Not Fast Food Thai

I've been to other Thai restaurants who's flavor tastes "unfinished", as if it was thrown together at the last minute. This is not those places! I had yellow curry and garlic stir fry both with with beef and the taste was outstanding! One difference, this restaurant has 5 levels of hot instead of 4 in my experience. You should consider raising your spice level here.
The atmosphere is clean and minimal but enough to still add to the Thai experience.

The only drawback here is the location. It is secluded in the back lot of an office building (bathrooms are clean but part of the office building use). I'm sure this is of little matter to regulars but their business will benefit tremendously with more street side appeal since they seem to have the food down perfectly. I will be returning to try their other dishes very soon!

Jan Thai is a hidden gem in Bedford. The restaurant is very clean with super friendly staff. Ample parking. And the food was incredible. I highly recommend giving them a try. Everything cooked to order. Always tastes fresh. The Crispy Vegetable Egg Rolls are a must to order. And the traditional Thai Fried Rice is always good and more than enough for two… if you do choose to share.

We got the shrimp rolls to start, really delicious. For our entrees we got shrimp curry fried rice and the yellow curry. So flavorful and tasty. Our waitress was very nice. Definitely coming again

After eating at a number of "fun" restaurants (*cough* Babe's Chicken *cough*) Jan Thai was a welcome oasis of peaceful quietude, well prepared Thai dishes from high quality ingredients, reasonable prices, generous portions and friendly service. If you - like me - prefer eating at family-owned restaurants with these characteristics this is your place.

Hands down one of the 3 best Thai food places to eat in the mid cities (and I’ve pretty much tried them all). The pad kee mow is excellent, as is any of the fried rice plates. Definitely worth checking out, and you will never have to wait for a table (which shouldn’t be the case). And they know what “Thai hot” actually means.

The place is a little hard to find but worth the trouble. They serve large portions and the food is fresh made.

This restaurant is Regularly fined by the health department and the neighboring businesses are Forever complaining about cockroach infestations.

Service was great. She took the time to explain the menu and helped us make our dishes Vegan. Portions are large and tasty. Will def be back again. We ate the red curry tofu, vegetable tofu soup👌 and pad kee mow.

My fiance and I moved to the area a couple months ago and we LOVE Thai food. After trying multiple Thai restaurants, Jan Thai hands down has become our one and only place to dine for Thai food. We have had almost every entree they serve and every dish that kitchen produces is immaculate. It is a hidden treasure...Highly Highly recommend!!!

GREAT THAI

Finally tried Jan Thai and we were thrilled with the incredibly fresh flavor and actual spiciness!

Got the Pad Kee Meow with extra meat and the Salmon Curry 8/10 but it was made very fast and they were pretty nice inside. Will be returning again

No lunch specials on the weekends. It was a bit misleading! :(

This is by far the worst Thai food I’ve ever eaten. The tofu was old and the meal was unseasoned! I had to add chilli crisp to make it taste better, but I still couldn’t eat the food. I called to address my concerns and the lady wanted me to bring back the food for a refund. My time is more valuable so I will trash this monstrosity. If you want great Thai food, go to Thai Papaya Garden. This restaurant serves the best food and I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

This is the BEST Thai restaurant in Mid Cities and beyond. Everything is delicious and made with perfection. Service is awesome!

A little hard to see off the road, but best pad Thai I've found, not just locally!

Placed an order on the phone on a Monday night. Arriving, the staff were extremely friendly and it felt very authentic, mom & pop aesthetic. We ordered pad woon sen with chicken and pad zee ew with chicken, both medium heat, and a thai tea. All of that for $30. Not a bad deal. The thai tea was delicious, 9/10. I will say Im used to medium heat being a little more spicy, but they have (i believe) 5 different heat levels so it balances out. I could get hot next time and be okay. I give my pad zee ew a 7.5/10, the noodles were a little overdone, and the sauce could have more flavor, but it was still good. I did enjoy all the vegetables in it. Gotta get my fiber in. I felt the same about the pad woon sen , it could have a little more flavor and sauce, but still good. 7/10.

I would visit again to try other things like the curry noodles.

Yellow curry chicken & Tom Kha soup was delicious!! I've had better crab rangoons (think that's how you spell it) Restaurant was clean and service was great! Water didn't taste very good.

If you are looking for a nice and relaxing eating experience, I would highly recommend trying Jan Thai Kitchen. I tried the Chicken Pad Thai and it was awesome! Their egg rolls are fantastic too.

I got the green curry and it was absolutely amazing. It was probably the best green curry I’ve ever had. The people I was with had a kids pho, fried chicken curry and orange chicken. Everything was good. The shrimp rolls were delicious as well.

Not satisfied with food nor service. I emphatically requested very little spice, 0/5 in one dish and and 1/5 on the other. My little son got 1/5, I got a 3/5. The lady thought it was funny and then told me I was wrong. Interesting when someone denies your own experience. As a former restaurant owner this always surprises me. Other than that the curry flavor was good but the seafood portions were very skimpy in appetizers and main course. I would avoid it. The teriyaki chicken was good.
If you want fast service I suggest once you sit at the table you phone the restaurant and order for table delivery .I found myself waiting for a while for phone orders to be all taken

Very good! My favorite Thai restaurant in the area! My parents come here all the time and the waiter actually knows their order. Everything I’ve tried so far is so good! My dad usually gets the chow mein with chicken. The last time I went I got the chow mein and it’s my favorite dish from there. My mom gets the pad see ew, and that’s good too! The portion is smaller than the chow mein though. This last time my boyfriend got the peanut sauce. He asked for level 5 spicy but when he got it, it wasn’t spicy at all. My food was more spicy and I got level 2. They make the food very fast and service has always been good. The price is good too especially for the amount of food you get. The mango sticky rice is sooooo good! The mango was perfectly ripened and the cream on top of the rice was also good. The only downside is that the restaurant is a little hidden so it’s not getting the attention it deserves. The Thai tea is a little sweet but you can easily dilute it. The price of the Thai tea is such a good deal. It’s the cheapest price I’ve seen in the area. I also have to mention that they have a cute little garden in the front. I think more people should try this restaurant.

New review: 4 stars now because the takeout portions are half of what you would get if you ate inside the restaurant. Unfortunately it’s just as expensive if you pickup. I think that the price should be a little cheaper if you pick up from their store because again the portions are a lot smaller. Also the crab ragoons are not that good and the egg roll is okay.

Our favorite Thai restaurant in DFW metroplex. Fresh, made to order, and super consistent. Naam is always there, and she remembers everyone! We've never had something we didn't love, though highly recommend all soups, Thai Fried Rice (flavorful and moist), Basil Duck, and any curry.

Before Jan's wouldn't touch tofu. Here, you MUST try their flamed grilled tofu with spicy peanut sauce. Yummy, unique and amazing! Crispy, creamy, and delicious.

I've been to many Thai restaurants and this one absolutely stands out. Dont let unassuming location and low key outside/inside decor fool you. The food is to die for! The lady who served us was so kind and there is barely any wait to get your food. They are very efficient.
Unfortunately, we discovered the restaurant too late during our short trip to TX and were able to only go twice and both time the food was so good. More then recommend this place.

Really tasty! My wife doesn't normally like pad thai but the one here changed her opinion. The yellow curry is my favorite in HEB because its so chunky and they weren't shy about putting in a bunch of tofu. Their mango sticky rice was a treat, and their rolls were elevated by their sauces. Great for vegans, just ask for no egg if unsure.

Best Thai food ever! Hands down! I am very picky about Panang. The curry was perfect, rich and creamy, not watery. The spice chart was accurate, which was nice, and everything was very fresh.

We tired Jan Thai tonight for the first time. I’ve seen their sign many times driving on Harwood, but finally decided to give them a try. We ordered take out and it was ready in 15 minutes. The entrance is around the back of the building. Walking in, it smelled delicious and there were several other orders ready for pickup. She was also very friendly.

We ordered Thai Fried Rice. I’m pretty picky about my fried rice, theirs tasted fresh, not overly greasy and wasn’t soaked in soy sauce. No Peas and Carrots here! 🎉Medium heat had the perfect amount of flavor. I’m used to having to fix it up a bit when I get home, but I happily ate it as is!

So glad we finally tried Jan Thai — it’s much more convenient than our usual preferred Thai restaurant, so we will be back!

Ordered take out. It was fast, easy pick up and friendly staff. The food was very good, except for the Pad Thai. The Pad Thai was OK but lacked depth of flavor, almost bland. Pad Kee Mow at spice level 1 was hotter than expected. All veggies were fresh and crisp. Will be back.

The lunch portion are very large and come with soup and egg roll. Best lunch in the area. Very nice owner, Jan, is always there and cares very much about the service and quality of the food. We try to eat lunch there 1 - 2 times a week.

A little difficult to find at night but the food was pretty good. At the time they were sadly out of Thai iced tea, the Thai coffee was good though.

The only negative I have about this place is that it is tucked away and not straightforward on how to get there. The best way to get there is to go behind the AutoZone, or at least that's how I do it. The food is amazing, I highly recommend the duck and anything with fried basil!!!

Hidden Gem.

Amazing hidden gem. The crispy egg roles and beef jerky are delicious. The yellow curry is some of the best I've ever had and the fried rice is also delicious. Best Thai place in the area currently and I've tried them all!

I have eaten here several times, and I will return. Their Thai food is fresh, delicious, and very affordable! There's nothing fancy about the atmosphere within the restaurant, but it is clean, and you're definitely getting your money's with with the delicious food.

Decided to go try a new thai place. I cant quite decide what I think. The taste is stellar, the prices not so. I think everything is a little on the expensive side. The place is a little hard to find and its compounded by all the construction. However given that, the po-tak soup i had was delicious and the sauce on the snapper filet was outstanding. I really liked the pairing of the sauce with the mild taste of the snapper. Only got to-go for the first time, but already know this is going to be my local spot, the massaman curry and the tom kha were invigorating, especially with the cooler temps. Spice level was on point, can't wait to try a 5!

The crab Rangoon was extremely over cooked and the sweet and sour sauce was basically water with a few drops of the sauce mixed in. The eggs in the pad Thai tasted like a dirty charred grill.

Do not order from them. I used UberEats to order and they list their price incorrectly and charge you more. And when you ask them to cancel they still charge you for their mistake of not listing their food correctly.

I’ve tried numerous Thai restaurants around DFW. But this is by far one of my favorite finds so far! Had their Curry Chicken Fried Rice, and was blown away of how delicious it was! Especially with the spices thrown in. Their other dishes looked amazing as well. This place is definitely worth a try!

Honestly the staff seemed very nice but my steak was raw on my beef salad and my Thai tea tasted odd and my sweet sticky rice was dry.

Love this place! I am a picky plant based eater and there are plenty of options for me. I also love spice. They have been able to accommodate both and not compromise on flavor. The host is very nice. She has always made us feel welcomed. I have my go to dish which is the peanut butter sauce tofu. If you love peanut butter then you will love it. The establishment itself is very clean and cozy.

I discovered my love of Thai food while living overseas in Thailand. Since I’ve been back I’ve been on a mission to find anywhere remotely close to authentic Thai. I’ve been back 2 years now and that’s how long it took y’all. This is what I’ve been searching for all this time. I might even come back a second time today. It was phenomenal. My favorite place hands down now!! Love love love. 10/10 recommend!

I love Jan Thai Kitchen. My mother and I have been coming here shortly after it opened. I’ve enjoyed it every time. I’m all for supporting small businesses and this one deserves all the support. I reported the one star review because it does not a line at all to what Jan Thai Kitchen is. A business is more than just the food all though that’s the major and definitely a plus. Jan over all is the most kind and uplifting spirit I’ve ever come across. I hope all the blessings for her. Every place has good and bad days, but this one has more good than bad.

I just ordered on Doordash..... Everything was AMAZING! I judge Thai restaurants on three BASIC dishes (Pad Thai , chicken satay and tom yum soup) ... if they don't carry all 3 or 1 isn't good I don't go back.. THIS place juuuust might be better than my favorite place since my Colorado place!! BUT I've been burned before on a second and third order. Soooo ... I'll be back to see if it's consistent!!!!!! 🧡

Fresh, hot, flavorful. Very impressed. A friend had referred us to this restaurant for Asian food. We will be passing that referral along to our friends as well.

It’s okay food, they change flavoring but not protein cooking method.

Ordered thru uber eats. After i placed the order, they automatically adjusted my payment to pay an extra $1 without an option to cancel on the app.

The shrimp wrap did not list any ingredients other than shrimp and wonton wrap. It had cream cheese which i absolutely hate. On top of that, the picture shows 5 pieces, but they gave me 4.

Ordered crab rangoons for friends and they said those were good.

Pad thai with shrimp and extra egg was delicious. Most places do not give u crushed peanuts, which makes a huge difference. 1 spicy is as spicy as heavy dose of black pepper.

Asked to include utensils and napkins, but didn't give me chopsticks. Asian restaurant...no chopsticks...

I drive past many other Thai places to come here. Always fresh. Always hot and full of flavor. I order at least once a month. I've never had a bad dish and they are very consistent.

The dumplings and egg rolls were okay but it was the worst Pad Thai I have ever had, with no flavor it really didnt taste like pad thai to me at all. They also did not make my husband's food spicy as he asked.

I order the food delivered. Got a beef pho. It was so delicious the meat was very tender and the soup seemed like a fusion between Thai and Vietnamese. It was very tasty. Definitely a unique take in the regular pho soup. I highly recommend and will go back for more.

Had Pad Kee Mow chicken tonight from this place. Excellent food, will return.

A little hidden gem. Delicious food. No issues with the pricing for the quality and portions of food. Have been multiple times now and everything I’ve had has been great. Moo ping, potstickers, edamame, salmon teriyaki, garlic chicken, and the dessert mango sticky rice.

Great food... everytime! Can't wait to come back & try something else new to me!!!

Don't kid yourself this place is amazing! Great prices and great selection of food. Will continue to enjoy this place for as long as possible. Great place for take out and dine in!

We have had carry out here several times. There are a couple other Thai places closer to our side of Bedford but we purposely go to this one. What a gem! From their curries to rice dishes we are big fans. I always get tofu and my husband gets chicken and we keep going back. Sometimes weekly!! Their spiciness is on point and sauces are flavorful and rich. Such nice people every time we go in past 9:30 they are always pleasant.

We loved our dinner! Our Tom Kha soup was so delicious. We also ordered Summer Rolls with Shrimp. Excellent dinner! We ordered Red Curry, Crispy Duck and Pad Cha.
We will be going back! Great staff, very friendly! Ended the dinner with some yummy Mango Sticky Rice!
