I am visiting Palo Duro Canyon, so I decided to try a restaurant in the area. Although I'm not a big fan of Far Eastern cuisine, I ordered Sriracha Fried Rice and Garlic Basil Shrimp. The only issue I encountered was the uneven spice levels in the dishes. It seemed like the chef may have been Indian, as the spice was quite intense. To balance out the heat at the end of the meal, I ended up chewing on some dates.

We came in shortly before they closed for lunch and were very nicely accommodated. The food was not only affordable, but the nice portion size and wonderful flavor made this an exceptional experience. Our server was very helpful as well. We will have to come back every time we're in Canyon!

Well I’m sure it can happen to any restaurant but the 10 inch black hair in the chicken teriyaki was tough to deal with.They did take it back and bring another one but it was a very quick turn around and made me wonder my meal just got a quick hair cut.
There is bar in the dining room with a large TV. There just happened to be a basketball game on that brought on some loud screaming and yelling. Sure not a place to have a quiet meal. Probably was just a bad night..

The Pad Ci-u was heavy on the soy sauce and almost too salty to eat, a few lime slices helped. The spicy udon and fried rice were weirdly sweet and the rice had too many different veggies. I like veggies but onions, tomatoes and peas AND corn AND carrots are a bit much.
On the not so bad side, the fried potstickers were nicely crispy but the filling was bland and the dipping sauce was also too sweet.
Nothing was really bad, but none of it was really good either.

I really found this as a surprise. Didn't expect to find this quality cuisine here. The rolls were good, loved the jalapeno. Soup was great. Loved the udon noodle combination. Highly recommend it

I'm kinda neutral about this place, I liked the plate I ordered seafood Thai pad, but the thing about the noodles they were a bit overcooked. It tasted good and I did want something spicy to add to it but didn't get a chance to order anything else. I do believe that the staff should be a bit more observant of the customers so that they are not left needing something or looking for a waitstaff, flagging them down. Overall a good restaurant good food with a nice ambiance.

The food is usually really good, but I’ve been once where it was cold. 😬 Atmosphere is ok, but the service is TERRIBLE. Majority of the time, our service is not happy to be there, and they are SUPER slow. Again, really good food most of the time, but the service is terrible.

It used to be really good, but anymore we can’t hardly come. Every time we go they say there’s an hour long wait because they’re more concerned about the online orders as opposed to the people physically eating at the restaurant. Staff have been incredibly rude about it and couldn’t care less. Will not be coming back here

Great Asian food friendly courteous and attentive customer service. My son and I visited this location for dinner and found it clean neat very accessible in the restaurant and the restroom area the only concern is parking in the downtown area of Canyon can be very challenging sometimes and that was the case for me. I highly recommend this location for families and for couples wanting an evening out for delicious Asian food. ♿️ 🙏🏽 👍🏽

My family and I have enjoyed Sayakomarn’s—affectionately called “Soccer Mom’s”—since moving to Canyon in 2014. The food is great, service is friendly and fast, and the restaurant is clean and lively.

We live in Amarillo, but this place is so good, we drive here to eat when we feel like Asian food. Tried many different dishes and have all been great. Looking forward to our next visit already! Worth the drive!

Love the atmosphere even more since they rebuilt the inside. Cindy always fun and great owner. The service is awesome and of course the food is fantastic so much flavor in everything. The Ribeye steak is better than all of the steakhouses. Hot and sour soup I can’t get enough, the curries also. Service always great and greeted with smiles. We always feel welcome. Highly recommend we come all the way from Amarillo to eat here often. You already know it’s great when it’s even full business on weekdays!

Don’t get me wrong I love their food! But tonight was just awful. My fiancé and I just wanted to go have a date night and after we got sat at our table we just got the worst service. Everyone was on their phones or just talking. Our server wasn’t happy at all, in fact she seemed so annoyed to even be a server. She would just sit our drinks down and say “here’s your drinks, are you ready?” And would rush us and if we weren’t ready she would just walk away really fast with a rude look on her face. And then when we were ready she was just in the kitchen on her phone. And my fiancé tried getting another worker’s attention but the dude at the bar was just laughing with his friends and the host was just sitting watching his phone with some other girl. All the workers were just focused on was either their phones or just closing. Absolutely ridiculous that we couldn’t get normal service. Couldn’t even get anyone to refill our drinks! This night was just a big let down by this restaurant.

Me & my mom was there last night, I love their vegetable fried rice, the 2 sangrias we had & the Tito’s vodka shots were strong & Good. I use to get the drunken noodles (spicy) but that dish is good too. Been here several times but their food is always a must.

I love Sayakomarns. The Pho yeah, and cashew chicken are two of my favorites. Sticky rice and Prik nam pla (fish sauce) is the best. However, lately the service has been slow. Every time I’ve dined in, there are 3-4 employees always sitting by the bar on their phones. Every time. Good luck getting through the busy signal trying to call in orders to-go. I will continue to eat there because it’s good.

I know the ratings are low but when you place a pickup order and go inside to get it it takes FOREVER for them to come help you pay and stuff there phone also never works.

Had lunch recently with the family and thoroughly enjoyed both the food and the service - had a super nice and very funny server named Katy. Definitely recommend it and will be a return customer.

I got takeout kra pao chicken a couple weeks ago. I asked for extra spicy and they did pretty well to accommodate, I'd say it was a 2.5/5 heat level. I really should have put a fried egg on it. The chicken is chunked more like stir fry instead of minced or ground like typical holy basil. That's how most Thai restaurants here make it though. Good spot for Thai food in Canyon.

Food, service, and atmosphere were great as long as you are not in a hurry and can wait an hour and a half for your food. Don't order the Cindy unless you can handle the intense fire of a dish full of Thai chili peppers. The Yum Na was incredible. I highly recommend it!

Such a delicious place to eat a well thought out meal in Canyon! I got the egg drop soup and ate every drop. This is a braces friendly soup! The flavor was so good! Portion was perfect. Our waitress was friendly and smiling the whole time. This is not fast food. It's worth the wait, if they're busy. They also have a bar you can sit at to order drinks.

Just got up and left this restaurant after waiting 10 minutes to not even be asked our drink order. Other tables who had just been seated were getting served before us, while we were being ignored.

This restaurant has good food but the service is terrible, you sit there for almost an hour before getting your food and you have to grab the waitress as she goes by to hopefully fill up your drink .

I have gone here since I was in college at WTAMU. I always order the same thing, sweet and sour chicken with the sweet and sour on the side, with egg drop soup, and egg rolls. I always know that the food will be amazing and we love going every time we visit Canyon!

Hours are listed that they are open until 3:00, came in at 2:50 and we got turned away. If you’re going to close at 2:45, list your hours as that. We drove from out of town, have always been good customers. Our bill is typically $75 or more, but they want to turn away paying customers before hand. Will not come back anymore. I don’t understand closing from 3:00 to 5:00 anyway especially on a Saturday. That’s just absurd.

I ordered the Hang-over fried rice abd it was really good. The waiter was friendly, and the food came out promptly.

It's a shame because when we moved to Canyon a couple years ago this place was great I don't know if they got any shifts in or what happened but the cocktails are watered down their food has no flavor or it's over salty I keep trying it thinking that it's going to come back and be good again and it's the only real Chinese place in town but each time my bill is high and my belly disappointed I put my food in a box or send it back I think they need a new chef and a new bartender and this place could be great usually when I go in there the place is empty one or two tables full but the waitress never seems to have time for us

This place is amazing! My brother and I showed up 20 minutes to close the host very politely informed us they were closing soon but had no problem accommodating us we got in an out super quick. And the food was perfect!! Love this place.

What a disappointment. This place was a beacon in the area of great food and service. Sadly, since their renovation last year the owners don’t seem to care how long it takes for table turnover. Just tonight, for three covers we waited more than an hour and fifteen minutes and eventually asked for the check to leave (twice) before the waitress brought two of the three entrees. A few minutes later, the last one appeared. We were the lucky ones, as we were served prior to at least two other tables that had been there when we arrived. What used to be one of the best restaurants in the area has turned into one that must be added to the avoidance list.

Restaurant was not over crowded. Waited for our food for over an hour (not servers fault) Waited it out only because I know you cannot get better tasting Thai food in the area. Very disappointed In the past few experiences here; we have been coming here for years(10+).

Think Rachel Ray of Thai. It’s not gonna be Thai or anywhere near it, but it will be flavorful. Staff was nice considering they were slammed! Tip big, they probably have private school loans.

The appetizers here are my favorite. Egg Drop soup is the best I've ever had. Crab Cheese Wontons are literally better than anywhere on Earth. You literally can't make a bad choice.

Food made me and hubby sick to our stomachs, was super salty, tasted bad, the noodles were literally the noodles you get out of a ramen packet, the menu online wasn't the amount we were charged. Asked if the dishes we wanted had bean sprouts, she didn't say but instead charged us extra for maybe 2 pieces of bean sprouts. Will never eat here again. The taste isn't worth it, better yet the amount of bathroom trips we made all night long due to vomiting and diarrhea that started not even 30 minutes after we ate.

I ordered the combination fried rice and I will say it was very presentable and the quantity was there. Unfortunately, the meat was very bland and that’s actually about it. Thai kitchen holds my vote on best combination fried rice in Canyon. #DirtybanjoTestings.

Always had delicious food but can not take online orders worth a dang. My GF has a allergy to shrimp and of course they added it to her order. Waste of money don’t know what happened but past year it has been horrible.And not even what she ordered. So sad cause we need good restaurants in Canyon

The food was good but the service was not. Our server Heather was not a good waitress at all. I know everyone needs a break to eat and what not but she could've had someone else take over for her. Instead she was eating and on her phone. She never refilled our drinks and she never checked on us. It wasnt even that busy there was maybe 5 tables tops at the time? You're telling me she couldn't at least swing by once? We waited about 20 minutes after we ate for a Togo box and the bill. I don't know who the other waitress was but I wish we had her. She had a boot on but was still working harder than Heather. So sad how bad service ruins good restaurants.

Rude staff that was eating at cash resister, while my food is setting there getting cold. I ordered take out Chinese food it was cold and not worth the price charged. Called to let them know what has happened and the young kid ( girl ) wanted to argue with me so, I hung up. I'll be driving to amarillo from now on for those prices. $2 dollars for a cold egg roll and not cooked cold vegies.

You will love this place if you like eating trash. Everything tasted like dirty dishes and steamed dishwasher water. I ordered pretty big for my family 3 of us ordered friend rice and all 3 had different flavors. The soups were nasty and taste like fish. The owners son laughed and said I CAN SEE THAT WHEN I TOLD HIM EVERYTHING HAD A FUNNY SMELL AND TASTE LIKE IT WAS COOKED OR STEEMED IN THE DISHWASHER . They know their food is trash. I HAVE NO CLUE HOW THEY STAY OPEN UNLESS THE LOCALS LIKE NASTY FOOD 🤮 the good thing is they only charged me for my drinks I guess. This place needs to be shut down! I wish I could give negative 10 stars.

I wish I could rate the food.... However, sadly, they never pick up the phone so it is impossible to place an order for pick up unless you physically go into the restaurant.

We arrived at 6pm and was told the food would take an hour to come out. I found that discouraging and watched several people leave. The 2 young women in front were busy talking with friends or family to help the server’s out. There were 2 male servers who were working their rears off while these girls talked and laughed with friends, which I felt like they could refill drinks or check on tables or bus the tables. The food was great even though they were short in the kitchen. The hostess was supposed to make our boba tea which she never did because she was socializing so we had to have our server take the charge off. He was supper amazing and friendly.

Love the remodel, it’s a beautiful space. The owners are also absolutely lovely. However, the staff right now is a lot GRUMPY to be there and the food was greasy and pretty difficult to eat. I was super surprised with how terrible it was, and with how disinterested our server was...really breaks my heart bc I want this place to be GREAT!

Pretty typical American-Thai food. Everything you order tastes the same. The dumplings I got were hugely over-steamed. And the waiters are all high-school students who don't want to be there.

They used to be better. At lunch time and before a rush, there were 3 servers and 7 tables. One server sat down to eat while the others passed us by for 10 minutes. After waving one down, she stopped to get our drink orders. She wrote down exactly what we wanted and it still came out completely wrong and one meal was cold and undercooked.
The servers have been downgraded, now wearing sweats and dreads.. I have no problem with people having their own "style" but please wash your hair and dress professionally while in a professional setting.

Very disappointed in the service tonight.

I ordered the ramen and it was not good. Tasted like someone just threw a whole bunch of random stuff in a pot with 25 cent store bought ramen seasoning. The ramen noodles themselves looked like and tasted like the package ramen noodles too. Not worth $15 dollars I paid for it AT ALL. Pretty unhappy with it

They redid the whole place. The bar is better and more open, the food is better, yet the food is bland. This is my second choice in Asian food. There's one more place in town that I prefer to go to but they are only open for lunch and dinner hours but worth the wait. This is just the best sit down Asian restaurant with the only bar that's good to come to in town.
8 months ago, original review: I don't know what's going on with this place. I went about 5 times. Last time I came here about a month ago, I sat closer to the bathroom and I can smell the sewage. My table was dirty and the waitress only cleaned the dirty spot and not the whole table. And lastly but still just as important, the food was cold and tasted mediocre. I

After the repairs and renovations, the food got slightly better but not much as it's lacking a bit. I ordered Panang curry with extra veggies and got panang curry with no veggies, only chillies. I still come here though because the repairs they made included the sewage smell that came out of the bathroom area. Now the bar is longer and there's daily drink specials making it the only bar in Canyon I know of but I still prefer going to Best Thai for asian food in Canyon.

I had great customer service and was even given a suggestion (upon asking, of course) for what I should try and the suggestion was excellent! Get the Udon noodle and jalapeño wonton. They were amazing!

Sayakomarn's always is willing to work with my food allergies! They are always willing to do whatever it takes to keep the customer happy! Such a great gem!!
