It has been 5 years since I visited here and the food is still fantastic! I had the jungle curry shrimp and my best friend had the fish kapow! Both dishes used very fresh and flavorful seafood with tasty herbs, vegetables and spices. The flavors made my taste buds dance. I flew in from NY just to have an early birthday celebration dinner here with my best friend. The service and hospitality was excellent. The manager and chef even agreed to accommodate us the next day by opening early on a Sunday so I could take fresh food home on the plane. Our server Lexi was bubbly and full of positive energy! This is an excellent restaurant to share a meal with family and friends. I absolutely recommend it. 💯!

I recently dined at this lovely Thai restaurant and had an exceptional experience. I was seeking a place that could accommodate substitutions for non-dairy products, and I was delighted by the service. Aldana, my server, was gracious and incredibly helpful. She made sure my meal was prepared with a low spice level, just as I requested, and substituted coconut milk for the traditional dairy in my Thai tea. Always they hook me up with extra Thai chilis and even send me little surprise sauces without even requesting them. This family owned gem is a local must-try. The owner and her husband Steve are so lovely and their entire staff are super welcoming and will take the time out of their day to make sure you get top notch service. I love this place. We had just moved to Richardson and wanted to find a Thai restaurant we could frequent and this one was just perfect! Friendly and personable owners and staff who took the time to speak with us and tell us about their history and great food. We had the pad see ew and thai fried rice, and the food did not disappoint. They both tasted fantastic! Very large dinner portions, presented well on the plates. My son, who seems to think he is an expert pad see ew afficionado, says it's the best he has ever tasted. Next we will try their lunch that includes unlimited soup & salad. I highly recommend that anyone who has a love for thai food (they also offer Chinese versions for some of their dishes) try this restaurant. You will be happy you did!

Every time we go, we see the same serving staff which speaks volumes to how well the restaurant is managed. We are grateful that each time we go we have experienced wonderful service, delicious food and reasonable prices.

We love Banana Leaf for many reasons! The food is always fresh and the quality has been consistent for many years. The service is outstanding! An example of the service - just last evening we ordered delivery and the door dash driver left our food at the wrong house. When receiving a text it had been delivered I called the restaurant to let them know. They made another order and delivered it in person within 15 minutes. It is hard to find businesses with this much integrity and loyalty to their customers like they do.

Food was good, but they definitely messed up my to go box. I am sure u got food from a different table. I regret paying full price and the tip too. :(

My wife told me we should try this place out because she had eaten the food from here at work and said it was great. I was reluctant to try it because I thought it was going to be like every other Thai food place and not like it. We went and my expectations were exceeded! The food was AMAZING! We had the Pepper and garlic stir fry with beef and shrimp, the Thai herb fish (I think it was called) it was striped bass, the fried ice cream, the fried bananas with ice cream and the spring rolls and it was ALL amazing. The owner Steve was out and about visiting with the diners and really was fun to talk to. I highly recommend this restaurant and we will be back often. Oh, the prices in my opinion were shockingly low for the quality of food and amount of food we received, all of that with drinks was $69. I actually asked the waitress “Lexi” if she figured it right. She offered to check, but she thought I was insinuating that it was too much. Anyway, go eat here, even if you think you don’t like Thai food. You will be glad you did!

Spent a wonderful afternoon at Banana Leaf Thai Cuisine after the great thaw of 2025! We were able to be seat quickly in a busy dining room. To our surprise, we overhear another couple speaking for driving a long distance to experience a meal. Chicken skewer appetizers were a perfect way to share a starter and included a sweet spicy sauce and peanut sauce. We were excited to have fish with Thai herb entree, which exceeded its reputation! Light and crispy with a delicious sauce! The Cajun fried was a wonderful melting of two worlds with a touch of spice at the level of your choosing. The mango sticky rice topped off the meal as the perfect desert!! We will be back with family and friends to share in the experience!

We had the tom yum, som tum, khao soy, and the appetizer sampler, all at 4 level spicy. The meats were all so tender and each dish had great flavor.

It’s definitely the best in the DFW metroplex and the fact that they’ve been around for almost 40 years is a testament to their quality and service. This restaurant used to be one of the famous Thai restaurants in the area. But today’s food was a disappointment. Poorly cooked meat and the fried ice cream tasted like chemical.

Ordered takeout the other night and was craving shrimp pad thai. It was definitely tasty and had a good abundance of shrimp to my liking - enough to share with my 1 yo son. I don't know if red onions are normally part of the ingredient, but it tasted fine. I initially thought the container was small in portions when it was the perfect amount just REALLY stuffed into the container considering the food actually touching the brim of the bowl and the lid. The dish was also a reasonable price as well as the additional cost for the shrimp, very affordable for what it's worth.

The food is excellent, but we need to discuss the service. We ordered takeout and realized one of our dishes was missing when we got home. I called and spoke to someone I think may have been the owner and asked if they could refund the missing dish. Instead, the gentleman apologized and had the team deliver the missing dish before we finished dinner. This level of customer service is above and beyond but shows you what they will do at Banana Leaf to make your experience exceptional. Please visit this neighborhood gem!

I have been coming here with my family for almost 10 years. Every single time, I am left both amazed and satisfied. If you are in need of a Thai restaurant that serves great Thai food at a respectable price, Banana Leaf is the way to go. The ambiance is welcoming, and the staff are always attentive and quick. Truly a great experience every time I visit or order to-go.

If you love spicy food, I personally recommend the Cajun Fried Rice with Tofu, spice-level 5. The rice and tofu are cooked to perfection, all coated in that Cajun sauce that covers the entire dish. You top that off with an ice-cold Thai Tea, rounding off an excellent meal.

I cannot stress this enough: if you are in the area and looking for a great meal, come to Banana Leaf. You will not leave disappointed!

Nice decor and decent menu. I believe it could be great food, but I'm docking a few stars for service. We had a young server who put my 4 spicy pineapple fried rice in as a 0 spicy, but no one came to check on us or bring chili or ask if we needed anything until we were done. I probably would've been generous with 3 stars on service, but when the proprietor came around after I gave a different server my payment after trying to catch eyes with anyone who could get the bill, he only joked about firing the kid and didn't do anything to try to make it right on my end.

We catered Banana Leaf for our wedding this past weekend and Kameron and Steve made it one of the best experiences we’ve ever had! When we went in for the taste test a few months prior, Kameron was extremely knowledgeable, answering our questions about the food, different dietary restriction options, and assisting us in estimating the approximate amount of dishes we would need for over 150 guests. Afterwards, Kameron was very communicative throughout the process as my wife and I had to make many many adjustments. During the wedding, although we did not see Kameron (as our food coordinator took care of that portion), he delivered the food earlier than expected (as it’s over an hour and a half away) and the food was absolutely amazing despite the dinner being two hours after he delivered the food. I would absolutely recommend Banana Leaf for any catering opportunities as you will not be disappointed in their service.

This is by far the best Asian restaurant I've experienced in the DFW. The food is amazing. The service is outstanding. The portions are more than enough. The lunch special is the best value. Kat always takes good care of me. On my last visit Selena didn't miss a beat! The owner Steve is great to talk to. He'll remind you that he's a Louisiana boy! I love this place.

Spicy Basil Fried Rice or Noodles are a hit. And the Orange or Mango Chicken is awesome. The Cajun fried Rice is my wife's favorite.

It has been 5 years since I visited here and the food is still fantastic! I had the jungle curry shrimp and my best friend had the fish kapow! Both dishes used very fresh and flavorful seafood with tasty herbs, vegetables and spices. The flavors made my taste buds dance. I flew in from NY just to have an early birthday celebration dinner here with my best friend. The service and hospitality was excellent. The manager and chef even agreed to accommodate us the next day by opening early on a Sunday so I could take fresh food home on the plane. Our server Lexi was bubbly and full of positive energy! This is an excellent restaurant to share a meal with family and friends. I absolutely recommend it. 💯!

Stopped by for the first time tonight. I got the black pepper garlic stir fry with beef. The flavor was great, the portion was generous, and the price was reasonable. The highlight of the visit, however, was the staff. Everyone was so nice and welcoming! The owner or manager (unsure which) recognized that her waitress was busy and stepped in to help take orders. The food came out fresh and hot. Our waitress and the owner/or manager both came by to check on us. You can tell there’s a sense of pride in this small business. Give them a try if you’re in the area!

Order for a staff lunch. The delivery was on time. They set up for us and everything was labeled for staff who have dietary restrictions. The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed themselves.

Great food. Salmon stir fry and yellow curry were great. The substitute fried rice could’ve been better, it just felt like sticky rice with no flavor.

I’m not kidding when I say this place is a 10/10. A true hidden gem! They’ve been around for 35+ years, and you can tell. The lunchtime crowd had almost every table full. The staff went above and beyond, and were so friendly and accommodating! The owner and his family were walking around and conversing with the tables.

If you haven't been to Banana Leaf, you are definitely missing out! The food is delicious, cozy atmosphere, friendly staff and this restaurant is super clean! Nothing but good vibes. The food comes out in a timely manner and is hot. The staff ensures that they check on the customers periodically, seeing if they need anything. I also like the fact that the staff comes around to refill drinks without the customer having to ask. I received nothing short of a smile while dinning in. Clearly, the owners and staff take much pride in what they do. Delivering good service and food is what this business does! I am giving this restaurant ten stars! Trust me, you won't be disappointed! Desert: There are plenty of options when it comes to the deserts. We had the opportunity to taste the strawberry homemade ice cream! Oh my goodness, this ice cream puts Blue bell and Braums to shame! You have to come on over and see for yourself.

*I also would like to mention, presentation is everything to me. I should have taken a picture of my food. I will ensure that I do next time. However, my plate had fancy cut cucumbers around my Cajun rice. Topped off with a little garnish of cilantro on top. I was like, okay!.......Love it!!!

We had Banana Leaf Thai Cuisine cater for our party at home. We had a diverse group of people attending our event, including teens, young children and parents, as well as several vegetarians and individuals with nut allergies, and different spice tolerances. Kameron took the time to work with us on a menu that would cater to all tastes and dietary preferences and restrictions, and invited us to the restaurant to sample the items. Steve, who founded the restaurant, met us at the restaurant and despite having a large party they were hosting there, talked to us about the menu and recommendations, given their experience catering to many parties, big and small, over the years. The father and son team was a pleasure to work with! The food tasted great, was generous in portions, and arrived at our home exactly when promised, steaming hot and delicious! Our guests were raving about the food and asking where we catered from. We will not hesitate to order from Banana Leaf for future parties, and we now have a new go to Thai restaurant for our family. I recently dined at Banana Leaf Thai Cuisine, hoping for an authentic and flavorful Thai cuisine experience. Unfortunately, the food fell short of my expectations.

The dishes lacked the vibrant flavors and freshness one typically associates with Thai cuisine. The Pad Thai was overly sweet, lacking the balance of tangy tamarind and savory fish sauce. The Green Curry, while rich in color, was missing the depth of flavor that makes this dish so special. The vegetables seemed undercooked, and the overall presentation was uninspired.

However, despite the culinary disappointments, the service at Banana Leaf Thai Cuisine was exceptional. The staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to ensure a pleasant dining experience.

This has to be my favorite restaurant for not only the food and the service but also the catering. In one phone call, I can give them the office to be catered, and they always already know what the office likes, how many and what time they start their noon meals. I have never been disappointed in the quality of the food and he’s always on time. Many of the Doctor’s offices I called on, would ask for Banana Leaf before I could even suggest a venue. They are definitely at the top of my list for catering needs!!!

Been going to Banana Leaf for years. Always good food, always good service, always a friendly atmosphere. They handled special request. I don’t know that I could say this about any place else, but I don’t believe I’ve ever had a bad meal there.

The QUALITY IS SUPERIOR, the PORTIONS ARE GENEROUS, and the VALUE IS EXCEPTIONAL.

I've been eating here with my family, friends, and co-workers for over 20 years. (I'm way overdue writing this review, but you should know that there are many reasons that I keep coming back, even on special occasions.)

Steve, the Cajun Asian, is the owner and worth the visit, even just to have a conversation with him. You'll know which one he is because he's almost always there and extremely friendly. He epitomizes what a restaurant owner should be.

I will even admit I am an Orange Chicken snob. You won't find a better serving anywhere in Dallas. Chicken is fresh and perfectly crisp, and the sauce is outstanding. You have your choice of rice (brown, fried or white) and can choose your level of spice, from 1 to 5.

I'm almost always too stuffed for dessert, but when we do splurge, the choices are excellent and delicious!

I was first introduced to Banana Leaf when we catered for work events. The owner himself, Steve, would deliver and set up for the event. I kept his number to contact him directly for future events. The food was always a hit that I started catering for my personal events too. Steve has always been quick to respond and put together an entire menu for me, which again received raves. Now his son, Kameron, has taken over and he has not let me down either! Whenever anyone asks me for a good Thai place, I always refer them to Banana Leaf. Go try them out if you haven’t yet!

Banana Leaf is my favorite restaurant. For one, it's BYOB, and the food is always consistent. I get the chicken lettuce wraps, and it's always enough for the next day or later. The vibe is chill, and the owners are always amiable and accommodating. I have tried other dishes, such as curry and salmon, which were very yummy. The food comes out fresh and is plated nicely. The menu is very affordable and has a variety of items to choose from. I love this place.

I never had experience with Thai food before until the taste from this place changed my world.
I was personally introduced to the owner Steve (he is a humble gentleman that definitely makes you feel like his family). He told me about his background and where his family is from in Lousiana. I can immediately relate to him because my family is from there, and he gives hugs that make's you miss your family back home. I order from Steve (Shrimp Thai Fried Rice) with a spice of 2. I would love to explain more what Lousiana culture tastes like in food when you know someone who cooks from there. But that would be an article you will need to read lol. Too explain in a short description of the Thai Fried Rice I had from there is: (the food will touch your soul like it was made from home.)
I love this family oriented restaurant with amazing and delicious recipes for many new people like me who need to try.
