Unpretentious kitchen in a strip mall providing spiced-to-order Thai recipes & a vegetarian menu.
I recently dined at Thai Palace and had a mixed experience. While the food was quite good, I was disappointed with the service. The staff member who greeted us didn’t acknowledge us at all when we entered, which felt unwelcoming.
Additionally, I was surprised to find a 4% transaction fee added to the bill when paying by card. At $15.99 per meal, I expected that charge to be included. This fee was only mentioned in small print at the bottom of the check, which felt a bit misleading. it would have been nice to know upfront.
Overall, the food was tasty, but the service and billing practices could use improvement..
Small little place but great service. I had the Tom Yum soup, which was ok, but the pineapple fried rice was delicious! My husband, who doesn't usually like Thai food, was surprisingly very happy with his food. He had the crispy cheese rolls and beef fried rice. He also discovered that he liked peanut sauce, which he added to his rice. Also, the portion size was definitely worth the cost of the meal.
Just came here after church since Thai Basil was closed and ordered three drunken noodles and specified no spice, to-go. The menu says they cannot eliminate all spice but mild was available. I’ve had it once before there and it was tolerable. Today, I needed one for myself and two more for my kids. They were NOT mild! I called and expressed my issue and she cut me off saying they cannot eliminate the spice and to enjoy my meal. I’m sorry, but maybe the cook made a mistake or didn’t see it specified OR maybe she didn’t write it down, but I asked for a remake and that was not able to be done either. I now have 3 $15 meals we cannot eat and my mouth is on fire. My blood sugar has dropped due to not eating after waiting over twenty mins on the food and getting to our destination just to find out we cannot eat it. Tried to dispute it with my Discover card but the process has to finalize before I can. So I’m just out the money and food at this point. As a local, this place will NEVER see my business.
We sat there for about 5 minutes before the waitress came. We ordered Pad Thai, Panang Curry, both of which were very tasty. The chicken coconut soup was too fishy, not my flavor favorite and not enough chicken. After we ordered, food came fairly quickly. The man who served was very friendly and helpful with the extras we needed. Overall, it was better than expected. It's not a fancy place, very simple and quaint.
Exceeded our expectations. Being there’s only 2 Thai restaurant in this town and we tried both, I would say this one is more authentic so don’t be fool by the lower star rating on Google.
The fried rice basil was nearly authentic and had good flavors. The pad Thai was also not bad.
The decor and ambience could be improved. We were quite surprise to only see 2 tables for a Sunday lunch time.
I dined at Thai place during my visit to pigeon forge and we arrived at restaurant just 20 minutes before it was about to close and it was empty and we were just 2 guests there. But still the attendant was so courteous and well attentive. She did nt rushed us and infact served us with all her attention and along with her so kind and great hospitality, food was super delicious and on time. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for good spice and vegetarian food option. She just made my day ❤️
I stumbled upon this restaurant because a nearby Thai cafe I had been to before was no longer open. Had no idea what to expect, but my wife and I were in for a succulent treat!
The Vegetable Spring Rolls were fresh and spectacular! My wife got the Ginger Tofu & Vegetables and it was marvelous! I ordered the Pad Thai with Tofu and thoroughly enjoyed my meal!!
Server was attentive, friendly and personable.
We look forward to our next trip!
The service is great, they’re quick and kind. The food itself was okay but I’ve had much better Thai. The lunch special is a good deal so I’d still probably go back just for that, it was $13 for an appetizer and main dish I believe. The portions are lunch sized, not enough to have leftovers. We got spring rolls and tom kha soup for appetizers and then pad thai (not pictured) egg noodles, massaman curry w/ chicken, and garlic chicken. We got level medium, which had no heat at all (probably a 2 on the 1-10 scale).

The server denied my parent’s service dog due to her allergy and refused to serve us.
According to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), “Allergies and fear of dogs are not valid reasons for denying access or refusing service to people using service animals. When a person who is allergic to dog dander and a person who uses a service animal must spend time in the same room or facility, for example, in a school classroom or at a homeless shelter, they both should be accommodated by assigning them, if possible, to different locations within the room or different rooms in the facility.”
Denying entry to a trained service animal is illegal. A disabled person with a service dog should not be treated any differently and has the same rights as any other customer. As far as your staff, there are only two questions you’re allowed to ask a disabled person: Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability? What work or task has the dog been trained to perform?
That is all. Learn your laws.
Excellent food, Excellent service, Attentive Staff.
We enjoyed the Asian TV (with subtitles) too.
Food was delicious, came out fast and HOT. Got the spring rolls, drunken noodles and chicken red curry with extra veggies. Loved it. Highly recommend.

Incredible dining experience. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is top notch. I also love the jewelry and handbag options available here.
very good, atmosphere was lovely , i like the rings and purses, im here rn

Excellent food and service. I had spring rolls and fried rice with Tofu.
Be careful of the 4%surcharge , I advice you to calculate the bill before you pay . Just ate here . Feel like I overpaid , the surcharge didn’t add up . I feel cheated .

Excellent. Made to order. Had spring roll and pad see ewe with tofu.
Excellent and fast service. The food is really good. I’m originally from Thailand so I’m very critical of Thai food. This place is excellent

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
**Thai Palace** is hands down one of our favorite spots in Gatlinburg, and every time we visit, we make sure to have at least one meal here! This family-owned restaurant truly captures the warmth and authenticity of Thai cuisine. The dishes are packed with flavor, from the rich and creamy curries to the perfectly spiced stir-fries.
You can taste the care and passion that goes into every dish, and the portions are generous, making it a fantastic value. The **Pad Thai** and **Green Curry** are personal favorites, but honestly, everything on the menu is excellent.
The friendly service and cozy atmosphere make you feel right at home, and it’s clear the family running the restaurant takes pride in what they do. Whether you’re a local or just visiting Gatlinburg, **Thai Palace** is a must-visit for delicious, authentic Thai food that never disappoints. Highly recommended!
Delicious fresh authentic Thai flavor. Ordered spring rolls, tom kha Kai soup and tofu pad Thai and all came out so fresh and hot. Definitely 10/10, would recommend!
Got the basil fried rice and that was delicious. The Tom yum soup, not so much.
Food is overpriced and not great. The only thing not watered down or under portioned is the basil fried rice. The Tom yum was the worst I have ever had it came with 1 mushroom and two pieces of lettuce in broths. The currries are equally watered down and below average.
Pad thai #2 😋 perfect
The owner was very polite and kind to us. Despite my little brother screaming and making a ton of noise he was very understanding. The food was delicious. This was my first time in Tennessee and I came here with my family for vacation, however, if I was from here I would come here more often. 10/10 customer service, and food, and the wait was not that long.
Great food with great service! We are going to eat here everyday during our vacation.
I'm a quality freak. I don't care for hard, crunchy vegetables and I do not eat processed or grissley meat. First time that I experience less than quality meat I will not be back.Never the same thing twice. FIRST TIME perfect , second time, same order, fire breathing hot,, 3rd time fire breathing hot & sweet.
We’re from Las Vegas where food options are abundant. THAI PALACE is THE REAL DEAL! Family owned, Family run , family recipes with LOVE poured into their dishes. REAL AUTHENTIC taste and presentation with generous portions. We couldn’t be happier with the food and sweet kind spirit of the server. IYKYK ( whole peppercorn full size fresh basil leaves , hand cut peppers , not ketchupy pad Thai but flavorful.
Lovely people serving wonderful and authentic Thai dishes.
Worst food ever. Less quantity and no taste.
The lady owner/ cook was rude. We ordered Drunken noodles and Panang Curry. Noodles were oily, no taste, and boiled vegetables. Panang curry had mostly vege and barely curry even though clearly asked with less veggies. When asked all i got was oh that’s how we make it. The walls had stains and tables were sticky.
There is no courtesy for customers.
wow…just WOW 😍🤤🙌
Food was average. Service was good. The price is a little on the higher end.
Love this place!!! Good food, good people and very clean.
Poor service. Terrible watered down curry. Shrimp tails left in the fried rice.
Curries are too yum!! Good is very delicious…👍🏼👌🏼
We both ended up with food poisoning that night after we ate here. It was the only place we had eaten for the day.
Thinnest Panang Curry I ever had, service is super slow.
After a tiring touristy day, we wanted something quick and comforting food.. so ordered Panang Curries, soup and kids dish.
I am a Thai food fan and have tried Thai in multiple places and cities. My no brainer order is Panag Curry but this is the thinnest curry I have ever had. Wonton soup was also so watery.
The order took forever..Like 20+ minutes for soup and another 20 for main food. The couple next to us left the place because of waiting. Hardly 3-4 tables were occupied so it wasn't crowded either. I guess the waitress was the only one cooking so it was taking this long.
Owner was courtes and nice but service and food quality needs to be improved.
Great vegan and vegetarian options. The food was tasty but not the best. The team did great serving us. The store has lots of purses for sale.
Food was delicious! Very friendly staff. Will definitely be back next time I’m in town!
I want to love this place and sometimes, I do. Other times, the (older man) owner makes it difficult. He is a friendly man but too much so. I've heard him discussing inappropriate things with customers while others are sat and eating nearby. He can also be seen barking orders at the young waitress (she's LOVELY) while he stands around like a local celebrity.
Fantastic food, especially the drunken noodles! Quiet atmosphere and friendly staff.
We were in pigeon forge Tennessee and looking for something different than barbecue so we found this little Thai restaurant in a strip mall. The restaurant wasn't crowded and we were able to walk right in. The hostess was very nice and seated us. Our food came out fresh and hot and we enjoyed everything we had. Definitely recommend this place!
Northerner visiting the Smokies. I don't eat dairy, gluten or meat. I was struggling to find meals that I could eat. Felt fortunate to find this place and it did not disappoint. My yellow curry was delicious. Hubby had the fried rice and enjoyed it. Very reasonable pricing and prompt service. Would definitely recommend.
Awesome food! Yellow chicken curry, mild is my favorite dish. I always order takeout because they don't have a lot of help, but the food is the best Thai food in town!!
The food was horrible. They had really dried up rice in the fried rice and it didn't even seem edible.
Always a delicious meal. My favorite is the cashew nut chicken. My wife goes for the pad Thai and my daughters both love the Tom ka soup. This is one of our favorite places to go in pigeon forge.
Food was not that great and service really needs lot of improvement.
Reception guy watches TV sitting in the front and talks with an attitude to you. Otherwise, food is good.
The food was great. We ordered fried rice and kitchen specials - vegetable stew and rice. I enjoyed every bit of it. The service was quick. Nice authentic Thai food.
Friendly service. Food was extremely flavorful and fresh. Some of the best food we’ve had period.
The food and service were very good. I have been here about four or five times before. Each time, we order something different. They never fail to delight us with their cooking.
Great staff
Food was fresh, hot, and quite delicious. We ordered Massamam Curry, Spring Rolls, and Chicken Fried Rice. All three were delicious. Their spice levels were on point and the peanut sauce was perfect.
**DO NOT GO!**The service was pretty good but the waiter didnt ask for refills.I take a peak at the menu and see EVERYTHING is overpriced. We order Chicken FriedRice and PadThai, just those 2 alone costed 30 dollars and the portions were small.I also ordered the tomyum soup and costed us 5 dollars. The total was 45 DOLLARS.I know this is a tourist trap but for the portion sizes and everything it wasnt worth a penny.I leave the resturant with regret and hoping nobody esle can come across this resturant.
Great food, good service... surprisingly few good restaurants in the area... but this one is great.
Thai basil chicken! The bomb
Terrible place, the man on front desk was rude, me and my husband ordered and walked all the way. He charged 3$ more for what was listed online. And then asked to pay additional fee for credit card for 35$ amount. And was rude. He did not like as we are also Asians. Please be careful rest is up to you, hope this guy learn to behave,
Please beware, worst restaurant in town. Charges for card transaction. Menu prices different what is online. Not polite at all, real racist. Deal at your on risk
Should be called WAIT Palace. I really wished I could've given a local Asian restaurant a good review but wow, I can't believe how slow it was!
The shop had 1 older gentleman seating people. When we walked in, his first words were "oh no, Im going to need help". It was me, my wife and a toddler 😐
We ordered at 6:45pm. Our dinner was handed to us at 7:50. We asked for it to be packed up for takeout since our toddler had already began to melt down. Before we ordered, there was a table of 6 and 4 in the restaurant, and when we asked how long, the old man says "uhh hopefully shouldn't be long."
After complaining at the register, we were told "well we closed at 4pm!" 😐 Why was the old man sitting people even at 730?
1 cook, 1 waitress, 1 host. The operation was painfully slow. Hope this was not normal 🥴
The food was much better than expected. I gave it 3 stars.
Food is okay, not great. Service is super slow, it take forever to get your order.
The menu there was larger than what is shown online. Was visiting from Columbus, and stoped for lunch. Food was a little salty and missing some key flavors found in authentic SE Asian food. Maybe it was the brand of fish sauce they were using. I am SE Asian and would say it was about what I was expecting, maybe a little less authentic, definitely not SE Asian spicy, but portions were decent at least. Tiger cry sauce was too salty and didn’t have the right flavor. Sweet and sour pork was too sweet. Pad cee ew noodles were good.I will say that most places don’t serve their sticky rice fresh enough and they served it very fresh. Good ratios of meat, vegetables, and rice or noodles for each dish. Spring rolls had the right flavor but were hilariously small. They did have shaved ice with Asian flavors and regular ice cream, which is convenient.
Thai Palace Gatlinburg is a great Thai restaurant with delicious dishes. I particularly enjoyed the Larb, Fried Calamari, and Pad Thai which were all well-prepared and flavorful. The server was friendly and provided great service throughout our meal. The ambience of the restaurant is nice and clean, with a typical mom and pop owned feel to it. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious Thai meal in Gatlinburg. Overall, a great dining experience.
The restaurant itself was very clean and nice, and the food was very good. All the vegetables were very fresh and overall very good experience.
Super clean! Fresh, hot, overall really good food!
Got take out here- great service but pad Thai was abysmal. Rice noodles were overdone and chicken was dry. No sprouts or carrots on top. Disappointing.
It was very nasty. The fried rice tasted like eggs that had been scratch from the pan. Also they charge $6 to get fried rice instead of the white rice without letting me know. Also I had a hair in my food.
Smaller portions than expected. Their Tom Kha Gai wasn't as good as other places I've been. Seemed like they didn't put enough coconut milk in it.
Nice food and service but shortage of utensils.
Great, friendly service! The waitress helped us find vegan options. The curry was amazing!
Absolutely fantastic. The service was great, the food was amazing, the price was appropriate. Highly recommend and we'll be coming back for sure.
Food was very good. Close to authentic pad Thai. Would dine there again.
I had Pad Thai but was not happy with it. I asked for hot spiceness but I got a mild one instead. The taste was plain and there was a credit card surcharge. I’ve lived in Bangkok and had a lot of Thai food. Not impressed with this one.
Food is amazing and staff is extremely nice! Honestly the best pad Thai I've ever had.
Great food and great service. We go for date night and it’s peaceful setting. Very friendly people. Great food.
Very little beer.
Best Thai in Sevierville. Great service and the food is awesome.
Good food.
Good service.
Seems like local family owned restaurant. Go out and support the family.
Craving Thai food, decided to give this place a try esp after the most recent reviews were good. Not many true vegan options (they can only do the curries without oyster sauce), so we ordered the vegetarian spring rolls and panang curry, veggies and tofu, hot. We were very impressed. Still hungry, we ordered another round of spring rolls and green curry. Both curries were good, but enjoyed the panang the most. Can’t comment on the rest of the options, but overall, would recommend for any vegetarian/vegan to give them a try!
4.5🌟 Good Thai food. Will come again.
We found this nice thai place when we were visiting the Smokies. We had Pad thai (very good) and rice with green basil soup (good). The portion size was on the smaller size but was enough. Service could have been faster. Overall, nice food. Will come again.
Nice experience and must try when we visit pigeon forge. We had ordered Basil Fried rice, fried tofu and Spring rolls. Basil friend rice was extremely good and fresh. medium spice was right with little spicy finch for us. Spring rolls is a must try too.. Tofu was crispy but there was no salt in it. However we were able to have it with the peanut sauce provided along with sauce provided for spring rolls. But Definitely a good find.
Good food but it seems like they are closed alot
Stay safe away from this place. Tasted horrible. I believe they used burned car oil to make this food. I wouldn't feed any human.
Food was really tasty
Pad Thai Patty spring rolls garlic shrimp all of its really good just it's a little pricey compared to Thai Basil that's down on 66 and they're closed odd days so make sure you call him before you go in.
Food came out fast. Host was very personable. Waitress was okay, but not as observant as she could have been, or she liked my husband more. His glass got refilled at half, mine was empty all the way before she noticed. Husband liked his yellow curry; I enjoyed the Pad Prik. Both with chicken.
The food was amazing, I love the peaceful feel of the dining area. The waitress was very friendly and quick.
Seems like a small family owned businesses and they're friendly and welcoming. I got yellow curry with no added spice to share with a toddler. It was DELICIOUS! It had a nice creamy sweetness at first that slowly changed into a mild tolerable heat. My toddler was begging for more and didn't seemed bothered by the mild heat. If we're didn't come from out of town I'd be a repeat customer.
I ordered the Basil Fried Rice with chicken & shrimp, it came out hot but there was only 3 shrimp and maybe 1/2 a cup of chicken and 4 or 5 cups of rice. It was good but I expected a little more meat for the money.
Lovely local Thai place. Food was good. Service was very good. We had a very large party and arrived less than 20 minutes to closing and the still served us graciously.
Awesome food. Quick service.
Ordered pad Thai, salmon curry, and red curry. The salmon was very tuff like it’s been sitting in the heat for hours, but the curry was good. The pad Thai had the stench of chicken feed I did not eat that. The red curry was good, about the only that that was decent from what I ordered.
I would say average Thai food. Hearty portions, mine was steaming hot and freshly cooked, very tasty. They were very low on staff so the service was little slow on the weekend. Variety of dishes you can select from.
Our order-
1. Basil fried rice with Chicken and tofu - ordered thai hot spicy
2. Panang curry with chicken- Thai hot
3. Drunken noodles with chicken- medium spicy
4. Veggie drunken noodles
5. Pad Thai noodles
6. Spring rolls
7. Chicken satay
8. Thai iced coffee
We live in Knoxville and this Thai place beats out every other place around us. It’s worth the drive out here every time. Staff is great and the food is even better. Everything we’ve tried is amazing and flavorful! Their spring rolls are really fresh and probably the best I’ve ever had.
Not much of a taste on the food! Pad see ew noodles were not fully cooked. Hard. Beef larb don’t taste like the way it’s supposed to taste. More cabbage than the beef.
We tried to visit this place to get the Thai wifes a Thai meal during our roadtrip. Although the place itself might get a bit of a upgrade to get more Thai ambience, the food was excellent and was found as ‘authentic’ taste by the Thai. Definitely a good place to have a tasty meal.
Absolutely Fantastic !!!
Very tasty and flavorful food.
Will come back every time in this area
For low carb audience, there are a variety of dishes you can choose from. It was so very yummy!
food was great thought i was back in thailand for a second very good
Food was very good hot and fresh. We got the pineapple fried rice with vegetables and chicken and spicy soup. Good place to eat!
Excellent Thai food and great service. Thank you.
Decent food but unremarkable. I asked for certain vegetables and substitutions were made without asking me.
Excellent thia food. Service was great.
We had vegetable drunken noodles and green curry, it’s ok
Wunderbares Essen und nette Bedienung!
I got thai tea, it was not overly sweet like a lot of places. The chicken larb, chicken pad thai, drunken noodles, and thai papaya salad were really delicious if anyone wants recommendation. I didn’t get to take photos of everything, we were hungry. Service was slow but that’s due to lack of servers but that is just everywhere now.
We've eaten hear twice now and love the food.
Worst thai food that i taste. I order basil fried rice no flavor . Soup is the worst can't explain the flavor. It end up throwing in the sink and garbage.
Awesome and they’ve vegan and vegetarian option 🙏🏼
Pretty good food.
Best Thai food after long time, all dishes were authentic
Food was delicious. They have plenty of vegan options; we had the Vegetarian Pad Thai noodles & Sticky Rice 🌱
Me and my family came here because I was craving Laos/Thai food so being that I am Laos, I must say that the food here was super authentic! Reminded me of a home cooked meal for sure! I ordered pad Thai, yum seafood hot and when I tell you that it was so good it was, I literally finished it all! My husband had the larb and the kids had chicken on a stick with fried rice and they ate it all literally! I will definitely come back again if we are in town! Thanks so much for the delicious food!
Liked it, have vegetarian options in their menu. Food is tasty and fresh.. Fast service..
Such great, authentic food & excellent service. Highly recommended.
Awesome dining experience! Well worth the time and money.
Wasn’t the best Thai food but it was alright. The waiter was an interesting fellow that seemed like he didn’t want to be there but never mind that. Ordered the Panang vegetable and tofu curry, Tom kha soup, pad Thai and pineapple fried rice. Small portions… family run business.
They have a great pad see ew. If you like those as much as me eat here.
Food, normal. Experience, sub-normal.
The guy was so unwelcoming. I am not sure why they want to keep the restaurant open if they don’t have the energy to serve the customers.
I have been calling since 9:20 pm, no one picked up the phone, went to restaurant, a lady saw me outside at 9:30 and didn't even acknowledge us, website says closes at 10 pm. Very bad service and attitude of workers
Food quality was good. The Guy was very welcoming and humble. Love to visit again.
Good food with good management. ❤️❤️
Definitely happy food! Just enough flavors! Tasty Pad Thai!
Good food no wait.
Really good takeout if you want to relax after a long day of sightseeing at your hotel. I really liked their larb.
The man who greeted us was trying to push to order for take out. Then took care of everyone but us. I ordered pad Thai he must have made it extra spicy bc I couldn’t eat it was so hot. When he brought the check he says. We don’t wear mask down here because we believe in freedom. We outlawed and we will never make mask mandatory again. So that is what the issue was he stuck back in the 50 s. Northern / southern , really. I was treated disrespectfully because I wore a mask because I have serious health issues. I m full vaccinated and I still wear a mask bc I have a weakened immune system. No one forced me to wear it so I don’t die. Such a horrible experience.
Very tasty, the perfect portion sizes as well. Recommend the drunken noodles and the pad see yew.
Placed an order over call and when we went in to pick it up they told us the order wasn’t made because they didn’t think “someone who called 3 hours in advance would come to pick it up.”
Vegan options clearly listed with no fish sauce! Awesome! I had the pang yang tofu and fried tofu with peanut sauce! Everything was good and fresh!
Great food, quick service and decent prices.
Great Massaman and spring rolls. Music was a little too loud.
Great food and good portions.
Always great service and even better food!! Thai Palace is a must when we are in the area
Did not dine here place was closed after driving to location on a day they were supposed to be open.
I must say the only okay thing there was it was the salad dish (can't remember the name of it) because everything else was plain and flavorless. To start, our table was sticky. The fried tofu wasn't even good despite having a peanut sauce, which by the way tasted nothing like peanut. Frozen calamari, rubbish as expected. Curry was decent a long with a tasty fried rice. I wouldn't recommend it but I hope this place gets better.
Paid for dinner and got lunch portions, left hungry,
Absolutely delight to talk to the front desk staff, you can make any numbers of requests and they are there to carter to your preferences to all your demands, we got greeted with very kind and polite words and some good jokes. You can customize your dish to your hearts content! Absolutely recommended!
…..where do i even start? the place is nice, but the food is terrible. Had the pad see ew with shrimp and it just tasted like PURE SUGAR. it had no type of like seasoning or anything. honestly go to another place rather than this one. SAVE YOUR MONEY.
Great food 👍
This place serves the best Thai food. We dine here once or twice per week. Everything I've ordered is tasty, fresh, and served with a smile. It's a favorite dining establishment in Pigeon Forge. You can't go wrong enjoying a meal here.
The food (Fried rice and Noodles) had little to no flavor. Spring roll and. Chicken satay were very average.
Food is excellent, good prices
Attention: this place is extremely rude restaurant when you wear a mask. There is a old men manager was harassing us all the time during our dinner there. He was threaten us that here was very red place and we don’t like people wear mask and will probably kick you out. We had a baby sitting with us and he was extremely rude
