The overarching theme from all the food we ordered was a lack of flavor. We had a large order (4 bags) and one item was left out. Super frustrating because someone in our party didn’t get their meal. However, when we called they refunded the amount of the missing item. The first picture of the roll was really over fried. The ends were black and the meat inside was really dry. The tofu was not great but tolerable with the mushroom sauce. The Godzilla roll was good. Other members of my group got the pad Thai. They didn’t like it because it lacked flavor and the noodles were saturated and stuck together. We were very excited for a 4.7 star sushi establishment, but Kevin’s sushi & Thai did not live up to the hype.

I received the most unbelievable hostile response ever! Kevin the owner of the establishment began insinuating that I wasn’t telling the truth, and he was too busy to deal with me! By now it wasn’t about the missing food It had become about being verbally attacked and basically told I was lying! I went back with original order and proof of payment to ASSURE the owner that I really was missing a part of my order. And even though I was extremely upset and disappointed, and I wanted him to know it! I never once spoke in way to interrupt his establishment with other costumers dining! But instead of the owner an offering me an SINCERE apology for the mistake made! He decided very rudely that I needed to be informed about how long his business had been in the area! As though that should validate to me that his business was not capable of making a such an error! For goodness sake’s all that for a missing dish that cost about $17.00 after I’d spent over $200.00! Kevin, as the owner good customer service would have simply been you being responsible enough to say I’m sorry for the inconvenience and rectifying the problem WITHOUT having such an aggressive and hostile behavior! Yes, I got a refund. But Sir, you can have great food, but bad customer service can cost you to lose one customer at time until after years of being in business ends! That was totally unexpected, unnecessary, definitely unacceptable behavior! I’ll pay money for my food elsewhere rather than be disrespected for a service I’m paying for when I did absolutely nothing wrong!

I asked if they could make a spicy tuna cucumber wrap. So it is spicy tuna, carrots, and avocado all wrapped in cucumber! It was so delicious! The tuna was perfect!

I was there last night when Valarie Williams (wrote a nasty review) came in and made a scene. I was enjoying dinner when a woman came in to pick up a large to go order and was rude and demanding to the staff. She then came back claiming she was missing food and demanded a refund. I heard the owner (Kevin) speaking to who I assume is Valerie and was on the phone telling her he would make the roll for her even though he was sure it was in there. He was working alone and had many full tables and I did hear him say “come pick up the roll but I’m busy and need to hang up” she and her possy (I believe mom and dad) came in with all the food demanding a refund, making a scene, claiming he called her a lier and was treated disrespectfully. None of which was true by my account. After speaking with the staff, I was informed she only brought back part of the meal - some had been eaten, yet demanded a full refund. So please, Valerie, if you can’t afford to pay for your full meal - eat elsewhere.
PS. Kevin’s Sushi and Thai was great. Food was amazing, came quick, and the staff is top notch.

If you have never experienced Kevin's food, you are missing out. This is the best sushi spot in the area by far, hands down. Kevin, the owner is the sushi chef and I've never had a bad experience at Kevin's restaurant. You need to try this spot out.

I found this place by luck, because it’s hidden away in a tiny plaza next to a gas station. It’s a nondescript place, and can easily be missed by driving by too quickly. Came here because of the reviews, and it did not disappoint. Already been here twice and look forward to going back again. First, it has a welcoming, intimate atmosphere, perfect for a quiet date or small family occasion. The food- the sushi PHENOMENAL. Fresh. Everything is great. From the apps (had the softshell sushi) to the entree (sushi/sashimi deluxe, everything tasted like it came fresh from the ocean that day. The chicken basil over rice was delicious, and the Thai teas were delicious. I also ordered the Sake. Unfortunately, I was so excited by the food- I forgot to take more pics, haha. But I will next time. Kevin is kind and funny,
- a great sushi chef. His daughter works as a server and she is as sweet as can be. I recommend this place to everyone now. Places like these are far and few- do not miss this one. A++++.

The atmosphere and service was great the only downside to this place was the size and lack of fish in my sushi. My sushi was falling apart because they were huge pieces, so big i couldn’t fit it all in one bite. There was so much rice and wasn’t balanced at all with the actual fish.

Excellent sushi 🍣 and the service was really good since we had a very friendly server. Tried the Godzilla roll, spicy tuna roll fried rice and the Melissa roll everything was absolutely delicious. We Will definitely return here again💯

Just wow what awesome food, the atmosphere is super chill. As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted by Kevin himself he’s on his booth prepping all the Suschi.I in particular I did not go in for sushi. I went for the fried hibachi rice, which was super fresh and at the price and at the quantity he gives you it’s more than enough and more than worth it. I also think it’s awesome that he would name a dish after some of his past customers, I believe it’s very important that we support our local small businesses but more importantly, when you have people that love what they do and love to see people smile and come back because they love their food that is prices-less. My co worker had the Valerie sushi rolls and my other co worker had the chicken pad Thai and yes the food is cooked to order so it will be as fresh as it gets.

Kevin’s has gone downhill over the last couple of years. If an excellent sushi roll is 20% rice, and an acceptable sushi roll is 50% of rice, Kevin serves sushi rolls at 80% rice. Really feel like they are skimping the fish on the rolls, really disappointing compared to what Kevin’s used to be.

Just ordered take out from Kevin’s Thai. I ordered 4 rolls and the rolls were barely any sushi and all rice. If you like to pay top price for rice order here. I’ve never seen anything like it. Terrible quality and a scam for sushi

Kevin’s Sushi & Thai is my go to spot for fresh sushi. The food is fantastic and Kevin and his team are one of a kind.

I’ve been going to Kevin’s since around 2017. While the menu is surprisingly eclectic, the house rolls and other sushi appetizers are why Kevin stands out. I recommend (and only order) the Jenny roll. Anything items with the fresh tuna are my favorites (tuna tower, hamachi jalapeño, etc.).

The food is phenomenal, but I’ve continued to go to visit because of the people. Kevin has become a good friend and I am no outlier. Everyone says hi to Kevin when they come in and he knows most by name. The staff has also been wonderful over the years. Whether new or old to the restaurant, I’ve always found them to be extremely respectful and patient.

Hope this helps. Definitely give this place a try if you’re looking for a new sushi spot.

The best sushi restaurant we've been to.

The hibachi is absolutely amazing, a little expensive, but definitely worth it. Their spring rolls, seaweed salad, and hibachi rice are definite go-to. I visit at least 3 times a month and every time it's the same quality for food. So much better than the chain hibachi restaurants, unless you enjoy the show during cooking, but if you care more about the quality of hibachi food, this is the place for you.

This place has some out of this world food, the service is great, and you can see the dedication and pride the staff and Kevin has in this restaurant.

Everyone claims they know the best sushi joint. I've been to everyone and their grandmothers "favorite" sushi restaurant. This places blows away any place we've ever ate sushi. Not to mention, they make you feel right at home. I will drive hours if need be to eat here. Luckily I live 5 minutes away.

Amazing sushi and great service! Ordered 5 rolls that were all perfectly prepared. Also, ordered the fried rice which was also extremely tasty. Waitress was very attentive and nice. Will definitely be back.

So I'm having a tough time trying to find a place to get sushi where they don't serve you with one hand on the plate and the other grabbing for your wallet. We were looking at a place on line that had sushi for up upwards of over $200 a roll (another sushi place and not Kevin's). So Kevin's seemed like a bargain and after eating here it turned out to be an amazing choice and a pretty good value for the area. Now I read the couple of negative reviews for Kevin's and my experience was quite different. I was looking for good food and a comfortable experience and not expecting over the top perfection. I really liked my Kevin's experience.

Great service. Our waitress was just very good at what she did and was so nice. Kevin is fortunate to have her. We also decided that the next time we are going to eat at the bar and talk with Kevin because he just seemed so interesting from what we could hear of his conversations with the customers.

We had 2 sushi rolls. The rice, the varied temperatures the coolness of the fresh beautifully cut fish the opposing warmth of the rice and the harmony of the combination was really intoxicating if you get the whole great sushi thing. Its hard to find that great balance in a roll where you just savor the tastes rocking all your taste buds at once and Kevin wes spot on for our rolls. I dont even remember if they were perfectly shaped or cut, but I assure you I would have probably mentioned it if they were mangled and they were not. The aged tofu was really good. The Thai minced beef salad really brought back some memories of being in Thailand and was great for an American palate without losing its identity. Got the Penang curry and it came mild as requested and was so enjoyable. The one little negative is the small bowl of rice. I didn't chance ruining a great evening by asking for more and getting charged which drives me nuts. I don't know if they would have even done this. Anyway, the rice was fragrant and cooked perfectly for my tastes. We even tried Kevin's pineapple infused sake. I really enjoyed it. I mean it may not be good for a sake pureist, but it's not like hot sake which they also have. This was serve cold in glass service, not ceramic. It was fun and quite drinkable with infused pineapple chunks served along side.

This felt like a local sushi bar or restaurant you would find in Japan on the night we dined. Like my Thai dish, the restaurant brought me back to my time in Japan. I would say this is just a really great local restaurant and I'm glad we found it. Two adult guys and a hungry teen ate to satisfaction with the above dishes for under $100 including tax and tip .. With inflation this may not be true for the future so look at the date of the review. Also we got a whole meal for three for much less than you would pay for a roll at at least one other restaurant.

Oh and the menu is well curated with the basics of common Japanese and Thai and enough specialties to keep you from getting bored when you become a regular. I liked it because it was limited enough for me to make easier choices and not overwhelming like those places with 10 pages of options. The smaller menu makes good business sense and seemed to alow Kevin to concentrate as best he can on good quality and consistent service.

We look forward to our return.

This wasn't the easier thing to find, and the place look closed, the windows are covered. Opened the door to find a little hidden gem. Kevin works the sushi bar himself, he seem to have a great personality talking with other customers from my observations. Not to mention how impressed I was with his Volcano rolls... do not miss the opportunity to give it a try. He made those imitation grab taste better than the really thing. I also tried the sushi tower, hamachi jalapeños and two other sushi rolls, habachi fried rice everything was delicious. We even ordered another fried rice to go, it was fresh, hot and sooo tasty. Can't wait till we go back for more.

This is one sushi place that I would never return to even though the employees were kind enough the Godzilla Roll that was purchased for $18 was mainly rice which is what made the roll larger than my mouth and not so tasty... smallest pieces of tuna you could ever imagine no cucumber, barely any avocado and over cooked shrimp tempura I should have just drove the extra miles to sushi song and got good sushi...! Never again! Do better for the price you're requesting please.

Got red curry, it had a funky taste, like something was bad. Wasn't an umami flavor. Water tasted like sulfur. Service was great though.

They didnt have straws and anything with crab in it tasted old and smelled like chemicals. We ordered two dishes with crab in it both had the weird taste. The glassware was dirty.

It has become a mediocre place with average food that nickels and dimes you no matter you loyalty and how much you spend.

We are from out of town but were really glad to have found Kevin’s place. The space is small but we were able to make a reservation ahead of time. The sushi was delicious and the special rolls were big! Good service and good atmosphere. Would recommend!

Awesome experience, friendly and helpful staff. A no frills Sushi restaurant with amazing food, will definitely be back. Love tuna sushi and got the Jenny Roll, recommended for sure!

Mouth watering sushi. I stopped in for a quick bite. I ordered shumai dumplings, spicy tuna roll and shrimp tempura roll. Everything was perfect and delicious. I'm looking forward to eating dinner and trying different rolls.
Kevin's Sushi is a must.

I went there when there was a problem with their credit card machine and phone lines. I only had 2 bucks in my wallet. As I was going to the bank I asked myself that I could have gone somewhere else for sushi, but thank God I went back to Kevin because it was the best sushi I have ever had. The specialty rolls are big and flavorful. I had Valerie’s roll and the eel roll. Stop paying for overpriced sushi anywhere else. Stop paying for small pieces of sushi that will not fill you up. Please, please, try Kevin’s!

I had the spicy tuna and the spicy salmon rolls. In hindsight, the tuna tower and the specialty rolls would have been better choices. The signage just says sushi & it is not easy to see off US 1.

This is the best sushi spot in south Florida hands down.

Food was tasty! ONLY NEGATIVE. Sushi rolls were too much rice, not enough fish.

Awesome sushi place, very small and cozy and due to COVID19 they now basically have 4-5 tables which they fill up by previous appointment only.
Regardless.... they do amazingly well with take out and pick ups.
They have 2 tables upfront where people kept coming constantly to pick up and I mean..... IT NEVER STOPPED. People were coming in every couple of minutes.
To me that shows how much people must love ordering sushi and Thai food from there.
And having tasted it I can understand why.
I myself will be back here soon as my craving for sushi got even worse since being here.

I went here because everybody was giving it five stars and saying it was the best sushi in town. I had to wait 30 minutes for two rolls. So you figure my roll would be delicious if you’re waiting that long, wrong I would say it’s the worst sushi roll I’ve ever had and I’ve been to pretty much all of them. For the price that you were going to pay for the sushi roll it’s not worth it it was a waste of money me and my husband were very upset the roll would fall apart as soon as you tried to pick it up both rolls. The fish inside my husbands roll I couldn’t tell you what it was it didn’t look like salmon crab salad I don’t know what kind of fish they put in it but it did not look appetizing at all. There’s so many sushi places out there but this isn’t the one I wouldn’t be coming back here ever. 😠
