The curry, even though I asked for medium spice, was extremely spicy and completely inedible. When I brought it to their attention and mentioned that the spice level was too high to eat, they dismissed my concern and told me it was my problem. To make matters worse, they simply handed me a to-go container.
This was my first and definitely my last visit!
If I cooked Thai food, I would hope it would taste exactly like this incredible meal. I ordered 1 in heatness…their scale is 1-3…and I found it to be a 0. Maybe my tastebuds are getting braver…hahaha.
We got there early just two couples and when we left packed. Oh, and takeaway was busy, too.
The upfront workers were more than pleasant. We’ll be back.
I love Bambu Thai! This is a weekly staple sometimes twice a week. The spice level is perfect and exactly what it should be. Portions are a good size and they will add veggies and substitute protein upon request. You will not be disappointed!
Our new favorite Thai restaurant. The service is friendly and the waitress made some awesome recommendations so we try some new dishes. The cured sausage/meat was very good. The fried rice was a surprise. Didn’t expect fried rice to be so tasty. LOL. The desserts were creative and more transitional ones were great. Check it out.
Wonderful Hidden Gem !!!!
Was given a suggestion by a friend to give Bambu in Richardson a try if I enjoyed Thai food, which I do. Thought I would drop in for lunch today and found a "Hidden Thai Gem" in Richardson that everyone should put on their regular restaurant list.
Met at the front door with a fantastic greeter in a young lady that continued as our waitstaff throughout the meal and we could not have asked for better service - it was fabulous !
Now to the most important - the food, two dishes were ordered at our table and both of them went above board on appearance and taste. The first one was Panang Curry - we decided to order this on a spice level 2. You can order on spice levels 1-3. Our decision was perfect for our taste. Very spicy but not over the top that it masked the tastes of the ingredients which included Chicken, coconut milk, bell pepper, zucchini, kaffir lime leaves, Thai basil all swimming in a broth that was incredible. Off to the side was a mound of Jasmine Rice - our decision was to combine the two into one dish and what an amazing combination we achieved.
Our second dish was the Bambu Specialty Crab Fried Rice which came with just the right amount of ingredients of meat, egg, tomatoe, onion, and scallions. It came out as a fried rice dish that made a meal in itself with no need for any addition seasonings.
The owners of the establishment came over and introduced themselves to us due to the fact that we had been referred to them and they were so gracious and had their space so well decorated in the era to note not only present time asian cultures but past time asian cultures as well. The interior was very well done.
So if you have not found this "Hidden Thai Gem" in Richardson, venture off to the southeast corner of Coit/Campbell - trust me, you will not be disappointed !!
Very consistent. Great stuff wonderful authentic food...
Bambu is our absolute favorite Thai spot, and our go-to neighborhood restaurant. We have eaten here many, many times, and the food is ALWAYS amazing (and consistent!). We have tried almost everything on the menu, but our favorites are pad see ew, green curry, crying tiger beef, Tom yum soup, Isan sausage and meing kham.
Their cocktails are spectacular, and their wine selection is always top notch.
Really can’t say enough good things about Bambu. The icing on the cake is how sweet and welcoming the owners, Jason and Shelly, are.
Food and service are good. At lunch you will be given complimentary soup.
Bambu is a MUST if you like Thai food. Every dish I’ve tried has been delicious and the staff and owners are so sweet and accommodating.

Great curry dishes!
Love this place, great for date, great staff and food is so good.
Great pad Thai!
Best Thai!!!
Our server was very helpful and friendly. Food was yummy.
Always a great choice for a delicious, quick lunch in a great atmosphere. I love the steamed dumpling appetizer.
Great food and friendly staff. Highly recommend trying the specials from the menu on the chalkboard. Very unique dishes.
Had the Sea Bass - this place/food was fantastic. I’ve been reading a lot of the negative reviews. They don’t seem legit.
Food was great, staff was kind, and the restaurant was a cool environment. I like that they have a cheaper lunch menu
The best Thai place around!
Words can’t describe how great this place is! They had the best Thai food we’ve ever eaten. The papaya salad is to die for. The owners are also super sweet and you can tell they put care and love in their food.

This was my first time visiting Babbu and we really enjoyed it. The yea was wonderful, the food was great and we had really warm, friendly service.
This is a post about management, not the food or service both of which are good.
For context we’ve been going to Bambu since it opened and during the pandemic we picked up at least once a week there because I wanted to see a local place make it. So tonight my daughter and I went and we both ordered pad see ewe with chicken, mild for her medium for me. Both came out super spicy, great for me, but impossible to eat for her. Mistakes happen and we asked that hers be remade mild as we ordered. When the waiter bright it back (perfectly mild this time) he admitted the kitchen messed up but also told us that the owners told him next time a dish comes out too spicy THEY WILL NOT REMAKE IT. I asked him to repeat that because I couldn’t believe what he just told me. Sure enough, that’s what they said. He even apologized. Hard to imagine a restaurant getting out of sorts about a $12 dish that THEY MESSED UP, and are willing to lose customers over it, but here we are. Too bad—they make a fantastic pad see ewe, but I guess we’ll go to Asian Mint from now on. Can’t risk being forced to pay for and eat a dish we didn’t order. Crazy.
I love hanging out with friends at Bambu. We had fresh conch larb (off menu special) ... so yummy! We also have oyster salad, creamy Pacific Coast oysters tossed in a spicy-citrus dressing with fried onions and garlic. The Pad Kee Mao Boran is always a go-to for me - fresh, thick rice noodles with its aromatic "wok" char. We also have a bottle of 2016 Twommey Merlot, always love exploring their wine menu - very extensive and diverse.
I’ve tried this place craving for good Thai food. It was ok. I don’t think I’ll go back though.
This is a local gem! It’s a bit small, but bright and cheery with a terrific staff. The yellow curry was very thin for my liking but still good. The prices are very fair and we felt very comfortable here. Would love to come back!
Bambu’s food is exceptional! They have the kindest staff, owners, and the restaurant is spotless. I have never been disappointed with a dish whether dining in or taking out. Best Thai food in the metroplex.
I’ve been going to this restaurant since I was a little kid and the quality of food and service has always been impeccable. Shelley who owns the restaurant is lovely and amazing and always says hi. Please come and get the crying tiger beef and black rice pudding!!
One of my favorite thai places in dallas! Never fails 🙌🏼
Everyone is righteous, honorable, noble, kind, and has great customer service.
Fascinated with the service and environment. So refreshing and peaceful!
The tea is pure and organic and I also the food!!!!
Thank you!

It is the worst food I have ever eaten among Thai food restaurants. I could taste stale meat. There were not enough vegetables. The food was too salty and too sweet. Some employees did not respond to my request. Only one employee served me. The others ignored me when I needed something.
Stopped in after driving since 10 am (it's almost 7pm) dressed like a haggard hobo bc I was exhausted and haven't shaved in 3 days, wearing crocs, and they treated me great. Had live acoustic music on a Tuesday in a Thai restaurant, 10/10 wasn't expecting it. I absolutely love live music and love my meal and the vibe of the place. In Dallas for another month and a half for work. Thanks for the dinner, I'll be back.
Incredible food and service 💖🫶🏻
Service was excellent. Atmosphere was quaint but mostly typical for a small strip shopping center location. Prices were reasonable, including for modifications which was a nice surprise.
We got pad kee mao with tofu, yellow curry with chicken, and peanut chicken with chicken.
The pad kee mao was good. About as good as pad {whatever} at other places.
The yellow curry had a tiny bit of spice but otherwise very little flavor. The color was extremely pale; like it was almost entirely coconut milk and very little actual curry ingredients. If you don't like curry... you might like this. The carrots were giant chunks. Almost like sweet potatos... But they were carrots. Both the carrots and the potatoes were under cooked. The chicken had that slightly metallic flavor and chewy texture of over cooked chicken. While not great, we finished the dish.
The peanut chicken we did not eat more than 2 bites of. It's false advertising to call that "peanut sauce" it was the consistency of water... It had very little flavor... Mostly salty like a "garlic" sauce or something you might get at a other Thai restaurants. That's not what I think of when I think of "peanut sauce" and it isn't what we wanted, so we didn't eat it enough to say more than that.
Enjoyed a nice lunch here. The service was great. Lunch came with a soup which was nice on a cold day! The dishes were appropriately sized with just the right amount of sauce and spices.
Good food overall. Flavor of the Massaman curry could've been improved by using fresh ingredients.
Complimentary soup and delicious curry.
If I cooked Thai food, I would hope it would taste exactly like this incredible meal. I ordered 1 in heatness…their scale is 1-3…and I found it to be a 0. Maybe my tastebuds are getting braver…hahaha.

I have never had Mescal served with smoked salt and orange. I highly recommend the green curry
Absolutely lovely food. Family run restaurant w a full bar, easy location to park. We go there regularly.
I really enjoyed Green curry with tofu and veggies with jasmine rice! They offer free soup (NV) which was nice! Lastly had coconut flakes ice cream and Mongolian sticky rice mangoes as desserts 🍨 which made my day out! Lunch time is quite busy and rush, make sure you finish your lunch before 2pm.
Had the basil rice with steak. Very tasty.
Great small Richardson place in an outdoor mall.
Superb food, extremely cordial staff, sweet, funny, very likeable.
Beautiful decor and fun setting.
Bad news, typical of Texas passenger vehicles, huge pickup Trucks 🛻 with super bright headlights facing the outdoor tables.
Literally, the only minus.
Great Richardson Coit area for shopping, Cafe life and lots of Global Humans.
Cheers,
Misha
Lovely place. Good homely vibes and delicious food.
Perfect balance of flavors. They know Thai food here, delicate and flavorful. Perfection!
All food was great and fresh.
Today I had to chicken red curry. The presentation was excellent and with all ingredients looksed fresh.
The food taste was authentic and spiced perfectly.
Service was on point and the girls were tentative to their customers.
Atmosphere was refreshing and clean.
Overall, I will continue to come here to enjoy some good Thai food.
My family loves eating here and we have been able to reliably order gluten free; however, over the last several months, many Items that were GF are no longer GF so that our options are now pretty limited. Gluten free options are marked on the menu, but make sure to ask as lately things are no longer GF and the menu hasn't been updated.
Delicious food, portions so generous a couple could share one plate and be satisfied.
OMG!!!! My new favorite place, the food is unbelievable!
Food is delicous. Has a great selection of dishes. Service is great.
Great family service... Food was incredible. Fantastic recommendations for food from the server.
Food has wonderful flavor, I've enjoyed everything I've ordered so far. Can't wait to go back and continue exploring the menu. Hopefully they'll have the beer restocked at that time.
Great food & friendly staff
Went in 3 minutes before the closing time, and they did not refuse service.
The staff is very friendly.
Most of the food was good (avoid Crying Tiger beef dish). Service was good but owners were difficult, charged us for a sent back dish barely touched.
We've been coming here regularly for years. Food, service, and vibe are all great. The great service tonight correcting an honest mistake reminded me to leave a positive review.
Definitely worth a good rating! Everything was fresh and amazing with very kind staff.
Don't order padthai! I know pad thai is more of an American meal but it tasted like rice noodles with liquid peanut butter. No vegetables at all. The server made several mistakes. I didn't feel cared for. So the food is bad and service is poor here.
I will never eat here again.
I can see why they are empty on a Saturday evening.
Favorite Thai spot in the area by far. The curry puffs were some of the best pastries my wife and I have ever had. We got the pad kee Mao and jungle curry. Both were flavorful with perfect spice levels. Service was quick and offered recommendations on the menu that were great. Highly recommend.
Excellent pad Thai lunch special.
Everything about this place was amazing. The service and attention was exceptional and the food was amazing. Bambu was my first experience with Thai food, and I have to admit that I am grateful that it was, the bar is set really high now. The curry was delicious, the noodles were cooked to a perfect point and the complementary soup literally warmed my insides to the point I felt relief.
I completely recommend this place, the food is amazing, but as a new person in town, it was the costumer service what I loved the most. Made me feel welcomed from the very beggining until we left.
The lunch menu offered some well-sized portions for a lower price. The food was delicious and the staff was very kind during my visit. Will definitely be returning.
fried rice was good and lunch special was decently sized
First visit, coworker suggestion. What a great little place! The food was fantastic! Service was great! Prices were reasonable. Definitely worth a visit! We'll be back. 😀
Must visit! Absolutely the best Thai food, the atmosphere, the food, the service!! 10/10 recommend!!!
Worst Thai food I have ever eaten, BAR NONE, coupled with stingy proportions and high prices.
The po tak tastes like they didn't even bother to season it. It doesn't even have as much flavor as a basic tom yum. It is the worst I have ever had. The base tastes (I kid you not) like ocean water, like I went to an ocean and accidentally swallowed some of the water after I went for a dip. I know that taste anywhere. There was barely any protein for the escalated price (3 small shrimp, 3 little mystery fish pieces, 3 unfresh muscles, NO SCALLOPS!). I threw it away after about 8 spoonfuls. This costed about $20. Absolutely disgusting.
The summer rolls are half as big as pictured and come with iceberg lettuce, not the nice quality salad pictured online. The TWO of them make up ONE roll from any other Vietnamese or Thai restaurant I have been to in the area. The shrimp tasted like ammonia almost, very unfresh. I gagged. The "peanut butter" dip tastes like straight up white vinegar. What were these people thinking with this? $7 worth of more trash.
I also got the chicken green curry and added shrimp for $3 extra, for a total of $16 plus tax. It came with NO CHICKEN, half liquefied spoiled veggies, and exactly 3 SMALL shrimp. It tasted like spicy, watery cheese, not curry at all. Again, I gagged. The proportion was lunch sized (it came in a half-filled medium-sized tray, not a clear cylindrical container you'd receive anywhere else). I tried to finish it but, again, I threw this out.
Stay far away from this shabby, wannabe restaurant and save your coins for a place that has better cooks and ethics. This place is a cheating, nasty money-grab. I'm seriously considering having my bank reverse this charge due to the blatant fraud, something I haven't done in years and have never had to do with food. I spent $60 for trash.
Bambu has been my only Thai restaurant since it opened. I have dined here dozens if not hundreds of times and always had exceptionally good food and service.
Probably one of the best thai restaurants I've experienced. Phenomenal tea, food was delicious, everything was clean, and everyone was very kind.
Great food! I recommend the Kaprow chicken fried rice.
The food is ok, but the portions are tiny. I need man-sizes portions!
Incredible spot. Amazing wine and food, 10/10
I have been a customer since they opened and until I moved away from Dallas in 2018...I do still order from them when I am in town.... The food is excellent !!!! Some of my favorites are the fried tofu, the fresh summer rolls, the chicken satay, the thai style shrimp ceviche, papaya salad, the thai seafood salad, Tom Yum and Tom Kha soups, the various curry dishes, thai tea.... All are excellent...You choose the spicyness level, be sure to ask for extra peanut sauce with several appetizers.....I never have had a bad meal their....The place is very clean, orderly and the staff is friendly....Be sure and give them a try !!!!!
Great food
Rico menú
Loved the food and the atmosphere. Immediately received me food after ordering and it did not disappoint. Excellent.
BEST Thai restaurant in entire DFW area - will drive 45 minutes to get here!! They have the best food & the owners are the kindest - it’s like a giant hug! :)
The chicken satay is literally the best out there. I order it at other Thai places and the other places never even come close to the level of scrumptious this place's Satay has! And the Moo Yang (it's a black board special) would definitely be my choice of last meal. I recommend this place to anyone who asks. The staff are lovely as well and always fast! I go there as often as I can. Best Thai in Dallas!
Disappointed. Dishes were not so flavourful. Curries were watery.
I got the yellow curry to go. The packaging was bad because they put liquid curry in a shallow plastic container that was completely spilling outside the edges of the lid and in the bag. It probably should've been packaged in a soup container due to the volume of liquid. The portion size was crazy small for it being a regular $14 entree rather than a lunch special. Taste was good, but def not enough portion wise. It was busy, so maybe I'll try again another time.
The older Asian lady with the short hair was really rude. Seemed like she was discriminating against me based off the color of my skin because I was “disturbing” her white customers while I was waiting for an order next door at TLC vegan cafe. She was standing there watching me acting as if she was going to call the police.
Food was okay. Not too bad. But I remember it used to be better.
Clean pleasant place is a bit pricey, plan on $20 to $30 if you are hungry.
What a tasty meal. We tried a few different dishes and they were great. Service was friendly and a great atmosphere.
This place is the BOMB DOT COM. They were super hospitable, the service was super fast, and the food was really good.
Easily the best Thai restaurant in town. Best wine list for a Thai restaurant too. Get the Mieng Khan, the Isan Sausage and the Crying Tiger Beef w sticky rice.
I made a reservation and had dinner alone. My server was awesome and there wasn't a time when I needed a refill of water and had to request a refill. The server and support staff could not have done a better job. My server suggested I try the garlic shrimp and she was so right, it was great. The food could not have been better. Great meal and great experiance.
We recommend you check it out for yourself, especially if you're looking for something a little more special than the normal Thai cuisine. Can be a little more pricey but well worth it, some of our favorites are: frogs legs, chicken liver, lamb chops and labb.
Hefty price for the worst Thai food I've ever had. Krapow fried rice was utterly bland on medium level spicy. Chicken was bland and very dry. Cherry on top is that the portion sizes are honestly quite small compared to what I'm used to. Service isn't great, waiter actually made fun of one of my food preferences. Must be because tips are incorporated into your bill automatically. Overall a disappointing experience.
Pad Thai noodles slightly disappointing but cashew chicken was great. I could live on the mango sticky rice. Super service, really nice people. Long way to drive to get there but worth the trip.
Portions were small. Lamb curry was watery and very little flavor. Garlic frog legs- $17 for two skimpy sets of frog legs. Pad Thai was clumpy and dry with very little sauce. We won't be back.
Loved it! We took our niece there and she LOVED IT! We recommend the steamed dumplings and the mango sticky rice.
The service wasn’t really good . The food lacked flavor.
My husband and I love Thai food and have tried probably 10+ places in DFW. Bambu is always our go-to for Thai. Their pad thai in particular is amazing. It’s not overly sauced (which I really can’t stand), not too greasy, and has the perfect balance of flavors. We almost always get take out (parents of a toddler), and have never once been disappointed. I will say that the portions may be slightly smaller than some other restaurants, but I prefer smaller portions of great food than a huge portion of mediocre food.
Incredible food- complex delicious flavors that transport you to another world!
Awesome Thai restaurant and great service. Some unusual northern Thai dishes like Frogs Legs, pork sausages and deep fried quail… along with all the favourites! Great wine selection too!
Delicious food. I got the San sausage, the ham khao tod, and the crab fried rice. Finally I got the coconut ice cream for dessert. It was to die for! The staff were polite, friendly and knowledgeable! You have to eat here!!!
Great
Awesome food
Something special about this place. I venture out and try most all the local spots. I’m mad at myself as I’ve lived in Richardson as long as Bambu Thai has been open and even though I knew of its existence I never came until tonight. Its kind of funny in hind sight how my wife and I were so indecisive on picking a place to eat tonight as we wasted too much time brainstorming where to go because we spoke of wanting something great/enjoyable and we were tired of frequenting the convenient usuals and feeling stuck in a rut… however due to lack of time and unable to make up our minds we pulled over at Coit and Campbell and Thai sounded ok. Best decision I never made!!!! We left there feeling WOW’d. I love the restaurants that don’t cut corners. There is knowledge and passion behind this food. No bases but raw ingredients that make the food. Execution/flavor was on point. I could go on and on and they deserve it but I guess to sum it up, this is the food that instantly turns your previous local favorites into just ok. I can’t wait to try what else they have. We will definitely be frequenting this place and won’t be so indecisive as this is a clear choice with no regrets! Great job and thank you for doing what y’all do. I know it’s not the easiest way to cook/run a restaurant but I am truly appreciative. Extra stars if it was an option
Server need more training! She asked to take the soup bowl before I could finish it. Reached across our table to get the empty sauce dish. After giving us the ticket - she stood by the table while my husband pulled up his cash to count. Food was good but server lack training.
Very very good. Issam style thai food. Very different from your traditional Thai food you find around dfw. My fiance and I loved it. We first saw it on asian grub dfdub fb page. We ordered 5 items from the menu on the wall next to the bar.
Loved the food. No complaints. Went during a quieter time and the wait staff was awesome. Would recomend.
Generic American Thai food, small portions for the price. I wouldn't repeat unless I was in a bind.
Absolutely authentic Thai, delicious! Outstanding service. Drink menu and wine list is top notch. If you like Thai and great friendly family oriented service you will enjoy a dinner at this spot.
Bambu has got to be the best thai place in America. I have always had more than a satisfactory experience. Staff is incredibly nice and everything you order whether it is a special, appetizer or dessert tastes amazing, evidently made with love. They are also so receptive to feedback and are willing to adjust their dishes to cater all customers. I recommend Bambu to anyone and everyone.
Wonderful place for a great lunch. Lots of sun light and the food is excellent! Great lemon drop martinis 🤗
Perfectly portioned meals that are authentic and tasty. Service is excellent. You can tell that the owner cares about the customer experience. It's kept very clean including the men's bathroom. I will definitely be back.
Vibe is good, drinks are strong enough, food tastes rather good, but... curry was watery, skimpy with meat, portion sizes are tiny, seasoning is good but flavors not particularly deep or complex, so overall poor value for price + presentation can be better. Customer service is good. I would take a date here if they were a heavy drinker and light eater, but I recommend Noodle Wave over this.
The Ginger Beef was outstanding!
BEST Thai food I have ever found in Dallas, very authentic. The food is made to order, and comes out very hot and fresh.
I’ve had the yellow curry, cashew chicken, and pad Thai and all were fantastic. Great satay appetizers and the edamame was very fresh.
Highly recommend! Haven’t had Thai food like this since living in Los Angeles.
Really good dumplings
This place is special! Truly a jewel of a restaurant in the far west Richardson area. This place sustained my wife and I through the pandemic with excellent take out. We developed a great rhythm having a weekly "home date night" that included kids to bed early, Netflix, wine and cashew chicken from Bambu! Dining-in has a true date night feel with great service, relaxed vibe, awesome nightly specials, and a fun drink/wine list to choose from. Speaking of specials, last night I had the frog legs and.....wow! That was definitely a step out of my comfort zone but It was highly recommended and did not disappoint! Can't recommend it enough! Go there! Soon!!!
Quantity is too small that's it is not sufficient at all for the price we are paying. Its the same issue either you go for lunch or dinner there
This is a mid-range price restaurant but their quality is not there yet
Never been before & never will go back. My all time favorite is Cashew Chicken. This was the worst. No sauce all watery liquid. Had to use the whole container of rice or get a spoon & eat like soup. Chicken dried out. Big chunks of green peppers & onions that tasted raw. Couldn't find the cashews. Worst of all... served in a container the size of a Lean Cuisine. Waste of money. So sorry I went.
Good food and clean, comfortable dining area. Good for a quick sit down dinner or take out. We like to order extra and make it a sit-down dinner AND takeout at the same time :)
Soooo good. Really put a smile on my face. I got the duck curry because I was feeling adventurous and I was so happy with it.
