Local Fresh Thai Cuisine in Frisco
Simply Thai is simply the best! Best Thai food I’ve ever had hands down in Dallas or elsewhere (except Thailand, I have t been). The curries are delicious and not too heavy, we loved the yellow curry and pumpkin curry. My husband is vegan and is often suspicious about fish sauce/oil or such ingredients in the curry, but no worries here as everything tastes fresh and no fish smells. The crispy spring rolls are also excellent, somehow they make the filling so tender. We will be coming back to try more of their menu, they also have a separate vegan menu too. It’s a laid back neighborhood-restaurant like atmosphere with friendly, quick service. It feels like a best kept secret of the locals, so glad my friend introduced me to here!
Food was just average. Panang curry didn’t taste like panang curry, it didn’t have that traditional peanut flavor to it, or the taste of coconut milk. The spring rolls were good, but the tofu satay wasn’t good. It tasted too bland, and I couldn’t eat more than a single bite. The pad Thai (not pictured) was too sweet despite asking for 4 level spice (out of 5).
You order your food and find yourself a table to sit at. They bring your food to your table with the cutlery. There are napkin rolls at the table, but no spice mixes, or sauces .
okay so I came in around 4:30. And the food and service was absolutely amazing. And when I'm saying amazing. I'm mean absolutely fantastic. me and my mom order takeout all the time here but have never actually dined here. the service is 5 stars. She was very kind and attentive. the food was hot and very favorable. I highly recommend starting off with the shrimp egg roll as an appetizer. Its nice little hidden gem in downtown Frisco and I've lived here for a long time. It's in a perfect spot to dine and eat and do other activities. So if your looking for the best thai food well you found it. only come here for the best.
I always thought that Frisco Texas was one of those shiny new manufactured suburbs of the modern era, with no heart and soul, and only vast oceans of rooftops and strip malls. Silly me. Turns out I was wrong, because Frisco really does have a “downtown” district, if you will, albeit not very large. And, it doesn’t look like it was built in the last ten years.
It was in this laid-back center of an otherwise busy Dallas suburb that Oldest Daughter, Son-In-Law, and I found ourselves headed to Simply Thai Bistro a few days ago. It was probably one of the last days this summer season that would allow for outdoor dining without becoming as steaming hot as the food, so we ordered inside and grabbed a table on the quaint patio.
First on tap was a bowl of piping hot Edamame, which is a lot like theatre popcorn: You can’t stop eating them. It’s a basis appetizer, and Simply Thai did it up well.
This was quickly…and I mean quickly, much to our complete satisfaction…replaced with our entrees. Oldest Daughter went with Chicken Yellow Curry, while Son-In-Law ordered Thai Chicken Fried Rice. I ventured into slightly unfamiliar territory by ordering Pumpkin Tofu Red Curry, having never consumed pumpkin in this manner before. Spoiler: Do this! It was amazing! Daughter and I went with Spice Level 3 (out of 5), while S-I-L chose Level 2.
I found the serving size of mine to be just perfect, as did Oldest Daughter. But S-I-L, who by all rights has the biggest appetite of our trio, had to ask for a takeaway box, as they served him enough for two meals. No complaints here, mind you!
This was our first visit to Simply Thai (they have a second location not far away). Oldest Daughter and S-I-L have ordered from them before via DoorDash. We all concur that this could easily become a habit.
The food we tried was amazing. We tried a lot of food and the portions were huge and the taste was soooo good. The atmosphere can get a bit better as there was some funky smell when we entered. But the food was delicious and I will go back for more.
Laid-back, super friendly service, delicious food! What more could you ask for!?
One of the best Thai food places near Frisco square. There is a Thai food place literally next door to us but we drive the extra 15 min round trip because it’s much more superb. There’s also always ample parking.

Smells horrible like sewage
WonTon soup, Basil Chicken, and Yellow Curry are Excellent
This is the best Thai food in Frisco

Small bistro in downtown Frisco. I love soups and curries.
Delicious food, low cost and well portioned! Cute hole in the wall!
Fantastic dinner!! You can't go wrong with any dish!!
This is our favorite Thai restaurant. We order from here at least once every week. Great food and great service!
I’ve had much better Thai food in other cities and states. One of the male cashiers stood out as being particularly obnoxious. I was trying to open the bathroom door, but it’s a rundown place with old doors so it would open slightly but not all the way. It makes you think the door is broken. So I tried it again. When the cashier came out, he acted passive-aggressive and muttered under his breath,” what’s the rush….” Clearly, I’m at the bathroom to use the bathroom. Big shocker. Lack of common sense and guts to say things more clearly to customers.
Decent little place in DT FRISCO. Food was good and service as well. They have outdoor seating too , however due to road work it killed the vibe .
We came into eat and almost couldn’t pay because of lack of funds but we got our card situation figured out and paid for the one meal, and the owner, I’m guessing, offered to pay for our second meal. The food was so good and the service was so kind. We will definitely be back.
Always, always yummy! The best staff too!! Recommend everything on the menu.
The food is so good. But please, please do something about the sewer smell when you walk in the door. It's so unappetizing! I've gotten to the point I will only order to go but just walking in my stomach turns. This has been a problem off Main St location for years!
AUTHENTIC!
Spice levels true to a Thai food.
Poor Experience and Health
I am writing to express my disappointment with my recent dining experience at your restaurant. Unfortunately, the food was not fresh, and I ended up with a severe case of diarrhea afterward.
When I called to inform you about this issue, I was told I would receive a reward for my inconvenience. However, when I visited again, I was simply ignored and not given any compensation as promised.
This experience has left me very dissatisfied and concerned about the quality of your food and customer service. I hope you will take this feedback seriously and make the necessary improvements.
I’ve been wanting to try this place for awhile and was so disappointed… the pad Thai had no flavor and no peanut sauce. The Tom kha was full of large non ripe tomatoes unpeeled… who puts that in any soup? I love tomatoes in my Tom Kha but they need to be ripe and peeled. I ate a good amount and my picture still shows a ton of tomatoes… the staff was very friendly though.
I'm a frequent visitor of Simply Thai so I often interact with Chloe; she is the cashier + bus person & also takes care of the to go orders. She possesses great karma, an easy smile, & high energy which allows her to fly around the restaurant giving good service
Popped in with my girlfriend and got great recommendations from an enthusiastic and vibrant lady (regrettably forgot to ask her name) she had elaborative tattoos and facial piercings. I saw my food being prepared right there in their open kitchen, came out STEAMING hot , which was what we needed in the midst of a cloudy stormy day. It is BYOB , food is delicious. I ordered their basil fried rice but added pineapple and chicken to that , spice level 4 , trust me , it was chefs kiss . Wouldn’t mind popping in again if in the area
In the old town, it's been there for a long time. When you walk in, the first thing that hits you is this horrible smell. It's maybe from all the rain or something that died. So, we had to eat outside with all the flies. The food was ok... honestly, I wouldn't come back.

Pros: The curries and noodle soups are phenomenal. The prices are really good for Frisco. And like I said, the food is wonderful.
Cons: The atmosphere indoors is loud, with kitchen noise, TV noise, and many decorations and items filling the space. The window light is blocked so it feels dark and crowded. But they do have a patio, facing Main Street.
Conclusion: Go in the evening when the weather is nice, and sit on the patio! Or use them for takeout or catering.
I had the Pad Thai it was delicious!!!! Other had beef and broccoli 🥦 that was scrumptious too !! If you haven't been here yet you should definitely give it a try 😀
Friendly workers, great food, very clean
Worst food experience ever.
My recent visit to Thai bistro had exceptionally poor service. We waited long for both service and food, which arrived cold and underwhelming. When we attempted to cancel a dish before it was served, the staff rudely refused and did not issue a refund. This was undoubtedly one of the worst dining experiences I've ever endured.
Also whatever you get but don’t get ‘khao soi’
We have been going to Simply Thai for so many years I forget when we started. Great food, plenty of it and seasoned per your requirements. My wife is from Indonesia and is very picky about most Asian restaurants since she is an AMAZING cook and feels why should she pay when her cooking is better. Yet she always wants enjoys Simply Thai. The restaurant is not much for decorations but notice that they are ALWAYS taking in new orders. We call that a clue.
One of the best thai restaurants world class chef
This place is a hole in the wall place that’s easy to miss but has great food and it’s HALAL!
Their pineapple fried rice is amazing and their is green curry is pretty good.
The best is their wonton soup. I would definitely recommend it. Unfortunately when we did a to go order they only put 3 wontons in the soup but when we ate there it had quite a few.
High recommend it !
It's one of the best Thai places I had.
Five Star
Found this place when checking for take out options and decided to try it. Loved the food, great flavors with the right spice level. We had the chicken fried rice and vegetable green curry, relished it. We are visiting from California and this is certainly a place we would visit again next time we are here 😊
Best Thai food in N Dallas.
Have eaten at the bistro on many different occasions and the staff is always so friendly and the food is delicious. Most recently I called ahead to have lunch delivered to the church because I was in an all day meeting. Once again, outstanding customer service. It was easy to do over the phone, and from the girl on the phone at the store to the the delivery driver who dropped it off the staff was once again the kindest people ever. Thank you so much!
Food was just average. Panang curry didn’t taste like panang curry, it didn’t have that traditional peanut flavor to it, or the taste of coconut milk. Delicious Thai food with huge portions and a diverse menu. Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere as well. Service was great even when busy.
The food and the service were good. I had pad kee maw it was good but I would recommend no tomatoes and lettuce. My wife had spring rolls and mango sticky rice they both were really good 😊.
Excellent fried rice
We LOVE grabbing take out here. Our order is always perfect, and the food is delish! They handle our group orders easily.
I especially love the Tom Kha soup, chicken satay skewers, and Massaman Curry. Everyone always loves what they order.
**********
Review based on 01/12. Removing two stars
This place has gone downhill.
Ordered Tom Kha and basil fried rice spice level 4 on both!
Tom kha was so watered down, it lacked any taste or flavor!
Basil fried rice was just rice. Barely any tofu or bell pepper.
I am not going back here, this is the last straw!
**********
We ordered Basil Fried Rice with Chicken and Pad ke Mao with tofu. Both spice levels 4
Basil fried rice was ok! Not spicy for a level 4.basil Flavor was lacking as well
Pad ke mao was not salty and spicy. We mostly have a good experience, but this time seems to be off
Great taste
Out of all the places for if one wants to get Thai Food, I definitely recommend here at Simply Thai. Their staff gives such good service, the construction of the place looks authentic, they got “Coke” products, and most important of all, their food is so amazing, that it tastes like something I’ve been missing for so long!
My two favorite items on their menu are their Orange Chicken & Rice (with belle peppers), and their Shrimp Pad Thai.
I also love the fact that the restaurant is located in Downtown Frisco, which is one of my favorite places to hang out with family and friends.
The best in the area, hands down.
Food was very good. The place was busy, but was efficient...
Fantastic food!
Every week, Friday favorite. Delicious
Excellent food, great customer service. Just wish the atmosphere was a little bit more comfortable and inviting.
Great Thai food. A nice local as we call hole in the wall that has been here forever. Food is awesome so good and a lot of choices whether dine in or take home. You can bring your own wine to drink there also. The soups are very good as is all the chicken dishes.
This is a cozy place with great food. Been twice for Lunch/Dinner, food was good both the times. Will defend keep visiting.
Amazing place and cozy spot. Great food, good portions for a decent price. Service is friendly. I like that their menu is very vegetarian friendly. I got pad kee mow level 5 spicy, and they did not hold back the spice!
Such a great experience. Chloe and Mink were so fantastic, personable, and charming. The food was great I ordered a Chicken Salad, with a spice level of 3, and my father order a Tom-Kha Noodle soup, with a spice level of 3 as well. If you’re in Frisco and seeking authentic Asian cuisine, then this lovely spot is for you. Will be back soon! Keep up the great work!
Went there for years... Would call in to go orders 2 to 3 times a week... The only problem was that when picking up the "Would not write the name on the order. My office manager would order for everyone. They would make me stand in line and then ask what was in the entire order. I didn't know what 6 people ordered. I asked the owner if we could just give the name on the order and pick it up. He was super rude and said no. We decided to move to another restaurant with better service. The food was good but the restaurant needs a super cleaning.
One of our family’s favorite places to eat! Food is always delicious and staff is always super friendly.
Recommended:
Panang curry (decent, mild flavor),
sticky rice and mango (very fresh and sweet!),
Thai iced tea (balanced, not overly sweet)
AVOID:
PAD THAI ! (the blandest pad Thai I’ve ever had in the US, Greater China and Thailand. Unlike the curry, this had no flavor and no green vegetables at all?!)
PAD SEE EW (also no flavor, also blandest rendition of this I’ve ever had)
Avoid these two dishes, maybe get their curry dishes, and you will probably be fine.
My favorite Thai within 45 minutes. ALSO... the only one I know where I can get khao soi!
Great Thai food in Frisco area
Love the laidback feel. Food was delicious.
Best Thai food I've ever tried. It was very good. I tried the pumpkin curry with chicken. The flavor was amazing and it was full of chicken and pumpkin. Highly recommend.
Food is always amazing here!!
Comida Thai con buen sazón, precios razonables..lo recomiendo.
I love Simply Thai. Food and service is top notch. Lovely and homely atmosphere to boot. Chef's kiss!
Consistently going down in taste.. i miss old days.. its no longer tasty somehow
The food was good & flavorful. My only complaint is barely any chicken was added to my dish. Food was delicious tho. I will definitely be returning to try more dishes.
We ordered a to go order of pineapple fried rice and a panang curry. Usually I am happy with the food at this place but there were no cashews at all in the rice and very little veggies in the curry. Very disappointing experience.
Great food but the inside always smells of garbage. I don't know if they don't keep the back clean but the food is very very good. Their other location is not as good but doesn't smell. We keep going back but sit outside
Excellent Pad Kee Mow!! Made the right way, and it is not just Pad Thai w a fancy name. Food came out very quickly. Chill atmosphere, and cost effective. I recommend.
Good food, good ambience, courteous staff. Loved the place !!!
Excellent service. The food came out within minutes, and the starter soup was fantastic. The massaman curry was some of the best I’ve had and the extra spicy was actually spicy. The orange chicken was mind boggling. I’ve apparently not been eating orange chicken because this was the real deal. Overall, I will definitely be returning to try more of the dishes!
Flat out the best curry in DFW. I hope that’s not too strong of a statement.
I’ve been a customer of Simply Thai for years now and I’d have to say I’ve eaten their yellow curry dish about 95% of the time I’ve been there. I can’t precisely say what it is but there is something magical about the taste of their curry. It’s rich, it’s complex, it’s haunting. Seriously, there have been times when I’ve eaten their curry and I’m still thinking about it the next day.
In addition to their yellow curry, they also have other dishes that are just as delicious. I’ve thought many times about why their food is consistently delicious and so complex with flavors. Perhaps it’s because they source the right ingredients and don’t take shortcuts.
If you get Thai food from other places, you get what you ask for. You get Thai from Simply Thai, and you can taste that extra level of complex flavors. That complexity of flavors in food is what I judge a dish by. To me, complexity shows skill, it shows care for food, it shows mastery of your cuisine.
So check it out!
Fantastic food. We love these guys, we have been their neighbor for over five years. They run a top-notch establishment.
Great food and service, reasonable pricing too. The food came out quickly.
We have ordered green curry ( it is good) and pineapple cashew fried rice(this was salty and too much soy sauce). I would like to rate one star.
But the service is good and nice outside patio seating area.
Authentic Thai food.
The Best Thai food around 😋
Gave this a try today as we pass this everyday from work. Bought $50 worth of dinner but sadly it didn’t hit the spot. Both our meals were so bland not even a hint of salt. I also purchased the coconut calamari which cost almost $12 bucks and we received nothing but 5 pieces and coconut flakes lol. I would come back again sometime maybe and order other items.
Note: Service and people were super nice.
Awful. The basil fried rice looks flavorful, but it’s super salty and loaded with soy sauce. The pad Thai is worse than the basil fried rice. It is so dry it clumps together. I might throw them both out. Got both with chicken - there’s barely any chicken in them, and if there is, it’s dry to the point it’s hard to swallow. What a waste of money. Shouldn’t have listened to the reviews and stuck to Best Thai nearby.
We have always had a good experience at this restaurant until today. We waiting 15 plus mins for our food. We asked for non Spicy chicken fried rice. After a few bites of our meal we realized it was very spicy. When I returned the meal to the counter they knew they served us the wrong meal. But didn’t tell us They decided to serve us a meal we didn’t order. Very disappointing. Misleading. Which made it a bad experience.
Food quality is excellent try pad ki meow
Great food and service, reasonable pricing too. The food came out quickly and was great. We had green curry, tom yum noodle soup, the pad kee mow, and the mango coconut sticky rice.
good thai (halal)
Food is good been here many times and plan to come back again soon.
One of the worst Thai restaurants I have ever been too. We ordered fried rice and couple other Appetizers. The basil fried rice is very sticky and no proper meat/veggies. Not even cooked well and no flavors. And to serve the food they took 45mins. If you like to try fried rice please do not order here.
Favorite Thai spot!!
pretty sad to write this, but i picked up an order that was supposed to be pad thai with tofu, but it came with chicken instead. i’m vegetarian and can’t eat this so i had to figure out something else after already paying for it. on top of that, my mom said the pad thai was super dry so i tried it and it lacked flavor. the thai tea is good but i probably won’t be revisiting.
Simply Thai.. Simply the Best !!
Amazing friendly staff ..super fast service and 11/10 rating for the food ..we r hooked for life now :)
This is a very simple place yet the food was all tasty.
We tried:
Fried Spring rolls with chicken: Very yummy.
Shrimp dumplings: Was bland and not so memorable.
Singapore noodles with chicken:tasty and flavorful. The chicken was not so great it was hard.
Thai Basil fried rice with shrimp: This one had strong flavors of garlic, soy sauce and basil.
Thai fried rice with shrimp: This was the best one ever. Very flavorful and perfect, the shrimp was properly cooked if you do not like the seafood smell, this one doesn’t have that smell.
Close to Thai flavours that I was expecting. enjoyed my stir fried vegetables.
Condition of restaurant can be improved.
Love the authenticity of the food.
Green curry is best, special whole snapper with mango source .
Excellent food! Our favorite restaurant.
Always good service pretty good food. I would like it spicier so if you like it mild I would say get it spicy as you can
Not the best Thai option around, which is maybe why they are "Simply Thai" and not "Best Thai"? The food flavors were good, but the Curries were very low on meat and vegetables, about 1/2 as much as I normally get with my Curries. The prices were unfortunately also about 20% higher, with only 3 spring rolls in an order instead of 4 etc. Not sure we will eat here again, going to try other local Thai places first.
I went with my family for dinner. We ordered Pad Thai, Pad ke Maw, Bail Fried rice and red curry. I just want to share that this is so far the poorest taste and quality of food I have ever experienced in my 20 years. No flavors, no vegetables and taste was not up to the standards. Pad thai noodles was so bad that I couldn't finish. Red curry as advertised no veggies and no flavor. Basil fried rice tasted over cooked and same with pad ki maw. Only thing we liked was the Tom Yam Soup. Even the Satay chicken appetizer is very small in size. For the price you pay for the food is not worth at all. It is off my list and never visit again. My whole family was disappointed.
The food had a really bad taste tonight. I will not be returning anytime soon.
This is definitely the best Thai place in Frisco
If you are looking for a good Thai restaurant in Frisco then definitely try Simply Thai Bistro. We had been going to this restaurant for close to an year now. Extremely good food, delicious and very tasty. Their yellow curry and red curry are our favorite
Adult son and I first time here. Friendly desk order lady. Asked for customer favorite. We both got Kee Mow with chicken. Added appetizer shrimp eggroll. Both tasted good. We both got bad case of diarrhea a couple hours later. Not going back. This was Sat. Oct 1. 2 pm.
Good and fresh!
Small and little less ventilation for dine in.
One of the best place to have Thai food in DFW area. Same taste over years and they make it completely vegetarian if you request for it.
Awesome and authentic taste food. Staff is so welcoming highly recommended this for all Thai lovers.
Ordered takeout for 15 people gathering, good food, reasonable quantity and excellent customer service.
Love the food
The Best.
After a long walk at Main Street we decided to take a breather at Simple Thai's patio.
We randomly picked out these two dishes without any expectation but were amazed by their quality.
Steamed shrimp dumplings were full of flavours. Thai Chow Mein was smoking hot and delicious.
Will definitely go back.
Spicy!
Meh
While taking a stroll down Main after dinner at another restaurant the previous week, we noticed Simply Thai across the street and made a mental note to check it out. We got the opportunity to visit recently and unfortunately it was a overall disappointment. Walking in, the small counter service restaurant had an off-putting smell which seemed to be related to plumbing issues. Given this isn't exactly a new part of town, we chalked it up to either being an old building or possibly a problem they were having that night. Either way we were not going to be able to eat with the sewer-like odor, so we opted for a table on the patio despite it being close to 100 degrees outside. Said patio presented some seating challenges in and of itself with random mismatched tables and chairs and half of it being on a sloped, broken up sidewalk. We did find a clean 2 top right against the building on the only level part of the outdoor seating area. Once the food arrived, after waiting quite some time, it was not seasoned very well. I could definitely taste the heat but there was not much underlying flavor. To top it all off, the prices were pretty high given the taste of the food and all the above mentioned issues with the building itself. To be clear, it didn't taste bad, just not anything we would come back for to try other dishes. The staff was very friendly which makes me feel a bit bad for having to give such a low review, but I have to be honest about our experience in the hopes that this will be helpful feedback. We really wanted to like this place but with everything that didn't turn out well, it's unlikely we'd give it a second try.
Excellent appetizer Thai satay.
Great Pineapple curry ... try here
Tom yum soup was the best, basil beef was not that good, potion size was little and barely had any meat
amazing food and great atmosphere! also BYOB which is a nice touch
Delicious 🤤
Best Thai food in Frisco
It was okay
The food is always delicious and great portions!
Halal for those who care
Very Very bad taste of Thai and super expensive place to eat.environment is congested and pay expensive top dollar to eatYek bad taste thai food.(Top quality Beverlilly hills thai restaurants are much cheaper than this place)
Worst thai Green curry I ever eat.
Red curry and chicken was delicious.
Food is kind of bland, not much to talk about. Too pricey for what you get.
This place is nasty!
Great, authentic Thai food close to home.
Smells like sewage. We couldn't stomach the smell and left immediately.
Ok maybe I have very high standards when it comes to Thai so 3 stars. Any other day a different cuisine, they could have gotten 4 to 4.5 stars. This is definitely not the greatest thai restaurant I have been to. I usually judge a Thai restaurant by Tom kha, red curry, or a basil dish and unfortunately none of three deserved more than 3 stars other than for qty. The fried rice tasted like from a cheap Chinese restaurant. The Thai ice was ok. Their prices however are really good with no dish being unnecessarily expensive, including Thai ice tea, which some restaurants want $5-$6 for!!!
Highly recommend it
Good food - ordered multiple items and all were pretty good. Thai iced tea can be little less sweet but was decent.
Good service - staff at this location was very attentive. With the Sat rush, Food came out to table in no time.
Good location - located on main st and unique setup for sure. They have both inside amd outside seating areas.
Great food!!! Delicious!
Old charm.. friendly vibes .. lots of vegetarian options as well .
Hubs and I have been eating the food from Simply Thai as our go-to Thai place for 6 years now. Everything on the menu is terrific. We love, in particular, the pad thai, panang curry, basil fried rice, pad see ew, and lahb. They are quick, courteous, affordable, and endlessly tasty.
