chinese restaurant
I ordered from this restaurant for the last 10 years - the food was always delicious and consistent. Today I called and realized the number had changed and then- they did not have my address- I asked if ownership had changed. And I was told no. The order I got proved I was right. Singapore mai fun was flavorless and light on meat and no basil- they do not do a curry version it is supposedly a Thai version. I asked for extra spicy. Also ordered moo shoo chicken. I worked in a Chinese restaurant in college. I know what mu shu looks and tastes like. This was terrible - like plain sauted cabbage with NO other ingredients and almost no chicken. The curry soup used to be light spicy and flavorful. The soup now tastes like watered down curry from a dish and it is heavy. Every dish was bad. Also even when you ask for seasoning I did not get it. I want a refund … they told me I would get a store credit which means I would have to order again….mo. I never want this experience again.
I very rarely write negative reviews. I think all restaurants have something to offer in any aspect of a dining experience. And this is not necessarily a negative review, simply a confused review. I love little kitchen and it’s been the pinnacle of great Chinese value takeout since my childhood, and what was the absolute most appealing part of it for me, was its convenience and price. You pay 10 dollars, get some chicken and rice in a white rectanglular takeout Tupperware box. It. Was. Perfect. Until today when i called to get an order of sesame chicken, all seemed well until i heard the numbers 18.37 come out of the cashiers mouth. My jaw visibly dropped as she turned around to get my food. Now I will admit, instead of the classic meal in a box, I received a white container filled with chicken, and a box of rice. Obviously bigger portions. But where’s the perfect one box meal?? You could eat it anywhere, it was cheap and Just the right portions. I’m not asking you to take two box meal off the menu, it’s perfect for two people. But the one box ten dollar meal has to stay. Unfortunate that I had to order that and frankly write this review. I still love this place and will still get my money from time to time. I just really want that all-in-one perfect cheap box back. Please. Thank you.
portion sizes have decreased under new ownership, not worth the price. Barely any meat in orders. Food is worse, look elsewhere like Mister Chen for better offerings. Disappointing.
Ever since the original owners left everything changed. They had the best chicken broccoli but now it barely has any flavor and the chicken was dry, fried rice had 2-3 pieces of egg in it. Reputation left with the original owners
Forgot to mention the general tso' chicken is terrible it used to be savory, soft yet crunchy now it's all dry n hard and barely has any chicken at all just layers of deep fried of whatever it is
Been ordering from them over 10 years. New owners came in said they had same chef but they don't. Original chef cooked everything from scratch even sauces. Now, there's so much sugar n the food I can't eat it any longer. Makes my sugar level shoot up. Sorry but no where near the quality of the original Little Kitchen.
ever since the original owners sold in 2023, this place has gone down hill
The food under new ownership was GREAT! Definitely our new Chinese takeout spot in 2025!

Best Asian Food

Did this place get a new chef? Ordered from here for years and it was always very good, but not anymore.
Amazing fresh flavorful food. The egg drop soup was incredible.
I found the food excellent delicious.

So I had an issue with an Uber eats order and they immediately corrected the order and gave me a free entree. Their customer service is fantastic and so is their food!
Why did you change the recipes?? Been coming to this place since day one, gave a 5 star review several years ago but will need to change that. Very sad that each dish was completely different…it was subpar and almost inedible, with all the sand/ soil textures I kept biting into. Please wash the broccoli and mixed vegetables better, thanks.

I ordered chicken with broccoli and dumplings, everything was delicious
Awesome!
The place is clean and it used to be my favorite takeout place but since the new change, food quality and taste hasn't been the same.

Food has gotten really bad since new owner took over, different qualities does not taste the same.
Ordered today! Really like the food under the new ownership. Really good and definitely going to order again!
Under new ownership as of April 2024. First experience was great. They customized a soup, and Wendy at the counter was super friendly.
Loved the food and service here! Food came super quick after ordering and it was very delicious. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly!
Inconsistent, sometimes it’s good… sometimes it’s lacking. The general Tso is deep fried to hell, some pieces have NO chicken in it and their super cheap with the sauce. For $17, cook it correctly and stop cutting corners. They started adding a processing fee for credit card usage, super tacky. It’s the cost of doing business, don’t charge extra fees. Also, if they mess up your order and have to bring the correct dish, they want the wrong order back!! Just to make sure you don’t get one over on them, I really hope they aren’t serving that to other people! We need a consistent quality Chinese restaurant in the area, I miss Lum Yen SO much!
Good
Ordered take out and found a bunch of little shards of plastic in my food … tried to call the restaurant to resolve the issue but was told “ manger isn’t here “ I won’t be coming to this spot anymore
Very hit or miss. The timing on an online order has no bearing on when the food is ready - sometimes it isn’t ready and sometimes it has been sitting there. Too bad because this place used to be consistently excellent.
The food was delicious and not greasy for being Chinese food. I order me chicken with broccoli and an egg roll. I definitely enjoyed it !
Most Fire Spot for Chinese in Westchester!
Sesame chicken is top tier! Probably the best Sesame chicken by far!
This place disappointed me in many ways 1. It took 1 hour for us to get food even tho nobody was in the restaurant. 2 it was very hot and humid no air conditioning in it and by the time I got my food me and my friends were dripping in sweat. Even tho those were bad the food was good non the less.
Food is hit or miss ,not the same as it was before ,a real Shame
The place was very cute and clean. The dumplings were pretty good, I got shrimp and pork. A lot of places I had recently were mediocre so I enjoyed it. The veggies with garlic sauce were spicy but very good. Yummy crunchy egg roll.
I love the shrimp fried rice they give you a lot of shirt for your money
We have been ordering from here for about 3 years. Typically spending about $50- $75 each order. Great food and service UNTIL we ordered last week and they mistakenly brought us Shrimp with mixed vegetables when we ordered chicken with mixed vegetables. My daughter does not eat shrimp and was starving so I called immediately to let them know. I told them I didn’t care if they charged me for the shrimp (which is more) but wanted them to bring the chicken with vegetables for my daughter. They showed up with the chicken and asked for the shrimp back???!!!! I picked it out of the garbage and gave it back to them. Who does that??? Good luck to whoever ordered shrimp the next day!!! Think twice before eating here…..
We just ordered food from here. The food is good but the shrimp/scallop hunan dish had 1 small piece of shrimp and 1 small scallop. I called to let them know and it didn’t seem like they cared. Want to support local restaurants but won’t be ordering from Little Kitchen again.
I order from here 2-3 times A WEEK. Hands down best Chinese food I have had in my life. YOU NEED TO TRY THIS PLACE!!! 10/10
Actually I have never been to this restaurant, but our family has ordered several times and we have enjoyed everything. The beef and broccoli are the best I ever had!! The food is clean and they have tender meat.
Clean, well-cooked typical Chinese food. A little pricey.
Courteous service
They used to be incredibly great, but I just picked up dinner there tonight and it was disappointing verging on bad.
Flavorless and poorly cooked.
So unfortunate.
The best Beef N Broccoli I ever had! The Beef doesn't taste bland and it's cooked really well (not gummy like a rubber band in your mouth). I had the Beef n Broccoli with shrimp fried rice it's the 💣. I highly recommend this place.
We have had several consistently good takeout experiences in a row this past year at Little Kitchen. We usually order a wide variety of 4 or 5 dishes and everyone ends up with happy bellies and taste buds. Not fancy or expensive, just good food!
Best Chinese food in NY general tso is my go to
Decent food terrible customer service.
Ordered chicken and food was totally over cooked, to the point it was inedible. Called to get it replaced and they said they’d just credit the account (which I took at face value because they had my number and email). Tried to go back to give them a second chance and guess what….no credit sorry. Not a great look for a $10 meal. Thanks
Nice quality food
My daughter loves food there because it is actually good. I gave 4 stars because I find staff to be very impolite and lack customer service
Little Kitchen is our absolute favorite take out in Westchester!! It's consistently delicious! No matter how far away I move from LK I will drive however long it takes to get my favorites there. Fair portions, fresh and in-season ingredients. Try it all, I've never been disappointed, it is always a great meal.
Little Kitchen customer service is amazing. I will only eat my meal with hot sauce and I called back for some. Only of course if it was possible to get some delivered. They came and delivered, this made my day. This is such a sweet gesture. Thank you so much little kitchen <3
Always a delicious meal!
Good food but tend to mess up take out orders.
Authentic Chinese for Westchester. Slightly under seasoned but not in a bad way. You could tell ingredients were fresh particularly in the Moo Shu dish. Their eggplant dish was the best.
I called and they never got my order, the customer service here is not worth it!
I never give reviews.. just ordered and my egg roll and shrimp with broccoli was all burnt... it was just horrible
2 hour delivery. Mediocre food. Never again.
Food is sooooooo good!!
Great food
The food is fantastic, I mean absolutely delicious but I’ve as well as others have had numerous issues with the lady at the front. She’s very nasty and rude to all customers and condescending to her staff. Will not be going back by the pure fact that I don’t have to deal with her again.
The lady in front was very rude to my husband. We will never order there again
Food was requested for delivery at 6:30 and was delivered 11/2 hours early. The pad Thai was dry with no sauce and we found a hair in it. Called them to let them know and the lady put the phone on the counter while I heard them talking for more than 15 minutes. Finally spoke and they gave a credit for one pad Thai towards our next order.
The best beef with broccoli in Mamaroneck. So glad I finally tried them out. Super nice people and really, the most delicious beef with broccoli!
Great
I’ve always ordered from Here over the years and the quality has just gone down. Their fried rice used to be my favorite and now it’s legitimately just white rice with a few frozen carrots and peas... so disappointing I didn’t even touch the rice, just threw it out.
Foods always good
Food was so yummy and the staff was so sweet. The two things you need for a good meal!
The crispy aloha chicken is so good!
Great chinese
Used to work in the area and this was my lunch spot. I would definitely go back again.
I don't ordinarily review places, but this food was awful. We ordered delivery because of the positive reviews. The "fried rice" was literally just white rice with frozen peas and carrots added to it. The wonton soup tasted like vegetable broth to which they added some wontons. After tasting it, we threw it out and just ordered pizza.
Hot and fresh food! Service is fast esp on a 30 minute lunch break!
Great food and service
Stay away from this place. They were really good when they first opened, now they can’t get anything right. Take out/delivery orders are always wrong and when you call to tell them they try telling you that you messed up... huh?!?.. too over priced to be messing up and then getting nasty with customs. If I could give zero stars I would. Super disappointed that this place went south.
Once you go to Little Kitchen, you will never want to go to any other Asian restaurant, because they are the best. I recommend sesame chicken or beef lo mein. Excellence.
Fantastic food. Not your typical “asian takeout” place, despite the sameness of the menu options and the menu itself. Very fast, good prices, delivery free with purchase over $15, family-owned, and has been in busy for many years.
THE BEST Chinese food for miiiiiiles
Expensive
非常好!大家都很喜欢呀!
My Fav Chinese restaurant in mamaroneck
Nasty owner Juan Goerge does NOT CARE about losing customers, even when his staff get orders wrong. I guess he doesn't like hearing when something goes wrong on their end. Will NOT GO BACK. Too many other great restaurants in the area. Try Red Plum. Now they have great food and excellent service.
Muy buna la comida el trato me gusta mucho este restaurante
Best Chinese takeout in the area. I highly recommend the Szechuan dumplings!
Used to be good now sloppy cook. I like their eggplant dish but when it’s not floating and loaded with oil. I used to go here often for lunch and I always get the eggplant dish, it’s perfectly sautéed not saucy but really appetizing. I ordered late and they’re we’re probably closing or rushing and gave me this stewed like eggplant lol. Also ordered chicken wings that is quickly dipped in cooking oil probably left over. I know what freshly made chicken wing look and taste like. The one they gave me is hot on the outside and cold on the inside left over and dry. I can tell from the old dried fried meat compared to a freshly fried one when you split the meat sizzles hot. The one I was given was cold. Again like I said they’re probably rushing to make a sale and close.
It would also be nice they don’t mindlessly give you unnecessary condiments and miss utensils. So I picked it up hoping I could eat it with utensils haha I’m really not having the best luck with this one.
I used to criticize how they only have frozen vegetable carrots and green peas on their fried rice. Whatever happened to authenticity of Asian food. No scallions or bean sprouts or real sliced carrots? They want to short cut the dish I see. Some people don’t notice maybe too hungry and don’t care. If they want people to keep coming back how bout offer and serve what we paid for, don’t shortcut and give out left over yesterday’s food that aren’t sold. It’s really deceitful. I’m glad I could tell the difference from now and then. Used to like this place but I feel like they no longer serve their purpose. Probably slacking. Just my two cents.
A family favorite for years! We've never been disappointed. My adult son won't get chicken lo mein from anywhere else!
Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else .
My favorite Asian restaurant ever. Their food is delicious and they are so quick
The finest Chinese takeout in the town.
Very satisfactory, extremely positive experience.
I’ve been coming here since they first opened and I can only say throughout the years I’ve been keeping my loyalty. Fun for a casual dinner or even takeout and a Netflix at home. Whatever the occasion the flavor is sure to make you come back!
What a shame..used to enjoy this place, unfortunately the quality of the food has been extremely disappointing at best..
This restaurant used to be amazing, however, the last few times we ordered from here the food has been horrible. When we called the restaurant to inquire about the quality of food, we were ignored and dismissed. We are not sure is there is a new owner and:or a new chef... the food is subpar, at best. Disappointed! If you want good Chinese food, we suggest you look elsewhere, unfortunately. 😑
This restaraunt is so Nice! I don't know how it has 3.9 rating. It's definitely in the 5 range. The staff is so friendly and warm! For a chinese dine-in takeout the service is exceptional. Eggplant garlic sauce with shrimp .Wonton soup.
Great food and nice personnel
I have been going here for few years. The food is delicious and not your typical take out place, better fusion menu Thai and Chinese
My wife and I were in the mood for a restaurant in the area that served Thai food. This is basically a take out place that has some Thai dishes but primary it has Chinese food. For the most part the food was very mediocre. Chicken Satay overcooked with no peanut sauce and overcooked Pad thai. Beef with basil was the best of their offerings. Sorry but we won't be returning here for Thai food.
Really clean, fast, delivery, really good food. I always order the Chicken w/ Broccoli and fried rice combo
Good food and good service
This place has really good steamed dumplings and I like that they have tables so you can dine in. It's a cozy place!
Their food is really fresh without a lot additives. Amazing!
Best Chinese food!! Try anything and it will be good.
Good food not very good service better for takeouts.
I love the rice and food. Highly recommend it.
One of my favorite spots. The chicken curry tai, shrimp black bean sc & the steamed Shanghai greens with chicken are repeat orders of mine. Prices are very affordable and there is a small seating section available inside. Most of their business is takeout! I totally recommend this place.
Get the general tsoa chivken
Food here is excellent! So good that I overlook the fact they mess up your order every now and then. Be aware the delivery times can take up to an hour! Strictly pick up
Best fried rice ever
I love their house salad, but all the food is great!
Had take out from Little Kitchen at a friend's house last night. The last time we took out from there the food was good, but that was months ago. Last night the spare ribs were leather on a bone. The bok choi was flavorless except the pieces that had raw garlic dumped in. The Generals Chicken was very crispy outside and bone dry inside. The Thai roll, eggplant and dumplings were ok.
That's $75 for $18 worth of edible food.
lil kitchen is wack nd they buy fish off the trunks of cars @ like 4am when no1 can find out, but i saw it wit my own 2 eyes.. gross
Always fast delivery, great food and most dishes include healthy veges
Always good take out.
A little treasure of asian cuisine hidden on the Avenue in Mamaroneck. Great lunch bargains and tasty!
Had the mango chicken. Sweet, but needed more love, more salt. The food was kind of bland. Portions are huge though!
Possibly the best fast Chinese food I have ever had.
Easily the best tasting and value for chinese food I've ever had. Chef quality food at a great prices. Love the friend dumplings and lunch specials
Their food is always fresh tasting, not too sugary and lacking that over-fried after taste.
La comida es deliciosa
Nice restaurant but they forget part if the orders too much when ordering over the phone
Great little local takeout spot. Menu tries to be eclectic but recommend sticking with the usual Chinese-American dishes. Quick service but need to be patient with communication.
Good
The very best affordable oriental food in New York.
Best food 😋😋😋
Oh my god what a disaster I ordered at 7.20 received wrong order at 8.45 a Chinese resteraunt that should not try to cook Thai food was unedible threw it all in the garbage waste of time and money. 😠
This is by far the BEST Chinese take-out restaurant in the area for several reasons:
1) Always all white meat chicken
2) Not minimum charge for credit cards
3) Food tastes superior
4) Best tasting AND cheapest lunch specials
5) Very clean
6) Fresh veggies
Surprisingly very delicious we go here for lunch sometimes fast too
Great Chinese take out location. The food tastes like it is a step up from the norm.
Have been going here for a few years .the food is fantastic.not your typical take out ..much much better
Authentic great food
I love this. Place! Food is amazing! Def! A step above your average Chinese fast food place. Food is always consistent, and veggies always fresh!
This was my favorite in town, but I won't be ordering anymore. I feel pretty ripped off when a restaurant uses stale pancakes for the mooshoo, they literally fell apart before I had a chance to eat them. the hot and sour soup was nearly gelatinous (gross) and tasted like congealed and old broth. It was sour, but not in the right way. And most importantly the egg roll was very old tasting. We're very disappointed :(
Food had a great flavor and good portions.
A far cut above your typical take out place (of which there are a few on Mamaroneck Ave.), and worth paying a little more for. Good Thai options also.
