Authenticity tastes really good and takes time. Everything is freshly cooked to order. Not your typical Thai and Lao style restaurant. Come try it out!
I recently ordered from them, and wow, their food blew me away! Every dish was packed with flavor, making it clear that they know how to do it right. I had their Pork Fried Rice, which was perfectly seasoned and cooked just right. The meat was tender, and the sauce had just the right balance of spice and richness.
I also tried their Drunken Chicken with Shrimp add-on, which was equally impressive. The ingredients tasted fresh, and every bite had a burst of flavor that kept me coming back for more. Even though I had it delivered, the food arrived hot, fresh, and just as delicious as if I were dining in.
Overall, they really delivered (pun intended) with mouth-watering, flavorful food. Highly recommend!
Let me just say, this place is so amazing! Very cute and cozy dining experience! Ingredients are so fresh and all the dishes I’ve tried are amazing! My absolute favorite is the Thai Fried Garlic Pork! I’ve ordered this dish time and time again! It’s a little bit crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside! The flavor is on point! Thai Papaya salad is also delicious! You can taste that tamarind tangy flavor! Everything on their menu is delicious and I plan on trying the rest!
I don't know where I have been to have missed this gem! The Chicken Pad Thai was phenomenal. It was not overly sweet and had just enough tang. The Basil dried rice was loaded with chicken. The flavor of the basil was not overpowering and it has a sort of smoky flavor. Lastly the Firecracker Shrimp rolls were so good I wanted to order 4 more just for myself! Overall, 🤌 Chef's kiss
We have been going to this awesome place for the past few years now and for us, it’s always been a 5 star 💯🤙🤙. They are consistent with quality and great service 🙏🏻🙏🏻🤙💯. I wish they an Instagram 😀👍.
Thai Fried Garlic Pork, Lao Sausage, Pad See Ew Chicken, Lao Papaya Salad, Spring Rolls, Khanom Jeen Nam Ngiao (Beef in Chili Garlic Lemongrass Tomato Beef Broth).
This place is delicious. The food is extremely fresh. Just be careful if you order spicy because when they say spicy, it is actually spicy. Unlike some other Asian restaurants they make chili fresh from scratch. Everything we had was so fresh and felt like real clean eating. The pricing was fair as well, and the portions were generous. Would definitely recommend.
We accidentally found this spot while visiting Georgia this past weekend! If you love Laotian/Thai/ Hmong food, this is your spot! The food was delicious. I got a chance to speak with the owner. Very nice guy and young too. This restaurant is your type of mom and pop shop. We’ll definitely be back next time we visit.
I can't believe I almost forgot to share one of my new favorite go-to spots! 😳 If you're ever in Buford (off exit 8 on 985), you have to check out SALLY'S KITCHEN THAI AND LAO. My cousin @joe_hall01 was raving about this place not long after they opened, and after my first visit, I totally get why! 🙌
Every dish I've tried here has been nothing short of amazing. Their BEEF PHO, PAD SEE EW, DRUNKEN NOODLES, FRIED RICE, SPRING ROLLS, EGG ROLLS, MEATBALLS, CURRY... the list goes on and on. 🤤
Now, the pictures might not do the food justice because the dining area has that cozy, dim lighting, and I don’t always carry the gear I should for the perfect shot. 😂 But trust me, the food speaks for itself!
The service is super polite, and the prices? Most dishes are around $13-$15. My favorite Pad See Ew plate is just $13—thirteen!! And no worries about parking; there’s a whole strip of stores and restaurants. 🚗
I don’t often repeat places because there’s just so much out there to try, but when I need a guaranteed good meal after a tough day or week, Sally's is where I'm heading. 💯
I highly recommend you give them a try and let me know what you think!
#rolieats #goodeats #goodfood #sallyskitchen #buford #thaifood
Edit: Their pork belly isn't often on their specials but when available you should check them out if you're a fan of pork belly! Perfectly fried and they go well with the sticky rice
Got a takeout Red Curry. It smelt soooooo goooood all the way home. Well packed and made it home with no spilling.
💯 fabulous taste and very generous portions.
Didn't eat in so can't say anything about the atmosphere. The food was ready for pick up at the scheduled time and I was greeted and thanked by the young lady there.

This place is a gem, it feels like home cooking. Their curries are some of the best I've ever had (and we moved from the West Coast). I'm not a noodle guy but those are also really good (especially drunken noodles). And the staff is great to boot. Highly recommended.
Absolutely delicious
The food here is absolutely amazing!! My goodness
My mom enjoyed her food, she always comes here to eat. My food was okay, a little too salty for me.
Very Good Flavorful Food ! Have been Here several times!
My dad and I love trying new Thai spots. I specifically chose this place to try because it seemed like a nice mom and pop shop & I feel that’s where you get the best tasting / authentic food.
I was right! The place was really cute, had nice Thai music playing & the food was amazing.
I ordered Thai fried rice and it was flavored amazingly. I also had an order of the fried pork which was crispy and melt in your mouth at the same time. My dad ordered the pad Thai and said it was really good and they got it as spicy as he wanted it !
I would put 10 if i could. Food was excellent, affordable and service was super fast. Will be back again!!
Food was exceptional. Great place for Thai.
This place was excellent! The food was great and the service was friendly and quick. I will say that it’d be nice if the music was just a little bit lower but it is a karaoke place so I guess that is expected. Great restaurant!
Have y'all changed management recently or about to go out of business? I've eaten here about 30+ times at least. Everything was good until a couple months ago. Sporadically unavailable menu items are now routinely unavailable. Even worse, the food that can be ordered has deteriorated in quality and flavor. Most recent meal was a major disappointment. Please restore the staff to they way things were before.
Restaurant it's small really under staff we try to order a little bit of everything but must dishes were not available. Tom kha soup was our favorite but $7 for a super small portion and they don't have any other size. Food was spicy no problem with that but portions too small for a $14 plate of rice ...
Amazing food in a convenient location. Check this restaurant out! Great Thai food!

The food isn’t always consistent (dried chicken pieces today) but when it’s good, it’s pretty good. Just an fyi, unless I missed a sign businesses usually have about this, they don’t disclose that they’ll be tacking on a small unknown amount (a dollar or so?) if you use your credit card– they seem to quickly manually input the amount into the credit card machine before handing the machine to you at the time it asks if you want to tip. And they will stare directly at you as you’re pressing the buttons. I knew this because I was quickly corrected for pressing the wrong button when adding the tip. I’m all for tipping (always 20% unless it was an awful experience) and more when it’s deserved, sometimes even for takeout if they’re friendly… but not while feeling pressured to do so by someone who just handed me the food. If the food was consistent, it’d be worth it. However, that’s not the case and I won’t be going back.
Good local spot to eat. All of our dishes were great. Definitely worth a visit!
Drunken Noodles (Hot) is a must try.
I have been here plenty of times, doing takeout, delivery and dine-in. It has been an excellent experience each time. The food always tastes so fresh and really good. I always get the same thing because it’s my favorite(Thai red curry, but I get mine with tofu and more vegetables), but I’ve tried other things on the menu and none have disappointed. The young man who works in the front is always really helpful and super nice. Food is great, service is great, and the atmosphere is good. It’s sometimes a bit dark during the later hours of the day, and it isn’t anything really fancy, but I am content with what they do have. I most definitely recommend this to anyone!!
Their food reminds me of my trip to Thailand. Authentic and so flavorful!! I’m in love ❤️

The food was delicious and authentic. We are happy to support small businesses and people who take pride in their work. Also super happy they are right around the corner!! We will likely become regulars here.
Best Thai food I've ever eaten.

Unlike some other Asian restaurants they make chili fresh from scratch. Everything we had was so fresh and felt like real clean eating. The pricing was fair as well, and the portions were generous. This is the most authentic Thai/Asian food I have had in North GA. Their Khao soi is amazing!! The service was great too. Definitely coming back.
Delicious food!
Had the beef red curry with sticky rice, it was delish😋.
We accidentally found this spot while visiting Georgia this past weekend! If you love Laotian/Thai/ Hmong food, this is your spot! The food was delicious. I got a chance to speak with the owner. Stopped in as a detour going home to Charlotte, from Atlanta. As natives, we really enjoyed the available options! So we dug right in and ordered a spread! Most of the food we ordered, we really enjoyed. The only thing my wife didn't prefer was the drunken noodles as it was more like pad thai. Customer service was tentative and food was served in a very timely manner (group of 8 - only one other smaller party). Our party said this place was definitely a hit and worth the detour! Ambiance was nice, great setting. I enjoyed being able to dine in familiarity with food and music / vibes. Makes me jealous of the more hmong populated states like California and Minnesota! But nonetheless, we are absolutely spreading the word about your restaurant and it will spread like wild fire! (Our fat families and friends love to eat!) Thanks again for the hospitality! Wishing many blessings to yal! 🙌
Great customer service and tasty dishes.
Home cooking traditional food. Hooked on the food, everything is fresh.
I ordered takeout from here but called to ask a few questions (twice). The guy who answered the phone was so nice and detailed. I had the Khao Soi and it was AMAZING!!! I’ll definitely be ordering again!
We would buy chocolate chip cookies from a place called "Sally's Kitchen" in Juneau, Alaska in the 70's, so we had to go here, amazingly good food, Thai red curry & lemon grass shrimp salad ... highly recommend, but alas no Alaskan cookies, but fantastic Thai and Laoian food (with Hmong videos playing)...
Awesome experience for your taste buds except when you bite into that red pepper. Don't do it! OK, I'm not a spicy pepper expert.
Waitress was kind, and the atmosphere made me think I was back in Taiwan.
You can even reserve the karaoke machine. I'm wondering if they can do it for popular American songs?
Overall, it was a great dinner!
Thanks Sally!
What an excellent meal. We ordered the summer rolls appetizers. The peanut sauce was so flavorful. Tom Kha soup was spectacular. I get this every Thai place I go and Sally’s is among the best I’ve ever eaten. The pa-kra pow pork dish was very good. We ate every bite!
Really enjoyed our first trip here and will return. We came because my wife wanted to try the Khao Soi, which our son had enjoyed in Asia. I had the Pork Belly Stir Fry. Both were excellent. You can request different levels of spicy heat. We met friends there who like it hotter than we do, and they loved their meals as well. The service was great. The atmosphere is simple but clean and pleasant.
We ordered the Thai Basil Fried Rice and Veggie Drunken Noodles for takeout, but both dishes lacked flavor. We were extremely disappointed with the taste. The noodles were excessively oily, making them unappetizing, and the rice was burnt and had a burnt smell. I'm not sure about the atmosphere of the restaurant, but I am baffled by its 4.6 rating. Extremely disappointed.
This is one of those local hole in the walls that serves amazing food. Everything I've tried has been absolutely amazing. The ingredients are fresh and high quality and the flavours are always great.
Service is slow due to the low employee count, but I'll take that any day over bad food or high prices. Staff is super friendly.
Prices are super reasonable; rare these days.
Music is a bit too loud most days. But that's about the only negative here.
This food BUSSIN!!!!
The Basil Fried Rice is actually the best fried rice I've EVER had.
Excelente para degustar y compartir en familia, el servicio 100% recomedado
I love getting take out from here! Tons of delicious flavors! The basil chicken fried rice is my favorite thing to order
Fantastic experience! I had the Laab raw beef salad and the spicy jungle pork. I recommend the sour option for the Laab raw beef. The rice was pretty bland, but adding the garlic chili paste made it great. I was greeted warmly and had a great experience throughout. I'll definitely be back to try different options! Highly recommended!
I went to this place a couple times and the food was okay nothing exceptional. Maybe expensive for what I got which was sushi and various other side dishes such as rice fried rice. I compare it to Publix sushi in a box. But the additional money I won't go back.
Ordered 5 entrees (5 people) and was told 45 minutes for the meals to be ready for pick up. Long, but I figured it would be worth it so I agreed.
Arrived and was told another 35 min, by this time lunch is late.
Waited the 35 min and still standing here another 20 minutes later (~2 hour wait) writing this review.
The food was very good here. It's probably the best Thai/Lao restaurant I have tried in the Atlanta metro area so far. It isn't as good as my favorite Thai place, which is unfortunately too far from me now, "White Pearl" in Elgin, Illinois. The only reason this place doesn't get a higher rating is that the Thai tea comes in a can and isn't made fresh, and the music is a bit loud for a small place.
Legit. This restaurant has such fantastic Thai/Lao food. Amazing flavors. The staff is super friendly. Can’t recommend this place enough. I was in town for work a few months ago, came in here and was obsessed. I was stoked to come back as soon as I found out I had work in town again
10/10
Should have realized when it was only take out at 7:30 on Friday night we might have picked the wrong place. Have had lots of Thai food and this was subpar. Thai noodles are generally dry but not to the point of little taste. Almost mo vegetables in dish that was vegetarian. One and done.
Tasty food and nice employees.
However, I was eating leftover red curry today and bit down on 2 small black rocks/pebbles. Not ideal for customers' teeth.
We had the Pad Thai and the Red Curry Chicken. Both were excellent and the staff very friendly. Everything was made fresh!!!
A little whole in the wall small business, Food was very flavorful and delicious!
Sally's Kitchen is absolutely the bomb! 💣. Have been here several times now and must commend them for their consistent quality and outstanding dishes of delicious Lao and Thai food right here in the heart of Buford. Their menu is vast but so far we've tried and recommend their Khao Soi (yum!), Drunken noodles, Pad See Ew, Pad Thai, Thai Beef Salad, Lao Papaya salad (mild is best), and firecracker shrimp. they had on special and two Thai teas which come in cans. All dishes are made to order so there is a bit of wait sometimes when they are busy, but the flavor and quality of the dishes more than make up for it. This restaurant certainly has a mom and pop feel to it and I'm all for supporting this local business. The decor of the restaurant was cute and clean.
Overall, we were happy with our experiences and are happy this is a regular spot for us for thai and Lao food.
Thank you to Sally's Kitchen and they get a solid 5 stars for me! Two thumbs way up!!
Please stay in business forever!
we got the red curry with tofu, basil fried rice with tofu, pad see ew with tofu, and summer drink. the summer drink i did like but i will say it may be more of an acquired taste and texture so i would not recommend it to those who have texture aversions. i really was hoping to have a better spice level as we ordered medium but next time i will know to order spicy. overall not a bad thai spot if you don’t like spice with very kind service.
Absolutely a hidden jem..fantastic fresh food.
We ordered take out for dinner and it one of the best take outs we’ve had in a while. I’m obsessed with their lemongrass shrimp salad! I made it extra spicy and it was SO good and fresh. Their pad thai with tofu was also delicious along with the basil fried rice. Was a bit disappointed they don’t make their own thai teas but the can wasn’t so bad. The order didn’t take long at all, 15 mins.
My kids took me there for Mother's day lunch and the food was great I had Thai Red Curry Chicken and crispy Spring Rolls love the dipping sauce for the Spring Rolls I asked if I can buy some but the young man gives me some of the sauce for free the dipping sauce taste took me back to my Country I recommend this restaurant 100% if you love Asian food
I like how Sally's Kitchen offers a variety of papaya salads. The portion size is a good amount and worth your money. So far I've had the Kapoon(i LOVED it), Pork belly fries( DIFFERENT + CREATIVE) , pad thai, nam Khao, eggrolls and thai salad. They were all very tasteful! I will always be a returning customer.
I, admittedly, was not excited to eat here because these are my people's food, but I was so wrong! My mind and taste buds were lit up in the best way possible.
Food: Got the beef salad and pineapple fried rice. Wonderfully seasoned fried rice and would get it more spicy for myself next time. Beef salad was absolutely delicious with authentic southeast Asian flavors of umami, salty, and sweet hitting your mouth. My wife got the garlic pork, wonderfully made where the fat was rendered soft and lean was still a bite. My boys got flavored noodle dishes that they admitted were better than what we make at home. Basil chicken was good and overall nothing for me to complain about. I can't wait to go again but on the weekend.
Service: This isn't a full service restaurant. Don't expect a wait staff. Order at the counter and you can sit in the restaurant to eat or take it out.
Atmosphere: It's chill.
Overall, I left pleasantly surprised and full. If you're expecting a typical Chinese sesame chicken place, go somewhere else. This is Southeast Asian cuisine well represented.
Amazing food. Had the curry and pork belly. We’ll definitely be back.
First time! Food was excellent and the service very friendly. We will definitely be back to try more dishes!
Very tasty food! The chicken basil was phenomenal! Can’t wait to try another dish!
Best Lao/ Thai food in GA in my opinion. Flavor is on point!. The guy at the front is awesome. We got the papaya plater. Pad Thai chicken and Lao papaya salad. All Item was awesome. We will definitely be back for more. Can’t get enough.
We ordered the papya platter and it was both delicious and authentically prepared!
Great food. Really friendly. Don't miss the karaoke nights, Friday and Saturday 9:30 p.m. to 1:30. Reservations required for karaoke nights. REALLY GOOD FOOD!
This was my first time having Thai and it did not disappoint. I asked the worker what he would suggest I get and gave me great recommendations. Very kind staff and great food.
Love love love the atmosphere & the owners are so down to earth. & the fooooood….It’s so authentic & delicious. 10/10
I ordered the papaya platter, pa-kra pow, and Lao sausage rice plate. Everything was sooo delicious! All of the flavors were hitting the spot! The papaya salad (Lao style) is the best papaya salad I've ever had at a restaurant! I will definitely be coming back!
I want to be as fair as possible. The staff is nice, the restaurant is clean. Other things…could use improvement in my opinion. When I got there, the computer system was down so they couldn’t take credit card. I suggested Zelle, which they said was alright. I gave a decent tip through Zelle as well, before even sitting down to eat the food. The pad thai came out, and it was looking pretty small. It also turned out to be REALLY REALLY salty and oversauced. For the amount of tamarind, they should have put in twice as much noodles and vegetables. I drank the entire Publix bottle of water they gave me, trying to deal with the salt. (They said the fountain machine was down..?). So imagine my shock when I asked for another bottle of water, and was told no.
A bottle of Publix water can’t be more than 75 cents, tops. You’re telling me that my first time visit, tip, and future patronage is not worth a second water bottle? I’m not trying to mess with your bottom line. I’m trying to mitigate the amount of salt I just ingested. It is offensive to be denied water, at a RESTAURANT.
The firecracker shrimp rolls are good, though. However, I’m afraid I won’t be coming back.
I will have to say the food here is pretty amazing. You just have to be patient cuz it is a new facility.
I loved it very much there I had a huge meal there the server was cute and very helpful with all the meals and meanings also too the food can be extremely spicy so please be sure you tell the server the level of spice you can handle they are very understanding and very generous with the portions of food you order you will not be hungry they are very authentic in their Thai and Lao cuisines but I also think they have Hmong dishes there as well I’m just guessing because of the music played I loved it and felt great the atmosphere is warm and welcoming I highly recommend this place for the food ambiance and the people who are so kind. Definitely will go and eat again.👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏
Amazing !! I had never tried Lao food before and I was really excited to try it. I had the pork normai and it did NOT disappoint ! Definitely coming back- great local restaurant !
Sally's Kitchen is good. Best Pad Thai Chicken around Georgia. A good price and nice size portion. Spice level sides on spicy, which I like. I had takeout, and everything still tasted fresh and cooked perfectly. Ya'll should try this spot for sure.
Food was outstanding, very rich and great flavour, great service , good experience. It’s a bit self service but they’re working on it.
Authentic Thai/Lao food
Really enjoy their papaya salad , and other dishes good too .
The food was so delicious and service was incredibly friendly and quick. The position sizes here are no joke so come hungry!
I have eaten at many Thai restaurants before. I was somewhat disappointed in this one. The curry was soupy, and it all lacked a little kick. Over all, not a bad flavor, but more money than I would have normally spent for the quality.
The food is simply amazing!! This is a hidden gem among restaurants in the area. Everything is cooked fresh and you can tell that they take pride in their food and heritage.
I’m so happy that I found this hidden gem so close to home! Very authentic and owner was so nice! We ordered pad thai, drunken noodles and some fresh spring rolls! (Best ones I’ve ever had so far) everything was so on point and you can choose the spicyness level! Definitely will come back so excited to try more dishes!! Support local businesses 💗
There's a lot to unpack here, but I ordered online about 10 minutes after they opened at 5:10 p.m. It said my order was going to be ready around 5:35. I waited for another 25 minutes for my order to be ready after that; it wasn't ready until 6:00. I think the worst part about the whole thing is that when I got there at 5:35, he told me it was only gone be another 10 or 15 minutes. It ended up being much longer, and in the end, the soup that I ordered still had onions on it when I requested no onions. I had waited so long at that point I just took the soup and left. That being said, the fried rice is actually pretty good, and the soup without the onions tastes okay.
There's also a very interesting mix of Thai music videos and Thai rap videos that I've honestly never seen before. And I've been to Thailand four or five times. I'm no expert, but that was a new one on me.
Best beef Nam tok. You want good foods, Sally is one. Will definitely go again .
This place we found on a map it is so good we loved it. Loved it. Loved it. The food is fantastic.
It's a good place to try out. The food tastes good and gets food prepared relatively quickly. If you choose to eat inside, food is still in takeout containers. I chose to bring food home, but she someone else eating at the restaurant. Only bad thing is they only have one menu for lunch and dinner. Lunch cost me around $17.
I visited a Thai/Lao restaurant and tried their pineapple cashew chicken fried rice and rice noodle soup with chicken meatballs in red spicy coconut curry broth. The flavors were pretty authentic, but the sweet undertone might not be suitable for those who prefer less sweetness in their food. The service was great, enhancing the overall dining experience.
Delicious food and friendly staff! Will definitely be back often
Amazing food and service!
Nice selection on Thai food.
Amazing. Really great food, fresh ingredients. Service was everything we needed. Will be coming back here many many times! Really recommend the Khao Soi
A great Thai option in the Buford area! We got the pad thai chicken and basil chicken. Fresh food, small business, nice clean atmosphere.
Absolutely delicious! The firecracker shrimp rolls were so good. Pad Thai was wonderful and the curry is the best I’ve ever had! Just wish it was a sit down place with nice ambiance.
Excellent Thai food, we had the pineapple fried rice it was one of the best I've ever had. The server it's 3 people all at once and being so nice at all of them. Definitely a place I will come back again.
Great place - I got the Pho Xieng Khouang and loved it!
Red Curry Chicken was amazing! I think I found my new Thai place!
Amazing food!!! We will definitely be back!
First time ordering takeout from here and was able to enjoy a very good meal.
I want to love everything about this place because the owners are so friendly, trying and accommodating and would of given 5 stars for the food but I can't.
I've ordered food for pick up here now 3 times and 75% of my orders have been INCREDIBLE, and the others not so good. I love to try different dishes, especially some of the Lao Dishes because they're so unique.
If you stay away from the Pork, you should be ok. The few dishes I had were border line uneatable due to chunks of fat and grizzle that go "crunch" when you bite down...yuk. This was true of the Lao Sausage and Spicy Pork I had recently and a hard no to take a chance some time in the future. Unfortunately, this place is pretty hidden so I don't think a lot of people can see it from the road. Pretty much a place to pick up and take home, not really a full service restaurant. My only suggestion is that if you're going to serve any kind of meat, make sure it's the best available sans the fat, cartilage etc. or don't include it on the menu. Everything else is too good to allow a few dishes to ruin the reputation of an otherwise good menu
Been to so many Thai/Lao restaurants, nothing beats this place. This place amazes me, foods are real authentic taste and the price definitely reasonable.
Finally, authentic Southeast Asian tastes outside of Chamblee! Being Thai and living here in North Gwinnett county, I've been super disappointed with the Americanized taste of Southeast Asian cuisine in this area. We ordered 4 dishes today - note that 2 of the dishes are only available on Saturdays and Sundays. The restaurant is setup where you order at the counter, but they bring the food to you at the table and clean up the table after you leave. We arrived when they opened at 1pm and we were the 3rd family in the restaurant. We didn't wait too long for our food and the girls working the front were courteous and attentive.
We got the Larb Chicken spicy vs the mild that's standard and if you like spicy foods, you've got to get this one. They use fresh mint and fresh cabbage, but there could've been more cabbage for the amount of Larb. The Thai Fried Garlic Pork was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The pho was flavorful and the pork belly was crispy. I highly recommend this restaurant although I wish they offered the pork belly and sticky rice dish on Fridays.
Best authentic Thai and Lao food in Buford
We just moved to the area, and I think we’ve already found our new favorite local restaurant! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, just like the food! Everything was piping hot and delicious. The drunken noodles are a must have. We will definitely be be back soon!
Best fried garlic pork I have ever had!!! 100% recommend
Came here on a whim to tey their Thai Beef Salad and wasn't disappointed. The dish was fresh and delicious and had plenty of beef to fill me up. The service was prompt and friendly. I'll be sure to be back to try more of the menu.
Food and service was great!
Don’t sleep on this one folks.
If you’re looking for a fresh, homemade, and flavorful alternative to the area’s staid Asian offerings, then this is your place. Everything I tried was outstanding - Tom Kha, Thai Red Curry, Pad See Ew, Fresh Summer Rolls. If you’re into new flavors, order the Lao styles. The Green Papaya Salad is an absolute heater - fresh, funky, and spicy.
This place is my going to be my new “go-to.” No heat and serve chain food here.
Delightful!
Food was delicious. Service was fast. Hope they do well in this location.
Excellent food! Will be coming back in order to sample more Lao food.
I live in Los Angeles and was in town visiting family and was craving some Thai food so I decided to stop in. The staff is very friendly, helpful and sincere. I ordered the papaya salad with medium spice which was good. I think if you enjoy spicy food though, you should order it with hot level spice and you’ll be fine because medium wasn’t too spicy. I also had the traditional Tom yum soup with chicken which was very good. And last I had the summer rolls which I also enjoyed. One suggestion for the rolls though is that using one or two romaine leaves per roll might be better because the shredded lettuce was a little messy and I think a slightly bigger size of the peanut dipping sauce would be great too. I recommend this spot and look forward to returning next time I visit the area.
When my boyfriend and I saw this place advertised as “Thai and Lao” we were extremely excited to have a Laos restaurant nearby as there are not many around. We were soon very disappointed that it was not authentic Lao food. We wish they would advertise what they really are because we were expecting something else. We still wanted to give it a try because we love trying new cuisines. Unfortunately, were disappointed again. The decor was really cute. Their customer service was great when we went to order. The items we wanted to try were only available on the weekend. We ordered the fungus salad which was very tasty. The bad thing about it was the shrimp tasted undercooked.. they were squishy and tough. We also ordered the papaya salad but something about it tasted off. The last thing we ordered was pad see ew which was lacking flavor and the noodles were a bit too hard. We told ourselves we would give it another chance and try other things on the menu another time because maybe we just ordered the wrong things. Fast forward to last week when my brother went to order food and offered to bring me some. He told them they had “Lao pho” available that day so I decided to try that. I do not want to be offensive but it was honestly inedible. It was extremely salty and it was 100% not Laos pho. The broth was very dark and I know Laos pho is clear. It is very similar to Vietnamese pho with slight differences. After this experience I do not think we will be eating here again.
Yes!! So good! This is a little hidden gem that you won't want to share...but you totally should!
It's not a big place so with just a bit more of awareness, they will be packed! I came in around 1 and there was a good amount of ppl. The drunken noodles with chicken were spot on. T came out within about 7-8 mins which I thought was pretty fast. I opted for "medium" heat to test it out which was a good choice. I will try the "hot" next time but hesitant about the "very hot"!
Give it a shot! U can thank me later!
I love this place. The food is so good and the employees are so helpful and friendly. Will definitely be back?
Food was delicious. I wish some of their food wasn't spicy already. For those of us who can't eat spice it can be too spicy for us. In this case it was . I still wanted to try the dishes however I will not buy them again due to it being spicy. The laos sausages was too sweet for my liking. Laos style papaya was perfect. The bitter soup was good, however I would like for the beef to be more tender and more have intestines. The Thai garlic fried pork was delicious..
The Thai beef salad was good, however it's to spicy for me. Pakapow was good. Will I return, definitely. Do I recommend this place, yes.
Eating at Sally’s kitchen is like eating a delicious, home made, authentic cuisine. The food is fresh and flavorful. The portion sizes are shareable as well! It can get pretty busy on the weekends, so I suggest going earlier in the day. They also only serve certain dishes on the weekend and week days. I can’t wait to try all of their dishes!
Food was excellent.
Excellent food, very flavorful. Will definitely return!
The food is amazing 🤩
Exceptional food, they are always able to adjust to my dietary restrictions. I've had curry, pineapple, fried rice, and papaya salad here. A solid weekly choice to add to the regime. I like that there food is not overbearing with salt and you can tell the staff takes pride in every dish they put out.
I haven’t had good Thai food since moving to Georgia, I ordered some tonight for the first time and it’s was fresh flavorful and for sure made with care. The lady at the counter was very polite and friendly. I’m glad they are in my area
I ordered like 5 different dishes and loved them all.
Great experience! Flavors galore! You should definitely try the new shrimp roll appetizers.
I went to Sally's Kitchen on their opening week on a Saturday. The food was good. Why a 4-star and not a 5? They were out on a lot of things. I'm assuming they're testing their menu on what sells and what doesn't to see if it's worth allocating the ingredients or simply making the dish. My rule of thumb is, if that's the case, to keep a limited menu of only what you're going to sell or change the menu daily to accommodate all the types of different dishes (this creates supply and demand and will have customers crave for certain days on what dishes/platters are being served).
When you go up to order something only to find out it's sold out and the inventory in the back of the house wasn't correctly done, It's disappointing.
I look forward to returning after all the rough edges are worked out and corrected to give it a 5-star rating.
Until then keep it up.
I was so excited to find out this restaurant was opening as it is really close to my house but unfortunately it was a total disappointment. I’ve been there three times now, and while the food is average at best, the service is lacking. The Thai tea they sell is bottled as are all of their drinks. Also, they have very strange hours. What other restaurant opens at 1 PM on weekends? Not impressed.
Staff is attentive, good atmosphere, and delicious food. I’ve had the Tom Kha soup, pork belly special, and papaya platter (nice sampler). Everything has been delicious. I will continue to work my way through the menu to experience new things. Most items are served in to-go containers, which is fine with me as their portions usually leave me with some for later!! The kind young lady at the counter even remembered me from my first visit a week prior.
We did take out and I have to say the food was really good. Prices and portions were on point. Hope they can keep this up. I just wish a little more sauce and peanuts toppings for the chicken pad Thai.
It's OK
I purchased the papaya platter and raw beef laab at different times, and each time my order was tasty and authentic. The papaya platter has different items on there to sample so that is a great choice if you are uncertain about what to buy, just be aware that this dish is served on certain days. The raw beef laab is very flavorful so if you are skeptical about trying something raw, you can barely tell it’s actually raw! The atmosphere in the restaurant is great and cozy. The staff is really friendly and helpful, especially if you have questions about certain items on the menu. You can also customize how spicy you want your order, if you prefer a more mild or very spicy level. I definitely recommend this place to others who are wanting to try authentic South East Asian food.
Spice lovers assemble! The food is incredibly authentic, Hmong pepper sauce is super delicious and spicy, service was great will be a regular for sure.
Food was amazing. Staff was friendly. Can't wait to go back.
It was good. I hope I can be a longtime customer.
Promised these guys if it was good would post a review.
It’s better than good. Give this a try.
Great job Sally, that girl. 🤣. Seriously, great tasting food.
Our first time and did take out. The food is amazing! My family tried drunken noodles, basil fried rice, pad thai, red curry, egg rolls, spring rolls and coconut soup.We all took a taste of it all. So flavorful, fresh veggies, perfect amount of sauces. Their food was yummy and delicious! We will be eat there again. Very excited you are here and open.
Congratulations and we will see you again soon!
I was kind of expecting a bit more of a wow experience with this restaurant. I’m not a rest. Manager or owner but I’d like to give y’all some ideas or tips that could possibly help y’all in the near future.
Before all else, i had gotten the fungus salad which was a bit spicy, which I knew. I also got mama van and I actually loved both the dish. My friend had gotten pho. Although her pho barely had any broth and there was too much noodles. It was plain, not enough meat, the meat was hard also dry. I’m no pho expert but I believe the broth is to be the most important part of the dish.
Being the fact that the fungus salad is spicy, the pho being dry and little to no broth, I’d imagine there would be complimentary water. Complimentary water would be great! Maybe a water jug filter and small cups for self serve would help?
Other than that. The workers and the space was absolutely accommodating. Thank you and I hope this was of some help! :)
So good. Support them.
Thai Fried Garlic Pork was excellent!
Bitter beef soup and raw beef laab (bitter style) are lights out.
Love the pho broth!
