Thai restaurant serving curries, noodles & other classic entrees in a relaxed, stylish atmosphere.
Tucked away behind the bustle of downtown Denton, you’ll find this quiet and peaceful oasis. Thai Square has been me and my partner’s favorite restaurant in Denton for two years now. The service is always incredible, the prices are extremely fair, and the food genuinely tastes amazing and overwhelmingly authentic. The Khao Soi Chiang Mai is without a doubt our favorite entree on the menu. While me and my girlfriend were living in Thailand we were actually thinking about how much we missed this Khao Soi at Thai Square, funnily enough. I personally recommend to everyone to get the Thai Tea. It’s sweet, it’s refreshing, and it’s heavenly. The seating arrangement is quite small, but I definitely think the space is perfectly utilized and we’ve never had issues making reservations. This is one of if not the best restaurant in Denton. I would totally recommend it to anyone if you are just passing through the city or need a great date night location.
Comfortable, cozy and quiet setting. Great for a relaxing lunch or dinner. I really enjoyed the Pad Kee Mao. If you’re up for a challenge, order it double Thai spicy, it will definitely get your sinuses flowing. If you’re looking for Thai food with friendly and welcoming staff, give this place a try, you won’t be disappointed.
Our group visited a Thai restaurant where we all thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. We indulged in the delicious Tom Yum and Tom Ka soups, which were both enjoyable, while the Basil Fried Rice was exceptional. The soupy noodles were also tasty, and the fresh rolls were exceptional. The Chicken Satay was a nice addition to the meal, and we were particularly impressed with the Yellow Curry and Red Curry, which were both excellent. The highlight of the meal, however, was the delectable Mango Sticky Rice. The ambience of the restaurant was pleasant, and the servers were attentive and helpful throughout our visit.
This place is literally a small square shaped restaurant, staff are nice and friendly. Spring rolls were great, that’s about it.
Food is not much of flavor, I had pineapple fried rice and it felt more of pineapple burnt rice. The chicken fried rice was just average.
Place was busy initially and had great wait time, yet another restaurant which falls short of it’s reviews.

Had an unfortunate experience, I was a bit disappointed by the service from the hostess. We got our name and number taken down and got told there would be a 15 minute wait. No problem, about an hour goes by and still no call so we decide to head back and check to see if we can be seated, we give the hostess the name of the party and she gets snippy and claims she called us twice, however I never got a call and we confirmed the number twice even checked my call logs. After that she claimed the phones were acting up and that other people have had this happen too, no accountability or sorry for the misunderstanding, our server however was absolutely sweet and attentive and the food and appetizers were great
The food was honestly disgusting. The service was great and the workers were SO nice. But the food was just awful. The Pad Thai looked pretty but literally smelled like kibble dog food and just had a really odd flavor. The chicken in it smelled really bad. The chicken in the Ka Pow was not seasoned at all, the sauce tasted like gravy, and the rice was over cooked and bland. We both felt sick afterwards and couldn’t even finish our meals. We spent $45 on dinner and were still hungry after because it was so bad. We really wanted to like it because the workers were so nice, but it was awful.
My go to restaurant. When I want a quick delicious meal that delivers every time.

Thai Square is a Denton gem, always delicious & friendly. I love their Khao Soi!
Small restaurant but the food is good. Service was good staff very friendly. It is in college town, so keep that in mind that no one seems to have an inside voice.
$10 for garbage dumplings and tasted like they were on the floor for years. Erasing restaurants from my list

This is a great place for an intimate date.
Top Thai places for sure!
Food was great and celiacs safe! Had Edgar as our waiter! So funny and hospitable!!!
Yellow Curry is so dang good!

Decided to try this place for the first time since my reg Thai lunch spot was closed. Had the Pad Woon Sen with beef (prefer pork but not an option) "Thai hot". The dish was great and just the right amount of spice to be hot but tasteful. Definitely recommend.
Very terrible service recovery. I walked in a little after nine ordered recieved my food and was very unimpressed. My waiter was very kind and attentive. When questioned about the food, I explained that I really didn’t care for it. He goes to speak to the manager and she refused to take the items off the ticket or switch the dish. Very disappointed take your money somewhere where they value accountability.
Friendly waitstaff, fabulous food, priced right
Se come excelente!
Good food but the service needs a bit of improvement. We had to ask several times to get water refills and one order wasn’t not correct.
Great little spot.
A nice overall place to go. Impressive with some of the quality. Spice level is a bit mild but flavors are well constructed.
Pumpkin curry + egg rolls = ♥️
We just left 10 minutes after seating, because nobody bothered to even bring us water or take our order.
Not smiley friendly staff, small and not cozy environment, old chairs, not good impression whatsoever.
Thai with a twist. I look forward to dining here at least a few times a month. The choices are always fresh and can be suited to your protein choices. I love the stir-fry with tofu or chicken.
The addition of sauce combos makes it fun to change up and supryour taste buds. I highly recommend Thai Square on the square in Downtown Denton.
Nice spot near campus
It's a small place and we had to flag down our server a few times but the food was amazing!!! We ordered the veggie fresh rolls, which were good, but we had to jazz up the peanut sauce a little for us to like it. I ordered the Ka-Pow with chicken with mild spice and it was perfection!!!! I will be craving this and definitely coming back the next time I'm in Denton.
Thai Square has a great menu and each dish is packed full of authentic Thai flavors! Worth the wait!
I’ve been going to this place for a while, but make sure to plan to sit down for a while. This place is criminal for slow service but good food. Get faster please, love y’all but gosh it takes too long. Took 1 1/2 hours to get one green curry. Should not take that long.
This time I called in a pickup order and as usual it was delicious. Being a gluten free diner limits the places where I'm comfortable eating but Thai Square has always been good.
A little high in price, but good quality food is hard to find, so will definitely pay for good food. The service could use some work - not so welcoming, hints my 4 star rating.
Ordered over phone, Ready on time. Taken care of food ingredients restrictions
But the basil fried rice was too bland and we ordered spice level of Hot.
Ordered Pad Kee Mao - was good but too salty.
So one was with no salt and other was too salty.
Best Thai place in Denton so far it’s always my go to place for spicy Thai basil fried rice and pineapple fried rice
I've never eaten inside the restaurant, but there Panang is too delicious to describe. Spicy is the only way to go though. I order it when I need to find a happy place. ❤️🥰
We have come here for their Pad Thai for many years and it never disappoints. The steamed dumplings are an awesome appetizer too. BYOB, so bring your own booze. The service is great and friendly. Cant wait for our next visit.
I’ve eaten here many times because it is close to where I live. The quality is just OK. There are better Thai restaurants.
My Thai wife loved every dish. We had bass, salmon, coconut soup and chicken satay.
I’ve been here 3 times and every time I’ve went the food and service has been great. Gets a little busy on the weekend at night but we didn’t have to wait long before being seated. The place is BYOB which is nice. Good sized portions for a good price , I highly recommend getting the salmon or duck. Would definitely come back it’s a nice intimate date spot or if you just tryna chill.
great food, especially if you have dietary restrictions!!
Good vegetarian options and gluten free dishes are clearly labeled.
PadThai and rolls were great!
I don't usually give Google reviews but they're food was so good I saw God. Their food is so nutritious with so many antioxidants that it literally makes your brain buzz and your body relax. It is incredible
Solid Thai place, and their heat doesn’t play. Had panang curry and some rolls. Really good.
The Thai iced coffee was made with coconut milk, and not sweetened condensed milk, but it was serviceable.
The food here is good! Definitely going back!
You may have to wait about 15 minutes to get a table on a Sunday if you're dining in... Can't speak for other days
Wasn't bad or great, just ok.
Love eating here. Food and service are excellent! It is a smaller restaurant so plan a reservation or a small wait especially during peak dining hours. Take out is also amazing
Hands down the best Thai food in Denton! The Pad Kee Mow has incredible flavor and is perfectly balanced with all the ingredients. Definitely my favorite! Not to mention generous portions for an incredible price! So unbelievably good!
My wife and I get Thai Square literally every weekend. It's incredible! I almost didn't want to leave a good review because I'm afraid this gem will become more and more busy! Mrs Owner of Thai Square: please NEVER leave!
Great food! My wife and I just went there for the first time 1 months ago and had to go back 2 weeks later for some more. Definitely recommend!
I’ve ordered twice from this restaurant. They’ve messed up both times. The first time, I called them, and after holding for about 10 minutes, they told me that if I want the correct thing, I would have to drive all the way back and pick it up. It was annoying, but we did it anyway.
I gave them another chance, and this time, they forgot to give me the rice. I made my own and called it a day.
First time going and will def be back.
I love Thai food! The food here is definitely pretty good but I wouldn’t say the best ever. The place is really busy but the space inside is not a lot which was frustrating. Because they’re so busy, service can be kind of slow. Overall, I wouldn’t mind going back but hopefully at a time that is less busy.
The food is amazing! We went for date night and had a wonderful time. We will definitely be back!
We stopped in Denton and came across Thai Square. The ambiance is warm and inviting, the menu is diverse and the customer service is great. Our server was so nice and it was a very relaxing, delicious lunch. If I ever pass by Denton again - this will be my first stop. I highly recommend.
Highly recommend this place for vegan Thai options.
this place is very small and tucked away, but one of my favorite restaurants in town. the service can be lacking, but the quality of the food makes it easy to overlook.
I often order a curry dish at any Thai restaurant. Ordered the PAD WOON SEN- absolutely excellent. Fresh and busting with flavor.
Excellent service.
Loved the curry sampler! Big fan of the panang and red curries. Yellow curry isn't my thing, but I can't fault the restaurant for that.
Nice location and very friendly staff. Had the Pad Se Ew and it was flavorful, but I would go a level hotter next time. Also had the Khal So, good flavor but the noodles were a bit underdone. Overall a very solid option for the area and an extra star for the staff.
There are several Thai restaurants in Denton and Thai Square is definitely the best. The food is always delicious and service is top notch. Thanks Pam for years of consistency.
Curry dishes prepared very well and good portion sizes. Service was really responsive.
Environment and smells were very authentic, and the food was really good. Except the Masuman curry tasted a bit different than I expected, more mild and less pops of flavor than I'm used to, but the other dishes we had were very good .
Great Thai food . Everything from Pad Thai to curry taste fresh.
Best Thai food in Denton county! I had the Panang curry with chicken and husband had the green sooooo good!
The food was fantastic. Spicy curry with chewy noodles. The atmosphere was lacking tho. The place felt dim and a little cramped.
Food is great! They don't answer the phone.
Best Thai food and great service.
The food was excellent, and Natalie provided great service.
We visited this place during the week and the hostess/waitress asked us to wait around 30 min to give us a table. She asked for our phone number to let us know when the table was ready. We never received a message or a call and after the 30 min wait time we went back and there were 8 empty tables.
The restaurant didn’t smell clean and we had a lot of fruit flies around us while we were eating.
I order the pad Thai it tasted good but it smelled like wet dog. I couldn’t finished it.
I’m not coming back.
Respectfully, please fix your fruit fly problem. When my meal is surrounded by 8 flys at once, it is very off putting. Can’t help but think what the kitchen must be like. It’s an unfortunate part of the restaurant business. But pretending it doesn’t exist won’t make it go away.
This place renewed my love for Tom kha soup. So much flavor. They also have a curry sampler that I will definitely come back and try!
I’m so so disappointed! I placed an order & walked in to pick up. My mistake for not checking the order to assure everything was included but felt confident since it was 5:00 and the restaurant only had 3 tables of customers. Needless to say we were missing a HUGE component of our meal!! There was no rice for the curry sampler, a $20 dish!!!!!! So, I spent $50 on our food and tipped $10 because I’ve been in the service industry but don’t have my complete order! They declined using door dash to correct THEIR mistake but offered for ME to make a trip across town to get the item THEY forgot. As you can tell I’m truly upset because we love their food but this is unacceptable!!!
I tried this place for the first time, It was so good!! This place is now my go- to place😁
Service was also good!
Delicious food and the servers are nice and professional.
Solid Thai food on the square. Will always be a fan.
Thai restaurant hidden in the middle of downtown Denton TX. Exceptional quality and portions! Very relaxed and quiet atmosphere for lunch or dinner. Family friendly and the staff was great! Highly recommend this restaurant May be difficult to find, but worth the effort.
I had the Beef Mas sa mun curry and it was delicious! Just fyi theres no beer its byob. Enjoy!
Loud dining room, but good service and really good food!
The food is pretty good. Now I like spicy, but be careful when you say "spicy". I have been to Thailand and eaten spicy food in-country. I ordered the Panang curry and asked for spicy. Let me just say the last time I had something that spicy was in Thailand. It was almost too spicy. At first, I thought the cook was playing a joke on me. It caught me off-guard, but I still ate it. You have been warned. I liked the Tom Kha soup as well. The service is average and the decor is rustic, but overall, it's a nice place to get a quick bite.
The food was so good I genuinely almost cried.
Waited for 10-15 minutes at the front. Got “shown” a table went another 15 mini with no server or service. Definitely not coming back.
Great food in a great atmosphere!
I have several food sensitivities so I appreciate the detailed descriptions in the menu. There's a nice variety and there are labels on the items that are gluten free. My friends and I loved our food and our waiter was great.
Musaman Curry was great! So was the service! Very relaxing
This is the place I’ll miss the most when I leave Denton.
The food is always fantastic. The service is hit or miss. Waited forever for server to take my order. Finally walked up to the register with menus and asked to order. My waiter then asked if I wanted it to go or dine in?
This was our first time going to Thai Square. It's a small restaurant, but that's one of the things I love about it! I got the Panang curry and it was delicious, flavorful, and fulfilling. We will be going back to try more of the menu!
Pad Thai, too sweet. Pho, like basil water.
Pretty good place. Don't go near closing time. Wait staff acts like they are doing you a favor.
best yellow curry I’ve had. Definitely recommend…however when they say “thai spicy” they mean thai spicy!..i will be ordering again but getting hot spicy instead.
This is a joke in the wall, college town eatery. Went there because of many positive reviews but frankly, don't understand the hype. The place is old, rickety and dirty on the inside. Service is slow. Parking is difficult. Food is average.
Ive been here multiple times, delicious every single time. I recommend the curries and pad thai (MINIMUM level 1 spice, mild is too sweet)
Pad See Ew is a MUST here! Quality is consistently good, and the service has always been outstandingly friendly. We came at peak hours on Saturday and had to leave our name/number, but the wait is not too long (about 15 minutes). You can walk around Denton square to shop and get coffee while you wait for their call. I also recommend trying the Thai Tea and the Pad Kee Mow.
7/23 update
Always receive great service here! (Shout-out to Matthew 🫶🏼) Gave the Salmon in Basil Sauce a try, and it was AMAZING.
My husband, son and I were attending a late night movie and decided we would like to try a new (to us). Thai Square is a very busy place in downtown Denton close to UNT. Crowd is very diverse and it has a nice steady chatter. We ordered spicy Thai dumplings for an appetizer. They were excellent! I ordered chicken pad Thai. I didn’t want mild so I ordered medium heat. Husband ordered beef pad thai medium and son had another dish. The medium has a nice heat. We will definitely be back to try some things recommended by some regulars! Great food! Great atmosphere! Great service!
Very good food and prompt service. Had the beef kao soi chiang mai (curry soup) and the yellow curry. Both excellent, though even the medium spice level is enough to make your nose run, which I don't mind but some may want mild. My only criticism would be that the fried noodle garnish on the curry soup was overwhelming. 👍
I ordered online & picked it up. I’ve had much better. There’s really not a good Asian place to eat in Denton.
Wow, food was so good! We had the fried Thai dumplings, shrimp pad Thai, and yellow chicken curry! The portions were a good size! For the three items we got, we were fully satisfied by the end! We were seating right away and our server Kevin made sure to check up on us throughout the dinner. Will definitely be coming back!
From the door, we could smell the delicious food! We ordered fried spring rolls, chicken pad kee mow, and chicken pad thai - all equally delicious! Michelle was an excellent server as well! We'll be back!
We are visiting Denton.
I would go back if I was here longer.
Really tasty food, big portions, well presented plates, nice service and nice setting. The restaurant is somewhat small and hidden in a non-major street, but that helps creating a cozier private atmosphere. The only thing I didn't like is that they only have two individual restrooms, and then, most of the time there was somebody in line waiting to use them.
Back when I was a student at UNT I ate there so often they'd bring me pad thai beef medium heat as soon as I sat down. The staff has changed and they don't know me anymore but the food is still amazing
Real deal
my go-to for thai in denton. service is usually pretty quick and very friendly. the pad see ew is delicious!!
My first time to this place today with a couple of friends, Saturday lunch. Absolutely the best pad thai I have ever eaten! Super fresh food, both of my friends also enjoyed their choices! I will definitely be going back to try other dishes. Excellent food and service, I highly recommend this restaurant!!
The food is absolutely incredible, the staff is so kind, and the atmosphere is to die for. 10/10
Super amazing and fresh food! My first time eating Thai and I'm definitely coming back!!! Everything is so flavorful and interesting! I'm obsessed!!
Some of the best Thai food I’ve had in a very very long time. When you go ask for Matthew he was the sweetest & extremely attentive! Absolutely amazing service and fresh food :) loveeeee
still the worst food in denton ❤️
Great food… but more importantly, owners Pam & pj are two of the very best people I have ever known… Just beautiful souls who are absolute gifts to the world, & especially Denton. Best Thai food, best people. Can’t lose.
Great little surprise.... was heading to a different local Thai place and discovered this wonderful place. A total delight!

This place is fantastic! One of the best meals you’ll get in Denton for sure. I will for sure be coming back!
Top notch Thai food and one of my favorite local spots. The Kao Soi is absolutely one of my all time favorite dishes and the avocado egg rolls are to die for.
yummy!
So freaking good. Panang curry is so flavorful and the fried spring rolls melt in your mouth. YUM
Very loud, but good food.
