came in with a friend who knew the staff. I figured the food was good if he liked it but now my biggest problem is that this place is far from my house and all other Thai restaurants near me are ruined.
The beef jerky was tender and flavorful, calamari perfectly cooked and not rubbery. The pad kee mow was the best I've ever had; delicious sauce but not greasy, fresh noodles and vegetables, juicy tender chicken. It's probably 40 minutes from my house, what am I supposed to do NOW?
Seriously though, best Thai food of my life. And their heat scale is accurate, all other Lv5 Thai Heat are lies compared to this.
How fabulous is the food!! Thought we’d found another place for curry. Then a friend introduced us to Oceanic…SOLD!! Prices are reasonable, waiter couldn’t do enough for us. The restaurant has that strip mall feel inside. But, everyone on staff is incredible. Once you have gone there with friends, you’ll take your spouse. You will also tell your friends! Every moment spent here is nirvana. Plus you can take your doggie bag and be ready for lunch tomorrow. If you’re ready for some great authentic Thai food…you’ve made a great choice! (Note: no brown rice)!
Went there without much expectation but they surprised us. Good food and good ambiance
Our first visit and didn't disappoint, highly recommended. Everything we had were very tasty especially the Khao Soi and all their homemade desserts. The service and atmosphere were great too 👍 Will definitely come back. Thank you
We loved everything we ordered. Their fall special shrimp coconut curry was beautifully served in a coconut and it was absolutely delicious. We also ordered the coconut ice cream plus a side of coconut sticky rice for dessert and eating these two together was one of the best desserts I’ve had in a long time. Can’t wait to go back and try other dishes!
Customer service is amazing, great attitudes and don’t hesitate to accommodate. Food speaks for itself order and find out
Nestled in the heart of Plano, Oceanic Thai tantalizes taste buds with a symphony of flavors that transport diners to the bustling streets of Bangkok. From the moment you step inside, the ambiance exudes energy, echoing the vibrant spirit of Thai culture. The cheerful decor and warm smiles from the staff set the stage for a culinary journey that promises to ignite the senses.
Every dish at Oceanic Thai is a masterpiece, crafted with passion and precision. The Pad Thai is a revelation, with each bite delivering a perfect balance of sweet, sour, and savory notes that dance on the palate. The Tom Yum Soup bursts with zesty lemongrass and fiery chili, awakening the taste buds with a euphoric kick.
But it's not just about the food; it's the experience. The staff's genuine enthusiasm and dedication to customer satisfaction infuse the dining room with an infectious happiness that's impossible to resist. Whether you're a seasoned Thai food aficionado or a newcomer to the cuisine, Oceanic Thai welcomes you with open arms and a menu guaranteed to spark joy.
In a culinary landscape often cluttered with mediocrity, Oceanic Thai shines as a beacon of excellence, proving that great food isn't just about sustenance—it's an expression of love, culture, and pure, unadulterated joy.
The atmosphere is fine. The place is clean and uncluttered. The service is friendly and kind. The food is a delight. I've had lunch here three times and loved it each time.
A good place to go to eat is excellent.
One of the best tasting Thai place in and around North Dallas area. The food is flavorful. Very friendly staff. Small and hygenic place.
The Tom yum soup was so good
Delish
Most times, I order takeout from this place. And that is once or twice a week at least.
Not once there has been an issue with the order, taste, quality, or quantity. And of course, it tastes great!
Delicious food, fast fast fast service, quiet and clean. Perfection!
Favorite Thai place in the area!!!! I usually do Takeout but the restaurant itself is always really clean, lots of seating and very friendly staff. Food comes out hot and consistently delicious! My favorites are the Crispy Chicken and Garlic Rice, the Khao Soi and the Drunken Noodles. Medium is my preferred level of spiciness, still has a good kick. Definitely check it out!!!
I love Thai food! Needless to say, I did live it!
Authentic Thai food. Friendly service and nice atmosphere to dine in. we enjoyed dinner
Staff was welcoming. Food was great, service was fast. Water was always refilled before needed (which was appreciated!). I got the Pad Si-Iw with tofu and loved it. Spice level was on point and prices were affordable. Would definitely come back.
Delicious food, fast service, and classy, yet quaint atmosphere
I really enjoyed having dinner at this place with a friend!
I have 3 top places I go for thai food and this is the one that has the best spicy eggplant. The green curry is also great. I used to live right around the corner and got take out multiple times a week from here. I order less because I moved across town but it never disappoints!
We had a large 14 person party last minute here unexpectedly. They were able to accommodate us with very little notice, and even with a small staff. Everyone enjoyed the food, and our waitresses was an absolute champ dealing with the chaos of our party and making sure everyone was happy. 10/10 recommend.
It was a change of restaurant for me and my best friend since we try and find new places whenever we're in Plano and she picked this one. I'd say, we're coming back for sure. She LOVED the crispy chicken and I loved the garlic fried rice. The crispy chicken in mine tasted a little dry, but the sauce was the greatest thing for it! Service was phenomenal, Kosin, our server, was very attentive and super sweet. She made the experience 100 times better. Worth the money and worth getting the garlic rice for sure. :)
My 9 yr old son's first Thai experience and LOVED it and I have to say the best curry I have had. Great service and clean.
Love the pad thai! Best around!
I love this place! I have Celiac Disease, which means I'm one of those "gluten-free" people. Oceanic Thai has gluten-free options on much of their menu - so good! When I order, Nat has my back!
Oh, and the food is delicious! (and close to where I work!)
I will definitely be coming back again and again!
Update:
I have always loved this place and I was finally able to bring my co-workers for our monthly team lunch. They were very pleased with the food and the service was superb! Nat greeted us and took very good care of us. I am so happy to have shared my favorite Thai restaurant and even happier that my boss loved it!
Thank you, Nat (and Jo Jo!). We will be back!
Very delicious 🤤😋
Panang curry and pad kee mao are 10/10 :D
I have been looking for Khao Soi for years! Top notch
EDIT: Oceanic Thai has new ownership. This quality of the food has unfortunately declined. I am revising my 5-star rating to 3-stars.
The best Thai restaurant in North Dallas!
My recommendations (we order this once a week!): peanut tofu; pad thai with chicken and extra sauce.
I have tried this place a couple of times, and although the food is good, it is not something to rave about. The meat was kind of tough to eat and chew. The customer service was alright. If I am in the area, sure I will eat here, but otherwise there are better places for thai food.
Not a place for the atmosphere, but definitely a place for good, hot, flavorful food and lots of it. You can also bring your own wine.
Good food, reasonable price.
Absolutely some of the best Thai I have ever had. Have been back last 3 weekends in a row. Still as good as the first time.
What a gem! Server was busy, but on top of it, and the food was amazing. We got the vegetable dumplings to start and they didn't disappoint. The filling was a bit sticky at first, but the flavor was wonderful, highly recommend.
I got a Mango lemonade and Pad Ki Mao w/ chicken to a 4 out of 5 on the heat index. I've never been a fan of mango, but this was a perfect balance and by the end I was craving more mango in my life. The flat noodles in the Pad Ki Mao were the biggest I've ever seen. At times this made fitting them in my mouth a challenge, but one I would gladly accept again because they held so much flavor. My only regret is having to go back to work, otherwise I would have ordered another plate and asked for more heat. This dish was wonderful and I would absolutely marry it if I were't in a committed relationship with the mother of my step children.
Go here.
Worse Thai I’ve had in a long time.
Mass produced stale smelling fish cakes, spring rolls with over cooked mush as a filling. Everything tasted and smelt off / stale apart from the satay which was ok.
Really poor
At this price point in this good of a location, this place is five stars. I've only been once on 12/13/2022. Here's the rundown:
- Food was perfect (not too sweet, not too salty). Tom Yum was too spicy but they graciously accommodated our complaint. They also accomodated our vegetarian / vegan diet (they have lots of veggie options).
- Service was almost perfect (very nice waitress who checked on us every few minutes which was very appreciated; ran low on water and didn't get a refill - we didn't ask for one either so idc tbh).
- The place is decently decorated (nice wall color and female buddha art) and seating is comfortable (plenty of one-sided booth options).
- 1 appetizer, 1 salad, 2 large soups, 1 entree ran us $70 total (tip included) for dinner. 2 male and 1 female adult were able to feel full after this amount.
- My favorites were the clear broth veggie soup with fried tofu and vegetables and the veggie dumplings.
- We will return!
Tried Oceanic tonight and wow! I knew it was going to be good when I walked in, but wow! And whatever you get, don't miss the ginger tea!
Best Tom Yum soup ever!! Large portions too, excited to try more of the menu!
Best fried rice I've had. Consistent quality and hearty portions.
Edit: The combination pad thai & ube beinets are amazing too.
Oh my what a surprise this place was. I drove right past it not seeing the small sign. Once I found it I had second thoughts but went inside anyway. So so glad we did! Coconut soup was amazing and the december red curry catfish was excellent! Service was ok. It seems to be only one guy seating and serving but wasn't a big issue. Definitely coming back here.
Consistently good Thai food. Staff is very nice and willing answer all your questions. They are willing to make substitutions fir me to change the type of noodle. Lots of veggies in the noodle dishes which I love. Only complaint is some of their iced teas are ghastly sweet for my taste. Order hotter than you would other places as mild is no heat. Definitely my go to Thai restaurant.
Very friendly and efficient service! To be honest, the mango lemonade is amazing but their food is good too! Love the decor and ambience.
The food was fantastic and I was very impressed. I will definitely come back!
Very well made healthy food..., EXCEPT for the salt/sodium is super strong. I've always thought if there's more than a little salt that it's cheating by the chef. So I have to call it out here.
It's good, and reasonably priced for good portions. But as all the items I had were very salty I'll have to limit my visits. (If you're young the salt is largely not so big of deal; although I think enticing tastebuds with heavy salt is a bit the cheating I mentioned. There's plenty of Asian restaurants that are not as salty and still quite good.
Great food at a fair price. I liked how several menu items were eligible for being made as vegan or vegetarian. The house soup was especially delicious. The place was very clean as well!
Lately, I feel like when I go out to eat I overpay compared to the quality of food I get. However, that is not the case here. The food is incredible, and they have plenty of vegan options with dishes labeled that can be easily modified to vegan.
Great food service and atmosphere. Will be eating there at least once a week every week
Service and ambiance are great
Portion sizes are very small, gave us like have the box, do not recommend
My son loves this place so the sibling and I joined him while we were visiting. The food is phenomenal. Everything I tasted was spot on. Pair that with friendly, fast service, and this is definitely a spot to revisit again and again. Especially since it was so hard to choose one thing to order when it all sounded good.
Thai iced coffee, vegetable dumplings, salad rolls, coconut shrimp, crab fried rice, and chicken with broccoli were all 5 star delicious.
Very bad experience, diarrhea after eating their food, I really hope they can compensate me for my health and mental loss, please avoid this restaurant for your health
Love that they have vegan options , Delicious vegan food! The garlic fried rice with crispy tofu is so good. I would recommend this to everyone 10/10 .
Worst customer service and they are very rude and arrogant. Don’t spoil your experience over here. Save your hard earned money. There are much better restaurants around in that area.
Food was decent, I did not really like it that much. I wouldn’t come back because the manager was not nice the waitress is the same and there is hair in the food and it’s so hot there! When we complained about those things the manager looked at us with disgust and he said “Okay” and turned his back and left then him and the waitress were bickering about us behind our backs, I mean that’s very rude. Save your money and spend it on a restaurant that is worth it!
The place looks nice, the food is not bad, however the workers are not friendly, we found hair in the food, kids meal came with 8 pieces of French fries, the ac was on low we were all suffering from the heat and couldn't enjoy our meal. I called the manager to express my frustration he looked at me with disgust, he said OK turned his back and left!! Please save your buck and don't go to this place it's horrible.
So delicious! Very descriptive menu. I liked the veggie w/chicken. Spicy level needed to be 2 below my usual thai place! Very spicy. Take out, 3 people, every order was just right!
Got the pad thai.. just meh, too saucy and one note flavor, also small portion.. for the price
Ohh. The best Thai place in Texas or even mid-south. We drive nearly 20 miles atleast once a month just to dine-in here.
Basil fried rice and panang curry are our favorite.
Probably the best Thai in the area !!! Food Full of flavor !!
Excellent cozy spot for terrific Thai food. The menu offers a wide variety of options and includes pictures so you can see what you are getting. Food was fresh and delicious. Service was stellar. Highly recommended!
Delicious food, beautifully presented! We will be back!
first of all the service here was fast and piping hot and with flavor !!
I came here that day and enjoyed it so much I got a friend
I had the avocado masaman and the chicken satay. the avocado masaman was good but I didn't feel like the avocado added much to do the dish
staff was kind and attentive
Incredible restaurant with great food and service.
Chicken was very hard and dry. Dumplings were hard. Like it was all made beforehand then reheated.
Top tier customer service today from Kaige (sorry if I misspelled) & the food never disappoints me.
Wonderful food!! Especially the curry and fired rice, must by well experienced chef 👨🍳
I really like their noodles, not the most friendly staff but the food is good.
